The trust system is designed to try and figure out which users are genuine players enjoying the game normally, and which are bots or crashers alt accounts trying to cheese it.

It's not strictly based on time - friends, worlds visited, avatars/worlds uploaded (if the account has permission) and active hours all help, alongside not getting kicked/banned/reported/etc
It's completely different for everyone, but I'd hazard a guess and say that 10-50 hours with a decent amount of friends'd be enough to go from Visitor to New User c:

Hello. I'm new to VRChat. Today I tried karaoke world. And there were people singing together! And it was amazing! But... their voices were equally delayed too much from the song lyrics. This is what I was hearing. I guess it is because I'm from EU and have ~200 ping. Voices sounded like they were delayed much more. I don't think I could sing together with these people while all of their voices are so much delayed. And if I did I would spoil their fun. I really wanted to participate in singing, but I guess this is impossible. This made me sad.

snaily, I've spoken to many people all over the world for many years and I have to say that latency affects us all and happens at random times.. but not all instances are the same, in general the more people in once instance the worse it will be, if you join a group of people in an instance and your not surrounded you should be fine, but it depends on your network.. the server strain vs the people connected.. and your processor/GPU under load due to the mass of avatars around you.

You could use a priority channel for karaoke rooms, the people participating in the event say live in stage for example would have a filter in place that would give them the ability to mute all others around them within a certain radius.. so that the entertainer could be heard over the surroundings..

Possibly a volumetric mod that allowed them to be heard over a crowd.

if you never used vr you will most likely get sick from movement so I reccomend sitting on your carpet floor with any fans you have on facing your face with bottles of water

Best advice I can give coming from my own experience here, there is a really good video by Nardwuar the Human Serviette called "Do it yourself" where he talks about how all of his opportunities always start with asking people stuff. Never be afraid to ask! The worst that can happen is the person doesn't respond, or says no. Also another way to think about it which may make you less worried is to consider how much traction that could bring to the world creator. Them saying no is basically them not wanting to grow and flourish as a creator. :3
