It often doesnt go for the right one so you gotta confirm it.
And i think the default game option is push to talk, the buttons should be V

You will merge on the website and information like friends and favorites will for sure transfer.
World favorites are a bit buggy from what i heard, so might wanna write those down.

To merge you gotta be in the steam account to get a code you enter on the website where you logged in with the Vrchat account.

And it might take a while before the information is actually merged, so dont panic if it doesnt instantly work and give it a while or even a day if the servers are slow.

Just so you guys understand how completely and annoying it was for me(using my old WMR), I had to plug in my headset, I usually had to reset the play space because sometimes it just wouldn't work at all. Wait a bit for it to load the home area, open SteamVR, wait for that to load, and then open VRChat and wait for it to load.

Not to mention that if I went AFK for a certain amount of time(like 10 minutes I think), it automatically shuts down the headset itself and kicks me out of VRChat and SteamVR, repeating the whole process.

Im pretty sure you already have some kind of real time speech to text translator for general use, there is software like OVRDrop and such to display windows in game and then you would set the game audio as the input to the speech to text recognition

Optionally you can also connect via a program called virtual desktop wirelessly. It's fairly easy to set up as well. The only caveat is that it's streaming the game into your headset so if you don't have good internet it can be a problem. I typically only use it when I need to charge and play at the same time.

Quest 2 is my first HMD, and have to agree that I prefer playing over Virtual Desktop versus native app. My only gripe is inside out tracking becomes a problem at times when my controller must go behind the HMD. Like firing a bow in some cases

FPS should be shown at the bottom-right of the menu along with the ping (though it's vv likely not a ping issue)

might be the audio device issue then - in the ingame settings, switch your microphone to a different device and then quit VRChat. Unplug the microphone you want to use and then replug it, then open VRChat again and switch your microphone back in the settings

Try the audio device fix first to see if that fixes it, but reinstalling could help too o:
also, could try resetting your binds back to default in SteamVR to see if that fixes it

still likely could break it though, regardless of use - ingame switch it off of whatever microphone it's set to, quit the game and unplug + replug that microphone/device, launch the game again and then set the mic back
