I just been looking at a few settings on my PC, thought that I might share this with a few people, if you are experiencing glitches in your VR experience or your CPU usage is too high then disabling Hyperthreading/SMT or setting affinity in task manager (reducing core count) can improve your VR experience

I was just in a moderatly sized world and i got a 170% performance increase from reducing my threads from 8 to 1 in task manager

if you're on a ryzen it can be beneficial to restrict vrchat to one ccx

I spent months and months trying this and that to fine tune VR performance, reduce the latency, find out if there's any way to lower vram in busy worlds etc... 6700K and a RTX2070 should not be as bad as it was for me...

Aside from the various fine tuning between steamv and occulus, keeping GPU default settings (except power to full per game and global adaptive, VR pre rendered frames to 1) helped alot.

The biggest setting I discovered is in system - graphics settings. Turn off hardware accelerated GPU scheduling. That was a setting from Windows 2004 update. I turned it on and hmm, it doesn't work too well yet.

I discovered the other day a cpu thing with error avatars. If you see an error robot, watch your CPU use - it will be around double. Hide the error or ask them to change avatar and reload the world. Your CPU use will drop...

I just found out very cheeky my threads were spending more time rescheduling to other threads then they were processing the game

so for example it takes 10.000 xp to go from lvl1 to lvl2 and vrc+ gives you a one time boost of 10.000xp. If you're on lvl2 it takes 20.000xp to get to lvl3, then buying vrc+ won't rank you up
(Just an example, numbers have nothing to do with vrc's trust system)

The boost it gives you has significant diminishing returns

This boost is relatively small, and has diminishing returns. If you are a Visitor, the boost will bring you to New User, enabling content upload capabilities. However, if you are a User or Known User, the boost is unlikely to have any affect on the Trust rank you have.

Alot will depend on your internet for sure and often ISP's can have terrible routing to the Vrchat servers :/ Like mine

but my issue was resolved with a VPN as suggested by the official VRchat help. so yeah my issue was crappy routing from my ISP causing me to drop

For me it stabilized my connection for Vrchat so I wasn't constantly getting 0kbs every 2 mins I was trying to go to another world. but yeah VPN will slow your connection down a bit. Just avoid cheap vpn services imo :/

My brother was trying to play VRChat from his laptop and all avatars equipped deform into a weird mesh of planes when equipped.
When joining a world with multiple people or a less optimized avatar his game will crash.

He has a nvidia nvs 5100M. Its ancient, yes he is using those drivers.

Those are the latest for that graphics card, and they were updated in 2016, if they are not supported that makes sense.

The NVS 5100M was a professional mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched in January 2010. Built on the 40 nm process . Yeah time for an upgrade for sure

Yes, You can create your own avatars but in order to upload them/use them, You need to be at the New User rank

You must obtain at least "New User" Trust Rank in our Trust and Safety system in order to upload content. You can get this by just spending a few hours in VRChat, hop some worlds, and make some friends. Give it some time and you'll be able to upload content in no time.

As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

Good evening. I was wondering if anyone else has been having high GPU Frametime spikes in random worlds since this patch dropped. Worlds that used to run fine are now causing me to see spikes between 250-1000ms, crippling and crashing the client. Some of these worlds are not even graphically-intense and sometimes the same world loads in fine. It seems to have been worse yesterday, but I am still experiencing problems with random worlds that I know I can run just fine. Running an RTX 2060 paired with a Valve Index.

Q2 user here, Facebook and Oculus use it for only their side of things. So games on Steam won't know what your FB is unless you just openly link it or whatever

I still set every option I could find to "Only Me" just to be on the safe side

Updated both the drivers and the Index yesterday and the client today. As I said, some of the worlds are running better today, but yesterday, most of the worlds were broken for me for hours. For example, Room in the Rain, which is very simple, crashed me 3x yesterday, but is running today. VGL and Midnight Rooftop, however, are still stuttering and lagging me out. All these worlds used to run perfectly fine over the last few weeks, so I am clueless.

So, like right now, one of the worlds I was in and able to run about an hour ago is unplayable.
