Late reply, sorry. But go into blender with your obx of your model. Then use the CATS plug-in to separate your meshes. Select the Cloud and export it as its own OBJ file. Then delete it. Join your mesh back together . Export as an obx, then do mixamo again.
Once it’s done, put the FBX into blender, then import your cloud. Create a new bone or just parent the cloud to the root bone. Maybe that’ll work?

Ah, okay. I’ve only ever worked with my own models so I guess if you got it from online it’ll be FBX only. Check to see if there is an option to download an OBX. I don’t have too much experience with premade models

auto hide very poor avatars and limiting dynamic bones is pretty much all you need to improve performance. Sure you can fine-tune it a bit more to get even more performance, but just doing those two should mostly give you playable frames

That isnt really network problems related.
There is always a small overhead within avatars (The Voice, There tracking and ect).
If your running on real low end hardware there is sadly nothing to be done about that.
But anything close to modern should run that fine, i personally have been in 30+ rooms without blocking avatars and getting a stable 45FPS.
And my gear isnt far from top notch anymore

You calculate your own, send it and just process others, what in the end saves a fair bit of work.

On new year i was in some worlds with ~28 people in it, all medium to very good performing avatar.

yea thats what i was thinking too, it could be that the world uses a ton of pixel lights and that kills the FPS with so many robots unable to be batched. there has got to be a way to fix that though

to be fair iRacing had a similar problem of too much concurrent users in an important race and according to them the problem was that it slowed down everything because the server systems thought it was an attack (it was just an unusual number of users)
