Starting from NVENC over Cuda and CuDDN, Hairworks, and the other nice to have features.
While AMD does have equivalents for most they often are worse and support is also definitely not even close as good.

Hearing about someone having better perf. in VRC with a rx 6000 series card (vs. equivalent RTX 3000 and considering how rare these cards are AND the smol # of desktop PC players in this game) and VRC being my main as well as my most demanding game...

Even quest limits are reasonable. 10k polys is double the polys of super smash melee. 70k is bigger than most ps4 main characters. Raw assets comes with ridiculous polys because they are meant to be processed to whatever is needed. For example an avatar could have a ring that's 50k polys raw, or 500 processed.

About the only annoying thing for my quest model is the stiffness of all my hair and feathers. Other than that it looks like the 70k poly version. I'm even considering removing my high poly version from the game. And just rolling with 10k polys.

A big difference between SSBM and VR is the size of the model onscreen (well, in VR this translates weirdly due to FOV and shit) and how close the camera generally gets to the model, so it's not really a good comparison to make since the use cases of the models are wildly different without even taking hardware into account.

And the longer you play, the more friends you have etc, the higher your rank is so people would see, "oh this guy has been playing vrc for a pretty long time", or "hey you're new to vrchat, let me show you around" (but that doesn't really happen)

they're getting into the right direction with the new nameplates now. Before, each rank also had a differently colored nameplate so it was pretty easy to tell the rank. Now all nameplates have the same color and you have to open the menu to check the rank

People working in Unity can't combine objects, so they end up with a ton of them, which means a lot of drawcalls.
Worlds made in Blender usually use fewer drawcalls, but still contain a lot of pixels and thus require GPU work

While some people build worlds out of 100s of Unity cubes, the more normal way is to use Unity prefabs like the ferris wheel. I think it had almost 1000 parts? You'll find it in multiple public worlds
