its still a good card imo. Unless you want to play games at 1440p with 144hz or 240hz. Because the 1070ti should be able to do 1440p 110fps in most games

Unless there's been new info on the HPR-G2, it'd probably be wise to be careful about it, due to it's controllers lacking any of the normal methods VR-Chat uses for gestures.

Yeah I mean I checked the sys requirements for the reverb g2 and it says my video card typically runs at half-resolution but iirc I saw somewhere that reverb g2 1/2 resolution is still better than oculus rift s

mrtv tested all the headsets listed with the openvrbenchmark on steam. Its designed to purely test performance and will not resemble performance of any game

and the fps results are the average fps of the headsets, and the hp reverb g2 has 2 values. the first one is at full resolution and the one in (brackets) is the result at half resolution

I don't have a rift s myself, but I turned the resolution up on my headset (wmr I think it has similar resolution to rift s, gotta check again tho) and at 100% scaling everything still kinda looks like its a game, but the more you turn up the super sampling the more it feels youre actually there

so my experience with the rift S + 2060 was that outside of really shitty avs/worlds framerate was fine, and yeah you can tell you're looking at a screen but it's only in super rare situations does it actually impede actually making out what something is or says

Yeah I feel like it makes sense for me to spend the extra $200 for something that is immediately better for me (1/2 resolution reverb g2 > full resolution rift s) and that I can upgrade my graphics card later to fully utilize the reverb g2 at full resolution

@shell stratus in my experience quest was the threshold where the resolution is good enough that things don’t look blurry. Cv1 was Blurry, Quest wasn’t, I haven’t used a Rift S but I’m told it looks sharper than Quest. So I’m sure it’s fine.

I also saw that in steamvr advanced settings there's an experimental feature that bypasses the oculus api so you can use your oculus headset natively with steamvr, however I don't have an oculus headset so I can't try it out

I want to get a pulley system too eventually but my cables are barely even long enough to go from my pc to my play area. its not directly infront of my desk so there's a bit of a distance between my pc and my play area

For the few possibilities where i had a setup with pullesy they where more anoying then the cord hanging down normally.

What wireless is worth depends entirely on the user. For some it's an expensive finicky upgrade that they'll not get too much value from , but for others it's absolutely non-negotiable. Go tell the dance community that it's not worth while, and see how they respond.

Yeah, and a pulley system is absolutly not able to replace the freedom of wireles.
All a pulley system does is run the cable differently, it doesnt mean you now have total freedom of movement.

The cable is still there, and it twists with every turn still, and you have drag from the pulleys.

Mhmm. I'd perhaps consider a pulley system if I had a taller ceiling, but as is I'd just end up bumping my head into it or get caught on draping wires.

Personally I'm waiting for wireless to be cheaper and more reliable. Right now it consumes a hefty amount of CPU power that I'd rather turn towards FPS, and whilst it'd be nice to spin about, I get by fine.
A friend of mine conversely, I believe has bought three wireless adapters by now, replacing each after it started failing after extensive hours used. (Heat damage or something? I'm not certain of the details.)

That's odd then. Full body calibration works for everyone else so far. The only issue is some don't like the new calibration method. Maybe check in #full-body-tracking if anyone else is having the same issue

I presume you can still write with avatars that have pens on them on desktop for the mute communication strats. It only works for people with little to no safety settings on, or your friends probably have it enabled.

I have Shield Level set to None, Minimum Displayed Performance Rank set to VeryPoor, and Maximum Avatar Download Size set to No Limit yet everyone's avatars are still showing up as that Perf Blocked skin. Okay I figured out the issue. Changing the "Maximum Avatar Download Size" from "No Limit" to "200 MB" fixed the issue. All avatars are now loading automatically. I no longer have to manually select an avatar and turn it on.

I'm running the oculus quest with virtual desktop for streaming Steamvr to my quest the dev of virtual desktop said it uses more gpu and not really any CPU I also uses nolo cv1 for full body and uses driver4vr and nolo home in the background to run them that also dose not uses much cpu I'm looking at a rtx2060 super with vrss on for better performance the ram I'm looking at is
G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16

@silk shadow I don't have a headset, but I have never had the game go below 30 fps while averaging around 120 fps, that I have noticed yet. If there is a lot of cancer it does slow down, but another pc would too at that point. But I don't know how much more strain there is with a headset.

In VR everything get's rendered twice for a full stereoscopic effect (so objects in the distance look right) while in desktop everything (should) get rendered once.
This is a bit more simplified as there's more factors then just that so keep that in mind.

Omg, is anyone having this issue with Oculus touch controllers. I can't find anything on my issue, I am desperate... Sometimes when I use VR with VRChat, my bindings are different and/or over lapped. When I go to binding menu they are the same as when they do work. I don't know what's wrong, if I did not describe it the best, I can do so better-ish... You must obtain at least "New User" Trust Rank in our Trust and Safety system in order to upload content. You can get this by just spending a few hours in VRChat, hop some worlds, and make some friends. Give it some time and you'll be able to upload content in no time.

As an aside, you must have a VRChat account to upload content. That means you can't use a Steam account, Oculus account, or Viveport account to upload content like worlds or avatars.

The settings is useless. They need to fix it. Because in order to find out the download size it needs to download the avatar first. So it still dowloads it no matter what and then it hides it if it exceeds the limit. And imo thats not what the download limit should do
