when I first plugged it in, it didnt open the wmr portal. When I opened it manually it told me to connect the headset. after a while of googling I found a file with the drivers for a manual install. After that it said plug in the display connector. And after another while of googling I found out that I had to update my graphics drivers. And then it worked. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

the problem could be that your pc is too old or just not cut out for vrchat or your internet is not good

Very important news regarding the "ripper" store website:

I have (as well as others I will not mention) dug into the code of the website and found it just checks the VRC api to see if new public avatars have been uploaded. It then drags the name and image from the api server and adds it to the website. Very simple code but all they have is pictures. No one needs to worry about their avatars being potentially stolen. Same is true for private avatars but these are added by hand and not from the code they wrote.

Funny side notes:

They even have models of popular franchise characters like Frozone from the Incredibles. Because they are selling these models they technically are capable of being sued by the parent company (in this case Disney) for sale of protected trademark and copyright characters without legal consent.
They linked their discord to the website as a way to update their pictures real-time so it is easy to track them down lol

When you merge accounts, it adds them together. Friends, stats, ECT.

But I don't think you can merge a steam account with an oculus account. You can only merge either if them with a vrchat.com account

Most games are optimized for up to 4 cores and higher clock speeds rather than a lot more cores and lower clock speeds.

At the current stage, I think 6 cores is the sweet spot for value/performance gaming. Still having a couple cores free for background processes.

The game engine would have to be optimized to use all available cores and threads, but most games don't use more than 4 since that was the standard premium core count for years.

@versed yacht I'm using a Threadripper 1920x, which is a 12 core cpu with the 1st gen Ryzen architecture, and haven't had any problems at all in vrchat. If the model you have is 2nd or 3rd gen, it'll have better efficiency than mine, so if mine works without problems, yours will do just fine.

I can maintain 80fps in some mirrors with a couple of friends using optimized avatars, but in a badly optimized world or avatar, it will tank frames.
