Go into NVIDIA control panel and make sure the correct GPU is being used

If your CPU has Integrated graphics it could be defaulting to that

Which can be fixed by going to 3d settings in NVIDIA control panel and setting only the 4080 to be used in all cases

Almost all times when EAC 'causes' a bluescreen it because something else is broken first.
What error code does your bluescreen give? (You can find it by pressing the windows key, searching for pressing eventvwr.msc, windows logs -> system)
google that error and see if it was an obvious problem

Else check for broken drivers/discs by using the the console and writing; sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f

Wtf was Rarouns answer? Imposter avatars are shown when an avatar rank is "very poor". Ranks are just a way to understand how much an avatar will negatively impact performance. On quest, you can just click show avatar on the players profile to override it.

Could also be a pc only avatar, but there isn't anything you can do about that as the creator didn't upload a quest version

Toggles don't work until "User" (custom animations). Shaders and lights don't work until "Trusted User".
Audio starts working at "Known User", but I think most people don't really care/use that much.

If you play exclusively on Quest/Android and don't care about how you're seen on PC, ranks past "User" wouldn't matter as much.

the quest 3 also has much better lasting controllers, and with a power cable or a battery bank that supports quest 3 you an play infinite too

Used my B100 upgrade first time last night.
Spend roughly 2 1/2 hours in VR, the Quest 3 stayed at 99% charge the whole time (Unlike the 18W PD chargers with cable before where it would stay at roughly 75%) and it still shows 3/4 battery dots on the battery.

Even if we apply the "worst case" that it's just barely about to become 2 dots, that's 4-5h extra playtime with one batterie.

Sadly due to me having the upgrade kit, i don't have the % readout of the battery and can only use the 4 dots as reference.

Most routers should do

The important things are:
-5ghz at least. If you want to chill out for WiFi6e to use 6Ghz then that also is nice but will cost a lot extra.
(Wifi6e, not Wifi6, and Wifi7 devices also not always have 6ghz. If you want 6ghz make sure to put in some extra research to make sure your router pick can actually do that.)
-Not one of those nano routers
-Gigabit network ports on the router, a decent amount of cheaper routers does not have gigabit lan ports.

the creator of the world has moderator powers in any instances of their world... even instances owned by a completely unrelated group... 😟
there is nothing in the community or creator guidelines saying they can't use those moderation powers however they see fit... unless it becomes harassment 🤷
your friend's best cause of action is to just ban the world creator from their group, that way they can't enter the instance and abuse their moderation powers... 😞
i speak with a lot of unfortunate experience in this sort of situation 😫

Apparently he got targeted and mass reported and banned from vrc and everything for no reason and since the one who apparently did it is partners with vrchat his req got denied 😢

"mass reporting" doesn't actually do anything... VRChat only takes action if the report is actionable with proof of rule violations... the amount of reports has no bearing on it...

depends on what your friend was banned for, and what they did... they clearly didn't do "nothing wrong", unless very convincing fraudulent reports were made, which sounds unlikely... 🤷

I can assure you that mass reporting wont get you banned unless you actually did something bad
VRC's moderation team manually handles each ticket so proof has to be shown for them to take action on something
Depending the reason he got banned, its fairly easy to explain as to what he did that got him gone.

One last thing wanted to say, do some research into future economics with AI. Kinda interesting, dystopian and involves UBI (bit complex) but in retrospect if we're producing massive amounts of things for far less. People at the bottom will go up, but the top will go even more up because of hierarchy?

What's noticeable from 16GB to 24GB VRAM is whether you get laggy from enabling lots of Very Poor avatars, but 16GB should still suffice in my opinion

okay... so 24 isnt overkill for VRC... that's kind of the only reason I've kept this expensive thing. I really would never pay such a high price for a GPU but I was hoping it would fix my issue. might still go to 16 or just wait even longer until something better and cheaper than 3090 appears. but then I wont get as much back for it. aaah damn Nvidia lacking in options and AMD I dont trust with what happened last time and what I've heard of it. @tired steppe Plus I got a 7900xtx with 24gb of vram, which isn't the best brand for VR but new drivers makes it almost on par with 4080 / super with VR. Now with newer updates pushing for less GB for avatars its improved a bit.

The biggest issue is still CPU bottleneck situation which occurs more often because of Unity's engine and avatar's bones.

People think 30-40fps is nice, but when you hit constant 80-90+ you begin realizing VR's immersion feels much better and eyes have less strain.

The extra cache is good from 3D in all games, and especially vrchat mind you. Its just single core and cache both are used to its max in vrc
