My game randomly freezes after some interactions in vrc, for example if I change my avatar or drop a portal most of the times my game freezes and then its getting white and says end process. This works for me, might not for you:
Step 1: Change your router on your PC from "Public" to "Private"
Step 2: Turn down your Airlink Bitrate. It'll be faster fps and less lag at the cost of slight artifcating
Step 3: Turn down visual settings, turn off avatars, etc
Step 4: Make sure to close any external tabs of things you don't need running
Step 5: Minimize or Shrink the window that VRChat uses for it's Preview display
Step 6 (If you're using Nvidia): Change your 3D Graphics settings to "Performance" instead of "Quality"
Step 7: Change your Power Plan to "Max Performance"

Nah that doesnt sound like a good option.... third option is to cobble a secondary steamvr driver that replaces a headsets regular one but thats a mess.. it means having to patch every single headset you wanna support.. and can create problems of its own.

The idea was to provide a tool for anyone (for free btw) to add external cameras to their headset (with supported brackets) to have an higher definition overlay in vr (with a lower FOV) primairly useful for VR dj's who cannot deal with having no outside camera.. and people with an index (which camera is too dark and too low resolution)

we got an openvr camera.. but then we stumbled upon steamvr having a lack of support for proper external camera implementations (other then "mixed reality" aka just outside viewing camera.. not a mounted camera on your headset.

I don't have VRC plus, so my icon is just the thumbnail for my current avatar. And it's definitely showing a thumbnail for the avatar in question, but, it's a very old thumbnail for that avatar; the avatar hasn't looked like that in years. And it's not like the avatar's thumbnail changed somehow; when I visit the "current avatar" page, it shows the current thumbnail there, rather than the ancient one that's showing up right next to it in the "go to profile" link.

There should exist custom PC builds only created for VrChat. I try to max Out a PC build with 5k, what exactly is Most important for VrChat for real. Graphic Card yes, but on which Stuff into that build i better Not should Safe money for. Its not only to See many Avatars, more the truth that my current PC has issues in running obs together with VrChat, and If i try to Film in 4k it only gets more laggy, like 5-20 fps. Even If my pc costs 1.5k

Ohs, streaming. With VRC being able to somehow max a 4090, there is no true solution if using GPU encode. You may want more CPU (cores) and use that for encoding (h264/h265). My guess.

Not sure where to put this, but I noticed a bug with either EAC or VRChat with Steam VR 2.0. Running VRChat with the Steam VR 2,0 beta will cause EAC to throw a Createfile Failed With 32 error, as if the client or game was modded. But as soon as I switched back to the stable release, VRChat booted up just fine. So there is somewthing with the 2.0 release that VRChat EAC just does not like. Just putting it out there for what I noticed just now

small tips for desktop linux players that are having performance issues (probably nobody here)

• use protonup-qt to install proton-ge as a steam compatability tool, and use it for vrchat
• get a kernel with fsync enabled (proton should automatically use it if available by default but add WINEFSYNC=1 to launch args just to be safe)
• DXVK_HUD="fps,frametimes" in launch args for a good way to measure performance while playing

Because hand tracking and haptics already work in VRChat, it's definitely plausible to have these gloves working. I have managed to run vrchat on an i3 2100 with 4gb ram and a rtx 3090 was intresting to say the least

went to go benchmark my pc in a public world, so i joined 1s optimized box
waited for everything to download, max 12 avatars, and slowly my fps kept decreasing, it was at about 22 fps with all the avatars around me, before someone walked towards me
their avatar loaded, and instantly my game just froze up. i looked at ovr toolkit and saw my ram, vram, and gpu usage was completely used.

my game can still run playable with some lighter "very poor" avs, but stuff with 300k polys and over 300mb of vram are a lot heavier than a small 70k poly model

I would suggest at least 6600xt. 6700xt is also an amazing card for the price and sits in a great sweet spot for price-performance in the past couple years. 12GB of vram, same performance as a 3070 practically. Way better than anything nvidia has to offer for the price atm.
