Which means you will need a extra tilt head if you want to change the angle once tripod mounted.

pretty much download it and run. it has settings you can tweak, and there are some situations where it might not be helpful (iirc sometimes I'll be in a world which is very CPU bound, such as Hokyl Night, and it's still trying to dip my resolution to be able to meet 90fps on the GPU, even though I'll never meet it), but I mostly just kinda forget that it's running in the background all the time.
..... which means that my lamenting about VRChat being mostly CPU bound is not the most accurate because I never see it being GPU bound thanks to this tool. right. oops.
this tool can't do anything about unoptimized animators on avatars, unoptimized udon scripting in a world, or vrchat just trying to cope with sheer numbers of people, though.

to cope with unoptimized animators, you could try disabling animators in your shield settings -- though it shouldn't really be applicable if you're already blocking avatars in shield settings
on the other hand, if you're relying purely on distance based blocking, iirc vrchat is still running the animators on other peoples avatars even when they aren't shown, for various reasons.

when i'm really trying to claw back frames (and probably failing) i run custom shield settings that block everything but voice for everyone except for friends, and then manually show people who I'm currently talking to.
