Cool, so you're basically taking a couple repeating values to use as a centre point [thus moving it within those values], and offsetting the Z and then using that as an alpha mask to drive the colour lerp before finally getting mixed in with the noise which is using a negative bump offset. Genius.

No, it's just a heuristic based on wear leveling to give you an idea if you might want to consider replacing it yet

you need an attitude of learning. anything can be learned and linux is no different. heck it aint even that difficult. most things in it are very simple. troubleshooting in linux i much easier. like if a package install fails you'll receive a detailed and relevant error message. i recall back in the day receiving errors about missing DLL's. my stupid young self thought "Oh ok so lets just go grab said DLL from the web". learned thats a quick way to compromise your PC. windows can be really difficult to troubleshoot. because nobody outside MS has access to the source.
