Fifa Ultimate Team is a bit more complicated than that. Being that it's a trading card system. The game is secondary, it's just a means to an end. But what they do which is kinda cool is keep you rolling with new events and game as a service style gameplay. That being said, I tried to play FIFA 21 without buying a single pack and my team ended up completely crap and I had to go up against the pack feeders who all played the same overpowered 5 players. A lot of the streamers quit early this season, and I don't blame them as far as the game goes. But, aisde from the gambling system which makes skill moot with the Director mode, it's actually got a truly good single player offline mode which you only need to buy once every 5 years or so.

Honestly I don't care much about high refresh rate. I know DOSBox can't control the monitor the same way real DOS machine would, and I'm not a competitive player, so I won't bother.
Though to be fair 75 Hz might be the closer one, since most DOS apps run at 70 FPS.
There's also stuff like FreeSync and G-Sync (or whatever it called, you get the idea), it makes monitor more expensive, but something that CRT does for free.
Though higher power draw might backfire that...

well for 24hz/24fps movies, there is things done in post production to create a "natural" frame interpolation effect, IIRC thats why 25hz (interlaced) was the standard in Europe for a while

What is the evil side of Epic Games? Because I've never in my life seen any mega-corporation that's nice, even Apple caring about your privacy and all are suing small companies to get money off them, knowing they could barely fight against Apple in court.
Epic Games gives away free games every week, and not just cheap games no one knows about. Saints Row The 3rd (Remastered), GTA 5, PC Building Simulator, and they just give away a free game or two like every week.
Then Unreal Engine is free-as-in-price and open-source, they give you tons of crazy crap like tons of free assets on their marketplace and the entire Quixel megascan library, just for free as long as you use their engine. And it's all for a 30% free of your game's earnings, which is nothing since for a lot of people like me, I don't even earn money from my games and even then, I could just accept donations

There is currently another project that is trying to utilize C# and bring it into Unreal Engine as a primary binder to the API.
Problem is in the EULA epic flat out blocked you from being able to create and sell such a project.
They have been talking to Mike fricker about how to work around that and or if epic will give them the exception.
It's been many weeks and they've already talked to Epic and yet they sit there waiting with their project unable to move forward because epic has not decided that it's okay that they have created a new scripting language effectively because they have their own in the works called verse.
If epic was truly about developers this would be a non-starter and they would just tell those guys go ahead with your project, no big deal.
That's not their primary impetus which is to make money
So is that evil? not really, just normal business which conflicts with the idea of being open to every developer.

I literally have two decades worth of C sharp libraries and resources that is running all the stuff back on the back side that I can't leverage inside of tools like Unreal Engine because it has no support for that
