@tawny hollow the problem with "letting yourself" burnout is sometimes you have no choice. You have to work to earn, to eat and feed your kids, or buy them shoes and clothes. I've never let myself burnout because that would be silly. But I happen to burnout because I need to work and earn money. The only other option is extreme poverty, homelessness and that will be infinitely worse than burnout.

Yeah I've got some literature on stuff like that. My problem atm is being locked into the lease for the time being. But from next year we're getting out and moving further out to get something cheaper. At that point we will just stop spending like money doesn't matter. Right now we're kind of used to being wasteful, which isn't great, we could be putting that money away, but it gets burnt up by the most random crap
It's basically changing your fundamental habits and how you view needs vs wants and the mentality around money.
