In late game 53 I was pushing US divisions just fine till I reached Guadalajara in Mexico
But by that point after some naval invasion attempts and failing them because the US army was on steroids, I just went with my plan of nuking them into submission + Collab government, to make the surrender limit as high as possible and then do a token naval invasion to take some high victory points. By the time I did it they had 80% surrender limit (and nuking several times)
