Not by steam

Go to commons

Eliminate the whole hoi4 folder

And then go ti documents/paradoxinteractive, and do the same with the hoi4 folder

Then install the game and let it download all the mods again

and check if it works

to do it:

Could anybody confirm if the intel menu crash has been fixed now? This has been a huge problem for me when using the La Resistance DLC.. Mid game whenever I would click on my own countries intel menu(mostly the army one) my game would instantly crash regardless of not using mods

How am I supposed to fix this? I paid for the game a year ago with a package of other strategy games from the Summer Sale, and already have the latest versions of Visual C++ and .NET Framework. I've spent 8 hours on the launcher alone trying to fix this for a year and haven't had luck. Finally had the idea to check on this server.
I've already redownloaded the game many times.
Other Paradox games also don't work, except for Cities: Skylines. The rest I got had similar problems.

If you mean reinstalling the game, I already made it clear that I did that many times with nothing happening or fixing.

Only Cities: Skylines, all historical strategy games I got on a summer bundle a year ago on Steam seem not to work. Initially, Imperator: Rome also worked, however it stopped working ~9 months ago.
If you're seeing a connection with PC Specs, I did too. However, I've already ran programs to see if my specs are good enough to run it, and every time it says I should be able to, but not optimally.

Hello, I don't know if is it the right channel, but I'll use it anyway.
I want to adress/correct something. Core states of Kashubia are Gdańsk, Gdynia and Hinterpommern if I recall correctly.
The thing is, that terrain of modern day Zachodniopomorskie (basically Hinterpommern) was never Kashubian at all, only small parts of it have some kashubians.
It is quite weird to have core in Hinterpommern for Kashubia, taking the fact that even today quite a lot of Kashubians hate people of Zachodniopomorskie, and vice-versa. It was the same when the region was owned by germany, or even harsher.
I highly suggest removing the core in Hinterpommern for Kashubia. Thanks for reading, and I hope for an response.

Hi folks, I think this is more along the lines of the technical side of things, and I don't have high hopes for a solution, but I thought it best to check here.

I've been playing HOI 4 with a subscription, which, unbeknownst to me, expired today (I cancelled it last month and forgot about it). I have a long term Ironman Save with the Millenium Dawn mod, so when I launched the game, I was informed of the missing DLC. I exited, resubscribed, and relaunched the save. Unfortunately, it appears to have reverted to a bare bones state - IE: No focuses completed, no research etc etc. I'm wondering if anyone has run into similar issues, and if it's plausible to fix them?

Whenever I try to open HOI4 trough Steam it doesn't even open the launcher, tried to reinstall everything and deleting every file and still, tried to open hoi4 trough files and start has administrator and I got a error called: 0xc000007b

note: After launching for first time it opens the launcher but, when it asks to update the launcher and restart it, it doesn't open again.

for the save games search the paradox folder under documents. maybe if you find the files you can recover them manually. As for the playsets just make new ones.
this is the usual path for save games:

if you don't find anything then there is nothing to do.

yes it was something to do with the one drive and the paradox launcher not being able to find the game, I can't quite remember how I did it but I got in touch with paradox support directly and they solved it from there

Hey, I didnt play hoi4 for a while. I came back after two weeks not playing and now my game is lagging. I validaded two times now the files on steam. Both times steam installed like 7.2 gbs again but it doesnt stop. My Pc is meeting the requirements. I have a rtx 2060 6gb an I7 Gen 4, 16 gbs ram. I didnt lag in the past year playing but now it suddenly does. I already set the video quality to the lowest. Maybe reinstalling would work but thats the last measure i would like to conduct. And of course I tried without any mods. Do you guys have any idea why its lagging and is it a common bug right now?
