Hi , I have this thing where when i download from steam it doesnt show up
downloads the mod in the game directory not the docu/pardox/hio4/mod

instead they get downloaded in the steamapp/worksjop

That is normal, the launcher should see them there and put the necessary files for the game to read it in documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV/mod

You probably didn't understand. I don't modify/move files from game files to my modification while I have the game running...The problem is that the game does not replace the modified ones (in my mod) when I start the game with it enabled.

rapid dominance isn't bad, in fact it's even good in singleplayer because of good early buffs. However, it's generally better to pick grand assault, but it depends on your builds

Mass assault, on the other hand, just like the new mobile warfare is pretty bad. If you want useful picks, choose superior firepower (best for defense due to the recovery rate and supply buffs) or grand assault (best for offense due to planning and coordination stats)

Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV and delete the history, map and localisation folders. They are file dumps meant for modding which the game sometimes generates by mistake (PDX should really make those only load in debug but here we are)

So, i have installed a mod, wich changes the look of my map (kaiserreich style map, is the name). Now, i went throigh the files just for fun, but i accedentally deleted one file. Now HOI4 says taht it can´t find the file or that the file is incomplete. I tried deinstalling it on steam by clicking the trashbin, but it didn´t seem to reinstall it after i clicked the trashbin in the pic, and the mod was gone, but steam wouldn´t reinstall it and, after i restarted my pc, it was back there again. Whenever I open the game it loads to the point where it says "Precalculating Naval Distances" then the music glitches out and stops and the game completely freezes. I am playing on a MacBook Air M1 2020 which has run the game without serious issues for years until literally today.

What I have done:

Restarted Steam

Uninstalled and reinstalled Hoi4

Repeatedly verified game files

Repeatedly deleted game cache

Started up in debug mode

Turned off all mods (mainly only Rt56 and Naval Rework)

Deleted all my save files

Deleted the Paradox Launcher files

None of this has worked, if anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it!

If you really had deleted everything hoi related at the same time and a reinstall didn't help while you only try to load the base game without any mods I sadly can't help you. Seems like a very specific issue. Maybe some ios update broke something.

You can look into the crash report and error log to see if you find anything there, but the game has so many errors it can be hard to find the right reason.

The issue doesn't occur if i launch the game directly instead.

Do a full clean reinstall of hoi4

Delete everything hoi4 related in steam, appdata, programfiles and documents

Probably high ping, are you joining random server in hoi4 mp menu or in a deidcated server?

First: you probably have very bad internet, or you have too many apps opened (browsers and messengers especially)
Second: the host is probably too far away from you geographically, or again, you have too many apps opened

Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Hearts of Iron IV (this is not the game install) and delete the history, map and localisation folders. They are file dumps meant for modding which the game sometimes generates by mistake (PDX should really make those only load in debug but here we are)

In your case, localisation is the important one, although if the other ones are there delete them too

After you've deleted the launcher, verify integrity of files on steam

And after its verified, try launching it again. If it doesnt launch, then reinstall the game

Ive been getting this visual bug my past two games. Theres a chance its mod related, but i dont have any known conflicts and have not experianced any before-hand. I've had this bug in two games and occurs every time i declare war on greece, or war in general. I only have by blood alone as a dlc, and My mods are: Road to 56 rt56 expanded, ship designer universial, PSH light ideology icons, better mechanics extended projects (Tested with mod inactive and bug still happened), better mechanics strategic view true coal icon, awexs formable nations, and LambGeoplus Models Icons (Have not tested yet), more ship names, and Vintage Map Mod

Unless your Laptop is ancient it should at least load the game and then lag to hell if it's too weak. You can try to verify files through steam or reinstall

If I understand you correctly you want to clear your steam downloads and pause them? You can try pausing auto updates for Hoi4 and then repeat your steps. Else probably look at some help pages dedicated to steam
