Okay, for anyone following along:

1. I have uninstalled and re-installed the app
2. Set it to never sleep.
3. Unrestricted it's battery access.
4. am on a 1 gig wifi network, with full bars of 5g in the background.

I'm receiving messages just fine.

I've discovered that:

1. if the discord app is open on my desktop, I receive no messages on my phone.
   a. I tested this by having a person send me a message, which i recieved, but did not get a notification for.
   b. Then completely closed the desktop app. I got messages for all incoming messages while the desktop app was closed.

What's next with this, open a support ticket to ask if this is the intended behavior?

There's a "push notification inactive timeout" in the Notifications settings inside Discord - if you're not using your pc for that set time, you'll get the notifications in your phone, have you already checked that?
