I'm using gravastar with cherry keycaps on my 60HEV2. The switch selector is amazing and believe it or not I can type perfectly without accidental keypresses due to the stability of the Gravastar UFO switches. These switches are next level.

Hey everyone! I had an idea for a modular 'knob' for the 80HE that doesn't require any extra electronics on the PCB.

The concept: It uses the existing Hall Effect sensors. The knob would have an internal screw/thread mechanism with a magnet attached. As you turn the knob, the magnet moves up or down. The HE sensor on the PCB detects the height, and the software translates that height into volume or other settings.

Basically, it’s a mechanical 'analog slider' in the shape of a knob. No extra PCB tech needed, just the mechanical part and some software mapping. How feasible do you think this is? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I managed to tear apart 2 UFO's when I was pulling them out of my v2 regular. It seems harder to put them back together than take them apart when pulling them out of a CF plate. I ended up tossing them.

So if you do manage to take them apart to lube them, good luck putting them back together.

by the way for those curious on pure stability testing the ufo are well ahead of everything else for purely physical stability

basically what I can gather from the stability testing we've been doing is that most of the 'i'll wobble a switch and see how much change it detects' methods for testing switches is only one aspects of it and you also need the keyboard to have a custom curve for that switch

so a lot of times you may see a particular switch perform better on the 'wobble and check change in measurement' method that a lot of reviewers like to use, but that data isn't actually accurate because it's not calibrated as well for the non stock switch that doesn't have a custom curve set for it

jade ultra and split stems also didn't see any markably 'better' improvement in overall magnetic stability, at least not enough to counteract the biggest factor of physical stability

Other than being able to hear the mic vibration, Cullinan sounds very clean. There's almost no peak that's discomforting. Jade is a step down but not too bad. Nova I don't really like much in this.

it's probably the pa12 reverb you're hearing

it's why i dislike pa12 sometimes, it goes lower but you get more feedback/reverby sound

on sennheisers I dont hear any vibrations from the mic like in one of the first sound tests sno did, it could be just some bass from spacebar, can't really escape it fully

since that mounting isn't attached to the desk the vibrations don't follow through from the desk, i tried shockmount with desk attachment before and it didn't work enough

ended up still having to detatch entire mic from table to another separate mount before i could remove vibrations from typing
