Hey, I just finished mounting my new 60HE V2 in the Alumaze60 case. The PCB is now secured with 4 screws and the board sits perfectly flat.

However, the USB-C port has a small amount of wiggle. It doesn’t disconnect if I just move the cable slightly, but if I pick up the keyboard or slide it across the desk it sometimes disconnects.

Is it normal to wiggle a bit? Could something be slightly misaligned inside?

Stabilizer pads, they're placed under the stabilizer where the stem makes contact with the pcb. What it does is it dampens the bottom out or impact of the stem hitting the pcb. Like dakon said it's an alternative to the bandaid mod.

But one thing about them is if lube gets on it, the bottom out become really sticky
but really its the same case even without the pads, but typically with the pads its much worse with the sticking effect

it helps make ur spacebars, enters and large keys less loud basically

Another thing about these stabilizer pads, they also help with stabilizer housings fitting much tighter onto the pcb to ensure a secure fit, although it doesn't really matter at all cus its the fit is already secure without it

Hello everyone, before installing the keycaps, I’d like to make sure I didn’t assemble anything incorrectly.

I purchased the 60HE V2 PCB and an OWLAB 60 case. After receiving them, I only opened the case and placed the entire PCB inside. It feels like a perfect fit.

I didn’t remove the small silicone pads on the bottom either. Is this the correct way to assemble it, or should I remove those silicone pads?

Finally installed my new Tikken "switches" and springs (although it is a bit wasteful to buy 2*120 stiffer springs and use less than a dozen) and am so happy. Now I only need better keycaps. The wooting ones are suck huge salty chocolate balls. Yes, even/especially the double shot ones. None of the tertiary functions are visible. Light doesn't goes through, so it isn't visible with backlight nor even when I shine a light on it. So I resulted to glue effing stickers on. I have bought 3rd party ones that can do it, but those are made for keyboards with the LED at the bottom, so the main function is also printed there. Which, I think, feels and looks wrong. I also have a few novelty keycaps that can distribute the light to the bottom of the key way better than both (wooting and replacement, you can't even tell on those where the LED is the bottom is as bright as the top, and way brighter than wooting), but they ain't made for typing (too high, even if only a mm [in cases]//textured surface that becomes gross). So there isn't an excuse that the bottom part of the key isn't illuminated.
Anyone knows a good replacement?

Your best bet seems to be to design your own keycaps using a service like yuzukeycaps or goblinkeycaps

Because your wants are very specific, I think that would be the easiest to tick all the boxes for you

Look into gateron jade emeralds. Not interchangeable for when it triggers, but has a tactile bump/feel. Usually people will set their acuation point to the point of that bump

i have the extreme in my board right now

they sound kinda thin but typing on it feel really good

if you want a overall better sounding clacky switch i would stick with ultra

my board sound so bad
