i needa install split spacebar on my 60 again
no
vella is center usb
uses a daughterboard
so venom or rakka pcbs
the only center usb case that works is the zoom64
Yeah cause it has a little board from scroll wheel right
Only venom and other 60% MX boards iirc
I just need to get myself a rakka at this point
Gerhirn also, but have a feeling we're gonna see more popping up shortly
it has a usbc to usbc wire within the case, the others uses contact pins which the wooting doesnt have
Would be nice to see Woot Knobs before gehirn
It would be nice to see them at all
Let em cook, they doing something new
its still raw
Well nobody's paid for anything yet unlike some of baions failed projects that the gerhirn will be helping pay for
they still need help with bein paid 😭
i thought that was fixed awhile ago
with another gb
Na synovia and gerhirn still helping pay for those
i didnt think baion owed this much
the baion thing?
awhile ago they had a gb for a kb
but for some reason that i forgot they couldnt fulfill the orders
so a bunch of ppl spent alot of $$$ for no kb
and now they are tryin to refund those ppl with these gbs
thats what ik
it was spam, that happens pretty often
People keep falling for dumb crypto scams
I trust you, cuz you have signed the NDA

that's surprising, CNY just ended
Yeeee
My thing departed the day after the 14
After valentines
Right before CNY too
Wild
im lucky i bought my mouse a week before cny
Other than outrageous fees, I'm getting stuff from China to the US in under a week. I ordered something that shipped from Poland 2 weeks ago and it's still in Europe.
https://x.com/i/status/2024469019101974720 goddamn thats gorgeous
Looking for recommendations on RGB keys and HE switches. Are the black shine throughs that woot sell okay, or are there better?
If you want in your face RGB, looking into pudding style keycaps. I think the Wooting ones are good and done more tastefully.
Nah for in your face RGB you get PC keycaps
Switches are subjective on what's the best. Wooting has a pinned list of almost all compatible switches with links to how they sound. Look into reviews on youtube beyond that if you care about RGB performance. Something with a colored shell isn't going to necessarily be good for RGB.
Fair enough, I guess you can't get more RGB than clear or damn near.
wait why is keebox pcb mount stab cf plate iso and not ansi 💀
but their plate mount ver is ansi
Just get typeplus and call it a day
🙂
dont need to, i have extra clip in stabs from my rakka60 atlas
but thats kinda weird lol
Are the typeplus x yikb better than the knight v4? Or are they basically the same?
Same
In terms of gettin good stabs that are easy to tune
Although the yikb are a bit harder to put together but not rly
I have an extra set of the knight v4, didn't know if it was worth trying the typeplus ones if they were any amount of difference.
Nah ur good
Both great
You’d be throwing money away buying another set of stabs
Those yikb wires were an adjustment at first though
The only reason i swapped to yikb sets from knights is because they come in a 6 2u wire pack lol
yikb 7u wire
Knights need me to buy 2 kits to get enough wires for my split
Best 7u space I’ve ever used
Gn
hey guys i just got my Magnetic Wave Keycap Set, its amazing but the space bar doesnt fit...
it has two ''crosses'' off center
i dont even remember what stabs i have in my v2 ngl, i took the yikb out and put them in my 80he bc the rocking was annoying the life out of me with my dcf
i put some long pole stabs in the v2
the original design only has 3 ''crosses'' underneath.. and the two middle ones on the new space bar are offset it seems like it is not designed to fit my 60HE
That's normal just put the keycap on
My spacebar for example
Mine was like that and I physically could not tune them no matter what I did
my yikbs are pretending to be a mouse
Crap, I didn't think about the fact that I wouldn't have enough 2U for my 60 v2. I guess I'm buying the yikb and putting the Knights in my TenZ.
Hmmm... actually, I have enough. Because I only used 4 in my 80 HE, so I have the 5th from my first set and I can leave the TenZ stock.
But then I'd still need to buy another set if I want to swap the stabs in my TenZ.
Pfft, my brain hurts.
Yeah tf is that even about, did you ever figure out what was causing it?
Or hear me out. Tune up those factory stabs and make them sound amazing
U right
hell no
i havent even touched it since i got the 80he
how do i tune stabs
Send me it😈
Add more lube to them.
I don't have ping on my 60 v2 at all. There wasn't much to begin with other than the right space bar.
Maybe it's all in my head, but the Knights felt different in my 80HE aside from the sound.
Sound didn't really change after I added more lube to the stock ones vs the Knight V4.
nah im gonna blow them up
is the zinc v2 case for the 80he very easy to scratch?
I would link the sound test but I get timed out for that 🤔
Don't think anyone has one yet.
But I'd assume they would have fixed that since it was one of the main problems with the v1.
Im getting the kdbfans silver andoised silver case for my 80he any tips on what keycap colour combos go best with it
any, silver is so versitile
Was looking at red samurai and blue samurai
im also planning to get a silver gt-80 in the future and i already have caps for it
i already have a vision of what it looks like cause i have a silver gt-60
im using blue keycaps
Thats sick
heres my GT-60 (i havent fixed the alt and ctrl placement yet)
I wanted taros but cant find anywhere in stock
would also match brass accent pieces pretty well
I didnt fancy all the badges on my case
i dont either, im planning to get it with no badges and a matching silver side accent piece
whenever their next sale is
I went silver strap might get any anime strap for it
wait silver no badge is sold out?
well not like that matters, shippings gonna kill me anyways
You not getting with daughterboard
i have the tenz 80he, i dont need a daughterboard
I got the normal one so i got daughterboard and silver strap buckle
every prebuilt 80he has a daughterboard

I got it incase i ever need a spare
Sometimes i get heavy handed
fair enough
@robust siren rakka cheaper on taobao? I can't get a link because my phone just hates taobao for some reason
yeah
its 998 yuan but without switches
is it decent atleast
Could you send me the link?
Zoom 64 is like 80 bucks on taobao I saw earlier lmaooo
Did you not? I never heard what happened with keybay
hec no lmao, initially ordered a 7u spacebar unit and there was a pricing error
they canceled the order, amde me pay the difference and stuck me with a 6.25u
asked multiple times if it was 7u or 6.25u and they just kept saying it comes with a 7u wire which didnt even answer my question
i couldnt be assed to return it so i just kept it
its easier to warranty from keybay but its just more expensive
they changed the listing on their website because of me
i also cant access taobao
Lmaooo
What are the best cases for the 80he that i can purchase? Im from EU
well theres only a handful
Wooting Zinc cases
KBDfans GT-80
KBDfans Holy80
Ego80 (on aliexpress, GT-80 clone)
Bone80
idk if im missing one
Not too sure yet, maybe
You’re not, it’s that small 😭
count it on one hand
Which is why I went Vella, no fun 80HE cases are gonna happen
No I'm not 😭
https://m.twitch.tv/videos/2700823350
I have this link but no audio on my end
You know, you can have vods audio track without music
I don't use twitch so I wouldn't know
@cloud crane it is not your livestream?
No LMAO
@robust siren no official listings, tons of second hand ones on superbuy
i saw a few on taobao tho
oh well
I got the links, but superbuy doesn't want to recognize them
🇩🇪
anyone know the best stabs i can order for my wooting 60he module? tofu case
Knight v4 is what most choose
is this fine then?
yes
I wonder, why do we recommend the knights? What's special about them compared to others?
Because they're easier to work with, and they're one of the few options that properly fit the 60HE+ plate. Some other popular stabilizers like Typeplus, TX AP, and Staebies aren't fully compatible because they're too thick
Clearrr

@fluid ravine mx black clone
Question for the modding fans here, I’ve got a 60hev2 module & switches arriving today. I’ve also got a tofu redux 60 as well with a weighted plate.
First time doing all this. Is it best to change the internal module plate to the foam (I think it’s foam?) one that comes with it instead of the default one inside? And then screw mount the weight in the case, add the EPDM foam and then screw the module to the case?
No, use the module as it is, then screw one screw in the top left to ground the module. Preinstalled friction fit pad provides cleaner and more consistent sound across the board. Using provided foam and fully screwing the module in the case won't sound as good
You my friend are a hero, is it still advised to add the foam before adding the module to the case?
You only use provided foam sandwich pad when your case isn't friction fit compatible. Tofu60 Redux is compatible with the v2 friction fit, so you don't need to use the foam at all
Yes, you can add a case foam if you want. Will make sound less hollow
Makes perfect sense, so literally just add weight bar, and case foam. then screw the module in (top left only)
Correct. You don't need to fully screw in the screw btw, just install it loosely in the top left
Legend, thank you so much.
There's this video https://youtu.be/yFVUqHdHFVI
Older Wooting cases and third party 60% cases (such as the Tofu60 Redux) are not electrically grounded when friction fitting your Wooting 60HE(+) or 60HE v2. Here's how to fix that!

has anybody heard of keysnap/pcbsnap?
just wondering if maybe that might work with my wooting 80he
to use without pcb foam
Not really designed for our 80he so it shouldn’t work
I mean you can already use foam gasket no?
did u perhaps know of any way to use a foamless 80he? without silicone / foam gasket?
the plate foam gasket?
yes
I had a theory but it would be very weird and would require a lot of modification
ah i was trynna look for a completely foamless, no silicone / foam way of using it
i was thinking either maybe try an oring or pcb/keysnap
hit me
If you‘re down to try i can tell you what i came up with
Basically you get a custom plate with tabs where the silicone blocks are on the sides
Then you need to cut the silicone blocks off the sandwich pad to have them separate
And then you need to cut into them slightly so that the plate sits flush on them again
ooooooo wait that could genuinely work, cuz then the poron plate foam comes with traditional poron gaskets and i can just create an overhang on the plate file so that they rest on that like a normal poron gasket
Basically you just use the silicone blocks and use the plate to secure the board against them
Can someone confirm for me these will work on my 60HE v2?
I just found this on AliExpress:
TYPEPLUS X YIKB Screw-in Stabilizer Customized Mechanical Keyboard Accessories PCB Screw Satellite Axis PCB 100% Layout Gaming
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EGhzk0C
Most annoying part of this concept is that you‘d have to destroy a silicone sandwich pad which is not sold separately
(split spacebar with one button original stab)
Or is it smarter to just buy the 4 small stab set?
And you‘d need to make some precise ass cuts to have the plate be flush with the top of the silicone blocks, while being uniform accross the whole keyboard
ooo i was more thinking of using the poron gaskets, instead, cuz the place i got the poron foam also shipped with like these things, wouldn't just resting the plate on these work? like one above and below?
ahhhh yeah thats true
If you have a metal case you could also do some modifications on that and poron gasket it that way
But that sounds even more annoying
Should work with split space yeah
I think thats what sno said
i do have the gt80, not the default case, and currently its using the poron plate foam resting on a lot of those poron strips
ore60% looks interesting
Shipped to where
Belgium
Oh knight stabs are sold out on deltakeyco 🥀
Yeah idk but honestly you should be fine just tuning the stock stabs
@little glen neither rakka or venom aren't compatible with 60CU mostly because hidden screw design creates interference with the pcb

Jed is going to have a day ™ when he wakes up
love that erik came up with a bunch of new work he should do
Yeah, Jed is perfect for this. All the things.
I seem to have acquired a few new roles this livestream
Yup
I like pink
i mean id choose the red
i would go pink > blue > red 🙂

all of them are just too much i think
evangelion is my fav anime of all time but i think this is ugly
Neither, the fact that each choice has white caps in it is disgusting
hmm, hub soon i guess
Look at that lovely AI logo at the bottom
yea
its to see how it would look
im choosing this, eva 00 with white zinc
Oh alr
Great use of ai tbh
I love the new nano banana from Google
Looks great
Maybe look at the gt80
you gotta write the prompt really well to nanobanana, if you dont, the AI will post random shit
Or like bone 80 or something
Have you looked at those other cases?
Personally I really like the looks of the gt80
yes but white zinc v2 is cheaper
Hmm okay
but im worried about scratches
The V2 should be fixed
if its really easy to scratch then im not interested
Knobs when
GMK Selene when
hey guys, i just orderd a v2, ive never really dabbled in modding/ customizing keyboards. i might eventually be interested in switching key caps since i can do it with the v2. would it effect the performance at all and what are some good sites? im pretty big into anime, but anything with cool design would be appreciated.
You can buy good keycaps from sites like: pbtfans, gmk or osume
Keycaps don't affect performance (unless you care about the texture of your keycaps)
thank you , ill check it out. appreciate it
heres a link of vendors based on region
Are you swapping out your switches or nah?
Honestly if you just care about gaming the Lekker tikkens are great
They are much better than the Lekker v2's
me? lol idk ive been watching some videos of ppl doing alot of customizing. i dont wanna mess anything up, switching the keycaps looked relatively easy though 😂
appreciate you
It is
Honestly changing out switches isn't that hard
But that's probably for people who care about the sound
i currently have the logitech g915, didnt realize the keyboard wasnt very customizable at the time. once i get my v2, and i mess with it a bit, i might look into doing more with it. the sound sounded pretty good from the videos i watched, ecspecially with the foam instead of silicone.
Does the 60he v2 module not come with any case foam?
Is that only when ordered as a full unit
Correct, case foam is with the case not the module
i wish i could get a ghost case like the one from the wooting 80he tenz takeover for my wooting 60he
flux60
thats a module...
i dont want that weird glow case tho, i just want like a cool nice black translucent case
Hello guys, I have a quick question. I just finshed my custom build for the wooting. I just have one problem. Somehow it feels weird typing on it. First it is very quit and second i have to use significantly more pressure while typing. I use a tofu60 redux case with the brass weight. Anyone knows what the issue might be ? Im pretty sure also didnt use too much or too little for the lubing
I hope someone can help with this. I already postet in community support as well.
did you switch the switches or are they stock?
sounds like overlubing
I didnt
geon raws
Yea sounds like you overlubed them. Did you lube the magnet area?
No I didnt
I am pretty sure I didnt
I used as little as possible
I didnt touch the magnet area
post a video
Wooting has some soundtests
Also there are some on YouTube
One sec
I did
So maybd you'll get some inspiration
That's why they feel sluggish
u shouldnt
U mean were the magneti s
how are u supposed to put it in if u cant bend the cable
if thats what u mean no
I watched a tutorial on youtube that has is pretty popular
Unplug it
show me a picture pls
I am too dumb
sorry

Tool I used to...
I did exactly what he did
Was that wrong ?
when u take the switch apart theres the stem which is the plastic part inside
Listen
dont lube the upper part, just the sides
then what im confused
so like a trampoline
u hit the corners its harder
and its softer if u jump more in the middle
and here I am thinking I did something wrong
That's the friction fit right?
seems fine
no all mountings honestly
alpha keys will sound brighter once the lube settles
also bigger keys on the sides will always sound louder
there is something like pressing against, its not smooth
thats the best way I can explain it
like the top part of the keypress travel when u slightly touch it?
yea thats the part u cannot lube
its just a geon raws issue
even stock factory lube has the issue
Damn
yeah, if you want to fix that, you'll need to wipe the lube off the stem and the top housing
like where the stem touches the top housing
And something else. Every time I close the wooting software my keyboard starts bugging. Like it’s doesn’t type anymore, rgb changes etc
disable RGB software in the background
u need to make sure the profiles are saved and active
I did
I did
replug
I’m gonna restart my pc
This is so weird
It seems to work now
I hope it stays that way
I was thinking buying gravastar switches
they sound amazing
but 80 euros is crazy
a lot of people here like it yea
i mean its a little ex for my liking as well
i think the ttc and flux just broke everyone's sense of value lol
dont the gateron jade sound almost like the geon raws
ITS HAPPENING
They're both clacky, but a bit different
Jades are deeper
gotta wait for the epoxy to cure
would you recommend me to switch to the jades
No
ok
So I am good for now with the geon raws
man lubing these switches was a pain in the asss
raws are fine
Most of the newer gen switches will be upgrades from RAWs, so whenever you feel like you want to upgrade them you can
Should be hitting the new switch cycle hopefully
When the day arrives and you want to swap them, buy a new switch puller
(TX AP/Wuque titanium puller)
RAWs are going to be a bitch to remove
Honestly I didnt struggle with that at all
I had to remove a couple today
wasnt that hard
honestly, putting them in was harder than removing them
I wasnt haha
type shit
I bought separate ones
bought the keyboards just for the wooting pullers
i have 2 other switch pullers so im fine
one from TX and the other is the gateron 3in1
cool
I am going to buy new ones as well
man I have to get used to the wooting... its so fast haha
theres also a tx 5in1
every single error is being registered
but 2 of those uses are kinda useless
haahah
I’m glad you have a competent puller tho, the Wooting one is a bad time for RAWs
brute force the raws out
the raw way
I’m surprised I didn’t break mine getting raws out
white microplastics everywhere
anyone else struggling with this ? Or do I need to change the actuation point
I was white knuckling that shit and it never moved
you can just change actuation points
i have seperate profiles for typing and gaming
what do you recommend for simple typing ?
you can also just lower it gradually over time if youd like
like anywhere between 1.5-2mm
🙂↕️
i have my spacebar on like 3mm tho
typing on .1 is painful
I use 0.5 for typing
1.5-2mm is the standard actuation range for most mechanical switches
.7 is what i used now
so itll feel "normal"
but yeah back to the gravastar switches. 80 euros for 90 peaces is crazy.. At that point I can just go for a whole keyoard
they are so useful for my typing profile
buy official flux pricing
what is that
180 for 90 pieces
jesus
factory reselling leak prob
Are they worth it ?
I dont know where u got the 40 bucks from ?
anyone?
Holy guys I just discovered my new favorite switch for the wooting: Gateron magnetic moonlight
Like a slightly dimmed version of the jade pros
come again ?
35 for 90
send me the link pls
no, msg was for shankz
merci
most of those sellers aren't available in Germany
damn bro
yeah not available in germany
u can’t the cable js doesn’t allow for any bend
there is no way to get the gravastar switches off market cheaper right?
only from there official website ?
damn bro, so dissamble the whole thing again and go through each switch
Thats so exhausting.
Let it break in first, it might get better
okay. fair point. I just finished the build
Was it wrong to screw-in the motherboard to the case ?
I see people on youtube that use tape to cover the corners, is that something that suppose to help ?
On ali its probably cheaper
cant find them on ali
Hmm
Maybe they dont ship to Germany
Or something
What sound profile are you aiming for?
UPS
creamy.
gravastar is a good example
So like a deep poppy sound?
yes
I have keytok nova's in my wooting
Ain't it chief, that listing
I thought the geon would be it, because I watched sound tests on ytb but it doesnt sound like it at all..
One of the deepest sounding switches rn
Thats an bright sounding switch
gonna look it up
Also the board is the sum of its parts
doesnt sound bright on my keyboard at all
like at all
117$ for 90
That's thd issue...
I bought with a discount code
That was patched in a week
I can only find 10 pcs on their website
which module and case
true and real
keyword transparent
60 he v2 module and tofu60 redux
The foams and the plate also affect the sound
Did you swap the silicone friction fit pad with the included poron layer?
nova nova nova
no
but the body is, the case is
Then why did you screw in the module?
people on youtube say u should
oh icic
I just watched tutorials
You watched wrong tutorials
This a keyboard or a flashlight?
and even if, I tried both with and without and not a big difference
by the looks of my sh1t picture it's colored semi transparent stem
It is bright
Honestly every switch should be transparent
both, multi purpose input device
its multiple pieces
so I should not screw the module that was wrong ?
That's the whole point of friction fit, you don't use any screws
Ok I will remove them
One moment

Remove all of them except the top left one
keep it there for grounding
Make it a bit looser if you fully screwed it in
Thank god it's just a few more weeks to early March, time for case and to begin Invasion Phase 2 👽 🛸
Ok let me watch the videos make the changes and get back to you
You need to watch the first half of the first video btw, ignore the second part
ok
Should I remove all keycaps and switches again while going through the process ?
or keep it ?
no need to remove all keycaps
ok
remove all screws except the top left one and that's all
top left should I keep ?
alrigh
Keep it, but make it a bit looser
ok done
I did it right to put the geon raw switches with the silver thingy on the top side right ?
sry hard to exlain
Like that
yes
Mah man, cable bussin
that's the correct orientation
Is bussin good
Im sorry for asking so many questions. But is it bad if the white foam between board and plate is a bit bended
?
there was no other way, every time I added the screws the bended a little
zoomers use it all the time in the context of something positive, so i figured it must be good
Thanks brother
Try removing the module and then put the top side in the case first, like shown in this picture
ok all done
quick reminder, I dont have the wooting case I use the tofu60 redux case
but I did exactly what was said in the video
I dont hear any big difference to be honest
It's the same for Tofu, just need to use one single screw in the top left to ground the module
I did that
Thank you for the help
but Like I said not a big difference sound wise. I guess thats just how it sounds like. Maybe its because of the brass weight that I added in the tofu
The new KING IS HERE!
Wooting 60HE v2 is basically the original, but maxed out: true 8k pilling rate, improved sound and a new split space bar!

I watched this guy before and he screwed in the the whole keyboard
but nvm.
Hey guys I have a question about custom keycaps for my Wooting 80HE
I wanna get these ones I saw online but I have no clue if they’re compatible with my keyboard or not
Shinseiki ("new century" in Japanese) represents our take on the ever popular 'EVA' colorway. Electric green and bright red legends come alive as they jump from the subtle purple base to provide a loud and vibrant keycap set. Take this set further with a fully green accent/macro kit, or surrender control with the novel
I have the base model Wooting atm and I’m not very familiar with modding keyboards so I thought I’d come ask the pros
They're compatible
Fuck yes! Tysm!
I wanted to make sure to be safe cause I didn’t wanna spend that money without knowing if they’re compatible or not (would’ve been PAINFUL they arrived and not working for my keyboard)
99% of the keycap sets are compatible
then you probably need to like change it or something
Thats how they sound like. Youtube and having them actually in front of you is a big difference.

I managed to find 70 pcs for 55 euros. Is that good?
like
idk if it's too tight but it's not clipping in
Not bad
plate issue?
Are these the deep clacky ones. looks like the pink lotus
merci
Ok I am going to try these. I am going to order those
They sound better than the gravastar.

All of these links dont work for me
Not available for them, because Germany
neither?
rip
none of them work
ahh
if you send me the names of the switches I can look them up myself
Same switches, just different sellers
ahm thats odd, cause the formatting tells you that, and that reaction suggests you haven't even checked the listings lol
No I just checked. If I change the region to US it shows me the oage
when I go back to germany and it doesnt show up
weird
In any case 55 euros for 70 pcs is not bad I think
Right ?
70 euros for how many pieces?
damn bro
germans getting scammed hard
let me try a different browser
47,49 EUR fo 90 right now, damn
might just get a set afterall next month
Nope, not me
Not bad as I said. People still buy Gateron switches for that price, Fluxes for that price is still good
Unfortunately I cant get them any cheaper
the thing with aliexpress is that it search function is shit as well
sometimes it doesnt show the best offers
I think Ill just stick with the 70 pcs for 55 euros
I dont think I will get any better offers
what are some good switches for a creamy feeling for wooting 80he
Geon raptors trust
Gloopy tappy
hahaha
I just listened to them. I dont know, I think they are okay
They aren't creamy by any means, there's no creamy switches at all for he haha
I dont believe any of these youtube sound test anyways. most are highly edited and dont sound like that irl at all
Ok. I finally found the issue, why I am not getting the poppy deep sound. The foam that comes with the tofu60 it completely isloates the sound. Gonna buy a new foam
any suggestions ?
Tried foamless?
Do that
Was just about to say
Could also try poly fill
Is that really better?
Ok. Im going to try
Just try it man takes like 3 minutes to swap
one momen t
I know n
Use some dense foam
Not too much
If you stack too much foam in a build then you'll be rejecting sound causing a mini clack
Im going to send a comparison video so you can give me ur opinion
You're using the redux right?
Yes
Earlier when you were talking about not noticing a difference between friction and not friction fit. The idea of friction is to reduce reverb. I use the same case and the spacebar can sound bad when you aren't using friciton
Not eliminate. Reduce
Pftt same thing

So what you would u recommend now?
Naur
So without the foam it sounds better
A different case, Im not a huge fan of the redux rn only because it's annoying to get sounds right, but that's just me lol
Better is the wrong word. Its just poppier.. if that makes sense
and its not that quiet anymore
but its not a huge difference
The foam is not a necessary part of the build btw
It's safe to leave out if you prefer
I couldnt find any better for the wooting... everyone is glazing redux hence why I bought it
Try removing the pet film?
you mean the black one in the middle
Nooooooo
Heres my personal suggestion about the redux, what we know is that its a really pingy and hollow case, I suggest all redux users to fill in the case cavity with weight as it will increase the density and will be less pingy. Foam wise, any dense foam works and personal favorite poly fill. Main focus here is to decrease or eliminate hollowness.
Im new to this stuff
Are we copping new mx black clone 🅱️hockson
I need to buy some poly fill and try it myself
Oh yeah I saw your pinged earlier in the morning at school
Gotta check it put
🗣️ 🔥
It's great
Fucking love it but I dont use it in any of my build lul
Did u remove it as well?
PET film is a thin plastic sheet that goes on top of the pcb. It's used as a sound acoustic modifier that tends to aim the mid frequencies and slightly lower the highs. It's like a filter
Preference
It's like saying tape mod vs no tape mod
It's not a need
Man all of this confuses me. All I want is a nice sounding keyboard haha
The store right next to my work has some for like 5 bucks, I'll pick some up tomorrow
It takes time to understand how everything works ye. More knowledge is better
I will try out poly fill
W
Unless I have some poly fill upstairs lmao, let me check
Now I see people saying on ytb that tightening up the screws with the case and board will also change the sound
Nobody has perfected that nylon blend like cherry yet
Time to murder a pillow

Cotton blend version, normal poly fill is pure polyester right?
Or I have this also lmaoo
Use this one
Figured
why do u have this at home lol haha
@bleak jolt does your redux also have a deadzone in the middle of the board? Like on the G key
yes
What mount?
by deadzone u mean the screwhole right n
Are you using tray mount right now?
let me send u an image
I've had it with both mounts
sup debtson
That’s my redux with the brass weight installed
@fluid ravine didnt you grind off the standoffs in your tofu
Yeah
Antything I should change here
try without the brass weight?
Piss poor sound environment, but the middle keys have a deadzone, real annoying
I have the same problem
difference between audio 1 and 2 ?
Look at the names
Rty, fgh, and vbn are the 3 key sequences In the middle of the board, other is on the left side of the board
superior method
Any other mount>>>traymount
oh that reminds me
i gotta swap back to split spacebar
but ill do that another day
It's still there with friction fit😭
@fluid ravine thoughts on blue vs white spacebar with white first row
Thats what happens when the the pcb makes contact with the case
How would I go about fixing that on the tofu? Removing the middle standoff?
Why use the middle standoffs on first place
Yes remove the middle standoff
you mean brass weight?
Less direct contact with the case is always better
Thats why I grinded off all of my standoffs in my tofu
bro I have so many standoffs here
rip
Plateless >>>>
Ooo yeee
Not really
Silicone standoff covers works better
When my +84 arrives maybe I should try plateless with pcbsnap 🗣️ 🔥 🔥
Theres only 4 lol (5 if you use the middle standoffs)
I remove the silicon covers at the back side of the board, was that a bad idea
Id use it tbh
I like standoff😭, only issue is that I need to ground the pcb in some way right?
ok I will put them back
Dont need to
nah rawdog it
Tbh I don't think you need to ground the pcb with any screws at all with friction mount
i dont ground the rakka in the gt-60
Plus doing so will create the hotspot directly to wear that screw point goes
you do unless youre using the v2 or optimum case
Because it adds pressure with the pcb and case contavt
Eh?
v2 and optimum case have the metal sponge
i mean you can sand down the finish on other cases for that too
Thats there just to avoid any electrical zap that can potentially happen which is very least likely

We top mounting that bad boy
Ye top mount alu first then after I can experiment whatever
🤤
Gn
Final product
thats how it sounds like
ignore the background noise
Thats with the foam that comes with the tofu60, installed brass weight, i covered the standoffs with tape
that also with the silicon covers.
@bleak jolt @fluid ravine cerakey, tofu redux, tikkens, poly fill, friction fit, one layer of tape modding on fr4
And @robust siren cause it's kewl
titons
Very nice
can you send an image of the case
with the poly fill
I just got all the poly fill out of the cracks and I don't feel like doing that again lol
Understandable
haha
Nice keycaps by the way
Any suggestions for silver semi transparent keycaps.. something like the ones from gravastar
I would buy the ones from gravastar but u cant
how easy was polyfill to work with? i’d like to add it to decrease high frequency sound
Get a set of tweezers lmao
Not terrible, but it likes to poke out of the corners and you need to remove it
A handful, hard to describe lol. A thick enough layer that you can slightly see the bottom layer of the case
You really just need to play with it
Actually thinking about it after compressing it, it's probably a solid layer between the pcb and bottom layer
Can someone help, I’m trying to buy a wooting 80he, my first wooting keyboard but I want to make it as silent as possible. What mods should I add? And what switches, should I go for zinc alloy or not. I’m new here
Switches are gonna play the biggest factor, recommend checking out the #🪛│modding_faq for recommendations
Thank you
Hello everyone, just got the 60HE v2 and swapped out the stock EPDM foam for a different one underneath, it sounds noticeably thockier now which I love. Has anyone tried the PE foam mod to replace the stock foam? Is it worth doing or would it be overkill at that point? I have the aluminium case version.
Replace it with poly fill
so remove the stock foam and put poly fill beneath the board? thank you!
I just replace mine with poly fill and this was my results, definitely noticable that's for sure. #🔧│keyboard_modding message
okay i will try with that method thank you !!
are jade air switches any good?
im modding my 80 he and im torn on what switch to get
i get different suggestiosn everywhere i look istg
well yeah because switches are all perference
yeah but its hard to know what i like
the more i mod my keyboard to be deeper, the more i realize what i wanted the entire time was a clacky setup
something that's clean and has variation in pitch (like the spacebar having a lower tone)
It's the journey that everyone eventually makes. After that you realize that both are great and you need multiple boards so you can change between thock, clacky and creamy whenever your mood changes.
how hard is it to put on plate mount stabs
because rn its stuck like this
Silvers not really np, but mostly whites
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EwuPtC4
Uh oh
Wrong sizing
Gotta file or change the width/length
these are not it but thank you
will these work for the wooting 60he+
@young viper what is the full spec list for your build?
Tofu redux case
Knight v4 stabs
Lekker tikkens (soon getting kois in and may swap)
Fr4 standard plate (may soon be getting a cf plate)
Pet film
One layer of tape mod redone with standard painters tape
Friction fitted with a layer of poly fill on the bottom
Cerakeys matte greige
Wooting v2 module
You should try some of the silent switches on the list with some foam to mute the board
Original standoffs have an additional layer of tape on them as well with the middle 2 removed
I put WS Flux Deep Clack in my 60 v2 tonight. I like them. My Nova should arrive tomorrow. I'm going to put those in my regular 80HE. It was a pain getting the Lekker Tikken out of my 60 v2 and ended up breaking a bunch of the switches. I'll probably just leave the Flux in my 60 HE.
Keep in mind that silent switches are worse for gaming
I'll be killing too much if I go for more tape, issue with the poly fill is it kills every bit of high-pitched sound. I've been debating on a pom plate, but probably will go for cf because sound is bottoming out too much
why
Maybe try a POM plate
It has that dampening thing at the bottom
Which affects the actuation
that’s what you want though no? to kill all high freq waves
You want the sound you like
Not the deepest sound possible
It has a nice poppy sound(after adding some poron foam)
has anyone here had painters tape mod for a while? how does the adhesive last?
Lasts forever, just don't cover it with crap
wdym?
Polyfil is nice, but it "muffles" the sound is what I've found so far, so I need to either go for a poppier switch like a koi or a poppier plate to try and get the sound closer to being "clean"
Like dust and polyfil lol
nice
I may also get a new case, maybe the optimum or the gt60 which should hopefully support the pcb more in a way where I don't have a deadzone in the center of the keyboard
i’m going to switch out my silicone pad for poron, add some polyfill and maybe tape mod as well as add switch film to reduce lekker v2 wobble. all in tofu redux
You'd be better off getting a new set of switches vs buying the film ngl
maybe, but films are cheap and am going to try anyway
Fair enough, they're open bottom right?
I was thinking of a pom plate, but at that point I'd be too deep with cera and pom lmao
Are the standoffs in the Tofu 60 Redux not removeable?
The middle ones are, the ones on the outer edge aren't so it doesn't let the silicone bumps on the v2 pcb properly rest
Well crap. I ordered one today for my 60 v2. I guess I'll see if it bothers me that much.
Yeah, it makes a deadzone in the middle of the board where it's significantly quieter than the outer keys
Can't you just remove the silicone bumps?
That's a question btw, not me saying you can :v
You can. I didn't think of that.
You can, but the silicone bumps aren't touching anything in the first place because the standoffs hold the board
But if they affect sound, or did I misunderstand you?
You want the standoffs not to touch the board and for it to completely rest on the bumps
They don't affect sound when not in contact with anything, when they are in contact with the bottom of the case it removes the dead zone in the middle of the case
switch films arent recommended because they can create inaccuracies
O-rings and switch films are no bueno but people keep insisting on doing them
Boom a diagram
60he v2 makes full contact with the bottom of the gt-60 case if you keep the silicone bumpons on
Okay we want red(bumps) to touch white(case) to remove deadzone, but green (standoffs) is touching blue (the pcb) and can't.
Deadzone in the center?
since its also held by the silicone gaskets, the bumpons does make it a ton more stiffer and you lose the function of the gaskets
Alright you've sold me, where can I buy it
this is the only sound test i have on my phone
damn why is it so wide
KBDFans
im 90% sure this is dcf fr4 plate
Mostly out of stock there in seeing
i didnt have many other switches
because theyre in the middle of making a v2 👀
KBDFans makes it. You may find it elsewhere.
Alr now we're waiting on the v2 lmao
Or tofu 3.0 restock
Whichever comes first
anodized silver is still in stock on kbdfans
What would work with matter greige cerakeys lmao
oh the plates arent
Yeahh

I just got my GT-80 today, I didn't want to order a GT-60, that's why I went with the Tofu Redux.
you dont need the plate
try asking their live chat to see if they can add it to your cart since it forces you to get a plate
Holdup...the Styx? If they include a daughter board with this I'd buy it
the wat
Dude it's got lil moons on it, that's like my whole thing
i want to get a silver gt80 to match but thats just me
that doesnt look like a normal layout
why is the spacebar isolated
I have to use my TenZ more to decide if I want to get another GT-80. I don't really like any other of the other options for the 80HE. But I'm fine with the Wooting zinc case and I have both V1 colors.
It's not... Shit I'll still buy it lmao
Does rakka have the pins for the daughter board?
My GT-80 and WS Flux arrived today. Got home from work and put the TenZ in the GT-80 and the Flux in the 60 v2. I've been more excited to use the 60 v2 tonight.
Alr I'm on the waiting list for the Styx lmao
yes
it uses contact pins for usbc and the daughterboard
That's what I thought, but didn't know if I was tripping or not, thanks
i can take a picture tomorrow
see, lil moons
fuckkk i just saw the exploded view
i mean pft i could be a non he guy for this board
If you want a non-HE board, that has a moon on it, look into the Neo80 CU. It's actually my favorite non-Wooting keyboard. But it's packed up in my closet like all the others at this point now.
oh thats a super neat board. for a bit i was also looking into the ego60 and planning a build with ufo switches, but man it can be pricey
Theres a few more, i just dont have time to link it all while at work, i can in 7 hours
is ts tuff
lets admire this rq
@cloud crane whats the mx black kind of switch called again
