EPDM is typically used as a case foam dampener whereas PE foam is a PCB film which is used as a sound acoustic modifier (or a sound filter basically)

PE foam tends to raise the mids of the sound profile (or another way to think of it is it makes the board more "poppy" depending on the configuration)

Since they are two types of foam placement yes
however, typically in a HE board, wouldn't recommend using any PE sheet film like PE foam. It can raise the switches off of the pcb by like a few mm and can cause inaccuracy

Carbon fiber is a bright sounding plate that works well with higher pitched sound profiles. PC is a muted sounding plate with how it responds to sound frequencies. You can describe it as a "dead' sounding plate compared to CF where its bright.

What you would really expect is a board that is more muted, not as loud or sharp

All HE switches are in the clack spectrum

muted, deep clack, and all the way up to the loudest clack with their own variables

there's silent switches as well

you can prob take a 4mm switch like tikken which are on the muted end and work with it from there. But the top housing chatter kind of ruins the sound profile of the bottom out

im currently liking the sound of my geon raws tho, its clacky but not so bright especially after going from the steel plate to the CF plate, now im getting the pc plate hopefully can help make it lower pitched i guess

But this is my opinion, for people that tends to chase after thock, even though in reality it's really hard to impossible with HE (not saying that it is impossible, but im just exaggerating here), i think the best way to satisfy their wants in this situation is to build a foamy board

All "thock" boards you commonly see in the mx scene is mostly a board that is filled with foam
