If you want light springs MMD seems to be the play, DCF/Raptor V2 for best stability and tikkens/owlabs for good budget plays with decent stability

You should be able to get a PC plate for your V2 assuming you’re not getting split

If you want ‘thock’ I’d say either stick with plastic cases, or get a metal case and get kilmat or something else that’s a heavy dampening foam (poron foam also works, but less extreme) with PC plate

So I've been looking into switches with light difusers

They're pretty neat!

I was wondering if there are any well known tricks to get that sort of effect on regular switches?

Or any products that will fit the bill

Because I have POM translucent blank keycaps, and it would be nice for the lighting to be spread more evenly instead of having a clear bright spot at the very top of the switch and a dimmer bottom.

I think you might have a few of your mods mixed up but that's ok. My advice is to start slow and try one thing at a time.

Specifically the 80HE comes pre tape modded and with foam, hamburger mod is for tray mount cases so not possible with the 80HE which is gasket mounted.
Additionally cerakeys ceramic keycaps will need a heavier spring for the spacebar as the keycap is too heavy with stock springs

with TMR you can do off-axis sensing with one dimensional TMR sensors.

All TMR sensors currently used in keyboards are offset (X-Axis sensors) so they don’t conflict with the mounting pin holes on the PCB, the reason why Woot couldn’t do simultaneous split and non-split space support.

Also, there’s a possibility of decreasing the SKUs.

if you wanted to do the same thing with HE sensors you need HE sensors that can measure in 2 dimensions which are much bulkier, more power hungry, and more expensive.

yeah but the included cable functions fine, the only difference is aesthetic. if you want a coiled cable but want to be sure it will function, then get the wooting one
