Intuitively, you’d think the tactile bump should he the same as the actuation point, but in reality, very few heavy tactiles have their tactile bump synchronized with the actuation. It’s really not necessary or even “wanted”.

hi im using lekker v1 45g and i wanna try the 60g that came with my wooting uwu, in order to swap them do i have to unscrew the whole thing and like pull them out of the plate and stuff or can i just use a screwdriver and plop them out without doing all that

when looking it up i saw some people just using a screwdriver after removin the keycaps which is what i was gonna do but one of the videos on the official wooting channel says that can damage the switches

there are many methods to remove the

Switches

You can take apart the entire PCB and allat and then take the plate apart then pop the switches (Safer)

or take a switch puller and do gods work and pray you dont be an fool enough to destroy anything or parts (Risky)

Essentially Remove PCB From case aka unscrew > Remove plate on ur PCB > Pop mech switches like its bubble wrap > replace > Re attach pcb > Done

Removing keycaps just use a keycap puller with a switch remover tool combined if not a spoon is more effective in some cases

or get a wire and then pull it out

1k is fine, if you have modded your v1 and therefore don't care about the sound/feel upgrades, just stick with that

Consider just picking up the Lekker Tikken switches instead, way cheaper of an upgrade and will provide a big boost in overal experience

Nothing. The only reason is the 0.5mm extra distance for more precise dks and joystick.
Tikken’s are impressive mainly because it can have a closed-bottom AND the 4.0mm travel.

There is no functional benefit to running 2k or 4k versus 8k.
Any polling rate above 1k requires USB Hi-speed, as compared to USB Full speed (maybe I have the names backwards, I always get them confused)

Additionally, compared to mice, there is no additional CPU overhead to running 8k versus 1k because there are no calculations required. Keyboards at 8k measure absolute position: each check is "what is the position now?" Mice instead use relative position, where each new position requires a calculation from the last known position

Precision/performance is largely the same, for FPS I’ve enjoyed the more walled stem switches (TTC POM/Deep Clack flux) as it gives you great top and bottom stem stability, raptors are the best overall stem switch switch but YMMV on their spring crunch
