I do what I want Gateron Luminary shill
you cant play ranked in a soft bideo game
or get banned from marvel rivals
đ
ill still use my 80HE, can you say the same when v2 releases
@sacred elm why you keep pinging me? I'm trying to eat
@stray tiger my bad
what you eating @stray tiger
yum!
the benom boy huh
HAHAHHAHAH
ngl, it will be a huge banger if geon makes a 80he (wooting) frog / frog leggera

He stole my patented nickname for bigsly before I tried 60%
Itâs my creation đ„
What do you mean patented
Bro thinks he is Gateron
Youâre infringing upon my intellectual property
đ
You canât just steal my toxicity đ
bro wants to become gateron huh
Iâll be sending out a strongly worded IG post
Bro gets benom before I get ronin keycaps is CRAZY
Actually not bc geon ships in 30 mins
imagine not getting ur package by ups yet
Shockport is holding it hostage
Not even ups fault
If I donât get an update in 1-2 weeks I might have to charge back
Hopefully it wonât come to that, but if itâs still stuck on 5/30 label creation by then I wonât have much of a choice
They couldâve atleast just responded to my email but nope
Even OEM worldwide wasnât this slow and they have 1.6 stars đđ
Also tell Shafie to buy Xenns tea pro
im broke
And Sony A9 III
And the moondrop x crincle dusk 2
Na that's brokie iem he has subtonic storm
True his rich
and elysian annihilator
and elysian diva
and fatfreq king maestro
and thieaudio valhalla
anyone here online that have tested owlab and geon switches?
anyone else experience when gaming with owlabs like theres a rod in the switch when you press down on it
compared to geons i dont feel that tension. Wondering if thats due to how the switches are made or if its due to the heavier spring. Owlabs are 50g and geons are 40g
mmh looks tasty
for me no
they feel similar
although the diff could be cuz of the diff in bottoms
No but one thing I notice when gaming with RAWs or my Rawhuks is they have a bit of stickiness at the top sometimes
I didn't notice it for awhile but I saw few others mention it and once I noticed it, I couldn't not notice it lol
maybe im not explaining it properly and i apologize for it
No worries
with my geons 40g when i press all the way down it feels mushy and soft and when i press down with my owlabs 50g when i press down it feels hard like cement
which leads to my fingers fatiguing a bit when i game. Im also not use to the owlabs 50g switches
Interesting, could maybe be the springs
You can try spring swapping and see how they feel then
yeah i'll give that a try
Is it stock lube
??
Or did u lube it urself
i was just wondering if anyone else experience that situation before
theyre stock
thank you all for your feedback i'll swap springs and see how it goes
Common TTC POM W
Man reminds me I still need a plate for my Wooting lol
or Owlab W lol
Owlabs doesn't have that issue
Just RAWs and Duhuks I think
What you mean?
For what case
No, they feel similar to raw for me
And I have boh my raw and ti he at 50g
Do you have steel plate?
If you bought prebuilt then its steel. Order PC plate from wooting and swap your steel plate, its so stiff
Bottoming out will feel way softer with PC plate
friction fit pad and pc plate will make huge difference
Oh okay so you just need any standard Wooting/GH60 plate
You can get this and ground it
cant tell, @cyan lark might know
Anyone know why I have to pay for duties for my package from maxgaming even tho I never have before?
Ordered from them like 5 times now
Never asked before
ah I see a ping. @sacred elm must have pinged me when he saw the new prvke v4 bag being launched. Don't worry I saw it already https://www.youtube.com/shorts/wepB3a-VuYE

do i get wooting + gt-80 or tiger lite gaming + kbd8x mkIII
wooting will cost more, but it has software as a plus
Depends on your budget and what you prioritise
not really a budget, but the less spent the better
it's matter of what do u want to do to your keyboard
wooting has the analog funtionality which I want to try, but I don't know how worth it is
venom tkl is more for customizability
where wooting priorities performance and stability
I think i'd add some kind of foam or sound dampening to either one
for me, i will always prefer my wooting rather than my venom
because my priority is for tournaments and such
the main thing that's drawing me towards wooting is software and gt-80 in pine green
u can mod the wooting, but the case option is not as much as the venom tkl
wouldve been nice if it was true tkl
then get it
nah, i kinda like the 80he layout
ngl looks neat
even tho it's not as symmetrical as normal tkl
but i kinda like the lightbar and such
it helps for showing me which profile i'm using
and a (+) from wooting is backward capability
future products (knobs, etc.) will be usable for old stuff that has ARM chip
the lightbar is kinda nice
rest of the rgb doesnt matter as i'm gonna use raeds switches
oh, if u use multiple OS like me..
i suggest wooting, since venom makes a couple of bugs on the MacOS (lag, frame drops)
in my mind,
it worth the price
i bought gt80 as well
still on shipping
I might do it then. Wish it was a little cheaper though
What color gt80 did you get
dp
nah, worth the price
If you care about the warranty you might want to check this out as well: #đ§âkeyboard_modding message
Versus our 4 year warranty
true
even my 80he is defect on arrival,
and still waiting on the support tho
my gt80 case will arrive today

i think iâm unlucky about receiving my purchased itemsâŠ
my venom tkl from tiger lite had the jst port cover opened, but gladly can be fixed easily
but true,
both keyboard are intended for different markets
venom is introducing âcustom HEâ to custom enthusiasts
and wooting is for gamers who wants one of the best performance with the best stability
i wish more boards implement the analog feature in their software
but currently very few do
i know of wooting, sayodevice, and keychron that let you
u meant to say gamepad?
if so, the feature is not for everyoneâŠ
very few people who use it..
and please remember, that venom is a âcustomâ enthusiast pcb..
not prioritizing gaming features and suchâŠ
even they just started (2-3 months?) on couple of âreduce latencyâ like focus keys and such..
sayodevice implementation of the gamepad feature is not that good
they only make 60% anyway
i want 80
true, because their main audience are osu & geometry dash players
i'm not even sure how often I'd use the feature, but it would suck to be limited by software when the hardware could do it
it might be fun to mess around with
because they know itâs not as important as stability for nowâŠ
while wooting has it since their first analog keyboard(?)
I wish they made a modular chest rig/ sling
but damn thats some good gear
Yeah their prvke bag is the best backpack right now imo.
@sacred elm has expensive taste though and has been recommending the wotancraft 3.5l leather pilot sling
ive been running the mous bag
what's the optimal way to pull out a friction fitted pcb from the tofu60 redux?
pull the plate with tweezers
Whats the lowest travel distance he switch out there?
that is compatible to wooting?
Apparently those are only good for COD đ€Ł according to the goat fresh reviews
Oh the person I wanted to see
Yeah
@ shf
Not that guy
Not this guy
Not this guy
Not dis guy
Not dis guy
it'd probably be that new one I just added other day, that mchose apollo one that's 3.1mm
this is so nice actually
yeah it's probably the actual nicest small sling bag that doesn't look like a camera bag
Hi all, first time chatter here (and first time builder).
Im about to order the Optimum 60HE, and looking for advice to get the most thocky sound as possible. I dont have much experience with switches. Would any of you reccomend me some? đ Thanks a lot
Probably UR studio ice
I think theyâre the 3rd ones if you wanna check it out to see if thatâs something youâd like @stray adder
But thatâs probably the closest youâll get
Thanks a lot! đ Great comparison in this video
Iâd also keep an eye out for the new tikken switches that will be releasing with the new 60HEv2, theyâre supposed to be deeper sounding as well
They should be releasing some time Q4 this year
are the stabilizers on the 80he good, or should I replace them?
leave them unless you specifically have an issue with yours
Day 626 of waiting for the knob đ«„
Let go unc
Add on another 130 days
I live for the knob
And it lives for you
anyone have pictures of gt-80 in pine green?
ty
If you get it, pair it with GMK British racing and you got a fire set
those do look nice
I got marrs green recently, kinda want to see how it turns out with pine green case
@sacred elm can you explain the meaning of this to us non he-luminaries đ„
đ„ hope its not "luminary" switch
Jade Max V2 with a POM stem this time around. đ
Apparently it should be something different, but they are saying the same about green dragon and jade ruby lol
They said its DIY switch, maybe they will include different material parts
holy cope
If its good, I dont mind
makes lubing easier
only works if you subscribe to the streaming service
Holy cap
They patenting putting air in switches now
L brain drain

Buminaries bc they ass
âNew HE Switches - AstroAim
AstroAim switches offer a thocky profile, a lower pitched sound contrast to Astrolink's clacky feel.
While Astrolink could be a premium choice, AstroAim provides an excellent budget-friendly option without compromising the sound and performance!
We're constantly improving the sound and stability of our HE switches, and you'll first experience them on the new Akko TAC75 keyboard. They'll also be available for retail later.
Stay tuned!â
$0.01 per switch đ„
saved this
looks good
I loveee outemu đ„°
idk what this is supposed to be tho đ
Type shii
the bottom is flat asf lmao
Naisu, new switch
it gunna be thuddy
hopefully it'll be $0.25 per switch
Unaffordable
flat shaming?
tohcky
i'm skeptical of when switches claim to be budget alternatives. I feel they always downgrade the magnet they use
like ttc does with a lot of their non top tier line switches. Almost same but then they throw a cheapie magnet into it instead of the good one
its now sticking to the bottom if i press hard enuf
outemuâs have been fine
except for the ones that have smaller magnets but thatâs because theyâre a lot less strong.
still suspicious on the relation between magnet quality to strength inconsistency
That's nice
I do wish there was one in this color though
Looks more blue than green
Buy one and sandblast to back to bare metal n paint accordingly
sandblast or sand it
then use a matt clear coat at the end to protect the paint work
The yellow one too.
Only 2 switches on the tac75
Mmm, considering the price of the keeb, switches might cost $0.35
Can you get straight versions of the coiled cables
I want one for my mouse so it matches
the wooting coiled one comes with a straight bit
Im sure there's plenty of sites that sell after market cables. I'd check CableMod, that's the first one that comes to mind
What's the coupler fitting called in the coiled cable or is it a wooting special
FGG/PHG
I found that info âïž

Anyone have both the 461E and the GT60? Was wondering if it made any sense to upgrade from my 461E for the newer gasket mount design.
@stray tiger got it
5/5 maybe 6/5 if wildcard wins
But I have both tyloo and fly quest so that got me my 5th
Thank goodness lol
I was sweating for a second
hey everyone, can anyone recommend me good gray-ish high quality blank pbt keycaps that would fit well with the gray gt80 case?
Oh nvm I didnât read blank
And pbt
Nobody saw anything
I did!

đ„
Back when I was your age we didnât tolerate snitches
Hah I got 3 stitches
All on one arm

Imma spike keycaps on you

Equivalent to stepping on legos got it
black caps with a grey case looke fire ngl
Too cosmos pilled
I read too fast and skipped over a few important words
Like an old person reading newspaper
shouldnt you be working on upgrading that 15hz monitor of yours
I swear 60hz is still good enough to me
just like xbox users insisting that 30 fps is still good
Gimme like 1-2 months
"WOOOOAHHHHH STARFIELD IS GREAT ON 30 FPS"
Tbf, for most of my gaming time I only get 60fps on non competitive game
thanks, anything in eu perhaps? shipping is like 25âŹ
Had to see for myself if these live up to the hype, can confirm theyre very nice
Yay
Another having the tee hee switch
The tx switch puller on the other hand... managed to damage the very first switch i tried to pull đ„
I was wrong about the switch pusher
itâs fucking great
it just doesnât work with all switches
(similar to the puller)
itâs cute af too
đ„°
Thats true, i didnt push it down enough before pulling, but also because i couldnt see shit since its so big

Youâll get the hang of it eventually.
Then youâll be able to store up to six switches in the puller itself and dump them out in a container every time.
đ„°đ„°
The wooting 80he pcb is 1.6mm thick right? Meaning I donât need to use the included shims with the sw knight stabs?
Correct
isnt it upside down
?
shouldnt the clear part be on the top?
Yeah but if you don't use rgb it don't matter
i see
Cherryâs magnetic switch. Not sure if itâs even manufactured by Cherry or if itâll be compatible with Wootâs boards. The bottom housing either is from Hejin or they shared the mold with Cherry. Very weird.
Smaller magnet.
More holes in the bottom housing for heat dissipation.. đ
MX 8.2 PRO TMR definitely by the same OEM as MonsGeekâs FUN stuff.
Same off center TMR sensors and magmech compatibility
Huh, soo many OEM
At least it can even the playing ground for people that can't afford wooting.
Soo expensive, $200
Hopefully it's as good as woot 80
Surely..
Assuming FUN60 Ultra performance, it isnât great.
Accuracy will be good and single-key latency as well but thatâs about it.
Yeah big fan
first time I used it, it slipped off of the switches and then got stuck. it was kinda a pain so I didnât try it again.
tried it recently and put the switches in the pusher instead and it worked great
no longer sore fingers after installing new switches đ
MangoHE is getting there
Send
Prove yourself worthy
I love mango
How much crunch do you have
Crunch
Ok keep an eye on your mailbox
đč
Do I need to use the little rings that come with the sw knight stabilier screws with 80he
Since the stock ones donât have those either
I crunch mango 4 times a day, 20 times a week
Goated server tagâŠ.
Talking about these red ring things
You just put the red things on your golden screws before you screw the stab into your PCB
yea those are washers, apply them like varedis says
they prevent the metal screws from scraping the solder mask off the pcb and eating into the metal layers, causing issues
so i would say they are essential as well
Aight thanks
Just got done lubing
Hope theyâll be decent first try because idk if I can be arsed to remove them again when Iâm done lol
you can always fix it later on with syringe lubing btw
Donât have a syringe at hand atm but yeah maybe later
yo wtf we got the same color too đ„đ„
yeah those things are really fucking divine for HE switches especially ime
those side clips make them much harder to push in than regular mx
I got the red pusher, red CNC puller and white goated puller
for hejin stuff itâs great
my tx puller is unfortunately yellow because every other was oos at the time đ„
đ€ź
Color doesnât affect functionality so it doesnât matter
but yellow is dogshit
i got cursed into getting yellow twice on switch pullers
yellow tx puller, gold ws puller
at least ws puller gold is more of a dull gold instead of bright yellow
it almost looks like brass irl
that i dig
yeah
tx should release a non painted version tbh
the paint chips off over time anyway
this is why i hate spray coated/ecoated stuff where it could be raw/anodized
keyboard cases especially đ
their new âeverything in oneâ is raw and it looks sick
i kinda have already built up a toolbox so i dont see much justifying getting one
u guys think its worth getting a tx puller even though i own the ws one
just the multi keycap pulling Iâm interested in
i suppose they might make sense for newbies though
if you care for speed, yes.
imo no
ws puller feels nice enough if you apply a bit of mouse grip tape on it
i def prefer tx for the wider body still
I never really like multi tools in the sense that Iâd want multiple of them for each purpose đ
(if they work well that is)
Oh my lord I forgot the silicone pad đ
yeah i think they only make sense for newbies or seasonal hobbyists who dont care enough to invest in discrete tools
Itâs okay I love unscrewing and rescrewing things
Screwing is fun
I didnât like their CNC puller much and it seems to be the same design so doubt Iâd like it for that
dedicated keycap puller that is plastic is nice though. rather use that the the metal wuque one
metal on plastic keycaps is scary
true, though i dont really care much for my 7 year old beater gmk wob set as much anymore
any pullar scar is just Patinaâąïž now
i already sold off the rest of my gmk collection đ
đ
its ok i enjoyed cashing out early instead of sitting on MM for decades later
Btw one of the pcb screw holes was for some reason really rusty
All the others were fine
Dunno whats up with that lol
fair
I have lekker switches flying all around the house
Because theyâre in so tight and when I finally get them off they fly off
The yellow ones are even more stubborn
My poor fingers
They are god awful to remove đ€Ł i was expecting similar with the jades but they pop out no problem
Jade Pros surely?
Rubies
My switch puller is half-broken
Itâs the only one I have atm so I hope itâll make it to the end
Disassemble the keyboard and pull from the plate
Ah, yeah. Those had both their bottom housing and top housing updated to make them not that painful to remove.
Alright itâs fully smoothed out
The easiest pull
5 switches remain
Some will say its fake
Granted no pcb but doing that with lekkers you have no chance
JESUS MAN
Iâm getting the flathead screwdrivers
These switches will not win
How are they in this hard
HAH I got one
Ok I got them all
Screwdrivers are meta
Or couldve popped them out from the bottom of the plateâŠ
Use screwdriver to disassemble the keyboard and then pop switches from the plate
That included switch puller is so bad, you are wasting time and hurting your hand
even with good pullers, pulling HE switches is just pure pain
definitely just take your time to disassem
That would be admitting defeat
Your words ring true
that would be respecting the durability of your fingers, actually
and your switches too
im talking about the top housing warping from the pulling force
surely an engineer would account for practicality no

Benom built
Yey
Commence gamer shine
Not sure what that is, but the case is Tiger Lite
Gotta put them to use somewhere
disgusting
Figure I'll bring this to my in-person work thing next week and show those kids I mean business
meanwhile I ordered my ronin keycaps 5/23 and i will be getting a mouse that i ordered yesterday before them
GGs
GG T_T
If it makes you feel any better I ordered this like 5 months ago
no switches are hard to remove if u just take it apart with the plate
Didn't get it. Wildcard and Fly quest lost. I got screwed with 5 of my picks playing each other. That's how it goes though
May be the most upsetting thing I see today. Same as the last time I saw it posted in here T_T
Alright both the stabilizer and the switches feel great
might have overlubed the spacebar stabs a little bit but not enough for me to bother going to fix it. Maybe it'll just even out in time
overall results are better than I expected
uhhh well this just happened
I was just doing some work then hear a crack from the spacebar stab.....
I think you could also just spam your space bar every now and again to speed up the process. has helped some keys i overlubed from previous sets
Sounds like your work is stressful!
guess its what i get for buying cheapo durock screw ins. I just checked all the other ones and they're fine. Guess maybe it was cracked when i installed them last year and it just slowly got worse.
beeenom nom nom its beeeeeenom
Play GD or any rhythm game
nooo dont
durocks are really ass among other options nowadays
Typeplus stabs
my beloved
i would recommend either
paigu/wuque stupid - 8$, zero rattle plug and play AT the cost of weirdly silent stabilizer sound, due to using aggressive TPU dampening
or
knight v3s - 22$, wire needs 205g0 syringed into but thats it
idk they are pretty mediocre
for me they are excellent
no need to wire balance, out the box, pretty easy to assemble, sound great, and they feel amazing.
you dont need to wire balance with any other stabs either...... (unless the wire is so crooked to the point where it is apparent, but this is not a real problem anymore with modern stab sets packaging their wires in princess carry foams)
wire balancing is keyboard bro science
and the first option i mentioned is also dead silent with zero extra touches
oh my bad i thought you were going to buy durocks LMAO
i misread my bad
I might go with wuque stupid. With the tpu layer do i need to lube or just leave it dry
naw don't worry
2us are flawless dry, 6.25/7u might need dielectric syringed
luckily i still a have some 205 from when I relubed my jades.
Whats the new meta switch? Haven't been in the game for months
205 can be fine too but they displace a bit fast
i have only ever used them on stupidly tight stab sets that are intolerant to overlubing such as staebies/txaps/knights
owlab ti
I think I have some automotive dielectric grease but its in a dirty container under my sink. I'll just order some more in a squeeze bottle.
adequate factory lube and they are on the deeper end of HE switch sounds
and they have good wobble
wondering how so?
for me they on par
my set had unknown 7u rattle
not my keycap either since i have straightened it out long ago
ah i see
Does benom's software really not have a select all for actuation point configuration?
could someone help with an issue im having with my keyboard
I put together this board last year and I accidentally pulled the esc switch out and the gummy o ring is not letting me rest the switch back into place
You have to rebuild keyboard
yeah what board is this ?
60 He module
ur not supposed to oring a tray keyboard
when i built it everyone said it was fine
if it fits its fine ig
so what should i do to get the switch back in
im not doing that
Then you cant put switch in
wait I think I found a solution
I might be able to push the oring under the plate and press the plate down to secure it back
nope, only multiple select
and then put the switch in
I did that and the switch is back in working
i only temporarily pressed the plate down to make room for the switch
nah tbh i think im fine the responsiveness is just the same and it feels fine
Absolutely brutal. TY for the reponse tho.
cant u set it by global
yes u can
yeah apparently i accidentally clicked a key and it didnt show global
still cant drag select tho which is kinda tuff i think
I see, I didn't understand how to configure the global, and that the global was also per-profie.
Each shipment contains one pack of four 3mm tall custom made Clear Silicone Bumpons for your Wrist Rest in case you want to increase its height
;)
we actually made that... ;)
thanks! I wish more people knew haha
other than that i kinda dont like the rest of your products :(
lol
except thockring i guess
there ya go, something
The keebmats are great, what are you on about
i prefer tx mat
lol
i guess i would like the felt ones if i liked felt mats
i like the original better too
but the quality is a bit better than kin's
glad you like keebtape though
pls not ups or fedex
USPS đ đ«Ą
ups is poo poo
fedex is ight
dhl on top
DHL 6/5 stars
ah i nearly forgot but are you perhaps new to installing clip in stabs @rich phoenix
because you will be doing that for the ws stupids
this video can be helpful for knowing how to install the stoppers easily since they can be hard to intuit for beginners
https://youtu.be/OcK_8qf-UP8
Hello everyone, it's been a good while since my last video, as always, busy with life hence the lack of uploads.
I managed to use the TX stabilizers for the first time on one of my builds and I had a bit of difficulty installing the stab stoppers provided with the stabs which are the equivalent of toothpick mods for Cherry clip-ins.
I discover...
Jade Max V2
Those specs are just same as normal jade pro specs
I guess itâs jade pro but clear?
I feel gateron doesnât quite use the word new the same way as everyone else
oh iâve always just smashed them in with a flat bladed screw driver. This will help!
what the hell are those apple emojis my guy
also
why do they use 1.2mm pcb measurements
how is this relevant when everyone is on 1.6
gateron đđ
Ah okay so theyâve caught up with September 2024
Nice
Whats Da Context
is this related to people complaining about dual rails binding?
No itâs realizing you donât need to have a dual rail after jamming it into everything that moved
New for them is being 6 months behind
They say the jade air are dual rail in the comments
jade, jade pro, jade max, jade gaming, now the jade air
wtf does jade even mean at this point
is jade a real word
the only real jades are Kailh Box Jades
It's giving Jade's
Xray pad could never with their skates
You know that tortilla slap challenge
Should do that with keebmats
What switches?
Well simple fix, geon spacers
ÂŻ_(ă)_/ÂŻ
nope
use geon spacers to fix stab seesawing on higher travel switches
Lower travel*
đ đ đ
ah not luminary, we are saved then
Fingers crossed same thing but no lube đ
surlely
And blue
No, Iâm a luminary
You need to respect my vision of the gateron unlubed blue luminary switch
I hope they send a friends and family unit to some friends in Korea then I can steal it lol
do you know if they plan to release web software
No idea about that one
True I need me a friends and family something
Sup fam

lol
i got reminded that i wanted to buy a keebmat for my 80he but the felt ones are sold out in 80he size
they can be ok

ill just have to make them work
If I want to buy stabilizers for the wooting 80HE and I have owlab TIs, I need âlong poleâ ones, right?
Like these https://deltakeyco.com/products/tx-ap-long-pole-stabilizers-screw-in-rev-4?variant=47295710757205
TX AP Long Pole Stabilizers Screw-In Rev 4 Features: Designed by kin25 Screw-In Stabilizers Doubleshot Stem POM Outside TPU & POM Inside Stabilizer Stoppers, prevents wire drop-out Supports both 6.25U and 7U Available in: Type: Base, 2U Color: Black, White, Green-White, Pink Size: 1.6T (Normal PCB), 1.2T Revisions:
you don't necessarily need those
you can use 'geon stem spacers' on any other stab
that turns it into a 'long pole stab'
What is better? Price is not a concern
personally i prefer using stem spacers because it's flexible for future
and you can use any stab you want
for example if you want to try 4mm stabs later it's a bit scuffed on long pole stabs, but if you use stem spacers you just pull them off and you're good
long pole specific stabs been becoming less common too, so it's fairly limited options now that swagkey also stopped making them
I kind of see more switches like 3.x popping out, so they usually use that?
Or what are the recommended stabilizers you guys use?
Thanks for the answers! Iâm quite new to this
3.5 or so is quite common now, although the upcoming wooting switch is 4mm for example
what do i do if u bought new keycaps and one of them doesnt fit
usually recommendation is don't replace stabilizers unless you have a specific problem with your current stabilizers, but if you do want to pick some 3rd party stabilizer then there are some popular ones such as the swagkey knight and typeplus x yikb
I got the owlab ti 40g and I like them a lot so far, I just want to have a more consistent sound because the spacebar rattles a lot and every key that has a stabilizer sounds different. I was thinking on fixing the space bar but I might as well try to get a consistent sound.
So I wonder if itâs better to get stabilisers that match my switches or what is the best solution
no matter what you do the stab keys will sound a little different
there's no solution for that
Yeah but Iâm talking about each stab key sounding different compared to each other, not to non stab keys
you can stick foam into the stab keys such as space bar in particular
that's also totally normal
they're different lengths
and different spots in keyboard
OK so itâs better to keep stock, lube them and add the stem spacers?
generally yeah i'd just try to fix stock ones and only if for some reason you can't fix stock ones then you look at aftermarket stabs
btw got a couple dms from folks wanting to add their photos to the mod site - been a little busy so haven't added new sections to the live site yet, but there are some big things coming early next month-ish that folks will be pleasantly surprised by
Guys my wooting 60he+ dont fonction on my pc but on wootility its fonction, how my keyboard can fonction?
might want to open a help thread in #1019755933959733258
So I checked the stem spacers and tbh the difference is not much, I still need to pay 10+ euros on shipping (I live in a small european country) so buying something that is 5 euros or 17 euros I think I might prefer to get "the proper solution" rather than a "bandaid" like the stem spacer seems to be.
So if I lean more to getting stabilizers, which one are the best for 3.4mm switches? the TX AP come in long pole, the Typeplus X YIBK doesn't seem to be but they are cheaper.
Thanks again for the help and sorry for so many questions!
Do you have issues with stabilizers or why do you want to swap them
I wanted to relube them because my space bar rattles a lot, like if there was some small metallic piece moving around inside. So I was wondering if I should get new ones since my switches are 3.4mm and I read online that it's better to get "long pole" for those
sno said I could get the "Geon Stem Spacer" that are 4.5 eur but I still need to pay 10+ eur on shipping so I wonder if it's just better to go all the way and getting new stabilizers
Check Knight v3 stabilizers
Those are out of stock in deltakeyco which is the shop I know here đ€
typeplus?
those are the cheapest, but I don't see them in long pole version
oh theyre also out of stock
Those I can buy from China for way cheaper
like 20 eur with delivery and vat
But those aren't long pole, are they? or it doesn't matter?
Long pole version isnt really needed, I have never had an issue with regular stabilizers and 3.4mm switches
that's kind of what i've been telling you. Long pole heavily limits your option of stabilizer choices and isn't any better than just using stem spacers
literally none of the most recommended stabilizers that everyone will tell you to buy as 'best stabilizer' etc are available in long pole
it's much more convenient to just buy any stabilizer you want then throw on stem spacers
Ok, so what is the most recommended that is not long pole?
typeplus x yikb, swagkey knight, designer studio adaptive pcb stabs
those are the 3 most commonly recommended and popular ones
Ok, I guess I will get them from China and save some money, I see they also have the stem spacers there thanks!
the "60 set" for Typeplus X YIKB is enough, right?
yeah 60 set is just normal amount of stabs iirc
Awesome, thank you both for the help!
One last question sorry, to lube either of those, knights or typeplus. I see some people mentioning they use Krytox 205G0 for them, is it better than Molykote EM-50L? I have those 2 from Wooting
tl;dr is modern day stabs don't use more than just 205g0 due to tolerances and build
you no longer need to use thicker greases on many of these newer generation stabilizers
hrm these upcoming scraft caps are oem size without the top cap part https://www.s-craft.studio/shop/in-stock
that's actually tempting since it'll finally be the right height
I hope so Nintendo dosent know about it
They should since they are officially licensed
What is usually the durability of those artisan caps? Do they last long or they start to fade with some use?
Should be fine for a long time, might yellow over time though especially if left in sun
@gaunt plume huano omega switch https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=935323846659
gateron jade air https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=935038982143
is magnet same as jade pro
same magnet
So very tasty
Benom. Appreciably louder compared to my Wooting builds. There's some plate foam in there and I put some polyfil in the case. Used the FR4 plate and stabs included in the kit. Pretty fun overall.
Use everything from https://drop.com/buy/kbdfans-tiger-lite-gaming-80-mechanical-keyboard-kit-v2 aside from the film. Brought my own switches and caps.
mmm, sounds a lot clackier than mine. But I use everything from the kit including the film so it could be why
It is intensely clacky. My room is also pretty much all hard surfaces.
As someone who has no clue, what so bad about dual rail? Are other switches mono rail or no rail? @tawdry tree @glacial wind
Dual rails are and have been more of a marketing thing rather than an actual improvement. The wobble is the same and the dual rails cause more friction than regular single rails.
Itâs basically shit all around and gateron continues to add them to every switch they release for no fucking reason at all other than a marketing point.
basically does nothing but makes switches worse for no reason
all their claims of âless wobbleâ are completely untrue as well. KS-20Us have similar wobble to KS-20s while increasing friction..
dual rail luminaries đ
Im curious whats different about it lol
I see, thanks for explaining
because itâs taking quite a while, I think itâs safe to rule out a recolor (as they said as well but I didnât believe it yet).
something âbigâ surely
big improvements đ„°
and keychron's HE keeb only uses it
đ đ đ
yeah
I have no hope for their Q0 HE
KS-20U Jade Max, Jade Genty Silent, KS-37B, KS-37C and Jade Mini Es. đđ
i totally forgot about dual rails for the luminary switch
dual rail + blue, no lube, mx stem, jade pro 3.5mm for shafie
Tikkens before tikkensđč They are rats so surely they release 4mm travel closed bottom before wooting
if that happened, weâre all going to china
thatâd be funny ngl

Oh I forgot Tikkens are gonna be 4mm. I knew I was pumped for them but kinda forgot why đ
4mm and closed bottom!
I am so ready
I want something to knock out my KoMs but I just can't get away from them for my mains
I am curious to see how stable it is compared to kom
It's probably going to be less stable if I were to guess
It's very hard to beat the stability of box stems with a traditional stem design
The stability of the KOMs is what sold me onto them, and I am glad I chose them because they are super consistent no matter how you press them.
What's the difference of dustproof stem and box stem?
same same, though I should point out that âBox Stemâ is incorrect as was recently pointed out to me. Box originates from Box switches which have enclosed contacts (in a Box) to protect them from dust and liquids. Dust Proof or walled stems are different but they were still intended to protect against dust and liquids as well.
I think walled stems is better suited as the reason why theyâre popular in magnetic switches isnât because of their dust proofing but for their increased bottom out stability.
So, Box stems = wrong. Itâs Box Switches or Dust Proof/Walled Stems.
Id say dustproof for he switches is just another pointless marketing point
Its useful on scroll wheel encoders, especially for mice with holes, increasing their longevity
really, why?
Language is a flexible thing, skibidi đ
TIL though!
Box Switch vs Dust Proof/Walled Stems.
He switches dont rely on anything mechanical afaik, so they dont benefit from being dustproof
But i might be talking out of my ass here
For scroll encoders, im pretty sure no1 failure point is dust/dirt getting inside the encoder
That is true, but the correction came from Mr.MechanicalBionicle and Theremin. đ
dustproof can help with long term smoothness i can imagine
wait so is there any difference if the wall in the second type of stems is full or not?
Yeah, Dust Proof always was a moot point but for magnetic switches even more so. The only way the switch fails is if thereâs so much dust/debris in the housing that you canât press the stem down anymore.. đ
Like this you mean?
Or full like KoM POMs for example
No difference in naming, you could call one half-walled and the other full-walled but both are considered dust proof.
as the keycap stem blocks the holes:
but like, how much difference in stability?
This reminded me of the kid that posted those pics with the insane amount of cheeto crumbs and hair in his board a couple of months back đ đ đ
I dont like polyfill as much in benom, it makes it sound weirder imo
Yeah this whole dust proof / box stem thing is just people worrying about being overly technical
Like Turing pointed out language is flexible and changes to include things over time
the general public talks about those types of switches as box stems so at this point itâs just all box stems even if in the past it wasnât
If anything I do think this could stand a little foam if just to knock down the clack/overall volume, but the only thing I could make to fit it is butyl which I'm not sure I wanna go for.
itâs similar to the term magic arm or friction arms in cinema actually supposed to be specific to one particular type of arm but it eventually just became a general term for any of those sorts of adjustable arms
did you get da gummy oring option
i was struggling to get used to the bounce
He has Biger lite benom
Time to do your discord quest and claim your benom avatar decoration @cyan lark
I'm all set thanks đ
I'm still waiting for y'all to join me
What switch should I get for a really thocky clean sound?
There is no "THOCKY" HE switch, but you might like UR Ice Ultra
Its a bit deeper than other options
Ok thank u
get the pink ice ultra if u can
the sound is a bit more clean
Ty shafie
depends, walled stems kinda cheat their way into high stability as itâs not relying solely on the tightness between the stem and rails. Duhuks for example are really stable already despite not having a walled stem. In general though, all extremely stable switches have walled stems.
When accuracy is easy I donât mind changing how I refer to something like that, especially when itâs MB and the goat pointing it out.
Sorry overwatch is a myth đ„
I get a really weird pop sound when i pull my finger up from the key quickly is there any way to fix it
which key?
All
then maybe your current switches arenât for you?
or did you change something about the build and then it happened?
I use sticky rice v2s and the only mods i have are tape and foam mod
if you always heard this sound, itâs the switches
and you could try different ones
good luck getting sticky rices out though.. đŹ
I think itâs not so much us that would have to change but the general public
How we refer to it barely matters if everyone else is just saying box stems for all of it
duhuks have a dampened top out but their bottom out is a lot louder and sharper
Which ones
you could use duhukâs stem in the lekker V2 bottom housing, if you care to spend the time đ
maybe, not sure how common either is but I know âwalledâ is quite uncommon
dp is just shit tho
Yeah no one says dust proof except some manus
Could i put some padding on them i dont really want to change switches
itâs kailhâs fault people even starter calling it box stems
itâs similar to the whole socd snap tap thing
you canât really silence the top out
đŠ
unless you get other switches*
What makes the top out sound
I see MBâs and Goatâs point though, itâs incorrect to call them that
if accuracy is the goal which obviously for most people isnât the case
but I care ;)
the stem returning and hitting the top housing
Oh they are 100% correct in technical terms, just that public wonât care and box stem will continue to be used until it becomes actually accurate just due to widespread usage changing the term
but thereâs too little room to stuff any padding in between there without causing some major inconsistencies.
So i could Frankenstein my key switches and change out the top housing
maybe, maybe not. if manuâs refer to them as box stems, box stems will be the norm.
gateron calls them walled iirc
gateron says dust proof
and kailh, ttc and some others dp
then both
dust proof just never caught on much because itâs a weird awkward name
actually, would you like an all around quiet switch?
No not really
you like the bottom out of the sticky rices?
Yeah
alright, then no need to franken anything. just get duhuks and see if you like em
their bottom out will be a bit louder and sharper than that of the sticky rices
but their top out is dampened
I listen to some sound tests thx
Duhuk Core HE or Duhuk Point HE is the name of them
Tysm
Hey does the wooting module come with foam or does the tofu redux 60% case come with foam?
Both đ
Ok good
Keyboards are fun
i can link some
#1342211699234832485 message and a few messages after without tape as well
the real question is where is 10u 60he
not the worst thing ive ever seen
10 u >>>>>> having 4-5 side buttons on each side
I wanna try this
it looks nice.
after they make 10u 60he then can make the HandHE
Anyone know where I could get a wrist rest thatâs grey for the 60% tofu redux?
is the black wrist rest from wooting close enough
It is but just checking my options
This is so awful đ
what the
windows key my favorite key
I don't remember using that key for a while
I use it maybe... once every day or two to launch something that isn't pinned to my taskbar
Just installed the WS stupids. Feel good. No ping. I did add a bit of grease on each pivot point though.
dont give that guy that wants wooting glove80 anymore ideas
lol
"wooting should stop making standard layouts and make ones only programmers care abt"
Where do I sign up
Blove80
Wooting120HE
Blow80
hopefully nowhere
the only ppl that prefer those ergo kbs over standard ones are programmers that have to use their kb like 8hrs/day
But we build stuff for you
standard MX is fine for that~ Not like regular programmer need SOCD and RT
đ
But... we like gaming too
No u đ
You get a leverless or something?
no, I got this
HA! That takes me back. My friend in college had a very similar pad
I can't remember which game he played but it looked very similar to the one you play
beatmania iidx
Yeah probably was beatmania. Whichever version was out in uh... '04
old, I'm not even in a womb that time
I guess it was probably just beatmania for the PS2
Ah was released in '06, still lines up
switching programs, getting out of a fullscreen one, searching stuff, turning off pc and so on...
alt tab, I don't use full screen/alt tab, cursor to the bottom right, my pc don't sleep
yeah, windowed at like 900p or 720p while playing game mostly to make my 32 inch behave like 24 inch and lower. The only time I use full screen is playing rhythm game but I barely alt tab during session.
Kinda makes me intrigue on dual mode monitor, 240hz 4k to 480hz 1080p with a reduced area on a 32inch screen sounds perfect to me.
gotta put a 32 one very far away
when we seeing 1440p 480 and whatever the 4x of that is at lower hz
ah its 5k
would be perfect
man my PC would be completely unusable without super and/or alt
winkeyless designs are fucking mad and 10u spacebar even more so
like yeah let's make the keyboard worthless
Right side, assuming I only type, I only need FN and CTRL key.
What part of the ttc kom switch should i apply lube to?
on the right I really only need altgr, ctrl I don't think I ever use on the right side and FN layer I also hardly use
I just lubed the walls of the stem
They will sound plasticky no matter what
where do i get clean keycaps? like this kinda for 80he, is there any brand who do it?
stock ti he do sound plasticky but these still manage to sound plasticky even after lubing
lubed raw he's sound fantastic
Ig you can find some clones on ali, but I donât recommend them
@thorn zealot ronin was handed to ups
Gg itâs wraps
Mmhmm
Keycaps and new mouse starting next week W
If youâre a keyboard nerd
But not for gaming nerds
Need a home for your old mouse?
What mouse are you hoping to get
He has 20 old mice
Being used might I say
Will not tolerate slander đ„
Depending on how I like my Ulx, Iâll think about it @cyan lark
What's the new hotness that's arriving? Ulx... you finalmemeing?
Wanted to try something different
Ain't nothing wrong with that
Beastx pro is killing my pinky
Just how your hand sits on it?
I canât get it to not rest there and it felt like I had hand strain last night đ
cursed
Ulx Classic is same shape as DAV3 but lighter so Iâm hoping the opticals feel as good as Beastx if so, Iâm going to have to stick to that shape forever
Yez yez back in home country we grow our hands to 20x10mm+
need my crazylight right now
Iz how you escape balkans
real superlight is on the way
