Not sure what stabs are stock in the 60he, but I should have no issue keeping them and swapping the lekkers out with geon raw HE, no? Been told conflicting things, that they can cause issues with the Raw HEs n need to replace stabs etc etc.

The throw on raws is shorter, so you may wind up with some see-sawing on stabilized keys. If you do, geon stem spacers can help and are cheap.

You can get the Phylina lightnings which are ur ice ultra with a boxstem, supposedly rivals the current boxstem meta but I haven’t seen anyone with them in the wild yet

How to muffle the noise of the space bar?

I have already posted in the general discussion, but I was advised to ask here. I apologize for the double post with the same topic.

The space bar of the Wooting 80 HE has a sharp clack, loud, "different" noise, which clashes with the pleasant and silent "chock" of all the other keys: it annoys me like a sauce stain on a new shirt!

I've read many: additional lubrication of the switches, filling the space bar with sound-absorbing material, replacing the o-rings with softer silicone ones, or adding some, which makes no sense because I don't see any o-rings between the bar and the switch.

in the meantime I found a partial solution:
I filled the inside of the space bar with several strips of self-adhesive felt glued one on top of the other, shaped for the width, length and depth of the bar.
Furthermore, on the two internal sides of the short sides of the space bar I adhered two strips of the same felt of a length adequate to make the strip protrude by about 5 mm from the profile of the bar, downwards.

Nothing can be seen from above with the bar mounted.

The result is that the space bar does not hit the frame because the two strips of felt arrive in contact before the bar.
The result is good, but it is unlikely to become excellent because now the loudest noise is produced by the return of the space bar.

Another way is to glue 4 5 mm silicone buffer half-bubbles on the plate in correspondence with the corners of the space bar. But maybe you can see them from above ...

my question still stands: is there a more technical, functional and functional way to silence the space bar more?

the answer is not really, space bars will always sound a bit different to the rest of your keys. Some people do various foam mods or install spacebar foam, some use a slightly different switch just for spacebar - it just depends and there's no perfect solution to making it sound the same as your 1u keys

this is just the best ergo-ortho whatever kb on the market, you should just try it once in your life, it's just a much nicer and much more painless experience than using the standard layout. not for competitive gaming though (and overall).

I just feel like people focus too much on the standard layout, and not trying to improve even that almost at all, and just pretend it's some kind of amazing thing - those just haven't tried ergo-ortho-concave kbs. it's also just fun experience learning something new like this.

Yo has anyone else had issues with the wooting 60 plate not fitting over stabs? Ive tried durocks and owlab stabs and both are like slightly too large to fit through the plate (both the stock plate and an aftermarket one).

Yes I am putting them in the correct way. I can get a picture in a bit but I have built a few other customs (not wooting) and never had an issue. The stab housing is just like unable to fit through the plate for some reason

First is a owlab stab housing, second is a durrock v2 housing (sorta did a bad job lining this up)

I tried on both plates having the stabs actually mounted to the pcb (correctly) to no avail

Video isn't playing on PC or Mobile for me but from what I can tell is you're using plates with cutouts for plate mounted stabs which have smaller cutouts than PCB mount cutout plates and the stabilizers you're using are likely too thick for those plates.
