like this. where the right side is what is pointing to you (the bottom edge fo the board)
simple reason cause the top edge has the RGB LED window which doesnt help pulling out a switch much
nice pic
cant do a vid cause my puller is back in a moving box with all my first half of wooting stuff
this as a brief demo is pretty good already imo
yes i got the idea tbh schematic probably helps me more than actual vid :D ty
THISSSSSSSSSSS
Gateronâs puller used in that vid is only good for switches that are secured solely by the âlatchesâ (meaning when the latches get pushed in, the switch is completely free to be pulled out). Most magnetic switches out currently arenât like that though.
that is kinda i was guessing too, i have heard bad things about that kind of puller
The puller would be good if switches were designed properly. Which they arenât so it isnât.
đ„Ž
maybe was meant to help secure the switches better, since he switches unlike mx doesnt have pins to actually secure the switch to the pcb.
Guys is there a solution to this the switch wobbles so much
i dont think it got all the way in there
I heard a click tho
Hmm i will try to push harder then
you can check from the side
to see if the switch is raised compare to every other ones
Just tried to push harder
do you have a second switch you can try
This is already my second one
remove the switch and take a pic, maybe the pad is blocking somehow
i think something maybe blocking it
"remove the switch and take a pic, maybe the pad is blocking somehow"
maybe the plate is fucked somehow
I removed the friction pad
actually yea takin is right, you cant pull it just by using your finger there in the video
Yeah few screw aee out now
cut a small piece of tape and tape it on the edge
the switch shouldn't wiggle up and down on the plate with or without the pcb
"cut a small piece of tape and tape it on the edge"
people do that for plate mount stab to increase the tightness, i think the same idea may work with that as well
but instead of doing that to the stab position, do that to the switch position
see if that helps
Can i try a lekker switch ?
wtf
most likely lekker would be more loose
its only that or others wobble too?
"This is already my second one"
If i put the switch sideways it works and is tight
he can without the pcb lol
i guess instead of side way you try opposite side
but that is strange af, if it is tight sideways it should be tight when you install it normally
This also wobbles
Itâs because of idiotic switch design
If it canât move up and down when itâs in just the plate without PCB, the plate might be bent downwards in that corner.
oh yeah, nvm this ^
nah sliding is fine because once the pcb is on there it cant move
just mainly the up and down thing is fcked
sliding left and right is fine, up and down isnât.
ye
I donât get why the 6.25U plate has holes for split backspace though. I thought 6.25U didnât have the option for split backspace?
If it does, you can try that.
With tape
A bit better, put it on the PCB and see how it is.
or put another tape piece on the other side, thatâs fine as well.
not on the same side tho.
unlucky plate
What if this is a sign
A sign from the cf plate gods
A punishment of sorts for not picking the superior plate
there is no should. Only when and where
The when is always and the where is everywhere
Amen
stupid plate design as well. the 6.25U PCB does not support split backspace. not sure what they were thinking when designing this.
blood is weakness leaving the body
@high sphinx I donât think youâd have to send it back. Theyâll probably just send you a new one.
improved quality of life. mental clarity. overall increase in happiness
You and untill then i can ise the tape technique but i wont use it forever since in my opnion if u order solething it should be good but i already sent a mail to them
personally experienced reduced mental clarity due to clack
that is your mind being cleansed of confusion
The clack leads to flow state
unlucky my dude, i agree with aligner, especially you got the vids to prove it
snoop dogg?
higher
Iâd get something soft
yeah
yeah for gaming stiff can be nice
I donât mind personally
how can i grease my stabilizers without having the lube from the store? can i get something from a hardware store? i kinda cleaned a bunch of it off when i changed my keycaps and its a bit rattly now
more like a sign from geon god for wasting venom's potential on wooting's copium pad
@glacial wind im trying out cf plate on HE now been couple days - so far enjoying it
Dielectric grease
i dont wanna wait the 2 weeks until it arrives when i order it :C
not dense plate gang
full of foam
open bottom switch
aka bigsy
đ
I have cf but not for frog, so havent tried it xd
real

Itâs my favourite plate personally for he, just cause I like stiff lol
i tried with salvation and tray mount, i think on salvation it is not bad, but on tofu redux it was thud plus plus
I might order cf from hyperboring for my venom frog since loobed is not delivering on lx60s
thud ultra gaming performance pro special edition
You can clearly see the sign
Nice hope you enjoy 1ms decrease
I guess i will get a new one
bro its the tsangan layout
â€ïž
no one cares for 8khz
wait which switch you on?
i dont think i have heard a alu plate tofu redux yet
can i get a sound test :3
You think i have to send this one back ?
No. Delta is nice.
hopefully not, the shipping cost is gonna be retarded đŠ
I do hope itâs just your plate rather than it being a shit designed plate.
Yes they are indeed i got it to this now
With kots of tape
nice
nothing tape cant fix
Thatâs fine for the time being.
Is there anyone else here with a 6.25U venom?
Yeah indeed but i still want a replacement tbh cause i payed money for it
Yeah, youâll get one dw.
I have no words for this plate design tbh
Is it from Geon?
think so
it fucking is
the mark on the top right shows it is the same one from geon site i think
lol
Installed with friction fit bit is there an easy way to pull it out i have pulled it out a few times but i really struggled
take out the 2 switches in the middle and use a switch puller to grip on to it
or honestly 2 switches anyway, so you can grip on to it easily
I hioe i wont break it cause a few tiles i was thinking ow shit while pulling it haha
I normally screw the plate screws off and try to get the plate out first
its alu bb
And the rest is easy
if you can break it so easily you strong af
oh yea since you put a screw in you need to undo the screw first
Thatâs a fine plate that supports both 6.25 and 7U. Canât say the same for whatever Venomâs is.
Not not that the those who connect the pcb with the plate those
i downloaded their file too, one without the parts for tofu's mount
i can get a new pp from somewhere else later on
It gave my board a soul after switching from PC plate
It became life
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807342468818.html
19 dolla alu plate + 5 dolla shipping
if you feel like trying it at some point i would love to hear your opinion comparing cf with alu
CAM has it
He tried it already
Told him abt it then he bought right away I was like damn-
Sure
yea i know mr cam has everything
just curious what you would think
i have both right now and after a few days of swapping between the two i am leaning toward alu
He doesnât have your heart. That must be given willingly.
Youâre leaning alu over what, cf?
yee
nah he has my heart too, man has gud taste
i think mr. cam's go to is also alu
@tawdry tree actually what about you sir, what is your favorite plate
just curious :3
PC but need to try PP or POM soon
soft I like
đđ
i assume you have tried the stiffer ones ? :3
FR4, Steel, Alu
i wanna try PP or POM too honestly
fr4 is kinda weak compare to alu but it is nice. steel is sadness. pc has muted top out i think, curious what pp or pom would be like
and brass
brass would be interesting because it is heavier and stiffer than alu, and according to keybored's vid it is more deeper sounding than alu
Iâd assume PP and POM wonât be much different from PC
wonder what that is like
I tried brass a couple times but I donât have a brass plate currently
whats your thought on it
im going to build my first custom keyboard and im thinking about getting the 60HE module with tofu60 redux and l45 v2s any suggestions?
thats also true
Ok thanks
Eh, it was a clacky build. I didnât notice a big different in bottom out compared to the alu board next to it but the builds were completely different of course.
oh you meant the alu board is completely different from the brass build?
yeah
i got lost for a sec no big difference but completely different
oh lmao
how about top out :3
that is interesting because keybored mentioned in his video explaining plates that he always thought brass was more clacky than alu but the math and test showed differently. (what i was trying to say is, i think this shows that maybe the difference between alu and brass are not so significant.)
maybe when it is put on the board it is similar effect? the added weight and added stiffness kinda cancel out maybe compare to alu
Curious how this cf plate will feel in the 80he
If I use the jade pros will I still get 0.1 mm actuation?
yes
very similar to alu just slightly lower pitch. switches were different as well but their top out should sound the same.
definitely wouldnât say clackier.
I wanna try copper as well
i have mx switch on my salvation right now and raw on my tofu 2.0, swapping from mx to he makes me realize how smooth he is
feels so nice
until you bottom out and hear the magnet high pitch sound

This is for now the build untill i get my gmk keycaps and can swap to qwerty
And this is sound
nice you like it?
Whatvis ur personal opninion on the sojnd if i may ask ?
i dont like tray mount, alu maybe a bit too loud on that. but the stabilizers are good, switches are good.
just subjectively
Ir is fruction fit i only screwed one screw in to ground the pcb
to me it is still on the stiffer end, but yea everything sound clean
Well the friction pad is really tight is this case loke i said before bjt it is friction fit đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
what switches are these?
tight is good
raws
you on 80he's pc plate?
spacebar needs some dampening tho
Yeah but i am now thinking why did i buy friction fit if i could use tray and get same result ?
yes
preference
Well i got gmk keycaps comming
Might give a difference
and my preference is a spacebar that doesnt sound like i am getting shot
he on alu so yea it would be louder, plus he on tofu which means much more stiff than 80he as well
yeahhh
i do want to see how my sound will end up with the gt-80
since i'm on pcr case rn
was it a pre order?
yee, i haven't heard a test with gt80 yet
i think the mounting is slightly different from 80he right?
i saw badseed did a video on it but i wasnt convinced he did everything he could to make it sound amazing
Is there atleast a bit of a difference between my friction fit and the tray mount ?
i'll probably tapemod and get some filler material
i am not really sure since you did put a screw there.
#1308938534224138270 message this was my build with tofu redux
the plate is fr4 so it is slightly more quite compare to yours
i really like that build even though i took it apart
Yeah cause i wanted to ground my pcb so i jad to put in one screw
I would love to hear soleone with same build as me but tray mount
tbf you can probably just do the same thing wooting did with the optimum case and ground using the usb port
understandable yeee. i am just wild hehe
yea i think a while back when the optimum case just came out. tony sent a pic of what the conductive foam looks like
think you can buy from amazon
But do you by any chance know someone who had my build but with tray instead ?
i think there is plenty of people out there with a tray mounted tofu build
pretty sure there is someone who did tofu redux with tray mount
Yeah but this was easy solution, but if you know where i can buy it let me know
If u want i can put the screw out and give u another sound test
nah i am good, it is just about what you enjoy my dude
btw you dont need to screw it in really hard
all you need is that the screw touches the pcb so it makes contact with the metal traces around the screw hole
This whitout screw
a high pitched sound when bottoming out?! I have no clue what youâre talking about! đ
that sounds really good
what do you think about mr. gpster's build, tofu redux + friction pad + alu plate + raw

kinda similar to what you have
kinda
Damn wish I could listen to it rn but I'm in class
kids nowadays dont put on their hoodies to hide their earbuds
much better than my generation then
Let it rip in class watch the teacher look for the sound for 20m
not a huge fan of alu plate tbh
LMAO
@kind helm i also have sole silicone covers comming in to put over the standard standoffs of the case that will probably also make it sound a little bit quiter
i think it would help
Now only my gmk keycaps and than u can see my final build loke i promised
Not quieter but less ping or metallic sound from the direct pcb to metal case contact
Gmk đ„
Yeah probably
Yeah indeed it will be better i think
I will post other sound video when build has the gmk keycaps and silicone standoffs
man after trying gmk on my mx build i want more quality abs cap now
Which caps did you get again?
Same brah
think i got baited
Gmk evil dolch
Mine shining like my forehead
Oh yeah, thatâll be perfect.
i got enough gmk caps that i can build 2 more keyboards and equip em with some gmks
Yeah i am really hyped and also for the silicone standoffs to make it sound better but i could not wait on those two componenst i really wanted to build my board and change it when i get my last two parts
yea doesn't take too much time to change
Relatable.
Indeed
Most sets I like are a pain and a half to get
Haha yeah i tild myself to wait but i could not and i also have other good news
I got slasher coming later this month though, hopefully
đ
I can keep this plate đ„ł
yep, even more so if you want international/norde kit
absolute nightmare
i find set i really like, look inside, no kit for me
Yeah, I like Delta!
They are goated
i really like the look of british racing green for example but i'm never getting it now
backgroun noise
at least i dont need to worry about legends with gmk dots
this
man british racing green looks so damn good but it doesnt have what i need đ
after slasher, Iâll need to get boneyard from somewhere and then Iâm done (wonât be done ever).
Yeah sry about that đ
that was pretty recent right?

ahh
My wooting now i gonna put it back to stock but not today haha
i would buy it and a green gt-80 tbh
idk how people cope with gb honestly
but i want to save some money for a gpu these next 2 months
i hate waiting is all. espeically with group buy to me it is almost like a kickstarter thing
i did pre order only once, for venom pcb
it is a kickstarter pretty much
oh gmk moomin is still available with norde kit
less risk with a gb than kickstarter tho
if only i had some kind of attachment to that series, never watched it as a kid
probably depends on the company
gmk probably is like one of the good ones since they have been doing it for a long time
for cases and stuff i often hear drama happening. i just cant deal with the stress

haha yeah
i thought about getting the mntu blanks but i guess those are all sold out now
i mean i waited idk how many months for my 80he
i kinda have the mindset of just forgetting about the thing i preordered until it arrives
i know one gentleman from this server who get his like toward the end of last year
because of the case issue

kinda like investing money
yup
investing is gambling, and mama taught me gambling no good
i love gambling
but yeah i dont have much of a problem investing in something as long as i know the company will deliver in the end and i'm confident itll end up at least decent
and when it shows up at home i have a nice surprise
also it is kinda like a unhealthy circle to me. you buy something, you maybe prepare like a set of switches and case for it. but then other stuff got here so much sooner, so you try them out and use them.
now when the keycaps come in, you wanna get a new board to go alone withit
man when i buy something its cause i really want it, and i want it the moment i order it :D i can never preorder.. when i was looking for keycaps and i saw these dates on when theyre available i just got turned off and opted for something thats available
like i want the v2 switches right now and im staring with dread at expected delivery date late jan to 1st of february
when i brought my second venom, my 3 braincell saw tofu 2.0's compatible plate on sell and immediately got it to pair with the venom
maybe i'll get a venom
but not sure
i need a board to be the home for my beautiful gmk mictlan
the lay out, the centered usb c port
after i swap my 80he off of those to gmk cosmos
just beautiful
i kinda wanted to get the yakult keycaps
with f row it do be kinda hot
yeah
reminds me of childhood
do you have a full closet of keycaps, mats, and switches, and case yet
god no
but like, my desire to have cool keycaps is going to translate into owning a bunch of keyboards i dont need
yk
I have a single drawer so far
that is what i was saying

tbf part of my closet is already dedicated to keycaps and keyboard
with my keycap sets, old keyboard, boxes and shit
Most of my closet is filled with PC parts lmao.
i do also have all my pc part boxes in the closet too
these yakult keycaps arent even THAT expensive
really making me want to do it
lol
its like 85 euro for base and novelties (pre shipping)
much better than what i spent on my gmk sets
Well GMK is GMK. It will be expensive.
fair
Wait since when is venom rapid trigger 0 04 ?
Yes cause i wanted to change led indicator from caos lock why ?
Oh ok still hella cool btw do you know how to change frol pfofile woth keybinds ?
Oh ok
stable version the minimal is 0.1 for all 3 of those options in the screenshot
wow
Yeah i am on beta
Yeah i gonna try in overwatch
why
Yeah i am now trying my venom in overwatch and damn this feels good
the second one would not work because it is not the correct layout and is also not compatible with the mounting method of 80he
always ask urself why
80he already has something like that foam but made of silicone that acts as dampener and lets it be mounted in the way it is
Okayy
you can try doing a tape mod and adding some poly fill into the bottom of the case
just make sure you dont put in too much
you need to give the board some air to breathe
So I can't put anything on the PCB, like the pictures
Yes
doesn't 80he already has a tape on the bottom, and doesn't that add to the sound instead of lowering it?
the premade "tapemod" doesnt sound the same as a real tapemod
theres some differences due to manufacturing etc
as for the sound idk
just try shit out until you like it
or dont
i'll probably do some stuff when my gt-80 arrives cause thats right when i'm between semesters and have nothing better to do than to tinker on my keyboard and pc
A full 3 layer tape mod mutes it a bit, ended up removing mine after I did it
i'll probably try without and then each layer
since it's not that difficult to change it real quick on the gt-80
i dont think i would do that with stock case haha
10
i think i'm doing 50 layers
as many layers as possible until it doesnt fit into my case anymore
Honestly duct tape mod is the real chadly mod
please dont anyone actually do that
flex tape mod
use flex seal on the bottom of your case
Nah, flex tape
after seeing mr. thackson's pcb, i understand some people would actually do shit like that
No actually, 3M VHB tape
Plastic bag mod
when are we getting cardboard plate
We don't talk abt it
Some scars aren't worth revealing
sry sir
it is just a bit scary to think about
mf be joking and some dude sees one message and try stupid things and ruin their board
lol, like what?
Some scars aren't worth revealing
Some scars are worth revealing, now I'm curious.
you can look for it yourself
discover the deep dark secret of mr. thackson
I noticed it with 3 and it was pretty dog ish, might not even keep the default if it stops sticking
Nah 1 layer for me made a drastic difference
And I don't like it
I had a sound test comparison with 1 layer and without
Ive done multiple, like a LOT of sound test comparisons with tape mod
And 5 really isn't needed
By the time you hit 3 layers, there really isn't a difference after that
4 layers maybe but 5 def not
something like this?
Yes this and in my phone
LOLOL
Video recordings and mic recordings
Now show us your other videos folder
i will be banned
sanest keyboard elitist

i am not even close to that level yet
emm... hopefully...

some of the audio i sent to my second acc on dc that i dont use anymore. there are definitely way more audio...
the video thing i just setup recently for a demo thing and it works nicely with keyboards too
video from phone + audio from mic
Itd be great if I could use my phone video and my mic recording at the same time
But I feel like my phone capturing everything sounds more realistic than my mic cus of the pre amps and what not
i fount this droid cam thing to stream camera to obs
and obs i just setup to turn of the audio source from camera and use the mic only
though my mic is shit + far away(which i recently found is the reason why mr. cam and arc's sound tests are so different from mine)
your mic better be at least 4 times better than mine cause if i remember correct yours cost 4 times more
Podmic is a pretty flat sounding mic which is fine or great when recording sound test but I notice it captures more sound from the case than my phone camera
Podmic is also more easier to eq since its a flat sounding mic
It issss
Im loving it so far
But living in a living room is not helping me
Damn how much is yours?
i gave up on that after watching one video online showing how different keyboard can sound with simpliy changing the smallest thing(distance, angle, and number of pads and stuff)
(à„ËÌŁÌŁÌŁïžżËÌŁÌŁÌŁÂ à„)
mics are worthless
i just use it to compare with what i have, but i stopped comparing it with other people's sound test. like i knew its different but I didnt think the difference would be so drastic
Mreow
Real
mr. mj spitting truth like always
50 dolla only
Mines $100
with arm and pop filter
O
ah i thought you spent 200+ on it
I bought the og one
If it isn't a Neumann you're not really trying
ahh ic
me just wanted something that is okay. been using it for many years
still a nice piece for the whole setup
But in the end I spent 200 for boom arm, mic, and pop filter
at that point i think the whole room needs to be setup a certain way to fully capture whatever madness you are trying to hear

Oh I'm being fully unserious
yea tis nice
mine is black and a bit dusty at this point, i only clean the floor weekly
200 dollars is child's play
I've seen mics that cost a lot more.
Hey man I'm just a child
I can't afford a sm7b/db or a mv7+
200 suddenly is really reasonable
Audio interface: 120
Mic: 100
Boom arm: 75
XLR cable: 10
IEMS: 54
everything is relative
It truly is
$359
Still cost less than a sm7b đ
sm7b is boring. RE-20 is the champ
i just follow this guy for iem https://crinacle.com/rankings/iems/
I have the TruthearxCrinacle Zero Reds
Yea I'm good on the Shure sm7b
Tbh if I had the money I still wouldn't even buy it personally
honestly think it is comparable to my samsung galaxy pro 2
Yeah I donât really want to go XLR for mic tho
Then I need an interface or preamp or whatever
Yeah interface, mixer, or a dac
I am tempted to get a new dac and amp for headphones tho
dac for mic is a thing?
Yeah really?
Oh am I trippin
i have heard that you dont really need a dac for headphone nowadays
I might've gotten it wrong hollup
Digital to analog
i have a cheap dac just because motherboard can't handle the static caused by 6950xt
It's a good mic, but I think it more won the popularity contest. RE-20 can be picked up for a bit less often times and I think it sounds markedly better.
wired iem is so overrated imo, i barely sit down to just enjoy music.
whenever i am actually enjoying music i am holding a glass of whiskey + coke leaning against the window watching the city view
Elegant
lmao cheap af, cheap whiskey, cheap mix drink
AirPods Pro my beloved
but nice little buzz to lay back for the night
HD600 + whisky is my combo for a very pleasant evening
Look at nature out the window, not a city building in sight.
also beautiful
I have an ifi zen v2 and 560s rn
Butbut, why not have 10kV right next to your ears?
Kind of want Schitt Modius and Schitt Jotunheim
Or Midgard
Also kind of mildly entertaining the 490 pro headphones
fat boi headphone enjoyers
Electrostatics are a different beast, they sound so clean!
my weak neck hurts from those, iem betta
Should be getting swagkeys stabs and my aluminum plate today
Oh nice. Thatâs whatâs up
Yeah seems nice
Midgard is new and interesting but jotun seems more capable
I did move from the jotun dac to a modius on my real dedicated listening setup
Very slight improvement
But I think if you're gonna get one thing and be happy with it, jotun w/ the dac is very solid
Balanced is nice if you get crosstalk, but that's all it's gonna improve
But it's one of those things where it doesn't hurt at all to have it
Bifrost is the big mamma jamma right? Bit too wild for me đ
lol itâs same footprint as Modius I believe
But more expensive
Big mamma jamma $$
@polar girder may i ask how would you compare PP with PC plate? I am thinking of trying either PP or POM

PC sucks
PP goated
I havenât tried POM
and PC doesnât actually suck. I just donât like it and am often extreme lol
does it have a louder top out sound?
my understanding right now is that PC has a muted top out compare to PP
I didnât really AB test them
I had PC friction mounted in tofu and PP in frog
PP just feels softer sound and feel to me tho
Without being as flimsy
ahh yea that the mount difference is night and day
Or maybe that was just a thickness issue
Yeah lol
I just never really loved my PC plate
Preferred it to steel in sound but otherwise nah
steel at bottom of the list for me 1000%
gud insight, thank you sir
i know i can probably watch some vid on it but it is nice to see more people's experience
Iâm going to hopefully get this Geon order in tonight then try Raw on PP and Nylon and Alu in a couple weeks
the soft ones are the ones i am curious about hehe
Yeah Iâm curious POM but will probably go either PP or Nylon
alu is much more fun but relatively much louder compare to pc or fr4
not to a unacceptable level though for me. but i think for you maybe different since you prefer something more quiet
if you stick with alu it would be pretty funny
Iâm at a point where I really want the cleanest
definitely fun to type on, alu. especially with nice mount like frog mini
i would think
Iâm over soft and loud and thck and clack and shit
HE too mid
Just need the best
some day you get bored then you would just change
wooting + frog mini is already goated af
but why not try venom, then the circle continues
Well Iâm about to buy venom

Lolz
And hopefully only buy one plate

Although need a tray mount Wooting plate to sell full Wooting
Might buy stupid fish at some point idk
Needs soft plate and friction fit pad
Ez
after trying alu, i feel like soft plastic plate + frog would be already pretty quiet
like relatively
Right
And I have kilmat on the case bottom
Itâs solid
I think itâll be clean
to a point right now i feel like foam really just modify the sound rather than dampen it that much
I like the modius as well
no foam is the way
i think if you use the softer tadpole, the board would also be a bit more quiet
i tried 50g and 70g bowl on my tofu and i found 50g(the softer one) is a bit more quiet
Are you actually running 0 foam?
I haven't tried absolute 0 yet in any of my builds, maybe I should to see what it's like.
Iâve tried zero foam in the tofu and it wasnât it for me
But I have kilmat in the frog and a plastic plate so I might try no plate foam
You have or want?
I have the Magnius and Modius
Oh nice. What headphones
Iems

hehe, i bought custom straps off aliexpress. 5 bucks for a piece of nylon band but lets hope at least the print quality is good
tmrw my case arrives and when the switches are here i will have literally changed every piece but the pcb
and the foam ig
and the plate
kinda considering on the plate, i like deep sound but i dont want to compromise the quality of the board
What case
Friction fit pad and black PC plate?
Not certain if friction fit pad works with alumaze tho
It does
Nice
whats friction fit pad
Gotta either put in a screw or scratch off a little paint if you wanna ground it though.
(I scratched off paint)
Alternative to tray mount style for tray mount cases
does it fall out when i put it bottom up
No
You have to really try to get it out w/ a spudger or something, no way it will come out by accident.
interesting
its called friction mount
It pretty drastically changes the sound, though, so be aware of that before you dive in if you're thinking about it.
Their question was valid
if it fell out then that thing becomes a stack mount or smth đ
failed friction mount gg
I wish it worked with stock plastic case
i never replaced any part of my keyboard and i saw a video of a guy where it fell out of a wooden case when he turned it over thats why i asked
Thatâs failed
it didnt really cross my mind you could attach it other than with screws
i am running 0 foam on both of my setups
Uhm guys i have a question so it seems that the lightest oddness in my desk causes my tofu case to wobble a tiny bit i know ot is not my case cause i placed my case on a flat surface my glass table downstair and there it is even so my question is how can i reduce it at my desk ?
A towel/mat?
friction mount lowkey is just a slightly less sad "stack mount" at least in my experience
Yeah maybe good idea
pcb is still sitting right on top of whatever the fck is below it
a desk mat would make your setup look a lot nicer too
Stack mount necessitates a top case, no?
Or else its full jank
Dual artisan pads goated setup

my 3 brain cells were thinking pcb stacking on top of the case "stack mount"
Modius and Jotunheim
good afternoon mr. cam,
do you mind ranking the plates you have tried in terms of material, i just wanna learn about people's perference, especially those who have tried way too many plates
your preference? full subjective, objectivity be damned
try to achieve some sort of balance between plate, mount, and switch
?
But if I could make every keyboard/switch sound good with Alu then I probably would build every board like that
I thought you had good taste. Now I know for sure.
The whale improves the audio fidelity ofc
my thinking right now is that softer plate probably work better with a stiff mount to compensate the harshness a bit. but softer mount can let the stiffer plate shine without making the board too harsh.
You has?
Yeah
What headphones you have?
And you?
An embarassing list
Lately just using some Simgot SuperMix 4s
lol
Nice
Yeah my doctors once told me I shouldnât wear headphones in ear cuz my hearing is cooked
Currently: HD600, HD800S, Focal Clear, Sony Z1R
But I just wind up using HD600 every day because they are the most comfortable for long use. They're my oldest pair.
IEMs long term are definitely worrying to me health-wise.
is that relate to loudness or just iem being in your ear is not good
Wouldn't mind trying some Sundaras
I had strongly considered sundaras
Loudness is less of a concern than impacting/physical stuff
Being in ear
oh fck, i am wearing iem almost 7/24 nowadays
Most common thing to happen is ear infection
I mean you also should not blow your ears out with high volumes on a regular basis, but that's in your hands. In theory IEMs should be better about it if the seal/isolation is good.
And you like it for 800s? I think thatâs my endgame
openback sounds great but it gets tiring after a while + can hear background noise extremely easily
Debating to get 490 pro then 800s or just wait and straight to 800s
ah s44t
The Jotunheim can drive anything I've put against it. Yeah 800s is no problem.
Right
Probably
My only issue w/ the 800s is they don't hold onto my dome very well, so I have to be a little conscious of keeping my head straight upright. Their sound is great, though.
Bigsly is a simple man
maybe i grab a Shure SRH440 just to protect my ears then
Or for a similar price the venerable Sony MDR
i had a Grado SR80e
but i am not sure where tf i put it
iem for me is much better than headphone in game
I had SR60s long ago. On-ear never really did it for me.
for hearing locations and stuff :3
idk if i am just a braindead or what when i wear headphone, my predicition base on sound is just sadness.
Aside from the health issues, IEMs also annoy me if I don't have some way to get side tone if I'm talking w/ friends while playing.
i got it from the recommendation of Marques Brownlee
May wanna delete that cutesy shit.
lol I listen to music also
Definitely recommend trying them on if you can before investing
how do you guys clean expensive mice and mouse pads without damaging
A toothbrush
Yeah good call
yeah rn im using toothbrush and a little liquid detergent
You think if I get the Modius/joteunheim itâd be worth to upgrade to 490 pro or just wait for 800s?
not on the mouse tho
I keep a stiff bristled toothbrush on hand for cleaning various things.
560s not bad but seems like 490 pro is just basically upgraded version
I've never used the 490 so I can't speak to it.
Yeah fair
I think @inland jetty uses one of those two though, may wanna ask his opinion.
like the graphics card?
Headphones
who did i offend this time
have you tried this, mainly my worry is comfort
I have tried them a long time ago once, so I can't speak to their long-term comfort.
The most comfortable headphones I've ever worn have all been Sennheiser's over-ear mid-to-high end sets (but not 800)
just lookin at the texture it seems the shure one is a bit better
But it's also very dependent on the size and shape of your dome
i only know sony's high end ones are comfortable
I've never had issues w/ any band on top of head, but I have a luxurious and thick head of hair.
am i crazy to assume 200 is mid end
maybe get like a 650/6XX
Like my first really nice over ear pair was HD595, which I think they've replaced with 599 and runs about 130-150
do be lookin nice
I got a used pair of 600s after that, I think they were born in the late 90s, and I'm still using them every day. They're probably older than a lot of people here. They are absolute fucking tanks.
that is why i always thought iem is betta
You can replace every part of them that might wear out too, and I have.
ebay or like actually mass produced aftermarket parts

Senn directly sells replacement parts for them still.
But you can also get after market stuff for them
got it, thanks W info
probably just gonna add that to shopping list and get it later though, price way too high for a peasant like me
Oh okay good
Not really no. $200 is kind of entry imo
and that is why i never got into headphone, 50 is what i would consider entry
They are an investment, but I and many others can vouch that they're a buy-once-cry-once sorta deal. See if you can demo them somewhere first to make sure you like the fit, feel, and sound.
i think the issue with IEM and overear is not the type of how you wear them, but listening to music that is too loud. It may cause less damage when you listen to too loud music on overear, but the problem is still the volume
true true, espeically with support from the company
i know the brand has been around forever
Once youâre spoiled with good audio, you can never go back
$250-500 is usually the range where you get the good shit
i mean my iem has pretty good audio
i just worry about using them way too much would not be good for my health
$500-1000 is if you wanna get crazy with it and in that range youâll get some diminishing returns, but itâs an experience đ«ą
so at least when i am in front of my desk i can cope headphone and hopefully still hear things after my 50s
if i live to 50s

If youâre not blasting your eardrums out youâre fine
Definitely diminishing returns after 250-500 range. Do not recommend.
am i crazy to say you kinda have to pay much more for headphone to get similar quality with iem. because the vabration is less... concentrated?
My new Fiio FA19s give you a headphones experience in an IEM which is fucked, but if you adjust your settings to compensate itâs usually not bad

Itâs really just different tunings tbh
And preference
@inland jetty 560s vs 490 pro thoughts?
I mean I like IEMs, but headphones are also good
Copium is a bad take imo
Itâs really just difference preferences for tuning and how you wanna wear it
The only headphones youâll need
You can make the argument of budget IEMs are better than budget headphones I guess, but itâs not super productive
but why would one prefer a headphone is a tuned toward a certain type sound(lets say certain type of music rather), isn't that less... raw in a way?
All headphones are tuned

Of course the aluminum plate wouldnât be black @sacred elm
soundtest asap
Should be fine as long as the volume is at an acceptable level. I just make sure mine is not louder than the noise of car passing by
It picks up oil like crazy ;3;
Also iem is really nice against car passing by since my ears is very sensitive
do i have to take the 80he apart to lube the stabilizers on my spacebar?
You still have the other videos I sent right so I donât have to do a before and after
well mr cam and mr. turingtest mentioned that it is not merely the loudness but also the fact that it is in your ear is not good
yes but you might try lube syringe without disassembling the keyboard
i legit wear iem pretty much 24/7 because i can use my moondrop while sitting in front of desk, or use my samsung galaxy when i am cleaning or whatever

cant say i have one lying around : (
do you have krytox 205
Should I get a keeb mat
Eh, i don't track how long I wear iem, but I'm pretty sure it's not 24/7, just when I'm playing.
Or outside
yea
alum plate is interesting on 80he
keyb fun store doesnt sell it -_-
i have gpl 205 g0 and gpl 105 for the switches, was gonna use that on the stabs too
I got the black foam too

Gonna use their foam thingy in the bottom too

chatgpt is so good for a man with no common sense
clean ear, clean earbud = fine, hopefully.
Now to pull out all the keycaps and switches
at some point i probably grab a pair of 6xx or something but recently spent way too much so iem it is for now

Best budget?
what is that inverted looking jade switch
The gap between headphones in terms of audio quality nowadays is a lot smaller, can get really good headphones/IEMs for pretty low cost nowadays
Don't need to spend thousands of dollars
hello again Erix
The bottom clip snapped so Im using an original Jade one ;3;
On the pro
that is kinda what i was hoping & expecting honestly, like tech should be improving
Nowdays it just comes down to personal preference, like what kind of audio tuning/EQ do you like and how comfortable are they
For example a lot of audiophiles will swear up and down that the Truthear Nova and SuperMix 4 are some of the best IEMs and they're only $150
Even tho there's IEMs that cost 10x that , it's just diminishing returns
informative as always kind sir thank you thank you

Hey Guys, where do you purchase your cables in the US, places you had a good experience and good quality, I am seeing the Alexotos list, but also would like to hear from your experience
I say all that but it won't stop me from wanting some $8,000 Planar Headphones lol
doing well! My Holy60 Black Anodized and PBTfans Crosshair should be here with some other stuff
I got it dirty so fast ;3;
nothing wrong with that, gotta enjoy the little personal space we have. exactly why keyboard modding exists
Or the HD800S
Gonna sand the aluminum plate 4 passes and it was able to fit the staebies
weird that it didnt fit fr4
I needed to sand it
Itâs like the smallest bit that doesnât fit
I dare you
Lol
man i need to get some of the huano lekkers
grow the collection
too bad they're probably all with calder
You know which ones I'm talking about lol?
Hall Effect Headphones
jk lol
Or Sennheiser HE-1
Yeah those require a $10k deposit lol
Something I'll make a room in my house for when I'm 65
For now I'll enjoy my $150-300 IEMs
lol
I love lubing stabilizers
Has anyone tried the lucifer he switches from geon? I was wondering how they sound since they have same mats as jades and raw he but longer travel distance
No first time hearing of them but thereâs always some halo like this. Back when I was starting out it was the Senn Orpheus for⊠uh⊠55 grand
right 3 lucifers, middle jade pros, left ttc magneto pom
Yeah by the time I'm 65 there will be something even crazier
Almost certainly
Itâs for the musks and co
It's like, you don't need to buy a boat, you just need to become friends with someone with a boat

Sigh they flat asf
There staebies
yea theyre mid
but good for the price
jade pros sound better
Sadly
Man if I wasnât HE only I would have a split keyboard
So nice
I had one for a while. Ortho linear. Takes some getting used to tho lol
I was on the kinesis freestyle pro before this. Split is amazing for typing.
Yeah agreed
Iâm just a single keyboard kind of guy and 60% HE is the layout for me
L on me for not getting that frosted case
big L
so....anecdotally - my WPM testing on 62g springs yields slightly slower speeds actually versus 48g POM KOMs. It seems that it can help reduce mistakes, but the extra time it takes to depress keys adds up in a 15s or 60s test. But this obviously varies per person. My 62g experience could be your 82g. Also, does noticeably feel heavier to type on. I think because it takes much more concerted force to press the keys, you end up slowing down. This is on monkeytype English 200, >150 wpm.
I'm gonna try going the other way and use 28g 22mm springs and see how it goes, lol.
I like aluminum plates now
if only it was in black though
28g 22mm springs how/where?
amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D1QN8JPZ?ie=UTF8&psc=1, sunday delivery though, so gotta wait a week for the results đ
i actually bought 28g before, but shorter versions, from aliexpress. Prob sometime last year. So I wanna try the longer ones.
Hype
GEONWORKS

Yo what is this for
Monthly check in to see if any cool good new switches got released?
Last time i hears gaon raw he was still king
Still the same?
Jade Pro king
