If it’s on the outside of the tape, it most likely comes from the case foam. My plastic sheet was a bit like that too. Ofc if you don’t use case foam it’s from something else.

You can find KS-20Us (basically the same switch but compatible) on AliExpress for pretty cheap.

I’d recommend the Black Knight switches though as they’re cheaper, sound a bit deeper and have similar/less wobble than the FOXes and 20Us.

Yes, just remove the keycaps. If you have a keycap puller it’d be a bit easier but it can be done without as well.

No. KS-20Us (by Gateron) are basically the same as the FOXes you have currently but they are compatible with Wooting boards. Black Knights (by MoyuStudio) are a different switch that sound similar to Gateron’s 20Us, have similar stem wobble and are quite a bit cheaper.

There are no good silent magnetic switches for Woot yet. Jades and Raw HEs are the opposite of silent so those might not suit you. You could get Black Knights as they’re deeper sounding.

The issue isn't so much that the switches overload the sensor, it's that the poor magnet quality resulted in an abnormally high amount of them failing to record consistent actuations.

Contrary to popular belief, we don't just test 1-2 switches. At a minimum we will test around 10 switches, but often it's a full board.

i cant say fully but i tried them with leftover keycaps and i love them

i had bag lubed the springs and have a few things in my case like foam and the brass plate for the tofu

but theyre really nice in my opinion
