I have seen 2 people have issues, both were using third party keycaps. It’s not a non issue but I wouldn’t recommend people to use long poles just because they’re getting Jades. Long poles aren’t without cons either.

Not an issue, just a con. You can use a long pole/shallow bottom switches with regular stabs but not regular switches with long pole stabs. You’d have to switch out the stabs when you want to use regular switches again. Makes sense?

Definitely not required but as long as you’re using Jades or any other long pole switch, it’s preferable.

Clip in vs Screw in mounting? Nah. I prefer screw ins but sound isn’t different in the slightest.

Long pole refers to a switch that has a reduced total travel distance. Lekkers have a travel of 4mm and Jades 3.5mm. Regular stabilizers have a travel of 4mm and long pole stabs 3.5mm.

Jades technically aren’t a “long pole” switch as their closed bottom is what caused the reduction in travel distance rather than a long pole/longer stem.

If you’re using the latest Wootility and Firmware, there’s no need to change the actuation point specifically for Jades. Treat the 0.1-4.0mm slider as 1-100% instead. Example: If you set the Jades’ actuation point at 4.0mm, it’ll activate at 3.5mm.

Wow after hours of lubing each key I have finally constructed the board together again and wow it is magical

It was my first time lubing switches and It was quite nice and theraputic with some music in the back ground

But I couldn't reccomend it more to anyone thinking about doing it, it is not hard or daunting at all only a bit time consuming but if yo have the time to do it go ahead! The stock sound is already pretty damn nice but this brings it to another level

Well if it’s closed bottom it won’t be 4mm and there is no best switch, it all depends on what sound and typing feel you want. Technically Lekkers would be the best switch cause the Wooting is optimized around those.

I would combine the Jades, WS Dashes and (add) Pink and Black Jades like with the KS-20s. It’s all recolors of the same switch. I would combine KS-20s under Lekkers, so people don’t misinterpret it as a different switch. I would remove KS-37Bs entirely and replace them with Gateron Magnetic FOXes as 37Bs physically do not fit. I would add and combine Raptors with Hejin Teal/Yellows (same switches recolored). I would add and combine KS-20U oranges with their white version. I would list Black Knights directly under Raptors (same switch with box stem) and Glutinous Rice (not the same as Sticky Rice) directly under Neo Lavenders (same switch with box stem). I would add Kailh Mistrals and Flames, neither are as of now optimally compatible due to their magnet’s strength, same with Gateron’s reversed polari switches. Then there are some other switches that you could add but not necessary, Sharkosaur has a great list.

They’re boxed stem Raptors basically so they sound almost identical.

I like them over Raptors, tolerances are a bit better (not perfect but improved nonetheless). Their top housing is translucent black with gold flakes and it fits on Gateron’s KS-20 series bottom housings (good for combining switches, if you like experimenting). They’re dirt cheap too.

I’m not 100% sure. I’m pretty sure it’s a “length” thing when it comes to Tachyon mode working. Someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

i mean it's entirely possible that gateron will throw in the qr code stuff for them, but it's also possible that it's not needed for wootings ones if they're being packaged differently from others

yeah ik, it just depends on when the wooting's batch is made. before the qr code or after. i think the wooting batch is so that all the jades wooting get are from the same batch so there wont be issues with random changes that gateron decided to add.

a lot of times local resellers selling switches are repackaging normal batches too - it's what a majority of switch sellers do

it's certainly interesting though that gateron randomly added qr codes to their jades. I wasn't aware there were even fakes out there yet
