If you're not looking to spend more I think it'd be like tape mod and gummy mounting. Though gummy mounting means finding an o-ring that works.
And like Tape Modding is just painters or masking tape
the shipping from mekanish for fjell tho
dav3 felt to big for me so i had to return it
Was gonna get a grey one but got black salvation instead
Kinda want the ultra forest Fjell
the grey looks more blue so there's not much that suits it
word was just asking if they're actually in stock as it has the lead time "could be 4 weeks" at bottom
I love the Fjell cases, I just didn't love the height/typing angle. I do think they are one of the best looking and sounding cases for the 60HE.
Very tempted too as was able to acquire a merro60 so if didn't like it for wooting I could make a oring gummy build for it........
Salvation looks good for wooting too
https://github.com/gaclee3b/shared/blob/main/merro60/klippet_fjell_adjustment.jpeg in case you go that route
I bought two Salvations during the group buy and both arrived damaged so I never actually got to build it out. I have heard that they fixed the damage issue by adding foam between the top of the keyboard and the zippered pouch
It's also hard for me to buy the Salvation as I should have done it when they dropped it on NK to $220 for black friday or whatever it was
Not that the pricing on fjell is any better but the merro pcb does make it more enticing
the front height on them is crazy
Personal preference of course, but it was for me. That being said I prefer 4-5 degrees of angle also.
The bezels on the Salvation also have me like hmmm, they're just so chunky and blocky looking
yeah they're massaive
I actually have a very rare solid brass Klippe that I plan to toss one of my merro PCB's in along that same line if thinking
Am I interpreting this imagine correctly to put like thin foam on those points?
the fjell sounds so good because its so dense
i bought a tofu60 redux too
like 23mm or someshit
gonna compare
I had a fjell back in 2021 and no complainst with it, but merro60 wasn't even a thing or going to be a thing for a while at that point
was good tho
That's what it says. I only saved the link since I plan to build that Klippe
Word, it just has no text on it so I was clarifying
so i accidentally miss it and go under or above the port lol
One of the things I like about it lol. ALL of my cables will fit fine
That makes sense lol
dude thats a godsend compared to the tofu
yeah i mean compatibility wise its amazing
the more we talk the more i press buy on this fjell page.........................
trying to get a good friction fit on the tofu
Salvation if it had thinner bezels would probably win the choice
Specific color or the unfinished one?
Typing angle for me is okay as I'm a 8 degree enjoyer
i like it with a wrist rest
front height is tall tho for sure
Yeah some people love 7-8 degree boards
my fave board in my collection f1-8x is like 9 degree iirc
Its what makes the hobby so great. There is no right or wrong in most cases.
im currently just waiting on some keycaps
flat keycaps add to the angle being a little harsh too will say that
flat is what makes it bearable for me
Oh interesting
Ive been using cherry so long that when i put some dsa I have on it. It was like trying to find a needle in haystack on keys for me since they weren't sculpted
when gaming
my switches also came really lightly lubed
to the point some switches get stuck when pressing
gonna wait for my stuff to come to redo this build
my old 60he was handlubed and completely overhauled
I'm pretty much 100% cherry also, but Im also a horrible typist. My gray flag is that I like shiny GMK keycaps for gaming because they get a little tacky feeling and my fingers dont slide
i just fit my module in and used it as is with l45s
got some raptors coming
stem swap and lube job and they should be golden
Still waiting on my module. Warehouse is slammed so its been "ready to ship" for 3 days now. It should be here next week though
nice
š¤
Worn in gmk feeling too good
i got lucky that mine was shipped within a few days
I forget how brand new ones have that chalky feeling
wow first person I heard agree with me on that
worn in abs is so good
I love abs and don't mind shine
i just don't like the look
a rare breed
damn you guys are my people
worn in abs is very nice if u game a lot
makes it grippier imo
even tho it doesnt look it
Yup. But the OCD is strong for those who don't like the shine
i had gmk samurai on my first 60he
especially an uneven shine.
ive had 4 60hes now lol
Yeah people think the shine would be slick/slippery but its the opposite
i might just skip the 80he
i don't really need the extra keys
and i like the customisation of the 60he
I love the wooting products / team so I'll buy it even though 60% is my preferred form factor.
4 of them damn
what happeend to the other 3 lol
got the first batch
in ansi us
then arm in uk iso
and another in iso so i could make another build
and now the module

Yeah when my module and Alumaze arrive next week it'll be my 4th but it was mainly so I could do some custom builds with custom plates.
i have a carbon plate and a copper plate
Ive been able to build a 60HE out with custom plates for the Hive60, Frog Mini, Sirius60 and Raindrop60
but pc seems to be the best ive used so im just using the wooting pc plate
I actually went Aluminum on all of them because it was the cheapest choice through sendcutsend
bro the prices on sendcutsend now are disgusting
I have gotten so many plates over the years from them and aluminum is so expensive now
Its been rough for about a year now for sure. They are super reliable though
very much so
was wild to see some of my plates i paid the $29 minimum for are now $70
Unrelated question. Does anyone here have experience with BTTV or FFZ for Twitch chat integration in OBS?
I always say embrace the shine
Shows true power
I have a little bit
Also you guys make me want to buy Fjell
But idk what color lol
cam how have you liked your salvation for wooting btw
And I donāt need one
I have so many friends who never even unbox their GMK because they dont want to use them haha
So dumb lol
Just curious which is better or if Im overthinking it.
Honestly man, most are using 7tv nowadays
So Iād integrate that personally
Someone else suggested chatterino. I'll look into 7tv also
Ah yeah chatterino is good too
Iāve loved it personally
Still wanna try Fjell just to feel the weight diff
Mainly got salvation cause it was slightly different than traditional tray mount
thockmaxxing>looksmaxxing
I also appreciate the thick bezels on the salvation personally
I donāt want paper thin metal around my keeb lol
I wanna be able to bash someoneās head if needed without denting the case
why are so many people buying aluminum cases? what are the pros?
Sound quality and Premium Feel to your keeb
Unless you think plastic feels premium
Then ignore me
isnt plasti c more thocky?
i would say more people prefer sound over premium feel right?
Mmh thatās hard to answer in one sentence lol
true
hmmm, in my case i would like to have better sounding...but i also want a Low profile case š¦ unfortunately there is no plastic low profile
But it is easier to achieve thock in a plastic case
only a few more days till I get to waste my life away doing the switch tape mod
so i have to trie as many things to even the metal sound out
i have a feeling jades will convert people to clack
I joined hobby for just sound so I"ll add my side lol
60he was for gaming of course tho
yea! thats for sure the biggest reason, a little touch ahead of your opponent
I have the wooting cus i have it
Tbh Iād just say use case foam and PCB foam

hi CAM
premium
anyone know where to get ae black alu plate
brass weight and mounting system showing the benefits
wish salvation wasn't so blocky looking as would buy it right now lmao
I like the blocky look lol
Damn all Fjell colors sold out except Black, Purple, Silver, Unfinished
Lame
same
i like the 5 degree and salv case design
my type
yep been talkign about it all day I"m getting a black fjell
I"m boring tho
Huh, are there any vendors that sell 60% plastic cases for the wooting? I was looking through the compatibility chart and it seems like the kdb one is out of production and the ADK64 is 3d printed?
you can find like super cheap plastic ones i think
prolly be hard to find a high quality case made of plastic
the stock plastic case is nice I've heard
you could just stick with that
True, I was just hoping to find something that looked a bit better/different colour
you could paint it if you wanna go through with that
I feel like if I get black I just have too much black cases
I dont think I have a single black case lol
Yeah I always had the issue of never buying black cases even though my fave is black with wob
lol thatās why I feel like I canāt just get a black Fjell
My GMK Mecha-01s just came in, this is my first GMK set ever. For me, I really dig the grainy texture of the keycaps and hope it never shines
It will shine
Well I have some sad news for you lol
Looks amazing but it will shine. Embrace it

lol
Depending on how your fingers/oil is it wlil shine and be smooth
Okay I will try, I already do, but I will up it
Maybe not rest my fingers on the keycaps?
Just when you get home from work or whatever, wipe down keeb/mouse mat with micro fiber and wash hands and forearms
Thatās what I do anyway
If youre stressing about it now, then dont bother typing on them. If you embrace it now you'll love and enjoy them
Okay, I can't not type on them, they feel so good
I will accept my fate
anyone know where i can get ISO keycaps?
thx
!
IF anyone wants to play around with a nice inexpensive non-HE bopard, check out CannonKeys sale that just dropped - https://cannonkeys.com/products/mystery-bakeneko
Mysterk Bakeneko, with mystery keycap set and mystery switch set for $89
yo guys, currently have the 60HE+ module in an alumaze case, poron foam in between plate and pcb + 1 layer of foam at the bottom of the case with L45s and PBT wooting keycaps
i'm trying to improve the sound a little, I find it kinda chattery especially on the edges, the letters on the middle are kinda fine but could be improved on as well i feel like.
anyone got recommendations on how to improve everything for cheap, to get some thock? i'm in europe and I could not find the jades on a local website, taxes will probably be horrible if i order from the US. how do they compare to the raptors?
also I put the two standoffs on the bottom of the case, does this make any difference at all feel and soundwise? thanks for your time i'm really new at this
To fix the uneven sound / dead sound around the mount points you can try burger mounting or it gummy/friction mounting it. Raptors are fine if you swap the stems with the ones in your lekkers. You can also try removing the foam between the PCB and plate. Check here for more info - https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399
Should I use the included switch film in tofu60 redux for wooting 60he if I want a more thocky sound? I'm also using module60he foam, I just don't want to mess up any of the actuation things
@stray tiger does gummy o-ring friction mount work without the foam switch pad?
Sure, without or without the pad between the PCB and plate doesnt make a difference. In fact without the foam removes the issue of the foam getting squished a little on the corners when you remove the corner switches. If youre using a module youll need to swap out the screw-in stabs though
Switch films arent worth your time/effort with the lekkers
ye I already have tx ap stabs. what are the advantages of no foam inbetween?
I have been preferring the sound with nop foam or silicone in between but thats super personal preference.
gotcha. what does it change sound wise?
I like the little bit of hollowness it added.
what is your current config
for $60!?!
just lekkers
original first batch l60s and new batch l45s
thanks for taking the time to answer! my bad for not seeing the faq. tbh i dont feel like opening any switches, especially seeing the potential issues with the raptor - i think i'd better wait for the jades to be somewhat available here
just checked some videos about the different mount types - looks like burger mounting is the more accessible way to do what i wanna achieve. I'll give that a shot when i got some free time on my hands, thanks again for the useful infos
Np and good luck.
Time to get you some jades
Yeah pretty good learning board for sure. And the GMK Fuji set is $60 each if you buy 2 sets
frik now you making me want to buy this board if i ever do
Bakeneko for $60 is really good
fr
Looks so unfinished
The zinc weight kind of booty too
Itās a good idea but makes it more pingy unlike brass weight
I mainly have an issue with how the coating looks
@tawdry tree they sent me the box pinks instead of the tactile browns but they do not work with the 60HE. They do fit but I'm guessing the magnetic strength isn't enough to register of the polarity is reversed. The bottom magnetic flux of the pinks is 2000gs and I assume its the same for the rest.
yeee the aluminum cast ones leave a bit to be desired since they're just painted essentially
Yeah it seems like a good deal to have some fun but I donāt really want a case that looks like that lol
Exciting to see shipments will soon be on their way
My pallet specifically will get there on the 25th and my module specifically will be shipped on the 28th
I wonder how long it typically takes to ship to US (I also have expedited shipping). If I were to guess, Iād think like 4 days total meaning Iād get my module around Feb 2nd- Feb 5th or 6th (business days)
We are all on the same shipment and yeah I expect they will start showing up next week.
Hopefully it doesnāt slip to Tuesday but it wonāt make a huge difference
Yeah hopefully š¤
Iād imagine once they get shipped out it will probably take like. 3 or 4 days tbh
So probably end of next week for a decent amount of people
Yeah
My black pc plate is shipped
Itās gonna be weird switching from reduced travel Cherry Mx silvers to a full travel 4mm switch again. Wonder how Iāll adjust
Im ready for the rapid trigger
poggies
got raptors so should be good

trying to decide if i like coiled or straight cables more
Iāve used both for over 2 years and I gotta say straight cable takes the top. Much easier to move the keyboard around and not have to constantly re-adjust the coiled cable. Plus straight cables usually cost a lot less
I still love coiled cables. They look amazing, but theyāre way more impractical
yeah thats what i was thinking
Yeah, the whole having to adjust the coiled cable's position in relation to my keyboard ot keep it parrallel would bug me personally. I wouldn't be able to look at it and not do that
Yeah I was always re-adjusting it. I ended up getting an aviator straight cable and never switched back. Paid far less too
The Wooting cables allow you to choose either so thats a safe bet.
Me personally, I prefer straight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fogf_q5w3u4 @quiet bay
The GMK67. Arguably the best budget keyboard you can find in the market right now. For just under 60$, you're met with a solid barebones kit that's good to use out of the box.
Watch me go over the kit and do some modifications on the board. Please feel free to leave any kind of feedback as such will be appreciated!

I was looking at cable mods pro straight cables, I was thinking about the wooting cables just dont entirely like any of the 4 colors they currently have, I know someone was saying that more color varients would be coming out tho at some point
Yes quite a few new colors coming
I dont have polyfill ._.
is there a time frame for them or is it still up in the air
I dont have a specific time but I "think" they said the cables were ready, just needed to get them in the warehouse. Dont quote me on that but i think thats what I heard
Okie sounds good, Ill just wait then and see what colors they release
wtf that
This but WK
I kinda fuck with things that replace where the windows key would be
Yes
Yes
idk but someone reviewed it and said they got their shit
i'm french
Ah
thats why i dont wanna order on gateron website
i ordered multiple times from ali, never had an issue ever
Trying to find a US seller that has the raptors
Yeah that link is good
Divinikey
thank you very much guysss
They outta stock tho I think
Geon Raptor HE Switches are hall effect switches meaning that the actuation point of the switch is determined by the keyboard software due to its magnetic nature. These switches are only compatible with some keyboards that support hall effect. Geon Raptor HE Switches Feature: 18 included in each pack Linear Hall Effect
I lied
what set
Wym
keycaps
Oh in that image?
yeah
GMK Muted
i'm kinda surprised we still didnt get a review from a big youtuber like badseedtech or optimum on the jades or raptor, those guys are suckers for custom mods
Well no one stocked them but geon for raptors till now and gateron only for jades
well im guessing they're not gonna make a vid abt 2 switches
or they can make a short
that'd be fine
yeah
idk sounds like ez money to make
Jades never finally

Canāt wait for my wooting to finally sound as close to proper keyboard
No more rattle sound
Iām not big YouTuber sadly but I have videos comparing both
I have good mic and am YouTuber technically so Iāll do it for the people
Wow raptors are actually pretty cheap compared to the jades
Indeed
na module waiting room
monday
im trying to find your yt as we speak
Countdown to monday
and now switching to the jades? damn bro
Yeah
Chasing perfection the life of a keyboard hobbyist
Should have seen when I was into the Mx side and not HE now
xddd HE keeping you away from buying too much stuff
That and I found my sound profile/builds so stopped caring about Mx stuff
this is my third keyboard and first ever custom, and i'm super happy about it although i cant get used to qwerty for now so i'm just using azerty with qwerty keycaps lmao
yeah ig once you find your endgame there isnt much point building thousands of keyboards
Stop while youāre ahead is all I will say
This will be my first time using an aluminum case, have always had meh plastic cases
thats fucking insane lmao
Yeah it was p bad lmao
Sold 11 boards I had in closet since start of 2022 couple weeks ago finally
When re-selling them, did they lose a lot of value or did they typically retain the value originally spent on the boards?
Always wondered how well customs sell
Those ones lost a lot
Like some GMK caps sell for more than they were purchased for
Gotcha, bummer š„²
Iām still net positive overall but yeah
What typically sold the best? Layout wise, maybe caps or switches
Haha that's awesome
People just wanted anything keyboard
I feel like the hype is increasing here no? Or more customs are just more available so people don't purchase them second hand anymore?
Peopleās buying power has crashed a lot since 2020-2021
So market still kind of dead
Since economy is bad in most places
Yeah that makes a lot sense actually. Covid, high amounts of attention to things people can upgrade from home, keyboards were boomin. Makes sense
Everything is messed up now. Prices are insane everywhere even on snacks I used to always buy
Yeah I used to watch Taeha Types a lot in the past
AI so smart
Lmao how they miss the mosue up sm
they have assured me there is no mouse in the photo
ok now bruteforce it to show a real keyboard
I haven't uploaded them to YT but I've tested L60 with Switch Tape Mod, Stock Raptors, Frankenswitch Raptors, Handlubed Raptors, Stock Jades, and Handlubed Jades
ai must've been fed a tonnnnnnn of cheap chinese gaming peripherals
bro is a walking encyclopedia for wooting
try saying "Computer Mice"
It might think of mouse as an actual mouse
š
In which case, the AI is correct
what are you using for this
KS20u's soon
I got the outemu magnetic switches today and they do not work. I believe its a polarity issue.
ok i fell for it just ordered the jades š«”
We got em boys!
You think they swapped the magnet poles around?
i.e. Wooting HE Sense is North Pole and the Lekker stem is South Pole
for example
Yes, I believe its similar to the KS-37B's and the magnets are reversed. I say that because the Gateron HE 2.0 switches have an initial magnetic flux of 102±15Gs with a bottom flux of 905±80Gs. The Jades are similar at initial flux of 102±15Gs and bottom-out flux of 800±80Gs. These outemus are initial of 80Gs but bottom out is 2000Gs. So either the sensor gets overwhelmed really really fast (so fast that it doesnt even register at .1mm) or the polarity is reversed.
wow 2000g
Crazy considering the magnet is 1/2 the size (I know that doesnt mean anything)
I wonder if they have a dead zone kinda like the Razer Huntsman did
at least I think it was the Razer
mightve been the highground
There's like a 0.5mm gap where the switch won't register at all
I tried the full actuation range, tried resetting the board, but even with touch effect turned on nothing would even begin to register
Hmm
Does the magnet even stick to the PCB?
or take the lekker stem and 37b stem and see if they stick together
lol
Then you'll know if its reversed or not
Someone else in our wooting support channel suggested putting the switch on the backside of the PCB and testing. I might play around this weekend
That'd be really interesting to see lol
@fluid ravine Put my L60s in my frog mini again and I think you'll appreciate this spacebar
If only alphas were as good as spacebar
Got a sound test of your board?
Yeah but I kinda wanna make a new one since I've tuned my stabs compared to the most recent vid I have
but I'll share anyway
Looking forward to hearing it
Sounds like the Corsair K60 keyboard
But this isn't your Salvation keyboard?
Yeah sounds a lot less chattery
absolute shite they re
spacebar is chilling tho
Nice
Yeah your spacebar does sound great
holy cow-
that space bar is quite nice
the chatter not too bad im not gonna lie
I just had the most wild thing in all my times of my keyboard hobby days
frog mini does make it up
Got a question for the tofu60 redux is the space bar screw required or nah
What gives it that sound? Just the frog mini and L60s? Sure caps come into play but the main reason for that sound?
I tried to screw it in with my module
what
which one is this?
Salvation, Jades, No Case Foam, No PCB Foam, Friction Mount 40A
Yes I test unorthodox things in my Salvation
Like Case Foam and Gummy Mount
Things you normally wouldn't do in a Salvation
I like the way my spacebar sounds in this recording tho
I have never seen a usb cable do this before
you burger mount your salvation yet?
No
first one is my custom white cable, and second one is my black amazon cable
first time for everything after using so many keyboards that's great
WTF
literally baffled right now
that actually seems like the next plausible thing, assuming it actually does its thing on the two standoffs
Sounds kinda the same to me
might have to use longer screws
I have tons
yeah just marginally longer will do
Yeah m2x5mm
on the second one you should hear more hollowness and thud
its surreal irl lol
found the issue in just that cable i was using the connection is too wide and somehow putting pressure on the assembly
never seen this before that was wild
Probably more noticeable IRL
or you're smokin sumthin
it like goes from nice and muted/poppy spacebar
Actually this would make a lot of sense
If the cable was applying more or less pressure on the PCB and somewhat shifting it inside the case
Could def change the sound slightly
probs was the pom plate being forced up from what i can tell
as the amazon cable connection was super tight
l60 still rattly dont' you worry tho
In fairness, the Jades have some chatter but it's very minor imo
jades tomorrow
1 layer
Yeah and if anyone else does it, I'd recommend only 1 layer
what's the process
Lol
i've lubed 10000+ switches in my time of keyboards
Time consuming af
but that is just another level man
Yeah a few of us did that to our Lekkers
and was it actually worth it?
Yes
Whatever jades here tomorrow
Just have to break them in after
@median spade what did you add to the spacebar to get that sound?
Not as good as Jades or Raptors tho imo
I have some interesting builds with foam into their spacebar and it made it pop more
it's just a pom plate with l60 hand lubed in frog mini
Although I personally felt like Switch Tape Modded Lekkers sounded almost similar to Stock Raptors
the keyboard is doing a lot of work
Where did you even get the POM plate?
Hmm that would make sense. POM usually has this poppy sound to it. I think POM is my favorite plate material
oh yea btw i usedl60 stem in raptor housing for 3 weeks, and then switched them both back now
raptors are fcked to say the least
they sound very rattly or chatter as you would say
completely ruined them
But your other keys don't pop like the spacebar. I wonder why the spacebar had such a large effect. Obviosuly it uses a larger key but it did make a large difference
tx stabs are just like that even on my custom mx stuff
very muted on mods other than spacebar in my experience
Interesting, i'd be spamming that space bar in game just for the sound
Yeah I tried Raptors for a bit and stem swapped and wasn't really feelin them as much as the Jades
https://www.instagram.com/p/B4r-Join1Hc/?igsh=azBmOTZkZ3M5c2g0 this is by no means a wooting keyboard but it also uses POM. Makes this poppy sound
And another video by @koenromers with the latest cable made for him.
I like the Sirius' look and sound, what do you think ?
.
Keyboard: Sirius (with weight)
PCB: Plain60-C
Plate: POM
Sound dampening: 2mm neoprene foam
Switches: Gateron Yellow (clear Tealios housing, 60g SPRiT springs)
Lube: Krytox 205g0 (springs with Krytox 106)
Stabilisers: GMK...
415
Yeah I didn't like the combo personally
heads up any lurker or people searching this do not do it
felt too tight for me
l60 stem in raptor after 3 weeks will ruin your raptors
Oh that's what I'm saying
They are more rattly and loose then before
they sound worse than my lekkers now
Wtf lol
I used them for 3 weeks and they had broken in nicely
but i was like lets swap back to normal as bored
now they are super rattly it sucks
That's odd
I think it's just because the l60 stem was so tight and probably the friction made tolerances more loose
tbf, Calder has tested Raptors and he felt that they were very similar to Lekkers
outside the nylon top wouldn't be surprised tbh
can't imagine them being anything other than gateron
yeah, I don't remember his exact words but he felt that the housing wobble, and sound, etc were very similar to Lekkers
alright i'll go swap them back for the people brb
Found it
but he also felt like it added Friction with the stem swap, which I did not like the feel of
Ill be doing the same in a week or so and then sending them to a local friend to pop on a break-in machine for me
Mine were hand lubed tho
Fancy, how long do you leave it in the machine
Just waiting for the new batch of l45's to arrive next week
Yeah I'm getting 45s with the module, not that I'll use them but I'll mess with them
Canāt wait for less rattle tomorrow with jades
I think its a matter of how many actuations you want
New batch? Like a V2? I purchased the L45's as well
New to me, not new to wooting
That's awesome, I wonder how much of a difference that would actually make to break it in. I gotta be honest I feel like I wouldn't notice it
We need cherry to make a mc black HE switch asap
I've been using some switches for years and years on end and maybe it's cause I use so often I don't feel they're smoother or something
A broken-in switch is pretty noticeable to me
I've heard some people mention this in the custom keyboard community but personally haven't noticed it
in terms of trying to get a consistent sound and feel across your board
If you listen to vids with freshly installed switches, they usually don't sound consistent
My raptors hand lubed and my lekkers too but man lekkers are more muted
A lot of companies will sell switches broken in with a certain number of actuations.
SD raptors and FG lekker
Interesting, news to me
Yeah to me, Raptors are more clacky than Lekkers
wouldn't 'breaking in' switches wear down contact points and increase wobble
Anyone who uses GMK caps here, if I wipe down my GMK caps will it make them shine faster over time? I typically wipe my keyboard down daily
Most modern switches are rated for like 50 million actuations so I dont think there is a worry there
Wipe down with what?
and HE switch are even more
around 100 million
i didn't say failure, im just talking about rubbing of the switch and wearing down the stems
or any contact/friction surface
Thats what Im hoping will happen if the lekker stems are tight in the raptor housings. Want to break them in a bit
I think that would be the case if there was zero lube , I'm sure friction would wear down the plastics over time
But with lube, I don't see that happening
okay, yeah - i personally have never had wobble in a 'real' mechanical keyboard exist to a degree that i was bothered by it or noticed it
i was just thinking through the idea of plastic rubbing against plastic for 100,000 actuations
Most people dont
if you care about shine so much take some nice pictures of your keyboard now
Or just don't buy GMK
Well, not necessarily GMK, just don't get ABS if you are worried about shine
Just a lightly damp microfiber rag with water
GMK is far too popular, gonna give it a good shot and try it out. But I have seen slimy looking ABS GMK caps
That's fine
that's because their owners are slimy
be a clean person and you won't have that as much
Yeah I get that, but GMK has this sound signature I want to try for myself. If I really don't like the shine I'll maaaaybe switch out of it
Yeah its gonna happen regardless
When they start to really shine is when they start to feel really good
Shine increases Gamer Grip
exposure to the pH of the oils in your skin over time does it, you can't avoid it by cleaning it, even daily :\
Hmm I see, I'll just have to see as some time goes on
Sounds good, I was just worried if I wipe it down daily with some microfiber rag and water it would cause the shine to occur faster
My spacebar and WASD already have a slight sheen to them
Harder to see it on white keycaps tho
the shiny part of used abs keys is more grippy so i actually think its a better outcome
relative to the brand new state of them, anyway
game in a dark cave, shine problem solved
š
My room is always well lit š„²
exactly
My computer room has black out curtains
Same but I do have a lot of RGB lights around, I keep it fairly dim but there's always some lighting
Yeah i've seen your setup
Shine is a feature
Whats in the mini fridge tho
Haha a bunch of rockstar/capri suns and sometimes soda here and there
pretty setup
Gfuel and cocaine
Oh yeah that too
ive got bang energy and ashoc in my mini fridge
I just have water and ginger ale
Good choice, avoiding caffine
If I could I would choose non caffeine drinks every time but most the drinks I enjoy just have caffeine in it
Like if non caffinated redbull was made, it would be my go to drink
Lol yeah I cut out energy drinks and soda several years ago, no health issues or anything, just tryna be healtier
You can count Ginger Ale as soda tho ig
give me sum
that pc is pretty sexy
2070 Super, Ryzen 5600x, 32gb of ram, 9 asiahorse fans, strimer cables, 360mm deep cool castle cooler AIO, MSI tomahawk x570 motherboard
My next build will likely be in a small form factor build and I plan to mount it under my desk to give me a super clean and minimal look
Then L60 stem in Raptors
L60's sound deeper
yeah Lekkers are deeper
L60 are indeed deeper
It's like the same sound with a different pitch
whereas Jades are an actual different sound
jades tomorrow lets go
i swear lekkers do sound shit but idk why but i feel like the frog mini is saving the living hell out of it
cus i dont hate any of these in a way
my room setup makes everything very muted and such
Yeah I'm curious on how the Jades compare to this sound test
I shall let you know tomorrow
yayyy
Please do
also i think it was jsut the case i was using prior to this frog mini for a bit
these raptors sound fine again

tonights biggest discovery was the cable making my spacebar sound worse i shall never forget it
yeah I think the cable probably was messing up my tofu too oh well
not going to rebuild again lmao
This was my tofu with raptor and pc plate
Frogs
Yeah it's a maya
Gh60 tofu v1 clone
Raised bc I have gummy mount and poly fill
lmao
for tray mount its probably fine
just that my little friction mount looked horrid
because of the port the front of the pcb gets angled up and I hate it
ohhhh yeah that would do it
I feel like 8K is so unnecessary based on the information and test Iāve seen on it
Even 4K seems overkill
As humans, feel like 2k is all we need
its like slanted upward for you?
my polyfill feels dry af

Its dated now that 540hz monitors released š¢
the 540hz was really good but I wouldn't say the 360hz stuff is outdated haha
Best I've seen for motion clarity so far tho for sure
I game at 240 not sure what more would feel like
Yeah that would be nice oled and high refresh rates
Itās very minimal after 240
Iāve tested a bunch of monitors
compared to 360 almost nothing. a pinch smoother
144 to 240 is nice
I currently have a aw3423dw for single aplayer stuff and then 360hz for competitive
Anything after that is barely noticeable to human eye
all depends on response times of the monitor
as 540hz from 240hz is very clear and makes 240hz look "blurry"
I hear 360hz to 540hz is more noticable but I have no idea. Never tried it. Not yet
At least the 1080p gaming monitors
I'm playing CS2 if you want to join but you guys are probably all Val player's
Tarkov player

Want a 360hz oled but don't want to sell my kidney
I'm playing skyrim rn tho
This was the 540hz for example
i tried playing CS2 Dm last night
This doesnāt only come down to Hz tho
i liked it but im trying to figure out the settings and everything
quake
Also depends on panel and manufacturer
other than that enjoyed it tho
it is.
what do you consider cheating i wonder
Explioting potions
I see it all the time. You're just invincible

K thats all
rapid trigger is probably the only thing ive benefitted from
in this case it's hz and the fact the response times are within 90% compliance
refresh rate and polling rate have alwaaaays been so marginal to me
They are to most
Only real competitive gamers are going to notice the small differences and even then, half the time itās placebo
well persistance blur is still persistance blur
it's why blurbusters.com is a thing
yeah also need to have the fps to match the refresh rate to get the benefits too
otherwise it's wasted
well not wasted just not as beneficial
Hence why 540hz is overkill unless you have a 4090 and are an esports player
13900k/4090 gang
I rock oled for single player stuff, and then my 360hz for competitive titles
i have to wonder how many people who chop their mice up are actually good at any competitive game
2025 - 5090
Yeah best of both worlds this way
indeed
I just use OLED for everything
What games/productivity work do you use the monitors for?
Yeah my OLED is the aw3423dw and im not huge fan of ultrawide for my fps stuff
Tarkov and Real Estate Auctions
Sounds like fun. Yeah OLED higher resolution sounds like the way to go
was thinking about geting the 1440p 360hz one that launched, but I want 27 inch 4k 240hz
Yeah I mean I just love OLED, Iām not tryna deter your guys from buying whatever you want lol , I know 540hz is good but just dont feed into marketing and always do research on your products
If I were to choose between these, I'd go for the 4k 240hz. 360 is seriously not much of a difference from my daily usage so far
Yeah I still like 360hz for less tearing, mousefeel, etc but I want to have a one monitor soution for my what i do and 4k would do that
Iām waiting for more new OLEDs to drop
and the 32inch one that came out too big
Of course, research is #1 when purchasing these products along with deals š
Preferably QD-OLEDs with glossy coating and 240hz+
Nope
They playing catch up
Was looking at the recent ASUS one
But after researching Iāll pass
never asus
ASUS monitors in general are always higher priced and worse tuning then competitors
Tbf ASUS has pretty good color accuracy out of the box in my experience and test Iāve seen
This is the color test of the recent ASUS OLED
Which is really good tbh
Slightly warmer on the Kelvin but Optimum said it wasnāt noticeable
Now that's something I don't quite understand. The color accuracy of monitors. I need to dig into that more
If you do any photography, videography, graphic design, etc then its important , less so for gaming unless you just care about colors looking as the artist/devs intended
You can fine tune monitors color settings but need a special device that cost about $300 or copy someones settings off reddit or something
I think I just got used to how my msi monitor looked because it was so warm compared to anything else
Most monitors are colder out of box, so warmer is usually good or at least usually closer to accurate color
that color calibrating device was one of the things i looked into
its starting to show its age anyway i just need a new monitor
Yeah i wouldn't really get one unless you make videos and do test or you have a job that requires the color accuracy , like photography etc
Most monitors you can just turn up the warm level by like 1 and use sRGB mode
that's usually the most color accurate for a lot of monitors
I actually bought the monitor several years ago because I was sick of how rdr2 looked at 1080p
Yeah exactly, which it's nothing of what I do at least not yet. Maybe one day down the line
this was also when dlss was a big thing so it was interesting times
maybe it's because you picked it up, but that usb port is sitting so much higher than mine
maybe it's just the photo angle
odd, modding a stock keyboard with:
tape mod, gummy oring friction mount and polyfill doesnt make a whole lot difference on the sound
and im curious, does the pc plate that came with the he+ module accept plate mounted stabs
yes
what plate?
stock metal plate
then thats why
Im not a science nurd and i wouldnt really explain this really well but let's just say uh tape mod+steel plate doesnt do anything
i would like to explain it further but thats all i can say for your as of right now
brain not working :P
explain it once and forgot
i heard how it sounded and i was like it didnt make a jack diff
sounds about right
Pc softer and lower pitch
i dont remember if its the right word but i think it has to do with resonance
holdup
ah fk
cant find it
Stainless steel just very resonant and sound travels through it fast
Ok im asking these because I know nothing about keyboard stabilizers and have paid zero attention to them so far. Can you use different stabilizers in your wooting keyboard and is there a good reason to like ex stock ones are not good. Also is there different types or whatever or will it just work if I get the right length.
Alright ima start answering your last question first. There are three main (theres a bit more out there but we mainly use these three) type of stabilizer mounting when it comes to mechnical keyboards. Plate mount (Clips onto the plate), Screw Ins (Stabilizers that are screwed in from the bottom of the pcb), and Clip ins (Like Screw ins but instead of using screw there are clips that go onto the pcb).
Now to answer your first quetion, yes you can use other stabilizers depending on which Wooting HE board you got. If you have the Wooting "60he", you are only available to Plate mount stabilizers, but if you have the Wooting "60he+" then all three type of stabilizer mounting styles i have listed earlier is compatible with this module.
Lastly, may you elaborate on "Is there a good reason to like ex stock ones are not good." I do not understand if this a question or not but I hope this answers most of your questions.
Yes thank you for the answers what I meant by the last thing you mentioned was me asking if the stock ones are good and if its worth it I guess to change them.
Also any plate mount stabs would be fine I assume right
Yes, any stabilizers can sound as good with just lube and grease but if you have further problems I would try out other mods like holee mod, etc and checking if your wires is balance and all that.
Ok thanks
But there has been reports with users that have housing wobble for plate mount stabilizers depending on how loose it is on the plate, this can be fixed with tape/bandaid but I won't be explaining the whole thing cus I gtg sleep haha
The stocks ones are perfectly fine, they're pretty great imo
Alr mate I gtg now
Have a good night, I hoped I fill you in with the knowledge you need.
Thats nice to know, would you recommend modding them instead of swapping them out?
Well depends
Sorry for so many questions
Did you for your board
All good
Not a lot tbh but I just wish I had more time to answer
No, I only used lube and grease for my stabs, if you're wondering, I have the TX AP plate mount stabilizers.
I would swap them out if you need it to get replaced or when your wires get really warped and what not.
Ok, well thank you well as you said you dont have much time so if you want you can go now š
Thank you ā¤
Well have a good night mate

anyone else experience paint chipping on the tofu60 redux?? especially the e-coating colours
bout to go full ham on my wooting
wooden gh60, polyfill, bandaids sitting underneath stabs on pcb, lubed and fully modded tx ap stabs with lubed jade he switches all with their own respective lubes (spring oil, 205g0, 105g0, xhtbdz), gummy oring mount switch pads for pc and maybe the plate, pom or pc plate depending on what i like more, pbt wob set, switch films both foam and plastic version seeing what sounds better. also have a keeb mat
yup
my ecoating white has chipping so ive contacted support and they are providing me with a new black one however i imagine if a lot of people keep asking for replacements theyll probably refuse to send new ones out
worth a shot i suppose but it seems the ecoating are prone to chipping very easily as im super gentle with my gear
Looking for some advice: I have the magnetic jade and tofu60 just waiting for my board in the NA-SEA order now. I see an option to choose the OG build instead of the plus, should I go for this? Iām not really a modding enthusiast so Iāll probably just do some simple mods like tapes along with changing switches/cases. Do I need the 60HE+?
if you don't know whether or not you want screw-in, you don't need screw in, as a rule of thumb
buy either of them and youll be fine IMO
if you only need the PCB, choose 60HE+(module)
did u have to send ur white one back?? or do u send back after receiving the new one
nope, they let me keep it
preferably just get the 60he+ as its a little cheaper and has the option for screw in stabs. also comes with a pc plate
just said i had scratches on my board n that i dont eat or drink, scratch or put any chemicals near or on my desk. im pretty careful with my stuff so i have no idea how it got damaged.
they were pretty generous just sending a whole new one out to me so it might be a one time off im not sure
did u contact them through discord or website
allg
The tofu60 redux comes with the switch foam, should I use it or it would be too much foam and result in a more clacky sound?
and do I need to do the tape mod?
id say use it, and yes tape mod is generally always recommended
just do 1 - 3 layers of masking/painters tape
okay, ty!
yeah i recently got switch foam and they sound pretty good tbh
Okay, I will use it then :)
@sullen salmon you on??
wsp
I think they're talking about some sort of rebuilt?
switch foam is switch films but foam instead I imagine
Is it a defect or nah
Dms
ah ok
pre built*
where'd you get this ss from?
is it a YouTubers build?
or a pre built somewhere
its from badseed
I thought so

Woo...
he probably jus added foam switch films
yes this one
ah okay
so yeah they don't come with them that's just what he added/modded
they will dampen a d improve the sound
I think the switch Foam
is wtf do u call ir
it*
I think its the PCB
Modification
He must've done the PE Foam above the Foam plate insert or either that he must've
Btw run a brass screw that youre given once You recieve it
USE IT only on the keyboard Standoff
The rest of the standoff's work
any recommendations for how to sonically seal the bottom hole on lekker switches
jades have sealed bottoms so...
Jades bottom out
Thatās why they sound like that
And they have way tighter housing
considering adding porous gauze to the walls of the housing for that lol
are there any sound tests for that specific mod?
Stabies v2.1 are compatible with the 60he+ module right?
Clack?
Foam = deeper
I want to hide it because I can see what's inside.
advice pleaseļ¼ļ¼ļ¼ļ¼ļ¼
It may be difficult to understand because it is through translation
the amount of effort just isn't worth it. Just buy jades or raptors.
Lower your brightness
agreed, waiting for the double rail gateron switches tbh lol
Gh60 case? No way to hide or lower the plate/pcb
is filming recommended for jades?
Stabies v2.1 are compatible with the 60he+ module right?
Module? Yeah probably.
60HE+? Toss up
Alr thanks
Nope
Filming a waste of time on all HE as it currently stands
