here in NL we mostly use Ansi tho
Dutch layout is a thing but it is hardly ever used
2 Years on ANSI and I still often hit the key above enter haha
I have the same issue with small left shit on ISO
damn that sounds like a very unforunate typing experience
lol
those are some cool novelties
you have a wooting cable plugged into it
Yeah I love me my wooting cable
It's sturdy and the precise length from PC to keyboard
Keyboard is called Cypher
damn it is expensive
I mean sort of yeah
I have some more expensive boards in the collection
It's all about perspective and how deep you're in the hobby
I sold off all my boards that weren't 65% except for one. I do miss having a 75-80%board from time to time. If I played more mmo's I would get a larger board for sure.
Tkl is the prettiest layout !
I'm a 60% fan and order the look of that layout but there is a time when a larger layout makes sense
65% is the most comfortable layout for every day use imo
But anything 60% or above is very much usable to me
75% keyboards just have the nicest cases
There is no real standard for 75% though
I only own my Bubble shown above and in the process of building a Box75
ik I just find that most pretty keyboards I see are 75% layouts or 65% keyboards
Good 75% are either hard to find or very expensive
65% pretty much dominate the market
I just want dedicated function keys 😢
Just confirming, the HE module isn't available for sale just yet, right?
Correct. About 2 more weeks
Thank you, and will the lekker switches be in stock around then too?
I believe @bronze grove said they will be on stock in the next week or so.
has anyone tried to lube the lekker switches with triboysis 3204
i only have that type of lube so i'm wondering if its worth lubing it since the lube is so thin
3204 works perfectly fine for linears
Besides 205g0 I would use 3204 over anything else
okok tysm
has anyone tried gummy o ring with tofu redux?
gummy o'ring in other cases
does the same thing
¯_(ツ)_/¯
i tried it rn and it was a really tight fit. i stopped it because pcb wouldn't go down into the case
first time?
yeah
yeah its suppose to be like thatg
If you get too thick of an o-ring or the wrong size, thats a possibility
over time the pcb foam needs to be compress
I cant lie, I'd buy this
😂
ok ok
just finished lubing my keyboard i didnt do it until now cause i was worried about performance but tbh it just feels smoother lubed even if its heavier and stuff
the heavier feeling will even out with time, but yeah for sure it's better lubed for me
peanut butter so much better, I can smell the nutty flavor
Silicone plate pad, poron plate foam or none? You tried? @fluid ravine
From Wooting video the silicone pad or nothing sounds best
He didnt do silicone pad because he couldnt gummy mount. No pad might be worth a shot though
What's a good size? I found one off thockpop
Hardness: 30a
Outer Diameter: 190mm
Inner Diameter: 183mm
Cross-Section: 3.5mm
Check the faq #🪛│modding_faq message
Works on my tofu. The fit is quite tight
What is the best case for 60 he?
i did no pad before
no chance im going to find the video tho haha
Alumaze60
uh here
I bought a wooting keyboard a week ago, how long will it take to arrive in Mexico City?
Wrong channel
🥹
bought the 60he and wondering if there's anywhere I can buy lighter springs for my keeb???
Not currently
The L45’s should be back in stock soon if you’re down to swap the entire switch
While im eating, list some confirgurations you want me to do a sound test of
(Cant do burger mount since my standoffs are damaged)
Please
alrighty bois and gorls
be prepared to be sent full of videos in this chat
wait should i make a new thread
What's the brand gummy mount o ring you use
What do people like for shape? I like typing fast but also like something easy to navigate blindly.
bakeneko 60 30a
Alr getting things ready
alrighty lets get started
ok ima make a new thread (Phone recordings only?)
new log for the configurations here yall go
just posted one

Innovative 3-in-1 design, which combines three essential functions into one seamless solution without wasting any material. Thank you!
@fluid ravine
Can’t decide on the concrete or black alumaze60 😭
Go for concrete it looks dope
concrete for sure
Yeah I just need to see some builds with it and I’ll prob be sold
hmm this looks new to me
never seen this before....
it might work im not sure
ohw ait its too thick nvm
.2 and .3 is a nono
nor is the material im pretty sure
I’ll post my black alumaze build as soon as I get it delivered and modded
I don’t like light colored keyboards anymore so I had to go for the black
Is it bc hard to keep prints off them?
Do you recommend the Deskey ones instead?
should be easier to keep prints off the lighter one honestly - I’ve just always liked darker peripherals. I had a light colored custom that I used to use but I sold it because I fell out of love with the lighter colored one
Also they make poron ones too i think or PE cant remember
poron
i honeslty dont really recommend filming the lekker switches
films can be warped since the lekker switches have bigger molds than a normal switch
plus the only thing it will do is just making the housing tighter and make the switch higher pitched (if using polycarbonate)
I think 3d printed will give a deeper sound but idk
not an expert on films haha
I dont think any films are going to give a deeper sound honestly.
Alr going to install the silicone now
Eee
2 more configuration then im done for the night
wow silicone very poppy, a little bit muted
well idk about little but
very interesting
i like it
What do you think about switch pads?
Gummy mount works with silicone now?
no
doing tray mount

I ordered some pre-tuned stab hopefully no more rattling 💀
I want silicone but i really dont wanna deal with tray mount
rip
Yeah and im considering removing tempest mod
bout to do silicone pcb foam + tray mount + polyfill
i only have 1 layer
no layers for me is very quiet
Polyfill without case foam?
what?
😂 polyfill is a type of case foam mod haha
yeah but did no1 ever try mixing them
im not taking chances haha
or maybe...
ok @polar girder gonna do no foam at all
no case foam and no pcb foam
be prepared for your ears
as they might bleed
hollow
case hollow
module would sound ok
¯_(ツ)_/¯
fucccckkkkk
i need to do 2 more recordings actually

Im thinking stock case foam + silicone + gummy mount and remove tempest
Imma just force the gummy mount 💀
It won't even stay still when you try to install lmao
I cant find the dimensions on it 💀
Wait hold up
This ain't even that bad

alright everyone
im done for the night
https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1166204178759176283 here you go again for ones who missed it
my main config will be the first one and yeah let me know your thoughts and any config i could try
You beast.
what i learn:
Appreciating my build and what i have as i progress really far from what i had back then
Thanks bro
Now I go and listen to them all before bed time. 😴
haha ❤️
yeah i imagined lol. maybe when i get my 45's i'll try again
@polar girder #1166204178759176283 message sorry to ping you now mate but just wanted to say the flex comes from the plate but the gummy oring gives the bounce
143 too
change plates and my stabs wont work
time to wait for my tuned stab to be delivered 💀
hey does anyone have a cablemod modmetal cable? just saw it on their website but its impossible to find good pictures or a video of it to see how it really looks.
Here's a one from their Instagram, it looks super
that reminds me of those things you run cables through the wall with haha
aviator connectors are so dummy thicc
yeah at least they offer lemo or slimline
ye saw that one pic too but would love to see the other colours. also wondering if flexibility might be a problem.
should be fine even if you're tilting your keyboard at 180deg for gaming
those are just the second largest car plugs, they’re like 70 cents a set
you want lemo or knockoff lemos
*xlr plugs
nah not xlr, what was the name…
GX16 or GX12 is what they use
I like those super tiny 00b size lemos
0b you can use with normal cables and they’re sleek af
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EHMaLif there ya go… pretty expensive but for a single set order it’s not bad i guess
Pc plate is cream
@polar girder when I get home I will do like 2 sets of recordings
1.silicone/poron pcb foam+gummy mount/tray mount+no case foam
2.no PCB foam+gummy mount/tray mount+poly fill/wooting foam
I still don’t see silicone pad/gunmy/poly

That and no PCB foam, gummy, poly seem most interesting to me
I really like muted sound of gummy mount
Polycarb keycaps seem to be the most silent when compared to PBT Cherry, PBT ASA and GMK cherry. Anyone else have similair results?
My experience is typically that the thicket the keycap the more muted it is rather than the type of plastic used. While there are sound differences between ABS and PBT plastics, it's less of a factor then keycap thickness or profile
The pc caps were the clear 2048. While I haven't measured them. The ASA keycaps seem thicker but also significantly louder
anyone change out their stabs for Tx clip ins? is it worth it?
Those only work with the module version
gotcha! cherry clip ins work?
What?
60HE is clip in. Module is planned to be screw in
No
You need plate mounted stabs
Clip ins are also pcb mounted
I found some! was just curious if anyone tried them over stock. the wooting ones sound fine to me after lubing and tuning
Anyone have alumaze60 pics? I saw one of the concrete earlier but need moar!
Well there’s plate or PCB clip ins
Plate mount are always clip ins
As I understand it
Concrete so sexy
plate mounted stabs are not called clip ins
They don’t clip in?
they are still not called clip ins
Clip in is pcb mount
Plate mount is plate mount lol
I just read the conversation and I got lost half way
lol ok mb mb
Plate mount:stabilizers clipping on to the plate
Screw in: stabilizers screwed into the pcb with washers and screw
Clip in:like screw in but clips into the pcb without using screws and washers
Isit just me but why is my pc plate like bended when i screw in everything
Is like a rainbow shape at the top part for the numbers
Did you use the foam or the silicone?
A photo would help.
yo
did anybody else have a hard time taking out the switches in the wooting uwu lmao
With a switch puller? No took me about 5 seconds each.
If you take the keyboard apart it’s way easier
like i was yanking felt like that shit was gonna break lol
Gotta wiggle a bit north and south.
Can't say I agree with that on the UwU
Ahhh I don’t have the uwu lol
With the module the difference between stabs is just acoustics right?
mb
Debatable.
Enthusiasts tend to favour PCB stabs.
Are you getting the module?
Want to know what stabs people would get besides Durocks
I’ve had everglide panda stabs in the past and they were extremely nice
Those are screw in only though I believe
Fair, thanks
Prob you screw in the tray mount to tight on both sides
will try it tomorow when i wake up
also if i do hole mod will it make it feel like it is not smooth cause i havent lube it yet only done hole mod will lube it tmr when i wake up
Is it lunch time yet?
baha
Ive owned stabs from most major brands and the truth is with proper lubing and tuning almost all stabs can be made to sound good.
Doing algebruh homework rn
I posted a video in here yesterday of like 7 or 8 different keyboard stabilizers
The ones that come with it. If they are as solid as the ones on the OG 60HE then they are sufficient
I have no reason to steer you wrong. Im all for trying to save people time and money.
Does anyone know how thick the pcb is? 1.2 or 1.6
I wanted to buy some tx stabs. I would assume it's the same for the module
1.6mm
Ty
Anyone tried both silicon and poron form?
That would break the PC Plate.
Yeah “both” is almost never the answer
Quite a few people and wooting released a video yesterday with their testing of both choices as well.
I only found one video only tested sillicon
Hmm maybe I just need to try both....
Or try none!
Fr
Im currently using none right now and it's not too bad
Assemble it without foam inbetween, record sound test and then remove plate and add in foam, and record, then remove plate and swap in silicone, etc etc
fair enough. In that case, go with foam
Oh f I didn't reoly
Just read this
Can't do silicone and gummy together
I already did it
Idk which one you looking for but here just take a look for yourself
Ahh mb
recommended mods to do to the wooting 60he ?
Where’s that video?
Thx for data
I do tape fiction mount
Thank you
Black FR4 plate needed
Whens the new 60he module releasing aprox?
Wdym new 60he? The module?
If so, probably some time next month
It got delayed to catch up on customer service tickets
Maybe in the next two weeks if we’re lucky tho
Yes the latest estimate roughly 2 weeks from now!
Aluminum case and PC plate
Re-lube the switches and re-lube/retune the stabilizers
Decide how much or what type of foam you want. Tape also, too
GMK keycaps, sure why not?
Welcome to the dark side

Aaaaaah yeaaaaaaa!
So this pc plate that just came out, Its for the new module right? But also works with the current one too?
Yes
I Just realized i didnt write module there lol sorry yall
Any info about the gummy mount, poron foam and poly fill mods you did in one of your vids?
I like the muted thocky sound
Planning on adding the holee mod and tempest mod and not sure what else
What are you hoping to accomplish with those 2 mods?
What kind of info are you looking for
Deep thock/muted sound profile, I appreciate any input
Advice/whether you stuck with that setup, anything to be aware of.
Read here as neither of those mods will help you accomplish that. https://discord.com/channels/167181566978555904/1103459740186595399
Oh I appreciate that, I was following someone else's mods assuming the soft sound was because of those. I'll watch that linked video shortly, but are there certain mods you do recommend after making several different kbds yourself?
ok i found
I'm a modding minimalist. I believe a proper lube job will address 90% of most stabilizer issues for example. Outside of lubing I don't recommend anything specific other than experimenting with different materials. If you want a deep sounding keyboard there are specific things you can do that help increase lower frequencies (larger volume keycaps for example) and things to reduce high frequencies (try thinner dampening materials like polyfill). There is a definite science to it and it's easy to get caught up in the hype videos, influencers and snake oil. Start slow, lube first then do one mod at a time. Check the stabilizer tuning video in the FAQ and if you want to know more about the science of the sound check out keybored's videos on YouTube.
Lubing my switches for the first time ever and yeesh. Tedious but worth the effort so far.
Installing the PC plate and figured it was the best time to do them
First question. If you're in a car traveling at the speed of light and you turn on your headlights. Do they do anything?
No
Finally put my pc plate in, I have the L45 switches lubed, used the silicone switch pad, and have the stupidfish case foam in my original tofu60. I also burger mounted the pcb like in the badseedtech video. Pretty happy with the results so far.
any1 knows if pcb+switches combo is comming? saw a thread on reddit where two people said different things
I saw a YouTube comment that the 60he module is “coming” but nothing otherwise
It's coming soon
60he v2 module is coming out soon
PC plate
Wooting v2 pcb
Screw in stabs
Silicone and poron foam
Last estimate that I'm aware of is a Nov 8th date for the module.
I’m so torn about the module, I really want the pcb mounted stabs but I already have so much into this one lol
Wdym
Nvm I get it now
Like I don’t wanna buy the module just for the pcb mounted stabs but I might lol
If you're happy with current stabs the screw-in ones won't make a difference to you. Save your money and enjoy your current board. Screw-in stabs aren't inherently better they are just inherently more secure.
If I can sell my stock one in the original case maybe I’ll consider it
with some work, you won't notice much diffference
you can tune them gud enough where you'll be happy and forget about the v2 pcb
Yeah I have enough dielectric grease on them now I’m pretty happy with them just gotta keep them lubed every so often
forget about the new pcb then
In the super rare case that your stab housing get loose where they clip into the plate, you can put a small piece of tape on the edge of the opening and they will be super tight again.
solid tip
do mods one at a time
keep what you like
try to experiment more (dont do risky stuff like drilling holes in your pcb)
Keep track of your screws 😁
Do u recommend paper or cloth for medical tape used in switch tape mod?
So either works fine?
Paper tape
what keycaps would you choose and why?
Drop GMK wob abs https://drop.com/buy/gmk-white-on-black-custom-keycap-set
Or PBTfans wob pbt https://kbdfans.com/products/pbtfans-doubleshot-wob
Specs Simple Base = Alpha + Icon ModifiersBase = Alpha + Text Modifiers Material: PBT material Profile: Cherry profile Production Method: Doubleshot Manufacturer: PBTfans Packaging: ABS keycaps tray with designed tray cover Reminder: Only keycaps included, no keyboard Compatibility: Cherry MX switches and MX-style clon
pbtfans
when i see this channel i feel like an npc because i prefer keeping my keyboards stock
pbt doesn’t shine after prolonged use - unless you like the shine then it’s up to you but I use my keyboard everyday. My GMK started shining for me after less than two months of solid use.
the only mod i’ll probably consider is switching to the alumaze60
OK thx
Nothing wrong with that at all. If you like it you like it. I see a lot of people come in here trying to solve a problem that doesnt exist or fix something that isnt broken only to hate the result and have wasted a lot of time and energy.
by the way do you know if the alumaze60 comes with foam inside of it or do you just reuse the one you have in the old case
It will include foam
hmm i’ll see once i get my keyboard (its in transit) but i’ll probably stay stock for a while since i spent £190 on the keyboard itself
paper
toilet paper? dissertation paper on criminal law in india? rag paper?
gentle paper tape/medical tape
thxthx
thxthx
I have just realized something
everyone is going for a „thock” sound on their keyboards
what if i go for the opposite
something new lol
full clacky wooting
There is clack build but it’s not popular
Clack all the way only because I have the HHKB if I want to thockidy thock
The soft typing that pc plate gave
coming back when all my kb uses pc plates
3layer of tape is to thick and 1layer dose notting hmm...
I just want my 60HE to be this obnoxious

Yeah, I like thock but I ain't putting all that effort into the 60HE. The less work I have to do the better imo
i already have filmed my switch and tring to tape mod switch
it is painful
honestly i might just give up onthis..
I will never give up pc plate
Feels so good to type on
Tbh i wont flim my lekkers, the housing is tight enough
I kinda miss the stock case, might go back to that for a while once the PC plate comes. The design is actully A-tier
Yes
I was excited to have my first keyboard with actual switches instead of a rubberdome lol
dose wooting okay to northface with cherry profile keycap? i tried with normal mech key i feel its not working but i see it works with lekkers
Mine came yesterday and i somehow fked my stabs so i had to go back to stock stab
It should be fine
im using cherry profile keycaps rn
where did u get this?
My local store, they do it for like 3$ per stab
North/south facing are just for the rgb lights
Doesnt affect the switch at all
Why not just tune yourself? Ezy pezy
I did and mines all sorts of fked rn
oof
And i cant be bothered anymore
wtf in which country do you live
yeah but it hits keycap on normal mechkey
due to shape
Singapore
nice
But north or south facing the switch doesnt change the switch itself no?
Like the shape is the same
and it hits keycap
its fine if u put keycap upside down but...
but i have my switches south facing because i dont want any rgb
North/south facing works the same on wootings so u good there
It's fine on wooting and I was wonder why
That's all
It kinda dose matter for normal mechanics key switch
Oh yeah it depends on the switches for sure
Man I wish I had a local keyboard store 😔
My PC made from wooting now 😛
rip
stuff from mash are like so damn expensive
i tried looking at stuffs from xtreme solutions but they mostly sell prebuilts and some caps
anyone got any suggestions on what type of painters tape to use
I slide in that thing and it is friction mount like gummy oring mod
best in slot painter's tape? 😭
Anypainters tape would be fine
Also anytape is fine along as first layer is painters tape
ilumbkb, pantheonkeys, landingpad. Mash is only has basic entry items.
I personally use ducktape on masking tape and do friction mount (works same.as o ring)
any good deskpad/mousepad sources from sg?
ilumbkb sells the deskpad that normally comes with the gmk keycaps
Yeah i removed mine because I wanted it to be softer
But silicone pad doesnt work with gummy mount 💀 maybe it will work if its a 2mm thickness o ring
but for burger mounting 1.5mm is okay right
bounce/flex test
do a spam sets of keys on each row seperating left and right side (To see if they're is any dead spots like tray mount)
Mod faq say 1x4mm but slightly thicker should works too
i see
Just need a longer screw so it’s easier to do
lol
ntnt
I think a 2mm thickness will work
cooking in algebruh yuhhh
finna be done for the whole year heh
pretty indeed
what plate?
im guessing stock plate?
not noticing any flex from the plate so im guessing the bounce is coming from your tape mount
it is pc plate but i did notice bit of bounce in steelplate too
so ig its the tape mount is making it bounce
yeah I saw on youtube but dont remember who was it
i kinda use this always over oring
cuz i always have ducttape...
just get the 3m tape the blue one
i live in sg too
nice
you can also look for items that you need from taobao will be alot cheaper
lmao idk whr to buy the orings
Maybe shopee?

Our Alumaze and the Tofu Redux are the most popular choices these days.
thank you
Is Tofu Redux made of aluminum?
this wooting sir
I think so? Aside from the brass plate. You'd have to go check on KBDFans' own website.
yes it is aluminum
thank you
Mods ?
While I appreciate this could be considered HOT or LEWD, I will not be moderating it.

I use 4.5mm OD 1.5mm ID 1.5mm Width
Have to be 4.5 or
i think my lube just broke in; i went from thocky to creamy
I'm not sure and I haven't seen any build guide using 4mm
Trying to find 4.5 mm ones but all i see is 4
Then go for 4mm
For the screws do i need specific head types or
Any will do
im curious what exactly is a burger mount
There is a video wooting made about it
You can read the modding faq also
i still dont have my wooting sadly but ill probably go watch it
gotta wait till late november
im gonna get the keycaps im swapping in place of the stock ones much sooner though, might show em off when they come in
just a set i liked off of amazon
M2x6mm Cap head
i know it is but im impatient lol
itll get here when it gets here though
idk if this is the right channel to ask but does anyone know how easy it is to swap the l45 switches into the 2HE? just switching a few but i'm not too sure how safe it is :/
Do i have to remove stock lube before hand lubing switches?
It's easy and safe

also how does swapping the plastic case on the 60he for a metal one alter the sound im curious
if i consider doing it later down the road
thanks :)
if anyone got any good alternative suggestions for switch pullers i'd be quite open to advice too lol
all local places are out of stock afaik
You can quite easily wedge them off with flat screwdriver too
If you don't like the metallic resonance of the stock plate, then yeah go for PC plate. Typing feel should be a little bit softer, especially if you remove the pcb foam
tysm ill just try to be careful i guess :)
well i dont quite mean the plate i mean the case the keyboard rests in
or are those the same thing
Oh wait. Me. Brain. Dead. oops. I honestly can't remember the difference it's been so long now
regardless the 60he is probably gonna be the first keyboard i mod
even if its later down the road and i only initially run it with stock + different keycaps
Maybe this video will help, dude compares the stock and alu
Notes: I have the tofu redux without the brass bar. Stock foam on both cases.
The PC plate is a marginal upgrade in sound for the Wooting 60 HE. I only really recommend upgrading if you're very dedicated in modding the Wooting. I'd say just get a clean keycap set and maybe a tofu redux without the bar if you want it to match. However, to improv...
all the other keyboards ive had before are entirely solder switches and not designed to be taken apart
because ive been buying crummy "gaming" keyboards all my life till now
Above all else it's a gaming keyboard to be enjoyed; modding can always wait
yeah definitely i did get some nice looking keycaps for it though to replace the stock ones with
those will arrive before the keyboard
if you do that then you might wanna order a pack of switches
to replace the broken ones
at least from my experience
might be skill issue
I don't know how hard you'd have to flail with screwdriver to break switches, had no issue whatsoever with swapping them in my UwUs
any tips for getting them out
do you lever them or push or what
bcuz I don’t really wanna break anything lol
More lever than push
Amazon an option, this is pretty cheap for what's included?
cool ty might order that but I’m trading someone for the switches tomorrow and I have poor judgement
Expensive shipping 😭😭 but I’m done, will need you guys to help me installing it properly @stray tiger @fluid ravine - I guess I’ll probably have to put the rubber pads I got in my tofu redux case
35a 50a and 30a
After that, last mod would probably be Thock 3in1 Film/pads (potion) from keebmat, holee mod + bandaid + foam in my spacebar because it’s rattling too much
Then I’ll never touch it anymore
Anyone know how long and whst is the size of the screw for wooting 60he the one that screw the plate and pcb together one

Spacebar makes uneven sound and I don't know the cause of it, if it's broken, or if i can do anything about it, ideas ?
right side makes a quite unpleasant high pitch clacky sound (i could fix that by just using my left thumb to type but that's uncomfortable)
probably the stab wire as culprit
Cant wait for ppl to start getting the alumaze casess wanna hear those sound testsss as well as color combos from keycapss, painn my concrete one arrives laterrrrrr
New Kailh Magnetic Switch(still in testing, unreleased)
hmmm....design quite similar to the Gateron/Lekker Magnetic Switch
structured just like the Kailh BOX series, so I bet it's pretty steady and won't shake easily.
looks like there's some extra room built in for a sound spring. Maybe it's part of a product line that gives a noticeable "bump" or "click" feel?
is the 60HE compatible with cherry profile keycaps? i could always just flip the switches around but i'm wondering if people have put them on just fine without flipping the switches
the keycaps i ordered say OEM so it's probably a nonissue regardless but there might be a chance theyre cherry profile
Yes. No need to flip switches
is it possible that i somehow damaged or bent it by just removing the spacebar keycap ?
ah okay, good, north facing leds possibly had me worried but glad to know the lekker switches accomodate them in that position
hmm, not sure. but if pulled on unevenly? was it fine before?
well when i pull out spacebar i do one side then the other one (idk how to to otherwise)
i dont think thats wrong per se
not sure if it already did that before, i had issues with the keycap itself so i removed it multiple times before actually using the keyboard
it's not an insane issue tho, just a little annoying
OMG. Can't wait for the switch sound test.
I'm no expert by any strech, but checking the wire seems worth it
okay thanks
Sounds like just the normal tone difference you get at times with a tray mount board. There is a screw in point near the right of the spacebar that could cause the a slight sound variation if it's too loose or tight. You can also try removing that screw completely.
oh ok thanks for that information, i didn't think about the screws at all
Swapping out your switch plate can seem a bit challenging, especially if you're new to the world of keyboards. Don't worry; just follow this tutorial, and you'll be good to go in no time!

i have the same issue with the w2he im pretty sure and i ordered some durock plate mounted stabs
i hope itll fix it
oh ok, at least it's not just me that damaged anything
at some point i'll try to pull out the stab to check the wire and also check the screws but i'm a little scared haha
i mean, if the issue comes from stabs, it should ?
Hmm
@mental hemlock
My Pom plate is out for delivery a day early 😎😎
update, the wires still sound unbalanced so i dont know what to do
i put durock plate mount stabs on my spacebar and it didnt really do much
ill check for that
so it kinda also eliminates the theory of the screws too tight/not tight enough, i have no idea except for the wire itself what it could be, tbh i never modded any kb so my knowledge is very limited, hence why i'm here asking for advice
try gummy or burger mount
might be
I can say for sure next week, unless it gets delayed
I can't use the discount code somehow xD
why does yours arrive later? Is concrete shipping after the others?
Yeah the concrete in a different batch
really? My order shows NA-Maze for my batch and I ordered concreete
or is it EU only that it's a diff batch
Might just be eu
ty for info
Pc plate poron foam
do you feel it feels more thocky than the steel plate ?
yes absolutely
I have the same case (redux?) and i have steel plate but i feel like mine sounds more thock although maybe cos of the recording with phone ?
it is different than steel plate for sure
could be on phone or i got brass weight too
let me record mine and ill compare as im looking to get pc plate so was waiting for you guys to show some sound clips haha
and i was using keebmat under my keyboard
i got brass weight too
yeah i have redux, brass plate and keebmat the normal one in black
yeah ill do one now and see
alright
My stabs are not sounding good but the normal keys are fine
actually yours do sounds a little deeper i think
all wootings are really different tbh some batches are really better if you mod them correctly
yeah mine is deeper your sound is really good too
did you use stock foam ? or tofu redux foam
yeah im still workign on my stabs cant get them to sound right so may have to order differant ones
yeah we need better stabs for sure
i have the stock foam in fright now just the big piece i took the smaller strip off
same
i thinkmight go back to redux foam for a more thocky sound
i didnt like tofu redux foam imo
iam just wondering will they add stock foam on pcb module
yeah i have some packaging foam lying around that i might cut to size to try out
Anybody knows Sander's tag?

POM PLATE IS HERE BUT I CANT MESS WITH MY KEYBOARD TILL TUESDAY FUUUUCK
Switches lubed with 205g0, 5 layers tempest mod, clipped stabs epsi mod, burger mount, poron switch pads, poron stab pads, PC plate, poron case foam and silicone pad between PCB and plate, spacebar tape mod
in your opinion does the silicone sounds more thocky
or the poron foam
any chnace of a sound test?
@lilac island
Awesome love the sound !!!
Yea concrete is diff batch
where can I see that info? mine seems to just say NA-MAZE for my batch but I ordered concreete
I mean https://wooting.io/product/alumaze60 when you select concrete here it says NA-MAZE-B2
Mine has estimated delivery nov 1st-2nd
Oh ok I thought you meant concrete had its own batch you’re just in the 2nd batch for the case
Na-maze2 is only a few days later so no big deal
My order shows oct 30 - Nov 2 so you’re isn’t much diff
Is there a way to reduce the "slap", and "ping" the stock spacebar makes. I'm overall not unhappy... but that one key could use a bit of TLC. (Wooting 2HE)
You could use painters tape on the inside of the spacebar to dampen it
Two layers is all you need
No need to lube stabs or anything?
I mean I would absolutely lube the stabs if you haven’t done that already
Just got it out of the box. Figuring out what is annoying me.
That’s basically a precursor to every other mod for stabs
Baseline before you start is important 😉
Keyboard came in! Fully modded the thing! Super pleased with how it turned out.
There’s a chance your spacebar could be uneven if the sound it’s making is drastic - I would check that out before doing anything else if that’s the one key bugging you. Changing the caps otherwise would just change the pitch really - the pinging is most likely coming from your stabilizers
The base is on a steel plate so you can only get it sounding so good
There's also a certain level of stiffness I'd want from this board.
I might retry 3 layers of switch tape today now that Im liking my new configuration
Good luck fam
I hope you like it if so
Thinking of modding and need your advice in astehtics,
I thought of a white n black combo.
Now either.
White cable
Black alu case
White keys
Or the other way around
(mutch cheaper)
Give sound test I'm not understanding
Not sure I have a good enough mic to pick it up.
I'll give itg a shot.
In general chat, I'll drop my Mic neat the board.
Just tossed some ceramic keycaps on a wooting. Next level sound.
Niiice! With matching furniture as well
!!!
I need to get a white cable
dat is super clean! the F & J keys though
This looks epic af, not my type of keycaps but I take this as inspiration
Shh I know but I need the bumps 😔
Unless I learn to not use the bumps 👀
It didn't come with scooped F/J?
Wdym scooped?
Some kits have the bump and scooped which feels slightly more concaved than the rest of the keycaps
Nope didnt find any
But it looks alot nicer without bumps :v
Ima start using this
Im tempting you accidentally

Well I use rubber keycaps for wasd from Tai Hao which are red but I don't think they will ruin a white and black built
ok so I have found that not having bumps is ok 👍
gained enough muscle memory to know where my fingers are
now I can keep not having bumps, making my kb look cleaner!!
Odd choice by the designer to have the bars when there's already bumps imo. And no scooped FJ according to the interest check
Where do I look for "unique" keycaps (EU)?
ima just think of this as training for cerakeys 😤
(cerakeys dont have bumps at all)
Do they have scoops?
tbh no idea if cerakeys have scoops
Lol. I just rested my fingers on the top row, to see what it would be like without bumps. I don't think I'd ever get used to it
actually quite easy if you have muscle memory
Not really sure what you'd consider unique but here's a list of vendors in the EU https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/
Yeah true, I just like the scooped feeling
compare the videos with the same mounting and case foam but with different pcb foam
honestly for me its hard to tell
Left or right
Whats better
Left/3 layers switch tape
Right/2 layers switch tape
I should probably not be using 5 layer tempest mod huh lol
huh the last time i compared it
3 layers was louder than the 2 layers but it wasnt that frigin loud
yeah im guessing the 5 layers is a bit too...
Probably cause of tempest layers
Loool
loool
lemme try 2 layers
only hab 1 hehe
right way better
ok so
I put 2-3 tape layers
and
the less tape layers the more clacky it was ;-;
I think ima need to invest in some dense foam
hmm
you know what
Ima try to get moleskin tape and test it out
Wtf
yep so now ima try to get moleskin tape some time and try it out
not liking how my wooting sounds rn >:v
Listen to the difference when you apply moleskin compared to painter'ss tape to your PCB!
Moleskin was what I used to wear on my feet to prevent blisters when I was in the service. Now, I've rediscovered my love of it again, on keyboards.
Disclaimer: I have not tried keebtape to know for sure if this is the thock king, but will find out soon!...
That may be one of the worst videos Ive watched in a while. Not only was there very little sound difference but there wasnt a comparison of no moleskin vs moleskin so you dont know if the moleskin made it sound deeper or if the masking tape made it sound poppier (which is what usually happens)
well worth a try
it seems that moleskin does make it deeper
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4daNGthy2vk&t=255s found a video that includes no tape, painters tape, keebtape, and moleskin tape
I was challenged by @keebmat to do a sound comparison between my beloved moleskin tape mod and the keebtape, a proprietary tape mod that keebmat's developed. I ended up doing a sound test with no tape, with painters tape, with moleskin, and with the keebtape.
Quick synopsis:
- No tape: hollow don't recommend, unless you're a purist. (I'm not...
this should be a better comparison
Way better video thanks!
I don’t really know a lot about modding keebs but the tape mod is just about sticking tape to the back of the pcb?
What is the required size for gummy o rings for burger mount?
What options do I have for that silent keyboard on a wooting? Is it basically just foam, polyfill, gummy mount, and bandaid mod?
Polyfill won't really help, you would be better off with something like killmat. Bandaid mod isn't needed unless you have some issue with your stabs that isn't fixed by solid lubing and tuning.
Yes
I appreciate that, but is there something better than polyfill that isn't that expensive? Everything I've listed seems to contribute to a deep/mute sound, so I'm trying to get a refined list of things I need to buy to assemble what I'm hoping for
@lilac island i was going to do a stabilizer lubing/modding video for you but inow i think about it
that shit is going to be hard
Haha no worries thanks though! I think I just got bad stabs with my board I've tried adjusting and relubing but seems to have gotten worse since last time we spoke about them at 3am my time 😂. I have not tried dielectric grease though I've been using the white lube xht I think it's really thick that might be my problem
going to make the video anyways
will send to your dms
I want to redo my tape mod had 3 layers not sure if I should try 5 or 6 layers
Stock one is steel.
Worth it? Varies from person to person. I very much like it and would buy it again.
yes
no watch pochizo's vid
it actually sounds pretty nice, i really like the stock case but i also like the weight of the redux, maybe i will get the 60he module and put it in the stock case
layers of what ?
switch tape mod
Mods:
Stock Case
PC plate
Poron PCB Foam
Polyfill
Lube Switches (Krytox 205g0)
Stock Stabs (Lubed Housing and Stem with Krytox 205g0, Dieletric Grease on Wire, Holee Mod)
Switch Tape Mod (3layers Paper Tape/Medical Tape)
Bandaid mod (Dry)
Tempest mod (1 layers)
Gloirous GBPT Keycaps
Gummy O'ring Mount/Gasket Mount
Poron Switch Pads
Goat, what’s the difference between the tape mod and tempest mod?
same thing
tape mod is the simple name of tempest
Thank you
(Switch tape mod is a specific mod for the lekker switches, whole different mod)
Where can I read about that?
Stop reminding me that you have a good thock 😔
Can I assume that poron pcb foam and poron switch pads are the same?
man thats so much work !! lol
Are you talking about poron pcb foam for the plate?
It’s the 3rd and last mods on his list
If you’re talking about poron foam for the plate then no they’re not the same
they are almost definitely not the same
in this context im like 90% sure pcb foam means plate foam
and switch pads are the foam that goes under the switches
onto the pcb
For the poron foam layer between the PCB and plate, the one that came with my stock keyboard and the one that came with the PC plate kit are slightly different in shape; the stock keyboard one extends down onto the spacebar, and along the upper right corner of the keyboard. Anyone know why those are different? Will one not fit with the PC plate for some reason, or are there significant acoustic implications?
Thank you all for the info
i believe that the pc plate pcb foam is made differently because its made with the module that they plan on releasing some time in mind
the pcb foam that came with the original wooting 60he should be better suited to what you have now i think
if someone else could verify if what i am saying is correct or not that would be nice
mmkay, I'll probably use that then. Will update here if it doesn't fit or smth lol
the pcb foams that comes with the pc plate are poron and silicone
the one that comes with the stock is also poron
the difference between the 2 porons are the shape
the one that came with the pc plate have certain parts cut off
Are you planning to make ur keyboard look nicer 🤔
so technically one has more foam than the other
i will try
lol
i am such a big fan of your build but the default wooting case doesn't exactly go with the rest of it
thats what i was thinking
you could probably find some kind of plastic case thats gummy mountable for like 50$ or so right?
idk i haven't looked at many non-aluminum cases ever
hence why i said "some kind of plastic case"
Guys
I COOKED
I shoulda gone with a plastic case lol
Cheesy corn?
in hindsight plastic cases definitely have their benefits
:OO
but honestly i like my comically heavy wooting
On the bright side my wooting looks epic cause of the case
i made what i now realize was a mistake of getting a white case
the problem being that i'm not the biggest fan of non black and white colors
in my setup
and imo black keycaps don't fit well with it
so im stuck with white keycaps on a white base
which is honestly just a bit boring
whatever at least i know to get a black case next time i do a keyboard bujild
what cases yall thinking of i should buy
in the future
dont know any plastic gummy oring mounted cases
never seen one tbh
only seen full built
Get white and black keycap mix like mine :v
Idk Ive never bought a plastic case before
Are you in the US @fluid ravine ?
wait i dont think it would work tho
yeye
Will tirade sell him a case?
DM me your address and I'll send you this gray one that I didnt use last week. Its not plastic though
woahh free??
Yeah free. He does a lot for the community and it's just laying here. I'll ship it out to him this week but I'll be in New Zealand for 2 weeks so I might not be able to see the upgrade he posts until I get back 🙂
Is that a lavender Fjell?
No, its a semi rare (like 1 of 20) lower profile Fjell like case lol. Even has a brass insert
Now that I think about it how many alu cases do you own lmao
Wow
sexy
Yeah its like a 5-6 degree fjell. No wrist rest needed
🥵
Nutty
Those keycaps on it are mint too
Knocked it out of the park with that one
Homie Tirade cops all the exclusives lol
It's just standard black on gray keycaps nothing special
One day I’ll be rich enough to get my own exclusive
oh yeah @quiet bay did you ever have issues with some of your tx stabs being really sluggish?
LMK when you get rich and I'll sell you my solid brass klippe 🙂
especially since you used molykote?
Gomna be quite a long time
Hmm not really
They feel crisp for me
hmm some of mine are
For you and me both. Ive been waiting 48 years 🙂
the one that i tried molykote on i actually had to remove the molykote bc it was too thick
Oh the lighting kind of gives it a lavender hue
Oh plus I’m always rocking night shift on my phone lol
Still clean tho
i think maybe i have to lube the point where the wires attach a little better
like that cylindrical section on them
bc on the ones where i intentionally added lube to that spot they seem fine
but the sample size isn't exactly large
Oh would it be crazy to get a hundred pack of tiny baggies and put a drop of oil in each one and put 1 spring in each one
Seems kind of crazy but also low key much easier
And risk free of snagging any springs
Watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxHb6CJc9V8
Here is how I mod my stabilizers. I get asked this a lot of my streams and honestly, I figured why not just record this so I can link this video instead of having to re-explain it every time. I hope you enjoy it. Please remember this video is only covering lubing and installing, some stabs like cherry clip-ins, you'll need to clip the bottom leg...
I was gonna take the easy route with lube and not open it but really do need to lube the springs
already did lol
i just need to but some more work into them i think
Tried it again later
The syringe trick is where is ats TBH
we'll see about it next time i open it up
i dont have a syringe for it 😢
i suppose i could just order one
Cheap off Amazon
For wire balancing?
what?
for adding extra lube in the cavity while they are already in to make it easier to tune the amount
I’ve seen people wire balance using syringes lel mb
Or maybe it was something else
That makes more sense
You ever seen brass keycaps lol
It was either the wire balancing or lube
Those would be so expensiv
It would require some heavy springs lol
Full brass case, brass plate, brass keycaps?
Comically heavy
Yess
