So i had some recommendations to rebalance my stabilizer wire to hopefully fix this spacebar being the volume of a gunshot, but when i took out the wire and layed it flat there was nothing wrong there was no ticking or anything i relubed the stabilizer ends and put it back together and sound is still absurdly loud. any other recommendations?

again this spacebar sounded like this right out of the box stock, Thought lubing the stabs manually by hand would help but it still sounds like its being played through an amplifier lol

yeah i have burger mounted and I also purchased spacebar foam thinking that would help but its too thick in my spacebar and doesnt let me press down the key the entire way. which makes pressing the space bar feel disgusting and no tactility

i even tried zipnfit in the space bar which is thinner than the keyboard foam and it still had the same issue of not being able to be pressed fully and the tactility was gone

so when i got the kb it was like uber lubed on the stabs from the factory like MASSIVE GLOBS so i initially just tried to do sound test out of the box and the spacebar was awful

then i was like alright ill hand lube it and it didnt help any

and then yesterday when yall told me to rebalance the wire i cleaned all the lube and relubed AGAIN

and its done nothing any of the times lol

One thing that improved my sound was going with a slightly bigger o-ring, these ones are a little bit thicker and don't squash through the PCB holes if you overtighten

It's difficult to tell what impact bigger o-rings will have, not all cases are the same and may not improve by much no matter the amount of modding done. At least changing o-rings is probably the cheapest mod to try.

Alright so i ordered the fl cmmk v3's but i do still have another issue with my spacebar that having new stabs wont fix i dont think. Everytime i press my spacebar it sounds like it bottoms out and possibly hits the plate causing for a loud pop when the key gets fully pressed down. anyone have a recommendation on solving that to atleast give me something to work on while i wait for new stabs

Your keycap should never hit the plate. If thats happening you have a bad keycap. Can you record some audio for us so that we can relate to what sound you're hearing? Describing it as "gunshot loud" is hard to understand.

Why did I say the redux lol smh. In tofu60 cases has 4 slicon feets and doesnt connect with desk, so the case is little bit higher which makes it more hollow and I tried without slicon feets it more thocky for tofu60

I mean it does say in the FAQ to do the mods one at a time so you can determine if you like the changes. Ive tried almost all of the mods and then some and in the end what I liked best was just a few of them. Some of them I hated, some made no difference, some made things sound or feel terrible.

just got a switch pack and noticed that they feel different, opened a couple to find lube inside, those that came with the keyboard seem dry (opened a couple off the keyboard itself)

basically all cables will work with tachyon mode, its just in combination with RGB on 100% that issues can arrise. You may need to turn it down to 70% or under depending on the cable to not get missinputs when using tachyon

The safe bet is always Cherry profile keycaps unless you need something that sits higher, or lower. Material wise ABS is smoother and PBT is slightly textured. Most colours will go with black but that's up to you.

I just too mine apart and the o-rings have held their shape. Any smaller and there's a high chance of the o-ring being squished and potentially falling through the PCB screw holes

just dampened my wooting one and am happy with it. smoother sound, more in the direction of "thocky" as it is possible with this cheap solution.
i used felt (sticky in the back for making furniture gliders and so on) in the housing and 3 layers of blue tape on the pcb. works fine, though in the first days the u key had some double press issues and the return key for a few hours. time solved this mostly, maybe some things just need to settle a bit. an additional layer of bubble wrap film under the pcb was too much and added no more improvements.

It's mostly about LENGTH and quality of work. Coiled cables add a good meter or so a lot of the time. So you're getting a deceptively long cable.

what are mods i should do to make my wooting 60he sounds a bit deeper, thockier, more smooth with the best sounding stablizers and the switches shouldnt be making those higher frequency sounds when release (without making the keyboard slower or completely break it)

You could check out the Wootstation channel and see our builds with some sound tests and see if there's one you like. Deep and thocky are hard to achieve due to the Lekker design, that high frequency pitch you're referring to is the spring ping. The bottom housing is open so the sound from the spring can escape and makes it sound 'springy'

For stabilizers, the stock themselves are good enough, just needs a relube, but if you want to change, popular choices are the Durocks or the recent FL CMMK V3s.

yea i was putting in my l45 switches today, took out sdwitch out and it was spamming it

Dunno what foam will result in the sound you like (maybe sorbothane). As said gotta experiment and find out. Same for plate material but if I’d had to guess a custom Pom plate would be the best bet to get it deeper
