3. after 25 more minutes on hold they’ve changed the plan but hadn’t activated it, call dropped again
4. spent 25 more minutes on hold, person was running diagnostics and call failed
5. found out that it’s my carrier hanging up the call after 30 minutes because for whatever fucking reason that’s the limit for toll free number calls
6. was blessed with an 8 minute hold time and the lady finally fixed my internet connection, told me it wasn’t working because of incorrect passport details

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max (solid board, would buy again)
all in a Pure Base 500 DX

PSU is a pretty solid seasonic semi modular 750 watt PSU, 80+ Gold rated

was a very solid PC for 2020
but somehow the GPU is the first to really start showing age

yeah bumping up past six cores would be nice, but the 8GB of VRAM is awful
that and I'm not into sketchy brazilian GPU mods

current build plan is a 7800X3D, cooled by a IS-67XT (whenever the fuck I can get one), in an Asrock B650E PG-ITX
32gb of Corsair Vengeance DDR5, speed to be determined at later date
5tb of M.2 SSD storage in the form of a 1TB boot drive, definitely PCI-E 4 and 4TB of 3 for a game drive
whatever the next gen AMD flagship is
and all that stuffed into a Raw S1 and powered by...what is probably going to be a corsair SF1000L

plan on building all of it late this year, slotting in my 3070 as a placeholder till the next gen flagship becomes available, then slotting that in to replace

Storage dosent compete with nuke

Storage assists things like nuke that can't scale instantly

Nuclear, wind, and solar can't instantly scale up or down without wasting loads of energy

Hydro can add power quickly depending on the design

So grid batteries don't have to be super efficient, just more efficient than spinning up small scale diesel

Think of your wind and solar are wasting power during the day because you're over generating

And then you have to scale up with diesel in the afternoon and night

Even a 60-80% efficient battery wins

Solar is so easy to scale up generation

But impossible to match load

Yeah

Lithium is hard to scale

Demand is so high it's hard to build grid size projects

Even if the carbon battery is 50% efficient
