Hi everyone, so I ripped off the sticker backside with the instructions from the back of the pcb of the 80he, not knowing that it was to dampen the click sound. Is there any way to get a replacement sticker backside or is there a mod that is similar to the sticker backside? Thanks in advance

we do suspect that techless video had something odd with the test too because the 80he shouldn't be that much slower than the 60he v2 in the test, which others pointed out too - there might be some bugs and inaccuracy in how a lot of these tests are being done

Hey all, I did a dumb and spilt liquid on the keyboard. I completely disconnected it, wiped it down and dried it as best I could while leaving it to rest outside for about a half hour. It came back pretty much perfect but my backspace key does feel a lot stickier and hard to press compared to last time.

Anyone got any ideas? I removed the switch to look it over, and it seems mostly okay.

I see people talking about stabaliser pads potentially becoming sticky. Do I have to go throug hthe full disassembly process due to this?

If you got your 80HE in the first or second batch last year, you'll need to remove the pads under the stabilizers. I'd also recommend relubing the stabilizers, especially since you spilled a drink on it, they're likely dry and without any lube now.

So, different switches make different colors, iguess it makes sense but spacebar dont have switches on the leds glowingup, so there will always be different from the rest of the keyboard RGB from some colors. Not so very visable, so its ok iguess.

Most “normal” switches travel 4mm from top to bottom out when you press them, but many after market switches for HE boards went to 3.5mm

You can still configure the actuation point to whatever you want, but physically the switch travel is different

Do yall know how to make my spacebar sound better? It sounds so harsh, not sure why. Did tape-mod, inside zinc alloy case and tikken switches. Its the double shot wooting keycaps and there is foam inside the spacebar pre-installed. Do I need to re-lube the stabilizers perhaps? Or get different ones?

hi again, so the followup on the sticky "alt" key, i have pulled it out, cleaned all around it, sprayed some canned air around the area

then i plug it back in, and i still have the issue

Remove the keycap from it and a known good key.

Compare the switches. Do they feel the same or is alt still sticky? Swap it

guys how do i pull out the switch it doesnt seem to want to move at all (i am trying with the puller that i got with the keyboard, i see there are 2 clips front and back and trying to press them in, it doesnt help

there's small ridges that grip under the white poly plate as well, so sometimes they can be bit stiff

there isn't super nice way to get them out with puller with those ones that are rather stiffly in there

other that just gently rocking up up and down without too hard movement and using bit force to pull. Though from experience this can result in bit of a breakage of those clips on the switch, but doesn't really prevent use of them. They are very stiffly in there still with everything.

That's my experience from changing switches few times on the whole keyboard

Some folks have easier time separating the plate and pushing the switches off from below, if you do the whole set, but removing couple it probably isn't very nice to go through all that :P. It is just because they are rather tight fit for the switches, which is nice but those small tolerances can live a bit with switches themselves and the plate so some are a bit more tight fit.

But once you get the feel for it, it's not too bad. You'll figure out how much force/movement you need to get the stiffer ones out

most of them come rather nicely

And yeah I actually have a metallic puller of my own

Forgot that most may use the plastic one, which may not be quite so good for having a solid hold and touch on it all

yeah the stabs were pretty broken and sounded similar to how yours sound right now , but i dont know for sure if its the same issue i only recognised the sound

you can always try to take it apart and check the wire between the stabs, try to make sure it's as straight as possible (against table / something level but do not for the love of everything start bending it with fingers) and then lube them bit more with slightly more viscosity. Dialectic grease is what is often used with the wire / what not, but stabs in general just tend to be a bit rattling unless you try to do mods / have special stabs that limit movement and mute the sound without affecting the movement and making it feel sticky.

mouses are far more cpu hungry though, in general anyway. Their constant movement is tracked and cpu usage can be seen to move massively if you do constant fast movements, but again, this should not really be an issue in general use as long as everything is up to date and functioning normally, and there isn't some strange setting active somewhere.

That kind stuff really sounds to me it's more serious conflict with drivers or something

If you have the background utility for 80he in use, I would test removing that first. Otherwise, you can use wootility to update/check the keyboard on a edge/chrome browser and don't need the app.

Outside that background utility for the bar and other effects, it shouldn't have anything that otherwise does something you need to be worried about

even wootility app is just for when you have it active and are editing profile stuff, it's not like it's otherwise doing much
