just watched the video and the 80he sound amazing afterwards :D gonna try all those tricks out next year :)
guys I never bought a keyboard I had to assemble myself
I wanna get the 80HE with the lekker tikken switches
is it really that easy? I am clumsy af and scared to sth wrong lmao
Insanely easy actually, you just press them down until they click in their place, unironically very close to LEGO levels of difficulty
maybe I am just overthinking it a lil
but really wanted the new switches if I go for the 80HE over the latest one
New switches are definitely worth it 🙂
And it's relatively easy to remove the switches so no worries! Alternative is to buy the module instead, then you just need to insert them - even easier!
(and buy a case and keycaps of course)
I would have done that too, sadly i got mine a few months before Tikken.
But on the other hand i have other switches now, which i'm even more satisfied with.
I never modded or assembled myself
just got out of the box stuff
going for the 80HE module with zinc case and the newer switches
since I do other stuff and play other games than shooters I could not just got for the 60HE v2 sadly
Don't forget keycaps if you go that route
just these right? I dunno what the actual diff between PBT and ABS is
but I read sth about durability
Yes and make sure you match keycaps (ANSI or ISO) to the module you're getting 🙂
Guys if buy the 80he modular, do I need any tools?
Me neither when it comes to keyboards, but it's not difficult, and they have a video guide. Literally nothing can go wrong because they show you what to do.
Nothing more than a PH1 screwdriver 🙂
This tutorial shows you how to assemble your Wooting 80HE module in one of our compatible cases.

Hey i got my keyboard today and if slightly tap the side or touch a key it turns off and on again
Likely the JST cable that's not fully inserted
Sometimes, you may need to fully disassemble your keyboard, whether it's to swap out stabilizers or replace components due to a defect. In this video, we'll guide you through the process.

Follow these instructions to get to the JST cable (timestamped) and make sure it's plugged in nicely 🙂
A cable inside the keyboard? Fr, ive payed 200 for this, i dont wanna break this shi
Im sorry for cursing but it goes back to normal and then does it again a few minutes later
just do it slowly and wootings video gives you a step by step guide
it wont break so easily, just do it patiently. its really not hard, just push the cable aibt tighter
Well it did
Did what the video told me, and the power connector fell off
What do i do now they wont go in
I pulled it ever so slightly from side to side
most likely it looks like a faulty cable. You need to get a new one, fixing it will be much complicated
usualy it doesnt break so easily, so i think its already like damaged thats why your keyboard gets disconnected easily
Haven't seen that happen to anyone yet. Real bad luck, reach out to support and they'll sort you out.
yeap, i just finsihed modded my wooting80 and i've connect and disconnect the cable more than 5 times
might be even more than that
Lmao this sequence of events is crazy 😂😂. “It wont break so easily” -> “well it did” honestly its just a PITA but it should be a simple replacement for warranty to cover.
did you pull on the connecter or the cable
if you pulled on the cable then... idk what to tell you
That's why I never pull on cables and use my fingernails or precision pliers to pull out the plugs.
looks great
cant wait to see the case altogether
Gimme 20, color filling now.
silber better
Is there an idiot's guide to changing your wooting 80he case?
If someone say... bought the goofy zinc case 👁️
Whatever the mf on the video someone sent me did
Can I rebind a key to alt gr?
does the more data mean I can use 8k polling with rgb at the same time now
I think thats not possible I Hope that was something we could do 😭
gg
tachyon and rgb is still not possible
hi guys, has anyone installed the split space button?
What's the real question you're trying to ask here? 😄
ive just assembled my 80he. but when trying to place 3 space buttons instead of 1, i was having issues. it seems there is no way to place 3 buttons instead of 1. they just not correct sizes
because the 80he doesnt have a split spacebar?
i was able to pick that option when choosing buttons, so i assumed its possible. no problem, thanks for reply
you mean keycaps?
can't the gasket mount on the 80he theoretically mess with the hall effect sensors because the board flexes?
the distance between the switch and PCBA stays the same because of the standoffs, so no.
the module can flex in the case as much but that doesn’t affect anything
gasket in HE is is designed different to traditional mechanical keyboard gasket basically
it's more for isolation and not so much about the bouncy bouncy gasket in mx
hi guys. I got a 80he in ISO and got an keycap set in ANSI. is it possible to switch the keyboard from iso to ansi ? moving switches arround and software wise ?
Not quite. They are physically different.
You can Frankenstein something but it'll never be perfect.
thank's for the swift reply ! ❤️
If you got our Wooting PBT keycaps in ANSI-US that does also include the keys for ISO-UK
one more unrelated question, while switching from a 1hz polling profile to a 8hz profile with a macro and wootility not running, the keyboard did not switch it's polling mode for me. does it now work with the wootility background service ? or do I have to have wootility running for it to switch polling with a macro ?
guys my module doesn't turn on when in case, i was told by support the cable is meant to be bent slightly but still the module only works when the jct cable is straight. At first i thought it was the cable, but support send me a new one and its still not working.this sucks
what can i genually be doing wrong, i have be try to get it work for 1 and a half hours now, all i want is for it to work after waiting nearly 2 month lol
Make a thread in #1019755933959733258 or respond back to your ongoing support ticket.
i did respond back, i have been waiting close to an hour
Yes? We do not make any promises of immediate responses. It could be a day or till Monday.
I understand, i just read that someone who waited 6 days got a faster response on discord, so i thought i would try it out too
We don't provide customer support here officially. Though some community members may be able to help - If you make a thread in #1019755933959733258
right ok
my 80he order status finally went from "ready to pack" to "pick and pack"
I wonder how long until it actually gets shipped
hi are there any mods which are highly recommended or is it good enough stock?
Getting better switches if you're on lekker v2. Tikkens or DCF are top choices
ahh ok i see ty
why are these errors popping up when i try to assign switches to geon raw he?
replug the keyboard
i did
Same problem for me since the new update, i cant change any settings and save my profile
Doesnt work for me
Have you ever looked at the logs?
Settings > Background Service > Troubleshoot (at the bottom)
So I can't find anything special right now.
I had no problems before since the new update
Maybe i could change to the beta build
I still have a main.log. But I use Linux. It's under /home/user/.config/wootility/logs/.
No idea where it is under Windows.
[error] Received response with unexpected command ID. Expected: 74, got 65. Something like that happens quite often.
But someone from Wooting would have to look at that.
Or at least someone who knows more about it than me
You should ask in community_support,
Sure thanks for your help so far
this one is expected mostly
it occurs because both background service and wootility communicate with the keyboard at the same time. It's fine.
Now the actual errors, we haven't quite pinned down yet.
some users have had luck by replugging the keyboards USB port, or even plugging it into another port on the computer
Ah ok
it's also possible that it's some program that's running that causes these issues
I have 3 80HEs and I couldn't get that error in any of them :(
I want to get the error so I can try and fix it, but I haven't been able to so far
Hmm. I've also received this message a few times. But apart from the recent problem with Discord, i haven't had any other issues with my 80HE.
After changing the usb port for my wooting on my pc its works again without any problems
can i make it so i have a non static effect, and override certain keys, like modifiers/wasd so they are a different, static color?
anyone know the best actuation points for fivem
Why is there such a big offset from the top plate to the left? Can I fix it somehow
Anyone word on these knobs expected in Q1 2026?
big knob still q1 small might be delayed
what knobs?
The silver goes hard
What keycaps are those?! Looks great!
idk if these are exact or clones of a more popular set
Is it worth waiting for a future 80he version? like a "80he v2" or there is no version like this planned
Not really much that can be changed at this stage it only came out ~1 year ago the 60hev2 was basically an update to get the 60HE on the same level as the 80HE already was
wow thank you for the info ! very thankss
I already did the roll with the video, but I can't see myself anywhere. Can you explain?
GRAPHT Designer Keycaps (158 keys) – GRAPHT OFFICIAL STORE https://share.google/XpwVfc6wXuF4jKM70
???
O_o
Helo, i received my 80HE module since 2 days and the part when you have to connect this cable is so stressful, the cable bend not very well and it is hard to know if the cable is well connected until you plug it.
Hopefully after a good 10 min of try gentle it work, but pfiou, stressful
For me i saw that two cables were loose when i wiggled it like the guy in the video did more fell off, ups guy probably tossed my shitcor something lol
Im getting the cable replaced by wooting, should come in a week but dam, ive been waiting for this keyboard for a min now
can anyone help me my wooting says that it is disconnected even though i plugged it in and only "e" and "r" is lit up red and i cannot type
Try another USB-Port
I tried resetting computer, different port, different cable
when i use other keyboard it works so I tried updating wooting app but now it's saying "keyboard is currently disconnected." even when it is pluggd in
Try resetting your keyboard. (Wootility -> Help)
try this
Hey does anyone know if the 80HE comes with sound dampening material already installed inside of it
try looking at 80he product page, it should has an exploded view of the keyboard prebuilt.
Ok forgive me I don't know much about keyboards tbh but is there any way to like remove one of these layers to get a more clickly feel when typing
no thats not how it works
the “clicky” feeling is from a tactical switch which you have to buy
i think as of right now only gateron has a tactile he switch
raeds, but that one is silent.
Does the 80he support clip in stabs
Sure? Not sure why you'd downgrade though.
K thanks
Reading yall talking about keyboards is like reading a made up language
Like wtf does anything even mean
Wtf is slip in stabs
Clip in. As in - The stabilizer housing clips onto the switch plate (oldschool approach), whereas on the 80HE and 60HEv2 (and 60HE Module), we use screw in stabilizers, that screw into the PCB itself.
Is it ok for individual lekker switches to be submerged in water seeing as how they dont have any electrical components
No.
You'll get water stuck inside, mixing with the lube and ruining the switch.
Something spilled on my 80he 😭
i mean its technically ok if you dry them off well inside and out and remove all the lube/water mixture while drying
your worry should be the pcb then not the switches
Just tested every key it works but the switches smell weird now
Worried its going to rot
its not about immediate damage either
its the fact liquid left uncleaned will cause corrosion
which usually kills a device later on
(our PCBs are coated for water resistance not immunity)
It is a LOT easier to just outright replace any bad switches.
The alternative is opening them all up, soaking them in soap and scrubbing, drying and relubing every single one.
A good excuse to get new switches tbh
The fact that the sandwich plate is porous is not helping either
How would i clean the dried up residue
What about my switches now smelling like coffee and cheese
the same youd clean them with isopropyl after disassembling them
also given you spilled coffee its even more important to clean the pcb
cause coffee is quite acidic
will the magnetic wave keycap set eventually come to wooting 80he?
No plans at this point.
there isnt many options for keycaps? are there any other places i can buy them for the 80he thats fits it?
We don't sell any fancy ones like that for the 80HE. But you can grab basically any set anywhere else.
any set anywhere else? wdym
There's a thousand companies out there making keycaps. 🙂
yes, but are all 80% keyboards exactly the same size or am i just a lil dumb, i assumed there just the same amount of keys each not literal size, if so does this apply to switches as well
(plz be patient with me im new to this)
Basically any tkl keycap set would work for 80he as it's not actually 80%
we specifically designed the 80he so TKL/Fullsize sets work as long as you keep in mind the ANSI/ISO stuff.
so no special keycaps needed its all the standard stuff with MX stems
this really goes for all our keyboards
is there a specific place i can look at all this stuff as i dont like to rely on ai?
because i have no idea wtf u js said
i just found cleaning my kyb fun by pulling it apart so i thought jus doing smth with it was good
thanks
also you can ask over in #🔧│keyboard_modding if you are looking for something more specific
just be aware that the more specific it gets or if its not "mainstream" the keycaps can skyrocket in price to hundreds of dollars
for keycaps?
thats crazy i thought it wud be like 20-50 bucks
well its really fun so why not ig
depends like i said
the "normal" and more "mainstream" sets can easily be quite cheap (as you can also see on our store) but if you want some specific stuff it can skyrocket. same with cases for keyboards (although thats more a 60% keyboard thing)
like a fully decked out and modded to bits custom 60% keyboard can easily be 4digits in cost
whats a store you would suggest buying from?
what is the best sensitivity for rapid trigger?
No best setting, play around with them and see what you like 🙂
i mean if your using rapid trigger in a rythm game like me (gd) i just have it on lowest everything
what is rythm game
like
osu, geomertry dash, that sort of thing, timing
if your playing like cs2 or smth like that then yes play around with it, but remember theres multiple modes so you can have one for each game
btw is webmenu better or should i install app
im sorry idk what that is, im also not a mod so im just speaking my opinion
It's the same, the app is just a downloadable version of the webapp
On my case, having 0.1 on everything in GD is pretty bad
I have a lot of miss inputs and didnt worked fine or I just need to get used to it
But isnt a real Change from 0.1 to 0.4 right?
might need a faster board, something like a rakka
After the recent update my keyboard is doing crazy weird, whgile clicking a button such as W during gaming it randomly jumps into using spacebar, is more sensitive, and it auto types a spam of letters, such as lllllllllllll in a second while I single press the letter L. Idk if it's coming from my pc, but haven't touched a bit. Anyone has this issue too?
No issues thus far, if it's the latest stable release in wootility. No tachyon mode in my end as reference.
hello
i mean i assumed i would get used to it and its theroetically the best
Yeah maybe
i mean my hardest in like 3 weeks of playing the game after returning from a year ago which my previous hardest was acu, is poltergeist
id say thats really good progress
1-Someone else here play BAR (Beyond All Reason) ?
I am curious of other settings with this game.
2-Also, can i set "azerty" layout on wootility ? Because it is effective azerty but layout showed in webapp is qwerty, confusing
wootility reads your os keyboard language and uses that
Keyboards don't have languages, just raw keys like "key23". You'll have to change to a French language for your keyboard in Windows. 🙂
Changing the keyboard layout of your keyboard on a Windows based machine is pretty simple, this guide will help you install and help you switch between them. In
Hello, my 80 HE has just arrived. I only have one problem. As soon as I create my own profile, some of the buttons don't work. How can I solve this problem?
I can't remove the standard profiles, otherwise some keys won't work...
what keys do not work
Hello, I just want to know if this fixable and if yes how? My 80 HE’s letter “Z” RGB is off but when it’s red it’s perfectly fine but when I set it to other colors the color is off. For example blue is yellowish
Remove button and confirmation button
can you post a screenshot of your wootility
show me quick settings pls
Sounds like the red LED might be dead. You'll have to contact customer support.
When I set it to inactive, many keys stop working again.
I checked, i have good keyboard in windows settings but still qwerty on webapp :/
Pick the category and issue you need help with, and we'll guide you through the process.
Use the downloadable app to compare.
Your browser might be blocking access to read system keyboard.
theres no z key
Thanks, that must have been it!
yeah this can happen when you import a profile from 60he
Oooh, this is it, app work with azerty showed !!
Ty !
My browser maybe block keyboard access indeed, i use "brave"
Yup. Gotta disable privacy shield while on the Wootility website.
you're basically asking others for your favorite color
I personally don't even use rapid trigger for osu so off is also a preference
U barely ever type ”zebra” anyways
That’s a brazen assumption
The letter z gets used in Dutch quite a bit
is there still no updates on the knobs?
not gonna be ready for Q1
thats all for now
MAN
WOMAN
Animal
THEY/THEM

I thought the 4u knob might still make Q1?
No.
Cruel
my typing is bugging out sincce the new update
it randomly duplicates some letters while typing
sometimes up to llllike 20 extra letters
anyone know how to fix
i just got my 80he and the enter, backspace, slash and right shift buttons all don’t work. anybody know what could be causing this?
Replug the keyboard
already did that
Check if sticky keys and filter keys are disabled in Windows settings
No
in the wootility visual feedback the keys show as registering but they don’t work anywhere else
Share your profile code please
it fixed itself as i replugged
if it happens again ill send my profile code
Shouldn't happen anymore. Just a messed up calibration caused double inputs probably.
guys im trying to mod my 80he to sound more thocky i got stab and switch lube/grease any recommendations?
new update got my keyboard bugging out
spamming inputs and making me boot into boot menu and then spamming inputs in the OS
wont stop until unplugged and replugged
happens on every boot
what switches are you using
lekker 60 v2
im planning on buying some new ones
you cant get thocky sounding on he keyboards but i recommend buying new switches
which would you recommend
this dog knows things
deep clack fluxes or tikkens are a solid choice
tikkens (from wooting website) deep clack fluxes (aliexpress)
depends on what sound profile you want
He cross posted, was already helped in modding 😭
shiiiiiiiiiiiiii
tikkens 100%
ty king
tryna get more opinions
srry if its bad behavior im not on discord very much
at the end of the day you have to choose a preference
can anyone recommend some good keycaps?
youre customizing your keyboard to your needs
wooting keycaps are a solid choice for the price. If you want to spend $100+ theres better quality out there
just got my 2nd white zinc 80he as my first one was warped and wobbling on 3 flat surfaces and now (on the 2nd) unfortuantely my spacebar and right alt gets stuck on and caught on the case when pushing down due to the case not being straight
do all zinc cases have some kind of issues or am i being too picky? for a £290 keyboard Im expecting something perfect
are you saying the 2nd case is having the same issue?
i'm not sure what you mean by the spacebar and right alt gets stuck
do you have a video?
2nd on the space and alt are getting caught down the travel due to hitting the front inside
that shouldn't happen, i don't think i've seen that before in the discord
that should show it well, you cna clearly see the differences between the keys and the case
they are rubbing against the case (alt and spacebar)
That's upto Firefox, not Wooting :) They have to add WebHID support.
that should not happen, is this case pre assembled? I feel something might be wrong in the assembly here
if that's happened twice thats some monumentally bad luck
i've never actually seen that before at all, not in discord nor in the 5+ white zincs i've gone through at this stage
open a support ticket and include video of the issue happening and they should take care of you
am emailing the support through right now 👍
the switches are pushed in fully right? just making sure it's not the switches came out loose or something in shipping
switches and caps fully in and on
can see from here that the spacebar is touching on the right side vs good distance on left
showing the bowing of the front
looks like warped keycaps?
caps are fine, they fit perfectly on my first 80he before it got replaced
can see the bottom of the case is warped vs flat surface
in the middle
oof
Looks like it isn't properly in place in the center. Might want to unscrew the two halves and inspect further.
I bought a pre assembled for the reason to not have to mess with it and accidently break something myself
Well... it's finding a PH1 screwdriver to confirm, or contacting customer support and be asked to try the same 😄
i wonder if it got bumped in shipping and it isn't hooked in quite right maybe
quite possibly, although it did come in the case so im not sure how :((
nah had same issue and they took mine back
it does look pretty bend tho, no? man unlucky shipping rng if thats the case
Gotta go through troubleshooting to find the issue, before we can do anything there.
it appears that quality control has not been the best recently, I have seen lots of people saying QC of 80HE has been lackluster since 60HE V2 campaign started
im sorry but no one should be expected to repair a 23cm warp on a 34.5cm case at home when they paid $300 for the product
actually qc has improved in a lot of areas. The thing with discord though is you see specific issues come up because it's how discord works
No one's being asked to do that though, Sian.
people don't come to discord to chat for fun all the time, a lot of the time it's because they have an issue
you just said we have to go through troubleshooting
?
?
Yes - To figure out what the problem is. So we know what needs replacing if anything. Or if it's just a quick adjustment with a screwdriver. That is not "repairing a warp"
so sometimes you get the perception that a ton of things are going wrong because discord aggregates all of those cases together - but it's still a very low percentage
classic survivorship bias or whichever one it is
He's has had two orders within the last month, and both keyboards have been bent
a sample size of one is not how statistics work
yeah it sucks and none of us want to see that happen to people too, but one person having it happen doesn't mean it's a pandemic of an issue
the first keyboard arrived with scratches and wasnt level, tilting from side to side when weight was put on either side - the replacement for the first is insanely warped...
for example, let's say we sell 100k keyboards (this is a random number, not our exact sales ofc)
thats pretty unfortunate odds
now let's say it has an issue rate of 0.3%
Brother we do not need a lesson in statistics, just a working keyboard for the customer
that 0.3% of 100k still seems like a lot if a ton of that 0.3% come to discord
Sure - And to achieve that, they'll have to reach out to customer support. Or follow the suggested troubleshooting steps we've provided here further up. 🙂
and what would be the chances of a customer being in that 0.3% twice in two weeks
what mansen is trying to explain is that he's trying to help him go through the checking process to save time for support later. This customer you're referring to is going to be covered under warranty regardless
But I ordered one months back, and it was bent, and i got sent a new one without being asked to do anything
so....?
it's very unlikely but possible actually
considering the large number of keyboards we sell
yes and he'd get the same treatment, but maybe he might want to check if it's a quick fix that can save him the hassle?
mansen isn't saying he won't get the help if he refuses to do it
he's just giving him an additional thing that can save some time potentially
300£ should get you a keyboard that isnt bent because its been screwed in too tightly
thats my opinion though
yep and i'm sure we'd all agree we'd love for wootings flaw rate to be 0% too
and if you recieve 2x keyboards that are both bent, you should get more than being told to get out a screwdriver and hopefully fix the issue urself
and i dont know how shipping can warp over 3/4 of the case
he is... it's why we already told him to make a ticket so he can get assistance
i'm not sure where the confusion is here
its a manufacturer issue, they even have it on their website
Ultimately? Yes. But at the end of the day all products ever made and sold will have a defective failure, meaning it either has issues from the factory, or will develop ones later.
Most consumer electronics have about a 7-11% defect rate on products sold.
he's still getting it covered under warranty. Again - mansen is not saying he's not covered, he's giving him extra options to see if it's a quick fix to his issue in the meantime
That's for a plastic case. As your highlight mentions. 🙂
no one here is saying he's not covered under full warranty
I don't even have a screwdriver
Yeah - Again. If this is a simple case of an improperly assembled top piece, a quick screwdriver could fix it, saving you needing to wait for warranty support.
i'm not sure what that statement has to do with the guy earlier having an issue
true and this case is Zinc alloy, so its a CNC issue no?
your having a screwdriver doesn't affect his issue
he should contact support where they'll probably ask some questions and replace it when confirmed
so there's no known quick fixes for the zinc one?
which is literally what i told him already and that he's already doing
what?
is there a fix for his issue apart from returning it, again
he can still check to see if it got bumped and it's sitting unaligned or something weird
I am just curious because I was going to buy zinc one too
yes, he can have a peek to see if he has a screw driver handy
do we know the success rate on the warped zinc cases?
to give you an example
we would consider anything approaching 1% high
this is no where near that and if it was a 1% type issue it would be alarm bells ringing internally and I'd be too busy trying to help sander with writing or editing a video right now
instead of typing here
I also feel really bad because It was actually me who told him about the wooting keyboards, and I told him how great mine was, especially the web interface, now he's ordered two and both have had issues
and he's fully covered. We're sorry it happened but it's unfortunate and these things can happen sometimes
Like I'm dead serious
this is kind of why you shouldn't overly worry about discord threads with issues, especially when people come to discord for help with issues quite often
things that are basically 0.1% failure level issues can quickly seem like "OMG this is the 3rd case i've seen of this problem happening! this must be serious"
But it's happened to him twice
yes, and that sucks and we're sorry it happened
its not something he read online, he's recieved 2 faulty products
yep.
When that happens you need to do more than just be sorry and send a new one, do you not think?
i'm confused, are you thinking this is not what we're doing?
Well no because you just basically said get a screwdriver out
it is something i have read online which is why i brought it up but that is only because then it happened to him
I just feel responsible because I told him to buy Wooting
no...
but he's still fully covered under warranty for a replacement if he doesn't want to
are you understanding now?
Mansen implied that support would tell him to unscrew it either way
it looks poor on you guys is all
we're giving him an option where he can see if maybe it's a minor thing he can check
If you're saying that you're going to give some kind of compensation, then yes we're on the same page
we dont want beef but it just looks bad from how it was worded
your initial reply was spot on
Yes - I would indeed assume that our technical support team would ask the customer to do basic troubleshooting with their guidance, to find the cause of the issue, and what needs to be replaced exactly.
This is industry standard for any product.
alright whelp now you're just clearly tagging your friend group to make this a conversation that isn't productive and I'm not even support staff just trying to help you
this was just silly
The conversation is about how he's received 2 faulty products within 1 month,
I joined because I couldn't believe he was being told to get a screwdriver out to try fix the issue
You don't just keep sending customers faulty products until they finally get one that isn't warped or broken.
Keep in mind this is a community server, if you want a proper response from support it's through the official support channels these are staff members going out of their way on their personal time to see if they can help on this situation
how is getting a screwdriver to check out the issue, not completely normal?
Because normally you pay for things that are working and good quality.
and if not you send it back and get a new one, then that new one is meant to work.
And I think it would save both Wooting and the person in question time if they could open it up and see if it's a simple fix that would be the best solution for everyone I'm sure if you're not comfortable doing that support would offer another solution
Once, sure
Twice, no
what if its then 3 times?
That is valid but I really think as moderators you should perhaps re-read through the chat. Here Mansen says "Looks like it isn't properly in place in the center." which it is. You can clearly see that the PCB lines up perfectly for the blown-out parts of the case (The F keys / utility keys / arrow keys) so even though the bottom appears out of place, if he were to move this to line up the warped bottom, the rest would be off instead. Then can you promise there would not be any liability for messing with it? A prebuilt keyboard should be plug-in and play. It's honestly that simple.
You don't know if the top piece is properly hooked to the bottom of the case. That's literally the thing I suggested you could check by screwing it apart.
Because not everyone wants to build keyboards? and something costing 300 shouldn't need repairs within minutes of opening?
hey folks, i know you think that 'let's all join the server and get our whole friend group tag teaming the same conversation' is a good idea, but it's really not and nothing productive will come of this sort of method
no shit it shouldnt need repairs, but tough luck shit happens
it just means no one can reply or help you because you keep shouting the same thing at people from different people in your friend group
tough luck shit shouldnt happen to expensive products?
We aren't saying the same thing, and you can still reply and help.
Even a Ferrari can have factory defects that need to be fixed at a garage. That's what warranty exists for 🙂
I hate it when i get two bent ferrari's in a row
and they ask me to get out my repair tools
pick one person to talk because both of you guys coming in aggressive and repeating points trying to force a reply you want gets nowhere
all it'll do is get regulars in here annoyed that you're essentially brigading a discord topic with your friend group
The reply is wait for official support if you're not comfortable following these unofficial support suggestions that could fix the issue more quickly
It's unfortunate this happened twice seems you got unlucky, but it's not like Wooting is leaving you in the dark they will make it right
Yeah I hope making it right isn't just shipping ANOTHER keyboard
is my point, thanks guys
But this replacement was supposed to be them making it right
what are they supposed to do? call a code red and wake up the entire company?
No one is saying that lmao
Discount, air freshener, something like that, and a working keyboard
trying to brigade a discord with your friend group to demand extra compensation isn't how these things work
you're talking to people who are not even working here on company time
That's typically how you make it right after sending multiple faulty products to a customer
if not, how else?
It's not even about a friendship group
I'm literally the only one that has mentioned that
Lewis recommended it, I bought it as a gift for Sloper - we are all relevant here and we are entitled to discuss this?
maybe your points wouldn't be so mixed up if it wasn't obviously you and your friends coming in here to steamroll a topic with people just trying to help out
Literally it was only one of us in here, then you guys was trying to get him to screwdriver it
couldn't believe what i was hearing so i joined
what you said was fine, Sno - it should have been convo over here
i really think you are misunderstanding the whole screwdriver thing
What did I walk in to?
i really think you are missing the point
if you pay for a product, you expect the product to function and be brand new
An 80HE zinc case isn't correct, is that what's happening?
lmao
if the product fails to function straight out of the box, you don't tell the customer to fix it themselves
thats not what they are saying lol
especially when that product is 6 times the price of 'budget' keyboards that have never arrived with any of these issues
read the chat
ok bro
Customers expect a working product out of the box, that's absolutely fair
@nocturne night chill my dude, let me see if I can get this sorted 🙂
sorry, didnt mean to come across mean o7
Yeah, like this wasn't mean
sorry, no i didnt mean any disrespect
Am I correct that it's @shrewd fern's product?
@void fulcrum's product but bought by myself
Gotcha
I reccomended it to them
And I read somewhere this happened already; support sent a replacement, and the same thing is happening?
I have been in contact with the lovely support team over email, I think Sloper was just panicking a lil cause he was really excited about this and it was a gift which ultimately has been met with disappointment twice now unfortunately
We understand that these things happen and that maybe we are mad unlucky
But yeah two 80HE's with two different issues
1st issue was case was warped and didnt sit flat on 3x flat surfaces, 2nd issue is the front of the case isnt straight and pushing against the spacebar and right alt making the clip/touch on the press down @nova nexus Both have essentially been warped at some point
Yes, the first keyboard had some surface scratches and tarnishes, as well as an issue with tilting from side to side like it wasn't level? We tried different surfaces and the different feet that come with the keyboard
And they're preassembled keyboards, right?
correct, pre assembled without keycaps
UK ISO layout so they dont come fully pre assembled
Gotcha, and now what you're experiencing is that when you've installed the keycaps, several keys on the bottom row catch
correct
have pictures of everything to show which are in the support email at the minute
That's not supposed to happen, for sure
placing the keyboard on its front you can clearly see its bowing against the flat surface unfortunately
Let's focus on just the keyboard at hand. One of four things is happening:
- The zinc case is defective (doesn't mean the specification for the expected clearance)
- The keycaps are defective (sticking out more than they should, doesn't meet spec)
- The switches aren't seated correctly, resulting in the keycaps being at an angle
- The case isn't assembled correctly
just to note, the keycaps fit perfectly on the first zinc 80he, support asked me to keep them for the 2nd one so we can rule out they are defective imo
That's helpful
i did also push the switches (+ keycaps) in as much as possible so they were seated correctly so I personally think that can be ruled out, although im not an expert
What happens if you push down really hard on the keycaps? This could .... you just answered that
pushing harder on them forces them into the front inside of the case
You can use significant force to be damn sure, but it woudn't require extreme force
making them catch and get stuck at the bottom of the travel on occasion
Based on what you've said, it does sound like something is up with the case
If it's an assembly problem, the way to check this would be to disassemble the case and reassemble it
This is obviously not something you should have to do, but it's something you can do with the hope of ending up with a fully working product when you're done
understood, unfortunately I don't have the tools for the job nor am I confident enough to do it without causing damage
and this is the main reason for buying a pre built
Well you've documented that there is a problem of some kind, so any problems that could occur while affecting customer self repair through direction from Wooting, is covered by warranty
That said, we designed the case in a way that taking it apart and putting it back together is quite straightforward
If i bust up the head on the screw using the wrong screwdriver then I think im doomed bro
With the 60HEv2 it doesn't even have any screws, it's literally: pull off one keycap, then use the module puller to take the case out
Nah no way, we're asking you to attempt this, we're not going to punish you for it
im happy to return and give wooting another chance, even though it is costing me every time to get a label printed off as I don't own a printer
3rd time's a charm
If you don't want to disassemble and reassemble, that's okay, you can do an RMA, the only thing it will cost you is indeed time
And he has to pay to get the return label & invoice
Like to get it printed
which places charge a joke for.
No, if there's any kind of warranty case, even if "unproven" through not having been investigated more thoroughly, we cover the return shipment
Oh yea printing the label itself isn't covered...
Any friends, family, coworker with a printer?
Slowly adds up in price when you have to keep sending the keyboards back
Yea, but there's not really any way around that
unfortunately not, my dad has a printer but he is 185 miles away so not worth the time or petrol
School print lab or library is sometime an option
i do to a local stationary shop, they charge £2.50 per print xd
I'm sorry that you have to go through this, it's definitely not the experience we want customers to have
Damn thats highway robbery lol
I appreciate that and I do hope the next one is as it should be
and the petrol to get there, he has a big litre engine car so it drinks it..
as ive heard great things and its the only kb I want if im honest
He heard those great things from me, and now I feel like its my fault.
Nah don't feel like that
He was looking at other brands, and I kept saying "no no, get wooting, its the best" now he's had 2 broken keyboards
Reality is that in manufacturing, shit happens.
From your perspective, it sucks because you have to deal with it.
From our perspective, it's a guaranteed inevitability that someone, somewhere, will experience "shit happens"
From both perspectives, what matters is how it gets handled
How do you handle the situation once the customer has recieved 2x faulty keyboards, and has had to spend time and money to return them both?
Or is it typically just send another one and hope that one works?
Sorry if that comes across in a bad way, genuinely asking
Because its not exactly a cheap product, and it really shouldnt be showing up broken multiple times, but yeah I get that it does happen
Our primary focus is on the end result: either getting the customer a working product, or if they don't have the trust or patience to see that through, their money back.
The secondary focus is on making right the experience
That gets considered with respect to the severity of the situation, what has been asked of the customer, the effort required and provided
Yo guys after 2 months of waiting I fixed the cable issue
now my stupid keyboard turns off when I click keys
We have a standing ethos that if the customer goes through the effort, is communicative, and respectful, that we'll go out of our way to ensure they're happy
thanks mark, i appreciate your help
does email support work on saturdays? if so I will get it shipped back tomorrow
Well I hope something can be done to make it right and fair, as I don't personally think having to send a product back twice then finally getting a working one is a good experience for the customer even if the end result is a working keyboard, especially for a premium product. but from what you've said I'm hopeful it will be put right and all will be happy
Because its time and effort, paying for the printing of return label, waiting for the new product to arrive, goes on.
Support does not work on Saturdays/Sundays, no
I hear you, and I agree with you. Doubly so as the holidays come up, and people have been so looking forward to getting the opportunity to game with their new keyboard
Yeah, Me and @void fulcrum Play Pubg a lot, and on his current keyboard (Non Wooting) his crouch is broken, so he can't crouch at all - and that sucks an awful lot in PUBG.
so arrival of his wooting has been great but then quickly dissapointing once the issues were discovered
enough of the stories though, I'm sure it can be put right, thanks a lot Mark hope you have a great Christmas 😄
understood, monday it is then 👍
Make sure you reply to a previous email chain you've had with support, this way your request doesn't have to wait to get picked up
will make sure of this, thank you
If you don't get a response on Monday, send me a DM
With all the 60HEv2s getting delivered, it's going to be a busy busy time for the support team
appreciate that, ill let you know if I dont hear back from the team by end of day monday
thanks again
Any ideas how to fix this, it just goes like that infinitely when I click keys
Happy to help
JST cable is likely loose
Oh dont you worry, I spent 2 hours make sure that thing is perfect
I will send pick tho if am wrong lol
How's it connected? Are you using USB-A dongle?
USB c
Try plugging it in with a dongle in USB-A port
Are you sure both ends of the internal cable are properly plugged in the connectors?
With out taking it all apart, the cable going into the mother board litterly looks perfect no exaggeration, but I will take it apart and tell you just in case.
Double check if it's properly plugged into the daughterboard
Holy shit, it was the stupid cable, I was about the crash out if it was the module that was messed up too. This stupid cable genuinely be the worst experience I have had with a cable lol
Works fine now?
Doing the final checks
you'll be happy to know they are working on improving that cable interaction for any future keyboards that require a daughterboard
Thats great, but I really hope this keyboard lasts 🙏
def, some people are using their first keeb still. And you can still enjoy latest wootility with it.
anyone know what could be wrong with my keyboard rn im having to use my laptop cause i physically cant type properly on my wooting like most the time i cant use some of the keys on my keyboard or it will continously type letters even if im not touching it
Uhhh..dumb question..my new 60HEv2 Optimum case has the silicone pad…5 screws..two screw holes are covered from the silicone..wth do I do? Pierce it??
No please don’t pierce it
You don't need any of that. Just put the v2 module in the case
You don’t need any screws at all
oh okay bet..it just has screw holes and stuff so I was tearing my hair out since two are covered and 3 are open
yo anyone know how i can fix my spacebar from being sticky/ getting stuck?
When did you get your 80HE?
had the same issue earlier, just pulled out the usb and replugged
I wish the same worked for me but it isnt sadly
Bless up on that - I have long (fake) nails and seating that cable was so obnoxious
i see
i switched to firefox cuz i cant stand these ads anymore
Brave
My main browser is firefox too. I use edge or such for quick use of wootility and other. No big issues here. I also did have previous machine where the connection with current usb cable worked worse but newer motherboard and most ports being at minimum usb 3 based, all works fine and dandy.
if you dont care about your profiles go into settings, reset your keyboard and then replug it
#🕒│waiting_room ? 😄
Finally
woot woot
Is there anyway to get a iso-pt layout on a wooting 80he?
Are you asking about physical layout and keycaps or how it shows up in your operating system?
We sell ISO keyboards, but don't have ISO-PT keycaps so you would need to find a set elsewhere
Physical layout and keycaps
I mean its pretty similar to iso-es but 3-4 keys are diferent
I don't really know where one would find ISO-PT keycaps, but if you can't find any locally you could try looking through these vendors
https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/
Custom Portuguese Keyboard Keycaps – ISO-PT, QWERTY Layout Personalise your mechanical keyboard with our custom Portuguese keycaps, designed for the ISO-PT layout and classic QWERTY configuration. These keycaps feature Portuguese-specific characters such as ç, á, é, í, ó, and ú, with accurate sizing and layout for seam
Thank u
Hello would like to ask lighter lekker tikken switches are planned?
Not at this time. But we do sell lighter springs and tools to do it yourself.
💚
And then there's me, planning on actually using the 100g springs from the heist.
😂
If we ever end up having a bunch left after people have received all of theirs and gotten replacements for damaged or lost ones, I might sneak ten packs or so for a personal board, and swap the springs to 80s. Perfect weight for me.

my fn media contorl isnt working on the kb
it was workign before but idk what happened
i did run some tweaks on my pc
it only works when i specially have spotify already open which defeats the purpose of conveniently being able to switch tracks while im in other applications
any advice on how to fix this please?
is the full keyboard bad cuz i see everyone getting the module
nope I just want to use a different case/color. 😅
please ping with a solution
I received a full keyboard (black PCR) the day before yesterday. And I like it very much.
oh ok
The zinc case was simply too heavy (and too expensive) for me, and I'm not much of a tinkerer either.
hello would somebody recommend switches for wooting 80he?
UFOs 🛸
i like the base jades a lot
the jade pros are also nice
this is the jades stock on my 80he
anyone here know anything about the "true" performance of 80he? i found this on some korean website that i dont remember the name of a while ago and i dont really know how to verify it
i tried keyboardinspector before but its not good with polling rates above 1khz
You can't measure this with an app. You need actual, precision hardware to do so.
that makes sense
how to get wooting 80he for free
give us money and we send it to you for free
basically we get free money and you get a free keyboard so a win-win
Sounds criminal, but I'm down for some crime.
But it doesn't have to be a specific number of money? So I can send you like €2 I think I've got somewhere and can get keyboard?
Free?
Tricky JST cable? i can’t fit in the module without possibly flexing the cable a lot
Does not look fully inserted
If you lift the module to the left instead of top, you could possibly have some more freedom
it’s more the fact that it feels uncomfortable bending the wires to place it in
so with my 80he, i have it default zinc alloy, should i go for the new lekker tikken medium switches and if i do, do they come pre lubed or do i have to do that my self?
They are lubed 🙂↕️
and i live in the uk and im struggling to find any good keycap sets, any recommendations?
oh nice
https://www.alexotos.com/keyboard-vendor-list/ shop around for your region
just found that haha, ty!
took me an hour to assemble that keyboard😂
Same, the most difficult part is the JST connection and insert in case, like in your photos, i wanted to be very cautious but need to bend the cable a little to insert the PCB in case
The difference with my previous mechanical keyboard (KLIM Domination with outemu blue at 60+ gf switch) is insane, faster, sound very good, config app well made.
You made a great work on this keyboard !! GG
taking the time to do it right was best:)
hi for the white zinc case did they fix the paint issues
Yep v2 is one of the best coatings we’ve made
Although honestly speaking that v1 case was fine and the ones in the outlet store are some of the best deals lol
I got one for Christmas gift build and it was like $55 including the fancy travel case with it
thanks 👍
guys everytime i start my pc my wooting starts geeking so i have to plug it in and out, is there any way to fix this
This was measured when the wooting 80he had a bug
which has been fixed
he said he will do a retest a while back but he has not yet
ohh okay i see, ty for explaining
i have the same problem if you find a solution please dm me
Hey
I wanna get the 80he this xmas, but idk its like 200€ which is almost all my xmas money (250) I really wanna get it though. Should i? And what advantatges it gonna give me?
Its a windows setting iirc @wintry socket
Something about usb and startup
Up to you
If you are alr looking for a keyboard and u game
then yes
im looking forward for using it on shooter games and geometry dash
thats only the white.. right ? black they still working on.. ?..
id say its the best keyboard you can get
but idk, 200€ for a keyboard. I hope it atleast the durability is 6 years AT LEAST
it will last a long time
ive had a 20€ mechanical keyboard on amazon that i got on 2018, and like 2y ago i got a new keyboard
not if hes gonna hit someone with it ? ^^ haha!
it lasted 5-6 years
just dont do
and will i get a role here?
Running the keyboard over by a train
Running the keyboard over with a car
Using a water jet cutter
Using the keyboard as a weapon (note: zinc may still be intact after use)
Stabbing the keyboard
Using the keyboard as a baseball bat
Soldering components
Using the keyboard as a phone
Dropping the keyboard from a significant height
Submerging the keyboard in acid
Setting the keyboard on fire
Freezing the keyboard in liquid nitrogen
Smashing the keyboard with a hammer
Pouring cement over the keyboard
Using the keyboard as a shovel
Drilling holes through the keyboard
Covering the keyboard in glue and glitter (making it pretty)
Letting pets chew on the keyboard
Using the keyboard as a skateboard
Exposing the keyboard to extreme radiation (will not give super powers to keyboard)
Running the keyboard through a washing machine
Using the keyboard as a chopping board
Exposing the keyboard to a chemical spill
Throwing the keyboard into an industrial blender
Leaving the keyboard out in a snowstorm
Using the keyboard as a stepping stool
Burying the keyboard in sand
Overheating the keyboard in an oven or microwave

is wooting 80he gonna get a split bar aswell later down the line ? 😄
yea
Maybe, maybe not. We haven't announced plans for it at this time.
most expensive discord role
im still waiting for the black paint fix before i return mine in
i pray for the day
80he + with split spacebar
Also, do u think that 80he will soon get the aluminum board?
and i dont even use hand creme... lol
because i might wait a little just to get that
😢
it has a zinc case
im not wasting 300€ in a keyboard just to get another case
alu will be like 400 ngl
how 😭
maybe not lol
if u love it u gonna pay up anyway xd
How easy is it to fuck up the assembly ?
If you're on a really tight budget, but know that you definitely want a Wooting keyboard, consider the outlet store:
https://wooting.io/outlet
Currently we only have the "misfit" version of the 80HE white zinc, but we intend to add refurbished 80HEs (including the plastic versions) some time in January
Question, what is a "misfit"?
Slight cosmestic issues
Ig they won't have warranty
Add the item to the cart and it'll give you information.
Wrong.
they do
i really dont like to get refurbished items or nothing, i prefeer new
2 years?
2 year warranty on all refurbished, legacy, and misfit products
Oh damn
the white zinc stuff on outlet store is crazy good deal, especially if you just after the metal case
I still think I'll get a new frost
i will get normal 80he and just hope i made a good purchase
since it comes with the travel case, which isn't mentioned on that page
well if its gonna be passed 2 years before they fix the paint on the black zinc ?
I just need to know if assembly is easy cuz I alr watched the guide like trimes alr
And how to convince my parents to send the money ?
i'm doing the same
Contact support so that your issue is documented, then once we have a solution ready for you, we can assist you
Get the tikkens they're the same price as prebuilt
i already have better switches, i just want that case and probably white keycaps
What are they ?
I though u didn't have à wooting
Mention to your parents that we have the longest warranty for keyboards of any company, have one of the top customer service teams in the industry, and that we are continuously providing software and feature updates even to our very first keyboard from 10 years ago (if the hardware allows)
Parents like that kind of stuff 😛
same
Yeah I Thought of that alr
my back is hurting from bringing it to school
I just need to be sure the assembly is easy
the zinc
It is easy
Thx for helping
it is yea
Buy 80HE zinc -> get swol
might get a refurbished zinc case tho
they have videos on it, you literally can't f it up if you are functional human being
that seems a nice deal
I prefer plastic in every way
Price looks and sound cuz it's a but less dampened
Do not test the denizens of Discord
Yea it is, like Jed mentioned, incredible value
One note though, the zinc case available now on the outlet store is not refurbished, it's a new factory-sealed product
Is there any promo code or sale around february or march ?
We don't discount keyboards
DISCORD DISCOUNT is usually active
Then why is it sold like it is ?
At least, not time limited ones
(outlet store products have a standing discount that won't change)
Thisis why
Cosmetic issues in factory
they're the v1 coating basically, so more prone to chip in shipping and such. Although my copy that I just received was actually flawless (just we can't guarantee that since things can happen in shipping)
Ohhhh
ok done ! 😛 ty
Can anyone help me with an issue? Not sure where to who to ask.
When playing a game keyboard goes weird and spams ''||||||||'' and i can't figure out what is going on with it. Even resetting it fully while it's doing it does nothing and the only thing that stops it is restarting the PC fully.
I think one of or more keys are deffective but the only way i found to type out the Pipe symbol is to press Alt GR + Shift + # . Anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?
They keyboard settings are stock and it's not even a few days old
maybe try changing the switches? or replug it
Tried it, not gonna touch the actuators beneath it at all. Did some trouble shooting online on what i could find and test - there are defective keys. When they warm up they decide out of nowhere it's go time and the only way to stop them i found is reset the PC. Pulling the plug it did not give a fuck about. Gonna go for warranty on monday hopefully they got a replacement on hand
Long story short defective product is most likely - but i'm not a tech guy or a tech so i could be wrong. For now old keyboard to save the day lol
maybe someone in #1019755933959733258 can help you with your problem
I had the same issue, I mentioned this too, rn i am testing it out if it's profile bug or a rapid trigger bug. And mostly while I play COD and place multiple keys it just stops registering and skips 60% of my button clicks while I am holding the buttons in.
been unplugging it, next time its fixed, the other moment the issue came back.
Noticed the same
I have wooting80 he , wanna know if there is something in wootility to automate texting, like u know when a bottom of a text u need to write the same copy paste ?
Yo, does the Wooting 80HE work with a PS4 Pro?
Works with everything yea lol
Its a bit annoying tho but yeah hopefully they can sort this out in the next updates
Idk where to report those issues
getting GPU usage along with CPU would be sick for the light indicator
Hey! From time to time when I'm playing games, my RGB flashes and the last key pressed gets stuck, as if the keyboard is disconnecting for 1 second then comes back. Did anyone get this problem?
no but have you plugged anything new into your pc recently?
tried different usb ports?
ah not sure then sorry :(
It's alright, thank you!
Also worth mentioning - I made sure that the cable is solid without any cuts or damage and it's plugged properly on both ends
Maybe someone could help out?
this sounds like an issue that used to happen with the 80he back when it released, but it has since been fixed. what firmware version are you on?
Let me check
Umm not sure where to check the version
I did upgrade it to the latest however
Oh, found it.
Firmware: v2.12.1 (also a text on green background saying "up to date" appears)
hm that version should be good
does it happen when you move the keyboard around on your desk? the internal cable could be loose
Nope, can't make it happen from moving it around/shaking it
I will keep and eye out for it tho
have you tried a different cable
No, just the original Wooting cable
and its plugged directly into the pc?
Yes
hmmm
guys my keyboard keeps disconnecting all the time when im in wootility after the update, anyone with a similar issue?
adding onto this, cpu and gpu temps would be slick too
Yeah I want to add more things but doing so in a way that works on all systems and doesn't require some weird driver that's vulnerable (and valorant for example refuses to allow) is quite difficult
I have a prototype internally that connects to hwinfo64 and can grab every single sensor which is cool
completely fair, still looking forward to future updates because i dont rly use the light indicator for much atm but do see the potential
Tap into HWInfo64 API instead 👀
What do you mean by this
I forget which application I was using that did this, but it called out to hwinfo to access my system metrics
Yeah that's what I'm doing, re-read the message :p
The main limitation is the 12h limit on the free version
Yeah it made me upgrade which I thought was honestly fair
Haha same here
I'll try and clean this up and add it as a feature, hopefully it's pretty nice to use
Most likely there will be no presets for it, you'll have to do the effects yourself
I think the turbo nerds will love it, looking forward to it
https://github.com/Artemis-RGB/Artemis.Plugins.HardwareMonitors
I implemented a bunch of this type of thing for an open source project I contribute to
So it was easy to add here :D
I was gonna say an RGB effect to tie into the hwinfo metrics would be swanky. Didn’t know about the Artemis project, seems neat
It seems right up your alley, it's essentially background service turned up to 11
It's not really easy to use though
The noise RGB effect in wootility was heavily inspired by Artemis' default profile too
Gotta try this out!
There's a chance wooting keyboards with newer firmwares don't properly work with it yet, I'll have to go fix that 🙃
Checkout will give you an estimate. Crazy I know.
is it accurate?

Zink case or gt-80 case,Toughts?
Is wooting background service available on github/elsewhere? Need direct download link
Why?
3 different plates, didnt foam combos etc, 10 diff switches tried over the last few weeks but its done
ive settled on my perfect sound
wanna make nix drv for download/installing
And using the install button within Wootility isn't good enough?
I just wanna manage my system declarative as possible, rather than imperative
but if it's not possible atm, understandable
Not a clue what that's supposed to mean. But no. No github atm 🙂
in my system, if wooting.enable = true then
config = mkIf (builtins.elem "wooting" dev.device.type) {
services.udev = {
packages = [pkgs.wooting-udev-rules];
};
Thats why I want to package wooting background service also, so my system will manage it without manual input basically
Why is my wooting lowkey cooked after the latest update? My number keys arent numbers and my letters arent letters they’re swapped around usually replugging it in would fix it but its just stuck now I cant login to my pc, example : 1 key is ! even if I press shift, I just fixed it but anyone know how I could permanently resolve this?

most I changed recently was (I use windows so I just keep it on regular)
could it be the debounce filter beta?
Shouldn't be.
Check the Windows layout https://help.wooting.io/article/166-how-to-change-windows-keyboard-layout
Changing the keyboard layout of your keyboard on a Windows based machine is pretty simple, this guide will help you install and help you switch between them. In
I already have mine set idk how it could be changing my wooting also lights up weird sometimes on startup for my pc
I did have a problem with it going to french for some reason about a year ago
maybe windows is just garbage per usual tbf

bet
alright I'll be back if it does it again but we seem good after the wipe I also installed the background service for the keyboard since I didn't have it before, seems like its required after the last update from how it made me setup the 80he as of now
Background service isn't required, no.
why does my keyboard keeps disconecting
Make a post in #1019755933959733258 and give more details.
do they sell the 80he in white zinc alloy?
Yes? Always have.
i just now circled that problem more thing is BIOS activates the keyboard (i see the bar light on wich usaly is a good indicator when do press del/f2 for bios) but than windows splash screen or loginscreen without login deaktivates it
therfor i asume windows sees 1000 devices and does not choos it as standard device and deaktivates it i asume if i deaktivate this checkbox it should work
problem is how on earth do i find out wich one is the right one to choos from if i unplug and replug the wooting it generates like 5 interface devices HAHA
roll d5 and wish you got it correct
i asume its windows shit but honestly i wished the hardware producers could give a little extra detail text Wooting Keeyboarddriver wooting gamepad driver ETC that would be realy helpfull
well additional software helped when it comes to this in deep shit i realy hate windows why is it not shown the hub
This actualy can be solved from wooting
@upbeat berry can you give that to some guys fixing it internaly that can cause a fallback of the handshake and that wouild fit with my case that very< randomly it does not start but mostly it does start proper
----------------- Device Qualifier Descriptor -----------------
Error : ERROR_GEN_FAILURE (*!*ERROR USB 2.0 HighSpeed devices must provide a Device Qualifier Descriptor)
well to fix it wed need to know whats causing it
if i understan d it correct the Device Qualifier descriptor is faulty
then it would never work for anyone on coldboot
actually it would just never work probably
as far as i know usb is very leenient and it could work still without much problems maybe im wrong
if that was the case then its not the problem
id more assume theres some issue with USB handoff from bios/uefi to OS
thanks good point i will check it on my laptop with the same programm it should not show that error in that case there
i anyway now finaly see wich usb controller has wich hardware and therfor changing the usb port to one difrent controller will in 90% anyway solve the issue - stuff like that just keep nagging me till i understand it
Why is the switch selector not included in the owlab ti?
they did a collaboration, so I thought it would be included
Owlabs are among switches that will be added to the switch selector soon
officialy?
They're just presets. You can define it manually
Wow, that's good to hear Thank you!!
not collabo? just Tribute?
Huh
Hi! I got the 80he with the lekker tikken switches and am feeling they might be a it too heavy for me. Atleast the start key press feels a bit too strong. I am coming from cherry mx brown and would like something similar when it comes to force. What other switch you think I should try ?
You should try spring swapping Tikkens instead of getting another set of switches
geon works raw he 40g or owlab ti 40g try it
Ohh interesting didn't know I could do that. So I see I can buy different types, I guess l45 springs would be the way to go?
Thanks will also check those
Yes, you can order 45g Lekker springs and swap Tikken springs with them. You'll need switch opener for this.
https://wooting.io/product/lekker-spring-packs?Weight=Linear45
Any need for lubing afterwards or its just swapping the spring?
You can bag lube them with GPL105 if you want cleaner sound, but that's up to you.
Ah ok but if its not needed I think I would try without
Not necessary to lube
Thank you !
The difference in spring length between tikken and the ones on the store is not an issue ? Will i feel any difference except for the force ?
Different spring length is not an issue. Long springs can feel snappier than the normal ones, but the difference is small imo.
My keyboard only works in games but still can’t use chat, and if I click keys they do commands please help
Thanks again!
Mate it's been 4 minutes
Not everyone has an idea of how to help. And not everyone checks constantly.
Gotta have some patience.
Hehehaw mb
Hehe
I also have the Lekker Tikken switches installed. And i won't be swapping switches anytime soon.
Oh dear....
Uh oh
Oops
Its done that on multiple of the arrow keys
what the
how are you pulling your keycaps
i would maybe contact whoever sold you the caps and see if that is a common issue
That's crazy and should not happen. I'm borderline abusive in how I pull my caps off sometimes and never had a stem break like that.
I take the full fascia off the keyboard then carefully remove them with my fingers, the arrow keys are the easiest to get off
I've messaged the guy in his discord as he's really active with his community
hey hey!!
I cleaned my keyboard today and replaced a switch that was double clicking, but..
that key now stopped working entirely 😭
replacing it again (with either the old switch or another new one) doesn't seem to work, and wootility doesn't show anything whatsoever (so its not just lower sensitivity)
is there anything I could do to try to fix it..?
maybe consider a keycap puller
i would recommend the ws keycap puller
If you have profiles back the codes up and try a reset
oh that worked!! tysm <3
Happened only once since, still got no idea what is causing it
Maybe a loose internal JST cable.
