how can i turn off the gamepad feature?
i wanted to turn it off there but i cant switch it back off
Got it in today š
shit looks beautiful š
These colors go hard.
8k polling rate
I have developed an unhealthy ritual of going through #š¦ābatch_updates and order status at least twice a day
Those pics here look so sleek I canāt wait to get my hands on one
that's normal, but I guess you try forgetting about it
takes a long time for water to boil when it's being looked at
lol yes I should try to do that
the same šš
checking in what country my keeb is just every morning

Today it finally arrived - 80he module + frost case + Geon raw He ... I'm stunned how nice it looks as well as how nice it sounds. Assembly was nice as well. Thank you Wooting! šš
Hey there, I recently made the switch to linux and I've been wondering if I can get the Media Controls to work on Spotify, as they don't seem to work out of the box. Has anyone tried this before?
wierd question but is it intedet that my f keys and esc a on the left side a futher down than on the right side
It's 1mm across all F-keys, so it's not really bad, just wanted to mention it
Looks cool! Gratz bro!
Thinking of swapping out my Zinc for Ghost.. Have the ghost still wrapped up in it's packaging.. never disassembled any Wooting so is it just unscrewing the assembly screws and changing out the case or do I need to take the key caps off, switches off, etc to swap out the case? sorry for the dumb question,
Thanks
TY
Damn my keyboard says in transit since the 14th š
Does wooting have different switches to choose from for this keyboard or just the one
You live in Hawaii or somthing
PR
There are many compatible switches https://wootingmods.com/switchguide/
Here are some popular recommendations
Do they offer it or do you have to replace them your self if you know
Nvm
I see there are different brands
You have to buy them separately and put them yourself.
Wooting only sells TTC KOM (RGB and POM), Geon Raw, Gateron Jade
Sure, other switches have different sound and feel.
is in shopping cart for 80HE
see's a nice cable to go with it
oh nice i'll select the whi-$50 ah heck no
How does it work with like space bars do other brands sell like stabilizers or something with them or do you use the original stabilizer
Stock stabilizers are good, no need to swap them with third party stabilizers.
Alright thanks for the info
Just starting to learn the basics of keyboards in general
first non mainstream keeb. what would you say the average bottom out force is of a mainstream keyboard? wondering if i want heavier than that
also, do induction stovetops effect the HE sensors in another room?
or microwaves, or truckers on their radio
Gotta give Wooting props. Well done guys !! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ltodomiTRPQ

Ended up getting my replacement today :) Since the black one was peeling. Originally wanted the white base as well but they stopped selling it and were working on the v2.
had to keep some parts of the old base to remember lmao
I'm curiosu what people use to clean their 80he zinc cases, I was thinking isopropyl but I'm worried it might damage the coating given what I've seen about the zinc peeling for black
makes sense, I guess i'm just used to using isopropyl for my mouse and mousepad so I always keep a bottle on my desk where its convenient
it's a nice touch, the black spacebar
you could test the underside of it first, so if it gets ruined then at least you can't see it
also, ask the devs if iso is fine
i think i heard iso is really bad for silicone, which i don't think any of the keeb has?
its just rubbing alcohol so shouldn't have any severe effects on silicone
maybe it'll affect the surface finish somewhat but that would be it
yeah im more worried about the case itself
the nice thing is iso just doesnt really leave streaks or anything
but maybe i just need to buy some distilled water
Just use water on silicone
There is tutorial on youtube
do induction stovetops, trucker radios, or microwaves effect HE keebs in another room?
Sounds american
truckers don't use radios in whereever?
Well they use it
residential homes don't use microwave ovens?
Though I don't think so there should be magnetic interference UNLESS. Keyboard touches it
@sterile mesa you got pc rig in truck?
well i hear those things are so strong that they'll interfear with a heck of a lot
desktop speakers near the keyboard i wonder
Well you can ask wooting support or ask in #1019755933959733258
ah ty
i still had a screw in, thanks tho
Well tutorial would tell u that
I just received the replacement wrist rest(dent issue), but I noticed that the silicone surface appears to have some coating peeled off.
Since this issue appeared even on the replacement product, I have to admit itās starting to get a bit frustrating.
can turning off rgb make the wooting 80he faster? when i already have 8k mode on
I think 8k is fastest possible communication speed with current USB tech. Wootility won't let you have any settings on that would make it any less than that when the 8k mode is on
i heard if you wax your modem, it might make it go faster
Does the Wooting coiled cable add-on work reliably with the Wooting 80HE, or are there known compatibility or performance issues?
It works as it should - not sure what gave you the idea it wouldn't.
Some people in another server mentioned that the coiled cable might not work properly with the 80HEās 8K polling rate when I brought up my order.
I appreciate your fast response and putting my mind at ease
Hello! I'm new here lol. Just ordered an 80HE for myself.
hi
btw how do i get the role cuz i got a wooting too
idk. Just did the opening survey.

thanks i have it now
ok bought 80HE with lekkers60 and white on white
with the japa caps as well
might order the 80g springs too
should i lube those if i get them?
If ur ordering springs thatās a question you can answer by yourself tbh
I would lube the springs personally, but I enjoy the process.
Just put on some binge TV at my desk, and then just do a handful of switches at a time, rinse repeat for 4-5 hours š
Bag lube them with GPL105
hi
hey all, im pretty new to the whole keyboard modding and semi custom keyboard life, im just wondering if anyone has a guide or a video showing how to make the 80HE thcoky as all hell, ive gotten the KBDfans GT80 which i love, but really wanna make the whole sound deeper where i can.
any tips or recommendations of things i could get would also be greatly appricated
Not doable, even with third party switches.
Pretty much all HE switches are closed bottom and clacky. You can't make the HE keyboard "Thocky" because the magnet is hitting the bottom and it makes loud sound.
well if you want a deeper less sharp sound you should consider plastic case over metal
Still won't be the sound that they want.
yeah it was deeper with the plastic case it came with, but i like the feel and look of the GT80 case
Easiest thing to do here is learn to embrace clack
^
I wouldn't describe the sound of lekker v2s in any pcr 80he case as particularly sharp or clacky
but sure it ain't no bass monster either
Nearly 1 year after release of the 80he ... still no background service. There's no point in talking about how good you are at creating software if you can't manage to release a small helper tool within 12 months.
Don't you work according to āagileā principals? Solve a small but important problem and then repeat the process (iterate)
I'm a little disappointed with Wooting... I have to admit.
We've been trying to hire another developer for months last I checked.
Timelines have forced us to prioritize certain things higher. The background service has not been abandoned by any means.
I'm curious if it would be possible to create the optimum case for 80he same with the keycaps down the line maybe
Only if Ali wants to make it. It's a collab. We're not the ones you need to convince.
Software is what sets Wooting apart from 10-20 other keyboard manufacturers. But not much is happening in that area at the moment. (Okay... that's not quite right... I can see the Wootility updates)
If Wooting were to step up its game in this area, you would be years ahead of the competition. I find that a little surprising (from a strategic point of view).
Optimum doesn't want it. He's the 60% guy
Erik said yesterday that they asked him and he didn't want a case for 80HE
Ah well there you go.
I agree, but itās better placed in #1141096226884956181.
š
You're absolutely right.. It just occurred to me again... because we are approaching the 80he anniversary.
progress on new features for the software is def a bit slower than I'd like but am guessing these types of devs aren't the most abundant out there
and at least the stuff we do get releases in a mostly polished and finished state
You should make a post in feedback, or just copy paste your message from earlier. Itās a valid concern/observation I think
every time theyāre working on a new keyboard it is
Wootility V5
that was admittedly a bit rough but it did overhaul a lot of things in one go from v4
Hey guys; why i am not able to use wootily on my tablet?!
I am using an Samsung S10 Ultra
I use chromeā¦
In an āagileā world, the most important thing is to create value. The software doesn't have to be the most beautiful in the world at first glance; it has to generate value for the customer.
Requirements change daily. If it takes a year or longer to release software, the requirements may have changed 10 times in the meantime, or the competition may have already released similar software.
well sure but the competition also has probably 10 times the developer staff at the very least
Iām sure specific developers are difficult to find but itās been quite some time. I think they couldāve if they wanted to.
Not sure how other companies are doing it if it was that difficult.
tablet not supported probably. not all chrome is the same, iOS doesnāt work either.
If you don't have 10 developers at your disposal, then you have to make do with 1-2 developers. But the competition doesn't take that into account or take a break.
In addition, most other manufacturers use OEM software that cannot be easily adapted to customer requirements (for a specific customer). And that's where Wooting can score points and stand out from the competition
I think they want to but the resources are probably still lacking a bit
Iāve said this before but I donāt think the current rate is sustainable
You have to play to your strengths in the market and not let time slip away.
like a year ago they had to put most of the effort into hiring customer support staff and maintain that fire from spreading further
and there's still hardware issues like the zinc coating to iron out
considering other options
true
things like that can literally tank a smaller company altogether if not attended to, but it inevitably leads to other departments suffering
the cs thing seems to be mostly worked out by now though so am hoping the software side of things moves up in priority soon
if they didnāt focus as much on cs, it wouldāve been worse for sure
its what made them so popular in the first place after all and losing that edge is dangerous
so thatās good and thereās still time to focus on wootilty
wootility dont work on phones or tablets
yeah thatās what I think as well
especially now that others are so close
woot isnāt the only one in town anymore
The fact is that the competition can produce more cheaply with low-cost labor. What others are not good at, or even really bad at, is software.
But since Wooting has fallen behind significantly in the area of software, the competition has an opportunity to catch up here.
their customer service and repairability are also very strong suits but its not as immediately apparent to a new buyer
But many people don't see that. They only see the selling price.
unfortunately
Of course, it's easy for us to talk here... and the truth is obviously more complicated than we currently assume.
But that's the customer's view from the outside.
Why not???? Is the same web based browser etc!! Supose to work!!
The price to build quality OEMs can offer is pretty much unbeatable and it has been for quite some time. It seemed kinda odd that Woot focused on build quality with the 60HE v2 so much as itāll increase the price even more, but it might work out well.
This is one of the reason i chose an keyboard with web based software! What you mean is not working with phone and tablet!
itās not..
Why?!
Chrome on iOS is not a chromium browser
device matters
probably the same for android
Still is a web app
like andriod or apple or windows
linux, windows and macOS works
Why not android and ios?!
cause the browsers are different if not more
its just not supported
I know but is hilaroius ā¦
webhid is not a thing on android or ios that's why
because its not that vital
odd that itās not on android
But supose to be supported
oh yea
ā¦.. this is what i try to say here too
you donāt have a PC?
400 euro keyboard with none support

I have but i use the keyboard on my Samsunt Tablet S10 Ultra
𤨠Wooting can't do anything about it.
does wootility say it needs chrome or a chromium browser?
Look:
if it says chrome, thatād be misleading
āon your computerā
I will return the keyboard and chose and similar one half price that suports android too
Is a jokeā¦.this thingā¦
We have zero control over whether or not IOS and Android will let a USB device communicate with a browser app.
do keyboard exist that have an android app?
dawg u wont find one
A lot
We sell gaming keyboards marketed for PCs, not handheld smartphones and tablets. That's just how it is.
hate to tell you but there are no keyboards that will support that
its not a wooting issue
any gaming ones?
Yes
if they have an app, surely an app can communicate over USB?
Same like wootingā¦
if ur sure go for it honestly. just make sure its true
Is web based app like wootility
it wont work dawg
I have bad news for you. You won't find a keyboard that supports android
which board?
One of my friend have one!
web based is not going to work...
not the same thing
Can you name this supposed keyboard? I am intrigued.
web based is not the same as andriod support
In web you set up the keyboard the settings stay on the board!
because it doesn't work on Android at all it's not a thing that is supported on Android
Thats the purpose of web app right??
you can still use your PC to change the setting and then use it with your tablet (if it provides enough power).
itās not like the keyboard doesnāt work at all
you just canāt change the settings
Yes i can; but i want to change on the go not swapping the cable
I have more then 1 month using this one
And i save the profiles on the board is working
why one would even consider a wired keyboard to use with a tablet
maybe your friend uses linux on his tablet?
Only Wootility is not working on browser on the tablet
a 200+ gaming kb at that
Same table s10 ultra
the keyboard works, your web browser won't be able to send or read any data from your keyboard
Only the keyboard is another brand
yea uhh, webHID does not work on android
you know which keyboard your friend has?
that is not a wooting thing
gaming on android should be a bannable offense upvote if you agree
anyways you should be able to set up a profile for it in wootility on your pc and then stick to using that when hooked up to the tablet
I will ask him and let you know; 120euro he paid for it
go for it honestly, if ur sure it works and it is a dealbreaker, i dont see any problem
clash of clans is good, fuck u pal

how often do you really need to get under the hood of your kb settings anyways
mobile legends
"hihihaa"
its been months since I last touched wootility
look its 90% less pain than league
and 60% of the fun
I dunno seems like a silly thing to nitpick on imo
Again - Android has no Wooting support. We can't force Google or Apple to add support.
Read
actually
woot should add proper keyboard setting on the board itself
maybe thatās what his friend uses
changing actuation points, rapid trigger, etc
would be good
rather than just RGB FX š
I have the keyboard connected on this dicking
šš
I dont see any reason why wootility is not working to change actuation point rapin trigger colors etcā¦
Basics of the web app make sense?!
Because it's a genuine nightmare to try and do that with no screen to see settings on š
because android..
Hmmmm ā¦.
the keyboard is a screen pal.
Anyone who's owned a Ducky keyboard knows the pain of changing settings with weird button combinations and prayer.
the reason is your device and everyone else's android/iOS device doesn't support it
Maybe guys from wooting can have a look on this one
I guess we are in 2025⦠right?!
there is nothing they can do Google would have to add support for it to work
i still dont believe a keyboard ur friend has can do that
but if ur sure of it, i would like to see what it is
Is a chinse model i am not sure the name
no worries
But i will ask him and add here all details
just curious
Only way I can see this working is a custom app, not a website - And there's just no market for us there. Why would you use a tablet to configure your PC keyboard? š
But yes i am sure he can change all the settings like i do on windows
But he can do it on his s10 ultra
Why not?!
Because i paid for the keyboard to use it where and how i want!
And i supose to have support for that!
Is not an alibaba one right?!
We never marketed the keyboard for tablets or phones. You assumed a use we never said it would do.
Similarly we don't market our keyboards specifically for consoles, as Sony and friends don't want to provide the same connectivity to the keyboard via a website.
I think you might be the only person who has ever complained about it - so I gueess lack of demand would be why
400 euro keyboard and it can't even microwave my hotpockets!!!!!!
I paid precisely for that
that is definitely not going to translate well
Nvm! Is ok; i will return this one and go with something else⦠the only diference will be the prince⦠less then half of this one
what you should have done in the first place is to buy a bt keyboard
sounds like a plan if you want support for changing settings on your tablet maybe buy something with the ability to change settings on the keyboard or has a dedicated app
the things that basically exist for this purpose
I donāt think ChromeOS support it either so I could see a market for it
a whole 5 people but still.

I bought racing slicks for my shitbox and now I can't steer in the rain, garbage ass tires smh
maybe we're missing out on the gigantic phone setup crowd though
i picture someone with a phone connected to keyboard, mouse and external monitor
samsung dex really taking off
Do they not have libraries?
korea has a big coffee culture where you just hang out in coffee shops when you meet friends
werenāt there mnay osu players playing on tablets?
and the students decided they wanted to combine that with study so now they all study in coffee shops, but some clearly take it a bit far lol
I think these were for inputs?
LAN party at a twosome place?
Drawing tablets
with a pen
oh
it is pretty impressive starbucks basically changed an entire generation here into coffee hang out people
buying a wooting for your tablet is like some going out of your way to make things as complicated and expensive as possible for you trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, at some point you gotta take a step back and see it for what it is, a stupid fucking idea
"I bought this $500 controller and can't even use it on osu???"
he might be a mobile legends pro, who knows
what about switch 2 support im refunding smh
Compatibility doesnāt seem to be explicitly stated anywhere.
Even on the 60HE+, this is whatās stated. Which isnāt true.
All operating systeams means something else.
the OSes in question are for PCs
it is but its a fair point tbh
Sue them bro, youāll win
I don't think they support ibm os/2 or kobol either even if they're technically pc OSes as well
or various other legacy systems
I try to help⦠my point is good⦠just some box people maka maka here without understanding my point of viewā¦
its just that your particular usecase for a gaming kb like this is an extremely niche one, and would be kinda hard to argue for implementing support when it affects so few
idk I could be wrong but for the wooting android userbase to even be in double digits would be a pretty generous estimation to most I think
and googles lack of api's makes it unnecessarily difficult to implement even if there was a larger demand
its not that big of a deal having to do your kb profile setups on a pc and be confined to that on a different platform, imo
like again how often do you really need to keep changing your kbs functionality on a whim
Was nice to be able anytime you need it
yeah but after a certain point you kinda have your preferences figured out and won't find much reason to reinvent your wheel, at least I don't anyways
I did spend quite a bit of time tweaking my various profiles for the first couple months using it but its been like a year since I made any real changes
Do you have a PC or cheap laptop? You could use that to tweak your settings to see if you actually like the board or not.
You can return it too but if youāre not from The Netherlands, itāll probably be pretty pricey.
hi there. i just got my 80HE today and wanted to ask if there is any chance to get macros to work like pressiing a "macro key" and the key just following the before saved key pattern till you again press the "macro key"
No, but you can fill out this survey and it they might add macro support in the future: #š£āannouncements message
You can use something like AutoHotkey in the mean time though.
dks is about as close to macro functionality as you'll get in current wootility but still can't loop or latch keys with it
thanks ā¤ļø
Hi guys, I preordered my 80he and I remember receiving a trial for Refrag for CS2 as kind of like a cute bonus reward. I never really played the game but recently my partner got into it and wanted me to learn as well but I can't find the code. Was there an expiry date on it?
I think that code was valid for about a month
oh damn, i missed it by a long shot then :(
Every time I set my Wooting 80HE to 8K polling rate, the keyboard reconnects every few seconds, intermittently. Sometimes it happens very frequently and other times only occasionally, but it always occurs once I configure it to 8K. I have also tried updating the keyboard firmware, but the problem persists.
Iām using the original cable since this keyboard is less than a week old. Itās connected to the USB 3.2 port on my Gigabyte AMD A520M S2H motherboard.
Use included cable and try other USB port.
Make sure the keyboard is plugged directly into the motherboard.
Iām using the original cable since this keyboard is less than a week old. Itās connected to the USB 3.2 port on my Gigabyte AMD A520M S2H motherboard.
Have you tried different cable?
Try decreasing RGB brightness
Try another port, it could be the current port youāre using isnāt getting enough power (can be a lot of reasons - such as too many devices plugged in, that usb port just being a bit dodgy with stable power etc etc)
Including the keyboard, there are four devices connected, and the RGB is indeed at 100%, but I didnāt think this could have an effect.
Try different port and if you still have issues, decrease the brightness to 70%
I already tried changing the port and setting the RGB to 65%. This is an issue Iāve noticed since I first received and connected the keyboard. Something worth mentioning is that the reconnections happen more frequently when itās plugged into a USB 2.0 port, but they occur less often when itās connected to a USB 3.2 port.
Odd. Do you have another USB cable to try?
No, but one point to highlight is that I have the original cable rolled up with the clip it comes with.
Keep the cable straight
idk i tried using wootility on the international space station and it wasn't working
Is a split spacebar wooting 80he planned for the future?
Not currently, no.
is it normal if my 80he is like hot
hot or just warm
also if you got a zinc housing its even more expected to not stay cool/cold
If it's warm, that's normal. Keyboard can get a bit warm because of the LEDs
the bottom is like hot hot
š¤Ø
and its metal case
Turn down RGB brightness
ig ill go from 10 to 5
thx man ill let u know if its still hot if u care
can someone give me good set up for my keyboard that is fast i play a lot of fps game i mainly use my space bar, wasd, c, v, shift, ctrl, 12345
so if I buy it like this, the case will still come with the foam, daughterboard, and JST cable?
Yes.
And a USB-C cable
great thank you!
i have ordered this, is this the whole keyboard?
Yes
stillpretty hot but less hot by like 2 %
bruh why am i being told that there may be additional vat/gst charges after i have made a purchase
Tells you before you add it to cart and before you purchase
What country?

Hi guys - new to custom keyboards, I have a few key cap sets from KBDFans, which are cool, but they don't have RGB shine through, my office area is quite dimly lit and I now realise how much I prefer shinethrough. The PBT black set I got with my keyboard from Wooting will still do the job. I do prefer having icons though. Anyway in general are ABS keycap shinethrough worse or better than PBT? It seems to be quite difficult to find keycaps with a cool legend design and shine through.
Regarding the black zinc case blistering issue: how long can you make a claim with Wooting if this happens? Iām concerned that if I buy a case now, before the fix is released in 6 months, it might develop damage let's sayt a year or two after purchase, and then they could say itās too late for support. How does Wooting handle cases for people who buy the case before the fix is available?
Within the warranty period, provided you reach out when you observe the issue.
On the wooting website is says: "Every Wooting keyboard has a minimum 2-year up to 4-year manufacturerās warranty from the date of shipment.". How many years of warranty is it for the coating exactly?
Look on website of product how much warranty does it have
My 2 months old wooting 80he zinc allow paint has already started to coming off and this is really sad considering how expensive it is
contact support
theres also a yt vid on it
oh you reposted this in other channels
There are a list of buttons you can assign
I don't quite understand, I mean that I downloaded a profile for a game that was made for a different version, the question is how to activate f1 f2 on this keyboard in xd software
You imported a 60HE profile into a 80HE. So you gotta add the missing keys
yeah yeah how to do it in soft
thats the quastion
ty!
DE layout yes but does everyone have the problem the stock enter key not letting out enough of the rgb?
That's normal on ISO.
okay thank u ā¤ļø
ANSI > ISO confirmed
The symbol is offset due to how the stabilizer has to be oriented for this L shaped key.
It's something we've adjusted for future keycap set manufacturing, though I believe it's a rolling change. So no way to tell if a set or board ordered has the old or new alignment.
What does does wooting do about the blistering issue send a new one or make you send it to them to fix
Theres a variety of options, depending on what you pick. One of the options are you keep the case and full refund on cost of case. Another is plastic case shipped to you and partial refund.
Thereās a couple more options I canāt recall off the top of my head.
They wonāt just ship you a new version of the same case but plastic?
We donāt ship the same case because if you experienced the issue once then it will trigger again due to the same factors. We are working on a new coating solution for black but until thatās done we wonāt be shipping another black case to replace a blistered one
Thereās a recent video on our YouTube that goes over the issue in more detail that might be worth of watch if you want more in depth breakdown on it
Alright
Oh so itās just the black one
Iāll probably wait till they fix the issue to get the 80 either way
That could be 3-6 months away. Iād recommend a white zinc case if you are worried about the issue
itās also something that only happens to 1% or less of users who have a particular combination of factors involving things such as resting hands on case constantly and specific sweat acidity
bad keycap design but you can look for transparent switches, those will help.
Alr, which is the thockiest and best sounding. GEON raw, GEON Raptor v2, OWL labs ti
Of those 3 the raw he, although none of them are really thocky
raptor is a tad higher than raw and ti he is definitely a louder clack sound
I donāt really love the raptor v2 sound wise, but they are very stable
None of them. Wait for Lekker Tikkens, they'll sound deeper than all three options that you mentioned.
Yeah thereās no thocky switches from what Iāve seen
Any date on the Lekker Tikkens? Or is it still Q1 2026 with the he60v2
Mm yeah Iāll probably just get some geon raws in the meantime bout to get my wooting 80he soon
highly recommend the geon raws
Is there automatic profile switching?
Officially? No, not yet.
But here's a fan project: https://github.com/ShayBox/Wooting-Profile-Switcher
no. in a future update there will be.
a future update between now and 2030
Reach out to Wooting https://wooting.io/support
Pick the category and issue you need help with, and we'll guide you through the process.
Hope they'll be able to just send only the cover so I can transplant the keyboard into it easily
Have they changed the paint they use during the last year?
afaik they're doing tests with sweat-like chemicals and stuff to find a coating that resists wear better
Heh, i just started rubbing it because it looked like oil had piled up there. But it was wrinkly paint
Do I need to do any recalibration if I mix switches ( in my example leeker60 v2 and ttc magneto rgb) besides removing and readding the cable?
No, keyboard auto-calibrates.
should the bottom out mm switch in app or it would stay at 4mm or is that because its mixed switch layout?
Thanks btw. ā¤ļø
No, it's not because you mixed switches. 0-4mm in wootility is actually 0-100% for now.
Wooting is working on a switch selector, you'll be able to choose your switch (For example TTC RGB) for faster and more precise calibration.
Thanks for the info you are amazing.
so does the raw zync have the same like chipping issues as the black zync case
Zinc* but no and yes. It has had some similar issues where the coating breaks down and the case starts rusting.
thats what they do š
is it that big of an issue to the point where I shoulnd't be ordering the case?
The raw cases seems to be more like a way to send out to an annodizer to customize to whatever color u want
Not really.
$100 for a case that can rust seems crazy is all
Welcome to metal.
somehow my dyma raze has made it without any rust over 5 years lol
lol facts metal is pricey
It has a coating just like the black and white zinc cases. If it didn't, it would just white rust over time. You'd still have to sand that off before adding anything else.
so i'd expect similiarly priced products to function the same if not better lol
Ooooooo
Itās not a hard annodized part I assume or do people really just want that raw look
I mean, not every metal keyboard will scuff -> rust.. just saying
but from your pov doesnt see mlike that big of an issue since its raw anyway
and not painted or anything
Different metals react differently, and need different coatings.
razer uses aluminium. alumium doesnt visually "rust" the same way because there is a thin even oxide layer on it that prevents it from getting worse. completely different than zinc
And again - The Raw Zinc is not RAW. It has a protective coating. If it didn't, it'd rust.
Oh I don't buy razor products. Just comparing to a similar full metal alloy keyboard that I've had currently
apples to oranges, both are fruits. just very different types of
I mean not really lol. But not the place to argue. Seems llike the paint issue isint a big deal anyway so thanks for the info
prob still gonna get a szinc case
according to wooting its like 1% of the consumers had black zinc issues
mine had issues (to sweaty when gaming ig). so i got a replacement white zinc + wristrest for free
good to know wooting stands behind their product. I appreciate that from a consumer perspective
biggest reason why i dont want to get a nuphy or some cheaper alternative with worse software
i mainly choose wooting because i like the semi small dutch company that does their own R&D. instead of copying it lazily
Honestly why I picked Wooting and they seem to be pretty receptive to feedback and want to really have the best experience for all
just need to find keycaps that will look good on the raw zinc
but be professional enough it can sit in my office and not be offensive to clients
take a look in #1070668460905988106 for some inspiration
can someone link me to the best set up for 80he competitive settings
Has anyone at Wooting said anything about fixing the current toggle system? If I make a toggle in my FN layer, I need to press FN to toggle it on, but not to toggle it off. So if I were to want to make my E key a toggle in the FN layer, it would immediately toggle off when I press E while typing. This seems like a massive oversight that makes toggles significantly less useful. Also, there's no way to modify the color that the key is when toggled on for some reason, like you can with the caps lock key. I wouldn't think fixing these things would be too hard.
Sounds like something to post in #1141096226884956181 if you wanted it to be seen by the right people
But yeah it has been brought up before I believe
I posted about a week ago in the feedback channel but I don't think anyone saw it. Granted the post was more about making toggles visible in the light indicator, but I mentioned improving the way toggles work with FN layers. Should I make a new post just about that?
Yeah new post for different feedback
Could also look at #š¤ācommunity_dev if you're trying to make your own stuff
Alright, I just posted it. Thanks!
Can't just buy a case?
Awesome, thank you
would It make sense to put a tape mod I saw on videos it kinda has one already
Probably not worth it, 80HE comes with preinstalled PET film which acts as a tape mod.
alr thanks
I'am looking for somoene who can make me pickup macros on my wooting 80he like a tutorial DM me for fortnite
Macros are bannable dude
Atleast in Competitive play
And is just generally frowned upon in the community
Cheater!!!
The 80HE doesnāt support macros natively.
You could use DKS but that wonāt be as effective as a scroll wheel would, so just use your scroll wheel man.
Like everyone else.
Nicely handled by Wooting, could choose a range of options, and I opted to get a partial refund and the ghost case š
I could also wait for the V2 of the painted one, or fully refunded.
yeah they give good options. and yeah full refund and going for a third party case is also a option
i went for a white one
white 3th party one?
My stuff just arrived

should I lube the switches first :D?
Subjective. No one can answer that for you. It's going to take some hours though.
I've lubed one switch in my life and that was more than enough
this was my exact idea, please let me know if it works š
I think IĀ“m going to do it, otherwise i will never š
fml it takes ages
I read that geons need to be lubed because they arent well lubed from factory
Factory lube is decent, but hand lube is always going to be better.
fml i started already going to finish it now
theyāre pretty decently well lubed honestly lol
I think the springs could use a lube but the switch itself was fairly decently lubed already
what do you mean with the sprigns could use a lube :D?
I thought I have to lube the stem only š
my fingers are now property of the USA
For sec i thought you ordered 3 whole keyboards but its just the parts to build it
Lubing springs was enough. It eliminates the spring ping and sound becomes cleaner.
is it just me the 80HE wrist support isn't staying in place well
It's a slab of silicone at the end of the day. Depending on the surface it is on, it will be harder or easier to push around with force.
does it matter what lube I use ? I just bought the stuff wooting offered
and use it on the geons :S
nearly lubed everything already
Iām new to keyboard modding and was wondering if anyone knows if this particular switch is any good/would work with a wooting keyboard and itās software: Mount Tai GT HE Magnetic Switches
They will work, but they're not worth it anymore. Sound and feel won't be as good as other switches.
Is it normal that one LED is a little bit off?
Dang yall what do I purchase white or raw zinc
I canāt make a decisionš
More keycaps seem to go with white
Why are those led so different compared to the others :S?
i have white and it looks really clean, i didn't like how raw looked tbh
depends on what keycaps you'll use and also your setup tho
check wootility, maybe it's some kind of effect
you were rĆght
Set to white now but itās not fully even, Iāve saw a comment that this is normal
Is that true?
yeah it's just that you can see every led separately
mine looks something like that too
ok thank you š
does a usb c switch affect performance, I dont think so right?
man typing is actually fun now š
na you're good
both are fine
ok thanks š
ikr, enjoy it
now I need to find a nice compact usb c switch
there are so many settings, no idea where to start š
personally i did actuation points first, then rapid trigger (if needed) and then checked the key mapping
i don't use rgb
then repeat for each profile you wanna create
thank you š
two more questions though
8k polling rate worth it?
and does visual feedback work with geon switches?
i mean, you have the 8k option, there's no point in not using it, unless you want the more flashy rgb effects and extra brightness
but even using 8khz leds are pretty bright
idk what you mean by visual feedback
Yes, it should work with Geon Raw switches
oh yeah ofc
it works with any switch, it just shows you how far you're pressing down
I want 8k polling and flashy rgb š
never had a rgb keybord before š
it's calibrated automatically so it will always be accurate no matter the switch
you could use flashy rgb in your typing profile, which doesn't need the 8k polling rate
nothing rgb at all.. my pc is completely dark š
and use 8k for games
My setup is black and white and white pc case
if you can, choosing custom keycaps on top of that would make it even better
i have a set from pbtfans and they're really nice
very good quality
where do u live?
in context of where u should look for keycaps
NA
We are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality keycaps on the market so you can have the perfect setup for your build andĀ complete your dream desk atmosphere. With a wide variety of profiles, materials, and colorways to choose from, you are sure to find the one that matches your style!
great store and the hold a lot of popular ones
I love my wooting 80he :D
Me 80he is out for delivery tomorrow š
My keyboard finally crapped out š rip gmmk2 that was modded up the wazoo milled ultem case
I could just replace switches but I wanted that new new ya know
My 80he is almost fully modded, only thing stock is the stabilizers
I got some owlab he tiās and a IBM keycap set
Man this looks clean, makes me want to get it in white
I canāt describe how much I love this thing, I got it today finally
lol, just found out how redicilous the Erupean taxes are... I heard somewhere that Wooting had free shipping for EU and thought it will be very cheap to buy the keeb there... But I was astonished when realized the price of the cart in EU is even more, than the same cart for me in Vietnam. I bought a set of a 80HE + rest wrist + travel case, and with an expensive shipping to VN it all costed ~$316. Whereas the same set costs ~$320 in EU ššš
fair enough
yeah afaik we've never had free shipping
Just recieved my 80HE and gotta say it sounds amazing and plays even better š
First game 94 aim rating based off Leetify, counter starfing felt like cheating tbh
Recent addition for certain countries.
#š£āannouncements message

Bro just became 30% better in whatever game
is this what the plastic one looks like?
That's ghost plastic.
ahh okay
is there any performance difference between the zinc and pcr?
None. It's... it's a case š
ahh okay hahahah
Unless you plan to use it as a melee weapon to knock someone down, it won't make any difference.
the price difference is abit wild tho, i thought there would be some performance difference
yeah fair enough
This is a great movie
waiting
My first Wooting š
insanely clean, love the keycaps
Aww thanks! Theyāre the SA Macrodata Refinement set that Signature Plastics did for the show āSeveranceā, so I thought they were appropriate for work š©āš»
I watched like a good bit but then my Appel TV trial expired ššš
And Iām too cheap to get an actual subscription
Are those purchasable?
I feel you on that - Iām not sure which one of my friends pays for mine because we all share our subs
Now In Stock! For the last four decades, weāve been crafting the iconic SA profile keycaps in Custer, Washington. The high profile and sculptured top is synonymous with many iconic terminals including Data General āDasherā which inspired the prop designers of the TV show Severance. It seemed only fitting that we'd make
thanks
This just turned up at my door, thank you so much it feels amazing, so premium š„¹

Congratulations - have fun with it!
I'm just waiting for the dust cover, then setting up the stock 80he, buying mods next week
Oh damn you didnt buy the drop variant dashers, you actually bought the legit ones from the TV show
What a build
I saw - Keyboard enthusiasts border on the insane at times.
I definitely think $200 for keycaps is too much, severance be damned
But $499 for that is also insane
Thatās why I was upset I missed the DROP MT3 Dasher keycap set because it was like maybe $100 and looked almost the same
What number pad is that?
Might honestly copy this setup haha
Keychron Q0 Max
Itās heavy AF just like the kb
And I donāt disagree about the price of the keycaps⦠I winced a bit (ok a lot) but blue is my favorite color so I figured Iād be happy with the look and I am
New wooting80he gang šarrived just before I had to head back to work so took it in with me
Very based
that case is so nice š
but I“ll buy a GT-80 case I think#
not sure yet
did someone buy that housing?
Same, next week š
is there a site for finding cool custom cases?
I dont think there are many options besides KDBfans
You've got... three? options. Holy80, Bone80 and the GT80
Or make your own with github files..
holy 80 looks really good
true
whats that type of keyscaps named? https://kbdfans.com/products/mtnu-800-r2
Inspiration Hold on to your 8-bits, and travel back to 1979 with the MTNU 800 keycap set. Inspired by the Atari 800, this set shines with the centered legends and the spherical profile of MTNU. The soft brown base color, the vintage cream legends, and the orange gradient accents all combine to bring this heritage look
You have name in link
nono sorry I mean the form "style" of those keycaps
you see how its rounded kind of?
That's the MTNU profile
do other companys call it mtnu as well?
Na it's exclusive to GMK that specific profile
do you maybe know a universal word instead :D?
If you want something rounded that's more universal you could try look into xda profile keycaps
DSA or MSA as well
Prefect, thank you š !
i just got the 80he, is there a more indepth tutorial on the rgb section of the keyboard and more ways to customize it?
as in like, can i make a custom wave color?
GT80 is pretty nice, but compared to frost dk if its a me thing, collects dust noticeably
Unplug and replug the keyboard
Thatās worked thanks
What's 'Alternative Press Behavior' ? in the Advanced section when you choose SOCD ?
He didnāt try that first lol
Is it hard to setup an 80he? (Im asking cuz its coming tommorw)

I've already posted it on community support, but does anyone know what happens if the zinc alloy coating comes off here?
Do I have to remove or keep the black foam pad in my new wooting 80HE case?
Up to you. The foam's there to dampen the noise from the keys
@buoyant solstice , Do you know if it can be a problem because of eletric static/conductivity?
I don't see how?
I mean, the backside of the board is touching it
My 80he is finally coming tomorrow, the shipping took so long
Crisppppp
Same here after one respond, he/she is dumping me
Man this is so sick
Could we get the name of the keycaps?
The case is am assuming white zinc?
very insightful man
Yeah my order is on hold
What's the issue exactly? Your keyboard doesn't work at all ?
Are you using Chrome?
did u allow ur browser to scan the devices
this happened to me aswell
am sorry I don't remember how I solved this
If you are using Chrome go in Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Additional permissions > HID devices > Default behavior and choose "Sites can ask to connect to HID devices"
Alternatively, you can use the desktop Wootility app instead of the browser version.
it is white zinc with
Taihao keycap
https://shop.tai-hao.com/products/t22rb602
And wooting x TTC RGB switches
Thank you
im not sure if this is the right channel
But is there any reason to buy Zinc over plastic on the 80HE if i dont care about the sound and just how pressing they keys feels?
Then you won't feel any difference.
A metal case is mostly about heft (aka. not pushing it around as easily on the table) and the sound keys make when resonating against the case.
i have my keyboard on a big mousepad so pushing it around mostly isnt an issue? i guess
Worst case you can always buy a metal case down the road. It's a pretty easy process to swap it around.
a friend told me it feels like higher quality
but i dont want to spend an extra $100 just for something i wont notice
thank you for your help tho!
I came a step closer to making my decision
came in today
If you buy a complete the case is 45 retail and itās pretty nice if ur gonna be moving it here and there
I mean plastic cases inherently have a little bit of flex to them. Zinc doesnāt. Also, if you hold the plastic case next to the zinc one itās a night and day difference. One feels like a typical keyboard. The other feels like a brick.
^ can confirm thing is hefty chonky boy
so i assume the casing being a brick is better
To some people prefer the slight tone changes it provides while others like a brighter tone that plastic might help bring out but if you donāt care about the weight then go plastic IMO espically if you donāt need a travel case
Also if you buy the zinc one it comes with a travel case so youād want to factor that in with the $
I think the plastic has a deeper tone than zinc
My main reason for the zinc tbh thing could also double as a home defense
also should i buy the keycaps in my language or get the standard ones?
Does it even matter
Fair. You could def give someone a concussion with it
Whatever you desire, everything is programmable in wootility
i dont really look at my keyboard at all and i can just change the Y to Z
so i dont really think its worth the extra $30 right
oh nvm i have to buy them anyway
there is no standard keycapsš¤¦āāļø
I hope that in the future Wooting will make a mouse of the same quality
a Zinc mouse!
Zinc g502 weighs 3Lbs
One of the best things I've ever done was switching to a lightweight mouse
Same
still don't know which i'm getting in a few days
Get wooting
its the same role for every board?
it says wooting80he
I think u might have chosen a wrong keyb when u were customizing ur experience for this server
you mean that?
huh?
we only have channels for recently released or upcoming products. once a device has been out long enough the channel gets axed usually in favor of people just talking in other channels with appropriate topics regarding what you wanna talk/ask about.
WOOOOOOting
Ugh I still canāt decide on keycaps for a raw zinc case
do you have to get a specific kind of keycaps for the 80he? not sure if that's a dumb question i'm kinda new to this
Nah, you can use any style as long as they arenāt something weird like low profile
MX, GMK, SA, MY3 etc
oh ok
also will the new closed bottom switches work with the 80he?
coming to the 60he v2
Yes
well that's awesome
all HE switches that work on the 60HE work on the 2HE/80HE too p sure
yeah I do get that
I was wondering since they are built a little differently right
good to know :)
Finally got this for my birthday today š
cs2 for sure š„¹
bet, have fun :)
hi, has anyone had issues with their usb c port disconnecting when the keyboard is moved? seems like my port is abit loose, looking for advice if anyone has had this issue before
80HE?
yea 80he!
Sometimes, you may need to fully disassemble your keyboard, whether it's to swap out stabilizers or replace components due to a defect. In this video, we'll guide you through the process.

Your JST connector is likely loose. Pop it open and check the connection.
oh man, will do that then, if it is will i hve to do soldering etc? or is there an easy fix for it?
anyway appreciatethe link, ill check it ouy first
No. Itās the cable connection that can pop loose between the daughterboard for usb connection and the main pcb.
Itās a little plug
OHH that little plug, ok ill try to replug it and see if theres a difference
Oooh my god she's soo beautiful!! I didn't expect it to sound and look so FABULOUS š¤©š¤©š¤©
I like that soft fade after pressing the key by default, I will not even change the basic RGB effect
btw Wooting has very good shipping partners, it arrived in 9 days to Vietnam... I ordered a couple of times some stuff from EU and it took about 3 weeks to come
looks beautiful
I do think the basic rgb effect will get old after some time haha
but congratulations š
I had been using the very same effect (RGB from the left to the right) for 2 years on the previous keeb.... But we'll check
Thank you!
I am not sure, but can't you save money, if order the keyboard with only 1 set of keycaps?..
like if choose 60he module + case + only one keycaps set
fair enough
thanks for your help btw! its definitely better now, but still getting a disconnect here and there when i move my kb position, definitely not as flaky before though
the JIS layout is so good, wish it was more popular! only downside is small backspace, better enter, spacebar and extra key.
Plus bonus kana
Got my 80he today feels like a brick compared to my 60he and its only plastic can't imagine the zinc case
Hey guys how many of you write a lot with the 80he? For gaming I have no issues. Now that I write a little more, I find myself lifiting up and floating my wrists while typing which gets difficult quite quickly and makes the wrists hurt.
Any one has the same experience here? Does a wrist wrest fix that?
It'll feel like steel
And that's pretty metal
Hey got a Quick question bc I am still on Version 5.0.2 in Wootility v5 for my 80he is the New 5.1.0 Beta 6 stable? Or should I stay I only see betas Last Versions I was Away for a time
Doesnt happen to me, but I assume that a wrist wrest would help quite a bit with that.
Does anyone have any picture of a keyboard with a half pudding and half normal pbt keys combination
i never really owned a keyboard with plastic casing
is the 80HE plastic light enough to a point where it keeps sliping away when clicking frequently on it?
or is this just on really smooth tables
nah, it wont slip because the rubber feet on it is goated

Youāll love it
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I saw a reseller in Australia today. Is this just someone who has imported a few units in bulk or is wooting reselling with someone here?
We don't have any official/partnered resellers.
But we do sell to companies that resell them on their end. I don't recall any in Australia though.
Cool, thanks. I thought it would likely be just a company who imported a few directly to resell themselves.
Check here: https://wooting.io/authorised-resellers
Itās a newish page we have
This might be a silly question, but are there any plans for a new version of the 80HE or an even better model from Wooting? Iād like to buy one, but Iād rather not if something new is already in the works. š
just got my 80he with the ghost pcr case and i was curious what other cases are there available aside from the ones from wooting and that kbdfan's gt-80 keyboard case what other cases are there available for the 80he?
No, there's no reason to make 80HE v2 or anything like that.
We haven't announced any plans, no.
KBDfans Holy80
AIM Bone80
ah thank you so much š
Is there an aftermarket cover for the 80HE that I can use to protect it from dust when itās not in use?
Thank You so much!
But I no longer see an option for the 338 Ć 129 Ć 18 mm dimensions.
that one is a custom request you have to message, although i believe some aliexpress sellers just sell 80he specific covers these days
Dust covers for Wooting 60HE/80HE
Just found this š
Keyboard shouldnāt be disconnecting at all. How to you have it connected to your computer

What are the requirements for me to become an authorized dealer of Wooting?
Please use the contact form linked above.
I contacted them before and they said Wooting is not considering having an authorized dealer for the time being. I consulted them around July.
Then I suppose you'll have to contact them again.
Authorized dealer of wooting?
Isint the whole point that wooting runs their own store / not on Amazon or other websites lol?
They have a few already
It is easier for customers to shop locally in some regions and countries that we can't easily sell in - like China and India.
Hello there! Does using the holy80 change a lot the sound profile?
Yes.
@north cosmos most important part is it's still a heavy keyboard
And f- me, my keyboard is filthy
not bad
Yea, I like it more than the Zinc actually
Are there any coupon codes for the Wooting 80HE? š The 23% VAT in the EU is making the price a bit painful.
No discount codes
Eh, not really either afaik
With the Holy60, the sound profile stays the same but it just changes the way it sounds lmao
Wait what? Iām confused XD
Yeah not sure how to explain it.
When you have music in a room playing with the door closed, itās a bit muffled
with the door open, itās louder and clearer
for the Holy60 (and 80 as well) itās kinda the same but not really clearer, if your switches have any chatter itāll be more pronounced.
Precisely
Gp80 a safer choice I guess then?
To be more specific, since its got holes, it doesnāt have an enclosure for the sound to resonate as much, but also doesnāt muffle any noise. So both good and bad.
Or neither good or bad
Justā¦differentā¦but same
Since youāre going with a deeper switch (with not much chatter) anyway, itās not that big of a deal.
Look I think we both know youāre pretty much my keyboard sensei now along with jed
lol
So which one should I go for?
My heart is troubled sensei. I love the holy80 but Iām a sober middle aged man and not sure it matches anything else in my office
May I showcase my battle shed so you might more accurately judge?
Of course
Hmmmmmmm
The Holy80 does look interesting here but I think the GT-80 would look cleaner.
The groves in the top case of the Holy80 catch a lot of dust as well and are kinda a pain to clean.
Thatās what I think too, sensei, the holy 80 might be too bold and risky
Are you using/planning to use a wrist rest with your 80HE as well?
Yeah, I donāt remember/know if the 80HEās wrist rest matched up with the GT-80 or Holy80.
It kinda works. The stock case is 346mm wide and the GT-80 is 344.7mm wide.
but then the Holy80 is 359.5mm wide š
The thing the gripes me about the GT80 is the two tone ugly brass
And the fact that itās $30 extra for shipping
Just got my wooting
hey guys, I'm not sure what I'm looking for but I need keypress to be "lighter", not sure how to explain that
I feel like either keycap should have lower height or switch should require less force to be fully pressed, is it something I can mod in 80he?
Spring swapping.
can I just replace whole switch?
and how do I check what springs I have in my 80he?>
If you find a switch that comes with a lighter spring? Sure.
Your 80HE has Lekker60V2 switches preinstalled.
Is the key going to "bounce" back faster?
