yep. You can change it to your own tape mod layers if you prefer, but there is a sheet on the back of the pcb already

you could do more but that's just personal preference and honestly i don't think it's worth generally

some switches sound worse with tape mod

tape mod can make the switches sound more poppy, which isn't always what you want when the pitch of HE switches tends to be higher already

spacebar best path is adding some spacebar foam off aliexpress/amazon for $3 (although you may receive a wooting with spacebar foam preapplied if you happen to get lucky on your batch)

we added in spacebar foam stock from the factory for newer batches, so some customers have been receiving that new batch with the foam already installed

you are bound to run into issues if you type using the analog input profile

you need to swap to the typing profile

the keyboard cant read your intent in whether you want to type in chat or move around in the same game

or any program for that matter, since it has no knowledge of what happens on your computer

the keyboard software is only there to configure the firmware and thats it

so it doesnt have access to what you are doing on your machine or anything

changing profiles is easy enough, just hit the mode key or use one of the hotkeys to change profile

One is a generic one, the other is specifically Microsoft's XBox controller driver. They can behave differently in some apps. And trying to type while using an analog profile is... challenging.

That'd be the game constantly changing between controller only and mouse+keyboard only. Like... up to sixty times a second.

The odd reason is that to toggle this on and off, the keyboard needs to unplug and replug.

So if it was added to profiles, your keyboard would stop working for a few seconds every time you changed profile.

I like the Gateron MJ switches. Haven't tried the Pros with the 20mm spring, but a little more stability in the key,, less key wobble on the stem. How's the KOM RGBs? They look similar in specs and they are from Wooting

And oddly I'm getting shine on my Double Shot PBT key cap set

dont think so, if you disconnected it early it should be fine, only real issue is the sugar will get very sticky

water is fine on electronics when unpowered. although if it got into any stabilizers. you might have to clean them and relube them if they get sticky

not really, i just got the wooting kit with my 80he from their site and it has served me well

i did some switches i spring swapped and some stabilizers and they are still nice a couple months later

the switches are mounted to a plate ontop of the PCB, i highly recommend taking those apart before you pull the switches. makes it 10 times easier

Since you like the Jades and value stability; Raptor V2s would be most suitable. They’re very stable, have a similar sound profile to that of the Jades and have a longer spring (19.5mm).

getting a nice even coating without drips and paint stripes can be tricky if you're not experienced with spraypainting

I'd be more concerned with it messing with anything electrical- god forbid you mess up, paint where you shouldn't then you end up with a shorted board

Hey more options is usually a good thing, Hong Kong warehouse also only stocks a limited amount of items so chances are if you ordered anything that wasn't just a pre-assembled keyboard it would come from the Netherlands

Have you tried either of the new Wooting TTC KOM switches? I'm thinking those might be a good option, also. EDIT: Also like the Geon RAW specs... sheesh

KoMs aren’t worth it, especially if you’re not gonna hand lube them. Raw HEs are a bit outdated already. Either go with Raptor V2s or something like URStudio Ice Ultras, those are somewhat close to the sound profile of Jades as well.

After a few sound test vids the TTC KOM POMs seem pretty cool. Overall sound profile isn't that big a deal for me. I'll probably be using it with either my zinc or ghost case. What are all the caveats with the TTC KOM switches from Wooting? EDIT: Oh will it work with the 80HE? I see on the Divinikey page it's not mentioned but some other Wooting is

Raptor v2s have less top stem wobble than KOMs, bottom wobble is similar.
Also Raptors will sound and feel better than KOMs.

KOMs aren't worth it anymore, Raptor v2s are 2x cheaper

they dont actively mention it, but they are even testing it for white zinc too

I would say, given how Wooting has been treating the issues so far, get the keyboard... by the time the issue happens (you have 4 years of warranty) they will be able to get you a fix

I'm getting private keycaps, as shown in the photo on AliExpress. So I might find better ones. But these aren't of the lowest quality. I wrote to support to find out how to return/replace them. Should I wait? I know I won't have any particular problems. In the mod kit, you just need to get the plates and the ISO foam. (ISO EN on keyboard, windows on Italian)
