The pcr version won’t just randomly break but if you’re worried about longetivity and you got the budget then the zinc alloy might be worth. i’ve had my 60HE for a while in the same stock plastic case and there’s not a single bit of damage to it so i wouldn’t worry about the plastic version breaking tbh

Not sure if this is the right channel. Looking into upgrading from the 60HE+ to the 80HE. On the website it lists the Zinc Alloy - White as an option but it isn't showing as an option to actually order it. Not sure if they just haven't added it to fulfill pre-orders first

There were production issues with the White Zinc in particular, and so they've halted the ability to order them and gave the customers who did put their initial orders through the choice of keeping the "v1", or waiting for a refreshed "v2" with modified changes to solve the issues.

As a result of this, I would imagine they'd need to get through the initial backlog of these White Zinc orders before allowing more people to place orders through, but I could be wrong

Thanks to you & @polar mulch for helping me decide which switches to take for my 80HE!

I got it last week and been testing it out as much as I can in my free time and the L45 V2 feel amazing in the metal case.
Gone are the days of needing a lot of force (for a keyboard) to press the keys and here are the days of lightning fast key activation with no force needed whatsoever to activate the keys and the feeling to have zero latency delays.

To give a little spoiler about how I am feeling with the 80HE:

• The 8000Hz with the 0.1mm key activation on the Wooting is just out of this f'ing world* vs the 8000Hz & 1.6mm key activation on the Corsair.
• The Wooting feels instant while the Corsair now feels... laggy. LOL.

TTC POM switches have least amount of wobble, wooting sells them

but they need to be hand lubed, because theyre completely dry

Geon Raws are another option, they have better wobble than lekkers but worse than ttc poms

I don't know if it's required for Wooting boards, as mine has yet to arrive. But you might try to recalibrate the board as Hall Effect boards can get wonky with magnetism depending on environment your board is in

I'll add, I once had almost exact same problem (random disconnects and reconnects) with a mouse from glorious, as it turned out they supplied mice with a weak cable, so this problem was solved by replacing the cable itself.

But in general, yes, it sounds like the keyboard lacks power. You can dig around on the Internet and find similar problems. And could be power settings in Windows also.

Hi everyone - I'm looking at a Wooting 80HE and new to the keyboard scene. I've tried to do some digging on the website, and also take a look at the web software demo but figured I'd just ask here.

So the Wooting 80HE is my preferred layout but has one problem- I'd prefer HOME and END keys instead of Pg Up and Pg Down.

Is it possible to remap these keys - and can I actually remap keys to what I want in the software?

Would it also make sense for me to build the keyboard instead of the prebuilt version if this is something I would do?

Hope this makes sense - thanks all for any input and feedback 🙂

Reason being is I need to use both keys for work, and I would prefer to have direct keys instead of having to remember the Fn key hotkey equivalent 🙂

the polling rate switch is mainly there to switch between usb full-speed and usb hi-speed since some machines have trouble with the hi-speed that 8k uses rather than the fact that it's polling 8k

Have you checked that you fully pressed down the keycap into both the switch and the stabilisers? Be sure to press down with decent force in the middle and both edges of the keycap. With the wider keys that use stabilisers, it can get stuck/feel muddy to push if it isn't properly seated

You are building up static.
What you wear also may incur static charges by material rubbing on skin.
And if you environment is very dry, static will build up

so I've had sticky L-Shift since the beginning and thought it should be an easy fix (apparently it's a common issue!)

Most likely cause are some dampening pads below the stabilizer. To remove those you gotta screw the PCBA apart, unscrew the stab to lift it and peel it off.

Definitive answer? No it's a very likely theory. Suffice to say we're no longer putting these pads below the stabs, because there's been a few too many issues with them.

It will affect the sound a bit, cause that's what they're there to do in the first place.

Now it's fixed but when that happened I was watching twitch and randomly my backspace stopped working I thought it was some windows problem so I restarted my PC and it still wasnt working, I went to wootility and thought it was some kind of bug so I restarted to the fabric settings and it was working for like 10 minutes but it happened again, it looked like all the active profiles had no text on those keys but there was one inactive profile with all the keys listed so I made it active and after that every new profile had those keys

Hmmm, most of the time your profiles will just use the remap keys from your first onboard profile, i.e. "linked". So then it was your first onboard profile that was messed up for whatever reason and the rest followed
