Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm having issues understanding how to properly use some language specific characters with the wooting80 in my language layout

So I use the PT-PT keyboard layout and one of the characters I use, for example this one: ^ would under normal circumstances be inserted when pressing the keys shift + ~ (tilde). Then, whether you pressed space or followed with a vowel, it would display correctly, i.e: â

But instead, ã <- i get this.

The issue goes a bit deeper, apparently if I type in the above but only let go off shift last (shift + tilde + A, shift is the last to release) then I will get Â, which is technically correct as this combination would produce uppercased A with the ^ character.

However, the expected behavior would be (basing myself off my standard experience I guess) for me to get the â on shift+tilde. Is there a solution for this?

I got jade pros for the 80 and prefer them to the stock lekker. they are like cherry mx silvers in terms of lightness and travel IMO, very good for gaming.

Hey! I figured it out. I can't explain it, but just having the Wootomation app running will 'scramble' normal functionality of my dead keys. You can disable it, disable everything, delete all macros - it won't matter. Closing it will allow keyboard input to work as expected.

So, not keyboard related, but still (likely!) wooting related.

i kinda like the app but it's out of scope for this, I'm guessing creating a post in community_support would be the next step?

when i inserted my first keycap set on my 80he space bar got stuck but after a bit of hard pressing it was alright for 2 months until now, i just changed keycap set and EVERYTIME i press space it just sits there... what can i do?

Could be a few reasons:

• You changed the keycap, that's the first place to look. Is the new keycap the right size? Does it only happen with this new keycap set?
• Is it related to the switch or the stabilizer for the spacebar?
• Does it get hard stuck or just a little sticky-stuck? If it's just sticky, it could be that lube from the stabilizers leaked out onto the sound dampening pad below them, soaking it.

Main toughie for the 80he assembly imo is the amount of screws and properly having the JST connector plugged in without it being loose, but the guide does a good job at giving all the info you generally need

Bad usb port? I had issues with custom cable before and only wooting cable worked, but as I updated my pc and motherboard and all usb are now 3.1 or similar, all cables work in all ports and wootility can find keyboard all fine.

You should be able to get separate paint brushes for lube pretty cheaply, I bought the Wuque studio titanium switch puller and it’s done right by me (shouldn’t need a key cap puller since Wooting default puller comes with switch and cap pulling sides)
