the lube isn’t supposed to dry up or anything. the issue is that dirt and grime can get in and over time mess with how the switches move. but realistically you probably won’t have to worry about relubing the keyboard for at least 4 years.

Hello everyone. I have had my 80He since today and am very happy with it so far. But I still have one or two configuration problems with the Wootility.

Except in the predefined “Typing Profile”, the Backspace, Enter or Shift keys do not work for me. Neither in the Rapid Trigger profile nor in the user-defined profiles.

Is this intentional or is there a “trick” that I am missing?

I would also like to deactivate the afterglow of the keys after pressing it in the “Typing Profile”. Unfortunately, I can't find the corresponding option for this either.

It would be nice if you could help me here.

To get rid of the "afterglow", click the X next to the effect layer, presumably Trail, seen here on the lower right

For your backspace not working, that seems strange. I'd check the key mapping on those profiles.

its not remap related but most likely a calibration issue with too low of a rapid trigger/actuation point

so the keys never read an actuation or deactuation

Wootomation is only software based and calling windows apis, this can be "blocked" by games/anticheats. The keyboard itself does not have the common macro functionality found on other keyboards.

you can swap between profiles with mode key

The Keyboard itself can store up to 4 different profiles on its own memory. Those can be swapped to with the mode key or via fn key + mapped profile key.
There is no need to autostart the software.
Only thing you need to open the software for is doing settings obviously and when you want to swap a profile that you have on your pc with one thats on the keyboard.

Abs and pbt are different materials and absolutely make a difference in sound and feel. I always say go with pbt (preferably double-shot) keycaps over abs because it’s objectively a better material. Only real downside is pbt keycaps are harder to manufacture so defects are more likely (still uncommon)

If you go abs you will definitely have a harder time finding custom keycap sets, most sellers do those exclusively with pbt, ceramic, metal, or resin

Gosh, I think I broke 5 switch pullers already trying to pull out even 1 switch, about to give up on trying to mod it 😅. Anyone got tips on pulling the switches out? Seems unusually tight to get even one out.

Doing a little wiggle helps with pulling them out a bit, otherwise you can disassemble the board and pop them out from the bottom of the plate

Hey Mango! Thanks for the reply..a bit new to working on keyboards in general. Would I have to take off the little PET film, then unscrew and then push them out from the bottom with your fingers? Did try wiggling them...even to some extreme of trying to yank it out on one switch just to see how much it may take..to no avail..so maybe I'll try the bottom method

Its mainly just a lot of screws when it comes to the disassembly, you do have to remove the already applied tapemod on the bottom to get to the screws but just keep in mind the JST connector and not unscrewing the stabilizer screws which shouldn’t be too bad as the stab screws are a bit smaller than what holds everything else to the pcb, when you have access to the switch plate you pretty much just pop them out from the bottom with your fingers

I ACTUALLY figured it out this time, it was the polling rate being set to 8k in the settings, it was causing my keys to bug out a little bit, I set it to 1k and it's fine now

Nah the switch plate is what really holds them in which is that white piece on top of the pcb, when you get the switch plate out youll push on the bottom of the actual switch to pop em out

Yeh you either have to have the absolute sloppiest counter strafing technique or specifically train to exploit SOCD to really gain an advantage in tac shooters using it.
It probably has the biggest effect on Overwatch where the developers forgot to give characters momentum and called it a feature.
In pretty much every other game I just think SOCD behavior is more of an intuitive QOL feature than an advantage.

Tbh I enjoy SOCD the most in PVE and single player games.

What does matter is that the USB port gets enough power. Use the provided cable. Consider trying a different port, avoiding USB hubs, and if necessary reducing LED brightness to reduce power use

Hmm maybe the actuation is too low. I had a case on k70 max n k70 pro til they updated it to where it goes .1 I tried it very low it was lighting up the whole board in pressed keys. I figured out even wind or current hitting the board will set it off. That’s how sensitive HE keyboards are. Maybe are setting the keys getting pressed on higher actuation. Might have wind coming in or something on the board in certain way

I think I figured out what the issue is with my keyboard, sometimes when I'm pressing the key past the actuation point, it stops registering the key, is there a setting that could cause this or is it just an issue with the keyboard itself?

It doesn't matter if rapid trigger is enabled/disabled, 8k polling is enabled/disabled and I've tried factory resetting it and just using the default profile too
