hey y'all I got my 80he delivered yesterday, but I've had some issues so far. I've had a couple issues with stuff like holding the shift key not staying held down, or I feel like a key press doesn't get registered until i press it again.

But the main issue is that yesterday, the first day of using it, I had it just hold down the s key indefinitely, pressing it or pressing other keys didn't fix it and the only thing that did was unplugging it and plugging it back in. And then today, playing osu my keys just completely stopped registering halfway through a map, and no presses worked until I unplugged the keyboard and plugged it back in again.

I presume I should start with the cable, any recommendations for another one to try than the one that came with the keyboard? is this a common issue?

the shift key: unfortunately it seems the poron pads they used are soaking up the lube, so calder said to just remove them if they give you trouble, as they are finding a replacement material for future batches

for the shift key issue it sounds like you're talking about shift lifting off when trying to walk in games probably right? Turn off rt on shift, that happens to a lot of people because they accidentally slight lift off when shift walking due to the sensitivity of rt

I have rt turned off completely and a 1mm activation point, so that's not the problem. I presume it's the issue with the poron pads as mentioned above

Hello hello! After a couple of months owning the wooting 80he, I noticed that it is disconnecting from the PC if I slightly touch the tip of the usb-c cable connected at the wooting.

It seems like the usb-connector inside of it is "dancing" a bit and moving from side to side and up and down.

I did not force or have been plugging and unplugging it since it's stationed at my desk.

It does not seem to be the cable problem, but the actual usb-c port on the keebs

Anyone experiencing this? What should I do?

It's not about the air itself. It's about the exchange of heat that's occuring rapidly. The same reason why your windows will fog up on the warm inside.

You are correct that hot air generally holds more water - And that's the air that's being transitioned rapidly heating up the cold board.

Really not worth arguing here, but it really is about the air itself. As you mentioned, the warm side air holds more moisture, so when it comes into contact with a cold surface the moisture condenses. I think you get it, but text is sometimes hard to communicate over.

So for the same reason, bringing a cold object into a warm environment will cause moisture to condense onto it. But I stand by my "cold does not mean moist" statement, because it's just true 🤷

There's no real perceptible difference between 1 kHz and 8 kHz polling rate, it's more personal preference.
1 kHz is already a 1ms response time

My 80HE randomly started turning off the LED on bootup - the only fix is to go into wootility and reset 😬 anyone else experience this? It doesn't just shut off either, it does a fade and if I hit mode it will show the LED at full brightness but fade to off immediately.

I had also originally planned to continue using the original main batch for a portion of the SKUs, but I saw some confusion earlier where people were expecting their batch to change even though I wasn't planning to do so for that specific SKU.

A PH1 screwdriver and a bit of time and patience.

You screw the plastic case screws out, carefully unclip and remove the top, lift the PCBA and disconnect the JST cable, then do this in reverse again on the new case.
