but when i turn it off again and re-enable my rgb it feels like tachyon is still enabled

PSA: For anyone who has received their 80HE, and noticed that some of the keys (particularly the space bar) is "sticking" when the key is firmly pressed down, I think I may have found the culprit that's causing that.

The little white pads that are being used below the stabilizers will become slightly sticky if any of the lube from the stabilizers leaks onto them. When the key is pressed down, the bottom of the stabilizer stem makes contact with that pad and gets stuck for a brief moment.

I fixed the issue today by peeling off those white pads and replacing them with pieces of band-aid. There's probably other materials that could also be used, but that's just what I had available at the time.

No more sticking keys!

The key pops back up even after sticking, there's just a brief moment where it gets stuck for second. So like, holding down Left Shift when sprinting in an FPS game, when you go to let go of it you may feel the key not pop up instantly.

It's like the key "catches" for a second, and I wasn't noticing it so much in normal typing. But in games I would notice it.

It doesn't seem like it's happening to everyone, so it's probably just a hit or miss thing depending on the lube that was used.

Mine were, yes. I noticed it slightly when I first got the board but didn't think much of it. Then after lubing them myself I noticed it still so it made me start tearing the board apart to see why. On my 60HE it never happened, but they didn't come with the pads.

I did notice with the actuation indicator, it only goes up to 3.25mm for the RAWs. After that it just does a big jump to 4.0 mm

RAW officially goes from 0.1-3.3 with 3.4mm full travel

Edit: It self calibrated and now the actuation indicator is fine

Unplug the keyboard and swap the switch

Initial Calibration - Plug the keyboard in and wait 5 seconds to complete power on calibration (this is an initial reading of all switches)

Deep Calibration - This calibration occurs over time (Roughly 30-60 seconds with Tachyon mode enabled or roughly 2-5 minutes for non-tachyon depending on the model of your keyboard)

End of Press Calibration - The easiest way to calibrate the end of press is to press many times on the side of the key. You can't press too slowly and you need to give it a solid bottom out. Try to keep the presses consistent and steady (.5 seconds to full press and .5 seconds to full release).

Completing 20-30 presses should be sufficient to fully calibrate.

Package was good, during the reassembly I've noticed that you can assemble the module in a way where it can end up being bowed, in my case taking out the bow out of the module was enough to make the case sufficiently straight and sit flush

bigger keys = heavyer for consistancy you need than difrent springs

and to get to a good usability i would at least use 80 to 100 springs so you need to remove all switches from the keyboard wich is a hell on the 80 they are not plug n play

i've touched upon it above, in my case specifically it was the module that was bowed, that bowed module exerts a force on the case which lead to feet being lifted

the module is basically a sandwich consisting of pcb, gasket and a switch plate, all of this is held together by a lot of screws, depending on how you assemble that sandwich you might end up with a module that is bowed one way or another (think concave or convex), or you can assemble it straight

now, i do not know if the case itself not being perfectly straight is something out of spec or the norm (plastics often deform after coming out of the mold due to shrinkage and internal stresses, even more so for long and straight pieces), but messing around with the module and making it straight was good enough of a fix

It's not, the top plate connection is above, not at the bottom. It's not visible on the screen. Problem is that the bottom plate is not straight

the vids i've seen were all black zinc, but that doesn't really tell us anything, maybe it tells us that black is the color of choice for most people, i dunno lol

but i'd advice talking to support first if you think you might have an issue with your keyboard

what worked for me will not necessarily work for someone else, if your issue seems the same does not mean it is the same, etc

Module makes it infinitely easier if you're interested in doing your own tape mod, it might be a little difficult without Wooting's support videos but it seems fairly straight forward
