I work as QC for building bridges and for sure we quadruple check every single step and verify it’s following the plans and if anything is out of tolerance or doesn’t seem right we always report it every day on a log. I wonder how QC is checked for factories for fast moving parts like that

The factory has the best intentions, cooperates with us very well, and scrutinizes. But end of the day, you can’t prevent everything.

The white paint, we went through all the samples and in the end approved it. We never stopped to think to try scratching it with a metal object, nor was there an expectation this was a thing in general.

I tested few other painted white cases, they have the same thing. But I’ve also tested a few other painted white samples at the show here with a different technique that don’t have it at all. This is coming from a keyboard enthusiastic show.

Always a lot to learn here, they’ve been through a lot of different types of coating/paint methods, and are further in their skill/knowledge.

We've had three new hires for CS in the past week.

There are different stations between assembly lines to check on specific issues and run basic or automated tests (like a visual (camera) inspector for the Keycaps, to see if it’s all installed correct)

When we encounter issues with delivered units and it happened at least twice, we make a report, factory does a full analysis to find the reason and also a conclusion what will change to prevent it in the future.

This can be a QC and/or minor product modification.

That’d be cool but also would have over complicated the electronic design for us. It would not be worth the entire development time required.

Because what we make is all Electronic design, product design, device and pc software is made in-house and nothing is built off the shelve, we require to do a lot of the development for new things ourselves.

We’ve never done touch type of devices before.

This means it consumes a lot of time figuring out a good way to do it. But after we’ve done it once, we build a great asset and are able to quickly improve on it.

I had not considered touch volume before, but would’ve also rejected because of above and It complicated the PCB design, losing the simplicity.

Thats probably because they are using ACI logtistix who are god awful. My 60he a year or so ago just went radio silent on updates in shippingand it just showed stuck in compton. I tried to get in touch with them through their website but no options for phone or chat or anything of course so i started creating daily tickets referencing each previous day's ticket number until i got some sort of response. It was a generic "we know how frustrating it is waiting for a package" like this is 2005 ebay or something. eventually the package arrived but it was almost a month.

My 60HE+ came in a plastic bag, did have some dents on the box. Does kill the bliss unboxing mood. At least I was upgraded to the HE+ before orderd was shipped. So that was good stuff.
