same thing happened to me :/ was planning creating a support ticket
well, also got the wrist rest... will see what an abomination my package is gonna be... hopefully they put my order in a box considering i have a module, case, wrist rest, caps, and 2 switch packs.
i think it would be better to dispute on the website tbh
yes as per the msg I linked
thank you for linking that post. was looking for something incase my switches are damaged
They weren't trying to save on shipping costs. According to the Wooting guys they were SUPPOSED to be using boxes to ship in.
same bro, at least i got usps which seems to be doing a better job than ups
yeah i read the post after making my post
wasnt trying to come off as them skimping or anything
The USPS orders seem to be fine. So far I think it's just UPS that's been fucking them up.
usps expedited for me as well. Should get it by 5th oct according to the tracking. you?
This bad boy gonna put a substantial dent in my desk when my rappy ain’t snappy enough
imperial units 🤮
Crazy how heavy they are.
okay thanks
Rage bait 😘
Forreal. Gives it a nice premium feel
Any defects on your white case?
Not that I could see, no.
any defects/dirt on the led bar?
also do all the leds work?
Haven’t plugged it in yet. Unboxed and inspected paint. Will check the rest tomorrow when I sit down to game.
You have more self control than me. As soon as I count my switches that will inevitably be strewn around the bag I'm plugging it in straight away to test it lol.
i wish i ordered this before the shutdown idrc about small chips 😭
Before what shutdown?
Hunger was calling my name. Also, my switches were not thrown around. Box the came in was ripped and screw cap was a little loose but no thrown around
Oh nice, that's good.
They removed the white zinc alloy from purchase because of potential paint chips on arrival and scratching until they can fix the paint method
10/10 Would recommend when it comes back
did they actually remove it for now?
Yes
no raw either?
Idk anything about raw
is there a guide on how to swap switches on 80he
but i also feel like we are getting kind of a "non answer" from wooting rn when it comes to isssues with the cases for the 80HE? it kinda goes against the transparency thing but maybe they are taking their time on coming witha response
they should have known about the scratching after they recieved their first samples right?
yeah they shouldve
cause if i am not mistaken, all white units are affected by that right?
again i really dopnt want to make a huge deal of all this but I simply want to understand what happpened
i don't believe it is a manufacturing issue. it is a process issue
i wish wooting went with the 75% so i could use some other cases
that is what i inferred from the live stream.
75% is non standard
Someone is gonna make 3rd party 80he cases eventually surely
still wouldnt be able to because of the led bar
there are tens of cases that fit certain PCBAAs
no i dont think so the 77.5% lay out is way too specific
yeah i was just thinking about that
I'd like a standard TKL but as long as I've got function row and arrow keys I'm fine, I never did end up modding my 60he at all
im sure other companies will make keeb cases for the wooting since its such a popular keeb
its not popular enough
like logitech and razer
Well someone's making one already 👀

Here's a couple videos you might find helpful. One is how to take out the switches / lube on the 60HE, and one is how to assemble the 80HE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN_-GYLTfpY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNa5wuqiFVY

I’ll have a look thanks
is the wootility 5.0 only on web?
Yes
anyone have a list of games thats socd/snap tap is banned? ik csgo banned it but thats i
When will the 80he white color be updated in the store?
ty
Would SA or oem spacebar be better
Gotta love ups delivery
Please usps don’t do this to me 🙏
and i thought amazon delivery in germany was bad nowadays
dont feel bad happened to like 5 of us today atleast
is it just me or does the Light Indicator need more effects in the wootility app?
no its really bad here I used to work at this ups distribution center and the things I've seen them do is crazy also doesn't help its in a bag and not a box
usps didn't do me dirty, only some small dents on the switch box
From what I've seen USPS has been solid.
God damn what did they do 😭
Another one to the list 🥲
It either got stepped on or caught in one of the belts they use to move items through the warehouse
😭
Updated
I was about to say that I don't think I've ever had anything delivered that poorly but then I remember that USPS folded a mouse pad that isn't supposed to be folded. Shoved into my mail box
Actually 9 cases now
Twice in a row 😆
Nvm 10
I'll make sure to tag you tomorrow when I get mine so you can add it to the list lol.
3 brain cells worker
Please do lol
You mean everyones is different? It's like very pink on mine, not pink tint
Just received my 80he in the mail today and this is the first thing I have typed on it. feels great and sounds great too!
zinc version
is it bouncy?
Yeah LEDs can lean more pink or more blue when set to "white". Just depends on the diodes in them.
was not ready for how heavy this big boi is hahahaha love it
does it thock
mine's monday. f this world
Mine is tomorrow by 7pm, and with my luck it will be 7pm before they drop it off lol.
this is my first "nice" keyboard so idk if i can evaluate it properly other than im enjoying the experience
if they glue the all Continents we wouldn't suffer like this
definitely some thockage going on
classy using Psy music logo
switching from my corsair k70 rapidfire feels so different
is it bouncy while typing ?
It shouldn't be all that bouncy while typing on because of how many mounting points they have for the gaskets. Also, you don't want a super bouncy board with hall effect.
lol what?
yeah I know that it's not hella bouncy coz it's he keyboard
but is bouncy little ?
you could notice it
or stiff
From the reviews I've seen, because I don't have mine yet, it's more stiff than bouncy.
when you get your board tomorrow tell us how it feels
Oh, I had no idea. I found it years ago online and have been using it ever since lol.
sorry idk what bouncy means in the context of keyboards but if i had to guess id say no, mine is the zinc so thats probably the more rigid option
oh
yeah it does ty
Yea back in the day that was considered a good thing and plate mounted stabs were all the rage lol
I do like that typing on this boad is so quiet, but I think I will bottom out more if I use the free switches. I really don't think I have a use for them unless im going to build another keyboard lol
AirMag Profile 😄
Ngl I am a noob at modding, but I just opened up the 80he, and there seems to be nowhere to apply a burger mount, right? Doesn't seem that the PCB is screwed into any standoffs, it's held there by the actual case itself
How is the scratching on the paint of the white zinc alloys?
yea its gasket mounted
mine came with no scratches
Correct, it's been held up by the silicone gaskets around the edge of the plate.
Dope thank you
Mine has been pretty resilient. I tested the backside a bit with some small wire and it didn't leave any spots. Purely anecdotal though
no scratches yet but the white definitely does not hide imperfections well
Im putting quite a bit of pressure but still trying to keep it nice obviously and its a metal switch puller
It’ll definitely be fine for the slightest dings
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx6vTEtwZ50 Pretty in depth video with sound tests and stem wobble for various switches using the 80HE.
안녕! It's Mikey Here! Today I finally got the Wooting 80HE video completed. I apologize the video is incredibly long, but I promise it will be worth the watch with modding and all the popular switches tested in the new board!
Wooting 80HE: https://shorturl.at/IbPae
Lekker V2: https://shorturl.at/oT6Tr
Wooting Mod Parts: https://shorturl.at/IbPae...
Thanks for doing that
i just had the W key go perm press during a match of the finals. Maybe a fw bug? I had to unplug the kb to get it to reset
War Patina over time
anyone got good cable recommendations or should I just go with a wooting coiled cable?
Is there no way to change the profile color?
for the light bar I mean
i just got mine and plugged it in but wootlity doesnt seem to be working
what is difference beetween these 2?
use version 5 on web only
ahhh didnt realize desktop app isnt v5 thanks
I would like to change the color of the profile indicator
nobody tells me ;(
oNE has kana
lmao
I wanted white zinc but ofc i can't get what i want in life
ghost for sure
one has to do till it's back :(, aah ghost ofc, I am a ghost to people so it makes sense
then order a zinc white case later
thanks bro i was thinking the same
it looks so good with rgb
theere goes my medication money... rip my schizio
ohhhhh nooooo
sigh I guess I’m lubing my maxes 😭
Got my zinc today and there is an issue
what issue
I think I'm going to need another for work. The typing experience is way better than my moonlander with linear keys
What's your experience with the stems / keycaps and the Jade Max? Are they sticking as badly as he showed in the video? I'm debating between keeping the L45's or going with the Max.
Seems like a good issue to have.
They just entered my state recently, still don’t have them yet. Still waiting on board so I’m gonna only be able to test 1 switch at a time with my geon switch opener 🥲
From Mike’s sound test, it’s not even close for stock vs lube on zinc
are switching south facing for cherry?
I’m hoping it’s not a pain after reading his comment
15 switches every week, by then 80he should arrive
No
fak those ergonomiic keyboards, :<
Not a bad idea
so is getting cherry not good?
I was glad to see him using kil-mat in his board. I feel like you don't see it very often.
But I’d have to reset up shop every week 🥲
Cherry is fine, just leave the switches North facing.
hmmmmmmmm :< so i won't feel it or affect my gaming?
not that i would've felt anyway
Was that what he put into his spacebar
No, that was the stuff he was adding to the bottom of his keyboard in the beginning.
It's a car dampening material for sound and vibrations.
Did anyone else get Jitsu as their delivery service and had a good experience? All I'm seeing from the chat history are bad and semi-bad things lol
No it won't affect anything. You can just Cherry keycaps with no issues. I use them on my 60HE, and will have them on my 80HE.
Ok 195,255,175 is a better white
They were mine and the day of delivery estimate was way off but overall it still came. It said 55min away for 3 hours then cleared to filler
I am using two keyboards too, but this one types fine?
Ok I found a work around for trying to change the profile indicator
I see, thank you for the information. That eases my worry somewhat since the most recent message was someone getting their keyboard stolen 💀
you can just use a solid light effect, but the only problem is that the global settings no longer work so you just have to add all the settings to each profile
because when you add a solid indicator for the light bar it overrides the global.
but this works, I only have 2 profiles anyways
They didn't ring the doorbell or anything but I had the camera up all day on an extra monitor but we also don't have a ton of package theft here
Gotcha. Ty once again
Yea mine was delivered the one day of the week no one was home.....
wait in the buying page don't we have to select switches??
And only because work switched my work from home day last minute.
Are you getting the module, or the pre-built?
pre-built
I think you just get standard switches unless you just buy the parts individually
Pre-built comes stock with L60 v2's.
oh nuu :( which one is better?
Better in which way?
hmm as in typing i d say
it's preference
Anyone tried the 45s yet?>
preference it's just the weight of the spring that changes 45 grams vs 60 grams
Strictly for typing I would think a slightly heavier spring is better.
seems like allot of work to change over to those.
I'll be hand lubing and installing the L45's tomorrow.
yeah I don't want to do too many mistakes, but I also game tho.
dont know why you would buy a hall effect keyboard for typing
yea it's not like they are super heavy to begin with
So you don't type on your keyboard?
L60's are fine for typing and gaming. I would honestly stick with those to start before spending money on something additional.
I mean i game but i will also work on it hahhahaa
i do, but if you are only typing then a mechanical is better
Yea same, 95% work 5% game lol
I actually like typing on thesea.
They are quiet and smooth
reminds me of topre
ehh i also like how wooting looks tho, and they sound good out of the box compared to other ones, cba doing all the mods :((
and I think it's pretty thin isn't it? compared to something like keychron, dead tall
huh
You talking about the keycaps?
Mine will be here tomorrow FINALLY
wooting ships with OEM height/style keycaps
oh
Yeah the case has a lower typing angle, so it looks flatter compared to some other cases.
it has interchangeable feet
like i remember getting keychron q1 it was so tall, idk hard to play without wrist rest
60he doesnt
Will any cherry mx keycaps on the 80HE? Looking at getting these
yes
just make sure the bottom row spacebar is 6.25U
which it looks like it is
ah okay
i think you can find the measurements on wootings website
and compare it with the keychron
hmm those keycap colour would go nice with the ghost case
or am i tripping?
Oh man those look amazing
oh yeah they would. I got the black plastic one
where do I get those
wondering if i should order now or wait till i get my keyboard
damn I'm buying those haahthanks man
if I put my order like this , not prebuilt, will it come with cable will i need to buy anything seperate? I think i will go with linear45
Now i'm wishing I had not already bought the wooting white keycaps for my black board
ye don't be impulsive like me ;<
it comes with the cable
thx
I had no idea I could get gray ones for $32. I might have kept the white keyboard
yeah wooting keycaps were a bit expensive and i want some styling
yeh, maybe wait.
Unless you really want it
me with my impulse 550 usd 60he
me with my 80he rn
I’m another victim 🫠. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
I don't know if it's correct, because I'm terrible at math. But ChatGPT says the Wooting 80HE is 26.36mm high in the back. Can anyone confirm? lol
Hey, at least there was still some in the jar.
Damn i already wasted money on the white ones.... Guess i will have to just use them
rip, mine arrived a little dented but the switches were still in the box just fine, the box did look like it got stepped on like 5 times though
Yeah, so I told ChatGPT the front height, and the depth of the case of 5.6 inches, with a 2.8 degree incline which is the lowest I think the board had, and it spit out the 26.36mm height.
The NA experience
You guys like low inclines?
Absolutely
I immediatly put the tallest feet on it
ehh close enough
Yikes that's bad. At least the keyboard looks fine from the box. You should email this video to wooting
(based on 0 math)
Yeah I am NOT a math guy lol. So I have no idea if I even told Chat GPT the right info to calculate.
The secret to getting it shipped in a box was adding the extra keycaps and wrist rest
I would guess you probably use a wrist rest as well?
yeah i ordered a wrist rest
those are some nice keycaps
looks nice! How does the wrist rest feel like?
That look ok? I just got the wooting keycaps because i wanted to be sure they matched up lol
probably front height, angle and the length
I really like it
much better thann this shitty wood one for my keychron
ah okay. i've been using a memory foam for some time with my keychron
Although I can't stand not having one, but I also use the maximum incline
I couldn't find a good one to fit the alice profile board
Yeah, it seems like people generally use one when they use the higher incline cases.
i think the silicone wrist rest is nice, hand doesnt stick to it like those razer leather ones
Even their own wood wrist rest does not fit it right lol
@lilac plaza does the wrist rest like fit well or does it move around when you are using it?
not to mention how FLUSH it is with the keyboard
thats good to know
it fits well and does not move around
hmm cool
Will do. Keyboard came out fine luckily with no chips or anything.
It's almost flush with the keyboard (but the incline might be affecting that)
- im using 3rd party case and its still flush
mind linking it?
case for the 60he?
I adjusted my Q8 Max by buying some clear rubber feet off amazon
oh i thought you meant a 3rd party wrist rest
oh no haha, using wootings
7 degrees is fine for me (using the aftermarket case)
What incline do I have with the giant rubber feet?
The keys feel so far away with no incline
2.8
wonder what happened to the packages
I need allot more incline. I don't know how people like no incline. also one reason I don't like typing on laptops I didn't realize I was the weird one
Does the board slip around without any feet in?
hmm for getting the not prebuild model, it doesn't give me estimate on delivery date compared to prebuild, is this normal? will it take longer?
something go wrong when they tried to hand off a batch to UPS??
it comes with some low profile feet
i think the module is like early next year
or something
Yeah, they are the 2.8 degree ones, right? If you remove those, does the board slip around?
it should tell you at checkout
no idea because they were no where near tall enough for me
So if it's more ergonomic to have no keyboard incline, then why do I feel more fatigue without propping up the back?
hmm ergonomic it depends, people yap a lot about it, but it's very situational and it depends on lost of other factors
if it feel comfy go for it ;p
Maybe your desk / chair isn't the proper height? Or sitting improperly? Or it could be you're just so used to typing on an incline, your wrists have grown accustomed to being angled.
I dont sit perfect flat, I sit laying back in my chair
Yeah, could just be a small combo of things. But yes, being as close to 0 degree incline is the best for ergonomics. In fact, I believe having a negative incline is technically the best for you.
Maybe it's cause I have thicker arms. I feel like my wrist is stright even with the feet
what case is that?
zinc
I think it is though but I usually have my elbow on the desk
I don't type with my keyboard at the edge of my desk
I have carpul tunnel, but switching to a vertical mouse did more for that than any keyboard tricks
Same, kind of. My left elbow rests on the arm of my chair, and my right elbow is on my desk. But I have a curved desk, and both my desk and chair are perfectly level.
My chair is adjustable but I like the arm rests to slide under the desk
I have an old ikea galant , it's large
put my order >.< should be in november 4-11 they said.. not bad?
like 2 of those almost
This one is 63". So I've got 3 monitors, and my PC sitting on the desk lol.
Dont let the british ppl catch u using anis
he he hehee
I didn't realize it was bad to use a keyboard on an incline though. Feels much better to me for some reason
ansi is superior
ansi clears
ye idk the british layout is like brexit so restrictive, always had trouble buying my favourite keycaps :(
british layout only good if you have a case made out of alueminium
some of these switches feel impossible ro remove lul
reason why i bought module
what an experience
pull from the bottom of the switch then top
Sometimes it's easier to remove the switches when the board is disassembled.
weird how the opposite feels better
Ok I put the flat feet back on. Feel so weird now
rock it back and forth 💀
I dunno if I like this
Your carpal tunnel may appreciate it though lol.
I should force myself to use it I guess
it is, you can take it down to the pcb and switches will stay on the plate
It's probably too late for me. I just always used the feet, I had no idea I was the weird one
It drove me nuts when keyboards had bad feet
U bend ur wrist when using the kb? God bless
Not really cause my elbows on the desk
i wished the tables in my lectures weren’t so small so i could use the wooting instead of the laptop keyboard
If ur wrist isnt bend then u good
need to record new sound test tmr to compare to before

i refuse to believe anyone from production used the remover they provided to remove all switches
its terrible
I've got the one that Wooting sells in a kit. Is it different?
its so bad I used the one from 60 he
this is just the standard
if we combine the switch remover and the keycap remover
it saves costs!
without actually using it
The key wobble is real w/this thing
also the lekker v2 switches have baby tabs to hold to the plate
i just spent like 2 hours trying to switch the switches out
how tight are the screws on the pcb supposed to be? i unscrewed them by accident and when i screwed them back on, my enter, space, shift, tab, and backspace dont come back up when pressed, it just stays down
jjust put in all raw he
Glory to Geon and all that he touches!
They do not need to be super tight at all. Did you mess with your stabs at all? Lube them? Adjust them?
how's the key wobble vs lekker v2?
uhh this us more of a wrong stabilizer installation
whats a stab 💀 i know nothing of keyboards tbh

@echo shell just follow this guide
i’ll take a look thanks
Pretty sure if I use an incline, my elbow is just bent a little more
anyone have recos for transparent keycaps that go with the ghost 80HE?
pbtfan xrays
Bro has the smallest fingers ive ever seen on a man
The B is the geon raw he and the N is the lekker v2
Perfect, thanks. Yeah the lekkers got some nasty wobble. I have this $130 chinese kb i picked up recently that has zero wobble and actually puts my 80HE to shame build quality wise.
I notice it for sure
i watched the video but it doesnt seem to be this. the keys that have this issue work fine when the screws arent screwed into the stabilizers from the pcb, but when i screwed them in, it becomes stuck
i didnt touch the stabilizers at all really, just the screws on the pcb
Did you unscrew the stabilizers from the PCB?
yeah by accident when i was changing the lekker switches
Okay, did the stabilizers come apart? They are basically 3 components, a stem, a housing, and a wire.
are your stabilizers facing the right way?
they didnt come apart, the tab key stabilizer fell out but i put it back in, and the key works find until i screw them in
and this is happening with all the keys that have stabilizers
yes they align with the screw holes on the pcb
huh this is interesting
do you have a pic or video?
hard to understand through text
Yeah, if we could get a picture of your board that would help.
has anyone gotten their zinc raw 80he yet?
basically as is, when i flip the module over and press the keys right now, they go down and come back up like normal, but when i reassemble them and screw into the screwholes on the stabilizers, they become either super sticky or stuck at the bottom completely
i bought ceramic keycaps, new stabs etc
put the stabilizers on the pcb first
as in screw it onto pcb first?
i think your issue is that youre not clipping the bottom of the stabilizers in
before screwing the stabilizers in
on the other side of the stabilizer, you see one has a clip and the other is a screw hole?
you want to put the clip in and then screw it down
yeah i see it now, i’ll try clipping it into the hole on the pcb first
hol on let me get a video

thanks i’ll check it out rq
My wooting is here
very nais which case and color
White zinc with module

I feel your pain
See how the stabs are on the PCB first?
my only gripe with the 80he looking at it now is the thick ass forehead it has
OH THE SPACEBAR IS BACKWARDS COMPARED TO THE OTHER STABILIZERS!!! @echo shell
the top bezel is bigger than all the others
damn they use so little lube
i swear to jesus h christ the spacebar came like that
yeah i didnt know about the hooks, trying that now
no its supposed to be that way
The spacebar is supposed to be backwards though, isn't it? The bar goes on the North side?
Yeah
didnt want him to install it upside down
literally the 80he
im so glad i got a black plate for my 60he, looks way better
does anyone know how to install new switches onto the 80he? i want to put my lekker 45s on here but idk if its hotswap or not
its hotswap
fr?
wooting has a tutorial on yt
is 80he screw in stabs?
ohh ok
yeah just pull it and and push it in
yes
do yk the title of the vid?
1.2mm or 1.6mm?

it depends on keycaps and switches
geon raw switches and wooting keycaps
What actuation points and RT settings are you all using for FPS games and the lekker v2s?
both but go long pole
either one will be fine then
thank you
ty sm
but if you do plan on getting cheap keycaps listen to @atomic brook
get long poles
now i got to lube my knight stab to put it in my 80he 💀 i hate it
0.3mm for all keys except space bar and shift which I normally have closer to 1.0mm. RT set to continuous with 0.15mm.
dont overlube it 😊
u use lesser lube for knight stabs?
damn that's sensitive, but you switched to the L45's right?
(i did and when the stem bottomed out, it stuck a little to the pcb
)
Yeah
if you got clears itll be easy to tell, you just want a thin layer
💀 ok i will put lesser lube, i hate doing stab the most because there is always something wrong
That's only FPS games though. For general typing / all other games I use a 1.0mm with no RT.
I'm still trying to dial them in and see what feels good. I think the ultimate test will be to see if i can pull off a superglide in apex
i had to take apart my 60he+ 4 times
but thats more skill issue
Yup. I think I took mine apart at least 6 or 7 times changing case foams, swapping switches, lubing, and removing lube.
First keyboard I had ever modded. It was a fun learning experience.
same but i was using plate mount because i have the old 60he, and 3rd party stabs just aint it
sounds liek what i'd do
i used some left over m2x6mm screws to sub in the one i lost
https://wooting.io/product/detachable-cable?Color=Stealth do these work on the 80he? Does it juice it enough is what I mean
I'm not sure yet if I'm going to get 3rd party stabs. I guess I'll lube up the stock ones and see how they are. I'm not SUPER picky when it comes to those.
I saw a baggie with extra screws for the 80HE
Looks like a good fit
yup
flush with the top when pcb installed
#🌟│wooting80he message did they arrive today
?
Dopeee
he said monday most likely, also it's only 8am in netherlands still
I might have to look into those stabalizers
Naniiiii
Yeah, I'm debating those as well. Kil-mat, TX AP stabs, and Jade Max (maybe).
i hated tx aps, it was so hard getting the wires into the stab housing that holds the wire in place
but that couldve just been my set
i felt like the stabs were gonna snap or the wire was bending due to how much force i was putting on
But did they sound good in the end? Or not much difference?
where do you get them from?
i returned them and got sw knights
Haven't bought them yet. Got the kil-mat from Amazon.
Might just stick with the stock stabs / L45s. I'll know by tomorrow.
I dont see what good it will do with the zinc case?
kil-mat dampens sound better than foam
But the case is already so dense and heavy what good is a little matt going to do?
only 1 more month chat
Reduces vibrations. Metal cases tend to be more "pingy" than plastic ones.
I like more muted typing. Not a big fan of the clacky clack.
but sound deadner usually just adds mass. That is how it works. closed cell foam would actualy remove noise
This is how I used to do car audio stuff back in the day. All that RAMMAT etc all it is doing is adding weight
But to reduce cabin noise you use closed cell foam?
Dense metal should vibrate much?
I tested using kil-mat, MLV, poron, neoprene, and another one I can't recall. kil-mat and MLV were definitely my favorites by far. I put 1 layer of kil-mat, with a layer of poron over the top.
which case?
That was using an aluminum flat case on my 60HE.
and you noticed a big difference?
I'm thinking I will notice more difference from the stabs
Yeah, for sure. Even layering the poron / neoprene in there. Swapping to something like kil-mat / MLV made a very noticeable difference in how it sounded.
you can tune stock stabs to be pretty good imo
so I would take out the foam and put in the kil-mat?
I don't know much about that
Just greasing them?
It looks like there's enough room to use both. A layer of kil-mat and then the stock foam over that. I believe they used a EDPM.
When I received my prebuilt zinc 80HE, all of the case screws were loose. The top case and bottom case were rattling together. Had to tighten them myself. Weird.
you can “balance” the wires. to do this you hold down one end of the wire with 2 fingers and tap the other end with 1 finger
if it rattles or you hear a tapping sound you can bend it
hold on
my explanation is shit https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=547rtvaE9nI
steel block : https://amzn.to/3LL4LKH
geon stabilizer twisters : https://divinikey.com/products/geon-stabilizer-twister/?ref=xxw
disclaimer : you don't have to balance your wires, a lot of newer stabs these days don't really need to be wire balanced. this is only if you don't have a spare wire and you've tried everything to get rid of stabilize...
sounds painful
its just trial and error
@proven hearth @short niche that was the issue, you guys are the goats
i was tweaking for a sec
But if I just replace them wouldn't that be easier?
Unless the ones you replace them with are also bent.
that too
I'd just lose patience and order a new one
my stock spacebar wire was so bent 💀
it sounded 900x better after a little bending though
interesting, so buying replacement isn't really going to be much benefit then?
and used 205g0 lube
not if you take the time to tune your stock ones
and lube it
I used 205g0 on my stabilizer housings, and molykote on the wires. Seemed to work really well on the stock 60HE stabs.
i just did 205g0 on everything and it seems to be doing pretty well
what lube? All I Have is some TriboSys 3204 Grease I got to rebuild my topre (which I keep putting off).
Just finished watching MikeyTypes video, he had high praise for the Lekker V2 switches. I think Wooting did a good job on them.
i bought this and it seems to be a real 205g0 (not too watery) https://www.amazon.com/Keyboard-Switches-Grease-Gateron-Mechanical/dp/B09B9RL1QQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?
I am afraid to do the topre because IK hear the the switch holders tend to break when you remove them and I need to remove them all to sand down the plate so I can remove the rust and repaint it
a lot cheaper than krytox
I also have Nyogel 760G
1/2 the price
added to cart
Got a link for the kill matt?
Mine wasn't that brand, but same 80mil thickness.
Yeah, it is more on the expensive side.
Which stabs would be the correct ones for this board if I did go this route?
Sorbothane is another option which would probably be even better than kil-mat.
Isolate It! Sorbothane acoustic and vibration isolation thin films are versatile anti-vibration pads that can be used on many different applications. The unique Sorbothane ultra-soft urethane is a durable, resilient, polymer that provides outstanding vibration isolation and non-skid properties. S...
$30 for one piece? nuts
Yeah, it's expensive lol.
I think so?
I have no idea that is why I am asking
SW Knight PCB-mounted Screw-in Stabilizers - This is a screw-in stabilizer using a new silicon double shot mold. - Both the stem and housing are injection-treated. This process effectively reduces rattling sounds that are made when:1. the stem makes contact with the housing2. the wires makes contact with the stem - Thi
if you were replacing stabs these are what I'd pick
I don't even know what holee mod is
comes in both long pole and normal
you don't need to do that with newer stabs
that's an old thing thats outdated now if you buy newer gen stabs
Using a piece of bandaid or other material inside the housing of the stab to create a soft surface for the pole to rest/bounce on, reducing the pinging noise.
long or standard pole?
normal if lekker switches, long pole if raw he or jade switches
The standard ones? Why are these better?
or normal + stem spacers
I tried putting a holee mod on a single stab with my 60HE, and said hell no. lol
because they're tighter fit and known to just work well with very little work
tx is fine too, but knight v2 are even better
are they both made in china?
almost all keyboard stuff is made in china
yea...
those look like they are more pieces?
I don't know I have never bothered to mod my keyboards much before
The little pieces on the left go inside the bigger pieces with the screw holes, and then the wires connect one "set" on each side.
I replaced a gasket in my keychron that's about it
I have added orings to my topre to give it better sounds
There is like flat pieces on the right
those just go under the stabs?
Oh I'm not honestly sure on that. I haven't bought 3rd party stabs before.
the flat pieces are just for compatibility with thinner pcb
you don't use them in wooting but some stabs come with them just in case you need them
ok
I think I might be better off spending $15 than trying to tune the stock ones.
Anything way cheaper on Ali Express
yeah but requires more modding to get working well
the entire thing with knight v2 and such is they're hard to mess up for beginners which is why they're so popular
it's just very thin coat of 205g0 lube, put them together and done
Oh trust me, I can fuck ANYTHING up. lol
just got my 80he today
I should have mine within the next 19 hours. Unless UPS decides they hate me.
I want the Zinc Alloy White
Crazy, i was crazy once, they put me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy Crazy, i was crazy once, they put me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy Crazy, i was crazy once, they put me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazyCrazy, i was crazy once, they put me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy
smh
What is the difference between Swagkeys Knight Stabilizer V2 and TX AP
completely different brands and stabs.
knight v2 are more popular these days because they're a tad tighter
they're the current 'hot' stabilizer that everyone likes
i think both are perfectly fine and can be tuned to be good
Any reason the black ones are sold out over the clear?
they just haven't made them in awhile
knight v2 are insanely popular and they can barely keep them stocked. You're only able to buy them because they put some stock internationally which sells out slower - but all their korean stock sells in the same day that they put it up every time
So your saying I should just go ahead an order them?
well if you want new stabs sure, up to you
the right side definately sounds worse than the left side
I think I'm a little retarded, the height adjustment feet face which way?
i mean if I were you i'd literally just buy a syringe of stab lube for $5 or whatever before buying new stabs
but if you want to buy new stabs then I'd go knight v2
Camera will not focus bruh, but is it this way or the other way?
other way stick out a bit
other way
😭
This board is too flat and big to use flat feet imo
Without slight angle I feel like reaching f keys is weird, and I have big hands
This keyboard sounds so good stock 🤤
Literally what i said lol
Idk why you took em off then
Supposed to be more ergonomic without them
Maybe I'll change my mind once my wrist wrest comes in
It's the opposite
Nah it won't i'm using the wrist rest lol
Not sure how struggling to reach the top row is ego
i use keyboards at that angle before
Using the keyboard feet can harm your forearms.
But not using them may hurt your neck.
So what's the right approach? Well, it depends (again!!!). It depends on
-whether you can touch type or not
- whether you're wrist sensitive or not (carpal tunnel syndrome or CTS)
- whetehr you're forwearm sensitive or not (lateral epicondylitis or tennis e...
Being able to do it effortlessly seems better for your hands
you just get used to it
realistically most people can get used to whatever if you give it a week
All of my 60% keyboards are always somewhat angled, I've never used feet tho
I had my keychron for a couple weeks until I added stick on silicon feet to it. And I was like OMG so muchb better lol
It doesn't make a difference or make it better to use it flat tho
anytime you change angle it'll feel awkward for a bit, but after a week or two it's all just normal
it's better for wrist posture
a friend of mine wants a 80HE, does he have to get a wooting hub account
but it's not a big deal overall in the end either way
posture guy in video basically Said ok boomer, use your keyboard feet and enjoy your carpul tunnel
Really? I feel like without the feet reaching for the f row tenses my hand so much lma
cranking wrist = bad
so more flat = less crank
Cranking as in angling it up?
yeah, it puts more pressure in bad spots
Never heard cracking wrist idk what that means
Yes my hands get tired much faster without feet
the more neutral your wrist is the better
maybe not as bad asd teh Q8 though
That depends if I am hunched over or slouching back in my chair thnough
So ur only not using it because a YouTube video said you're gonna get caple tunnel if you change the angle by 6°?
Feel like you should use whatever is more comfortable
honestly you can get used to whatever angle you want in 1-2 weeks, so I just use the one that's more ergonomic
i've used 0, 4, 6, 8 etc
If there was any real study behind angling a keyboard and causing health issues, it wouldn't be an option
you just get used to it with enough time
Im going to try it out. Granted my other keyboard still has the angle
that's not how it works lol
so it will only get 50% use
look if you want to use higher angle and crank your wrist up it's fine, but lower angle is more ergonomic
In that video he says it was originally an option for boomers with their type writers
it's not like it's guaranteed carpal tunnel etc, just that one is less strain than the other, but good typing form and not pushing down into your wrist is most important
Preference is preference. Considering the amount of people who play with their keyboard at 90° I think the height is the least damaging thing lol
you can continue using your 6 degree or whatever if you want, it's less ergonomic but it is what it is
i don't think 'amount of people doing x' is a good argument one way or another
Once my wrist wrest comes in, the flat will prob feel beter
feels like my wrist has to work more without the feet
I think it feels better angled with the rest
I'm saying there's worse things that people with keyboards do that are more damaging to their physical health
sure, but that's a poor argument to make
I'm just stupid or anti trend I guess
it's whataboutism and not addressing the point
So… the 80he is basically just cheating
Fortnite with the 80he is actually night and day
It's legit preference lol
I haven't even played any games yet been too busy
preference does not equal good or bad posture
those are separate topics
.1 actuation and rappy snappy?
I think if Im leanning forward or sitting straight flatg is good.
If I'm reclined I like the lifted feet
no one here is forcing you to swap your preference. You can use your preference if you want. People are just saying that certain angles are technically worse and that is 100% true even if it's yours or anyone elses preference
either way my wrist feels straight
yea for now 😂
thing is you cann angle with your arm instead of your wrist
someone could prefer an angle of 20 degrees and playing upside down suspended in a net. That doesn't make it good or bad from any standpoint
Not sure how something can be 100% true with everyone having different hands and keyboards for that matter but alr
because everyone has the same nerves etc in the same-ish spot
im laying so far back in my chair I might as well be in bed
preference doesn't change where your nerves are located
posture dude would trip
I didn’t even have rappy snappy enabled😳 should I do it for A and D?
preference is just whatever you got used to over time, it's not good or bad, it's just what your body became used to because you did it for a long enough time
I did for WASD, but not sure if that is best
Idk if everyone positions their hands or keyboard the same but I cba or argue about keyboard height
just like how fps gamer tilt their keyboard and got used to it over time
everyone generally has the same hands and nerves etc yes.
Oh the actuation alone makes night a day lol?
I have yet to turn on my keyboard or play
i don't think you're really understanding the topic but that's fine we can move on
let's take the train
Dude- it’s actually nuts. Depending on what keyboard you have now, you’re probably gonna be a lot sloppier when building because your ability to place builds and edit is not faster than you can comprehend initially😭😭
I'm understanding the topic, I just don't think it matters as much as you say it does
no one is saying it's be all end all.
we're just saying it is 100% true that some angles are better than others ergonomically
Half by build binds are on my mouse 😩
I just did too. I’ll try and it out and see🤷♂️
no one is saying you'll tilt your keyboard too much and get cancer suddenly
Same here. Still crazy. Editing is definitely the most shocking
just that preference doesn't mean jack all in terms of ergonomics and what works for your body and some angles are indeed better
Damn, guess I'ma have to hop on fort TMR morning and test it out
But overall everything just feels so much more fluent and smooth
My account has like 100k vbucks and I don't even play the game 😭
Haha I feel that lol
Do I swap out for the l45's?? I'm so used to 50g switches with old keyboard but maybe it's worth to get used to the l60
if nothing else all the people using shitty gaming chairs with bad posture are ruining their shoulders/arms more than anything else
thoracic outlet syndrome becoming way common among gamers
it's the same thing faker keeps suffering from after years of using those awful gaming chair setups
If you think a bad keyboard angle can’t result in health issues you shouldn’t have a keyboard 🤷♂️
good chair didn't fix my spinal stinosis or fix my herniated disc
It’s not hurting it either, good chairs and keyboard angle is more about prevention than fixing the issue itself
yep. It's why i've been using computers since ms dos for 30+ years now and still have zero arm and wrist issues
Pretty much if you can prevent the problem before it starts that's ideal
all the stuff is just preventative because it's more about what happens in 10-20 etc years of bad posture
Instead of being the ambulance at bottom of the hill
well that and I see all my friends with gamer posture so I always try to correct it as much as I can
it's hard to stop the lean in posture though
I do the opposite and lean way back
What the hell is the advantage of this
Don't you see less being that close
Counterstrike is all about narrow sightlines and hitting a pixel before it hits you.
it works for sure. Problem is you get into that habit and you get closer and closer to the screen over time and people naturally lean forward when they focus up as well
so then you end up with hopperbus photo lol
My profiles on the left.
There you can drag them around.
thank you very much
Yeah, same goes for Siege
honestly in terms of ergonomics, just exercise and have a decent posture, i mean not totally out of place.. a bit of forhead head posture, or extension in wrist will not ruin you if you sleep well, eat well, and exercise and train your muscles...
I had severe RSI at some point and i went ergonomic rabit hole, nothing worked till i started strengthing my wrist lol
so i just went back to normal mouse/keyboardand is much better imo than learning new layout and constantly trying to monitor my posture
i d say desk height and chair are most important
but im not a doctor
https://1-hp.org/ this guy makes really nice articles about these type of stuff and videos
meow
pros normally dodge flashes mostly easily, but if they are caught by one they gon feel the entire duration
It was a hard choice between this and the two, but I can't do without my home and end buttons easily accessible, and I only have one usb-c slot on my motherboard, currently being occupied by the mouse.
Finally made the jump with the recent updates to corsair's software causing it to soft crash every time I close it and oftentimes taking out file manager and freezing up the computer for a minute.
I really like my Alice layout. Not really ergo but it just feels easier to use. I think it would be interesting to try a tented alice layout
My iCue's working just fine.
hm
well - as fine as it ever works
It usually worked meh to awful, this last update was just the tipping point.
gosh darn sick of icue
It's a bulky app for sure - But it works.
you can change the keys on the right to be home and end, althjough I have mine set to Fn+ up and down.
my muscle memory is too used to a full layout keyboard
I have iCue for monitoring my PSU output
I unfortunately rely on it to control all of my cooling (and case fan RGB) for the time being. Switching away is not a quick or cheap thing to do 😄
I mean it's almost full 80% which is just full keyboard without the duplicate keys
I paid for an 80% but only got 77.5%
yknow what's funny is I have an icue case and PSU, but there aren't enough 2.0 slots on the motherboard to connect both.
Use a splitter.
I bought a splitter
The cable doesn't need two, full USB2 ports anyhow. It just needs the one for data and sometimes a bit of power.
This listing is for 1pc multiplier, One connect to motherboard 9pin(10pin) port, Split to 2x 9-Pin(10-pin) Port Multiplier version: 1 to 2 Connector A: 9Pin USB Header Male Connector(s) B: 2X 9Pin USB Header Female Lenght: about 30CM With back glue, can be directly fixed on the main board or chas...
Sure would be nice for a new standard instead of piggybacking on USB
I own one I just need to take the time to install it.
It's a whole process getting the computer out of the web of stuff and cables.
and I am lazy
Yea my computer is FULL of dust right now
I'm beginning to feel that the number of devices I have plugged into the computer is part of the problem.
really need to clean it and change out the distilled water for some better fluid
oh damn you got the FANCY cooler
Better... fluid?
I have always just run distilled for the past 15 years or so
yeah, like polluted water
but I pulled apart a compter with about 12 years on the blocks and it had corrosion
So I'm not sure where it came from...
Well it didn't come from the water that's for sure 😄
Hope you're using additives though
Going to switch to modern PC coolant to see if it works better. They at least sell clear coolants now
Which is still just distilled water with anti algae additives chucked in 😄
I bet that stuff's just fancy antifreeze
This was straight distilled with PT nuke, and I rarely changed the water, just topped it off
no mold?
well you can't just use antifreeze cause it will leech plastic out of the lines if you use the wrong type
tru
water was still clear
I bet there's a youtube video where someone did it.
I've always used EK's non-solid liquids. Never had any issues.
I did get something once, and cleaned it out over the 12 year period.
I just bought an AIO cooler and called it a day.
My new rig has nickle blocks though and I used PT nuke, I was reading it will destory nickle so I'm a bit worried.
PT Nuke is specifically not for nickel. So expect the plating to peel off.
but then again I pulled a video card with a nickle block out after having it in a loop for over 5 years with PT nuke and it looked brand new, where the copper showed only light corrosion (discoloring).
I almost think it's just an EK problem
No it's a PT Nuke problem. The chemical composition is not made for nickel. It's an ancient product that should be retired 😄
yea well I still have a whole bottle lol
it didn't do anything to my plated block last time around
that like like 5-6 years on it
My server was all copper though, and the radiator corroded and the blocks... everything
Most coolants have a shelf life of about two years, so you probably poured in stuff that had lost its effect to begin with 😄
it's ancient though....
I beleive PT nuke lasts pretty much forever
yea I have some mayhems X1 it was the only clear stuff I could find for a reasonable price.
going to try to get that in there soon
ah yes the nickel plating will be so happy in modern components of waterloops
Your loop, your decisions. I can only shake my head at choosing to use stuff you shouldn't for a loop with expensive parts 😄
yea I'd rather not use PT nuke in there, but it's only been in there for about a year
Maybe I will tear look in the CPU block and see if I notice anything
4090 block is much more difficult.
interesting theres a nickel safe version of PT nuke called PHN nuke
didnt know that
that's my 1080ti that was run it's whole life with a couple drops of PT nuke in the loop
nickel looks great
nice 👀
the copper sulfate isnt too highly concentrated but the long and short is nickel kicks out the copper from the PT nuke and the copper deposits on the nickel
This was the CPU though, but it had about 4 more years on it
It cleaned up pretty good though, so it's going into my fileserver that is going to recycle those old parts
This block had I think 15-16 years on it and the pins were toast.
time for an ultrasonic cleaner it looks like
it is retired now lol... but even in such a state I bet it still works well enough.
Ya that was AFTER I cleaned that one
but thats for a Core 2 Duo system so I think I got my moneys worth
thought that was a waffle iron
It's new purpose
can u have rgb off and light bar on?
doesnt seems to work
Yes.
hey you mentioned you have an icue enabled PSU. I got a question. What the heck is the difference between the single rail and multi rail mode?
I found that the global settings don't always work if you have certain profile settings
how do turn off rgb without turning off light bar?
basically, the profile settings might override
global brightness 0 makes light bar not light up too
top 10 lifehacks
One work around is to set each key as black
oh so black is off
i used to do brightness 0 for off
there's no brightness toggle or macro?
there is brightness up and down keybinds
When are you ever going to use that?
yea im calling it a work around
I always turn my keyboard lights off before leaving station
I know that their lifespan is so long I shouldn't worry but like..............
Nah, just set the timer to do that for you
There's a dimming function for when you're afk
yeah was wondering if there was actually a black colour
If you really need to have a blackout function, you can just add a profile with no brightness and swap to that.
no brightness shuts off the Light Bar though
Yes? They were asking to disable all LEDs to conserve on their lifespan.
Oh I thought they wanted them all off except the light bar
would be nice to separate light bar brightness from the normal keys
also the 80he takes so much power that my 3rd party cable doesnt work
It's called global for a reason 😄
Im going to do a lights out proifile too
yeah im saying it would be nice to have a separate option
yea, blacking out the keys will leave the light bar on, its a good work around.

I could get the raw he from aliexpress store and buy the kbdfans brush at the same time
yeah we know it's on the list
The mode button will only toggle between two profiles?
I think I'm gonna need a new puller
Yes. That's the point.
Primary profile - and whichever one of the others you last used.
CYCLE is an alternative, or using profile specific ones.
so how do I switch to my 3rd profile?
See above
Been seeing this for the pass 2 weeks..anyone received their raw zinc case yet?
I don't seem to have a Cycle key
nope
its not nescessary, its just an option for switching between profiles
The packing simply takes too long
My raw zinc has been on ready to pack for 3+ weeks
Thanks that fixed it
I do know something about coating, something something but haven't heard anything since
Same here! Could be I ordered the raw zinc case that prolonged the process
I ordered mine very early April
tldr - they had polish marks on first batch so they had it redone at factory and new ones sent out
they are waiting for EU warehouse to receive and clear it for shipping
I ordered during the founders campaign
last update on raw zinc for EU is roughly monday for it
@pastel dust @ornate jasper #🌟│wooting80he message
Second time I get pinged to that post 😛
This I already knew
Oh didnt ser that on pinned messages. They need to update it then
they're just waiting for cases to be inbounded and cleared in EU now
mark said monday-ish
Besides that, the shipping thing, why the bags?
that's an NA issue, doesn't affect us EU batch folk
I get it America this and that but common
their warehouse rulesets had some holes in it which led to some orders being sent in plastic instead of a box
thankfully EU didn't have that issue and it's all been good from that side
Well... it can still happen in the EU warehouse. Just not for the 80HE due to the weight.
thats why my package was damaged
I'll be making a post in #📦│batch_updates later today with some overig updates across various products
what are the chances of this in future batches? I just placed an order and It just asked me to confirm my address. Really fast turnabout by the way, very nice.
of what?
I was expecting to wait at least a month for something bespoke like the wooting
wooting two specifically
what do you mean by 'of this' though
the plastic thing that was just mentioned
are you NA?
yea
i'd imagine they're fixing up the ruleset now to prevent this
my 80he sounds so much better than the 60he and the knight stabs is
Shouldn't happen if it's a keyboard order.
At any rate if you receive a delivery with damage to products, this is of course covered.
but the kb is huuuuge
W2HE follows a different set of packing rules due to its length
For better or for worse... Comes with its own set of problems 😅
dope
let it soak in minereal spirits and then to clean oxidation let it sit in ketchup for an hour
Can't just have the keyboard in stock in the right warehouse, also need the special shipping box in stock at the same warehouse, that has caused us problems in the past.. .
Not at the moment though 👍
Got my wooting today and my shipment notification for my maya x. Finally it's all coming together.
if only NA had igor this would never have happened. Igor is a forward thinker and he catches these mistakes in EU warehouse and fixes them on the fly, it's why he was wooting's employee of the month last month
fax
Yeah we have Jed in NA and he's special. Jk 🤣
