As another custom noob, what helped me was doing a switch deep dive and seeing what sounded nice (between Jades, Raptor, Raw and the standard Lekkers). Once you start looking for HE switches you’ll find a lot of different people’s setups and it can help inspire your future keeb.

It is one of the more accessable CAD programs and it is decent. There is also Solidworks which has a cheap maker version that many people will say is superior. But for different needs there are different program. You could also go Siemens Catia one the one or FreeCAD on the other.

Prebuilt is prebuilt. Module just means you can pick and choose all components of your board.

Once the keyboard is out, we'll release design files and companies can decide if they see a market for aftermarket case designs.

The Tofu predates the 60HE altogether. Both are built on earlier 60% cases built on a common PCB design.

The 80HE is roughly TKL - And that's where that sentence ends. There is no case that is "mostly" identical to it. But that isn't really important either way.

Doesn't matter if you're building on an existing design or a new one - You'll still have to go through the design phase and create new moulds. Same starting point if you will.

If KBDFans wanted to, they could definitely their their Tofu 2.0 design (which is also gasket mounted and adjust it to be compatible with an 80HE. But it would be an 80HE case at that point, not a "TKL multiple products you can use it for" thing

Very clean. Had it for a year and some change, no issues at all. Love mine. Some people complain that it wobbles on max height but who is ramming themselves into their desk at max height? I’ve leaned against it at max height. No issues.

Yeah I got the cooling gel armwrests and I love them too, it’s nice you can also get covers for the chairs if you ever want to switch it up

The reason you grab a module is to get either of the case designs that don't come as preassembled (frost/raw) or already have switches or keycaps you don't want to pay for twice.

I got the raw, module and L45 as well. Along with them, I got the Jades as well. I highly suggest you check out a couple of YouTube videos on Gateron Jades. They're supposed to be really good and a step up from Lekker switches.
