i was on my gaming profile, which has ctrl set very sensitive because yes

also modded my ctrl switch to be super duper light

to the point where i can actuate it without even noticing if i'm resting my hands while typing

for both gaming and just comfort reasons

it's pretty much universally helpful, but some games like minecraft or games where you press ctrl and shift frequently for crouching or sprinting, benefit more. (Did similar things to shift, that's slightly less sensitive though.)

oh yeah, also reduced their travel by cutting up washers and inserting them into the switches

that part's important.

got a mix of keycaps too, ctrl sits about 1mm-ish higher than shift, and shift has 2mm-ish, maybe 3mm more travel than ctrl.

makes it waaaay more comfortable for games that really wanting you using both keys together or to swap between them quickly

there is also pcb latency to consider and firmware, other optimizations, rgb, etc

i wouldnt be surprised if the 80HE PCB was super optimized for low latency and good signal integrity

and wasnt the modified xlat like 0.6 or 0.8ms for a prototype build

then againim just excited to see the tests and get my hands on the 80HE!

far as I know we were able to get a 60% Hall Effect KB with 8k polling and 6.3k scan which is pretty awesome, that currently has support, only using off the shelf components (best available non custom mcu afaik) - Venom 60 I think

At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference. You can pay 150 for a mouse but dislike the shape and prefer a 99$ mouse with different shape. Most mice use almost the same sensors and there are most of the time only subtle differences 🙂
