davey jones?
D could possibly stand for Devil
both for Devil Fruit (perhaps the descendents of the original df eaters hold the will of D) and also because they are Enemies of the Gods
There are a few theories out there saying Davey Jones might be joy boy
The Will of the Devil?
The Will of D.?! The Will of Davy! Davy Jones!!!
The Will of JoyBoy!! To oppose the World Government (Celestial Dragons whatever) and bring about freedom
I saw a big YouTube video on that idea earlier
Me too I think if I remember correctly us was the one piece la show runner ?
Shanks - by Yui
Roger was the captain of Shanks‘ crew and his inspiration of what a great pirate should be. Roger gave his straw hat to Shanks, telling him to return it one day when he becomes a great pirate.
Before reaching the grand finale of their journey, Buggy becomes too sick and so Shanks volunteers to stay behind and look after him. Shanks vows to make the journey on his own ship one day, which would be a part of his goal in becoming a great pirate like his captain.
After reaching Laugh Tale, captain Gol D. Roger tells Shanks that he will need to pass on the Straw Hat to the next generation as he will soon be dead. Shanks loses his reason to reach Laugh Tale on his own, but now he has a new goal which is to inspire the next generation and pass on Roger’s hat to the one most fitting.
After Shanks saves Luffy in chapter 1, the narrator tells us that Luffy has vowed to become just like Shanks one day. Luffy tells Shanks that he will have a better ship and crew than him and that he will become the king of the pirates. Luffy says this as a way of announcing that he will be even greater than Shanks. Seeing this, Shanks gives Luffy the straw hat and has Luffy promise to return it once he becomes a great pirate.
We later learn that Luffy had told Shanks what he wants in the future and that it was the same thing that Roger had said. This, along with his eating of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, are probably factors that also played into his selection of Luffy to take the straw hat.
During the Punk Hazard arc, Luffy actually explains that he plans to defeat all four emperors of the sea. He specifically says that he doesn’t want to fight Shanks first. This shows that even after all the years that have gone by, Luffy still thinks of Shanks as someone he wants to prove himself to and overcome. He thinks of Shanks as his end goal, because only after defeating someone like Kaido (considered the strongest creature) will he be ready to face Shanks.
After Kaido is defeated, we see Shanks is outside of Wano but is not ready to meet Luffy yet. This was surprising, but we later learn that Shanks was there in preparation of Blackbeard’s arrival. Shanks knows something about Blackbeard that is so vital that he even held a meeting with the five elders to warn them. Blackbeard is positioned in the story as the most opposing force to Shanks’ goal. Meanwhile, Luffy is the most supportive force.
Blackbeard is depicted as the most classical pirate. He wants to steal the treasure left by Roger like any pirate should, but he also has the literal power of darkness. Luffy has the power of the sun and is represented by white as the warrior of liberation Nika. This is the most anticipated and most built up battle in One Piece, however it is not the final one. Luffy’s goal that he made at the beginning of One Piece will not be complete until he defeats Shanks and proves that he and his crew are better than Shanks and his crew. Why would Luffy and Shanks fight? Because Shanks will claim the One Piece first.
I think that laugh tale is right at the start of the grand line. Something about them returning to where they started only for some huge secret to be in plain sight would be enough to make an entire crew burst out in laughter
Zoro will actually fight Avalo Pizarro because he has the capability of becoming stairs
Who was talking to the robot? It couldn't be luffy or the pig. My guess is that it was Zunesha or maybe the pig's real name was Emeth
The ancient kingdom is 100% based on Jerusalem.
Disclaimer/Context: I am Jewish so a lot of this comes from my pre-existing knowledge and needs further research.
All of the islands in One Piece are based on real places. It was confirmed in chapter 1114 that Joy Boy is from the great kingdom and in the latest chapter (1119) the giant robot’s name was revealed to be Emet. In Hebrew Emet (אמת) means “Truth” and is related to golems (TL;DR giant clay robots). In Jewish mythology a Golem is granted life by writing “אמת” on its forehead and in order to kill it you must erase the aleph (א) thus changing the word to “מת” which means death. All signs point to Emet being from the ancient kingdom as well, but furthermore the history of ancient Jerusalem aligns quite well with the story thus far.
In 66 CE the Jewish population rebelled against the Roman Empire. Four years later, on 4 August 70 CE the Romans laid siege to Jerusalem and destroyed the city along with the Second Temple. This parallels Joy Boy rebelling against / fighting the 20 kingdoms and losing resulting in the destruction of the ancient kingdom.
Although the Jewish religion is not overly connected to the sun it’s worth noting that this temple was oriented east in order to face the rising sun.
This event was incredibly important to the Jewish people as the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans was a pivotal event that triggered the transition to Rabbinic Judaism and the diaspora. As Jews were forced into diaspora the religion shifted to being focused around the sacred texts and oral tradition. Judaism in this period became much like a clan (we often refer to ourselves as “members of the tribe”) and the sacred texts (Tanakh) are a lot like the poneglyphs. Furthermore, until after WWII and the establishment of the state of Israel Hebrew was almost extinct.
Further connections:
Inherited will is prominent in Judaism. For example, in the Ashkenazi community we tend to name ourselves after our most recent dead relatives in order to take on their best traits.
Judaism is very pro-science and technology. In addition to accounting for 22% of Nobel prize winners despite making up 0.2% of the global population there is a concept in Judaism called “Tikkun Olam” or “repairing the world.” Throughout history many Jewish people have viewed science and technology as a tool for bringing about positive changes for the world.
Judaism is big on numerology. We call it gematria and basically you assign numbers to letters and words. Oda is OBSESSED with this kind of stuff.
In the context of Jewish mysticism and numerology, “D” refers to “Dybbuk”.
Dybbuk:
A Dybbuk, derived from the Hebrew word “דִּיבּוּק” meaning “attachment,” is a malevolent spirit or lost soul that is believed to possess and control a living person. This concept is rooted in Jewish folklore and mysticism, particularly within the Kabbalistic traditions.
As someone who has a master's degree on religions and beliefs; The stories described may be similar to another religion, belief, society or kingdom. There are many gods and societies that have narrative features with Nika, for example; For the people Prometheus, who stole fire from Hephaistos and Athena's atelier, Odin and his brothers, who split Ymir's snow, RA, who made the sun follow him in the sky, Jupiter and the council of gods, Mitra, who pulled the sun with his horse-drawn carriage and burned the places he passed, and frankly, the closest similarities between them. ; Inti is closest in terms of narrative, features, story presentation, visual design and ethos. In addition, a large part of what he said is unsourced and some of it is incomplete.
Moreover; this part you mentioned as "Judaism is very pro-science and technology", let me tell you something like this.
"Moses receives the 10 Commandments, which are the basis of Judaism, on Mount Sinai. However, when his descent was delayed, some of the people made a golden calf and wanted to worship it. Thereupon, Moses got angry and broke the 10 Commandments tablets. After a short time, upon the regret of the people, he gave the 10 Commandments tablets to God again. takes from". Also, as a religion, you never accept someone who was not born a Jew as a Jew, which is a very opposite attitude to our main character. It's like there are some inconsistencies between these and they keep increasing.
It was fun to read. You put the pieces together based on your own belief; But when history is read from the sources of other nations, it reveals the truth. It's a pretty far-fetched theory, but it's fun. Have a nice day.
I’m not saying Joy Boy was Jew Boy or that it’s at all connected to Judaism as a religion. I’m saying the ancient kingdom mirrors ancient Jerusalem. Nothing in the One Piece world is identical to the real world. Japan -> Wano, Egypt -> Arabasta, Spain -> Dressrosa. It’s quite possible given that the ancient robot is now canonically taken from the Jewish mythology of a golem and is named Emet. Not sure what the golden cow has to do with technology? That’s more about false worship. Lastly, that’s not true about having to be born Jewish. In addition to accepting converts the entire concept of Tikkun Olam is about making the world a better place not just the Jewish world and much of that is secular. Regardless, I’m not saying there’s any connection to the Jewish faith I’m saying there’s parallels to Jerusalem and Jewish mythology (which at the very least is now canon with the robot)
I like how Oda has many different mythologies and religions aspects and not just one for one piece

Serious question, do you think Luffy's Gear 5 is increasing in time/duration like every after fight he's having? Like Goku keeps getting stronger or something to that effect.
Not sure. However, speaking of DBZ, and Bonnie's (extremely short lived) Nika transformation, The Grand Line Review described the possibility of a DBZ like scenario.
You know like after Goku went Super Saiyan, all of a sudden, all the other saiyans were able to easily achieve it
The Seal of Truth - EMET / EMETH / EMES - Name Origin
The sages sometimes say "the seal of God is truth," since the final letters of the three words that conclude the account of creation, i.e., בָּרָא אֱלהִים לַעֲשׂוֹת, bara Elohim la'asot ("God created to do" [Genesis 2:3]), spell the word emet:
https://www.hebrew4christians.com/Glossary/Word_of_the_Week/Archived/Emet/emet.html
wait so wtf is bonneys fruit, i thought it was an age fruit
is it some variation of the the time fruit
Well from what I understand.................
She can age herself into a future where she is the nika from what I understand
I love South Africa
oop
So robot gonna box the elders , strawhats get away yet again. Luffy and shanks meeting soon???
Oh and imu gonna get the belt for the 5 elders after this situation. Esp Saturn of all.
We just gonna allow this dude to say “that’s only something a Jew would say” lol?
I reported it but the mods haven't done anything yet lol. I find it best to ignore people like that, as giving them attention kills brain-cells. ✌️
What's some other things only "a certain race/religion/etc" can say? Don't say shit you might not like to hear on yourself bud
@warped lynx uhhh
Oppnion I genuenly think ussop will fight kizaru in the next marineford raid, just think about it he has some insane observation haki and i just dont know how he wouldnt get ptsd after saboady and almost zoro dying so much that when he is dout from getting 2v1d by kizaru and some other guy he will unlock armament and advanced observation and become to only one who can actualy fight against kizaru asides from moster trio.
We don't see Zunesha anywhere and huge elephant like that is kinda hard to miss. Most people assume it was a flashback just because it's not Luffy talking to the robot. I think someone else offscreen is doing that. No idea how they know the name of the robot. The giant robot seems to recognize Joyboy again and the words he hears just spell "listen, Emeth... in time of emergency..." which I interpret as someone telling him now is the time of emergency. Most people will think it's the robot having a flashback and that's fine too (in that case anime would have to cast a voice actor for Joyboy, that's exciting!), but what I described is also one of the possibilities.
My idea on conclusion of Egghead is that it will be a callback to Franky's Baldimore Incident. We know every base of Vegapunk has a self destruction mechanism installed and once Caesar pushed it on Punk Hazard which created a huge nuclear explosion. Franky caused it be accident too. Third time's a charm! It could add some weight to Vegapunk's phrase of "flying too close to the sun", because that suggests a deadly failure, which we didnt see happen yet. Mother flame exploding could be thing he meant, he created it but failed somehow (all Vegapunk's inventions seem to have a flaw), and he might have meant sun as mother flame. I will be a bit disappointed if Egghead doesnt end with an explosion...
My theory is that Dragon will teleport to Egghead after learning about mother flame and steal it from there and push some self destruct button to not let world government use the inventions of Dr. Vegapunk. Then Dragon might give Mother flame to Luffy who will eat it and gain permanent gear 5 or complete gear 5.
The elders mentioned that Luffy only has awakened "the white form" hinting that there might be more than one gear 5 forms like his three gear 4 forms. Luffy might get the yellow gear 5 form by eating the mother flame which can be seen as sun shining down on the world. Current gear 5 can be seen as the dawn of the world means the sun has just broken through the night then we will get the noon form meaning that sun is at its peak. Then we might get the last form in the end arc which would be the red gear 5 or Dusk form which will show the end of luffy's life as sun god giving him powers beyond imagination and sacrificing the devil fruit powers to save the world. Then Luffy might go on to get the one piece after being an ordinary but the most powerful human in existence.
Luffy himself called gear 5 his peak so I dont really expect more gears anymore. But who knows. As for the Dragon he seems not to be on his way, if he intends to drop by for a visit then he would better hurry up...
there is no gear 6 but there could be more forms
Luffy even said that he isn't a zoan so don't take his words by heart
PS- Luffy still doesn't even know that he has a mythical zoan fruit which inherits will of sun god. He still thinks that he has gomu gomu no mi
So this is partially based on a random dream I had last night but my brain may have been onto something. Basically, imu doesn't actually exist. The world government was taken over already decades ago by a pirate. What if Rocks D. Xebec has some ability to create illusions and gaslight people, and somehow was able to gaslight the gorosei into thinking they werent in charge and had them listening to a sillohette for the last 30 years or so. During the god valley incident, Garp discovered Rock's plan to take over the government but was defeated, and instead rocks gaslighted him into a seperate narrative that him and roger teamed up and defeated him and wiped his existence off the records. This made rocks unknown to majority of the world and he convinced the gorosei that this whole time they had to listen to a shadow figure and do horrible things, which would cause a revolution and cause the world government to collapse, therefore creating a world where pirates would be free to exist without being hunted.
Pirates free to exist without being hunted? Where can I sign up?
Nice theory
ye im not reading all ov that
Can I propose the apple tree theory? I have a theory that I don’t think is the best but it would be a pretty funny possibility.
So I have a theory that shanks gave Luffy the fruit on purpose. Why? To basically farm it. The gorosei are waiting for Luffy’s from to awaken so they can take it back in an awakened form, under the assumption that this isn’t a standard fruit. This is shanks connection to the gorosei, they want to use
This could answer why the navy didn’t kill Luffy at the most obvious moments. If the navy wanted to, they could kill the straw hats very very easily. They have an insane amount of manpower, even with the amount of people on Luffy’s side like dragon. The navy is on specific orders to spare him.
Feel free to critique or add on to this garbage theory, it’s 5:00 and I’ve been on 🍃
And maybe shanks isn’t a full snitch, maybe he gave Luffy the fruit because of his major connections. He did awaken the fruit, but he became more the wg could handle. This may be a choice by shanks. (Also making shanks evil would be bad for branding. Manga publishers choose brand over story)
Aokiji mentions this on his first run in with the SH.
There really is zero evidence of this and the theory may be severely out of order. Maybe shadow leader of wg wants to see happyboy again for some reason.
Whatever it is, I feel like the wg is holding back on Luffy by a lot. I’m interested on how this is going to play out with shanks and his connection to the gorosei
But at the pace one piece is going at rn I think 90% of the mysteries so far are going to be unresolved. Oda needs to retire and hire a successor, he’s obviously aging
anyone think its possible for a devil fruit to "spawn" in Nami's tangerine plants? could be an interesting plot point
we know there's no order to spare luffy, his wanted poster has dead or alive, we've seen with sanji that when they're wanted alive it only says "alive"
It’s been stated and proven that a ordinary fruit can turn into a devil fruit once a user dies.
That’s been a popular theory since Punk Hazard
I think the original version was that Nami would get Monet’s fruit
It’s actually convenient for the strawhats having living fruit with them. All that remains to be seen is when a fruit user dies in the strawhats vicinity. Monet did die though we have yet to see where her fruit ended up. Smiley’s fruit was seen being reborn in a sack of apples on punk hazard
maybe if the vaga punks escape they can put a devil fruit on one of zoros swords if a devil fruit was to be in there possesion!
they made that tec right, that prick from lobby had one if i remember correctly
Yeah, the first time we saw one was Mr 4’s gun
they're never gonna give a straw hat a df who don't already have one, doesn't seem to fit with odas style
valid point
stop cooking bro💀
‼️ I've noticed various theories on the internet about another JoyBoy being alive 200 years ago, but all of them seem far from the truth. Now, with the scene animated where the Iron Giant attacked Mary Geoise, we have new clues on how he managed to:
- Climb Mary Geoise without being spotted and somehow appear in the middle of the land without leaving a trail of damage.
- Be awakened for a short amount of time before being shut down due to a lack of power source.
- What his apologies are for.
‼️ Firstly, we have to consider the logic of it all. Did the robot sleep for 600 years, awaken for a few minutes, and then sleep for 200 years? And if so, where was he sleeping for that long? We saw in "Egghead" that the source which awakened the robot is actually the Drum of Liberation, a sound that can be heard through the voice of all things (Zunesha recognized the sound just by being in the vicinity of Wano, but the actual sound isn’t so loud). So, the robot is fueled by the drums of liberation, which are present only when Luffy or a previous user of the Nika fruit were in the "Gear 5" state. My theory is that the robot didn’t actually sleep for 600 years, awaken miraculously, climb the Red Line, and then attack Mary Geoise before shutting off.
Hear me out! We can all agree that 800-900 years ago, there was a great war that led to the victory of the World Government. I think that the nations allied with the ancient kingdom under the Flag of Dawn (the sun with 8 rays) declared war with the first 20 Celestial Dragons. Now that we know about the world sinking into the ocean, we can assume the goal of Imu and the others was to do a Great Cleansing on the world by raising the sea level and shattering the continent that was the ancient kingdom into many islands so that their control over them would be absolute… but this is a theory for another time. What I’m saying is that the robot was in JoyBoy’s army and fought on his side 800 years ago. So its initial goal was to attack Mary Geoise.
‼️ Secondly, a key factor in this theory is the Toki Toki no Mi fruit that can send you into the future. The only user we know of is Toki from the Void Century. But I think it’s stated that she grew up in different ages, so she possibly gained her abilities at a young age and escaped the Great Cleansing by going into the future. But if that’s so, then it means another user of the fruit or ability existed before her. (Her name is basically the fruit’s name, so maybe she was named after she ate the fruit as a baby).
What if in the ancient war, the robot was sent by a previous user of the Toki fruit into the future? It all makes sense. During the war, the robot was in Mary Geoise, exactly where he appeared 600 years later. His goal was the exact same then as it was 600 years prior, and also because JoyBoy wasn’t there, he shut down his power source.
We saw that the fruit teleports you to the same spot but in the future, and in the anime, we actually saw the robot somehow land in the middle of Mary Geoise and getting up from his knees, meaning that he was teleported there. We then saw him attack Mary Geoise and shut down; that’s because, logically, he was attacking Mary Geoise in the past fueled by the drums of liberation, and a few seconds later, he was sent 600 years into the future, and because the drums weren’t there anymore, he shut down. That justifies also how the robot has 800 years and it’s not even affected that much by age. I’m saying that the robot isn’t 800-900 years old but only 200-300 because he was teleported from the past 200 years ago.
‼️And finally, his message for JoyBoy: “I’m sorry, JoyBoy…” was actually his message before shutting down. He apologized because he couldn’t help him in the past, that’s what he realized after seeing JoyBoy fail and Mary Geoise still standing at the top of the world even after 600 years.
I 100% agree the robot is from the past, I'm just wondering why 600 years into the future, and if the robot came alone.
maybe Luffy's hat came with Emeth.
maybe, let's see what oda will cook
guys heres a theory: when zoro defeats mihawk, hes gonna ask ivan to make him a female, so that the worlds greatest swordsman with be a woman, just as kuina dreamed
but why 600 years?
you kinda cooked there, i was talking to my brother about the same thing and the iron giant being teleported into the future seems plausible and a really cool theory
That’d be kinda a cheap loophole unless he asked to be made a woman before he fought Mihawk and then beat him while being a woman
that could happen too, but hes gonna be significantly weaker (and i dont mean that to be sexist)
No

maybe the toki toki no mi is not that precise. You can't exactly choose how many years to jump in the future
20 years in the future was the prophecy that oden said, JoyBoy will return in wano. Hence the reason he wanted to open the borders. I say 19 years because momo and the others had spent a few months with the strawhats and had been on punk hazard for a while before meeting the strawhats. So 18-19 years sent in the future. There could also be that the return of joyboy wasn’t exactly foresought to happen after 800 years hence why the robot was sent 600. Roger made the assumption that 20 years after they find laughtale joyboy will return, but that could be based on the prophecy from fishman island that Poseidon Shiraoshi will be born after 10 years and after another 10 joyboy will return or something.
What if he asks Ivan to turn Mihawk into a woman and then defeat him? Zoro indiscriminate against women
2 kings aka birds, one stone
I think it’s insinuated that when a devil fruit user dies, the fruit respawns into the closest fruit
crack theory: mars got catapulted to the moon and this is how enel comes back into the story
Not my theory but this is a banger. It’s now a headcanon of mine.
if thats the case then why dont the government kill devil fruit users near an apple farm

what if caribou represents the theorized betrayal from 800 years ago
not enough people know the connection between this series and one piece
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mysterious_Cities_of_Gold
if you read short summary on the wikipedia page many of the parallels become alot clearer
theres alot of details missing from the page so it would be cool for someone to watch the series and recap all of the similarities they find
a few parallels i noticed just from the wikipedia page:
esteban - luffy, with his father being dragon
zia - robin
tao - unsure, cant think of anybody that would be descended from the ancient kingdom, could be introduced later
mayas, incans - the different races in the one piece world
the solaris - pluton, which i think could be the sunny (due to being built by franky, the only one who knows how to build pluton)
the golden condor - uranus, due to uranus being the god of the sky, obviously being connected to the flying ancient weapon
gomez and gaspard - 2 major players searching for the one piece, which i think are buggy and blackbeard, being the two most relevant characters actively searching for the one piece
7 cities of gold - poneglyphs
empire of hiva - wano
empires mu and atlantis - either is the ancient kingdom, however war broke out between them, both sunk into the sea
weapons of the sun - ancient weapons
the great legacy - the infinite power source that the mother flame tried to copy
estebans medallion - the straw hat, used to open laugh tale
mendoza - shanks
olmecs - the celestial dragons
menator - imu
the olmecs flying machine - the weapon which was used to destroy lulusia (both utilise a powerful particle beam)
ill try to come up with a substantial theory after looking into the series more, which i think alot more people should be aware about
woah
Would be crazy if Tao is Usopp
I found it finally. Its Morgans human form silhouette as shown in punk hazard. Fits or not, I leave it for everyone to decide on their own.
Which chapter
Chapter 692. But you can find glimpse of him in other punk hazard chapters too, while Caesar's black market broadcast it still ongoing
Alright gear 6 theory. Luffy is rubber 🤔 you know what also is rubber? Erasers. Luffy erases his enemies. Peak fiction loda
Now if that doesnt happen once or twice, I'm gonna cry
stop cooking bruh..

You’re just a hater
This is a perfectly valid theory (and a smart one too) Chrissy just hates to hate
if its so valid, how about you elaborate, bring some evidence that makes you think this aso because thats what this channel is for tbh, i have nothing against joke comments like this in #manga or #also-manga
Toon force + rubber = eraser why is this so hard to understand? And you think I’m joking? I’m dead serious
Chrissy waking up each morning getting ready to hate on amazing theories
Theory: imu is part of the three eyed tribe. Proof? Idfk
Debunked: we see only two glaring eyes. In fact those are the only features Imu even has visible
Her third eye is closed
All the time?
It will be a reveal
Theory: zoros gonna die. He still has his cursed sword
Can’t stop cooking with these theories
Pandaman is a hidden key, he was on one of the poneglyph, he was in rocks crew,
And he doesn’t know his age he says
If that were true you would see zunesha from the other side of the world💀
huh
One piece world has multiple moons
Then why do we see only one in the sky?
One piece world is huge
Thats not how physics work. If there are mutiple moons they would all be visible in the sky at night
They will look like stars, they are far away from earth. we already see enel on the moon. Or it can be that the one piece world is geocentric
Earth magnetic field couldnt stretch that far, they wouldnt be the moons anymore
Geocentric is still in realm of possibility seeing the strange model at Ohara. But I personally think one piece world is sun centric, just like ours
Geocentric world. Everything orbits the earth. You even a giant like Jupiter looks like a star. And trying to apply physics to one piece always makes me laugh. If oda wanted to make this happen he totally could
Many things we are shown in One Piece actually are based on natural laws and physics. Remember Kaido and Big mom falling into lava and just floating on surface instead of drowning or melting? Thats actually what happens in real life. Magma's surface is hard and can even break your bones if you fall on it like that.
And there’s also 11 foot tall people with zipper mouths that can jump on the air. Like I said, if oda wanted to, he will
Yeah a whole lot of magic science is included, but its often based on actual discoveries. Just because we have devil fruits that let you become a cartoon hero, doesnt mean everything is pure fantasy.
Well oda is constantly breaking in universe limits with new shenanigans. It’s just his style
Yea its like 7 or 8 times bigger then a normal one
Its 6 moons proven during the bustercall in robin backstory
Yu right @plucky sundial
idk I feel like there could be more to that since we only see one moon in the sky
like them being the other planets in the solar system on an earth centric model
makes a bit sense, cuz in god valley saint figarland was protecting the celestial dragons, and his own son [shanks] was in the treasure chest as a prize. Basically like shanks as their protector from then on, but roger, rox and garp came there resulting in shanks with roger
Hear me out guys, Luffy's next power up is gonna be the Mother Flame
interesting, you wanna elaborate? how would that look like, what kinda power would it give him?
Energy
You know how luffy always gets tired, won’t it give him infinite energy to fight or rekindle past memories?
Like joyboys memories
bro Luffy is joyboy, Joyboy isnt luffy ☠️
I mean the memories were passed/activated
dfs prob cannot pass the memories but sure do can pass wills
well, we can notice that Luffy can't harm the gorosei, none of his attacks had an effect, but for some reason only the Iron Giant can, i think the energy essence may be the reason.
i'm not sure about the power but i guess, he will be able to negate their regen or immortality( if they are really immortal)
there is also that myth about a boy who was so hungry that he mistook the Sun for a fruit and ate it. (I think it was Sun Wukong but i'm not sure)
did it?
hanuman but its also shown in many other countries i SUPPOSE(not about to claim that story or anything)
@gilded sun fair points, tbh he harmed them at least Saturn, but he just regened it
:O I just thought of an insane theory
What if mars was sent to the moon where Enel is, a in future chapters we get to see the fight and then later on enel comes with his army or in elbaf, and could the ancient kingdom, be what enel has been reviving on the moon, and the ancient robot will sense this or smth?
Thinking about how Bonney’s fruit works, I just remembered that Vegapunk quite literally explained it in chapter 1069, “Every devil fruit… …is a possibility for human evolution that someone desired!!”, “If only I could be like this… if only i can be like that!! All of those powers represent the many branches of the future of humanity!!!”.
And in a devil fruit whose powers have to do with age and the user’s “future”, this could potentially make Bonney on of the most powerful ability in One Piece
Theory: because oda showed a mockup of Nami with eneru’s fruit she will never get his fruit
Your cooking and you right, since Bonney use timeline/future with her imagination.
I don’t know if anybody else has shared this theory or not but my theory
Fishmen/Merfolk are relatively new in the one piece world.
Vegapunk mentioned that the world was flooded during the void century and a bunch of different civilizations were destroyed. What if the people who lived in those civilizations weren’t just killed from the flooding but instead went through some sort of forced rapid evolution and became the fishmen/merfolk of current times. We know the one piece world isn’t the same as our world and what if they were able to evolve within only a matter of couple hundred years. The main reason why I think this is possible is how they mentioned previously how fishmen were once seen as just fish not fish MAN and this could be because they were “non humanoid” and “different” but what if it was cause they were new and unfamiliar. Because we have seen many different races of people who dont look “normal” (long arm, third eye people, minks and if Zoan type fruits existed back than, Hybrid Zoan users) but they weren’t as discriminated against as fishmen so I think the reason for the intense discrimination was because the fishmen/merfolk race is a relatively new race to the one piece world, one born during the void century.
What about Poseidon, Joyboys friend? From what we’ve seen so far it’s safe to assume that:
- Poseidon was a mermaid (they all fish men) 🧜♀️
- Poseidon obviously existed during the void century and before the supposed flood
NGL, this came to me in a dream and didn’t do more research before posting lmao
But just a thought, what if the fishmen then were like a hidden race? (I’m grasping at straws to see if there’s a way for my theory to make sense)
Kind of like a “lost city of Atlantis” kind of vibe. Like during the void century fishmen/fishmen island was like folklore
I don’t think the void century would have spurred even more races as we now know that they were more civilizations that existed before. We can see how multiple races such as the Buccaneers and the Lunarians were close to extinction. There might as well be other races we haven’t heard of who are now extinct.
The last road ponegliff will be on elbaph, which would explain why nobody has a copy and therefore cannot reach laugh tale. No reasonable pirate dares fuck with shanks.
so Shanks went to FMI, took it and brought it to Elbaf? what about the man with the burn scar?
Valid point, but be don't know anything abt elbaph so you never know
im not saying you are wrong, just asking
Either he has it or the wg has it. The man with the burn scar could be a giant or an accomplice of shanks. Or in the wg
what still makes me wonder is the whole deal with the black ship and the whirpools that appear apparently
Yeah I wanna know what's up with that
IM COOKING YOUR JUST A HATER
I’m so sorry
Bro mb i misread
Ur good ur good
just a few thousand years ago sea levels were up to 120 meters lower than they are now... it all makes sense now
i think its dragon but with one piece you honestly never know
200m 👀
yeah but its not that far off
sudden large change in the ocean that flooded a lot of land
I meant humans turning to fishmen not fish turning to fishmen
I said “what if the PEOPLE who lived in those civilizations weren’t just killed from the flooding but instead went through some sort of forced rapid evolution”
I was saying how they were seen as just fish. Like they weren’t seen as people with rights they were seen as the same as fish, their life value was not greater than that of a regular fish
But like I said, I woke up and wrote this immediately after because of a dream so sorry if the grammar and it isn’t fully making sense lol I was like 10% awake just typing
Plus the other homie already debunked it anyways haha
also something of note i recently found out, although it may not be significant:
sky islands do exist irl although not in the literal sense, in biogeography an insular piece of mountainous land can be referred to as a 'sky island' and supports life forms that have evolved drastically differently than their outside counterparts
Because they already exist from the start, fishman/mermaid, Animal tribe, Winged People/Skypea/Shandian/Lunarian,Which is already existed long ago
Like we know lunarian came from the moon and there other tribe too like buccaneer that also even existed, even the fucking mermaid/fishman is also existed which Poseidon also exist long ago.
The people are a real race not some human experiment
The thing is that those tribe could happen because of human mixed with other tribe
Such ass there giant married to human.
Which is Buccaneer that human with giant blood.
this is actually a good theory as when livable land decreases species can often be seen searching for new places to live
though i should note that fishman island was allied with joyboy in the war <- kinda like what the person above said
one thing of note is if the people of skypea and others came from the moon and they are races of human and not different species then that would mean this all happened after humans went to and lived on the moon, it would also have to be for pretty long if they want to develop changes such as wings and antenna
Yea haha I thought this was a home run theory until somebody reminded me of that part haha but maybe if we throw it back to Nika times haha but I’m kinda grasping at straws to see if this could possibly work
in the end we may never know until oda reveals it, and only speculate (which is fun)
SWORD being a branch less affected by traditional rules makes me think they’d be willing to team up with pirates. Like the straw hats. They share a common interest in saving garp
ODA BUSTED MY THEORY IN THE SBS
But he did give more credence to Spandine probably being the Cipherpol equivalent of Fleet Admiral, since he was even able to make his son chief of CP0
Isn't the fleet admiral the incharge of the navy instead of commander in chief
commander in chief: navy and cipher pol
fleet admiral: navy
"cipherpol equivalent of fleet admiral": cipherpol
Read the first two words like….
it hasnt been stated that the latter position exists, but considering control over cipherpol is really the only thing separating Kong from a fleet admiral, there is probably a "head of cipherpol" position
I think I managed to answer your question Zuko, though you phrased really weirdly, so I had some trouble interpreting it
I cant blame the guy, he had just drawn Hanafuda afterall 👌😩
I doubt he’s a giant. Otherwise he’d be referred to as the giant with the burn scar
Nobody saw him directly, why would he be called a giant
Giant can also be a Man.
A Man With a Burn Scar/Flame Mark.
It could be anyman.
Where have you ever seen anywhere where they referred to a giant as just a “man”?
I’m pretty sure if someone saw a giant, they’d refer to he/she as a giant. So I’m pretty sure the man with a burn scar is not a giant
If that’s the case. Then I’ll be corrected
i think the man with the burn scar is monkey d. dragon as he also very often shows up in bad weather which relates to the statement of whirlpools around the all black ship which he also has
either that or someone we dont know of yet
I think it would be jaguar d. Saul because he literally got burned back at ohara
that could be it too
i have now also found out a seamount is kinda like an island for fish and other underwater inhabitants
Dragon would have given Robin the Poneglyph if he had it...
1- They started the fight because of O'hara
2- Robin is the last survivor of O'hara and the "light of the revolution "
3- Dragon want to avenge Clover
Make no sense to hide a rio poneglyph from Robin when he could have uncovered and discovered new knowledge thanks to robin.
I think Dragon knows more than he lets on to
Definitely, but not sharing a poneglyph seems like a plothole at best if he had one
True. If it’s him he’d probably have to be very, very valid reason
I agree that Oda is drawing a lot of inspiration from this anime and if he had to wrap the manga up in 5 years, this is probably the exact template. However, since he's changed a lot fo the story since then, I think with the introduction of Yamato and the development of her backstory, having the knowledge of the OP, I think Tao could potentially be Yamato. Yamato carries the one written proof of the one piece (Oden's journal) and has a lot of knowledge that's still relatively unknown to teh rest of the world.
Similar to Tao, I think Yamato will end up sacrificing herself to save the main group or maybe Wano from the greater evil.
we all know the trend of ussops lies ending up truths in retrospect
for example the giant gold fish with island sized poops or the land of dwarfs or fighting dinosaurs, now what was ussops greatest lie? the sniper king persona, my theory is that in elbaf we will meet a guy who is actually sniper king, down to the name clothing mask and slingshot
this sniper king will meet ussop before any other straw hats and will get along really well. so ussop's lie about sniper king being a friend of his will look true to all the other straw hats
and maybe there will even be a much smaller island right next to elbaf called the island of snipers where sniper king is found (and it's full of normal humans so the size isn't inconsistant)
Giant that sucks.... i think he means "person" with man
Hey everyone Please check out my theory on the Name of the Ancient Kingdom and tell me what you think, I put a lot of work into this theory https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/1dlh3mr/the_name_of_the_ancient_kingdom_is/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
What does romance is meaning to? Adventure? Story? Dream?
men and their fascination with robots
Romance dawn, the first chapter title?
Mont Blanc Cricket: "Isn't that romance?", when he saw Luffy silhouette after ring the bell.
Love is an adventure and a conquest. It survives and develops like the universe itself only by perpetual discovery that's why its called romance
Because the love/passion of what we want to do.
Dr hiriluc is xebec
Blackbeard went to Drum Island for some reason as shown by Ace, he clearly has a relation with Xebec and an idolization for him thanks to Blackbeards ship even being named “the blight of rocks” or something like that, xebec and hiriluc having very similar ideologies, Blackbeard also ties in with the “Dreams” thing.. hiriluc would be 32 years old at the time of the incident. It would make sense if Blackbeard was a disciple of Xebec after the incident, and maybe he wanted to see if Xebec was still alive when he went to visit drum island idk. Blackbeard would be 4 when the god valley incident happened?
@odd sleet I assume he went to Drum island because without an eternal log pose to his destination, he just had to go to whatever island his log pose pointed to.
His ass blew up in Skypiea anyways and he was at drum for more than a day right? So it probably registered
I wonder if the "void century" was caused by Pudding's memory fruit. Some sort of ancient tech that amplifies Devil Fruits could allow it to wipe the memories of people around the world... But the indestructible Poneglyohs would allow the knowledge to pass on.
We've seen that Enel's ship, Maxim, could enhance his devil fruit power and fly. I don't recall any explanation for how Enel was able to design the ship. Maybe Maxim is a prototype of the ancient weapon Oranos/Uranus, or even a replica built off the plans like how Franky had the plans for Pluton. Maybe Oranos can supercharge any devil fruit (?) when powered by the Mother Flame instead of Enel's electricity, and then that powered up Memory fruit wiped out everyone's memories.
Well blackbeard always does something for a purpose no matter how random. His attack on the Drum Kingdom was part of something big….and if hirilic was related to xebec as part of the rocks pirates, it would make sense as to how dr kureha knows about the will of d. I mean the woman said she never went out to sea before the reverie, so how did she become aware of the d? Either she met a d carrier or someone told her.
Another reason why blackbeard attacked drum would be for its medical knowledge…I mean if he was searching for a lost crew of the rocks pirates then going all out would not make sense.
xebec wasnt a bad guy
Vegapunk will be on both sides of war
potentially the mass brainwashing by puddings fruit could be due to its Awakening?
we've already seen that he's definitley not on the 20 kingdoms/World government side, the WG literally killed him for it
true
The final war is going to start by imu making the goa kingdom disappear after idk… some uprising. Dragon, Sabo, Luffy, Garp are all from there so it will spark some civil war.
HELP MY HANDS I CANT STOP COOKING
I mean garp has been probably wanting to leave the navy for a while
But what if he means that satellites of Vegapunk will be on both sides of the war? It works with York being on the WG side already, and of course there’s the other surviving three that could possibly be on the SH’s side.
Vegapunk york on world government side
York will probably serve the wg but I imagine it'll be more of a slave labour thing
Elbaf and Valhalla - the gateway to the Realm of the Dead
Elbaf and the giants draw inspiration from vikings and Norse mythology and Valhalla is where fallen warriors gets to rest. The giants we have seen like Dorry and Brogy are fierce warriors who don't fear Death and they also laugh alot. This trait is very much shared by Luffy and could be seen as Joyboy and Sun God Nika and the giants share the same beliefs.
In Norse mythology Odin is said to be the Guardian of Valhalla and I believe the giants regard Sun God Nika the same, as being the Guardian of Valhalla. I think the great tree Adam is very important as I think the gateway into the land of the Dead is conneted to the great tree and could be where Devil Fruits originate from. In Wano we briefly saw Lufy in gear 5 physically grab a bolt of Lightning which is a reference to Odin.
We have seen both Zunesha and the giant Robot holding the soul of Emeth which was close to Joyboy which leads me to believe that Joyboy can guide Dead souls into other objects which further indicates that the Nika fruit has the ability to manipulate souls. These souls could be resting in "Valhalla" the realm of the Dead and Sun God Nika can interract with the realm of the Dead.
One way to guide souls we have seen before and that is by ringing the Bell of Shandora in Skypea. Song, dance and laughter could be a way that Joyboy uses to similarly guide souls and it very much ties to Vikings and the Giants who loves to feast and laugh.
i think the reason why big mom gained the powers of the old woman she ate was because she consumed her loodline element/lineage factor like the seraphim, which would also mean that the soul-soul fruit could still be out there
Wouldn’t grabbing lightning be a reference to Thor, not Odin
But when is Luffy gonna reach his peak for haki!?!?
Hey man there could be god haki 20 years from now i hope You know what i mean
In my opinion Luffy has already reached his peak. I doubt anything further could be done .
I don't think so, we saw Shanks make an admiral flee with conqueror's when he wasn't even on the island of Wano. For ppl like Shanks and Mihawk to be able to compete with someone like Kaido, I think there needs to be higher levels of haki
I believe he would improve just by experience. There isn't any higher level.
Just my opinion, it might be wrong.
Even if it were possible, I don't want it. Every new power ruins One Piece. Kaido mentioned that Roger conquered a world with Haki. While Kaido has great Haki, he lost the battle because of Luffy's Devil Fruit. That Kaido also killed Luffy. If Oda introduces a new Haki power, we will see other characters from previous arcs using that Haki.
I don't really agree, I think haki was a positive addition to the series and I've enjoyed the new layers to it that Oda has added
To be fair. He lost to a mythical type devil fruit after fighting for multiple hours against different people all while carrying onigashima on his dragon cloud. Luffy is also relentless. Luffy also kinda struggled to beat him in his Gear 5 mode. So it’s kinda reasonable as to why he lost
For some reason, the strawhat's actual purpose is that it generates or enhances conquer's haki. Think about it. Who wore the hat? Just The greatest haki users known to us...
The Strawhat definitely means more than that. The people who wore the hat have similar characteristics apart from just being powerful. The Hat itself signifies something bigger
true
I have a theory that borsalinos fruit caused him to be a bit… sped… Some devil fruits have alternate curses and I think the moving at the speed of light fucked up his brain a bit
I think it would be great if Oda could be added to the story right after the time skip. But maybe there are a few characters we don't see yet. I've already seen most of the characters, and I can guess what they could do. After seeing Blackbeard has enormous haki and fight to Luffy's head-to-head, what should I think ? Is Blackbeard more powerful than Kaido, Shanks, or even Admirals?
I rank Blackbeard at about admiral level rn
He seemed nervous at the prospect of fighting Aokiji, and wanted no part of fighting Rayleigh (though Rayleigh admitted he would lose due to age)
respect your decision man great answer btw
Me too but not the same level. This dude is a pirate. If he thought he has more powerful, he would have fought the marines without hesitation.
then why do you think kaido and big mom did not fight the marine head on
They don't want to be king of the world. Blackbeard has a different motivation than others. That is why he is as dangerous as Rocks. Kaido just want to be death and Big Mom already achieved his dream (I guess).
but still we do not know the actual purpose of blackbeaed or his dream
Van Augur said "the world".
makes sensein that case i shall completly agree with you
Thank you brother
Thats not exactly true. Once Kaido and Big Mom teamed up, they declared that their goal was to find the One Piece and most likely to rule the world since thats what Rocks wanted and they were both part of his crew, even the Marines referrred to them as the "reunion of Rocks"
Although they want to rule the world, they are not opposed to world government. Blackbeard used Devon for Saturn Appearing. And right now Mary Gorosei is empty. Big Mom and Kaido are really great pirates, but they just want to live their lives. They have a huge continent, and they have already accomplished most of the things.
Finding One Piece does not make you the ruler of the world. You just know the world, nothing else. Roger conquer the sea but still he just a pirate not ruler. Blackbeard like Rocks really want to conquer the world.
Well we know that Kaido at least wanted to take down the celestial dragons, he believed that the strong should rule and considered the CDs to be weak
If I am not mistaken, he want it because the king want to Kaido join the navy because of the tax? The reason why he want to take down the celestial dragons ?
Yes he was offended and traumatized by the king using him as a political tool, but we also see later on him saying that the CDs don’t deserve to rule bc they are weak and spoiled
What if Blackbeard actually ate 3 Devil Fruits? It is rumored that Blackbeard ate another devil fruit in his past alongside the two he already has now. What does this Devil Fruit do? It gives Blackbeard 3 different souls. Ever noticed how Blackbeard's teeth has 3 different appearances? Ever noticed why Blackbeard's flag has 3 skulls? In Blackbeard's past, we hear that he never sleeps. How is this true? It's simple. Blackbeard switches souls giving him different teeth and him not sleeping. Blackbeard's beard has 3 ends and he's been seen carrying 3 pistols. This third Devil fruit could be the reason as to how Blackbeard ate 2 Devil fruits. It's simple. The 3 souls mentioned can wield a Devil fruit power since they're souls and every soul of a person can take the power of one Devil fruit. This is a theory, being the third devil fruit name being unknown.
3 headed dog?
One piece : Manga chapter "Spoiler "
Luffy transforms into base and looks a bit more serious: so that's what I had noticed … Gear 5 is crazy strong but sometimes it feels like someone else is trying to take over.
We see chopper thinking of his monster point: Luffy, there are ways to control the will of your devil fruit! But it might take a lot of time.
Luffy is looking with a very serious face into the direction of the elders. We see two small flashback panels of Sentomaru and vegapunk getting attacked “I couldn't protect axe guy and apple guy while using gear 5. There is no time, I need to control this form no matter what! Otherwise I can't protect my friends!
Yep
wat if the first devil fruit he ate allowed him to eat two more devilfruitsthat being dark and quake
thats what i mentioned
you mean the three headed dog
alright
do yall think the sinking world revelation alludes to these conspiracies about an ancient sunken civilization near okinawa japan?
Could also be an octopus since an octopus has 3 hearts and each heart is 1 soul
I’ve seen the kraken floated as an idea
An Updated version of my Imu theory ive sent here a few months ago;
Imu can control the moon, and is connected to it in some way. Probably through eating a God DF
Obviously the Sun VS Moon symbolism that would be present in Luffy's fight with Imu inspires this theory (We know a Moon God exists because they are referenced during the flashbacks on Skypeia alongside the Sun God)
Part of controlling the moon is controlling the tides, and I believe The Great Cleansing is Imu's plan to drown the earth in more water, drowning most of the lower down countries and poorer men that are rebelling.* (Addendum; this was written before Vegapunks speech, and I was RIGHT about at least this, which made me so happy.)
The original great cleansing was during the void century. this is what Joyboy failed to stop. Noah's Arc beneath fishman island was a ship he created, intending to carry the people on a boat that would spare them from the first great cleansing. (This explains it being named for the actual Noah's Arc, which was used to carry survivors of God from the Bible's flooding of the Earth)
Imu's appearance as a figure in shadow is also due to their moon abilities. The Moon is only visible when reflected off the light of the sun, so Imu is only visible outdoors or if Luffy uses the power of the sun god on Imu. Why do I think this?
Imu is only ever seen indoors. We see Imu in a garden, playing with a butterfly, but not out in the sun. I think theres a reason for this, because im fairly certain Imu can afford a sunroof and there is a reason one our first glimpse at Imu is seen in an indoor outdoorsy area.
Imu is covered in shadow. You might think this is just to hide their appearance, but if it is, that's very abnormal for Oda, and seeing as this shadow continues when Sabo meets Imu (and Sabo does not describe Imu at all, leading me to think that the Shadow is a thing that actually exists in universe.)
Imu is hidden. In the world of OP i cant think of a reason for Imu to hide unless its something like this. People already accept the Celestial Dragons, the Dragons having a leader should not cause most people to immediately start revolting who weren't already.
Imu's appearance is definitely hiding something.
The reason I think this is hidden by the Moon God Fruit specifically is that Imu is always indoors, but seemingly wishes to be outdoors.
You see, the light from the moon is merely a reflection from the sun's light, the Moon has no natural light itself. Without the sun, it would be merely a shadow. The Moon, like the Celestial Dragons, and like Imu is merely a Parasite, feeding off the Sun's light. The Moon, Like Crocodile, Doflamingo and of course, Imu is hidden in the shadows, needing the Sun, or the Sun God to bring them to light. With this theory, I believe that becomes literally and metaphorically true.
All of this is to say I believe there is something monstrous about Imu's appearance that Imu is hiding with this shadow appearance which is also the reason why Imu has remained hidden. Luffy will expose Imu by using his nika powers to cast light on the shadow, and reveal Imu's monster form to the world.
I do not know if Imu will be able to transform into a monster like the five elders but I imagine that beneath the shadow that hides them is a monster far more horrifying looking. I believe that this form is some kind of Rabbit, and this is why.
The Gorosei are connected to Japanese Mythology, they are all Yokai. I searched for moon yokai, and found none that fit, but I realized that what a yokai actually IS has a very broad definition, so I decided to settle on simply just; Eastern folklore.
When researching for this theory I found that Eastern Folklore surrounding the Moon is often connected to rabbits. For example, the seemingly most popular bit of Moon based Japanese folklore is a rabbit, who lives on the moon and pounds mocchi with a mallet. (Might this be connected to Katakuri potentially being beaten by Imu? Or am I just bullshitting random connections to everything? Your mileage may vary)
Expanding from Japan a little into China leads us to Chang'e, who probably is the most likely moon myth to be taken as inspiration. Chang'e stole the elixer of life from her husband and escaped/was condemned to live on the moon with her pet Rabbit. This could mean Imu has a pet rabbit, but I think it’s more likely that Imu IS the Rabbit, considering that even if we discard the rest of my theory there is still some reason for Imu’s appearance to be hidden.
Based on the Chang’e story, this is my personal theory for Imu’s backstory.
Whoever Imu's husband was possesed the Ope Ope no Mi and Imu "stole life" from him by forcing the man to perform the immortality surgery on Imu. The Husband in this story may have been connected to Joyboy? Maybe a member of his crew? I think this backstory makes sense. Perhaps Imu ended up eating the Moon Fruit later, or before, or perhaps the “being condemned to live on the Moon” part of the story involves the husband (or Joyboy!) forcing Imu to eat the Moon God Fruit, trapping Imu as a rabbit.
(Perhaps, like Luffys DF, being a rabbit is all the fruit is until it awakens. I think with 800+ years of youth you could probably learn to hold Awakening for 90% of the time, but that's just speculation and not actual evidence.)
TLDR; I believe Imu's fruit would give them some control over the Moon. This control would allow Imu to move the tides (Great Cleansing), possibly change day into night and control shadows.Imu would use this ability to cloak their appearance in shadow while out of the sunlight. Luffy will use Nika powers to bring Imu to the light, and force them to be viewed in their true form; a monstrous rabbit beast.
What do any of you guys who care enough to read all that think?
I'll update this theory probably to include Zunesha and more Joyboy but ultimately this is the core of my theory
I'll turn it into a YouTube video so its more readable and not a huge wall of text. but what do you guys think about it? how can I update it or improve it before that?
Monstrous rabbit beast? What about this?
Moon DF?
Did you do more research first? About imu?
We already got some clue about imu form. But about Moon thing without some fact its baseless and also the moon thing.
There alot of moon in OP.
Moon also a place where Winged people first live there.
And how imu can controll the moon? I doubt imu can do it.
And about cleansing drowning we know its all because of what happened in ancient war
Where all the ancient weapon that time was used
Created all the chaos and the drowning and the destruction of the ancient kingdom that lead all the continent to drown and we know why OP world become so fucked up cause of the ancient war.
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Nerona_Imu
Even though its a just a theory but baseless fact its useless Also before you try to connect it all with chang'e thing there no connection to it tbh.
Even if you try to connect it to Tsukuyomi Mikoto (Goddes Of Moon) its still has no connection.
And also this.
This would be perfect and round out his three giving him a zoan fruit…
exactly
hi guys so ihave been thinking abt some dragon theories can you gimme some
i've heard some think he already has the ancient weapon Uranus which controls the weather. if not his devil fruit that does it
good one but i feel like it is too general i want soethink juicy
some speculation that he's a former marine like admiral or CP0. not a lot to go off for that tho. akainu seems to have some familiarity with him
nice something like this would decently work just asking cause thre is a competition in my school
if he's the "man marked with flames" talked about by kuzan, then he likely has the final road poneglyph. which kinda makes sense narratively to give luffy incentive to interact with him before the end
could easily see that being the case, & his face marking is a scor from a battle with akainu or something
Why the hell dragon will be the man marked with flame?
That doesn't make sense.
He doesn't even know about those last Poneglyph.
And he is the leader of REVOLUTION which we know that hes role now was to lead em to war against WG, and They already making they're move now by cutting the supplies food in mary geoise and ready to attack.
And also its just a tattoo not a battle scar from Akainu.
Dragon also is just a marine we dont know what rank he is when he in marine since his age is the same as Akainu.
And when god valley accidents happen dragon age is probably already 17
And when Ohara attacked we know Dragon already create a revolutionary and hes not in marine whileVice young Akainu is still in marine as Vice when Ohara incident happened.
"marked by flames" might not necessarily mean burned but think it's more likely to be saul since he was in hiding all bandaged up after elbaf burned. kid mentioned knowing more about it & planned toward elbaf when they all split. kid pirates got crushed by shanks before gettin to elbaf tho
We already have a clue about the marked flame
"Black ship", " Whirlpool " Etc, but the thing is that its just BB pirate making speculation/hearing someone story about it.
If the thing is true then need just to guess who is it, because the thing "last Poneglyph" Is holding by old era people and we know the old era that literally goes to laugh tale was only roger pirate
And the Black Ship is Xebec with their Jolly Roger "Skull with Fire" Its still a theory.
But its more look like a horn devil horn
black ship, whirlpool on it's own makes me think dragon cause his ship was black/brown in manga/anime & he's done kinda similar weather control type stuff but not sure yet
Like i said before that doesn't make sense for him to have the last Poneglyph.
Also his ship is not black.
In anime his ship was Gray.
Not pitch black
it looks black in the manga panels but less so in the anime
that could definitley still be a rabbit, it's a shapeless blob (the only feature is a snout, which rabbits do have) it's not actual evidence for imus form being anything
I'm aware that there are civilisations on the moon in op, that doesn't change my theory, I need to add parts to it though about that, true, but as I said this isn't finished
with an awakened god df, like I said the whole time
we actually know the opposite, we know that the ancient weapons were NOT used by imu during the void century, we know that they were intended to be used to by Joyboy
and I'm not sure how imus name meaning "god and buddha" is evidence that they don't have the moon god df, in fact it seems the exact opposite, it seems like evidence for it
you can argue that the chang'e connection IS baseless, and frankly it is
but we know imu is connected to Eastern Mythology in some way, and of all of the many stories (including tsukuyomi mikoto) that I researched it fits most cleanly. Primarily I bring it up as another example of The Moon being connected to Rabbits in Eastern folklore and it also features Chang'e being both immortal and cursed, the connection is baseless but it does slot in nicely
Do we know that Imu is connected to Eastern Mythology? I thought most connections basing them on Eastern Mythology was speculation that their power is Umi which has no basis yet? Please correct me if I am wrong. There are a lot of chapters to think about. One could also speculate that they are based off of Im who is from Norse Mythology.
The Gorosei are based on Yokai from Eastern Myth, so most people (including myself) believe that Imu will follow this trend
Eastern Myth?
its scrambled. Some are Japanese, Some are chinese myths, and ju peter is ??? I don't know if we ever figured that one out.
Yes some of them is Mixed Japanese and Chinese, but to ju peter there probably alot of refrence for it.
exactly, that's why I expanded from merely using Japan in my theory and used all Mythology from those countries
Imu being a rabbit but imu has that devil tail your speculation is weak.
No proof about imu connect as rabbit and even the "MOON".
No fact.
No Proof.
it's a theory, it would not exist if there was exact proof, but I think the reasoning behind believing it is sound
- it lines up with imus power (when has imu had a tail??)
- imu avoids the outside yet seems to long for it
- the Moon and rabbits are connected in Eastern Myth
- the chang'e story fits very nicely into imus past
1.the pic i send is the proof imu tails.
2.imu avoid outside because imu need to keep secret of his existence.
3.NO PROOF IMU CONNECTED.
4.still no proof.
Even though its just speculation
Also this shit doesn't look lile rabbit at all
Also Joyboy didn't used it but He want to passed the ancient weapon, and 20 Ancient king take that Ancient weapon.
Thats why you know uranus is in the hand of WG because they used it while 2 other was scattered.
And your funny jf you saying Buddha making your thing about moon DF is strong
But yes Nerona Mean God.
Thats why we know now those Celestial Dragon Act like a God,and also imu.
But the thing is that yes they're special with "god" In their meaning dont know what god but its still doesn't make your moon df thing theory strong.
I don't think this is a tail, it pokes out from a place that a tail reasonably couldn't poke out from
it could be, but I don't think oda makes that kind of perspective mistake
why does imu need to hide their existence? the Celestial Dragons having a leader isn't exactly earthshattering, and imu could definitley wander around mariejois at the bare minimum
imu is luffys thematic opposite, imu likely has a God Fruit, imu avoids sunlight and appears as a shadow, etc.. there's no PROOF but there's evidence
there is no proof, but it's speculation and it fits nicely
we know the Kings did not take the weapons, because the WG doesn't have it
we don't actually know that the wg has uranus??
we know that sengoku has the Buddha fruit, so all it really means is imu has a God Fruit
and yeah we don't know, that's what this theory is about
Sure.
Buddha is a man. Not a god.
yes but the first section of that name is god
the second section is Buddha, but seeing as sengoku has the Buddha fruit, this means little for imu
oda has a million ways he can make dragon and luffy interact lol
hi! Why am i the only guy who thinks Buggy will get some sort of powerup that can change the story? Because I beleive that buggy has been a major role, Roger pirate crew member and his devil fruit (Chop Chop) may possibly be an underlying zoan fruit Cuz if u think about it, Gomu Gomu and Bara Bara equate from the same features. And the df has not been awakened yet as u can see but it was strong enough to withstand mihawks base attacks from the yoru
https://screenrant.com/one-piece-confirms-five-elders-can-swim-devil-fruit-weakness/
This person either cooking or burning the kitchen
hey guuuys i have a theory, if Joyboy is The god of freedom, maybe joyboy from the past is defeated because of his allies slowly drifting their hope of freedom to joyboy. since thats where the god of liberation's power came from, liberation/freedom. and thats explains why the giant robot is apologizing to joyboy.
Any thoughts guys??
Burning
If luffy name is Monkey D luffy. What kind of mokey he is.. Champanzeee??
Chimpanzees are actually apes not monkeys
But monkeys are actually Chimpanzees so how does that add up?
I saw a theory that says that one of the strawhats will get the paw-paw fruit at the end of egghead, since each syllable of the strawhats who have a fruit give a number (go = 5, mu = 6, gomu gomu is luffy’s devil fruit) the numbers 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are already taken, leaving 2 and 9, which makes Nikyu, Kuma’s devil fruit. Since he is already hurt, chances are he’ll die and the fruit will appear in nami’s tangerine groves and since the next arc , elbaf, has ussop in the spotlight, he could be the one to eat it
1 luffys fruit is the human human fruit model neka
2 how why would ussop get the paw paw fruit
Really cool and based off the Devil Fruit ability, it actually makes perfect sense to me that ||Bonney can transform into Nika form||;
I LOVE the idea that Devil Fruit abilities are basically purely based on imagination; "This is how dinosaurs used to hunt" (Pterodactyl: Pulls its head back and shoots its beak and head at the target), "These are the abilities of a Triceratops" (Turns its shield in a circle so it can even fly) (Brachiosaurus: Leaves its legs and shoots itself at its target like some kind of oversized snake) or something like that; Actually yes COMPLETE bullshit what Oda was spouting.
However, with the explanation that devil powers are primarily limited by one's own imagination and that most people's imagination is limited to what they know or assume, characters impose limitations on themselves that wouldn't actually exist with a mindset like Ruffy has*;
||With enough imagination, can't EVERY devil fruit theoretically take on a Nika form? Do Flamingo, for example, could create an image of himself in Nika form, because why not? Similar principle is applicable to super many other fruits, some even with possible influence on NON-Devil Fruit users; The Hormone Fruit, for example, could allow you to give yourself and other people "freedom hormones", which 'hormonally removes' creative restrictions while altering bodies to give it Nika-like properties. Or even better: The sick-sick-fruit; this is able to produce bacteria and viruses, which in our society are (unfortunately) primarily associated with negative symptoms, as we are more likely to notice 'bad' pathogens than those that keep us healthy, although the latter are BY FAR predominant; be that as it may; Doc Q. could create a "Nika 'disease'" or a "Nika pathogen" (I love this play on words with "pathogen" in the sense of "excite"/bring forth feelings) with the same or perhaps even more logical and less creativity-requiring effect as in the case of the hormone fruit.||
And that's all wonderfully covered by this interpretation of how devil fruit works at its core!
*Note that even Luffy is still setting himself for example Time Limitation on his Nika Form that can simply be a result of imagining that there needs to be a limitation based off how insanely strong G5 is => He imagines a Limit, so there will be a limit
Since the next arc will have a certain focus on ussop
smart idea but the reason why they cant is because the fruit is a zoan type devil fruit and its baised on the sun god nika and there for not all devil fruit users can tranform into nika
Who decided that
Even a Mouse Devil Fruit user might be able to imagine that Mice could be (virtually) omnipotent
This all depends on how (un-)far a user's mind is bound to logical concepts
Vegapunk and big mom had a kid and that’s perosberos
Alright, i cant shake it, its the eyes
the way dragon is seemingly blind
the way shanks haki always comes with his glare
the way figarland wears glasses now
the way shanks and crew freak out when luffy nearly gouges one of his out
how imu, zunesha, mihawk, and hakuba all seem to allude to the eyes being uber significant
how luffy seemingly gains a ring when he goes gear five
how the goroseis all have the same nearly vertical eye motif that literally shows up in ch1 on Higumas lapel
how zoro has some eye shit going on that literally hasnt been addressed for over half the story
how there is a mysterious three eye tribe that seemed to be big moms shortcut to the one piece
how weve never seen another of the three eye tribe
but maybe the most being sakazuki
I think the eyes are the key
i think dragons eyes are in luffy, i think its where he gets his conq haki
I think its why he doesnt care to know how luffy is doing, hes watching whats happening, he knows
I think shanks knows how important those eyes are
I think shanks has garlings eyes and is cavorting about the planet with a haki trump card (likely akin to sanji being a failed experiment that eventually stepped into the powers that were intended to be present since birth
and as much as i would absolutely love for zoros eye powerup to just be him opening his eye to have depth perception again, Im almost want to posit that mihawk is of the three eye tribe and gave zoro his third eye. Really my only concrete connection for this, is how Pudding almost has two distinct personalities that go from sweet and charismatic to absolute depraved bloodthirsty dr jekyl/mr hyde with the only other character that can be an allusion to being Cavendish/Hakuba
Hakuba being a world renouned swordsman that kills anyone and everything it can, but only comes out at night/sleeping in a vampire/dracula motif, all while hakuba is sporting the same eye motif as mihawk. with no other lead for third eyes, i cant help but make the connection
I believe the reveal of the One Piece will create world peace for our world.
Oda cut his work out for us.
frankly i think one piece is the ultimate execution of the dada style/movement
utilizing a blending of nostalgia and absurdity to create antiwar pieces
something to the tune of "a mans childhood stuffed bear will forever invoke more emotion than the mans country flag"
Like, i think Oda specifically is very versed on the ideology and history of the movement, one of the few magazines published in europe at the time was Der dada, which always made me think of the dum dut dada nika beat,
another titled 'Everyman his own football'
hell, the name of the movement has multiple stories to pin down the meaning of it, some saying it being one of the first words a child says, another saying a letter opener was stuck in a french dictionary and the word for hobbyhorse was picked at random, most think it was intentionally left meaningless and picked as gibberish specifically to make you think about it
definitely makes me think of a particular moniker...
either way it was founded by artists who felt the human spirit obliterated out of them thanks to the war, who would meet and plan art meant to disrupt and encourage new angles of thought when it came to king and country
""A reviewer from the American Art News stated at the time that "Dada philosophy is the sickest, most paralyzing and most destructive thing that has ever originated from the brain of man." Art historians have described Dada as being, in large part, a "reaction to what many of these artists saw as nothing more than an insane spectacle of collective homicide".[25]
Years later, Dada artists described the movement as "a phenomenon bursting forth in the midst of the postwar economic and moral crisis, a savior, a monster, which would lay waste to everything in its path... [It was] a systematic work of destruction and demoralization... In the end it became nothing but an act of sacrilege.""
all that to say, if Oda is a dadaist, then you are absolutely correct in that hes trying to convey a system of peace
an artistic anti war nuke, so to speak
I have an theory of Toritoma being luffys mom by an dumb theory
basically i decoded her name by
Tori = bird
to = and
ma = other then mom i found Sun
bird and sun
knowing dragon was once a fish (judging by the name of kaidos fruit)
and fish is birds prey
luffy is the joyboy rn
and dragon was the once prey of who? toritoma
maybe she died because of sickness after giving birth?
how is dragon blind
how do you know that in the world of One Piece, dinosaurs didn’t hunt like that in ancient times? it’s oda’s world, he can say whatever he wants. from my perspective there’s no reason to disbelieve Queen/Sasaki/King when they say their zoan animals could do the wacky things they do
how does doffy get to a nika form with his fruit? or a logia or zoan user?
its only a theory but its not one i came up with.
The only reasons i give it any weight, is that time when dragon puts his hands on the desk and says, 'what is this' despite it being (i think) a wanted poster of luffy
the other reason is that when oda has been drawing dragon lately, he uses the same shadow hash marks over his eyes as he does under his nose and chin,
visually, to me, that means they are as important to his sensory observations as the skin under his nose and chin,
he identifies vegapunk by his massive head at o’hara
he also didnt have his face tattoo yet, or sent kuma to see vegapunk.
Had a similar thought but recently Oda confirmed it’s still 56 (when he paints the baseball bat in this arc it was still 56) and luffy still says gomu gomu
The other fruit people have theorized is Enel’s
ok and ? dude uses his eyes in nearly every panel we see him, he’s constantly looking at someone or looking somewhere. he doesn’t act in any way like a blind man. he pours drinks for sabo while he tells them what happened in mariejois - how a blind a man supposed to do that?
have you ever met sakazuki?
he might have some echolocation shit, it might just be his haki, idfk, all i know is no other character consistently has their eyes shaded like this
what does sakazuki have to do with this
shaded eyes are a common way of showing superiority/strength in a character. it’s never done to show blindness lol
ok
I ate Enies lobby
gol d roger arrived to early cuz sogeking wasnt born yet
You cant be so sure ngl. I thought egghead would have more franky
I agree, oda could surprise us and give it to a random strawhat
I would never forgive him
i dont necessarily think hes blind but even if he was the points that you bring up make no sense the thing with the maybe wanted poster of luffy is so he doesnt get distracted from his work like when they went to dawn island and he told kuma that kids are a parents biggest weakness sure you could say he was using observation but luffy was damn far from them and how the hell would he know that its luffy

you are fine, i was just making you aware 👍
if you want to have some casual chit chat about that topic i would say go to #also-manga
franky focus was an assumption, ussop focus had a whole arc of set up
Mini Theory- Topman Warcury's Durability
Since he first came to Egghead, Topman has stood out among the other Gorosei. Luffy can't damage him with Red Roc or even in Gear 5. Does this mean hes the strongest? Maybe, maybe not. I still think it's Ju Peter as he's Gorosei no. 1.
But while brainstorming for another theory about Zoro and Sanji's Gorosei matchups in the endgame (maybe coming later), I realised something and had a 'You should've noticed sooner!!' epiphany. This isn't the first time we've seen something like this in the story, or even on Egghead.
In his Hoki form, Topman has flames constantly running across his back, much like the Lunarians and the Seraphim, and also has insane durability when attacked, with two key exceptions:
Firstly, when Dorry and Broggy were able to seemingly knock him back with their Sun Shield technique.
And second, when Emeth came out of the water and smashed him across the face.
What intrigued me about these two instances is that both times, Warcury was charging toward something, like how King's flame armour has to be deactivated to go super fast.
The flames are still present while he's charging, but Topman's flames should be superior, seeing as they not only blocked Luffy but also damaged him in the process, so it's not farfetched to think that even whilst in 'speed-mode', some of that durability is still in tact, he's not totally vulnerable, but a strong enough attack can get through to him.
Just food for thought, and could be relevant if I discuss my thoughts on Zoro and Sanji vs the Gorosei in the future as both have ties to the Lunarians.
@spiral kraken tell me
go to also manga, thank you
wdym?
Apologies if this has already been discussed but I wanted to get a little bit into a theory of Nico Robin actually also possessing a mythical human fruit.
I could easily see the connection to a thousand hand Buddha like Avalokiteshvara (or any other names for it) being the model.
Outside of the obvious thousand hand reference the thousand hand Buddha is known for being a god of compassion and spreading knowledge (a common depiction of this Buddha is the 10 head version for sharing information with man) which gets into her work as a poneglyph translator and being drawn to a crew that wants to reach the one piece and share with the world.
If this is the case I could see awakening her model lead to the ability to replicate herself across the world to spread the secrets of the poneglyphs / the one piece to everyone. Finally I believe this could also further make sense of why the world government is so concerned with eliminating her as her knowledge plus her theoretical awakened ability would essentially be the global broadcast they couldn’t stop as she could be everywhere at once.
Finally at a more base level it feels like Nico would need something of this scale to bring her relevance above a google translator with boobs, we know there are other routes to obtaining poneglyph translators and none of these characters have the same attention from the world government so I feel there must be something more than pettiness from her escape.
how is jupeter gorosei #1
You can see on the summoning circles they’re numbered 1-5 and Ju Peter is 1
who’s 2
I think it’s 1. Ju Peter 2. Nusjuro 3. Warcury 4. Mars 5. Saturn
are you sure ? that doesn’t really make sense to me, by feats* it’s pretty clearly warcury > vnusjuro > mars > ju peter > saturn
cause i know saturn was 5 but i don’t see clear numbers on any of the other summoning circles
also by position of the planets, warcury closest to the sun and saturn farthest. everyone else logically falls in to that order, ju peter really has no impressive feats compared to the other 3 and scales pretty directly below warcury based on how he’s taken luffy’s hits
I didn’t say I agree with it, but that appears to be the order on the circles
They’re kinda hard to see but ppl have zoomed in on the panels and you can see the shape of the numbers. Of course we don’t know if the numbering is a strength ranking, it could be the order in which they joined or smth else. I personally think Nusjuro will be the strongest but Ju Peter does seem to have the #1 circle
They're hard to make out but you can see the numbers on the circles. The same order has also been shown for the Gorosei multiple times including when introducing their yokai forms, going from Saturn down to Peter from their very first appearance.
Portrayal does make Warcury, Nusjuro and Mars seem the most competent, but you really gotta think about which Gorosei you give number 1 to as Oda.
Peter betraying Imu is also a popular theory that I subscribe to (Morj made a video on it yesterday too) which would leave Venus and Warcury at the top anyway.
(So maybe Peter is the strongest but on Egghead isnt really showing it)
mmmm all true. can’t argue w that
it’s interesting that in their first appearance warcury is in the center farthest away from the camera, and ju peter/saturn are closest
they’re positioned as the planets would be around the sun
And Luffys poster is in the middle
What if kaku has a seraphim and that seraphim is sogeking
bro is cooking
Check out this cool theory on Reddit I saw today
Oh I can’t share the link but it called One Piece logo theory update , it has to do with laboon
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/s/ZGQ5xINA2x
I like that theory. It feels like the logo is a treasure map of sorts!
This theory makes sense since the end part of grandline is where we will see brook meet laboon. I saw similar theory regarding whales and I noticed that since when we saw strawhats going from fishman island to new world. We saw a deep sea current which was kinda like a storm inside the ocean. That storm like deep sea current led straw hats to a group of whale like laboons. Maybe once strawhats gets all the Road Poneglyph, they have to use those currents made by whales to go to a never seen before island which is like fishman island under the deep ocean. That is why no was able to reach that island. Just a blunt theory.
What are your favorite theories?
Mine are former Roger pirates being 'stationed' at different points throughout Grand Line, keeping watch for the right crews
The new chapter convinced me that Kuma will self destruct to save Bonney from Saturn. That's all I got. Nothing super insane, but I think it'll be within 2 or 3 chapters.
i think katharina devon will disguise as luffy and destroy fishman island
i was thinking this too since in the series that Oda is inspired from the mysterious city is similar to reverse mountain but everyone who talks about Raftel calls it an island or the final island
The voice of all things is just a capacity to understand the language from the past. Thats why roger could "hear" briefly the poneglyphs but couldnt understand it, thats why they can hear sea kings, also why they can hear zunesha and emeth. The world from 900 years ago could have a type of babel tower, the entire world speaking only one language.
Enel Theory:
He isn’t leaving the moon, he has no reason to. Instead he will be used for a reaction shot. Luffy’s final biggest punch on the final foe will rubberize the earth, stretching all the way to the moon, before slinging them into space. “He was unable to die. So eventually, he stopped thinking”. Also the impact of the punch could force the sunken lands to rise back to the surface.
Hmm
Luffys mom theory
I think luffys mom was a lunarian and i think luffy is half lunarian and why he can use fire powers naturally.
i think his mom was a lunarian then she was hunted/her whole clan down / killed by the government why dragon hates the government so much. i think the government killed luffys mom when he was young and we will find out later thats why dragon hates governemnt so much cus the government killed luffys mom or atleast hurt her/ enslaved/ still hunts her down and we will find out later that luffy is half lunarian and his mom is full.
😰
also im lf people in dms/ call to descuss theories with and talk about one piece in general would love to talk about theroies with someone.
Someone*
but yeah cool luffys mom theorie i have
i think shes defintley a lunarian would just explain why dragon hates gov so much cus they killed who he loved
you still looking?
yes
the one piece is a Afroo
The one piece is going to reincarnate joyboy
It is possible as joyboy (original not Luffy ) may be needed to defeat Imu and defeat the government
The one piece is "binks sake"
Na the one piece is just Pangaea and the all blue
hmmmmm
The One Piece being a bottle of sake
No i think its more like a Keyword
I think luffy will loose the gear 5 and get gear 6
The one piece is probobly joyboy telling his version of the story and the war was probobly started by a mistake or misunderstanding hence “laugh tale” I think it also has instructions to bring back the old world and drain the sea in a way
You know I heard someone describe Haki as some ones Ambition. Makes a lot more sense on how Haki can be passed on.
That's 2 pieces.
Mj o interesting theory, but I doubt Oda would use the same exact attack in back-to-back succession. That would totally take away from Atlas' sacrifice.
Plus the Iron Giant will hold Saturn back.
||My theory for the end of one piece
The ancient Kingdom is the Kingdom of Drums. Luffy's dream is to become the best Beetle fighting champion. The straw hat Grand fleet will end the war with a Davy back fight against the world government and Imu. And Luffy will be sent back in time , fulfilling the prophecy of the original joy boy on Laugh Tale.||
@pure raven though I can't agree with you, I think it's hilarious and I want that to happen.
I think the D in the will of D is either Dreamer, Drum, Dawn, or an emoji smile 😄 of the moon.
One piece I think is a trigger to blow up the redline.
||I do like the idea of the D standing for dreamer or dreams. And though the dawn would fit, I don't like it narratively, where as the will of drums refers to the drums of liberation.
I think the drums of liberation are sounded when someone within the D clan is excited into action by true passion with their heart, which then erupts as fire that they can materialize in their inherent abilities. The hearts of man carried down by the will of D. is the eternal flame. Meaning any D clan member may be able to access the power of a sun god.||
@pure raven ooooh the eternal flame can only be controlled by the you know who.
So the reason I say dreamer was of 2 things. So when Oden died he died smiling. His smile looked like a crescent moon. Moon is symbolic for the kingdom of dreams. Also the will of D was described with something to do with the moon from an editorial way back. But I don't remember where I got it.
Dawn just because romancing the dawn. And drums of liberation can only be summoned by a will of D. Also Drum Island. What if they are actual drums? Oh man it's fun to guess.
My hope the dream that Luffy has is either walks on the moon or his dream is to have the biggest party around the world where everyone is invited.
That's also a fun idea. I like the idea of drum Island just being literal. And Luffy wanting to walk on the moon would be a fun one but I think he would have had more dialogue with Enel about that if it were the case 😂
I mean at least it wouldn't leave that cover story off to the ether.
usopp the fuck gold d. roger lover
lets say the theory of gear 5 is just the devil fruit's desire being peaked when the user unlocks the desire to become free -
luffy does not use this power for good or evil, as he is clearly not one, occasionally brought up in the story. If others, like bonney, could change their desire for freedom after being inspired by luffy, it is possible that others have been inspired by those who have also desired freedom? Some people also believe the elders have unlocked the same thing as luffy or joyboy... they use their power of evil.
morality is a heavy topic on egghead - with the true introduction og joyboy, his morality is very contended throughout the story, even showing joyboy doing things like burnin fishman island. what if joyboys storyline was him actually become evil? and if the elders powers were the desire to be free... what does that make joyboy now?
king of the world... maybe?
also, what if the heartbeat was the reason why luffy & joyboy unlocked freedom? If one's will is inherited, can it be passed down through blood? thus, if the will of d is inherited, what if the will of d is what determines if one can desire freedom? thus, with someone with the d clan has a devil fruit, they can unlock gear 5?
what d clan members have devil fruits. Law, who can give immortality, could totally be prove the power of the will of d.
note garp. a member of the d clan, miracoulously doesnt have a devil fruit - he cant be admiral without a devil fruit, as per fujitora.
The d clan are sought after by the wg, yet garp is allowed in potentially because of this situation - he knows the truth.
ace? Complicated. Are we missing a key detail on why the world government thought assassinating ace was worth the marineford war?
teach is the only other one with a devil fruit, is it possible blackbeard never revealed his power until after the wg made him a shicibukai?
a lot of people point out potentially allies(potentially) of luffy being with devil fruits too... pt 1
pt 2 law, katakuri, robin, chopper having a low bounty BECAUSE HES NOT HUMAN, THUS CANT BE A D CLAN ON THE D CLAN MEMBERS CREW??? psst sorry chopper. If all of luffy's human nakama might be a d clan member, potentially even by INHERITED WILL, more people might miraculously be d clan
- theory clovers brother is an inherited will of robin's father, the d clan member
- dr hililuk being a d clan member is VERY POSSIBLE
- zeff?? the all blue??? where thr sea is free or something?? D CCLAN INHERITED WILL FROM SANJI? NO DEVIL FRUIT
- Jinbe's inherited will is from fisher tiger, a man who freed slaves... no devil fruit
- Roronoa Zora inherited the will from shinotsuki kuina, the ancestor of ryuma. potential nakama of joyboy! did ryuma have a devil fruit
- franky's parents were pirates, though his inherited will is tom, who we know nothing about for somewhone who made the oro jackson, no devil fruit
- usopp's and namis ancestry or inherited will we know little of
- some people believe yorki's a member of the d clan, someone who brook inherited the will of.
lastly, what if gold roger waited until their last voyage to become pirate king? They were looking for gold underwater, not for the one piece!
guys what if the reason bb could eat 2 devil fruits is that different types of devil fruits have different souls, like you can eat a logia and paramecia, but not 2 zoans or not 2 logias
While I like that base point of 1 devil fruit type only, I feel it has to be expanded upon because surely people have tried eating same type devil fruits before and failed. What makes Teach different?
yaaaaaaaan
I think Luffy hasn't unlocked full potential of gear 5. Coz sun god has the colors of sun. And Luffy's gear 5 is colored white. Which means he will unlock the full power of his devil fruit. I also think that mother flame is the pinnacle of Luffy's gear 5 upgrade.
(Already posted this in a different channel but putting it here)
So a meme suggesting Dr. Vegapunk is Perospero's dad has been going around lately. People wrote it off as a joke but I did some calculations regarding the birthdays of all three of them and turns out it's actually possible within the parameters of Big Mom's character
Slight pedophilia warning
||Big Mom would've been 17 when Vegapunk was 15. If she gave him an early "birthday present" the June before he turned 15 then he could 100% be the father given how creepy Big Mom undoubtedly can be, plus she would've turned 18 during the pregnancy which lines up with her age gap over Perospero||
Not saying it'd be good if this theory was true, just saying it's possible
I don't think Oda will ever write in a story of a 15 year old having sex and getting someone pregnant
I know
Thing is Big Mom is a huge unhinged creepy so I wouldn't put it past her as a person
Not saying it would happen narratively
Remember, this is Japan, and there are different perceptions on age there.
Oh hell no I didn't even consider that
I get that but I think even for Japan writing in a 15 year old getting a girl pregnant would be a bit much, especially for shonen jump
Yes, you are correct. I lived in Japan for 2 years. If an unwed woman get pregnant, she is shunned, and cannot even get a job
I mean how many times has One Piece crossed that line at this point? Zeff ate his own fucking leg in the 4th story arc, Robin is a genocide survivor, even within Big Mom's story she ate her entire family
Tbh I don't care either way if my theory was true. One Piece is morbid sometimes, that's about it
True but I feel like sexual acts are kinda different, the worst we've got there is the Ginny situation. Which is certainly horrible, but it was still an adult woman and an adult man. Sexual crimes in OP are usually only implied at most
True
The thing is that your theories might be broken down, There a long tribe clan
Like long tribe leg, hand, etc
And we know in Bege Crew there also a man with long tongue.
So BM could just marry some long tongue tribe.
And seriously it doesn't make sense if BM marry VP.
Remember this is Shonen Jump.
Oda wouldn't create some horrofic shit, and also the thing about that.
Anyone else interested in how they did the title card at the end of today's episode? I always thought Shanks' eye scar was a slice, like a sword attack or something, but that title card made it distinctly look like a burn scar instead. Two chapters later BlackBeard tells Kuzan that the 4th red poneglyph is held by a man with a burn scar in a black ship. I have eyes and can see the color of Shank's ship but maybe its some sort of illusion. Maybe a reach but the title card is highly suspicious to me, especially a couple episodes before this interaction about the burn scar happens.
i once saw a theory of kid being the 7th vegapunk but with todays episode im 100% sure he is 7th vegapunk
in episode 1120 he used a move called "damed 'punk'"
It was from Blackbeard.
The Scar was from Teach when they both still a apprentice. Nothing suspicious about shanks scar and no hes not a man with a flame mark.
and the weapon had 07 written on it
No hes not thats just a theory/speculation we already got kid background, he just a normal kid not even a VP clone.
Ok a long tongue Tribe would be way funnier
Yeah shanks himself told whitebeard
During wci it was a common theory that perosperos father was streusen, it a pretty gross theory too but I think it's alot more likely assuming oda had given any thought to his father at all
I heard about the Streusen theory too. Regardless of the circumstances of Perospero's birth it was always gonna be a little gross given she'd have probably been 17 when she had him
…..let’s move on from this unsavory topic guys. No matter which angle you take, it’s not a topic we want people to be discussing on a pg13 server.

I figured it out. Luffy's dream after becoming the Pirate King is to create a treasure hunt for the whole world.
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/s/hXOa2hBAuy The Voice of All Things permeates everything and is where souls go when they die. The ability to hear it is actually an unrecognized type of observation Haki.
Nah. The voice of all things is based on the scientific theory that time can be reflected and it writes the history of everything in the fabric of space.
what do you mean?
Since this is a theories channel, would you like to elaborate a bit more and (preferably) add some in-story evidence/reasoning?
The strawhat grand fleet will assemble in the next two manga chapters (1121 and 1122).
We haven't seen the crews of the grand fleet during the broadcast reactions. They might be on their way
Well we did see Leo and Orlumbus I believe. I think it’d be kinda late for them to show up now since the SHs have nearly escaped and it seems like the arc is about to end
I have a theory that when the world government lost the gomu df or the nika df why they didnt care is because the past 900 years when ever someone eats the gomu he doesn’t awaken it unlike luffy who awaken it so that why the 5 gorese didnt take action when shanks stole the fruit
And the past fruit users didnt have the will of freedom so that they can awaken the fruit and thats why the gorese thought its like the last user hes gona die and we will try to get the fruit
The gorosei also didn't know much about the gomu fruit, but tbh they also stupid for not taking action fast enough.
They just like crocodile when they just think its just a small fry pirate until they realize they're to late.
I would but there's nothing more to it. It simply aligns with everything we know.
It matches with all the reactions people have.
It aligns with Roger's actions; he said he would do "that" after becoming the Pirate King. The only thing he did was announce to the world that the One Piece exists.
Nika was created from the people's will, the idea of "what if... I could be free," and creating a treasure hunt seems to pave a path to freedom for everyone. The freest thing one can do is travel the world, as demonstrated by Luffy, the embodiment of freedom. This journey has liberated every Straw Hat and allowed them to dream.
It's like giving the entire world a cognitive boost that initiates freedom. This is how he grants freedom to everyone, by offering them a new perspective on life they didn't have before de yansu

I'm pretty sure kids either an abandoned child or just saw that all the biggest inventions came from vegapunk so he learned all hw could about the guy, even though I think the satellites are supposed to be secrets but idk
My guess is that if lilith is our next strawhat, they do go to elbaf and kid is still alive well figure out what the 7s about
I have a theory that emeth is going to use mother flame to do some sort of attack. Mother flame is the heart or the core of emeth from which VP developed the power source to activate the ancient weapons
so many jams here , i forgot which one was in vc.
whoever it was , you were good at the talk show
i have a theory (probably not unique , but have not seen it recently) : the ancient robot , zunesha, possibly others, had the soul transfer move done to them as punishment for what happened during the war in the void century
maybe lilly's body was stolen by the world noble mu (Imu) , since it always seems like a female's silhouette when the butterflies are shown in the hidden room in pangea
I think everyone on land will get devilfruit sickness (sink in salt water) through the drinking water.
Therefor the rising tides prove more disastrous.
water 7's tranformation into a ship will come into play around that time too , most likely
Something about the One Piece dries the ocean.
here's the thing though : who left the One Piece on Laughtale to being with?
and if the answer roger and his crew came up with was to let the world flood again, that would not need to be so hush-hush, right?
since it is so outrageous , who would believe them?
Guys one or two chapters back gorosei say that someone stronger is coming we know blackboard ship is there but blackboard is not the strongest person
IDK if they mean the comeback of robot but i guess someone stronger is coming to egghead we will see him after 1121,
I mean the strongest person might be someone we haven’t seen till or it might be shanks or blackboard.
you can't count out the holy knights - maybe one or more of them are coming?
No they won’t come
beep boop
The blackbeard ship was there cuz of van auger and Devon they gone by now bro
when was this said? i cant find it
Headcannon as always 🤣
im just curious, maybe i just missed it
Ch 1118 normally they are talking about emeth but i guess if this line is for someone stronger coming
Ch1118
personally i dont think he is talking about anything else than Emeth here but maybe
If its not emeth then we know thats the moment where bonney turn into nika so it could be bonney.
buggy is the king of one piece
what if luffy is joyboy and was always joyboy just reincarnated and when Gol. D. Roger said he wished he was born in Joyboys era maybe he meant luffy's era as when he got to laughtale it told him a prediction of the future
Please no.. I can't afford to lose more of Luffy after the Nika retcon.. please just Luffy be himself. A goofy, happy-go-lucky guy.
yh but if luffy was always joyboy then there the same person
No, it's an epithet. He inherited his will.
i think it might of been a reincarnation as luffy has a secret true desire what if its to free the world because he remembers his past life
no just think about in a whole
luffy is joyboy and has always been joyboy but hasn't realised it because well thats just how he is you know
Nty
Anyone know a good website where I could read colored manga?
thats more a question you should ask in #manga or just use google
lf somone to talk about my theories with in dms just abunch of stuff
im dropping relationship predicitions right now fr fr
One piece relationships predictions/theory at end of Story going in order of straw-hats
For Luffy 1. Boa 2. Nami 3. vivi 4. yomato
For Zoro 1. Tashigi 2.Nico Robin 3.Kozuki Hiyori 4. Perona
For Sanji 1. Nami 2. Nico Robin 3. Charolotte 4. Vivi
For Usopp 1. Kaya 2. no one
For Franky 1. Both of his follower girls 2. Nico Robin
For jimbei No one
For Nami 1. Sanji 2. Luffy
For Nico Robin 1. Zoro 2. Franky 3. Dragon 4. Law
For chopper 1. Carrot 2. no one
For Brook no one
the numbers are most likley to least likley
Since this is more of a shipping tierlist (no evidence just predicted matchups), #manga or #also-manga is probably a better place for that.
I know crew left egghead already
Are you referring to something someone said earlier in chat?
Had a thought, not much of a fully thought out theory. I know the movies most are considered filler, but I just rewatched OP 6 Baron Omatsuri, and I heard some really interesting things.
-
Lily Carnation, is this a representation of a flower which has eaten a devil fruit? Without spoiling too much, we've seen animate flora and fauna via Usopps timeskip, I wonder if this speaks to the One Piece nature world (amazon island animals, mihawk island animals etc.)
-
Muchigoro states theyd landed on the island from a terrible storm, and that he'd seen Gol D Roger "Just a few days ago." His memory goes blank when recanting the storm, but Nami gives us the time frame of about 20 years. Is there a cannon event 20 years from OP movie 6 we can pin this to?
-
Third point, I found baron an interesting character in general. Hes one of 3 representations of a character who loses their crew and resorts to a form of necromancy (Brook, Gecko Moria, and himself), also the particular anger he holds towards Luffy is interesting. I kept asking myself, did Baron Omatsuri lose a battle to Gol D Roger? Or maybe was it Dragon?
Ok a two for one theory this time. First off the theory that clover’s killed brother was Nico’s father. We know Robin’s mother was following her husband’s desire to find the truth to the void century. It would make sense the same man would have been inspiration for his younger brother Clover to continue his search after he was killed by the government.
This brings me to my second theory in that D stands for divine. This designates these people as people born with the ability/destiny to awaken god level devil fruits which are the only powers strong enough to change the world. Without the devil fruit a D clan member is not considered a risk (hence don’t care about garp), and without being part of the D clan a devil fruit user is not a risk (hence give your admirals top tier logia fruits and such). However when these two combine as in Luffy - and I suspect Nico, Dragon, Ace(see my theory above for Nico, also plenty of wind/storm and fire gods to choose from for the other two)- they have an ability the gorosei / imu fears.
I believe this once again solidifies why they put a large amount of weight into having these members killed before they realize the potential they hold as we’ve seen they are typically benevolent to others such as the emperors/warlords.
Divine, Dawn, Devil, Demon, etc idk what else
Theirs evidence for matchups
New theory after law lost his crew and bepo only one I think he's gonna tell bepo to retire cus not strong enough and join the strawhats I think him or their gonna pick up yomato for final battle I think final member will be somone op for power scaling
It's gonna be law or yomato I'm pretty sure but I just think law because his crew is no more and rather then being solo dolo he's going to join the straw hat crew
But I do think they've been showing yomato every single chapter lmao so high chance it's gonna be yomato and I think in rankings power wise she would be 2 or 3
some of the relationships can't really happen because oda stated there wouldn't be any relationships between crew members
No there isn’t because you haven’t provided any. More importantly, unless there’s a greater significance to these ships, #manga is better suited for that.
i can boa simping over luffy ect sanji literally almost getting married to pudding zoro sleeping with momoskis sister and the one girl being his child hood friend
i just gave significant reasons for the first 3 i can give the rest lol like they werent guesses cus why not
As I've already said, please don't bring up ships in this channel. This channel's for more high-effort theories with lots of evidence/reasoning, ships are not usually considered high-effort unless there's a deeper significance to their pairing. You're more than welcome to discuss ships in other manga channels.
huh im not shipping and i have evidence why it would happen
You did provide a little evidence, but I have been emphasizing that there are some low-effort topics (powerscaling, bounty predictions, EoS ships, etc) that are discouraged from being brought up in this channel regardless of how much effort you think you're putting in. Shipping is one of those topics. This is one of the rules of this channel.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to DM a mod or myself for further clarification.
This theory isn't related to ch 1120 but I came up with it and I just wanted to share it Warning spoilers about Roger and God valley
||The theory is about Roger's illness, we don't know what his illness was so we can only guess but I was thinking about it and thought what if the illness came from God valley, since we know very little about rocks d xebec we can only make flat out guesses about him and since we don't know if he had a devil fruit or not I started think, what if Roger had Radiation poisoning and he got it from his fight with rocks and his logia devil fruit the Radiation Radiation no-mi and after the fight Roger got radiation poisoning from getting hit by him a bunch, now there are some holes in this theory like why didn't Garp get radiation poisoning or the other rocks or Roger pirates but to that I say.......................||
I have a theory it's all about Queen of Alabasta went to Fishman Island to be with her lover because he (fishman) wouldn't survive in Alabasta (desert dry land).
Imu would have been the past king of Alabasta who was "betrayed". Now betrayal is not something we'd think Lily would do, because so far we're inclined to love her, not hate her. That to me explains Imu's obsession with Lily, why it's called Romance Dawn, etc.
Furthermore, if we need to find reasons why Lily betrayed Imu, it could have been a search for immortality, which Imu definitely succeeded somewhat in obtaining. What fueled this theory was a classical story I learned in school called "The Portrait of Dorian Gray" where the portrait would get older while the real person remained ageless, the opposite of what normally happens. And the fact Lily is beautiful and young in the portrait allured me to that being a possibility.
there is a slight probablity of nami and usopp.....and how tf you are think dragon with nico robin💀 💀
your whole theory is a plot hole
That's how you know it's good
first of all not the channel to ask a question, more fit in #manga-serious or #also-manga but quickly, he was just thinking about Whitebeard talking about the Lunarians
mb
all good 👍
Next clashes:
Cross Guild vs Blackbeard (outside hachinosu, bb with the same crew that attacked winners island)
Sabo vs Gods knights (makes sense because sabo is burning everything chaotically and the knights want to put it out)
Koby vs aokiji - Koby returning to hachinosu or intercepting aokiji fleet to take revenge on garp
Luffy vs Shanks
Could be a final clash between them at Elbaf to give luffy the last power up before the final war, a training of sorts resembling rayleighs
Dragon vs Imu
Battle of “…”
Two of the most mysterious one piece characters, and if you consider the possibility of Blackbeard inheriting the government, imus power then you could see luffy inheriting the revolutionary flame of dragon, ideology dads clashing
Mysterious figure vs marines
May be a good way to reveal the new character and show out new admirals powers without limitations (dressrosa, wano and marie jois blueballed green bull and fujitota showing out their full potential)
I do wonder who that mystery figure is. We haven’t even seen imu yet and off comes this one but he’s a swordsman it seems a long forgotten pirate or a new marine
Rocks D Xebec?
Nah couldn’t be him. I feel Xebec is gone but may get reincarnated possibly this person is entirely new we already got a slide show of xebec
Actually goated theory ngl
What do you guys think of: Buggy vs sabo, blackbeard and figarland vs koby and Aokiji, shanks vs akainu, Luffy and dragon vs imu and mysterious figure according to the one piece panel
one step further, theres only one other typical bird foot type and it only has one single species that shows it, a species called a Trogon, it has the same shape foot as the zygodactyly but with which toe is where switched around a little bit
sabo learned his dragon claw fist from dragon, might only be because whatever lineages they carry or whatever are different but close enough to always be categorized together
completely unrelated, i had never heard of trogons before, and holy god are there a bunch, and they are all colorful as hell
birds be wilin
I think the sillouette from the last page is prolly the man marked by flames. Anyone else it could be?
I can't think of any other late game characters we haven't met yet and will have to undoubtedly meet
I have a theory that maybe someone out there probably thought of and it is SOMEWHAT related to a time travel theory that's out there but mine is more along the lines of I believe that on Laugh Tale, or perhaps the one piece itself is very much related to Luffy's journey, and by that I mean that it is an actual record of history or rather an account FROM THE PAST that describes the FUTURE in which is the current present world of One Piece, the reasons I susepct as much as due to the fact that both Roger and Oden inexpilcably knew that exactly 20 years from their time someone would emerge and claim the one piece, hence why Roger knowing that he was not either Joyboy or the person who is meant to be there originally and claim it decided to make himself have a role in which he makes the announcement at his execution about it's existence knowing that he would inspire or at least encourage the future Joyboy or the one who is meant to claim the one piece AND he intentionally decided to have a kid in hopes that his kid would be the one who claims it, and the more flimsy piece of thought that also might strengthen the idea that the one piece or whatever is on the final island is an account of the future and the past and specifically tied to Luffy is the name of the final Island itself, being LAUGH TALE, might be a stretch I know but considering we mostly knew it as RAFTEL before Stampede and then realizing it's mean to be LAUGH TALE, and breaking it down we have TALE which implies a story or an account of events being told so it must mean there's a story being told there that would make you LAUGH as it did the Roger pirates, but also of interest is the LAUGH portion of the name, perhaps LAUGH is meant to be LUFFY? again I think this because there's a mixing in the pronounciations here due to the name being bothe English and meant to be in Japanese, so I feel like to obscure the truth of the matter they named the Island LAUGH TALE when it might've actually been LUFFY'S TALE. those are my thoughts on the matter at least
Ok let’s theorize why everyone is here
Yonkos to represent pirates
Imu to represent World Gov
Akaniu for marines
Koby for Sword
Dragon for revs.
Then in the bottom left corner we see
Sabo, Figarland, Kuzan
Few things I’m thinking about is maybe they’re people who are going to betray there leader
BB, Dragon, and Imu.
Or maybe they all have hidden intentions that we don’t know?
Or maybe they’re all undercover no clue for what but idk
Hard to think of those reasons being the cause of showcasing these people, in fact we have one silhoutte which I assume to be someone we have yet to meet so nothing can be said concerning motives of each character, I believe these are all big characters currently at play which might have a reason or motivation to search and find the one piece, we know not why Kuzan decided to join Blackbeard or what his motives are as of yet, nor figarland garland and his motives if anything I would say Shanks is rather dubious as we don't fully yet understand how he relates to the celestial dragons or the five elders
Or more simply it's showcasing the characters with the biggest likelihood to being able to find it?
Theory #01. The silhouette in the latest chapter is of The Man Marked by Flames, but also Shanks' identical twin brother.
This would explain the Gorosei's reaction: "Considering your position, you should be staying away from politics during this time," as they would consider him a Celestial Dragon like we assumed they did for Shanks, but also a pirate/lone wolf as he is usually on his black galleon.
Lastly, this would explain his appearance in the double-page spread regarding the One Piece; he is crucial in finding it, and also a mystery, so a silhouette is the most fitting way to display him.
I believe you are right in assuming that it is the man marked by flames, for the rest it's hard to say, whenever we have a silhouetted character we can assume it's someone we have yet to meet or it's meant to hide the identity of the character to keep it a mystery because otherwise we would know who it is, the reason I doubt the relation to Shanks is because shanks is a very unique existence in One Piece so far, how he came into the story and his relationship with Roger and pirates in general as well as his connection to the gorosei I have doubts as to him having any Siblings at least
True. Though with how Garling is all but confirmed to be his father, it isn't entirely out of the question. We'll just have to wait and sees.
Why do I feel like Oda has someone in this discord just reading over all the theories so he can write something up that hasn’t been theorized yet?
The fact the king is still recovering makes no sense. 🤷
I know in the Manga its now been about 2 years, but It's really on been a few days since the raid on Onigashima "in-world time"..... X Drake is still recovering too
Man marked by flames? Is this one of the eyepatch things I missed
So, strawhat fully recovered, law full recovered, kidd fully recovered, but king just on the stretcher still struggling. Zoro and Green Bull must've been super strong.
We don't yet know the full affect of a lunarian's ability to recover
Let's just call it for what it is, Oda is not consistent with his logic on these type of things. No way kidd, Luffy's, law & crew aftering fighting two yonko, fully recover and go on their way to fight their next battle, and King who lose to a already battle torn Zoro and then getting sap by Green Bull is still healing like he's got no health insurance. 🤣
OHHHH yeah I remember this now!
Maybe garling is shanks grandfather, and this is his dad
Maybe that is why shanks is drinking heavily? He has to face his own dad to claim the poneglyph
Hmmm maybe. Or watch Shanks have the ponyglyph
Like there must be a reason for shanks to drink heavily, the most probable ofc is he is reacting the same way as rayleigh, but shanks didnt see the one piece, so there is a possibility it is something else…if he said lets claim the one piece he and bb must be after the man
Shanks, Luffy, and BB most likely all have the same amount of ponyglyphs
it's morgans and I won't elaborate further
How will buggy catgch up?
He wont lmao
Nah I think the battle for the one piece will consist of the 4 emperors crews facing off
Means we can see the 4 captains fight and also stuff like Zoro vs Mihawk and Sanji and Robin vs Crocodile maybe
Well then he already has a key to pluton in vivi
I think the battle royale will be at laughtale
Im really hoping the battle royale is just a large scale davy back fight. Not only would that be an amazing callback it would make at least to me way too much sense.
Buggy is gonna catch up through connections. He knows where all of them are because he was on Roger’s ship. What’s going to happen is Buggy will be the first to get the “man marked by flames” poneglyph and probably get pluton. My best guess is he either knows about the ancient weapons already(or their locations) or he’ll find out about it through a battle with Van Auger and Catrina Devon. If they won they would get Caribou and I feel like that makes the most sense from a narrative standpoint. Caribou fits Buggy crew very well. Oda can’t have Blackbeard get Pluton or Poseidon since it’s what Croc was looking for. Blackbeard is going to get some type of other ridiculous power up but I don’t think it’s going to be an ancient weapon.
Luffy's and roger dream is to turn the world upside down. To make the land bigger than the ocean, forming a pangea, turning the world into One Piece.
perospero is the real mc of one piece
there aren't many characters using a saber type sword in the series ... the guy at the end has to be a new character.
How is cross guild even going to find Pluton ?
I didn't know I needed this
bro cooking
heres a big one ive been trying to untangle
rogers crew has been in the story the entire time but its just a matter of figuring out whos who
also at least at one point, ceasar was trying to create df based on the gorosei
and the eye motif has been in the story since higuma
for you birdpiece fellas,
if im right, and oda had it as the basis for the story
here is chapter one with Shanks using the parrot foot while hes looking at higumas 'foot' and sees it splayed wide,
Cook some more 🔥
One piece is said to be something that can link all people in the world, making the world one island would link everyone.
The way Oda set this up with the end of chapter 1121 Luffy isn’t going to be the first one to get the One Piece.
Oda always subvert expectations and the standard of Shonen formula, so instead of the main character that gets the final thing, I’d be someone unexpected but could see a scenario of it happening, like buggy or ussop getting to the one piece first
You are correct. Shanks would have taken Kidd's rubbing, and Blackbeard probably has Law's.
However Luffy has the only person confirmed to be able to read them. Pudding may be able to use her third eye, but the question is, if she does, will she be fully cooperative with BB
Might be a bit late to this,
It could be odas drawing but to me anyway it looks like they have some sort of hand wraps on/bandages which could further the connection to it being the man marked by flames
Luffy has the only person confirmed to be able to read them
When was this confirmed? As far as we know it's only Robin
Shanks may of been taught by Oden 🤷♀️ I doubt it though
That's what I mean. Luffy has Robin. The last known person to know how to read them
Oh gotcha, I misinterpretted the "has" there
the strawhats are gonna split at elbaf temporarily with usopp staying at elbaf for his training arc, nami going to lodestar, the other characters also doing some training stuff while luffy and SWORD is gonna go to blackbeards island to save garp, however he looses and is gonna be executed by blackbeard as a show of his power and kind of like a sacrifice to the WG so that hachinosu can become like a registered island. however all the of the strawhats with their powerups, the sh fleet, probably dragon as the man marked by flames too will show up to save him. perhaps the WG will have blackbears back too.
Just had a thought, what if during the void century there wasn't just one Joyboy, and I don't mean at the same time. What if during that period of time the original Joyboy died, however he continued on through someone else eating his devil fruit and maybe even gaining his memories via the Paw Paw fruit? What if that cycle of a form of regeneration is why Emeth and the giant Elephant (can't remember their name) refered to Luffy as Joyboy, because they're used to him coming back through someone else. It be kinda similar to Avatar, and it does mess with the idea of pure freedom that Joyboy is supposed to represent, but perhaps those who chose to become the next Joyboy did so of their own free will. And on top of that even with the previous Joyboys memories they still kept their free will and individuality. A bit of a stretch, but it's an interesting theory.
"There is no guarantee it will be found by someone
Joyboy would've wanted" - and below, we see a panel each for Blackbeard and Shanks. Oda subtly dropping hints that there will be a clash with Shanks in the future?
i think the Straw hats are the only ones that have the one in zou, BB properly took it from law but i don't think shanks has it unless he used his connections with the Cat/Dog to get it
this would also mean that both times we see shanks's brother silhouette would be from the right side of his face as it would give away that he doesnt have scars. or maybe that the scars are on the left side of his face and are flame scars
I think he used his connection to get it
Hmmmmm you kinda cooked
the silhouette is xebec
Wouldn't be the first time someone we thought dead was actually alive
hes gunna be like madara, but where kishimoto went wrong, made xebec too powerful, and godhanded him out the story, luffy will become strong enough to defeat him and his broken twisted mind. xebec still wants imu dead tho.
hey guys yk how blackbeard is going to egghead but he hasnt appeared once yet do you think hes gonna sweep the weakened people like last time or what
Here's the thing to consider, every time we've seen the silhouette of Xebec it typically displays his hair and him sporting a trademark smile, which these things tend to be ways for Oda to indicate this is a character of some import what with the story having a strong motif of smiles all around, the silhouette shown at the end of the latest chapter is only showing the lower half the the face and not displaying Xebec's very characteristic hairstyle, as for the other thing of note about the silhouette is the sword, that guard is very characteristic and the sword appears to bear a striking resemblance to shanks's sword and guard, can't say how this relates to shanks but it is an interesting thing to note but also the the fact that around his fist there's also something like brass/iron knuckles kind of like the one Fullbody has which would be strange if it was 2 different weapon types on the same hand but maybe it's for a different purpose unsure, (medical?) but those are the only noticeable things so far
Who said it could link ppl?
Oda
For clarification I don't think that's brass knuckles but just the shadow of the sword guard cast on his fingers
As much as I hate to admit his sword guard and straight blade do somewhat resemble the type of saber that Shanks wields, not that being his brother or clone would automatically mean he also has to wield the same sword but there aren't many better theories or hints. I believe the silhouette man is part of God's Knights and likely their head figure right under Figarland himself, whether he's his son and Shanks' brother remains to be seen
So, I'm new here. Do you guys think that Imu's name can be something related to earth or gaia?
I mean, the five elders have names related to planets, and the 3 weapons too. And luffy is nika, who's the sun. The only planet who are left is earth (in our solar system)
Garling’s sword guard is also similar to Shanks’ Gryphon so the idea that the silhouette is one of the Gods Knights makes sense.
Initially I thought that too but besides being straight-bladed sabers the similarities end there I think because their guards are different, Figarland's is more rigid and straight while Shanks' and the silhouette's are more round and smooth. We've yet to see the full design of it, but nevertheless the central figure in their initial silhouettes whom I'm assuming is not Figarland but instead their on-field active commander has a similar guard, and it may be him being teased in the latest chapter
There’s also the moon, in the past humans treated the moon the same as other planets (look up geocentric model). But people often associate Blackbeard with the moon given the way people perceive his role to be a direct opposite to Nika. So the Earth is the better choice. I’ve talked a bit about it here a few years back #manga-theories message
Yup, I agree Garling’s sword doesn’t match this unknown person’s sword as closely as Shanks’ Gryphon does. But the flat part of the guard matches well enough (both look like a flat disc). For that reason alone, I think it’s worth using Garling’s sword as another data point to argue this silhouette is a God’s Knight. Also yeah, that central figure in the pic you shared does seem to have a sword with a more roundish loop on his sword guard. It’s probably him.
Imu needs a sample of Vivis DNA so she can make some sort of vivre card that makes her look like vivi with a picture of her. Since we know imu has a picture of vivi in the palace, i would asumme Imu already used this technique but not with vivi but with lilly, but since its been hundreds of years since she made that ritual the painting of lilly is starting to "rust" away (idk the term basically the painting is getting too old) and so is Imu getting older and weaker. Why does Imu want to look like Vivi/lilly? maybe she envied her looks and wanted to look like her. Maybe joyboy was in love with Lilly and Imu hated that.
would also explain why imu is keeping joyboys strawhat in the cold chamber
Notice how most of the worst generation are not in the last page on who will find the one piece? It seems that the tempo and centre stage of the manga will shift towards the yonkos, revolutionary army, and the WG. With the likes of trafalgar, Bonny, as a supporting ally. Of course luffy will find the one piece eventually but laughtale will likely be a battlefield for something
What the actual fuck?
Why would 2 god knights be on the same spread?
Luffy is still part of Worst Generation but i get what you mean, tbh i agree what you said that both law and kidd would be supporter char for luffy and same as bonney since those char already foreshadowed long really long ago in sabaody arc
@wise field Bonney is a child. Even as a joke, please don’t make claims like that here ever again.

Mini-Theory: Garling the Elder Moon
I'm not a complete believer of this one, but after the release of chapter 1121, an old thought of mine has resurfaced. You see, back before all the elders made landfall, it was a common idea that Saturn would die in action at Egghead, leaving the Elders one member short. However, the theory has since diminished with all the elders running wild.
(Only this part will refer to chapter 1121): ||With Saturn about to fall in the water, we have to wonder over the next break week whether he'll survive. The answer is probably yes as the Goroseis powers dont seem to be Devil Fruits, but what if he's weakened enough to be killed permanently- or:||
Perhaps instead of dying at the hands of the Straw Hats, Saturn's consistent failures on and outside of Egghead lead to his expulsion from the Elder Planets. It's because of him that Bonney now has control of every Pacifista and can become Nika, all because he was too cocky and decided to torture and experiment on Ginny/Kuma. Imu may be evil, but Saturn's impracticality in doing so leading to major issues for the government may cross a line.
As Warrior God of Science and Defence, Saturn is also easy to replace. York should join the Government full time, and she's twice the scientist Saturn is, being able to create the Mother Flame, which is the only science Imu really wants. And as for the defence aspect, to fill Saturn's role as an Elder may be Garling. As supreme commander of God's Knights, he's presumably the strongest, or at least was during his hayday on God Valley, in which he distinguished himself greatly, protecting the Celestial Dragons (proving his aptitude for defending Mariejois).
Imu, the Elders, Ancient Weapons and Luffy have also all represented the solar system. Garlings name isn't a planet, however some have theorised that Figarland may come from the Greek for Moon- 'fegari"
https://x.com/newworldartur/status/1713908510147420555
(1/2)
Apparently the correct Greek spelling for Moon is "fegari", which makes me fairly convinced the correct romanization should be "Fegarland", as it literally means the "Moonland" people 🤔 #OnePiece
If elder form is not devil fruit or zoan df then why they have the zoan Awakening cloud? Like Lucci and other.
Also them doesn't afraid of water because we know they're big and we know san juan also can walk in the water, and we also see saturn land on the ship instead since he light weight and much smaller then warcury.
Also not all of those people is all have to be connected to all planet.
The thing is there no connection to garling to the moon itself
Only his hair and that's just speculation
His hair is literally a crescent moon too.
The Earth and Moon are missing representatives currently. Many have theorised these to be Blackbeard and Imu in either spot, which could very well be the case, but Imu as the pitch black void may also represent space, rather than the moon, or Blackbeard could as the user of infinite darkness.
This potentially leaves a space available for Garling to represent the moon.
Why would Garling be promoted now?
Saturn's role in the story as the villain to Bonney and Kuma has been fulfilled. Bonney has developed from it, and he's already been a punching bag throughout the arc. His death would mean that in the final war, Oda wouldn't have to retread old ground.
Garling is also going to be increasingly relevant in the story, most likely being Shanks' father. Some have even theorised that he may be Bonney's biological father as well, creating a connection to the Saturn plotline. Giving him a powerup and establishing him as a core villain would suit his importance in the story which will only grow as we see more about God Valley, Shanks and the God's Knights.
What demon could Garling become?
If the Elders powers are given by Imu, then Garling would have to be given a new power, assuming he isn't already a Fruit User. These typically play into the Elders existing characteristics (i.e. Warcurys moustache becoming tusks), so Garlings crescent hair could be a point of interest. Given the moon connection, maybe his hair splits into rabbit-like ears, becoming a moon rabbit which is a popular Japanese myth. If my theory about the Hoki's durability being the same as Lunarians is true (#manga-theories message), then the moon rabbit may mirror another special race, the Minks and their Sulong transformations under a full moon.
(2/2)
Their shared regeneration, telepathy, summoning circles and seemingly no fear toward being knocked into the water means that they might just be devils rather than fruit users. It's not my idea, but it's a popular one and would explain their weird quirks. Sanjuan Wolf can only walk on water because hes so big hes never half submerged.
As for the moon connections, yeah it is speculation, hence why this is a theory. I dont even particularly believe it, I just want it out there just in case it does happen and then I can take credit for it
Yes thats why i said they're not afraid of water they're the same as san juan they're big.
Aslong they're not fully submerged they can still walk on the water
Also those are they're power and you still doesn't explain why they have the awakening cloud if they're just a demon.
Yes also the theory is still really weak because its just based on his hair.
The thing of his name claimed to be similiar to greek meaning
Fegari
Figar
Its a stretch tbh for me
They aren't as big as Wolf with maybe the exceptions of Topman and Peter, but even so a nosedive straight into the sea should affect them, they'd be more than half submerged which is how much it takes to weaken a fruit user
If the unique stuff like regeneration and demonic circles being used to summon them is just 'their power' that means it clearly is something beyond just devil fruits. Maybe theyre fruit users AND have special demonic powers, who knows
We're gonna see it inevitably either way anyways.
The thing is that luffy power is also beyond devil fruit itself.
Same as Bonney
So no surprise if Elder can do that stuff
Because they act like Mythical DF itself
And Zoan Awakening make it more logic that they can have such power like that
Also They are Big.
Wolf is about about 180m with his fruit, hybrid Saturn is probably close to 12m since hes almost twice as big as Kuma, pic attached
The theory's basis is moreso on Saturn and Yorks roles in the story and how Garling with his increasing importance in the story can fit into a spot that replaces Saturn should Oda choose to off him on Egghead, not just Garlings hair. The whole theory means nothing without explaining Saturn first thats why its most of the first message. Its not perfect, but I think I explained why it could happen and how it could happen reasonably enough.
I already said saturn is light and he just jumped to the ship instead but not for warcury
And its seem they can also change they're size
We got alot of size change in every chapter
When first introduced we see all of them are big and even they are the same and probably bigger then emeth
They have the Zoan cloud because they are Yo Kai. Zoan fruits derive from them.
Yes they are yokai but its doesn't make sense for them to have a zoan Awakening if they're just a yokai also yokai form doesn't have a cloud Awakening.
This is the proof that the elder Yokai doesn't even have the Cloud around them from the start, so yes they are yokai but they have the Cloud Awakening.
I really don’t think they have dfs it would be kind of lame. I think they came from the spirit world
Thats is your own headcanon/opinion.
The thing i showed is what i got from all the info that already been shown
Why would it be lame for them to fall into the power system that has been established since chapter 1? I think it would be more lame for Oda to suddenly introduce genuine spirituality into the world after 1100 chapters
I also don’t think they would introduce there Yo Kai forms without saying the name
Because the Goro sei dont take damage. It would make 0 sense if they were typical zoans. And I think they’re the only spirits. Either they came from the spirit world or they’re Imu’s creation.
There's already an in-canon plausible explanation for them not taking damage though, the ope ope fruit's immortality operation
Ask oda because not everything have to be shown/fully known, we probably will get that reveal later.
Wait that means they can’t take damage?
We don't know yet, immortality can be interpreted as not aging or as being impervious to death
That's they're power, they have regen, even marco DF have regen but they're stronger and they all awakened while marco is not
They also the same as Kaido.
Just because we see they cant be damaged doesn't mean they're demon or some spiritual shit lol, we literally see now that saturn was blown up, saturn also got punched by kuma and blood spilled from his mouth
I assumed the former. But yeah it could go either way.
The thing is that from invankov info its a Eternal youth.
So now we know what's is that.
But thats only imu and not the elder
Hmmm yeah. I see what you’re saying. I could see it going either way
This is actually interesting so you mean something like a game format?
It'd be more fun that way instead of just everyone fighting randomly all over the island. It'd be cool if there was some strategy involved in the fights
why would it be lame for a BBG to have a DF? that’s literally the unique thing about OP.
BBG?
I think it stands for Big Bad Guy but I could be wrong
Well I meant it would be lame if they had zoans because they can’t take damage and we haven’t seen anyone else have that. But it could be the fact they have had the ope ope no mi surgery
If you ask me they are not devil fruits. I wouldn’t be surprised if they could swim
Theory: Oda's Hint to the Location of One Piece
In the recent cover page of "One Piece" (first image), Oda has cleverly hidden a significant hint regarding the location of the legendary treasure, One Piece. The cover shows the title "ONE PIECE" with the letter 'O' marked by a prominent 'X' crossing through it. This 'X' is not just a random decoration; it holds deeper symbolic meaning, as evidenced by the following observations:
-
Color Scheme and Symbolism:
- The 'X' is composed of two colors: blue and red. The blue section can be associated with the Calm Belt, known for its calm and treacherous waters inhabited by Sea Kings. The red section likely represents the Red Line, a massive continent that encircles the world.
-
Intersection Point:
- The intersection of the blue Calm Belt and the Red Line on the 'X' can be interpreted as a significant geographical marker. This intersection forms a cross, and intriguingly, there is a small arrow pointing directly at this crossing point.
-
Geographical Implications:
- In the second image, a globe of the One Piece world illustrates the Calm Belt and the Red Line. If we overlay the 'X' from the first image onto this globe, the arrow at the intersection suggests a specific location where the Calm Belt and the Red Line meet. This place is of critical importance and could be the hidden location of Raftel (or Laugh Tale), the final island where the One Piece treasure resides.
Conclusion:
Oda has subtly used the cover art to give a direct hint about the location of the One Piece.
This visual representation will make it clearer how the Calm Belt and Red Line's intersection could mark the hidden location of One Piece.
I’ve seen people say that Shanks will need the poneglyph rubbings but he knows the coordinates. I didn’t read the manga during this part but shanks(in the anime) was there when they found the location of the one piece. He probably already knows the location it’s just that he waited for the right moment. When Roger talked to him he probably told him that he needed to wait to become pirate king or that he couldn’t become pirate king due to him being a celestial dragon. Thats why he came out crying and why he didn’t pursue being pirate king with Buggy. Roger probably gave Shanks something to do for the next pirate king that involves checking if he is strong enough to fight Imu and giving him the Gomu Gomu nomi. Remember Roger wanted his son to be the Pirate King so Shanks probably was going to give it to Ace. However, fate made Luffy eat it. Luffy will probably learn how to use Haki canceling on Elbaf(and/or some other technique to beat the Gorosei) then he will fight Shanks. I’d love to see someone like Scopper Gaban teach Luffy this technique at Elbaf. However, most theories say that he is probably at Lodestar or the man marked by flames. I personally want to believe he is at Elbaf since that to me would make more sense narratively. If not Scopper then maybe some other Roger crew member or like Morgans and he reveals he was in Roger’s crew or something like that.
Imu had the eternal youth operations, invankov literally said it "Saint Nerona Imu"
And the only thing we know that the power just gave people a everlasting life/doesn't grow old and thats the only thing we know.
And tbh the limit of the user is just because of the user stamina, luffy just literally awakened his power he just need to train and improve how to maintain his power to go longer, even we see kaido can use his df longer than luffy itself so its just up to the user stamina even though kaido is not awakened he can maintain his form long enough
And there also some change but this still a strong point it gave "the user a everlasting life"
The devil fruit take the ability probably like the Japanese folklore work which is the yokai and oda edited they're power and because we see them having regen and we think that they're immortal
But we know they can be hurted it just they're regeneration is strong
Like marco can regen too but he doesn't go fast like them and also hes not awakened while the elder is awakened.
What if. The shanks doppelganger theory. Is so deep. That his dopple is the one that cut kids arm off. Also when shanks had his reunion with him. They don't seem mention their history especially shanks. I think
Also shanks didn't go for the kill. But a royal figarland probably would
It's hinted at that Ben Beckman cut of his arm
Oda confirmed it was Ben in an SBS
ah yes, now one of the biggest mysteries in one piece is sloved. Lets ask oda more
I mean Oda probably gets asked all the big questions but he and his team decide what to cover in the SBS
@misty rain since that isn’t a theory, please use #manga-serious for questions like that
@strong nova not the channel for low-effort jokes, please do that in #manga
Blackbeard has 3 personalities one of them is his true self which is the only personality we have seen onscreen so far but during the night his other personalities come out one of them comes out when it’s night and Blackbeard becomes stronger and his dark fruit also becomes stronger and his 3rd personality his strongest form can only come out when he is in total darkness and this is how he stole whitebeards devil fruit because he put himself in total darkness using black curtains allowing the fruit to be consumed by the darkness and into Blackbeard I also think that these personalities are the previous users of the dark fruit. I think whoever uses the dark fruit pays the ultimate price of their soul being consumed into the darkness and stored into the fruit so that the dark fruit becomes more powerful every user it passes through since the previous users souls are bound to the fruit so whoever eats the fruit next will have all of the fruits previous users living inside of them but they can only come out during the night or in total darkness.
With emeth truth bomb you might be seeing jupeter and warcury also dying, so you would be left with venus and mars (there is a very esoteric reference to venus and mars - emperor and empress - but I will not cook for now
what if the reason Teach has 2 df are beacause the darkness fruit with its black hole like properties sucked Teaches soul out making room for another soul allowing the consumption of 2 df it will also explain why he started to become more evil after he ate the fruit-though its just a theory
say if its a good theory
I want to also mention, it was previously theorized that Saturn is the weakest gorosei because of his distance to the sun, if we consider imu to represent the earth and luffy the sun it makes sense that they are the characters with the most gravitational pull, since they are also the two most influential, and can pull allies towards them.
York fits perfectly the WG, imperialist united states nuking everybody (new york=greed)
Figarland, if emeth kills warcury, we could see figarland fitting this role, justice (moon has more influence on earth) york science, jupeter could desert (fitting for a sand worm) maybe blackbeard elder? Lmao
Also im 100pct sure saturn dies here cause bb pirates got his clone
Possibly. It's hard to say for sure what's going on. What we do know is that Oda has really emphasized that there are unique races out there with unique physiological properties and abilities. Buccaneers, lunarians etc. They're persecuted and hunted down by the world governement. I don't think we really know enough to say for sure whether it's the darkness fruit itself that allows for the extra devil fruit or perhaps it's his body or even maybe it requires both the fruit and his body
thats tru

Bro is nuts 💀. Imagine if its true
Law will join luffy against Imu to take his imortality, so luffy can finish it and law dies because of it
@thorny onyx how does bro know
Just had a theory. Maybe it’s been said before. What if at laughtale joyboy planted a seed which needed more time to grow or fruit which is why Roger and his crew were too early?
Makes sense, law has done his job by defeating big mom, and he is looking for a reason of his life by looking for the D, so he will learn the truth about his name, that water D is the guarding of Monkey D 800 years ago, so he can fullfil his dream
Definitely agree with the shanks luffy fight part of this theory, but as for his motivations I believe he is working secretly for the gods knights. Whatever he learned upon making it to the one piece with Roger has to be a reason why he did nothing up until recently just like Rayleigh, but unlike Rayleigh being content to watch from the sidelines shank has a mission. The fact that he stole a fruit from cp9 and put it within arms reach of luffy I don’t think was coincidence or destiny. I think shanks may have known luffy was a member of the D clan and that gomu gomu no mi would have some sort of special effect on him that would actually allow him access to the one piece unlike Roger. I believe dragon is aware of this as well hence why he’s kept such a close eye on luffy this whole time and also mentioned luffy’s destiny in logue town. I think dragons hope is to cut shanks off at laugh tale as well and I imagine we will see dragon and the revs fight against figarland as well
Yus
Thank you oda sensei
i think i finally put into place at least one character belonging to each of the 'satellites' of whoever the big character is, running off of how the snakes seemed to work in skypeia, and with the WG's label of worst generation makes me think that if there is a bigger sattelite situation for one bigger god character, there is a system in place to spit out another of them if they were to die,
which could be used like a vending machine of monarch infants ready to be groomed and molded, like judges stockpile of clones in a warehouse, but of the six specific nobilities that can command the world through the generations, letting one single entity monitor and run things x6 from a single separate location. a system of Six Kings, of VI Kings. each a champion of a different aspect of that god, Six Powers, Rokushiki,
or at the very least there are six bloodlines that should be payed attention to
consuming the Dark Fruit binds the eater’s soul to its essence. Each time the fruit is consumed anew, it absorbs the experiences, abilities, and willpower of its previous bearers, growing increasingly powerful with each reincarnation. This cycle of consumption and empowerment creates a legacy within the fruit, making it a formidable force that evolves and adapts with every new soul it binds. I believe the other personalities/souls of Blackbeard can only come out during the night or in total darkness. this is also how Blackbeard can eat multiple devil fruits because he has multiple souls and this is why the dark fruit is considered the most evil and deadliest fruit of them all also the amount of devil fruits you can eat depends on the amount of souls that are within the fruit.
qq who do we think Emet is?

ju peter will betray imu
The silhouette has to be one of the God’s knights since everyone on the page has connections to each other e.g Sabo and Imu, Blackbeard and Shanks, Buggy and Luffy, Koby and Akainu etc. and the pattern is in why that would make it so
I have a theory
What if luffy dies in elbaf arc and he is revived in some way but without his devil fruit
first of all why? second of all Oda is not a fan of reviving. Thats one of the reasons he doesnt kill a crazy amount of characters, so that he can decide to reuse them at some point
The thing about the silhouettes is similiar to this , if thr leakers is not bullshitting about shanks twin then it could be true, tbh its also make sense if Garling might have another son after shanks lost and taken by roger.
And also all of those characters just showing they all might impact all the story in the future and probably face each other.
Does jinbe know smth abt the sun god? When luffy turned into gear5 at egghead for thr first time, jinbe knew about the sun god nika
I dont think law still has its fruit, but regardless, blackbeard interest in it really seems to point to “wanting to dethrone imu”
1 - hes black like imu
2 - acting in the shadows, nobody knew about his power level for a long time, but everybody knows he is strong
3 - darkness fruit fits the theme
4 - he is the only yonko that is firmly estabilished in a place (hochinosu) pirate x wg dichotomy resemblance - hochinosu is pirates marie jois
5 - he was after laws fruit, hes after immortality
6- considering imus direct elders having crazy DFs, imu powers must be closely tied to the origin of devil fruits
Its not yet confirmed that the gorosei has DF power, which 90% they do but law does not have any point to be in the story relevant
I am not sure what you mean but his fruit is one of the most relevant (imu got a buff from its awakening) and law is a D
Law as character is not relevant anymore, his DF is
Oda wanted to get rid of big mom kaido law and kid but due to his DF he remains in the story. Law escaped BB, he still has his DF, BB did not take it away. So the only logic option for law is to sacrifice himself for the D to un-imortal Imu, so luffy can finish him off
That's just your own opinion that his character is not relevant which he still relevant.
Your funny saying hes not relevant anymore while he literally have something important to do (To know the meaning of D) and yes his DF also, in fact he still alive indicate his role is still going and he might have big impact to the story.
In fact his name Water being Taboo make him more interesting.
Also you just want to push your own theory about law sacrifice while there literally no proof that he might do it, and the thing is luffy wont even want that.
Luffy did not want the sacrifice from mr2 or pedro but it still happened, i dont try to push my opinion so someone accepts it, at the end Oda writes it, not me. The thing is if Ivankov said that 800 years ago there was the name Imu present, means that Imu is imortal, to remove it Law needs to sacrifices himself to take the imortality away, thats why he will die at the end
@thorny onyx
He is not Immortal.
From its name its just give the user "No Age" And cant die due to old age but that doesn't mean imu cant be hurted
Even from the elder we see them can be hurted it's just they're regeneration power made them look invincible/immortal.
Kid is a vegapunk or vegapunks son
He dosent say his name and always says punk
Also are off of
7 sins
The 7 sins everyone has
Theirs good
Greed
Ect ect
Lilith is lust
Or whatever
Vegapunk spit his emotions into 7 numbers
Kid is 7 wich would be pride
Kid is the pride one why his only emotion is pride never has fear
Also why he left too much pride to just be a vegapunk Also his arm has 7 on it coincidence I think not
Why do you use 7 sins when none of the other Vegapunks are sins. Shaka, Edison, and Pythagoras are not sins. Evil is not a sin. There is no lust. There is just greed right? The only sin is greed unless you count violence as the sin of wrath.
I also like the theory because one of Vegapunk's sea monsters also looks like kid and there are 7 sea monsters
- Kid builds high tech stuff
- 7 sea monster robots looks like their vegapunk counterpart, one of them looks like Kid
- Kid uses punk in all of his attack names
- He has 07 on his railgun
What version of vegapunk would he be? The aggressive one?
sure and then all the stuff that doesnt seem to work like for example Kids backstory from the SBS, why make Kid and then nothing for years and then suddenly make 6 more?
Not that I agree with the whole Kid being a vegapunk thing, but he could be somewhat of a failed version that left and then he might have decided to redo the making again
It still doesn't make sense and fit to what Kidd background is to Vegapunk
Just because kidd say punk to his attack and then he have some random number on his robotic arm doesn't mean hes Vegapunk clone
And the "IMPORTANT" Part is Vegapunk would mention kidd and tell luffy about him if hes a clone.
Also where would the name eustass come from then. Or even the fact that he’s a D
So Kid's a Vegapunk because he used "punk" in his technique's name? Are we not gonna talk about the original Vegapunk then?
i bet that shanks twin is wearin an eyepatch
Where does the theory that shanks has a twin or brother suddenly come from? There is not even the tiniest hint for something like that or am i missing something important?
Its started when the leakers said there a silhouettes similiar to shanks, and also the sword which born the theory about shanks brother, Flame Mark, and god knight
Tbh if we think logically its possible for garling to have other kid after shanks lost in GD but thats still a theory and speculation
it could be another figarland but there is basically no chance it's a twin imo just insanely lazy writing
There are two panels that get compared. One where Shanks is speaking with Whitebeard about the blackbeard/shanks situation, and one where "Shanks" is speaking with the Gorosei. In those two panels Shanks is given a similar profile but you can visibly see the scar in one panel, and not the panel with the gorosei. Now Oda has been inconsistent with other facial features for Characters like Blackbears Teeth so take it how you want. It could also be an older or younger brother of his that just looks near identical as well. It could also just be Shanks.
I personally think that Shanks was being written into a twist with the meeting of the elders. Perhaps Oda changed his mind after 💡 having a much better idea arise for his final arc. To combat a previous piece of info he now has to create a mysterious stranger that looks like him. Perhaps Bon-chan's fruit is being used in a dastardly way as well.
what about this panel in this anime panel we cant see the scar but there is a scar in the manga panel
i think animators and oda sometimes just forgot to draw
I mentioned that above. They are almost notorious for missing facial features. Look at the different missing teeth that blackbeard has from multiple panels. People devised a theory that it shows his "3 heads" because they think he is cerberus
Do u think zunesha made the devil fruits and that was the crime from which he was forced to walk in the sea forever for

Remember, the supernova were a last minute addition. Their longevity is not concrete. Could the Ope Ope No Mi have been a long-range plan? Maybe...but law wasn't.
Also, Luffy and BB are the ONLY Worst Generation in the final panel of 1121.
Can Kidd and Law show up again? Most likely? However, they are less relevant than those characters in the final panel of the current chapter
There is a theory that Shanks was not meeting with the elders, but that he has a twin.
We have a silhouette, and people that pointed out that only the "good side" of Shanks' body was shown, implying that Oda was hiding that the individual at the meeting had both arms and no eye scar
In the recent chapter, Vegapunk linked the various "lost races" to a "quirk" in history.
Were Fishmen, Three Eyes, Lunarians, Buccaneers, and possibly Shandians, among other possible races, a result of experiments by the Ancient Kingdom?
OG Vander D. Ecken is Zunesha
OG Vander Decken legend is that he's a """captain""" ( he might not be as they erased joyboy from history ) of a pirate crew that existed hundred years ago and they all rode on the Flying Dutchman ( if we consider that joyboy is the pirate with an eye-patch, the flying dutchman being his ship is a good correlation ). And "then, according to legend, one dark and stormy night, Decken suddenly went mad and began killing off his crew mates by throwing them off the ship. He then invoked the wrath of God by defying him, and as a punishment, he and his ship were cursed to wander the seas forever.[1] However, as legends tend to exaggerate, several points are debatable ". Then you might question, wtf does this have to do with zunesha, sure. First, he was cursed to wander the seas forever, second, male elephants have something called musth. "The males present particular difficulties due to a temporary state of heightened aggressive behavior unique to male elephants called "musth." When he is in this state, the danger the elephant poses to other animals and the people around him is considerable ". Maybe his sin is the Wrath, and in this state of wrath he went berserker and betrayed joyboy without control of his actions and now he is cursed forever.
I have more things from " The Phantom Ship " story that supports this
The thing is that doesn't make sense. Why would Zunesha is Vander Decken?
If The Character is already introduced as That then he is the vander decken there no other than that and the thing is there no even one single connection and evidence of it.
And you now trying to Stretch Vander Name lmao into a D? Vander D Ecken? Lol
Read the text.
Why would its Experiment from ancient kingdom? While we literally know those Wing people is already live first in the moon and then they're migrated to the mary geoise until they got slaughtered? Doesn't make sense if those people were experiment And same as other race.
@torn sluice I read your BS and it doesn't make single sense its still doesn't have any concrete evidence to make it more sense , and you just try to stretch thing.
How so
Read what i said oh god. You telling me to read while you didn't understand what i said funny.
Headcanon enough?
If you can read you can see the correlation, also i didnt even used the original story that is the part 2 of the theory. If you want concrete facts and confirmed things go to another channel, its manga "Theories". Guess you can't even read the channel's name.
Come to #manga dont argue in this chat.
Calm down, just because i said your theory doesn't make sense (It is) you're gone mad, yes it's a theory but the thing like i said it doesn't make sense your whole theory just based on your whole headcanon.
No fact, nor strong evidence, just BS, you just based on your own opinion and not in the real story.
There is strong evidence in the theory.
Take this to manga serious
@torn sluice To discuss this take this to manga serious.
Bring it there.
Ok, so the Viz is different than the unofficial.
The unofficial states "those with rare and unique ancestry are relentlessly persecuted and slaughtered due to some mysterious quirk in history"
While the Viz states "the machinations of history and fate seem to insist on the obliteration of the last descendants of rare races"
I stand corrected
The dark fruit steals the users soul and the soul becomes one with the fruit so with every user it passes through the more souls added which means the fruit becomes way more powerful every time it rebirths. Blackbeard is the current user and we can see on his flag there is 3 skulls and he Carries 3 pistols. I believe Blackbeard has 3 souls himself, the previous dark fruit user, and the user before them. This is also how he can obtain multiple devil fruits by cloaking himself in total darkness using black curtains so that his other souls can come out and consume the fruit. Teach is in control during the day but his other souls come out during night time or in total darkness this is why they say Blackbeard doesn’t sleep because his other souls are in control at night and they are much more cunning more evil and more powerful than Teach I believe these souls once belonged to Rocks D xebec who I think was the previous dark fruit user and possibly Blackbeards father. And a guy from the void century who used the dark fruit and was joyboys brother or crew member who betrayed him and is a distant relative of teach and rocks even the gorosei talked about teach having a special lineage. Rocks had a son (Teach) for the reason of making sure his legacy continues.

impossible
It's just a theory I'm looking into more evidence
I might not agree with your theory but I see the vision and where you’re coming from. I like the effort you put into this and would like to hear more from you. Don’t get discouraged by the words of others

Thank you and this is just the start of the theory, i didnt posted the other part with a lot of more evidences here.
that's actually smart
The egg on roger ship is a creature that roger leave to guard laughtale (roger didn't intend to at first)
where is it said Zunesha is male ?
His voice.
@fresh remnant this isn’t the place for overtly obvious one-line comments. Please read the channel’s description and use #manga next time for stuff like that
do you want to elaborate a bit more on why you think so? I believe we still saw the egg on Roger’s ship after he left Laugh Tale in ch968

My husband & I are watching the Zou arc & he JUST learned about the Road Poneglyphs for the first time. He said to me, “what if Raftel is actually a knock up stream that happens once in a generation? And they ride the Noah from Fishman Island up to the moon?”
😭???
#ONEPIECE
considering normal ballons can canonically reach it I don't see why tbh
@pale drift
This is an interesting theory, as anything is possible with the way Oda foreshadows.....however...the Noah was left behind by Joyboy for the Fishmen, to be pulled by Sea Kings, under the command of Poseidon.
This obviously happened before Joyboy was defeated, and sometime between the exile of the Fishman race and the destruction of the world.
Not saying the Sea Kings can't pull Noah up the Knock Up stream, but it seems unlikely to me since the Noah was potentially built with no knowledge that a side effect of Uranus' power would be a knock up stream.
Though, I do support 100%, that the "opening the door to laughtale" is a time sensitive event
I'm actually gonna back this up a little bit. We know, from as far back as Arlong, Jinbe, Neptune and Shirahoshi's visit to Marie Geoise, Otohime's visits topside, etc., that Fishmen are, in fact, surface dwellers.
Fishman Island used to be on the surface, whether it be part of a continent, or island.
Fishmen are also fish people. Why would they need a ship to bring them to the surface, when we have seen many of them SWIM to the surface.
Noah's true purpose eludes me, but I've seen a theory about Noah being used to save the "non-fish people", when Uranus rains down a 2nd time.
Just a thing that came to my mind.
Lets say luffy somehow reached the end of grandline which is laughtale. Now its just makes me wonder How is Luffy's gonna go against the whole goverment? Now my this theory kind of deteriorates knowing the world is sinking and of course luffy would want to stop the goverment/imu from doing soo. But I think there will be more reason for luffy to go against the goverment and support the unknown character to luffy which is joyboy.
Now we know that Luffy is not a kind of character that listens to the whole story of 100 years and go against the government. But what i think what may happen is the dream of Joyboy being same as luffy which was also similar with Rogers. It may not be exactly the same but both may have to have the same foundation for their dreams (which we still don't know). This may sound odd and someone may say its boring but if roger having this dream is plausible, then joyboy which was born 900 years ago may have had a same dream. This is why maybe the Joyboy's crew also wanted to make his dream possible and inherited the WIll OF D(maybe Dream/Dawn/Destiny of Joyboy's dream). It can be interpretted in these words. Maybe that is also the reason ODA hasn't revealed Luffy's and Roger's dream. Joyboy being first pirate kind of had similar chararcter like luffy, who just wanted to explore the whole world.
This is what i came up with. Any Feedback is welcome...
I think Luffy dream is to touch or be the sun
I had a theory his dream was to free the world, but that was before he told the rest of the crew about it. I only thought of it because during the flashback, ace and sabo thought luffy was crazy for thinking of that. This mightve been because of how cruel the world was and that it would be near impossible to free everyone. It was 2 years ago anyways
Tbh this is good, we already see the thing you talk about, Both Luffy and roger is similiar and then there also joyboy make it more interesting about those 3.
Three people having the same will and possible dream and ambition like
Joyboy is the first one then passed down to roger and last is luffy.
Which is after they find laugh tale luffy might know the truth or history speak about his power, D history etc like when he learn about wano
Anyone have theories about Seraphim Crocodile devil fruit (if logias are not possible)
lmao
ayyo
What if Joyboy turned some people into fishmen as a last resort and thus fishmen were born?
Because his original plan with the noah got screwed for some reason, and in order for them to survive he just turned them into fishmen and left an apology poneglyph like "uhh, yeah, that didnt go as planned, but that's what i can do for now, sorry"
Right.... Now that i think about it he is the outcast of the seraphims
Crocodile unlike mihawk doesnt have anything else that makes him stand out
Crocodile isnt a fighter like doflamingo
I more just meant
He is a Logia
I thought that point was already clear
?
I meant as in, logias can't be replicated
so what does he do
Ik that vegapunk gave us a essay about it
What i replied to your comment was the fact that he has nothing outside his logia power unlike mihawk and doflamingo
Also mihawk and doflamingo use haki and afaik crocodile does not UNLESS he learned it
The voice of all things is just the capacity to understand the language of the Ancient Kingdom.
The entire world used the same language. Knowing Impel Down is some important location from the past, it resembles Babel Tower. Thats why Luffy and Roger can hear the voice of things from the past like Sea Kings, zunesha, emeth, etc. They can't read the poneglyph just like when you can speak a language but can't read it. They just have a vague idea
clearly its more than that
More? Like?
why would the "language of the ancient kingdom" be some kinda of telepathy with animals/objects? i dont see the connection there
So they all can speak the same language
The thing is also only few people can heard it, if its language of ancient kingdom thats literally bullshit.
Because we know that only "gifted" People can have it
Like people who bear D or some clan. Like oden can also hear it even though he is not a D
yea i think its more likely something to do with haki but who knows, we really cant say at this point
I don't know if its connected to haki, but possible or its seperate since its literally different because the thing is you can hear something unusual.
Like when momo say luffy is still alive maybe he can heard luffy beat or will, and also he can hear zunesha speak to him from a far and give him order.
I was just looking at 1121's final panel again. Just occurred to me, the entire top half are the 4 emperors.
One thing that is interesting about these 4 emperors is this:
Luffy has Robin, Blackbeard has Pudding.
Buggy and Shanks? Well, while they didn't go, they were part if the Pirate crew that found laugh tale. They knew Oden. Could they have learned to read Poneglyphs from Oden?
I'm a little thrown off, because there seem to be 12 contenders for the One Piece, but narritively, the reader knows that only Robin and MAYBE pudding can read the Poneglyphs to get there
what if something happens at the red line cross if the path into grand line is blocked off
Then it would form a x
The more we learn about our the gods valley incident the more likely I think it is that that’s Brooks homeland. Aside from Franky, Chopper, and Brook, everyone has had an arc focusing on them significantly
Predicting Choppers arc will be in relation to Doc Q having a background with Hiriluk. Not sure what Frank would get
What are you on about? Did you not read about brook? Or sbs about brook?
Haven’t been up to date on sbs. Did we get more Brook lore?
Brook was born in a kingdom in a west blue i forgot the name, he was poor and he became the soldier there until he met his pirate crew, and yes god valley is also from west but doesn't mean thats brook homeland
He even say that thriller bark is just from his soil homeland
There is little concrete evidence I agree. However I’d be surprised if Brooks knighthood wasn’t expanded on and linked to the current narrative. Gods Valley is a west blue kingdom currently being developed in the narrative. Additionally it would create more emotional stakes if and when the straw hats have to battle gods knights. Since Brook would have personal beef with them.
The thing is that, the event of god valley took place after brook death and there no single connection to brook in god valley.
god valley was a small island is not a kingdom and also its not affiliated with WG /Marine thats why we literally see the whole masscare in there.
And once again no single connection to brook to god valley
Brook didn’t need to be there for the gods valley incident. Also Gods Valley did have a ruler and could be considered an independent kingdom
But still prove my point thats not brook homeland.
Brook wasnt even born in god valley
And you can't deny it
That there no even single connection to brook in it.
various things in one piece didn’t initially have connection. Like Kuma and Bonney
What!?
Then you need to reread ig.
Been awhile since reading Sabaody. Maybe I’m wrong
Anyways Oda like connecting things. And Brook has a lot of blanks in his history. Oda usually does something with those blanks
Yall ever notice that people with crazy strength and haki all have similar eyes
Not a single manga image
They're harder to find
Figarland family and Bonney
The Figaro name means "Barber" based on a famous opera called "Marriage of Figaro" from 1786 which is considered one of the greatest operas ever written. Figaro meaning barber could explain how Figarland Garling has such a fancy hairstyle.
In short the opera tells the story of Figaro a head servant to a Count. The Count tries to exercise his "Droit du Seigner" - his right to bed a servant girl on her wedding night with Figaro's bride-to-be, Susanna, who is the Countess's maid. Figaro, Susanna, and the Countess conspire to embarrass the Count and expose his scheming, and in the end Figaro and Susanna are finally able to marry.
We know that Mary Geoise and the Holy Knights have French inspirations and the Figarland family in my opinion draws inspiration from this very famous opera "Marriage of Figaro". From chapter 1121 we see the shadow of a character that has a similar sword to Shanks and many have theoriezed that it could be a Figarland family member possibly Shanks's brother.
If Oda has drawn inspirations for the Figarland family from this famous opera then Susanna from the story could have ties to Ginny - Bonney's mother. When we first saw Ginny in God Valley we know that she had inside information about the prize devil fruit's that she leaked as she was a slave for the World nobles.
Ginny could have been a slave for the Figarland family, and I suspect that this shadowy figure who could possibly be the brother of Shanks could be Bonney's biological father which would mean that Bonney would be a Figarland by blood.
From a story perspective it would be interresting if Bonney would join the Straw Hats to the final war and then face her real father in an emotional confrontation in Mary Geoise.
Ok serious question before I go down the rabbit hole in my mind. Has there been any theories about sky whales?
the devil
feel like ive seen tons of den den mushi w em too,,, tbh probably a reach tho
I think Imu along with the gorosei and most likely the other CDs are all purists. Similar to Voldemort. They discriminate against anyone who isn't a pure human/blood. It explains the genocides of other races and even humans who just don't have the pure blood. It's why there's nobody that I can recall that was allowed to be a CD, they just gave people false hopes/dreams. And I don't recall a CD with devil fruits. Doflamingo was a 'fallen' CD cos of his dad, I don't think they regarded him as a CD. And clearly they have access to DFs but choose to 'soil' their slaves with the impurities of a DF. The gorosei may not be fruit users, if they are then there's a deeper meaning to this theory.
There's all kind of sharingan-y in appearance
This is a stretch, its just a eye nothing special.
There alot of char have a similar eyes like that so no its just a eye nothing special.
i think imu is the embodiment of haki but i have no evidence to support it, except for when he hit sabo meaning imu has haki
law is gonna die in the final battle
Oda said the final battle will be deadly and considering law's ability to grant eternal life by his own death makes it seem like he was made to be killed, he might give up his life for luffy ,considering luffy already hacked away years at his life with using gears
luffy with eternal life is not gonna happen
i wonder who will he save
Bonney
Why ?
is it true momonosuke can time travel or was that a theory?
Momonosuke did time travel, he can't though. Toki made them Time travel. Momonosuke's only special ability is his devil fruit. Besides that he is just a kid in an adults body.
Hello first time here, can we discuss Vivre Card Theories?
As i just found vivre card updated of Dracule Mihawk
And it had mention of 4th Haki Divine Haki
Vivre cards aren’t canon but I mean there’s nothing to stop you from discussing them
helo .
Why is nobody discussing the kizaru is vegapunk theory?
because that impossible?
This is sooo far fetched
You can make a good theory out of this to be fair
idk man . even after 6 years . i still think vegapunk could be kizaru .well what can we do other than waiting till we see more details about the vegapunk situation in the future
but not sure how?
nop
Ok then, please use #manga or #manga-serious for more casual brainstorming stuff.
This channel’s for theories that have already been thought out with evidence/reasoning
my bad man . i was just trolling hhhhh
Zoro and Sanji vs The Elders
Following up on my past mini theory about Topman Warcury and how his durability works: #manga-theories message , I think it's time I go into further detail on who Zoro and Sanji, the Wings of the King, will fight in the final war.
First things first, I subscribe to the theory that Ju Peter is a traitor to Imu. There have been a few videos out there explaining this idea but I might do a full write up for that later since none of them fully capture the theory imo. For the sake of this post, I'm excluding Peter, but if he does stay as one of Imu's top fighters, he may fight any of: Dragon, Sabo, Kid, Law, Yamato, Kuzan, Katakuri, or maybe someone else entirely.
The obvious assumption is that Zoro should fight Nusjuro, right? They've clashed recently and as the two frontrunner swordsmen of the respective factions, it seems inevitable. If the numbering order of the Gorosei is to be trusted, Peter should be no. 1, and with his betrayal Zoro would be fighting the strongest subordinate as per usual. However after Chapter 1113 the idea of Sanji vs Nusjuro as a subversion of this has become more popular.
Nusjuro and Sanji both focus in on speed and Venus is the god of love, but the idea of Zoro and Sanji fighting someone to mirror each other is possible. It's happened in a movie before, as well. In that case though, who would Zoro's opponent be?
Well, this is where my last Topman theory comes in. He's clad in flames with incredibly tough durability which may work the same as the Lunarians, one of which Zoro has already fought before, and Sanji may have connections through MADS and his Lineage Factor being altered. If the Gorosei's strength is instead based on the order of planets, Topman would be the strongest subordinate and Nusjuro the second, presenting the possibility for a swap.
Mars also seems a viable opponent for Sanji, but aside from those physical characteristics, there's another reason I think Topman is more suitable (besides being the no. 3, like SANji). The Hoki or Fengxhi, in legend, is actually cooked and turned into a stew after it is slain, making him the perfect victim for the cook of the crew. While a swap is still possible for the two Wings, I think that Oda may simply choose the more obvious route and have Zoro and Sanji fight the characters more similar to themselves, rather than each other. Mars the Itsumade may instead be felled by Usopp, as the yokai is killed by a great archer.
As for Saturn, well, I think we should wait to see how Egghead ends to determine his fate, especially with Katarina Devon having recently copied his appearance. To see more, you can check out an idea I had about Garling becoming an Elder here:#manga-theories message
If he does remain though, Bonney, Robin and Franky (or multiple of them) may be viable options for his matchups, and depending on how Egghead ends, maybe I'll explore those routes more in the future. Hell, we might even have an answer in the next chapter.
I thought they were Canon? Why aren't they?
Because they’re not written or advised by Oda, same reason movies or anime filler aren’t canon
Oda does review them I think? So long as they don't directly contradict the manga they are considered canon
As much as I appreciate the work you have put into this I am still going to have a hard time believing that the Strawhate crew knowingly take in a child on their ship. There are so many themes from earlier in the manga about children not going out to sea as pirates until they are ready. Feels like it would be a lot of awkward writing around sanji's persona as well
I js thought they were Canon since they were in alabasta and sabaody
No not really, the Vivre Cards are entirely written by an outside company and its been said that Oda "peruses" them but that he definitely doesn't have the time to check all their info and make sure everything is right
Which is essentially the same level of involvement he has with movies, anime, LA, etc - so if none of those are canon why would vivre cards be. The Vivre cards are basically just merchandise
ohhh right i forgot about that. thank you!
Vivre cards are in the manga at several points how are they not canon?
When
Ace gives one to Luffy in alabasta, Lola gives one to Nami in Thriller Bark, we literally see Ace's vivre card burn up, and even in chapter 1000 Yamato makes Aces card that burned up
Just to name a few times...they've always been around Luffy even kept aces card in his hat band. The whole reason Jack found ZOU was because he got a vivre card from Kanjuro??????????
Its different
I'm talking about the Databooks which are called "Vivre Cards", not the actual vivre cards in the manga
That's kinda dumb they are named that my b
wasn't the Vivre cards not being canon debunked a few years ago? https://gyazo.com/dde7e53d1e95b527c38268cb819b06b4 edit: Full interview https://one-piece.com/usop/o20180926_0947/index.html
I Wouldn't be suprised if i seen an impel down, break out again, Due the world is sinking,
So far, we gonna see Doffy X bon D goat.
does anyone ever wonder if shanks knows what the one piece is?
maybe roger told him when he came back and thats what made him cry, as well as losing the desire to actually find it because he knew what it was. now he's getting it because the hunt is ramping up and he knows whatever it is brings great power that he doesnt want in the hands of blackbeard.
The thing is that after roger came back from laugh tale, roger maybe say something so important about it which made shanks cry, he probably also told about the crew will be disbanded which make him also cry, there alot of speculation but it could be possible that shanks might know about it because roger told him.
Since shanks was like the guardian/gate keeper to laugh tale.remember when roger met madam sharley and the Poseidon is not born yet?
I think that's the reason why shanks waiting for 20 years, like he probably learned from all the poneglyph that he found while he still in roger crew and aligned all of it, also how does he know that the WG ship carry a fruit that time? That's also a big mystery, but the only possible answer that he could be have some infomant in WG or even he could be spying there since he can speak with the elder.
But tbh shanks probably try to find someone important which is why he kept the fruit, and probably that time he try to find Ace, but in the end the fruit choose luffy which is even better and shanks realize that luffy is siimilr to his captain, and shanks probably also know about the Gomu fruit and probably about the nika itself.
So it's not surprising why we see shanks reaction like that in wano, like he know it all the time.
And i also think that when he say this
Shanks: "Bec, Its time to claim one piece".
After he see luffy Nika
Like he probably referring to " Lets End This".
And Were in The Final Saga.
the issue with this is that if roger told him joyboy had to find it, wouldn’t he ally himself with joyboy rather than compete against him to find it?
unless you’re suggesting he’s going to find it and give it to luffy
Just because he say " It's time to claim one piece doesn't mean he gonna have conflict with him" The thing is that i interpret hes intention for saying that is "its time to end this war/chaos".
I mean he probably also want to see what is the one piece, but the thing he has another big thing going on his way such as " Blackbeard and could be his own father".
Shanks also keep BB out of luffy way so just you know he is protecting luffy.
He arrived in wano that time because he was waiting for BB to arrive and also he protect SH from Green bull.
if he’s planning on claiming the one piece at the same time luffy is planning to claim it there’s conflict right there
i did read all of it but it doesn’t change the fact that if they are aiming for the same thing they’re destined to conflict
Did you read all the text?
If you read it then you know it.
And if you want to argue about it then you can do it in #manga-serious
late, but its canon

Ahem…
I have something of a theory…. Kaido is kind of a good guy.. or atleast he is wanting to bring about the return of Joyboy.
He told King he was “the only one” who could change the world but didn’t specify how .
He also told King that whoever defeats him will be Joyboy and “just so happened” to take control of Wano, which has the ancient weapon pluton under it? Definitely not a coincidence.
He even asked Luffy “who are you” after going into Gear 5th to ensure that he was still himself and not taken over.
He tanked that 5th punch HOPING to lose. His main mission was to defeat the 5 elders . That’s why he wanted to start the war, to “drag them down here” to fight them as well. It would also explain why he was so upset when those people who COULD defeat him, Luffy and Oden, were tricked and ended up losing, thought Luffy did get back up. Remember when he told Dripper Scarfino aka Guernica, “ so you know what you’ve done ?” He was possibly referring to stopping the return of JoyBoy.
Also explain why he was so tough on Yamato. He may have been trying to turn Yamato into Joy boy by making him someone strong enough to defeat him.
Kaido the biggest bone to pick with the world government based on his backstory and how they treated him so him just wanting to start chaos for the cycle chaos doesn’t really align with what could be motivation
I feel like Kaido was a self serving alcoholic that cared about no one. He tortured, starved, and killed people from a nation of people in order to power a war machine that fed governments tools to slaughter each other even more. His rants are mere Bravado, and I just assumed that he only talks about Joy boy at all because Rocks probably talked about him like he was some unbeatable figure. We were talking about someone that would purposefully get captured by the marines when he was hungry because he never had fear of death. He could have massively inflicted damage to the world government whenever he wanted to and instead chose to self serve himself. He was a massive POS with 0 redeeming qualities.
ou my bad lol
I understand that but check it out…. He told King “you still think I’m Joyboy huh?” He had given up on being Joyboy. He went from being the only one able to change the world to no longer believing himself to be the one to do it, Joyboy. King DEFINITELY told him of the legend that his people passed down. But once Kaido figured out he couldn’t be Joyboy he decided to become something that Joyboy had to overcome! Kind of like Batman being the hero they need but not the one they wanted. He enslaved people so Joyboy could set them free. He became a villain to facilitate the need for a hero… But that’s me being an English teacher and over analyzing it 😂🤣
How he treated oden I feel counters that immensely. The first person to ever injure him and he wins the fight after oden is distracted by another. Never gives him the second opportunity for a fair fight and instead tortures him. It is pure narcisssim and not the drive to find someone who can best him. You can think of it like someone saying the only person that can defeat me is god himself. That was how he spoke with king. If you beat me then you must be god himself since no one else has a chance.
@brisk hamlet you’re not banned if you’re able to talk rn. If you’re having any specific issues with a particular channel, please DM a mod/admin and they’ll be able to help better
Kaido has a philosophy that revolves around the "natural state" of the world and how the strong eat the weak, so even though he wants someone to be able to challenge him, he isn't gonna give Oden a second chance to beat him because its Oden's fault that he got caught off guard. Kaido perceives sentimentality as weakness, so in his mind Oden being distracted by his child being threatened was just a sign of weakness from Oden, and while its not how he wants to win he isn't going to validate it by giving him a second chance.
Essentially a mindset of "if you were just stronger, that wouldn't have happened to you". As to whether or not he's narcissistic or arrogant, I mean you can say he is I guess, but you can also argue that his "arrogance" isn't unfounded. He genuinely is the strongest, or at least within the top 2-3 strongest depending on your interpretation. In his entire life he's only met a handful of people who can match him, let alone beat him, so why would he not be arrogant and talk the way he does?
i feel like king is gonna play a role in future arcs
the yami yami no mi has the unique ability to consume the souls of all its previous users. This theory suggests that Rocks D. Xebec was the previous user of the Dark Fruit and now his soul resides within the fruit, influencing its current user, Marshall D. Teach
According to this theory, the Dark Fruit doesn’t just grant the ability to control darkness and gravity; it also absorbs the essence, or soul, of its user upon their death. This means that every individual who has ever possessed the Dark Fruit leaves behind a fragment of their consciousness within the fruit. When Blackbeard consumed the fruit, he not only gained its dark powers but also inherited the collective souls of all its previous users.
Rocks D. Xebec, being a particularly powerful and malevolent soul, has a significant influence over the fruit’s abilities and its current user. This could explain Blackbeard’s extraordinary knowledge and ambition, as he might be drawing on Xebec’s strategic genius and ruthless nature. Additionally, this connection could shed light on Blackbeard’s unusual physiology, which some fans speculate is due to the multiple souls within him.
The theory posits that Blackbeard’s ability to use multiple Devil Fruits something previously thought impossible is a result of the Dark Fruit’s unique properties. By hosting multiple souls, Blackbeard can bypass the limitations that prevent someone from consuming more than one Devil Fruit. The Dark Fruit, with its ability to absorb and contain souls, provides a vessel for these powers, allowing Blackbeard to wield both the Dark Fruit and the Quake Fruit without suffering the fatal consequences.
In essence, Blackbeard’s formidable strength and mysterious abilities are not solely his own but are amplified by the collective might of the souls within the Fruit. The presence of Rocks D. Xebec’s soul, in particular drives Blackbeard’s ambitions to reshape the world and attain ultimate power, continuing Xebec’s legacy through his new vessel.
Yap Yap Yap
yo im too lazy to read all that but teach was like this before he ate the fruit tho
End of Egghead “The Egghead Incident”
I think once the straw hats and giants escape the elders and leave egghead, every Marine, Vice Admiral, and World Govt employee on the island, along with anyone else, will be killed by the five elders. They don’t want anyone to know what their true forms are, even the people on their side.
I think this is why we were introduced to entirely new vice admirals, Oda didn’t want to kill off any of the ones he’s already written.
I also think this is what has been teased to us as the final crazy thing that happens on egghead.
And as a cherry on top the Elders will blame the whole thing on luffy, giving them an excuse to raise his bounty.
What do y’all think?
This is from reddit
But if the souls from before really did combine with that of Teach's he should still only have yami yami no mi powers since they ate the yami yami no mi aswell and thier soul is "bounded" to it.....
hi
Doesn't the Yami Yami no mi have a DF suppression effect? What if he literally suppressed his devil fruit with itself to consume a new one?
Alright let's say he did suppress the devil fruit how was he able to use it with gura gura no mi ??
In marine ford he posed the iconic pose of yami on right and gura on left??
I think a partial suppression would be more feasable and the 'burnt' on his soul was shared by all previous users...
I thought that this was going to 100% be the case as well. I was confused when Ju Peter spit all the marines and CP agents he swallowed up back onto the ships. That is the only thing that makes me think they will not wipe everyone out.
He wanted to save the seraphims i think, they dont care about cp9 fodder
Do yall think we will see Blackbeard fight another major pirate crew prior to the final war? It seems like they are setting it up for him to fight alongside the WG in return for turning him into a king and a shot at the OP. If that’s the case it’s likely that Shanks crew will be responsible for fighting them in the final war with the Revolutionaries(with Bonney joining them probably fighting against her biological father who might be Figarland Garling) will fight the Holy Knights and then the Strawhats having to fight the Gorosei and the Admirals? Shanks is definitely keeping tabs on Blackbeard and has him in his sights but it’ll be interesting to see when Oda decides to have them face off. Imo Blackbeard is a more captivating final boss for Luffy to face off against than the Gorosei but it seems like they have set Shanks up as the more natural opponent since they have been in opposition of each other since they were children
I think that the blackbeard prates will go against the red haired pirates but although i dont think theyre strong enough to beat them i think they wil somehow find a way becuase that would set it up perfectly for their fight agaisnt the straw hats bc imagine how usopp and luffy would react if something happened to yasopp or shanks

Here what i got in mind
Some people might not agree but here it is.
Blackbeard is the last obstacle for luffy to fight before he reach Laugh Tale, Not the final villain,Which supported that BB is the one who talk about Luffy dream in Jaya arc remember?
BB telling luffy about dream, while BB is the one that will be Luffy last obstacle for him to reach his dream, also Elbaf and Hochinosu is close since we know that both hochi, lode and elbaf is the only island left now so that's also another big reason why luffy will fight BB is near.
Also BB captured garp which make another big reason for luffy to start a war against BB now, and this is gonna be a big war since probably we will gonna see BM pirate again and could be SWORDS and Marine, The Giant and Shanks.
And maybe WG will still tail and follow them or they will retreat since Mary geoise is also going to be under attack by Revolution.
Remember when luffy wanted to defeat all the Yonkou? This is might be a foreshadow where luffy finger shows three
2 Yonkou already fall and 1 left
I didn't include shanks because they're both are allies and friend and has no reason to fight.
So that's probably what i think about what's gonna happen next
And why i didn't put BB as the final villain? Because there imu.
Remember all this war happened because the cause of Joyboy and Imu which this conflict is still ongoing and hasn't been resolved yet.
This is why this one piece is revolving around Imu and Joyboy Ancient war.
And now its about luffy as the Future joyboy to bring down imu to settle this conflict once for all.
Yeah I like the idea of them fighting in Elbalf but I think BB has been built up too much to dispose of him prior to the final arc. Perhaps they will face off at Elbaf and then Luffy is unable to fully defeat them due to not knowing the extent of BB’s powers(talking about the theories that he has a third and hidden devil fruit). Also I’m not fully convinced Garp is necessarily captured. I think Aokiji might be a revolutionary or something along those lines. Even though it hasn’t been exposed I think he was friends with Dragon during his time in the marines. I think Garp would have been disgruntled during this time when Dragon left the marines and Aokiji and him formed a bond. I think Aokiji came to his senses later on and realized the Marines aren’t necessarily the good guys. Either way I don’t think Aokiji has been set up to be the villain he would need to be to kill/hand Garp over to BB
but yeah you are probably right the final fight will probably be Imu vs Luffy. Oda has a lot to cook up for us before this story is over it’s going to be insanity seeing all of these fights that are inevitable
Yeah i know but the thing BB is only builded for luffy obstacles the way i see it even both luffy and BB resemble Roger and Xebec timeline since Xebec is also roger obstacles for him to reach laugh tale.
I agree with you about aokiji he seems like a spy or something more since he is similiar to Zephyr. So aokiji might be on to something and probably one of the rats from BB crew he even stopped Garp bleed which make us also believe that garp still alive and well.
I think Aokiji will end up beating Akainu in a rematch. I just don’t think he will do it by fighting alongside the BB pirates not will he be there when the Strawhats and BB crew face off. Escaping with Garp and saving his mentor would be a great way to turn him back into a guy we can root for. At some point we will definitely have to see Garp and his sn Dragon interact so to me this a great way to set it up with Aokiji blowing his cover and having to escape back to Momoiro. This would be a great place for Garp to discover the truth about Imu on the throne and give him reason to turn Sword and other honorable marines such as Smoker and maybe even Kizaru against the WG and celestials. If all this played out like that and Aokiji has been trying to fight back against the evil aspects of the WG since the beginning it would definitely be cool to see him take over as fleet admiral at the end of the story
I believe the 5 Elders weakness is to not believe in Imu. Imu gives the 5 elders freedom by using control and manipulation. And they have the power to change that if the Elders start to reflect and question themselves. I think Saturn may have died due to failure and pettiness on Imu’s behalf because Imu might be a narcissistic control freak
that would make snese because since roger was pirate king some people may wonder why he didnt have any conflict around the world government and of course imu but that might be becuase he wasnt in any way a reincarnation of joyboy like luffy is
I really like this idea and I think whatever happens after Egghead and how the WG tries to cover it up, that the Marines are going to be even more split. I think come the final war that the SWORD faction including Coby are going to split away from the official Marines and in the end join forces with Luffy's crew and allies to fight whichever of Blackbeard or Gorosei + Imu becomes the final villain. It becomes a situation where being a Pirate or Marine lose meaning and it's all about good vs evil.
Yeah I think Oda has shown that marines haven’t had a cohesive understanding of what Justice is since the beginning. Axe Hand Morgan was the first marine we encountered and he was a tyrant. I think the split between the marines has been set up since the beginning but it will be interesting to see how the known marines side in the final war. I think marines like Koby, Fujitora, and likely Smoker are going to side with the Luffy but seeing marines like Kizaru have to decide between duty and doing the honorable thing will be very exciting to see. Once word about Imu gets out I think it will make it easier for marines to abandoned their sworn duties. We know that those who find out about Imu are killed but what happens if a strong admiral like Kizaru finds out. I think Kizaru has been shown to be a moral guy that is bound to his duties as a marine. If he finds out the whole system is a lie then he might find it easy to abandon the system that has propped up CDs like gods

nah good vs evil rethoric is way too simple for one piece i'm afraid
even more simple if it dictates the ending, nah br
So, Vegapunk's final words, and the final panel of the One Piece makes me believe that Luffy is NOT going to find the One Piece. I think he will end up with it, but I don't think he will find it.
If he DOES find it, I believe he will give it to one of the other characters, maybe Koby.
Thoughts?
nah
I mean most arcs pretty plainly portray the antagonists as evil and the protagonists as good though. One Piece typically isn't a series in which whether or not the antagonists are evil is up to interpretation, there isn't really a sensible argument you can make for people like Doflamingo, Kaido, Lucci, etc not being evil. The closest thing we get to a gray area is the Marines, since there are obviously many Marines who have good intentions, but I would say that the Marines as an organization are also evil or at least extremely corrupt and authoritarian if you're being generous and don't wanna say they're outright evil.
Ok theory that I made up during my 3am thoughts so if its a dumb one thats why
Dragon has been to laugh tale.
We know that dragon is a man fighting for the freedom of the world even though he was supposedly a very popular marine back in the day. But what gave him the final push to leave? And why havent the marines been looking for the one piece as well? My guess is that they once did, dragon and a few others used their political power to gather up the poneglyphs, did some decoding and made it to laugh tale and learned the secrets of the world just as Roger did (not getting the one piece again because they were also too early)
These secrets caused dragon to dispise the world government and go on a rampage leading to the mission to be buried just like all the rest of the worlds governments missions while dragon went to look for ways to get rid of the celestial dragons and the products of their acts
It would explain why dragon doesn't do anything and makes his henchmen act on his behalf because him doing too much would lead to the formation of a massive marine fleet and potentially the gods knights (also explains his knowledge of them)
Lol even from reading the title,i almost flabbergasted fun theory thought
What if the "D" stands for ダウンタイム (Dauntaimu; Downtime) and every time the D is mentioned, Oda can take some downtime? And it literally means nothing else?
Maybe there is the time fruit and his owner is making everyone think that the void century was 800 years ago but it actually is happening rn !!
Downtime? Can you explain more about this?
I really do belive the next 2 arcs will be Elbaf and Lodestar, which will be Usopp and Nami's arcs. In Elbaf, we will find the fourth poneygliph, and in Lodestar, maybe we will finally understand Nami's true past.
There was another one last night but Its probably worse, the shadow figure in the last chapter being Rocks D Xebec
I mean it’s an interesting theory but there’s old ancient artefacts from the void century that breaks that theory. And there already is a time fruit, Toki had it. It only let her travel forward in time
It would just be a joke for Oda to use mentioning the "D" to take a 1 week break. He'd never have to get into actually explaining the canon meaning of it, it'll remain a mystery in the OP world.
Any theories about why most if not all dismemberments we've seen in OP have been to the left arm?
I mean Katakuri, Bon Clay, Smoker, Aokiji, Mihawk, Kizaru, Kuma, Buggy, Bellamy, Helmeppo, Fujitora, Capone Bege, Arlong, Senior Pink, etc. If you only guide yourself by the most obvious characters that have to be evil to make the series appealing to the broad mainstream of course is gonna be binarism between good and evil, but the most memorable characters are without a doubt the ones in the grey area. One Piece is strong in the grey areas, for example the fight vs Kaido compared to Katakuri's feels one dimensional af and makes Wano very predictable, but hoping for the future to see more grey characters with breaking backstories and some "compasion"
Well first of all I'd say that a lot of those characters really aren't all that gray. Being somewhat likeable and having an endearing personality doesn't exclude you from being evil, and that's the case for a lot of those characters you named. Like Arlong, Senior Pink, Buggy, Kizaru? Definitely all evil. Just because Senior Pink has a sad backstory doesn't change the fact that he knowingly helped Doflamingo take over a country and enslave hundreds if not thousands of people. Just because Buggy is a silly dude doesn't change the fact that he was blowing up town blocks of Orange Town just for fun. Whether you're good or evil isn't based on whether or not you have a favorable personality, its based on the choices you make as a person.
And my main point wasn't that there can't be more morally gray characters in One Piece, my point was that typically the overarching conflicts do boil down to more straightforward good vs evil, and the morally gray characters are supplemental storylines. That's why I brought up characters like Kaido and Doflamingo, because those characters are the ones who represent the major antagonizing force in their respective arcs. For example in WCI, yes Katakuri is a more gray character but his fight with Luffy doesn't really thematically touch on that at all beyond just characterizing Katakuri himself, and the more overarching storyline of that arc revolves around Big Mom as the villain, a character who definitely is unequivocally evil.
nah are we talking about zero piece? i'm tired of people focusing on good or evil like that means anything at all in a fictional world, the "moral guiders of fiction", is just pure plain narrative. Oda gives complex nuances and they throw it away like it's not relevant, like the last speech of Vegapunk focusing on the ancient kingdom and saying they weren't good neither bad, like they had their leaks it's pretty potent by itself. Nah men you are more focused on trying to deny my argument and playing the games of antagonist duels of good and evil than appreciating the work
I mean if you think the "good vs evil" rethoric is so present and overshadow all the rest of plots then why tf are you even watching it? For sure it's not that important
But you can't deny it that this about good vs evil?
The thing that this people this good people were enslaved by bad people lol.
And Luffy came to save them all this entire series and after all this joyboy reveal then we know why he like that.
I do appreciate Oda's work, One Piece is my favorite manga and saying that it actually does focus on conflicts of good and evil in a lot of its major story arcs isn't me trying to diminish it whatsoever. I think its actually a more childish mindset to think that just because the antagonists aren't "morally gray" that means that they can't still be complex characters or that the themes of the story can't still be interesting or nuanced
huh? childish? what are you implying there? You are the one who's making One Piece revolve around "good and evil" not the series cuh, because we know 100% that that's not the intention of Oda trying to portrait Luffy neither as a hero or a savior, he doesn't care about that rigged binarism, all he wants is to be free and that's complicated af. If Oda is "failing" on it then the discussion would be about trying to change its lacks to make One Piece more "critically" demanding. If you make a complex analysis for sure you won't revolve around the good or evil rethoric. Even if you think Kaido, Doflamingo and other people are "evil" you are missing a lot of lore surrounding it, you are focusing too much about individuals and they are not really the focus of the series. Also they have background and Oda doesn't point them as bad only by the words of people like Usoop or characters like that. If you reduce it to 1 vs 1 or dualisms of "good and evil" you are making the work look simple af
Obviously 1 vs 1 sells, that's the whole problem to begin with, that the rhetoric of fighting and antagonism is more demanded than compassion, guilt, sorrow, bliss, etc.. that makes life more interesting, more complicated and less individualistic, making people connect via it's nuances.
Like I said before, I think its childish to believe that stories where the antagonists are blatantly evil rather than morally gray are inherently bad or simplistic. That's a low effort level of analysis. People think that since lots of stories aimed at children focus on simplistic good vs evil storylines, that its inherently simplistic to have protagonists who are morally good and antagonists who are morally bad, and therefore in "adult stories" everyone has to be some shade of gray. That's flawed thinking. Characters can be unequivocally evil and still be interesting and nuanced, and characters can be unequivocally good and still be interesting and nuanced. Look at a character like Doflamingo. Is there any debate about whether or not he's evil? No, of course not. He's a narcissistic, mass murdering, mass enslaving, bloodline supremacist. He's the closest thing you can possibly get to objectively evil. Does that mean he's boring or simplistic? No, I think he's still a very interesting character. He forms genuine, albeit very unbalanced, relationships with his subordinates, he has fears and anxieties, he has interesting viewpoints on the world and the nature and value of morality. Just because Luffy doesn't care about being morally good doesn't mean that he isn't morally good, because like I said before morality isn't based on your personality its based on the choices you make and the actions you take, and Luffy's actions are almost always benevolent and lead to positive outcomes for the people around him. Once again, I think you're the one who's actually portraying things as much more simplistic than they really are by arguing that stories of good vs evil are mutually exclusive with more nuanced themes and characters.
man you are confusing morality with ethics. If you try to define relationships as "bad or good" you are guiding them by an already established structure of thought that is inherently moral. See Christian morality, which dictates actions on bodies. Ethics is the coherence of thought with a discourse based on sensible experience, not falling on external bodies (objects or subjects). For example, Akainu relies on the moral structure that the navy facilitates to dictate what is "good or bad", making an extremist binary compass of little complexity or that does not attend to nuances and judges bodies (again, subjects/individuals or objects), that is ideology. Ethics is distilled, for example, in Smoker's self-imposed decision to give help to the Mugiwaras when they save him, understanding that Smoker has discovered based on experience and the destabilization of his moral structure that the "enemies" are more complex and "friendly" than they seem. Then Luffy there tells him "you know... you're not that unpleasant." If you want to dictate with your compass what is "right or wrong" you are doing it from a rigid structure that allows you to frame others in such dualisms, which is the same thing that Akainu does. Basically you are not contributing anything by saying that Doflamingo is "bad" and that that "evil" (which is just bias) is interesting, that is obvious to anyone, the problem is falling back on the simplicity of "bad". Not even children are interested in what is bad and good, that is what interests moralists to give free rein to a rigid and immovable structure.
You're just talking about semantics now, if you want to get into semantics:
Ethics: "moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity." (Oxford dictionary)
Morality: "principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behavior." (Oxford dictionary"
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here ultimately, that I'm saying characters like Doflamingo and Kaido are evil from my own "biased" viewpoint on morality? Yeah, of course, morality is inherently subjective. Morality isn't something that actually exists in the physical world, it's an idea created by people, and so it can't be objectively measured. But I don't think I'm giving some hot take when I say that Doflamingo is evil. I think most people could agree to the basic view on morality that purposely and knowingly murdering, enslaving, and manipulating others for your own personal gain is evil. Therefore, within the context of the Dressrosa arc, Doflamingo was a force of evil and Luffy was a force of good. Regardless of how Luffy views himself, what actions did he objectively take? He took actions that liberated a country from suffering under a cruel tyrant. According to 99% of people's moral compasses, that made him a force of good within that context. So Dressrosa's overarching conflict can be boiled down for a battle between good (Luffy) and evil (Doflamingo). At no point in the arc are you supposed to question who is the good guy and who is the bad guy, or whether or not Luffy's actions are truly justifiable, and this goes for most arcs in One Piece.
In Thriller Bark, is there any question that Moria is a force of evil? In Alabasta, is there any question that Crocodile is a force of evil? In Skypiea, is there any question that Enel is a force of evil? Yes there are more "gray" storylines that go on in the background of those arcs, but my original point was that overarching conflicts in One Piece actually usually can be boiled down to traditional battles of good and evil, at least according to most people's sensibilities regarding those concepts.
A story that actually revolves around a somewhat morally gray conflict would be something like Death Note, in which a strict utilitarian might argue that the protagonist's actions are ultimately good due to the influence they have on the world at large, whereas a deontological thinker would argue that the protagonist's actions are inherently wrong regardless, and there are many different perspectives you can take to justify or not justify what the protagonist did. One Piece is not like that. Like I said before, there is no point at which you're supposed to wonder if Luffy is actually not a good guy or if the villains are actually morally justifiable.
I think thats pretty fair. The greyest thing i can think of is the marines, which a lot of peopel dont give them the full credit for. People act like because they support the vile CD's theyre unquestionably evil but i dont think sufficient awknowledgement is usually given to how bad the average pirates are to random civs and how important the marines are in mitigating that
Well, tell me, were you more interested in Doflamingo because he was "a force of evil" or because of his intricate sadism related to the fact that he was a frustrated tenryuubito with a childhood destroyed by the determination of his father to look for compassion where he couldn't find it, and which then correlates and feeds little Law? Even Law's confrontation against Doflamingo lies in the fact that Law did find benevolence and compassion through Corazon and not just evil and resentment. If you were interested in being a "force of evil" then Don Krieg will also seem like a great antagonist under the same logic. You are trying to defend the indefensible just because you don't want to "lose", when there is nothing to lose.
You are falling again and again in the same logic. Do you remember that moment in the first chapters where Luffy smashes Coby's face apparently for no reason just because the marines can't accept Coby if he is a friend of the pirates? That, my friend, is Luffy acting "wrong", not morally "good", but reconstructing Coby's ethics and dislocating the binarism of "good and evil", which serves no purpose other than to cause harm.
Luffy is not a good guy, he is beyond good and evil
You're literally reinforcing and agreeing with the point I made earlier in this discussion, that being unquestionably evil is not mutually exclusive with being an interesting character. Refer back to the message I sent above, 2 replies ago. My point isn't that Doflamingo is interesting because he's evil, but that he can be both evil and interesting. There isn't a causational relation between them, they're just two aspects of his character that coexist. Is Big Mom evil? Yes. Is she still an interesting character? Yes. Is she interesting BECAUSE she's evil? No. The reasoning for and manner in which she's evil are interesting parts of her character, but no she is not interesting purely because she's evil. But she is both evil, and also interesting. That's my point. A character is not simplistic, boring, or childish because they are soundly evil. Nor is a story simplistic, boring, or childish because it focuses on conflicts between evil forces and good forces.
That's literally just incorrect. Luffy caused harm to Coby, yes, but he did it for a benevolent purpose (to help Coby achieve his goals) and Coby was grateful and happy that he did that. That was not a morally wrong act, it was perfectly fine.
Again my argument is that you are not saying anything with "good" or "evil"
I'm not sure what you mean by that. I was never, at any point, trying to make statements about good or evil as concepts themselves. My point was that One Piece DOES focus on conflicts of good and evil, at least relative to the average person's sensibilities about what kind of actions are good and what kind of actions are evil.
Again you are falling in to the same logic of correct or incorrect and you are missing the interesting parts of One Piece that for you are that simple when you are really taking away all the essense of the series
i know theres like subjective morality and moral relativism but i dont think its missing the point or overly reductive to appeal to a meaning of good and evil that would be commonly understood by most people.
No I don't think so. In order for that to be the case in this context, you'd essentially have to be saying that the appeal of that scene between Luffy and Coby was the moral grayness of Luffy's actions. That people were supposed to read that scene and go "hmm I wonder if Luffy was right or wrong to do that" and discuss that with their friends. Literally nobody did that. 99% of ppl who read that scene took Luffy's actions as something good. The appeal of that scene was the personal connection between Luffy and Coby and showing how Luffy is happy to be PERCEIVED as bad in order to ultimately do something thats good.
I mean punching a person out of the blue is benevolent? Luffy could had talked to the marines to make them accept Koby without hurting him
Yeah this is what I'm saying. I'm not saying that everyone has to have the same views on morality and think exactly the same. But 99% of ppl who read OP are going to agree that most of the arc villains are evil. Arlong, Crocodile, Enel, Moria, Hody, Caesar, Doflamingo, Big Mom, Kaido, Saturn. Literally all of these characters would be perceived by 99% of the population as being very evil, and the Straw Hats are forces of good in relation to them.
yeah i think thats overly fixating on a specific note that probably didnt have any intention of deep moral consideration, it was probably mostly intended to be comedic
then fuck One Piece, it's bad people fighting good people, I'm sorry I watched through it like it was something more when that happens every day
I think you are right that there are moments where the story intentionally refuses to appeal to that sort of thing say the complicated situation in fmi as an example or the marines dual loyalty to civs vs CD as another example. I dont think the story is completely devoid of what youre pointing to, i just think that there are many moments that are more simply intended to be overthrowing a tyrant whos acting in a way thats commonly understood to be evil
I mean, im not interested in knowing if people believe is good or evil, One piece by itself its more than just that
I already said this multiple times but I'll say it again bc this will be my last reply on the topic since I think we're just going in circles now and I've said everything I want to say about this:
One Piece obviously does have storylines, themes, and characters that exist outside of just traditional good and evil, I never argued against that. My point from the very beginning was that the overarching conflicts, i.e. Straw Hats vs Doflamingo, Straw Hats vs Enel, Straw Hats vs Kaido, etc, can be boiled down to more traditionally force of good vs force of evil stories. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Art should reflect on life and most people in real life do value morality and do try to understand the world in terms of good actions and wrong actions. Agree to disagree though 👍
Yh yh we talked about it and I said that we can discuss if in certain points Oda's writing lacks complexity. But he is focused on the importance of good or evil to an extend that i don't agree with, just that
I mean, for me the "overarching conflicts" are less interesting than the other events we have seen, like i love waaaaaaay more backstories and little acts than, for example, Kaido vs Luffy. I think that this moments make One Piece plain, simple af
So you guys think the robot will follow us to elbaf or well come back for him. Or zou will pick him up again?
I think Emeth will probably be dead
careful asking for predictions/speculation when spoilers are out, can be risky
hh
It's a robot, it can't die
Why not
cause its a robot
Let’s move this discussion on Emeth’s fate to #manga-serious please
Is there a theory out there claiming Shanks and his crew are actually the God’s Knights?
Probably
Imo its really hard to reconcile shanks' actions with any secret allegiance to the WG. Especially when it comes to actions around the gum gum fruit
I’ve never really understood those theories
Theory: The Ancient Weapon Oranos is a tool which amplifies Devil Fruits. Like Awakening, but to a greater scale.
We know that Poseidon is someone like Shirahoshi, a mermaid princess who can speak to and command the Sea Kings.
We know that Pluton is a ship, a weapon buildable by carpenters, though we lack any further details.
However, despite actually seeing Oranos at work destroying Lulusia, it is the Ancient Weapon we know the least about.
However, I theorize that it is a more advanced version of Maxim, the skyship Enel used. Maxim is a ship that flies and amplifies his devil fruit to the point of destroying entire islands.
Oranos is a flying... Something which sent down a rain of some sort of energy blasts to destroy an entire island.
The rain looked very similar to the laser beams Kizaru creates. In my theory, Kizaru's power got amplified to destroy the country.
I don't have a ton of solid evidence for this, but I have a few coincidences which align with it.
First, the Void Century. Somehow, the entire world forgot about an entire century. Even isolated/hidden countries had their history wiped (Wano, the hidden "fairies" in Dressrosa). Only physical records survived, and only the physical records which the World Government couldn't destroy (the invulnerable Poneglyphs) survive to the present day. However, there'd be no point destroying the records if everyone remembered the history (that they just lived through) and wrote it down. Remember, we're like 3 giant generations from the Void Century. They could easily keep this knowledge alive via oral history, but they didn't. It seems like something wiped the memory of the world supernaturally.
We know that Pudding has the Memo-Memo fruit which lets her directly edit memories. This is my explanation for the Void Century: The WG has had control of the Ancient Weapon Oranos for 800 years now, and they used this weapon to wipe the memories of each island in the world, one by one.
Another coincidence (not really evidence) is the themes of the ancient weapons. We've got the peak of physical/natural power in Poseidon, which commands the Sea Kings. We've got the pinnacle of technological power in Pluton, which is apparently something replicable.
In One Piece, what are the major sources of power in combat? You've got those with incredible physical strength, like Zoro. You've got those enhanced by weaponry, like Franky. Finally, you've got Devil Fruits, like Luffy.
Yes, there are arguably other things. Is Haki something separate, or just physical strength? Is skill with a weapon separate from power? What about semi-magical powers like Ms. Goldenweek's paintings? But in general, there's 3 categories. We've got ancient weapons for 2... And I think Oranos completes the set.
We know that technology exists that can amplify devil fruits. Chopper's Rumble Ball allows him to create multiple new forms and even "Send his devil fruit on a rampage". I suspect it is something akin to an artificial Awakening. We've seen Minotauros and the other Impel Down guards are "Awakened Zoan users", but they lack the smoke/fire rope that Luffy, Lucci, and other Awakened Zoans get. They lose their intelligence/independence. However, they do seem to get the boost to strength/durability/recovery. Basically Monster Point.
Chopper's Rumble Ball works by "amplifying wavelengths". I suspect Oranos does something like this but to a greater extent and via some mechanical apparatus instead of a drug.
dont spoiler it
i havent and im open to having my mind changed but i just dont see this being true lol. Shanks was found extremely young by roger and by growing up as a pirate he essentially "forfeited" his rights to CD privileges and any groups made up by them and theres no turning back from that. We see this clearly with doffys dad's phone call: once you become a human you're a human forever. Doffy does have some "leverage" or whatever you wanna call it over the WG but that only lets him get away with doing human stuff and doesnt have the same privileges CDs have. its also really hard to see even JUST the core crew being CDs bc thats what u have to be to be a gods knight no? they're made up of CDs from what i remember and in a group of 20 families that only breed amongst themselves its hard to believe 5 different families (doffys + shanks core 4) have forfeited their CD rights
Why they deleted it
(Joke theory)
The one piece was supposed to be “the friends you made along the way” or “the experiences you had” but oda realized that if he did that a couple thousand people would find his location and he would be in danger so instead of a memory as the one piece he will decide to make it a weapon of infinite power or a treasure of almost infinite wealth
(Somewhat real theory)
The one piece is an eternal pose leading to the end of the world where they will learn how to unite the oceans and the people of each blue. Sanji will find the all blue because the seas are now all together. Luffy will be declared king of the pirates. Nami will be able to create a map of the entire world now that she isn’t constantly being attacked while being on luffy’s crew. Ussop will get to go home and tell everyone in his village all the crazy stories he has because of the same reason nami can go map the world. Zoro will most likely have beaten mihawk and made peace with his sword from his cousin (forgor the name) because of the promise he made to her to become the strongest swordsman and thus gaining black blades (not rly related to the one piece being found but just saying what I think might happen at the end of the anime/manga). Sanji will go back to germa and completely take them out, taking his revenge by beating his siblings (other than his sister) half to death, not fully killing them though to show them something they never showed him which is kindness/mercy. Chopper will finally create the medicine that can heal any sickness or disease which he will most likely find after the seas are united and he can research types of medicine from any sea. Nico robin will finally read all the ponoglyphs (unno if I spelt that right) and learn everything that happened in the void century (and will probably have some cutscene with her remembering the researchers on ohara). Jinbe will help the fishmen get along with humans. Brook will probably just keep being brook.
What if Shanks pulls up to Pirate Island to fight the BB pirates and that’s how Garp survives. After this he returns to save to protect his territory/help the Strawhats when he learns the Gorosei followed them to Elbalf. This could set up them going to get the OP and Shanks either guides them there or has to go with non devil fruit Strawhats to obtain it due to the theory of DF users not being able to reach Laugh Tale(Buggy got sick as they were nearing it). He could also just send the Straw Hats to obtain it while making other preparations for the final war. It would be kind of strange to have him return to so quickly but if the Straw Hats reach the Elbalf then it’s almost certain some sort of conflict happens and only natural for Shanks to return to help.
Option 2: His visit also could have resulted in them giving Shanks their thanks for protecting their land while Dirty , Brogy, Omio, and Kashii. Now they pledge their support to Luffy and Shanks will ignore any happenings in Elbalf and trust Luffy and the Giants will deal with it. Still could result in him going to Pirate Island since we know he’s attempting to track the BB pirates movements and would be a pretty cool way for Garp to get out of his mess. It’s likely Shanks has some level of respect towards Garp since he and Roger fought together at God Valley and likely saved his life there
An observation about poneglyph-translators:
As of chapter 1121, we kinda know which parties are after the one piece; the four emperors, the WG + marines (maybe separately, but as of now they work together), and the revs
6 parties total (counting each emperors crew)
Each one needs a way to translate the poneglyphs. So far, we seemingly have 5 people with the possibility of serving as translators;
Robin, Pudding, Sukiyaki, Lillith and York (last two are unconfirmed but given Stella read the Ohara books its very likely they have the ability)
I think Oda has set this up so each party has a way of translating.
• Luffy has Robin
• Blackbeard has Pudding
• The WG + Marines have York (+Imu ig)
That leaves Lillith and Sukiyaki. Out of the parties left, I think Lillith makes most sense to work with the revs. But then who gets Sukiyaki? Shanks or Buggy?
Personally, idk. This aint meant to be a theory, just neat seeing how closely the numbers match up. Shanks might possibly be able to do some "voice of all things" mumbo jumbo, but then idk how Cross Guild ends up with Sukiyaki (tho ig they would need to go to Wano regardless, so who knows). Point is, I think its very neat how this all unfolds, given how big of a hurdle a lack of a translator seemed to be when all we had were Robin and Pudding
oh ig Momo could also work (voice of all things and all), but thats more a replacement for Sukiyaki (given itd be hard for one crew to get Sukiyaki and another to separately get Momo)
i think they steal the translated poneglyphs
I think this is at the core of Vegapunks speech. I don't think any character is inherently good or evil
However, only Momo and Hiyori know that Sukiyaki is still alive
true, thats why i didnt dig deep into how Sukiyaki would relate to this aside from shallow ground-level speculation
so do Robin and Law and as he said most Akazaya already figured it out as well
this is a sick theory
theory: one of the ancient weapons is stored haki
Ok Guys, I have a theory :
IMU and Joyboy wanted to be king of the world.
They fought each other
Joy boy lost
His country and all his allies were erased
That's why Vegapunk can't tell who's one is a good guy or a bad one
any theories of what stella was trying to broadcast about D when he said “Mo-“
Guys, what if JoyBoy is a version of Luffy that got sent to the past? The conversation between him and Emeth was really sus
