tbh almost every arc I think has some sort of giant relation other than maybe skypia? And east blue? Lil garden is during alabasta, water 7/enis lobby had Oimo and Kashi and robins flash back about Saul and O'Hara , thriller bark introduced orz/oz and hus lore sabody had the straw hats free that one giant from slavery who joins up with the new giant pirates, than in marineford we were really introduced to a bunch of Marines that were giants. I think east blue ,skypia, and impel down are the only arcs with no real giants

Theory: The members of the D clan are the nobility of the Great Kingdom the WG hates

Nefertari D lili probably betrayed her kingdom for some reason, and she regretted it, that’s why she spread the ponegylephs around to take down the WG

It says that 20 kingdoms took down the Great Kingdom, so maybe Lili ruled alabasta as a vassal state and was part of a rebellion

It makes sense why the WG hates them so much, especially imu, who was alive during the void century and went to war with the Great Kingdom

The “Will of D” is maybe their inherent desire to take over the WG and restore justice or revenge or maybe some other reason

Maybe the reason why they all smile before death is because they subconsciously know that they will win against their enemies at the very end. Maybe that is their “inherent will” passed down to their ancestors.

The “New Dawn” is the official collapse of the WG and the celestial dragons being defeated, avenging the Great Kingdom once and for all.

Thats all I can really think of

Have we actually gotten confirmation on when the clones/satellites were made? I think its also possible that the clones could have been in stasis for a time and only brought out more recently. We atleast know that certain clones were released into the world at different times, since stussy was active long before the Seraphim.
I cant really subscribe to this theory based on just this evidence but i think its possible that kid could be a clone/satellite without breaking his current backstory. Iirc his back story only goes back to his early childhood, theres nothing to say he couldn't have somehow escaped from one of vegapunks labs and then made his way to the island he grew up on as a child.

# graceful helm Have we actually gotten confirmation on when the clones/satellites were made? I ...

It’s a good question, I’m not saying it’s impossible but imo it’s hard to corroborate at the moment with what we know right now. Firstly, I think it is reasonable to assume that MADS dissolved sometime between 38-31 years ago (between the God Valley Incident and Weevil’s post-ts age). Also, we saw that by the Ohara incident 22 years ago, Vegapunk was working for the WG. Kid is 23 years old post-ts so he had to have been cloned by MADS/Vegapunk 23 years ago (in the image of someone(s)). I don’t agree with that because I’m assuming the WG didn’t like MADS’ lineage factor research, which I’m assuming is how they were able to successfully clone Stussy (and possibly Weevil). Moreover, in Kuma’s flashback in ch1100, we see how frustrated Vegapunk is that he has so many ideas but not enough hands. To me, that is implying that he hasn’t created a satellite yet nor has he he created Punk Records yet. This is just a few years ago, which again tells me that Kid isn’t a satellite either. For those two reasons, I don’t think Kidd is a clone or a satellite of Vegapunk.

graceful helm
#

I have kinda been thinking of the clones like stussy/seraphims in the same vein as the satellites, but are they even the same kind of beings?

steady prism
#

The Seraphims are mostly clones, but are imo also augmentations to the original person with Lunarian DNA and green blood. It’s not as perfect as Stussy’s cloning

graceful helm
#

Gotcha, the evidence produced in the theory seems to point to kid being a satellite rather than a clone. Given the panel you produced it seems a lot less likely that this would be the case given the language vegapunk is using. Wouldnt make much sense for him to say "if only they were 5 more of me" if he was already in the process of making the satellites.

The theory states that,

There's a ton of similarities between Kidds attacks, appearances with vegapunk/'s creations such as stated

  • Kidd builds high tech, 7 sea monsters and one of them looking like kidd and the "07" on his rail gun, and can't forget the fact that kidds attacks all has "Punk' in them.

So Kidd might actually be related to vegapunk in some way or another, possibly grandson?

Assuming the alabasta poneglyph is about 2x the height of Robin, so 376cm, and if it has the same density as a kinda average rock, it would weight roughly 146 ton.

If the upper density for poneglyph stone is the same as osmium, it would weigh 1200 ton.

However, poneglyphs may differ in size. I don't remember all the occurrences.

What if, the role of each Gorosei minister is not to promote the realization of each of their roles (agriculture, economy, justice, war, science) but to prevent the world to achieve progress and prosperity in those terms? So they can control them better?

brave creek
#

I've been thinking that the gorosei are just 5 old dudes but possessed , those 5 old men we are seeing now were leaders in the ancient kingdom , to each has his domain , science , agriculture etc ... Just like their role now , but at some point the ancient kingdom was defeated and those 5 were captured (they were injured because of the war thats why they have scars) and they became possessed and now work for the wg
I mean to be more clear , a guy like V.nusjuro is a samurai and what land is known with having samurai ? Exactly its wano , and wano was shown to be old allies with the ancient kingdom ? Which can be considered a reason why a wano guy is working with the wg , cuz he was defeated became possessed
Or with a simple plot i bet oda wont do is just make him betray wano

Good evening! I'm new on this server, but I am a big fan of One Piece and I already have a thesis to start with: the reason why the Five Elders cannot be clones of Im in the same way as satellites are with Vegapunk. In the last chapters, we have seen that all the Five Elders master the Conquering King's Ambition: it seems difficult to me that they are born with this power if they are clones, because clones are fundamentally constructed, they are manufactured, they are not born; and even if Oda proves that they are "satellites" of Im in the same way as Shaka, Edison, Atlas etc. are for Vegapunk, I really don't think it is possible to make a person who is born as a cyborg learn or endow Ambition, unlike of those (like Eustass Kidd) who become one because they acquire mechanical prostheses.

New theory: Blackbeard 3d devil fruit

#

His third devil fruit is the Tako Tako no Mi model octopus. Octopuses in fact have very particular bodies and three hearts. Consuming this fruit modified Teach 's body composition and gave him the chance to eat more devil fruits - Dark - Dark fruit and Tremor - Tremor fruit in his case. This theory is supported by a few details of Blackbeard and his crew, like their jolly roger (3 skulls for hearts and devil fruits and eight bones for octopus tentacles), Teach 's beard division into three braids (one for each devil fruit) and the three guns Blackbeard brings with him: one at left, which symbolizes the Tako Tako, who Teach ate before joining Whitebeard crew, and two at right, which symbolize Dark-Dark and Tremor-Tremor, which he ate after joining Whitebeard) .

I just want to point out bb sometimes has more than 3 guns and personally I believe the three skulls represents the three versions of black beard in one piece and the two that teach killed( thatch and white beared are based on real world black beard) but this is very similar to the Cerberus theory's as well but I think Marco would have said his devil fruit enables him to do such and such rather than saying his body is different 🤔

Pappag (Starfish from Sabaody and Fishman Island arcs) probably has crazy Haki. I can't link it but when he explains how he can talk, he mentions "willpower" in some scans, and we all know that that's Haki.
In addition, some devil fruits can be "emulated" with Haki. CoC is kinda like a more extreme version of Foxy's fruit with a bit of stretching definitions, Armament is kinda like Jozu's fruit, and Luffy started using fire attacks after learning Haki, emulating Ace's logia.
There hasn't been an example of Haki "emulating" a Zoan except for Pappag to my knowledge, so it either requires a lot of strength or specialization. Kinda like Idiot Savant syndrome.

I've got a theory on who is actually become the pirate king. It is not Luffy

#

So, You know how the start in one piece says "wealth, fame, power. One man has acquired all these wordly things: Pirate King, Gold Roger."

#

Now focus on the first part "Wealth, Fame, Power." Now guess who has all of these 3 achievements right now. Hint: He is a warlord and associates with 2 very important people

#

yep, you've guessed it: Buggy. But why? Because right now Buggy has wealth to such with associating with our "Croco boy". "Fame" Equivalent to being a warlord of the sea. Power. Do I even have to say anything? "Hawkeye Mihawk"

#

So with these traits he has I think the most possible man to being the Pirate King is "Buggy D. Goat" and also on a different note Buggy used to be on Rogers crew so he has an idea where Laugh Tale might be. Now with these traits, Who do you think is going to be the pirate king?

This is way more headcannon/prediction than a theory, but I think that Nika is a false god. Joyboy made Nika up as a way to either intimidate the 20 kingdoms, give oppressed people hope, or both. Eventually, people started to depend on this "Sun God" so much that they didn't fight for themselves. Joyboy regretted making this false hope, which eventually led to the defeat of the Ancient Kingdom. A Joyboy without much Joy probably can't do all too much.
The fleeting "evidence" I have for this (once again, this is more of a headcannon/prediction) is that Skypiea is all about gods in the One Piece world being something that people shouldn't depend on, and that arc is often cited as foreshadowing Nika.
In addition, things that are too good to be true in One Piece are just that, too good to be true. Sabaody Park had a slave auction, Dressrosa's toys are slaves that were wiped from history, and Ebisu Town is only smiling due to the negative effects of experiments beyond their understanding. A happy-go-lucky liberator that always saves the day is a bit too good to be true.
One last detail, but the World Government, Giants, and Buccaneers refer to the warrior of liberation as Nika, while Joyboy's possible nakama refer to him as Joyboy. Maybe they are the only ones that know the lie that enshackled the world. Either that or the break weeks are gettin' to me.

He can't piss off either Croc or Mihawk too much either. They're not fully loyal like other yonko commanders. And of the Yonko, he's the most reliant of the power of his subordinates. And they're total loners too, very hard to breed loyalty in them

I've got a cool theory I've been sitting on to share re BB based on him being a parallel to Luffy:

The premise:
• Luffy is based on a composite of Hanuman/Sun Wukong
• Joyboy/Sun God Nika is based on a composite of Ramayana/Xuanzang.

Theory:
BB being Luffy's opposite is based on the composite of the mythological characters who opposed the characters that inspired Luffy

• BB is based on a composite of Ravana, King of Lanka/The Bull Demon King
◦ Ravana opposed Ramayama-Hanuman
◦ The Bull Demon King opposed Xuanzang-Sun Wukong.

Exactly like Luffy, BB is based on the composite of 2 characters, but in BB's case he's based on:

• the real BB, the Devil Incarnate
• Henry Every, the King of the Pirates (Oda's old notes show Teech's original name was going to be Everything D. Teech)

Summary

• Luffy is based a Hanuman/Sun Wukong composite;
• Joyboy/Sun God Nika is based on a Ramayana/Xuanzang composite.

• BB is based on composite of their opponents: Ravana/Bull Demon King
• Also a composite of real life pirates: Henry Every, King of the Pirates/Blackbeard, Devil Incarnate

Implications

We know BB had the Yami Yami no Mi and hinted he would get the Gura Gura no Mi, since both fruits linked to BB and the original owners with parts of the original BB's name.

Kaido's flashback revealed that Rock's ship is identical to the Queen Anne's Revenge (the original BB's ship); the third link to BB; we know That trend due to be repeated by BB since the recent flashback suggests at least 2 fruits were stolen from Island Fullalead (Kaido and Kuma's).

BB inspirations provide clues on the DFs he'll likely aim for, and why Oda to link him to certain fruits:

• Uo Uo no Mi; Model Seriyu; why Shanks expected him in Wano; BB might up obtaining this if he goes got Pluton based on Caribou's info

• Nikyu Nikyu no Mi: Like the Uo Uo no Mi, its a God Valley fruit, and there's no indication the BB pirates left Egghead Island; they might be waiting to take advantage of the chaos; Laffitte is also the only BB pirate unaccounted for; should Kuma die, the fruit would pop up... if this arc is meant to replicate elements of Punk Hazard, this could be how the Smilie Part replicates

• Mero Mero no Mi; why BB claimed to always want it; if he obtains either of the aforementioned fruits, or both, he may feel confident enough to go back for the fruit

The inspirations have other implications

In the Ramayana mythology Ravana was part of mortal race called Rakshasas (not to be confused with demigod race Asuras), which ties in well with the reveal that BB's lineage is special. He was also knowledgeable in secret texts which has ponegliph allusions and BB's other knowledge. Ravana also has 10 heads which resonates with BB's jolly roger's multi head design.

Ofc, lineage could be a product of a preexisting fruit. While Saturn acknowledged BB's lineage is special, it definitely isn't special enough to permit consuming more than 1 DF. Otherwise post Marineford War the Gorosei wouldn't have said BB's the only person in history to eat 2 fruits.

The awakenings of those fruits could provide powers similar to the mythological characters, and the reputation of the men BB is based on.

Interestingly, BB is the DF guy and wants to be King of the World, and the composites are known for being Kings or Devils in some way.

(Note: I expect Luffy's fruits and Haki to become strong enough to become strong enough to battle BB, esp when you consider the Gorosei's power and Luffy needs to fight them)

A cool theory I've had in mind for a while that thought I'd share.

# inland cobalt Good theory but can you elaborate on how rocks ship is like the og Blackbeards ?

Ofc, the resemblance is uncanny, not like-for-like, but the design outlines make you pause

The panels of Rocks's ship:
Kaido's flashback from ch. 1049 https://imgur.com/QtPlkeY
Kuma's flashback from ch. 1096 https://imgur.com/AluXsby

But looking into it more, while it doesn't look like-for-like from the outset, it fits perfectly when you go with the real BB-Henry Every composite notion; Xebec's ship being a composite of the real BB's ship, Queen Anne's Revenge and Henry Avery's ship, Fancy:

I've tried to get the same angles of the Queen Anne's revenge as the flashback:

It strengthens the link to OP's BB, and given BB's ship is the sabre of Xebec while Xebec's ship is an amalgamation of the one used by composite figures inspiring OP's BB... maybe its a hint on why BB's lineage is special, and why Oda drew attention to why the name of BB's ship in the Road to Laughtale releases

Possibly the gorosei and Imu, no one else except for them.
What if Zunesha's crime has something to do with him siding with IMU or rather betraying joy boy or the ancient kingdom to gain immortality?
This betryal could be temporary like squard stabbing Whitebeard in marineford due to Akainu gaslighting him. Like Squard Zunesha could have betryaed joyboy or the ancient kingdom, and then realised his mistake or whatever and sided with joyboy again.

The smoke clouds of the awakened zoan user actually represents the "universe" that creature takes it's power from.
all the gorosei and the leopard for example have black smoke scarfs, they are from "evil universe" while luffy and yamato have white ones. representing the "good universe", each drawing its powers from there.

This isn't anything solid, just came to my mind that the gorosei and using powers and elements from the underworld, could it mean that luffy too can conjure things from "cartoon joyboy world" or something like that.
It seems unlikely that joyboy would use the underworld as a power source, but a different universe or world.
Therefor the smoke clouds could possibly represent which universe the powers are coming from or the demon or soul within the fruit is on the side of or something

We have not seen any Gorosei or Imu try to swim or anything but I would assume they lose energy as normal devil fruit users do until something else is shown. Kairoseki is something that hasn't really been explained well and I think there is something more deeper to it than just being the "energy of the sea". I think that when we get to see more of Shanks and his crew the true power of Kairoseki will be utilized as I think Shanks has mastered the way to fight devil fruit users.

Lineage Factor and Devil Fruits’ Awakening & Potential

TLDR: Devil Fruit Awakenings (& their potential) are determined by lineage factor and/or the users’ dreams.

An idea that's been circulating in the "One Piece" community is that Devil Fruits choose their users. My theory posits that this selection process might be influenced by the lineage factor and the user's dreams or will.

Dreams/Wills and Devil Fruits as Living Entities
In "One Piece," dreams and wills are often portrayed as tangible, enduring forces. Characters with the "D" in their names, for example, are associated with significant destinies and indomitable wills. Similarly, the quest for the One Piece is driven by Gol D. Roger's dream and final will.

Vegapunk has theorized that Devil Fruits could be manifestations of dreams, and there are instances where they're described as possessing their own wills. For instance, the Gorosei discussed how the Nika fruit seemingly evades capture, implying some level of sentience or intent.

This notion suggests that Devil Fruits might possess the capacity to "choose" their users. Luffy's accidental conception and mastery of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, which aligns remarkably well with his personality and ambitions, exemplifies a possible destiny-driven match between a Devil Fruit and its user.

Moreover, many characters in "One Piece" utilize their Devil Fruit powers in unique ways that perfectly complement their personalities, ambitions, or combat styles, such as Doflamingo's use of the Ito Ito no Mi or Katakuri's Mochi Mochi no Mi, hinting at a selective process by the fruits based on the users' innate traits or destinies.

#

#

Lineage Factor & Devil Fruits Awakening
The connection between the lineage factor and Devil Fruits is fundamental to Vegapunk's research, leading to breakthroughs like Green Blood, SAD, SMILE fruits, and Seraphims. Blackbeard's ability to wield two Devil Fruits may also be tied to his unique lineage factor, suggesting a deeper interplay between these elements.

Devil Fruit awakenings are rare phenomena where users unlock profound potentials of their powers. Shaka noted that awakened Zoan abilities can overpower the user's mind, while Kaido described awakenings as the user's mind and body fully harnessing their Devil Fruit's capabilities.

Recent developments, such as Bonney's powers, underscore this concept.

If Devil Fruits are indeed dream manifestations, a user's dream alignment with the fruit's inherent will might be crucial for awakening. The idea of inherited will, coupled with lineage factors, suggests that the potential for awakenings could be influenced by ancestral connections, further implying a selective process in how Devil Fruits "choose" their users.

Before I start with this I strongly belive Luffy will destroy the Red Line and make all the seas into one completing the prophecy.

Jinbei will go on to help the Fishman adjust to living under the sun.
Brook will go on another world tour
Franky will help Robin rebuild Ohara and then return to Water 7 to build ships
Robin will rebuild Ohara
Chopper will go to Ohara and build a hospital there to be with Robin.
Sanji will open up a restaurant on the All Blue with Zeff
Usopp will have either died and gone down as a great warrior of the sea. If he doesn’t he will marry Kaya at Syrup Village and move to Elbaf to join their forces
Nami will sail around the world charting maps.
Zoro will live in Wano and mentor others in the 3 sword style
And finally Luffy will go around the world and help people if he here’s of a place where people are in danger he rushes to help.

The Power of Love

When Sanji kicked away Kizaru's light attack it really confused me as to what that actually was. At first I thought it could have been Vegapunk's boots that could interact with light, but the more I thought about it has to do with Sanji's spirit and lifeforce itself.

From Sanji's backstory with the Germa 66 we saw Sanji's mother Sora trying to resist Judge Vinsmoke in modifying by taking a drug to counteract it but it only affected Sanji in exchange for her own life force. What I think actually happened is that Sora's will and life force was passed on to Sanji and her true wish was for Sanji to be kind and to protect him from any harm. It is Sanji's mother Sora's will that gave Sanji the power to deflect any attack.

Ever since Ace died, Luffy's attacks seems to have an added fire effect added to them. The reason for this is that Ace's spirit and will in his dying moment was to protect Luffy and by doing that, Ace's lifeforce which is infused with the Mera Mera no mi was passed on to Luffy in an act of Love.

The act of caring and loving for something goes beyond people, it can have to same effect on items such as Swords and Ships. When you show love towards a ship it can over time create it's own soul, the Klaubauterman, and the reason is that the people that care for that ship impart some of their own spirit, souls and life force to protect and love it.

One important factor seems to be that there must happen a near death experience between the two souls in combination with love in order for souls to get passed onto one other, the same way a near death experience is required to awaken devil fruits.

The Power of Love in essence is that when you care for someone or something so much that you are willing to sacrifice yourself to protect that which you love, some of your own will and wishes can get passed on through your own spirit and life force directly into that person, changing them and giving them actual powers.

# night crag The Power of Love When Sanji kicked away Kizaru's light attack it really confus...

This has been implied many times in the One Piece universe, emotions have a tangible impact on a person's strength and abilities. Love, being one of the most potent and pure emotions, could act as a catalyst to enhance a character's attacks.

In One Piece, willpower plays a crucial role in battles. Love could serve as a source of unwavering determination and willpower, allowing characters to push beyond their limits and unleash attacks with unmatched strength and precision.

Characters in One Piece often have strong protective instincts towards their loved ones. When their loved ones are in danger, this instinct could trigger a surge of power, enabling them to launch attacks with unparalleled force to ensure the safety of those they hold dear.

Love is a positive and empowering emotion. When a character fights with love in their heart, the positive energy it generates could act as a shield against negative influences, allowing them to focus solely on their attacks and overcome obstacles with sheer determination. The same can be said for the reverse, some perfect examples of this is Kizaru in egghead and garp vs luffy, if they are forced to attack those they love, they lose conviction and become much weaker

What if the man with the burn scar is a fishman?
The burn scar could relate to a member of the Sun Pirates, with their Sun Burned over the Celetial stamp.
I do not believe it is Saul mainly because of the timeline aswell as the Man is said to be actively sailing the Black Ghost Ship. Relating to the timeline Ohara is before the disappearance of the Road Poneglyph of Fishman island. Even though it has never been mentioned, Roger visited FMI beforehand and the road poneglyph was there and I believe it's a good assumption that after someone visited somewhere and revealed to the locals what it really said that maybe of their own (Fishman) would take or safekeep the road poneglyph.

About the whirlpools created behind the ship. This kinda reminds me of The Black Pearl but disregarding that, I believe the fishman can create the whirlpools behind the black ship Lafite talks about.
The Fishman have great speed in the water, in such I believe they are capable of doing so.

TLDR of previous post, to awaken you need the same mentality as whoever wished for the fruit + to have died. I’ll do some research on all of the others later, but just wanted to put this out here for now. If you wanna read the whole theory, it’s above, and I would LOVE to hear feedback on it! Thanks

My crazy crack pot theory is that Dragon is Rocks D. Xebec and Luffy's mom is Gloriosa. And I will probably die on this hill until Oda slaps me with reality.
Too much lines up, and all you have to accept is that at 11 Dragon was a pretty scary dude. At 11 he formed a pirate crew. This is supported by his current day 'embodiment' as the community likes to point out in Blackbeard, who also set out to be a pirate at 11, and joined under a former Rocks crewmember. Gloriosa is seen at GV, with some ambiguous phrasing to leave open possibility it wasn't whitebeard she was in love with, and could possibly have been Rocks. Which is supported with why Gloriosa wasn't all Boa over whitebeard's death. As for Dragon and Gloriosa's age difference, uh Boa and Luffy is the parallel, so 12 years? Seems well within Oda's wheel house.

This can also be supported by the theory that Rocks D. Xebec was a fake name seeing as it could also be read as Rocks The Boat. It also gives a very interesting twist to Dragon's Vivre card which talks about a secret and if the revolutionarys would still respect him if they knew. Also, think about Garp's reaction to Rocks heading to GV, seemed pretty nonchalant, like if he heard Luffy was headed somewhere.

As for why no one recognized him, I imagine its a couple of things. One is that GV didn't exist anymore nor did Rocks as declared by the world government and to go against it would be tantamount to questioning a god. The other is his crew was a band of misfits, even if they knew he was alive, would they care? The only way they would see him is in wanted posters, which would have shown up with a much older and face tattooed version of a guy they briefly teamed up with 40 years ago. This isn't unreasonable.

Why didn't gloriosa recognize Luffy as her kid then? She couldn't take him to Amazon Lily, she had just busted boa and the girls out of the slave camp with Fisher Tiger, and couldn't be around her kid for the same reason Dragon didn't. Remember Amazon Lily was at odds with the WG until the warlord system was introduced, so she was a criminal by former association, plus a former member of Rocks' crew. Why wouldn't she recognize his name then? Did Ivankov when they met Luffy? I imagine post Marineford she knows, but they haven't exactly had a time to catch up nor is that family any definition of normal.

And finally, Kuma sent Luffy to Amazon Lily. We now know Kuma knew Dragon had a kid. unless the man is completely numpty, probably wasn't hard to figure out who a mother was based on who Dragon associated with while they were in the Rev army together. The common theory is just that Luffy was sent there to learn Haki, but Oda loves to add twists and retcons to what we commonly accepted in the past. This fits. Also, if it was just to learn Haki, why not send him to Dragon? He sent Robin there, so its not like it was some other limitation.

So that's it. Dragon is Rocks and banged Elder Nyon.

# junior oar My crazy crack pot theory is that Dragon is Rocks D. Xebec and Luffy's mom is Gl...

Dragon has already hinted that he was in the Marines before creating the Freedom Fighters and the Revolutionary Army (RA) in ch1097. Also, Garp did not mention Dragon became a pirate but did mention Luffy became a pirate (ch1087), which again indicates to me that Dragon’s past does not involve being a member of Rock’s pirate crew. Working for the Marines is probably Dragon’s mysterious past. So I really don’t understand, what evidence you have to prove that he’s lived as a pirate?

junior oar
# steady prism Dragon has already hinted that he was in the Marines before creating the Freedom...

Doesn't exclude him from the theory. Rocks died at GV, not Dragon. Oda is big on separating the idea of killing someone's dreams and killing someone outright. He doesn't like to kill without a purpose as he put it. In 1087 when he is yelling that at Kuzan, he is referring to something that JUST happened, and his statement is just my son became a revolutionary and his grandson saying hes going to be a pirate. That doesn't exclude it one way or the other because both are true at that time.

Also the 1097 reference is also the proof that its not the secret. He is telling that to Kuma and Ivankov like its no big deal. The evidence is just how it fits narratively, plus what I stated above. We don't know anything about Dragon's youth other than he at some point was with the Marines. Notably he never actually says he was in the marines, just with them, which could also just mean he was a kid around his dad on base. So thats not solid evidence either of anything. Now what we do now is that every showing of Xebec LOOKS like an angry Dragon. The depiction is always of a short person. ALSO Dragon knows about the Holy Knights, who were also at GV and fought the Rocks Pirates. Its all classic Oda foreshadowing, or did you forget all the Nika hints before the reveal?

More importantly, you still haven’t given me anything concrete that confirms Dragon decided to become a pirate at 11 years old.

# steady prism Garp screaming about his frustrations with his son and grandson are pivotal mome...

Or you know it could be beccause Oda isn't revealing everything all at once? Why would he? Thats as good as revealing Dragon is Rocks then and there. The present day RA members? Who know about the slavery and everything else? They would abhor something Dragon SAW? seriously? Make that make sense please.

Thats because there isn't anything to show that. Just as there isn't anything to show Rocks. Again, you are asking for things that would be tantamount to Oda revealing his hand. Why would an author do that before he is ready for the reveal?

steady prism
#

Given the breadcrumbs Oda has left us thus far, I view Dragon’s journey as Marine -> Freedom Fighter -> Revolutionary Army. The officials clearly have Dragon saying “I spent some time in the navy”. Yes, we haven’t seen Rocks’ face or grave, but to me there are many characters in One Piece that have similar face shapes. Anyway just to close things up, the evidence you’re sharing to me is not compelling to me because we’d have to agree that Dragon looked scary at 11 years old (so the silhouette matches) and formed a pirate crew 44 years ago at Hachinosu under a pseudonym (which became the Rocks pirates). Given the little we know about Rocks and what we know about Dragon, I don’t feel like that’s concrete enough to jump off from to the rest of your theory because there are too many assumptions involved for it to be plausible for me personally. We’ll just have to agree to disagree

This theory is just something that popped into my head about Mihawks backstory, it's just a vague idea .

Many believe Mihawk was a celestial dragon or affiliated with them due to his use of terms like "rabbits" and "insects". However, I believe he was born to pirates who trained him in swordsmanship from an early age.

Now this is where the story gets a little random, but then we find out at a young age, Mihawk was friends with a person around his age, who was an undercover marine, they have been friends for a while and Mihawk never knew he was a marine.

Mihawk's parents were pirates, and the World Government wanted to catch them. So, Mihawk's friend informed the government about him, and they attacked his village, captured the children, and planned to train them as future marines.

Mihawk's hatred for the Marines began early, but it didn't drive him to hunt them yet. During Navy training, his exceptional talent caught St. Garling's attention. He took Mihawk under his wing and trained him to become a holy knight.

Sidetrack from the story, but Mihawk being a holy knight makes a lot of sense, as he lives in a castle, even though he doesn't need much space, both his swords are shaped like crosses and he uses terms like the celestial dragons.

Garling taught Mihawk to destroy everything and exterminate every single insect and rabbit in his path, but due to his hate for the Marines at this point, he never listened and always tried to oppose them causing him to learn the breath of all things.

As punishment, Garling imprisoned Mihawk. It was then revealed that his friend, an undercover navy agent as a child, had plotted against him and led the navy to his village.

This is when his hatred begun, as he was backstabbed, causing him to break out of jail and hunt marines down

Let me give my take on the "Eleventh Straw Hat" theory and who I think would be likely candidates:

  • First off, throw away any ideas that a new member would have to be useful in battle or have a significant contribution to the crew. Remember that Luffy was willing to bring Gaimon along with him despite being pretty much unable to do anything because he was stuck in a box. Luffy doesn't often look for strength in his potential crew members. His main reason for recruiting Chopper was just that he thought a talking reindeer was really cool and he asked Brook to join his crew the second he met him, before he even learned he was a musician. Luffy tends to value people who can either fulfill specific roles he cannot (e.g. Nami, Sanji), people whose nature he considers cool (e.g. Chopper, Brook), or people whose character he respects (e.g. Usopp, Robin, Jimbei). This is something we should keep in mind.
  • Second of all, every member of the current Straw Hat crew has had a backstory shown which tends to feature them losing something or someone very important to them, usually placing them in a state they are not happy with by the time they meet the Straw Hats. This is why I think Carrot likely has no hope of returning to join. We never really learned too much about her when we met her and she didn't really have any personal connection to the arcs she was involved in. She seemed happy living with the minks and just as happy leading them.
#
  • Third of all, and this one I believe is the most important. Every member of the Straw Hat crew had either given up on their dreams and resigned themselves to an unsatisfied life, or were stuck in a position where they felt they were unable to anymore (Such as in Nami, Robin, and Brook's case). When they met Luffy their worlds were shattered by his endlessly determined influence and a spark within them was reinvigorated, giving them a newfound drive to chase their dreams and join his crew to do so. This is why I think that despite how much I love him, Yamato joining the crew was unlikely. When Luffy met Yamato, he was already super confident in his ability to follow his dreams. Luffy certainly inspired him, but he was already proudly letting people know that he idolized Oden and wished to follow in his footsteps without Luffy's influence. Yes it could definitely be argued that he was stuck in a position which hindered him from accomplishing this, but even if Kaido was much stronger than him, he seemed to have no problems with defying his father to chase his dreams.
  • With these three points in mind, and considering how close to the end of the series we are, I feel like if anybody else joins at this point, it should probably be someone we have already been introduced to because otherwise I'm not sure we have enough time to establish a new character plus their backstory plus their connection to the Straw Hats.
#
  • Vivi is the one most people are rooting for and considering the criteria I set, I think she's the most likely. Not only is she already an honorary member of the Straw Hats, but she checks off a lot of the boxes. When she met the Straw Hats she was on the verge of losing her country to Crocodile and was fighting an uphill battle which would have failed without the Straw Hats' involvement. She was determined to shoulder the burden of taking down Baroque Works by herself and the Straw Hats taught her camaraderie and the ability to put her trust in others. The only reason she refused to come along with them at the end of Alabasta was because her bond was the people of her country. She had no big goal that was driving her out to sea, because Alabasta was what she cared about more than anything else. However, the reveal of Imu's grudge against the Nefertari family and the recent death of Cobra means it's looking increasingly likely that Imu might try to destroy Alabasta with the Mother Flame. This would likely give Vivi the drive to take down the World Government, and the motivation to join up with the Straw Hats in order to do so. As it stands now, Vivi looks like the most likely candidate to me, although I do have a few alternative suggestions I have considered.
#
  • Bonney joining the Straw Hats wouldn't surprise me too much but I'm also not so sure. She has lost so much in her backstory, and has both a grudge against the world government, and Luffy's influence in her life filled her with hope. The main reason I'm not really sure if she'll end up joining is just that... she's a kid at the end of the day. I don't mean she's too young to adventure of course since she wouldn't have been considered a supernova if she wasn't skilled. What I mean is that she was really only interested in saving her father, and that has been her entire motivation for becoming a pirate and getting as far as she's gone. I don't think she really wants to fight, or to find the One Piece or anything like that, I think everything she did was just as a means to save Kuma. Now that Kuma is pretty much dead, I don't think she has too much interest in continuing as a pirate. I think she just wants to give Kuma a respectful burial and go on living her life. I also don't think she's up for fighting the world government considering it means having to face the Pacifistas. I might be wrong however and I don't think her joining the crew is too unlikely considering the circumstances.
#
  • Assuming he survives, Law might also be an option considering he has similarly experienced loss and has been influenced by Luffy, but I think this one is the least likely for a bunch of reasons. First off, his niche as a doctor is already filled on the crew with Chopper, so Luffy probably isn't considering him. Second of all, he already has his own crew that he is very close with so the only scenario I could really see him joining the Straw Hats is if all of his other crew members die in the Blackbeard fight. I think he's a lot less likely than the other candidates but I don't think the Heart Pirates joining the Grand Fleet is too out of the question.

adding onto this, to all the peeps thinking we won't get one more crewmate: Oda has already numbered crewmates with them joining the crew in Chapter Titles. Below is a list containing strawhats, followed by the chapter number and then the title of said chapter. Note that Chopper, Robin, and Jimbei haven't been numbered in titles iirc, but is obvious that they are Fifth, Sixth, and Ninth respectively. The titles are usually paired when the crew obtains a new strawhat, which is why Usopp and Franky share one since they join the crew together in the same chapter:

Zoro: Chapter 6 - The First
Nami: Chapter 94 - The Second
Usopp: Chapter 439 - The Third and Seventh
Sanji: Chapter 68 - The Fourth
Chopper:
Robin:
Franky: Chapter 439 - The Third and Seventh
Brook: Chapter 489 - The Eighth
Jimbei:

this is also a confirm that Luffy is excluded from this group of "ten men".

unborn fable
# versed gyro Great write up, wondering if Bonney (or maybe even Vivi) would take on the nikyu...

I actually would consider Vivi's niche on the crew to be diplomacy. Usopp kind of already covers the lookout since he has the sharpest eyes and is the sniper, plus with Observation Haki the role of a lookout is kind of redundant, but one of Vivi's strongest traits she displayed in the Alabasta Saga was her ability to diffuse situations. She convinced Luffy to not attack the citizens of Drum Island when they shot at them, and I believe that even if they stopped Crocodile, there was very little chance the Straw Hats could have stopped the revolutionary army without Vivi. This seems like a very useful skill to have on their crew going into the Final War. Not to say that the WG is going to be talked down or anything, more so what I mean is that a team diplomat would be very useful in convincing powerful groups to join forces against the WG. Luffy does have a knack for getting people to follow them but to try and unite so many powerful groups with their own agendas against an organization the entire world fears, Luffy just can't understand the ins and outs of negotiation beyond just "join me because I want you to". That's what I think Vivi's role would be.

I have also entertained the possibility of only one Vegapunk surviving Egghead and joining the crew but I think it would be unlikely considering we were only just introduced to them this arc and none of the Vegapunks minus York have really seen any extra focus over the others to set up something like that.

This resulted of Buggy being pissed and rips and tears the copies in front of everyone; resluting in Croco and Hawkeye beating up Buggy again. Shanks then decided to bring Buggy and cross guild to Elbaf where Luffy will be going to.

That way, all three emperors will face eachother in a davy back fight over all the copies of the poneyglypths.

Okay here me out, I know a lot of people say that Imu will have an Umibozu Devil Fruit but I’d like to think that he will have a literal ‘Devil’ Zoan Devil Fruit.

Back in the beginning of One Piece, there has been theories, speculation and even jokes going on whether there’s gonna be like a ‘Devil’ Devil Fruit and many years later, in Chapter 1085, we saw an shadow of an arrow shaped tail stabbing Cobra. None of the Gorosei are in their transformed Yokai forms yet so that means the tail belongs to Imu. The recent chapters also reveals that none of the Gorosei has that arrow shaped tail behind their back, Warcury’s tail is shown and it’s on fire which confirms that the arrow tail belongs to Imu.

The shadowy figure that looms over the throne room from above looks more human like but has some sort of “protrusions” out of his elbows, people thought they might be dragonic wings but I’d like to think those are the flaming spiral wisp that’s been featured on Awakened Zoans and they’re on the elbows of Imu’s Devil Zoan form. I also believe that Imu’s Zoan form might be the most scariest but also the most disturbing but creepiest Zoan form to ever exist in One Piece simply because he’s the ‘Devil of the World’ and he might also have sharp teeth (on the panel of Chapter 1085, he tanked Sabo’s fire attack like it was nothing and his shadowy figure is shown to have teeth), he will likely have a huge horns on his head, with huge evil smile with sharp teeth and a pointy nose on his face.

It’s also would be fitting for Luffy to face off against Imu, a Sun God vs an Earth Devil, now I’m not coming to a conclusion that Imu would be the final villain but it would be crazy to have the King of Pirates vs the King of the World and to have Imu shouting out loud saying ‘I’m the ruler of this world, who in the world do you think you are?!’ with Luffy answering by saying out his iconic catchphrase, however it will be different because he’s already the King of Pirates and he will say ‘Me? I’m Monkey D. Luffy and I am the King of the Pirates!’ Can you imagine the chills and the goosebumps when he actually say that in front of Imu? It will also be a full circle as well that his journey from the beginning has lead to this moment.

I also believe that once Imu is officially revealed himself out of the shadows and full appearance and all, we will finally get to see his actual personality and likely his laugh which I believe would be ‘MU HAHAHA’ which is a typical villainous laugh that’s been used in cartoons over many years but also fitting for Imu because the Mu in his laugh means nothing. It might end up as one of the best laugh alongside Doffy’s

I’ve always thought Luffy’s gears were a physical change in his body. For example in his base form, Luffy’s skin is rubbery as shown in his basic attacks and his notable ability of bouncing back bullets. His bones and muscles are still rubber but not as malleable as his skin.

Gear 2 he physically expands his blood vessels to get more blood surging through him, making him move faster and enhancing his power.

Gear 3 is when he directly targets his bones, making them more malleable by expanding them. It’s literally called bone balloon.

Gear 4 in my opinion is the expansion of his muscles as well as coating them with haki.

And my theory for gear 5 is Luffy directly targeting his heart to be more rubbery. His heartbeat is mentioned multiple times in transformations. Laughing also increases heart rate and the rapid drums of liberation coincides with his beating heart.

Another quick theory. I want to expand on Vegapunk's hypothesis. What if he said is true. DF came to be because it was desired. Who's who said slaves would pray to Nika in the long distant past who they believed one day would free them and that's how the Nika fruit came into existence. Hence why the WG had erased the name from the historical record (Nami and others didn't know who Nika was), and even went so far to giving it a new name, but they were unsuccessful on doing so because the legend has been passed down thus the fruit kept circulating around. This is the reason why we may not see Toki's fruit or other fruits to circulate around.

Like a lot of other people, I think that Kuzan will betray Blackbeard but I hadn't really thought of how until just now: I think Blackbeard will eventually get Pluton now that he has Caribou and Kuzan will disable it during the final war as the metaphorical iceberg that takes down the titanic (Pluton). If Pluton is as mighty as it is, it's going to need someone strong to take it down and I think Oda will use this as Kuzan's moment to betray Blackbeard

Remaining big mom pirates might join straw hat fleet, now this might seem unreasonable theory but next likely leader of the remaining big mom pirates is Katakuri, now there are 2 reasons why he would use the straw hat flag, 1 - he respects luffy and what he did, freeing him and his siblings from big mom, 2 - for protection, flying a yonko flag is ultimate protection he can use to protect his siblings which is his number 1 priority or maybe something as bizarre as strawhats help pudding return and then katakuri joins their fleet

I mean I do know why, his fleet is filled with weak pirates who are Shanks friends, he has a big philosophy towards protecting his friends no matter what because thats one of the biggest treasures he has, and you know, Luffy and Shanks are friends soooo...

Maybe a clash between them could happen but nothing like "uhh I'm a bad guy now I'm going to kill you because the One Piece has to be mine muahahahaha", pretty sure Shanks will get defeated by Blackbeard or he will have something to do against the Gorosei instead of having Luffy of all people as his enemy

But anyways, btw

I have the theory that Buggy D Clown will get to be pirate king for a few minutes before he gets the Garu treatment

(For the ones who don't know what the "Gary treatment" is, it refers to what happens in Pokémon Red, Blue (and Yellow if I'm not wrong) with Gary Oak, he gets to be the Champion of Kanto and straight up loses the title against the player lmao)

I think I've found one of the mythological reference for Sanji.

Manannán mac Lir

A connection to spirals, lugh the celtic sun god and apparently moved like a wheel turning on his three legs.
They were a leader of Tuatha Dé Danann too.

#

Which could that mean that laugh tale is in The celtic Otherworld

'Otherworld is usually elusive, but various mythical heroes visit it either through chance or after being invited by one of its residents. They often reach it by entering ancient burial mounds or caves, or by going under water or across the western sea. Sometimes, they suddenly find themselves in the Otherworld with the appearance of a magic mist, supernatural beings or unusual animals.'

Maybe a whale leads them underwater into the otherworld where the one piece is

#

Which could also be why the gorosei can't go. not that they don't know where laugh tale is, but more can't access it because they are from Tech Duinn the other realm of the dead.

rustic echo
#

Devil Fruits, and the entire world, are powered ontologically by belief, and that's what is on Laugh Tale and what the World Government fears so much and why Roger's crew laughed at it. They found out that if you have enough belief in something, it will manifest in the world. The Five Elders know that by keeping the Celestial Dragons in place and having things like the Seven Warlords in place, they can instill fear into the general populace and a wide belief that they are the strongest and there is no point in fully resisting or rising up against them. They fear that people believing in themselves is what will end their rule and instead of creating strong bonds, create fear and terror. Which is why Roger's crew laughed, because they had become so powerful through friendship, with no intent of cruelty.

Devil Fruits also work this way. Luffy isn't actually rubber but he thinks he is, which is why lightning doesn't work on him. Kaido and Katakuri both saw Luffy ignite himself with Red Hawk attacks and both believed they were at least as strong as Luffy hence why Katakuri was also able to effectively copy the attack and why Kaido was able to create a massive dragon flame around him, where elements are usually tied to Logia. And it's why Luffy is becoming strong at an absolutely absurd rate, the legend of Joyboy and the intensely deep belief in Luffy that everyone he comes across touts are literally making him stronger. And it's why Luffy's powers seem to go beyond the normal categories of paramecia and zoan and arguably a little of logia. People don't hear the actual truth of what Luffy can do because of world government propaganda so the beliefs of random people attributing his powers to various kinds, lets him break those limitations. And that's why Kaido thinks Haki rules above any devil fruit, because Haki doesn't need belief, just constant training.

# steady prism Could you summarize what his theory’s about and what kind of evidence he’s using...

i used chat gpt because it was a lot but here is the general idea
The theory proposes that the world of One Piece draws inspiration from Norse mythology, particularly evident in the concept of the Eve tree, which resembles the Norse world tree, Yggdrasil. Just as Yggdrasil connects the nine realms of Norse cosmos, the Eve tree connects Fish-Man Island to the surface world and serves as the source of Devil Fruits, imbued with supernatural powers. The summit of the Red Line, where the Eve tree is believed to be located, is akin to the celestial realm in Norse mythology, where gods reside, explaining why the Celestial Dragons and Lunarians established their kingdoms there.

Moreover, the theory suggests that the destruction of the Red Line, facilitated by the ancient weapons Poseidon, Pluton, and Uranus, mirrors the myth of Ragnarok, the Nordic apocalypse. This cataclysmic event in both scenarios marks the transition to a new era.

#

back in little garden when dorry and broggy did the combined attack they said "only the great serpent soaked in blood can withstand our attack" ie:Jörmungandr the giant red snake that circles the world biting its own tail in nordic mythos OR the red line

#

and in the mythos when Jörmungandr stops bitting its own tail(or breaks) ragnarok happens where all the gods die and the age of man rises

#

the video is a lot better and more indepth then i could explain it

#

this might also be a stretch too but Thor is the one who defeats Jörmungandr someone who weilds lighting luffy a god who weilded lighting and defeated a giant serpent(kaido)

There’s no evidence of this, in fact there may be counter evidence. Now that’s not saying it’s not possible that DFs can also spoil but it just takes years or something, but nothing we know suggests that. Seems unlikely that someone could steal a whole poneglyph without anyone at least seeing what he looks like. More so we know that fishman island is supposed to be destroyed soon because of sharly's prediction and we also know that BB will likely know that shirahoshi is an ancient weapon soon. Speaking of whirlpools, there’s a theory that the one that nearly killed Luffy in chapter one was created by Imu. An Umibozu, or sea-priest, is a creature from Japanese folklore that turns calm waters into chaotic waters whenever they arrive. The only way to thwart one is to offer up a bottomless barrel and escape while it is confused. Chapter one has Luffy sailing calm waters when suddenly a whirlpool appears, and he survives by climbing inside a barrel. Umi backwards is Imu, so perhaps there’s a connection

last estuary
gusty bone
# last estuary Good theory but why would Imu do that

Luffy is a devil fruit user, claiming to be the future king of the pirates. Perhaps the sea took that personally, and Umi literally means sea in Japanese, so Imu might actually be the sea itself in human form. Or Imu has an Imibozu devil fruit power, and can summon them at will? Images of Umibozu depict them as large black figures with big eyes, vaguely resembling both Imu and the giant sea monster people from Thriller Bark.
And I haven’t read anything about this part but it could also help explain why Imu is in charge of the five elders; they could be Umibozu in some way. Their beast forms all appear to be solid black, and massive

Guys I've been watching some Black beard theories and clips on youtube and it came across to me that no one seems to suggest the one thing I have personally theorized about the Dark dark fruit.

We've been told that devil fruits have their own wills, and that the Nika one even "evaded" the WG from acquiring it.

I also always wondered why did Teach not just ask thatch for the fruit considering he seemed to be a good guy and its quite possible teach would have gotten the fruit by some effort.

But after blackbeard told that his fruit is the most "evil" one and that he deeply researched it before acquiring it... I got a theory that the Fruit itself maybe requires murder as a thing to be done for anyone willing to truly acquire it. Maybe the moment teach saw the fruit he knew that it was his fate to murder rather than ask for the fruit

This is a very crack/break week theory, but I think that the Sunny will fly. Not flying like Coup De Burst, but flying as if it were sailing in the air. One Piece is structured like a JRPG, with enemies getting stronger as the hero progresses, Luffy gaining more party members/crewmates, and those crewmates fitting different roles (ex. Zoro is the low magic, high damage guy, Nami is a mage, Chopper is a cleric, etc)
In Dragon Quest, the grandpappy of JRPGs, players usually get something to fly across the whole world near the end of the game. This is usually something supernatural, such as ||Zenithia in DQV and the Godbird's Soulstone in DQVIII. Sometimes, however, like in DQIV, the player uses something normal to fly, like a hot air balloon|| The Straw Hats will probably need some other form of transport to get to Mary Geoise, much like how at the end of many DQ games you gotta fly to the final dungeon. Either Uranus is going to be used to upgrade the Sunny, or the Vegapunks that flee to Elbaf will help Franky upgrade the Sunny. Either way, seeing the Sunny fly to Mary Geoise will be hype.

I think the lore of Long Ring Long Land is crazily overlooked. We learn that the sea levels submerge the lower parts of the island, leaving the higher parts above the waves. The strawhats then go to Water Seven where Aqua Laguna, a giant wave, that keeps increasing in size each year. The waves are so strong the residents of the city have to temporarily evacuate and the only way to travel the seas is on the sea train. Then we get to Enies Lobby where there's a giant hole in the ocean with perfect, sunny weather. This is one-to-one with what happened to Lulusia. Imu nuked the island, leaving nothing but a giant hole. The rest of the world suffers earthquakes, crazy waves, and tsunamis. The beaches of Moroiro were submerged because of the water levels. The main conflict of One Piece will come from Imu nuking island after island as information about the truth of the world spreads beyond what he can control. This is make the water levels raise significantly until the entire world is submerged. Enies Lobby is sunny because its the eye of the storm. We can speculate that its where God Valley used to be before the world government nuked it with Uranus. Its a bit of a stretch, but this might be why there was a giant boat in Fishman Island. Joyboy tried to save everyone from the flooding with an arc, just like Noah from the Bible.

Noah thing is more than a stretch, since you can't fit everyone in the world in that ship. But I agree that LRLL has an overlooked Lore and that at some point it will be explained why Enies Lobby has a giant hole on it. I also hope it gets explained where that water flows and why the sea-level doesn't decrease if water keeps flowing inside a hole in the ocean without ever filling it, I believe that somehow that waters goes back to the ocean somehow, and that Enies Lobby is there to prevent adventurers to try exploring the giant hole somehow.
Who knows, maybe at some point they will say that the knock-up stream used to reach the Skyisland of Skypiea is the after effect of the water flowing inside the hole of enies lobby, and that in the world there are a lot of knock-up stream that happens becuase of the water flowing in that hole and that's what causes the Agua laguna on water seven. A lot of available options tbh

There was a theory linked here previously that there is an underworld in one piece below the sea. That these holes flow into that world, and that ships like Noah may have been what was used to bring those people to the surface. That may be where the d's (called devils but are not necessarily devils) come from, and could potentially play into Blackbeard being basically Cerberus and other stuff. I believe they also used that because there are 4 road poneglyphs that it means that Height or Depth will be involved in the coordinates of the One piece and that it could mean that raftel is in the sky or below the sea. If there was not an issue of depth/height then you would only need 3 stones to navigate on a fairly flat ocean.

Good point. I completely forgot to factor location into it. I think this further cements the flooding theory, since it shows that Imu/World Government have done this before and they have no qualms doing it again. Vegapunk's research leading to the possible end of the world plays into his stance as the Einstein/Oppenheimer of the series. His goal is pure but his actions lend themselves to evil. His "ends justify the means" (working with the world government for the sake of funding) approach and his naivety (believing the pacifistas would be used to help people) led to his downfall and possibly the downfall of the entire world.

Daks Sake lafrotale video does a great job with some long ring long land (LRLL) lore. But one thing he pointed out that I hadn’t seen pointed out here yet was that the one piece could be in the center of LRLL.

It makes sense too because the tide (same tide we saw at water 7) would make it so that you could only get to the middle once a year making it really hard to get to, the island forms a crown, it seems to be a possible X marks the spot based on the other poneglyphs, and joyboy had potentially used his awakening around that area (e.g., the trees and animals being elongated likely being from joyboys awakening from a big battle like punk hazard and so the awakening remained)

Nami needs a buff, ik a lot of ppl are gonna be like "but she got zeus" and here's the problem, that doesn't change the fact that if she fought anyone rn in cross guild, shanks crew or the blackbeard pirates crew shed die in 2 seconds, this why most straw hats do need that buff in elbaf: nami, usopp, robin hell maybe even brook

i don't know if somebody already speculated this but don't you think that all of what's happening now on egghead was calculated by vegapunk from the start ? by that I mean that even ( maybe? ) yorke is in the coup, stella is a genius and it seems too good to have all 5 gorosei at the same place and all those events unfolding neatly.

Stella's goal would be to expose the gorosei and imu to the rest of the world by visio-denden mushi or something similar, to get justice for ohara. They've been waiting for luffy to get on the island to start their plan.
Yorke was already getting the world gov's attention by capturing cipher pol agents for months, and to be frank her plan to become a celestial dragon seems a bit strange, there doesn't seem to be a reason for her to do that if i'm not mistaken ? Vegapunk also knew that boney will encounter the pacifistas/seraphims at one point, he gave her the highest authority to control them and her father, almost as if he somehow knew that a gorosei would show up while she was present.
Even the old robot is on his island, Vegapunk was aware of nika's power and his link to the void century ( that's also where we first see vegapunk when he was moving in space/time .. ? and got stuck to the robot )

Imo it seems strange that he would risk the wg coming to egghead as it would mean its destruction, why risk the loss of all those scientific advancements and invaluable relics/proofs of the past ? because he knew, and all the books and knowledge from Ohara are safe in elbaf, at least for now.

imo the thing missing from VP 5d chess theories like that is knowledge that this would occur. If the straw hats didnt show up, vp would have been quickly executed by rob lucci and there probably would be no need to bring the gorosei themselves to stop the message if cp0 has solid control over the island and seraphim.
York's reason to want to be a celestial dragon is the simplest reason, greed. It's not hard to imagine why someone would want to be at the very top of the world's food chain.

yeah I mean it's evident that they were waiting for luffy's arrival, he's the best bait and well he's nika ( if you don't also count the 'main character plotline' )
As for yorke I know that greed was the reason, but it seemed a tad simple, that's why I thought she was up to something else at first, and thought about the chess theory later x)
But frankly it doesn't invalidate the theory imo, we can still say that vegapunk knew about it to some extent.

# icy grove i don't know if somebody already speculated this but don't you think that all of...

I'd say due to York's disposition, it makes sense why she'd want to become a CD. Out of all the Vegapunks, her motivation make sense.

I've said this before, but it would be very interesting if Punk Records was the one orchestrating this, not Stella. As if Punk Records has become its own sentient being among the satellites separate from Stella. Perhaps it was the one that fed Shaka the need to call Dragon, nudged York to defect, and the Stella to ask Luffy for help in escaping. Moreover, I don't think Vegapunk is losing any information since most of his technology is based on what the Ancient Kingdom has done in that past. And that knowledge is preserved in Elbaf.

What doesn't really fit is (as Qbz said) how he would have known Luffy would arrive. We saw Law, Kidd, and Luffy play a game of Rock Paper Scissors in ch1056. How could Vegapunk be waiting for Luffy's arrival when it wasn't even guaranteed he would arrive there? That's the biggest missing piece I think. "Main Character Plotline" is probably the simplest answer to this like you said.

Ah you mean when the Shandorians used to do their sacrifices how they said "sun god" among the 4 other gods in Noland's flashback. I don't recall if Shandorians called Luffy a Sun God during Skypiea arc, but it's definitely possible Enel eavesdropped and overheard their past. I don't know how Enel would have learned about the "Nika" part or even the description of that df's powers. But sure hypothetically the Birkans may have had their own secrets.

What was the laughtale being on the moon bit? Is it the whole 'turn the straw hat symbol upside down and you get a ufo'?

• Loyal followers of the Kozuki clan have crescent moon tattoos.
• The Minks rely on the moon for their Sulong transformations.
• Celestial Dragons wear costumes similar to a space astronaut.
• Oda sent Enel to the moon in the first place.
• here has to be a connection between "Birka" the ancient sky island and "Birka" the strange moon civilization.
• The fact that no one has ever reached laughtale apart from roger, if it was a land island someone would have stumbled upon it, the necessity of the road poneglyphs implies that it’s extremely out of reach so the moon is the best candidate for such a place
• Oda loves to do crazy things to reach places that are thought to be legends by most of the world (just like skypiea) so laughtale being on the moon would be the most over the top thing you can do

Enel knowing about the full nika lore and not just the 4 gods the shandorians worshipped as just gods is a normal deduction after accepting that laughtale is on the moon and enel frequents the place

steady prism
#

Thanks for explaining your points. I agree that there are a lot of references that signify the importance of the moon and it certainly is an out-of-the-box candidate for Laugh Tale. Just a few counterpoints I wanted to bring up:

  • Based on Enel's monologue in ch274, my impression was that the sky people originated from the moon (ie fairy vearth), which is why I didn't see any issue with an ancient city on the moon called "Birka". I agree that sky people in general came from the moon, which leads to the potential of inter-planetary shenanigans.

  • I still do not agree that Enel knew the full nika lore during his fight against Luffy. Enel doesn't frequent the moon, he has only gone there once (after being defeated by Luffy in ch300). There is no way to deduce Enel knows about Nika without making the assumption that Birkans had an oral history that revealed Nika's existence to a younger Enel.

punk record is more of a giant library than an AI or something that could spawn conciousness, vegapunk wants to share it to the whole world. It was yorke all along that made all unauthorized changes and weird actions.

Ever since I saw the scene of Shanks with the gorisei and that he just randomly decides to claim the One Piece, I’ve been confused. But that is shanks’s whole character. When has Shanks even done anything that isn’t extremely confusing or misleading. Even back in chapter 1, we see shanks mislead us into thinking he’s weak, just to reveal how strong he is. We also still don’t know what happened during marineford for shanks crew, and how he was able to get there so quickly. The whole point of shanks character and crew is mystery. The fact is, whatever shanks had planned is definitely a mystery, and due to Oda’s love to actively mislead the audience, this all works out. Now the question is if oda is trying to mislead us, what is shank’s goal. Shanks has immense knowledge on the world. I even believe when he said let’s claim the one piece, he specifically used the word claim instead of find like everyone else because he has already found the one piece. Also it’s pretty much canon he is of figarland blood. This would give us reason to believe shanks has immense knowledge on concepts like nika and joyboy. Now let’s take a little break from talking about shanks and dig a little bit deeper into Nika. Trust me this is important. The full concept of Nika is very unknown generally in the one piece world. The full concept is pretty much limitless, especially in the hands of someone as stupid as luffy. Nika is basically limitless power at its full potential, and with luffys haki mastery and potential haki abilities, he is not a force to be reckoned with.

#

Now I think shanks has a good idea of this, and I’m not going to get into it in this full theory right now, but there is definitely more to haki. There is good reason to believe that there is such thing as advanced future sight. The evidence for this comes from the character of shyarly. She can predict the future, and I think she is just naturally gifted with advanced future sight. Now where am going with this? Shyarly was able to use future sight to foresee luffy destroying fishman island, but since her future sight isn’t as good as shanks she could only see him destroying fishman island. Shanks, who has much better future sight, saw luffy destroying the entire world. This is why he warned the Elders about him, and why they all personally pulled up on egghead when they found out luffy was there. This also explains why Shanks is going to claim the one piece, because he’s scared if luffy finds it he will unlock the full potential of Nika and destroy the world.

I am saying that him foreseeing his death is different than the situation currently happening.

Dead man switches are common, so it's no surprise he'd release bombshells upon death. However him believing the 5 elders would come and the whole seige was comming is a bit of a stretch. Especially since he didn't expect bonney, the giants, straw hat, or even know about the cp members that were locked up there.

He knew they were onto him and had many decisions that would ensure his death. However the scope of this incident is well beyond vegapunks thoughts. The cp had been doing alot of routine visits and then cp0 of all people comming ment that there was something up.

I really thought the last panel would have given us a Lil more information.

I assumed the robot would be there, I guess the reveal is next chapter. I bet the gorsei do shut off the local den den but there's another inside the frontier dome or with stussy. Kinda hope that at least since I want the message to finish. However I do worry it gets cut off right at the start or near end. Leaving a piece of a puzzle piece.

Still what was that noise supposed to be in the last panel?

Vegapunk is smart, if he said they wouldn't be able to cut the broadcast in 10 min ( and was even saying an hour ) it's because he knew that even a powerful haki sensing being couldn't stop it in time, and he probably included the Gorosei in the mix cause the chance they'd come to stop the broadcast would be high.

I'm guessing mars will be trolled somehow and will have 1 minute to figure how to stop the broadcast when he'll realise that killing the Den Den mushi won't do anything ( or the den den mushi will be protected by layers of shields of the brain itself )

York - traitor (and will probably be killed when the transponder snail is revealed as a fake)

To join the SH crew that leaves
Atlas, Edison, or Lilith.
I'm guessing 2 of those 3 will also die and leave a single avatar to join.

Lilith is a possibility based on being the first Vegapunk the crew met, but I think she's too much of (yet another) Nami lookalike.
Atlas is possible but moreso exists as an Astro Boy homage.
That leaves Edison who can act as a new cute mascot character as we enter the final saga.

Why I think one will join (or at the very least sail as an honorary member in a Momo/Vivi sense) is because Vegapunk is going to rival Dragon for his bounty when all is said and done. He has nowhere else to go and fills a crewmember void: a genius. Sure, Franky is a great mechanic and Robin is an archeologist, but we don't have a smart SH. I also feel like Vegapunk has been built up way too much to just exist in a single arc.
I also think he will be excited to help with Luffy's secret dream of space exploration.

rugged python
#

My theory begins with observing Enel's moon adventure.
The Enel cover story indicates that space travel is possible in the world of One Piece and has been accomplished.
Based on the information available in the manga, I assume One Piece is set in a post-apocalyptic world. We can infer this from the presence of out-of-place technology like the giant robot from Egghead Island, demonstrating the advanced state of the past 800 years ago.
Considering the level of advancement at that time, it wouldn't be surprising if space travel was invented during the Void Century. This could explain the existence of various races in the world of One Piece, such as Fishmen, Lunarians, and Giants. They might be aliens from different planets, enabled by the technology from 800 years ago.
Why do I believe Franky is the key to "One Piece"?
Consider the differences between Roger's crew and Luffy's crew. While both have swordsmen, doctors, and shipwrights, Roger's crew lacks an engineer at the level of Vegapunk or Franky. Franky spent the two years of the timeskip upgrading himself with Vegapunk's technology, and his experience on Egghead Island could further enhance his skills.
This is significant because "One Piece" might be a lost technology enabling space travel. Roger and his crew laughed when they found One Piece because, along with the treasure, they discovered instructions or stories about this advanced technology, finding it absurd. This is akin to presenting modern technology to people from the Middle Ages, who would likely find it laughable.
Roger's desire to live in Joy Boy's era could stem from the excitement of living in a world full of such inventions.
No one from Roger's crew would be capable of repairing or using these machines, as no one possesses the technological expertise of Franky or Vegapunk.

On chapter 561 we saw Elmy(one of whitebeard allies) create a golem and it seems like she command it to fight. In zou arc, the anime added that weevil defeated more whitebeard allies than it was shown in the manga, Elmy was one og them. In egghead arc, we saw Prince Grus who has the Gunyo-Gunyo no mi(clay clay fruit), and he can create golems to fight for him. My theory is that Weevil killed Elmy and Grus ate the regenerated fruit. That means anime only scene was cannon.

Also, based on their apparent power there's hardly anything to fear, and all the cares they had seem to be a more a pretence than anything else, e.g., Saturn food was tested for poison when he himself seems to be able to produce powerful poisons and is likely (but not granted) immune to them.

Sapphire Scale disease secret to the void century

The Sapphire Scale disease that Ginny supposedly got from Saturn's experiments got inherited by Jewelery Bonney and the side effect was that she could not come in contact with sunlight. We never really got to see Bonney actually eat her fruit but she got her power suddenly. Oda has said that Bonney's fruit is the Age Age fruit but there was something weird happening when Bonney used her fruit to attack seemingly like Nika would, weird right? Kuma told Dragon about this disease and Dragon directed Kuma to find Vegapunk, I think that Dragon had a small idea what this disease could be and knew that Vegapunk would make great use of what this disease is.

Saturn Jay Garcia is the head of science and defence and much like Vegapunk would have the capability to research into devil fruits and lineage factors and possibly duplicate devil fruit powers. What fruit power do the Gorosei want more than anything? The Nika Nika fruit, and the reason why is the ONE PIECE treasure.

The Sapphire Scale disease is the Saturn and the Gorosei's attempt at synthetically recreating the Nika Nika fruit through lineage factor experiments. But how would they have access to the lineage factor of the Nika Nika fruit? Remember the secret chamber below Mariegeoise where the giant Straw Hat was? Imu from 800 years ago kept some of Joyboy's DNA or lineage factor and froze it in the chamber below to keep it from decomposing so that they could do research and experments to replicate the Nika Nika fruit in order to take control of the true power of the One Piece treasure.

She didn't get her power suddenly. Saturn conducted experiments on babies including Bonney which led to her getting her ability (see: chapter 1103)
Her ability is limited to the user's perception of said future. She's able to use Nika-like attacks based on the legend Kuma told her. However, she seemily got weaker as she began doubting both, her future and the existence of Nika. (also see: chapter 1103)
I don't think Dragon truly knew about the disease. And also, it seemed very convenient, to refer Kuma to Vegapunk, at that time because:
a. He personally knew Vegapunk
b. And due to the explosion in ph, he had to move his lab and the security would be pretty lax around him, giving Kuma and Bonney safe passage to Vegapunk himself.
I don't think Saturn is capable enough to replicate a devil fruit. AFAIK, he doesn't hold a candle against the likes of Vegapunk's geniuses. So far, we have only known him administrating fluids on infants which works, but the fruit ends up being useless anyway. And he was also experimenting with drugs on Ginny which caused her to develop sapphire scale and was later thrown away like the rest.
The only edge he has against Vegapunk is time, budget and most importantly, a constant influx of test subjects.
Once again, I don't think they're capable of synthetically recreating DF's... or at least, we don't know yet. BUT the whole demonic aura and pentagram summons are exclusive to them...

Unimportant theory about Spandam's father and why all the CP9 members are in CP0:

So, as you know, Spandam's father Spandine is "high ranking in the world government", but how high ranking is he?
CP9 is the second strongest Cipher Pol cell, and he was apparantly promoted from that. We know the director of both the Marines and Cipher Pol is Commander in chief Kong, meaning the only positions left between chief of CP9 and Commander in chief could be:
• chief of CP0 (in the case where "orders directly from the celestial dragons" might get funelled through him)
• Chief of a handful of CP cells (like for example cell 1-4, though idk if Oda would ever consider having middle managers like that)
• Chief of all cipher pol / CP1-9 (as akin to a fleet admiral)

That begs the question though; if he has such a high position, and he loves his son so much, why did he place him in the same cell as the people who most want him dead?
I think after seeing how difficult it was to capture CP9, Spandine realized:

  1. these guys are still a threat to us
  2. they want my son dead
  3. my son did kinda fuck up
and so decided that instead of having free-roaming trained assassin coming after his son, he should hire them, give them a promotion, and put his son in there with them as a sort of punishment for buster calling Enies Lobby
#

TL;DR:
Spandam's father might be in charge of Cipher Pol, and the reason he put his son in a cell with his worst enemies was to punish Spandam and to hinder them from outright killing him

I do agree that for zoan dfs it is possible they can "choose" their users (in some capacity) because they have wills. But that can't always be the case, can it? Like even for CP9 (now CP0), I know Lucci and Kaku awakened their dfs but did the df really gravitate towards them? Felt like the WG shipped 2 dfs and Kaku coincidentally ate the Giraffe df. Do you think it's always choosing that far ahead or is it sometimes random?

When Kaido first told us about awakenings in ch1046 ("awakening is what happens when your mind and body catches up with your powers!!"), I was always curious why he knows so much about awakenings but hasn't explicitly shown his own df's awakening. Perhaps it has something to do with his destiny or lineage factor.

Kaido has been at the top of pirates for at least 20 years, knowing about df awakenings even without his own being awakened isn't that surprising. Also, following his comment, while his body is likely up to his df awakening, his mind might not be in sync with its ideals. In the same way, simpler zoan fruits are probably way easier to awaken (with the drawback of risking being overpowered by its will) than myth zoans, which might require a more precise share of ideals (like Luffy's freedom and personality being in sync with what Nika has been described as), due to animals mind simplicity. And maybe zoan users being overtaken by the df will is nothing more than the user personality becoming too much in sync with the df (which might not happen with myth due to being more complex personalities, thus is not noticeable).

not a huge theory, but ive been thinking about the potential shanks and blackbeard fight and im becoming more and more sure that it'll happen on road/loadstar. first off, geographically it makes sense as both shanks and blackbeard were last seen on two of the three islands that all lead to lodestar (elbaf and winner island respectively). Also assuming luffy goes to elbaf next it would give luffy an opportunity too see the fallout/be involved with the of the fight person which I think would be important if luffy wont get to meet shanks in person before his probable death to blackbeard.

#

Another way that them fighting at loadstar work is its highly implied that something went down on lodestar between the roger and rocks pirates. weather it was a fight or rocks taking something from the island before roger arrived. we know roger arrived at lode star 39 years ago, and 38 years ago roger says "do you know how ive felt this past year" when arriving at god valley to fight rocks. this makes me think that we'll get a bit more of the god valley flashback at the shanks and blackbeard fight, and maybe even a bit of a roger or rocks flashblack (although i would assume none of these could finish outside of shanks, because oda would want to leave some fuel in the tank for blackbeard and luffy's fight)

Hello so you know what i noticed. The generations in One Piece. Sengoku, Garp, Whitebeard, Shiki, Roger are one generation. So now Akainu, Dragon and the Shichibukai that are gone now are next

#

Actually Akainu is the new fleet admiral from Part 2 so he is the next after Sengoku for now. We know Coby is supposed to take Garp's place but the generation after Akainu is Coby's. And well so much stuff. Btw i think the Final Saga is not the last.

Oda may say this: "Yes i said it is the final arc of One Piece but the story about One Piece revolves around finding it and Whitebeard said once the treasure is found, a war breakd out which means this the final sage to find One Piece and after the final saga the final war. The final saga maybe "One Piece saga".

Why do i want this? Because i love order and egghead mirrors water 7 and mariejois will mirror enies lobby and i think Imu has the One Piece.

So i think this final sage revolves around defeating Imu and the Elders. And after this Akainu and Blackbeard will be the final enemies.

I also think Akainu will have rage mode and awakened devil fruit to suddenly be stronger than Nika.

#

So in short: My theory is that after Final Saga comes One Piece Saga and that Oda trolls us. Because Whitebeard said the war breaks out when the One Piece is found. I think Imu has it secretly.

#

Or better said Imu maybe owns Laughtale also why is he kept secret? The 5 elders are his servants but officially they are seen as the Boss. So that Imu can move freely without worry and do his thing. The 5 Elders are de facto leaders after we found out about Imu.

I don't know if this will fit this channel, but I have this passage I made on a moment of Usopp being seen as a brave warrior of the sea, though not necessarily him believing he has become one.

Elbaf will have Mjolnir be a giant hammer that ate an Atlas Beetle zoan. Prince Thor dies during Elbaf, or in a flashback. Mjolnir will only let a brave warrior of the sea wield it.

As Usopp stands before the armadas of the wg and blackbeard, he bellows that he has a mighty army of thousands of giant warriors that he will unleash on them lest they retreat.

The armadas launch a barrage that could annihilate islands. Usopp believes he is about to die, but he smiles with tears streaming down his face. The chapter ends with the sounds of explosions.

Next chapter opens with Usopp thinking of his dad, the kids of syrup village, the giants, the strawhats, Kaya, and his mom. Just as the barrage is about to hit, suddenly ships of the armada explode as Mjolnir blitz the shots back with the wind produced by breaking the sound barrier.

The island was destroyed, but Usopp realizes he's alive. Then he realizes he is on Mjolnir'a back. He looks all over and finds that the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, The Giants, the Straw Hats's allies, and the Sunny are below him.

As Usopp laughs and cries, he urges Mjolnir into the Armadas. The chapter ends with a two page spread of Usopp swinging Mjolnir into the fleets, splitting the sea and sky. Break Next Week.

CHAPTER 1113 SPOILERS AHEAD

After reading Chapter 1113, I saw someone mention something about the behaviour of long ring long island (credit to okonomiyaki54) which got my thinking, what if the entire world used to be one pangea like continent. And that every 800 or so years, the world goes through a cycle of the world water level rising and falling. Due to the rising water levels over the past 800 years, this once supercontinent has now been reduced to thousands of small islands that have become the nations we know today. This could also explain the absence of islands that are as large and vast as the "Great Kingdom" was once described as.

Whether this is a gradual rise, a single or series of events that cause the water level to rise quickly like Aqua Laguna of Water 7, that I am not sure. What I do think will happen though is when the water has completely risen, what remains of the land will be the Red Line and the now giant ocean that could be considered the All Blue.

I also think that one of the reasons why Roger said they were too early to laughtale was because they had to wait 20 more years for this event to unfold, revealing something significant or serving as the catalyst for a revelation about a place or entity.

chapter 1113 spoilers

theory: about the nature of the world sinking and the "great cleansing"

so we already know islands like water 7 and wano are affected by water making their countries/areas sink and have to build up to keep living there

we know how accustomed the wg is to erasing history and events of the past

im ngl i dont remember what chapter it was or which gorosei said it but iirc it was sometime at the end of wano where one of them said something along the lines of "it seems the world is in need of a great cleansing..."

now what if the world having a "great cleansing" refers to the world being cleansed by the water and being sunk into the ocean, like vegapunk said

and the void century is the time they last cleansed the world ridding it of all traces regarding joyboy or the ancient kindom or any of that, by sinking everything from that time into the world e.g all the islands etc

so if you went deep enough into the ocean or something, you would see remnants of all the old buildings/locations/areas of the void century. in fact unless im forgetting something, wouldnt the noah fit this description? its been stuck down there at fishman island for quite a long time, eh? it might be one of the few "living" relics of that time

to add on, fishman island is an island that despite being deep in the ocean, can still work as an island due to the bubble, making it probably the only island that could've existed back then but still actually be in existence due to the circumstances

and, while being a little different, the mother flame used to destroy lulusia made the same gaping hole in the ocean like the one at enies lobby, and if the mother flame is a cloned ancient weapon or something along those lines, what if the reason it left the same mark is because the gaping hole at enies lobby was caused by, well, AN ANCIENT WEAPON? perhaps uranus? and theres something hiding at the bottom of enies lobby, e.g part of the ancient kingdom which is why they attacked that spot, to attack the ancient kingdom. and maybe all this ancient weapon stuff is part of how they cause the "great cleansing". also, the weird castle pieces and buildings at enies lobby make no sense so perhaps thats also remnants of the ancient kindom as its right nearby next to the gaping hole previously mentioned? there might be a way to add the gates of justice to this theory but im not gonna touch on that for now.

to continue from my point of being able to see old remnants under the water if u went deep enough, wano, for example, has its own old versions of itself from under the water that have sunken into the ocean over time, so it would kind of be like that with the ancient kingdom remnants i was talking about where u could see the old buildings and versions of places under the water, it would just be way deeper than wano

im probably forgetting some other stuff that i also wanted to say but i already wrote a lot. so anyway

Part of controlling the moon is controlling the tides, and I believe The Great Cleansing is Imu's plan to drown the earth in more water, drowning most of the lower down countries and poorer men that are rebelling. (This part is supported by the most recent chapter !)
The original great cleansing was during the void century. this is what Joyboy failed to stop. Noah's Arc beneath fishman island was a ship he created, intending to carry the people on a boat that would spare them from the first great cleansing. (This explains it being named for the actual Noah's Arc, which was used to carry survivors of God's flooding of the Earth)

Imu's appearance as a figure in shadow is also due to their moon abilities. The Moon is only visible when reflected off the light of the sun, so Imu is only visible outdoors or if Luffy uses the power of the sun god on Imu. I believe there is something monstrous about Imu's appearance that Imu is hiding with this shadow appearance (This is why Imu has remained hidden) Luffy will expose Imu by using his sun powers to reveal their true form. My reason for believing Imu has a "true form" as a monster is that the five elders also have monstrous forms, which they wish to keep hidden based on how they treat marines who see them. I imagine that Imu's full form is kept even closer to the chest, especially considering even their normal human body is cloaked in shadow. I do not know if Imu will be able to transform into a monster like the five elders but I imagine that beneath the shadow that hides them is a monster far more horrifying looking.

I was thinking of the moon too, but I didn't have a concise idea of what it could be, imu's powers? a weapon? also would imu make the moon closer?

Noah is obviously a reference to Noah's Ark, right? What if exactly like the Ark it was built 7 days before the arrival of the flood with the intention of saving as many people as possible and this flood is the cycle that the WG hides from the world? The Celestial Dragons, Goroseis and Imu are the only people who know this... And if the will of the D, it is actually the will of the people who were drowned and Joy Boy was the person who discovered this secret that the government hides repeatedly.

thorny pond
#

if the flood is a cycle, what if the fishmen are a genetic offshoot of humans that adapted to the water to survive?

#

and Imu is pissed off at them, because they can survive in the sea, hence the discrimination, but that's just a random speculation

what would be even wilder if pre void century fishmen\ are genetically engineered humans to survive in the sea

# undone holly Noah is obviously a reference to Noah's Ark, right? What if exactly like the Ark...

So we all agree Vegapunk is an analogy for climate-change scientists, right? He told Luffy and the others his dream was to bring endless, clean energy to the whole world, his research is constantly being monitored/censored by the rich and powerful and he just made a broadcast saying the world is gonna sink into the ocean. Oda has made references to this before, such as in Water 7 how the Aqua Laguna is getting higher every year, and the sunken city in Wano. The Akuma no Mi curse is also that you can't swim, so you sink into the ocean. Also Noah's arc in Fishman island, which Joyboy probably wanted to fill with people so they'd survive the oncoming diluge.

Imu is the reason devil fruit users are weak to water. Everyone knows the theory that Imu is an Umibozu or a Sea Devil, and we've gotten Vegapunk's hypothesis that the Devil Fruits' unnatural powers lead to "the sea itself" going against the user. If Imu is the sea devil, he'd probably have the ability to make DEVIL fruit users weak to the SEA. After Imu is defeated, Devil Fruit users will be able to swim. As for why Imu cursed them in the first place, I have 3 reasons.

  1. Devil Fruit users are powerful, so having some way to control them would be beneficial. Think of it like a shock collar.
  2. Devil Fruits are one of the only ways to defeat Imu, so having an easy counter against them would just make sense.
  3. This one is more farfetched, but Joyboy might have either been a fishman or had fishman DNA. A fishman with water AND Nika powers would be crazy, so to prevent anything like that from happening again, you get the gist. Once again, this one is more farfetched, as Joyboy is likely a Buccaneer or a Giant.

upon research, it seems the most popular japanese moon folklore is

  1. a rabbit, who lives on the moon and pounds mocchi with a mallet -> (i have absoloutley no idea how to tie this to imu. Perhaps their monsterous form could be rabbit like? That's the only idea I have 💀)

Tsukuyomi, the Moon God. Tsukuyomi was married to the Sun God, Amaterasu but angered her by murdering the God of Food, Ukemochi, which caused Day and Night to seperate. I could see a story inspired by this backstory being used for Imu considering Luffy's love for food, but after looking furhter I developed a new theory for Imu's backstory.

Expanding from Japan a little into China leads us to Chang'e, who probably is the most likely moon myth to be taken as inspiration. Chang'e stole the elixer of life from her husband and escaped/was condemned to live on the moon. Perhaps whoever Imu's husband was possesed the Ope Ope no Mi and Imu "stole life" from him by forcing the man to perform the immortality surgery on Imu. I think that becoming immortal probably comes at a cost. Perhaps being "condemed to live on the Moon" could represent Imu being transformed into a creature, (based on Chang'e having a pet rabbit and the previous story of the Rabbit on the Moon Imu may take the form of a mutated Rabbit of some kind) This would explain Imu's immortality and it would explain why Imu would want to hide their appearance using the Moon fruit, which would require him to avoid sunlight and thus be "condemed to live on the Moon"

I believe Imu's fruit would give them the ability to cloak their appearance in shadow while out of the sunlight and give them some control over the Moon. This control would allow Imu to move the tides (Great Cleansing), possibly change day into night or something along those lines as well?

Idea: uranus and motherflame are the same thing. They’re island destroyers, and after Imu used it on lulusia the sea level increased. So what if the one piece is just the motherflame destroying the red line and mariejois, plunging the world into the ocean like vegapunk said? What if pluton is just a ship capable pf pulling continents or a continent itself, like thriller bark or to some extent zunesha? No idea about laugh tale itself but I assume it’s just joyboy saying something along VP’s lines, the roger pirates realising they can’t do anything besides laugh at the absurdity of it all, that to bring Imu down they have to drown everything?

leaden edge
# torn oyster Imu is the reason devil fruit users are weak to water. Everyone knows the theory...

Imu probably wanted all devil fruit users to die when the world is flooded. I suspect that a flood might have happened before or certain people have been planning for a flood to come. Zou having a civilization on its back and being extremely tall allowing for people to survive. The red line being extremely high from the ocean so that Maryjois isn’t destroyed. Noah and Poseidon. Kuma also carries a bible, I’m guessing as a deterrent against Imu or because he studies a prophecy similar story to what we know as the Bible. I’m also starting to think that the D. stands for Devil. “Will of the Devil.” Maybe Imu actually wanted to use them as an army (like angels in the Bible), but the Devil fruits became conscious and turned on Imu (just like the Bible), but Imu had a plan for that and commanded the sea to reject them when he/she floods the planet. Maybe that’s what Imu is actually trying to purge, devil fruit users because they are the only ones that can actually oppose Imu. This was kind of a type as I think so I don’t forget, sorry it’s so scatterbrained. Anyone have anything to add, adjust or disprove?

Is there a chance the sea levels rising could be intentional?
This is a theory me and a friend were discussing very briefly about what VP could be hinting at for the sea levels rising, and how it could be INTENTIONAL for the elders to cause the sea level rise. (Forgive me if there's some reach)

There's some context in 1113 about how they mentioned Mother Flame (The ball of lasers that annihilated Lulusia Kingdom). The final page spread shows how the elders are discussing about the next moves regarding halting VPs message. Warcury specifically explains how with destroying the island = they lose the opportunity to replicate Mother Flame. Which results that they cannot sink the world.

Now some facts to back this up:

  1. Mary Geoise is at the top of the Red Line, any increase in sea levels will not affect them.

  2. Now who can survive the water? Fishman. (Now this part can definitely be a little stretch but hear me out) The fact that these species can directly oppose the plan of the rise to power they have, explains why they want to erase them. This is not the only race we have seen oppressed either. Including how the Lunarians + The Buccaneers could have the same concept of ways to avoid this mass plan to power. (ex. Lunarians going back to the moon)

  3. This further can be theorized with the very power of Devil Fruits and their "curse" of not being able to swim which can play a part in the theory of using the sea as their weapon.

Now there's hypotheticals we also discussed:

  1. Did Momo purposely wait to open the gates of Wano? With his voice of all things, could he have been warned to stall including the reduction of Pluton getting released?

  2. Attaching to the Lunarians, who could definitely have apart in the Moon. Could Enel who was already in the sky KNOW there's purpose in inhabiting the Moon/staying in the sky.

We know the Oda loves his celestial ideology so what do we really know of what JoyBoy (The Sun God) is capable of regarding the sea levels rising? and why do the Elders need control of his will if he simply can be stopped by something like the sea?

Now the ancient weapons can directly be a type of "options" for their sea level plan to work.

  • Pluton: On-the-sea weapon.

  • Poseidon: Under-the-sea weapon.

  • Uranus: Is the only lack of info weapon we have but regarding the wiki's theory of "Uranus was the personification of the sky" This could predict a sky based weapon.

This was a really good chapter. I have a feeling that the Ancient Weapons aren't weapons, but artifacts that saved the masses from Imu which is why the Gorosei is trying to destroy them. Pluton being the boat for the races that could not breathe underwater and Poseidon being the solution to deter the dangerous Sea Kings. Uranus must be something that protects the masses from some threat of above. My guess would be something related to the Moon since the moon is known to move the tides. I think the people of Skypeia or the Lunarian race will be a big deal soon. Maybe Urogue will get a big play in a near future arc. I also wonder if the name Void Century is a hint to the past. The Void century being the time before the flood. When Vegapunk was speaking about the origins of devil fruits, he spoke about a clash between land and sea. Whatever Imu is, seems to represent the sea. I think Imu's motives parallels to Crocodile during the Alabasta arc. Crocodile specifically chose Alabasta because it synergized perfectly with his fruit. Imu must want to flood the world for it be their complete playground and to do that is by swallowing up the world with water. I'm still very curious about the origins of devil fruits because the devil fruits as of right now seem to be the hidden weapons against Imu which is why the Government would rather have the Marine eat them vs outsiders. Not only that The Celestial Dragons have a strange relationship with devil fruits as if they are "dirty". You would think a Celestial Dragon would be elated to have such a powerful fruit but they give them to either to slaves or higher ranking officers. Its like they view them as enhancements for their property and another level of control for their slaves (weakness being Sea Water). This chapter also gives me a new perspective on Alabasta and how that kingdom is literally a desert away from the Sea. It is as if they chose that location because Princess Lily new the truth and thought ahead of time.

Who is Imu, and what could be Luffy’s goal? (THEORY):
During the beginning of Luffy’s adventures, a whirlpool just so happens to appear as soon as Luffy sets off. Imu has a similar appearance to Umi Bozū, Umi has the ability to create whirlpools, Imu is Umi backwards, they are both only silhouettes with only eyes visibly detailed. Umi Bozū means Sea Priest. Maybe Imu’s wearing a priest outfit, you can tell by the way Imu’s silhouette is shaped. More evidence to support that Imu is based off of Umi Bozū is that how Luffy survived is entering a barrel and sailing away like that, which is how to survive Umi. If you want, you can say an evil priest could be a demon. Evil Sea Priest…Sea Devil…Umi Bozū…Whirpool…Unknown Abilities…Ruler of The Government, And Most Likely The Strongest In The Verse. Vegapunk states that the world is sinking into the ocean, and if Luffy is to save and free everyone, Luffy will have to perform perhaps a large planetary feat and keep the whole entire world afloat. Luffy telling the end of his dream to his siblings and friends caused them to laugh. Having a party with the entire world seems laughable + after every big arc there’s some kind of party. Luffy has to free the world and wants to party with the whole world, and Imu wants to keep the whole world captive and wants only darkness for the world. This is One Piece.

While reading the blueprints, Iceberg said “why would anybody build something like this?” with horror on his face. Franky said “can humans really build this thing?” in shock/awe. Pluton has never been described as anything other than immensely destructive, even by people who aren’t associated with the WG

This could just be a huge nothing burger that is completly off, but what if the All Blue comes from the sinking of the One Piece world?:

When I was first reading 1113, I was looking at the panel at the end with the fish and mermaids in the sea, which made me also think about how we have such little detail on the All Blue, but what if all the fish in the ocean are brought together because they are genuinley brought together? Also you might be asking how can the water return to it original level? Well it can, it's just that we dont know how. Wano is a great example of the water getting back down, because the walls of wano are still completly flooded while the outside is normal.

There is still little to no details about the All Blue, so I wouldnt be surprised if this were super far off

# wanton berry This could just be a huge nothing burger that is completly off, but what if the ...

That could make sense

Jumping off of that, to keep the creation of the all blue an actual positive development, maybe luffy’s real dream could be to turn every island into a ship or something along those lines?

The idea of draining the ocean had me a little iffy considering how much life is currently dependent on it, but if the islands themselves float, as thriller bark and (in the future) water 7 do, that wouldn’t be necessary at all

Sounds pretty ridiculous and implausible enough for the straw hats oden and whitebeard to react as they did, and it seems very natural for the friend-loving pirate-idolizing luffy to want; everyone on his island would get to be a pirate with him in his eyes

Theory on the gorosei's future:

Theres a possibility the reason the gorosei are getting dunked on is cus theyre not gonna be the big bad for later… That this IS their time to shine.
Im saying theres a chance Imu's gonna kill them off after this massive failure, thus leaving the God's knights as his main underlings for later. Maybe Imu even reveals himself to the world now that his plan is out in the open, who knows?

Do I fully believe this? No. As that would make the purpose of Devon's new Saturn transformation up in the air, as I dont see what use it would have in this scenario. But is it possible? I think so

@visual fossil it’s a no brainer, the world of one piece has been shifted. Possibly this shift correlates to redline. Theory: Only half of the one piece world is going to sink

in the real world, the magnetic poles of the Earth changes after long interval of times

What if it is the same for the one piece world? When the poles eventually change, a large amount of ocean water is transported from one side of the world to another.

This causes one side of the world have floods, and the other side of the world have lower water levels.

Impel down was prolly built during a time where that place experienced low ocean levels, and on the land surface, now due to the poles shifting that place has higher water levels, therefore it is under water

The tree from ohara also indicates, water level rising/receding

The user can summon thralls of anyone who ever died, limited to 2 at a time. The thrall uses the original body's technique, but the strength of the thrall is relative to the user unless a body is used to summon, in which case the strength is equal to the body's original strength
Awakening allows the user to summon many thralls at once, and perform true resurrection at the cost of their life

Crack Theory 2: Akainu is the Forest God, the God of Change and Rebirth

The Sun God Luffy is known for his ability to befriend others and, in befriending them, free them from their oppressors

Akainu is known for the devastation he leaves in his wake, i.e. with the slaughter of Ohara and the execution of Ace, but oft overlooked are the results of this destruction:

  • Seeing Ace's death, Sabo regains his memories
  • With anyone who could defend her killed, Robin is labeled the devil child
  • Seeing the monstrous consequences of Absolute Justice, Kuzan’s Burning Justice freezes over into Lazy Justice

In short, their identities grow and change- are reborn, even

The element his fruit embodies is no different in its associations:

  • Little Garden's volcanoes erupt as Dorry and Brogy’s daily fight resumes
  • The Knockup Stream that shoots Jaya into a brand new world is powered by volcanic activity
  • The Wano volcano erupts as Kaido/Orochi are dethroned and the Kozuki return
  • Even irl (and technically after Wano), eruptions enrich the soil, causing plants to flourish

Rebirth, change, growth- that sounds like the forest right there, and Akainu and his fruit bring these qualities with his destruction just as Luffy brings freedom and laughter with his friendship

Akainu himself has a surprising number of floral associations. He wears a flower in his lapel, has a sprawling tattoo dotted with flowers, has an attack named after the lotus flower, and takes care of bonsai trees as a hobby: trees that have to be pruned- destroyed- to grow into the shapes their caretakers want.

And yeah, it would be really ironic for the magmaman to be the Forest God, but that doesn't exactly mean that it's impossible. Just look at the rubber powers the Sun God has.

The Drum Island Sakuras might even have been a hint at this awakening in miniature; they certainly do resemble sakura trees, but from another angle they could just as easily be viewed as colorful volcanoes

I think the major event that Toki travelled to the future for is this. This is what the Minks and others have been waiting for. The world sinking. The pole shift. It's still unclear whether it is supposed to be a man made event or a natural occurrence but I think it's more like both. It is a thing that is supposed to happen but needs someone to trigger it. That someone is Joyboy, and he does not intend to kill anyone but to bring forth the DAWN OF THE WORLD.

The void century Joyboy leading the Ancient Kingdom and the D. clan was supposed to be the cataclyst for this world sinking event. He was supposed to do something or the other to TRIGGER the world event, which would bring about the DAWN OF THE WORLD. A new era where all races including Fishmen could live freely in harmony on the surface. The Noah was built for the fishmen for this exact purpose. Joyboy DID NOT intend to kill anyone. He would've evacuated them through the ship coating or some way or another. This is why Rayleigh and the other Roger Pirates are stationed in certain parts of the grand line; to aid in the coming of the New Dawn since they know it will happen. Anyway, the 20 kingdoms did not like this idea. They thought it was crazy and seeked to revolt against the ancient kingdom. They fought a great war and as we know, the 20 kings won, erasing all records pertaining to that kingdom and banned research so that nobody ever has a possibility to start the world-sinking event.

Zunesha had a role to play during the war but fucked up somehow (his crime) which caused the 20 kings to win.

My guess is that the way Joyboy is supposed to start the world sinking event is through the ancient weapons. He was in command of all of them at some point. As evident from the Iron Giant, his heartbeat is the power source and the key for these weapons to be used, besides Poseidon. Luffy has no idea about this though, and I dont really know how hes going to fill the shoes of the old Joyboy but Oda will cook.

#

or quite possibly Luffy's true dream is the same as the old Joyboy's which is theorized to be throwing a party with the whole world, and he achieves that by triggering the sinking event.

# pure raven It will allow him to expand his power out from relying on his devil fruit

Luffy relies a lot on his devil fruit, that's true, but I don't see him becoming a swordsman in order not to rely on it anymore. Roger and Shanks use a sword only to convey their haki, and I'm half serious when I say Luffy could use his sandals or whatever object to do so. It's true though that Shanks and Roger's swords aren't ordinary swords, I suppose they can bear a great level of Conqueror Haki as opposed to a sandal XD
But Luffy not relying on his devil fruit at this point seems impossible considering his whole identity as Nika, the warrior or Liberation, the Sun God, comes from his DF

pure raven
cunning iron

if he can't rely on his df, he can use haki with his fist. that's what the training in wano was for. using a sword with or without haki is a different set of training and if luffy was going to use it properly, wano would've been the place for him to learn it.

# pure raven Yes and he couldn’t compare to kaido’s weapon

That's only because Luffy had just unlocked that new form of advanced CoC, and we could also question his pure level of CoC, it's not necessarily because he didn't have a weapon. Garp was called "Garp the fist" and never fought with a weapon, yet you can't claim that he wasn't on a similar level to the likes of Roger when he was at his prime.
By the way Gear 5 is a mode where Luffy can fight however he wants, giving him a weapon and make him fight exclusively with it would reduce his imagination and ability to fight as he pleases. We saw him creating a baseball bat recently, so Luffy doesn't really need a specific weapon imo
