Well i read up on it and i should say what peculiar citings you have come across...while not much of it is readapted one for one in one piece it sure is a credible source to take inspiration from and i can see things from it being adapted to one piece!I would say my fav part about this is the chinese and toist mythology aspect of it of the world tree with carvings and the peach of immortality though because of its chinese roots i see it being adapted to a lesser degree...also granny kokoro is inspired from the heiji tale i beleive because she found love aswell and hence shed her mermaid physique to an extent(she is an icefish mermaid and her lower half split in two)...the yokai wood block print and di nation is also in line with one piece but thats chinese too(still i would advice expand on this-seems promising)
I also had a similar thought earlier, but then I came to realize that it's not the devil fruit itself that is evil, but rather the way it is used by its user. If the user utilizes the fruit properly, it wouldn't have a malevolent nature.
Furthermore, the power of the Kage Kage no Mi extends beyond just removing shadows. As evidenced during the Marineford war, Moria was able to create a massive shadow-sword that pierced through Oars Jr. (Ep - 464 & Ch - 555)
This demonstrates that the capabilities of the fruit are influenced by the individual using it. It can be employed to create shadow weapons or shields for the purpose of protecting friends and allies, among other possibilities.
And I'm not suggesting that Koby would purposefully obtain the fruit. It could happen by chance, fate, or even under circumstances that force him to eat it, just like what happened with Buggy.
i don’t think koby is getting morias fruit that just doesn’t make sense
I am currently earning my PhD in psychology. MPD/DID do seem likely for BB. The changes in personality are sudden yet complete takeovers. They happened to him in more than 3 settings. It's said he never sleeps which can cause all types of psychological issues, also had a hard childhood. In addition he is known to be a heavy drinker and have high level of anxiety. His big dreams could also be considered delusions. Those symptoms are all also symptoms of DID
Will mihawk die? And will his yoru be broken ?
... Could Aokiji be a spy for the Revolutionary?
yeah the fact that he does not sleep and that his two sisters vanished misteriously, and he had a somehow rough life...
Thanksss
. I really appreciate it. Oh yeah I forgot about the granny Kokoro. Yea, I agree with you for that part too. Sorry for the slow response btw. was busy
No issues my man...what i feel is extremely special about op community are the various folklore refrences and citations they make to create theories and possible inclusions courtesy of our big brain goda
Personally I don't see Mihawk dying to any regular pirate because his only power comparison is to Shanks and Shanks has been shown to be on a different level than the other yonko. It's possible that the seraphs may take him down because of their unique combo of power and abilities. His sword is named, and named swords are generally the best crafted. Maybe if he duels Zoro there is a chance it will break because Zoro has several swords of around equal quality.
Hey.. actually pls tell me which part you can't really accept. I see that you can only accept some part of it. But can you tell me what you think about poseidon or mermaids ruling the world? But this is not everything so of course it's hard for anyone to understand hm..
I mean we haven't seen much of Mihawk decide how powerful he is because as much as I know , he doesn't become yonko or something is to live peacefully
And that's one of the qualities of swordsman (like in other animes) that they live and wander peacefully
So shanks is his rival and i don't think he will kill him or something
I don't see zoro ending up killing mihawk but there is a high chance that if they fight he will break his sword so he is the winner
I assume Mihawk's physical power and skill are on par with Shanks because its been confirmed that they used to duel often before Shanks injury. Haki is another thing that Im sure Shanks has him beat, for sure in conq and obs haki.
As for Mihawks power and skill we see shanks one shot kidd with a sword. Because Mihawk is the best swordsman we can assume that he could stop/deflect that blow.
I also dont see Mihawk dying to Zoro/Shanks.
S-Hawk is most likely gonna be killed by Miwak/ Zoro also if Mihawk dies I'd put it in this fight. Because like you said the Shanks/Zoro duel till death is highly unlikely.
I agree with conq haki , but i have a doubt in obv because you know oda must have a reason to draw his eyes like that ( i can't say it will be obv haki or sum , it could be anything else)
Moreover shanks is on a quest unlike mihawk so ofc we see his development more than mihawk
Yeah , I mean in swords , i believe mihawk is more powerful than shanks
Yeah same , even if they fight , I think mihawk is smart enough to admit his defeat so i don't think it will be fight to death or sum
I'm sorry i don't understand what u trying to say about s hawks
Guys one piece is real
S-hawks "boss" fight will likely be against Zoro or Mihawk. This fight is where I think Mihawk is most likely to die considering S-hawk is Mihawk with lunarian dna and Mr.1's fruit.
I agree that Mihawk most likely has baller Obs haki. But Shanks has been known to turn off others obs haki. So its a hard advantage to consider without direct evidence
Yeah but maybe that would be the place where we can see mihawk's abilities finally against s-hawk
Yeah there is no direct evidence , maybe his eyes might have some other abilities than obv haki , we don't know
What to do guys
I like this theory a lot I definitely see him as part of the Revolutionary Army or Freedom Fighters. He hates the government and his ideals to me do not align with the rest of BB's crew. His actions toward robin and saul definitely help his case for the revolutionary army take. He also joined the marines rather late in life compared to most other characters I think he was already in his twenties. He had to be doing something important before he joined the Marines imo.
i think ringed eyes definitely mean something
Yeah probably
it’s cavendish, mihawk, and imu, the known people with ringed eyes right?
Question, will the one piece break the 4th wall? It’s something only Joyboy could leave. The powers of joyboy are cartoon in nature and characters in the one piece universe comment how it’s not natural
buggy already broke it did he not?
For a moment but nothing serious I thought
Yeah that's all for right now
I had the theory it means possesion. For mihawk and cavendish by swords. For im idk
that’s a great theory. i was looking for a link between mihawk and cavendish and this could be it
Possession by swords?
yeah what if yoru has the ability to posses it’s user
Yeah i was thinking mihawk has his sword under control. Or he is the driver while just getting the power ups. In cavendish case its just the sword and he just wants to kill in That state. And from the words of the smith from wano he says swords have their own personality and they just want to kill. And its up to the wielder to contain that
What if it has something related to imu
imagine if zoro opens his eye and it’s ringed
Possessed Zoro
opens up a lot of possibilities for imu too
Advanced observation haki could possibly alter the eye? Like advanced armament is a permanent coat on certain weapons like Zoro's named blade
There have to be transponder snail farms and sanctuaries around the world. The World Government having entire breeding grounds to produce different kinds of snails for different needs. Selective breeding, mixing, maybe the genetically engineer some of them too or public and private ones for the rich and the marines. I don't think all the transponder snails would be found in the wild. The snails seem more like tools than pets, and I don't think those with weaker/no signals would be kept around. Maybe they became food for other farms, or released into the wild.
Some have to be collector items too. Entire shops gotta be filled with transponder snails of different kinds and sizes and uses. Like a Best Buy, but snails.
Also, do they eat? In the wild, they have to be considered prey.
what are yall theories on what the one piece is
if anyone says a bottle of sake please get the hell out
plot obviously
The fruit was top secret. I think it would have drawn a lot of attention to luffy and why the government would want him. They could have put 3b on him the second they found put he was rubber. But then anti government factions that knew about nika and joy boy would get direct access to luffy. Up until know he is basically a secret to the world not even Garp, Sabo, Dragon, or Ace's closest friends even knew they were related to luffy.
Tldr: To stall the war to overthrow the government.
thats so lame tho
I don't entirely think the One Piece is just one thing, but an assortment of things, and I think part of it is the first wanted poster issued by the World Government, Joyboy's wanted poster, and Roger laughed cause Joyboy was wearing the same straw hat he wore when he was young
ok ngl i like this
Thank you. Was thinking about the theme of fate in the story
not bad
i wonder if roger only found the surface of the treasure but there was more beneath the surface of what roger found
That probably also why Imu wanted to capture Luffy.

The Role of Vivi: Diplomacy and Voice of the Straw Hat Pirates
Many fans in the fandom anticipate Vivi's return and her presence on the Thousand Sunny, speculating that she may acquire a Devil Fruit power to match the strength of the Straw Hats. I'm also excited about this possibility but Personally, I believe that Vivi is better suited as a sovereign with exceptional diplomatic skills rather than a combatant like the other Straw Hat members who actively engage in battles.
Vivi, being a princess, holds significant authority in her country and possesses a natural talent for diplomacy.
- This was evident even during her childhood trip to the Reverie, where she displayed wisdom beyond her age.
- On Drum Island, she successfully convinced Luffy to refrain from attacking the villagers and remained composed after being shot, which inspired the villagers to welcome them peacefully.
- Moreover, after the conflict with Baroque Works, Vivi managed to persuade both the royal guards and rebels of her nation to cease fighting, effectively ending the civil war incited by Crocodile.
Vivi's character revolves around these diplomatic qualities. While the Straw Hat Pirates are fundamentally good-hearted, they are still perceived as pirates and have often been falsely accused of criminal activities, such as
- Iceberg's assassination in Water 7 or
- The mermaid kidnapping incident in Fishman Island.
Despite their noble actions, the general public, who lack personal acquaintance with the Straw Hats, remains skeptical and unlikely to believe their words. This is where Vivi comes in. As an honorary Straw Hat member, she can act as a spokesperson, conveying the intentions and good deeds of the crew to the people. When the Straw Hats eventually uncover the truth about the World Government's centuries-long corruption and villainy, it will be difficult for ordinary people to accept that a mere band of pirates is fighting against such powerful forces. However, given Alabasta's reputation as a virtuous nation and King Cobra's honorable image, Vivi's endorsement and sympathy from the public will be influential, especially since Cobra is now deceased.
In conclusion, I believe that while Vivi may spend some time aboard the Thousand Sunny, she will not engage in combat on the same level as the other Straw Hats. Instead, she will support them as a sovereign, using her diplomatic skills to relay their message and garner public support. When the truth is revealed, Vivi will serve as the voice of the Straw Hat Pirates, helping the world understand their true intentions.
I like the idea of this especially since Vivi now has other reasons to come aboard the ship. She's even more responsible for her country now that Cobra is gone, but at the same time she wont be able to stay in one place like Alabasta with WG pursuers after her. She also has direct interests in joining in order to learn the true history of the world, more info about Lily and the will of D. Going back to the strawhats just seems like the most obvious and safe choice for her. It also feels a bit similar to how Roger brought Oden along to the last island as well
I have a prediction that Zuneshas Identity is the Void Century ancestor of the Kozuki who carved the Poneglyphs in the first place, and the creation of the poneglyphs is their crime.
This would explain why Momonosuke specifically has the capacity to communicate with them.
Imagine if Zunesha is Lily 💀
as you know in onepiece theres almost no such thing as death. Kaido and Linlin are not dead, they have been rescued by Sakazuki after they got sent down to earth core. kaido has the fish fish fruit meaning he can breath under water/magma, linlin can use her soul fruit. they will probably make a return in later chapters
Ace died

@vital fable I've already asked DP and people to move this ringed eyes conversation to #manga-serious . Your thoughts on Mihawk, Cavendish, and Wano will be better appreciated there.
@scenic barn Since this channel's for in-depth theories (like the ones pinned), could you please elaborate? If he's an ancestor of the Kozuki clan, why is he an elephant?
- Zou has existed for nearly 1000 years (as said by Law in ch802).
- Also, it seems like Poneglyphs were made sometime between 900-800 years ago when the Ancient Kingdom was about to lose (as said by Clover in ch395).
How could Zunesha be an ancestor of the Kozuki clan who made the poneglyphs if he's been an elephant during the time when the poneglyphs were made?
@arctic pumice you've made several big claims on reasons why BM and Kaido are alive but never explained why any of them are possible:
- Why would Sakazuki save them? He's at Marineford HQ the entire time. The timeline does not fit.
- Kaido's devil fruit is not a fish, never shown as a fish, nor have we never seen a fish swim in magma.
- Why does BM's devil fruit suddenly make her immune in magma?
Please explain why you think they're alive, preferably with in-story evidence to support it. Otherwise please use #manga-serious if you're looking to simply make a prediction and list out the possibilities.

i feel like zunesha could have been a part of joyboys crew/alliance
though the problem with that is he would know his true identity other than “joyboy”
Theory: Rayleigh gave shanks his sword
So as we can see, in chapter 1 shanks holds a sword with a distinct pattern on the hilt as well as a little twirl at the bottom of it. However, after that chapter, we see shanks with a completely different sword. One with a more flat cross guard, and the curved area on the outside is connected to the cross guard in a different area than the chapter 1 sword.
This wouldn’t be as big a deal if not for chapter 838, in a cover story we see shanks wear the same sword he did in chapter 1! Furthermore we see recently in egghead, he’s back to his pre timeskip sword design (post chapter 1). Now the chapter 1 sword looks just like rayleighs sword from the oden flashback when he was in his prime.
And as we can see Rayleigh has a different sword entirely in modern day. So I believe sometime after roger died Ray gave shanks his sword, and shanks used it until he found gryphon. Now shanks keeps rayleighs sword around to perhaps remember him and his old times or whatever. Perhaps using it for formal events like the wedding in the cover story
Good theory
@viscid saffron shorter “what if” ideas are better suited for #manga or #manga-serious
This channel’s for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned).
Theory - as I was going over and re watching and reading one piece I realize that in many of the occasion that dragon appears saying something he is saying something ominous, and alot of the time to make things ominous they make it sound almost spiritual or something of that sort. For example the earliest one I could find was when he was introduced during luffy's execution Smoker was saying "Could this be a coincidence, It's as if the heavens don't want this man to die" and later dragon is seen saying "The storm of fate has arrived" and around Impel down in a flashback he says something similar. This leads me to believe that as some people have the Voice of all things and can hear the voices of some animals, Dragon can hear the whispers and voices of the wind and etc. And connecting this with his fruit power, whatever it may be, he might be able to hear the voices of the storms and sea too, as the voice of all things is said to be able to hear, well the voices of all things and not just animals.
Blackbeard is actually from the future and he only says things like “The One Piece is real” or follow your dreams because he’s a fraud and already saw how everything played out. He came from the future like biff in btf and gave his older self the yami fruit from thatch (that’s how he really knew he had it,and is why we never see how thatch dies in the manga) however in the future he already has gura so by abusing this loophole he has mutiple devil fruits (in this future he was whitebeard’s respectable protege or something and inherited gura) but he was too old and weak to really use it so he goes back in time when he takes thatch’s fruit and WB’s, now the specifics are hazy because time travel is a mess. Also toki said “you can only travel forward in time” however it was also stated you can only eat one devil fruit and BB ate two anyway so maybe he’s just that guy 🤷♂️
I feel like there is gonna be another timeskip, but this time the strawhats will remain together.
- The strawhats are nowhere near where there supposed to be to reach Raftel
- Koby is set up to be Luffy's main rival, (Garp and Roger) It's almost like Garp will die and Koby will train extremely hard during the time skip
Another timeskip seems necessary because we are now in the final saga and the strawhats are not on the level they should probably be
The Strawhats are at the level where they should be. They’re an emperor crew. They’re absolutely close to where they need to be. Koby is also not set to be luffys main rival at all
Okay please tell why

I don't think he should ever be seen as Luffy's rival either. Koby is my favorite character in the series. He represents true humility, humbleness, empathy and so many more virtues. He is the perfect example of what a Marine should be and care about. For me it's not a coincidence that he is the first person/friend our protagonist comes across and that they depart for the exact opposite paths so early on in the story. My theory is that he'll have a major role against the fight with Imu. His moment in Marineford against Akainu was monumental in my eyes. He attracted the eyes of individuals such as BB, Law, Garp, Marco, Kizaru ( who was about to obliterate Law's ship and hypothetically lead to Luffy drowning) and Sengoku. He got an honest praise from Shanks too! I believe that his words of humility resonated with everyone listening to him. Yes, even BB. The war stopped for a few seconds due to this young Marine's speech about the value and preservation of life, an ideology that every Marine should strive to have as they're fundamental reason for fighting. I believe that was the moment Garp realized how vital his role is. You can argue that Oda could've come up with another reason for Kizaru's attack to be stalled so Luffy could escape safely, but he didn't. He chose to give Koby that part. He'll act for the side of the Marines, Luffy for the side of the pirates and Sabo (possibly) for the side of the Revolutionaries. Ideally though, I'd prefer it if it was just Luffy and Koby. Not implying that Koby will reach Luffy's level of strength anytime soon or be on equal footing with him in that fight since Luffy is obviously the "chosen one", the Sun God/JoyBoy and all ,fighting against the final villain. I would like to fit Dragon somewhere in there, but my agenda just loves this idea of Luffy and Koby being the final enemies of Imu. I consider their importance equal in the sides they represent.
maybe BB could have toki fruit to let in travel in time so then he would have 3 DFs and he has 3 souls so that why he isn't going fo any more DF's maybe
Okay bois, was rewatching Kaido vs Luffy clips and I had an idea hit me. So y'know how distraught Kaido looks when he wise, because it was unfair? The thought occurred to me that while we never see great pirates complain about fairness there is a certain subset of them that has a form of honor and pride; this is undoubtedly a holdover from Oda's early concepts for pirate culture in OP (Peace Mains vs. Morganeers). It's also interesting that we've seen something like this twice in the story so far (Luffy vs. Kat) yet we've never seen Luffy experience the same thing; most likely because it doesn't fit the narrative structure of your average OP arc.
But what about when Luffy fights Shanks? The arc that features that obviously can't follow the usual arc structure because we know Shanks is an alright dude that Luffy admires. They will fight for the One Piece, but I think it's safe to say there won't be any malice or liberation associated with that fight.
What if Blackbeard seizes the opportunity to take out Shanks while he and Luffy are fighting for the One Piece? It's underhanded, it parallels Kaido's and Kat's fight in a way, and it fits with Oda's rule of three thing (that he does't always do and I know it's a common thing in narrative structure but he has an affinity for it as an author). It also helps BB take out a major player and most likely who he assumes is the biggest threat to him, Luffy won't be able to do anything in the moment because of his grief and wear from fighting Shanks, so it could set up the BB arc nicely.
I wanna point something out. (Not related to the latest theories) - A lot of people are doing like headcannon theories, and rely more on interpretation than like evidence in the manga or anime - and I feel like that should be pointed out more. - Just a hot take, since I am very invested and read many good and many bad theories.
This theory is a long read and has two parts, but I think there are a lot of very interesting connections:
Its about the artic/antarctica, hearts and blackbeard.
Since the theory is huge it doesnt fit here, I will leave both a reddit link (its pending moderator approval in reddit at the time of posting this) and a txt. As a summary, I found many mentions of icy lands or the poles over the story and linked them to show there must be something going on in the poles. Additionally, hearts are more important than it seems in OP, and it ends up all related to Blackbeard.

@gritty kite Just so you know, we're fine with people sharing theory links as long as it is accompanied with a summary that has the theory's premise and 2-3 pieces of its evidence/reasoning.
In your situation, I think you've made a lot of effort in organizing and formatting your reddit post to make your points crystal-clear. It looks great when I click it and can follow your thought process. Unfortunately on discord, it doesn't translate well because of the massive collage of images that sit right at the bottom of your theory; it's going to be difficult for people to understand which image is related to which point. This is ignoring the .txt thing that I know you were initially trying to avoid.
Maybe consider writing a short summary of your theory and share the reddit link. That way, anyone that wants to read it can go there and if you find any updates/edits all of that would happen at one spot.
If you want to post it here in parts, I can always turn off slow mode so it’s easy to just copy paste pieces per message. That’s how I post my theories here
Final war predictions Black Beard Pirates try trading Garp to Marines in exchange for Hachinosu being recognized as a government sanctioned kingdon. (So he can get a seat at the reverie) That fails so BB hands over Garp to Cross Guild and collects the bounty. CG then announces the public execution of the Hero Of The Marines forcing the Marines to move against BB/CG. Shanks and Luffy meet in Elbaf arc, they drink, party, emotional reconnection and fight /train. After Elbaf concludes they receive the newspaper announcing Garp’s execution, they go together to stop the execution (Luffy just wants to save Garp) The SH Grand fleet receives word that the execution is happening and follow Luffy’s Vivir card to him in preparation for a war. Navy gets word that all Yonko are headed to the execution and Akainu orders ALL marines to Empty Bluffs.
Elsewhere Dragon hears about Garp and sends Sabo to help Luffy (The Revs head to Mary Geois while the Navy is occupied)
Straw Hats / Grand Fleet / Red Haired Pirates & Sabo and a few good men (Dressrosa Crew) arrive and Confront Cross Guild. Buggy refuses to hand over Garp. Navy arrives and sees all the Yonko in one place battle royal begins.
Zoro vs Mihawk, Sun God Luffy Display, Monster Trio defeats 3 Admirals, Garp is rescued, Kuzan Switches sides, BB Kills Garp in front of Koby/Luffy , BB then heads to Mary Geoise in all the Chaos
Fight continues Marines hear word that Marie Geoise is under attack and head back
War moves to Mary Geoise
Thanks, I’m at work now, will try to fix it later, either with a summary or posting parts
This is a good take and personally I'd encourage people to talk or even debate whether theories are pure headcanon or interpretation of evidence. You can see interpretations of evidence as valid or well thought even if you don't agree with the said interpretations. Some people might seem to post theories that end up being presented as headcanons but it's completely possible that they are actually very good thought processes that just don't end up to the final text.
If you ask me then the reason garp actually died is because of akainu. I know what you are thinking “why does people always blame others” but when you really think about it then it kinda is akainu’s fault cause if kuzan won the battle against akainu then akainu would not just join the pirates he would try and find any opertunity to destroy them. So in a alternate universe then akainu might have killed black beard. So that was just a thought i had
My future speculation for egghead arc: by 1088 we see luffy is on the news, so probably in egghead arc we can see strawhat ally comming to there aid in future in egghead battle,
i don't think only strawhat can handle the navy + kizaru + a gorosei,
And this may be the reason why narrator said that events on egghead will have a big impact on the world and the impact is possibly bigger than garp imprisonment, since garp being lost is already mentioned in newspaper.we can probably see lot of navy loses and high strawhat noterity by the end of this arc, this is all a speculative theory
You see how each Marine is based off a coloured animal from Oda's childhood or whatever. Like Purple Tiger in Fujitora, Yellow Monkey in Kizaru etc. The next one I believe is the Orange Crab, which some speculate to be Koby's epithet with him getting some sort of orange dfruit. But what if these animals only represent the corruption at the top of the Marines / WG Hierarchy. Perhaps Koby will break the cycle of animals and be known as something else (pink...)
I thought it was the Chinese zodiac ?
It is the zodiac every known code name is a member of the zodiac
Well technically Kuzan is pheasant and it's not in the zodiac
We have pink rabbit and brown pig already along with red dog, yellow monkey, green bull, purple tiger but kuzans doesn't fit into the zodiac for what ever reason 🤔 unless pheasent is rooster ? Edit technically it's an ox not a bull too very similar but there is a difference
There's also a horse so the chinese zodiac is really strong there. Pheasant and bull would be fine appropriations since rooster and ox are domesticated animals.
!theories @boreal skiff interesting thought, but this channel’s for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned) with a good amount of evidence/reasoning. Short ideas like yours (Buggy’s df is another god fruit) would be better received in either #manga or #manga-serious

Pheasant is actually the only change a male is ox is called a Bull
@dire hamlet please keep one-liners like that in #manga
@soft urchin good observation, but this channel’s for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned). Unless you’re willing to write up an extensive theory on the reasoning behind BB’s future goals and how Garp plays into it, please use #manga-serious for shorter thoughts like that. It will be well-received there.
The answer is ”maybe” but these kinds of questions are meant for other manga channels. Thank you
No but it’s probable that he will unlock it, as all signs point to him being as strong as garp by EOS. I strongly suspect that he can be a D member as there are a lot of parallels. Luffy is this generations roger and inherited his will and if BB COULD possibly have inherited rocks will, then someone else would have to be this generations garp and inherit his will. Signs point to Koby and a god valley like incident could unfold in the future. It makes sense that they would fight together rather than against as Luffy and Koby, while marine and pirate, r both friendly towards each other like roger and garp. And it has been foreshadowed since East blue that these two would eventually be in a battle together
With how Blackbeards crew said they wanted to cash in on cross guilds bounty, it is likely that is how the battle will unfold as no way will Luffy let BB be responsible for another family death and Koby won’t sit by if garp is going to be executed, espesically if he feels responsible. BB, collecting all the strongest fruit types, could do this as a way to bait Luffy into an unfair fight to try and take his fruit. I think BB knows it’s a zoan as he definitely knows secrets about the void century and knew about the yami yami no mi when it seemed like no one else did
I made that take, cause often I read theories on here that do not point out evidence based on the manga. Like I am fine with them but when it is like a whole theory based on a vague sentence someone said - it is kinda meh to me and it could go anywhere.
Popular few weeks ago was that Enel´s ship is the weapon of the marines, that can destroy islands but there is literally not a hint or any kind of evidence, that it is related regarding him. If there was an option to point out "Headcannon" before the theory, it would help navigating theories. - Just my hottake here. Sorry for the trouble.
Not to antagonize those theories.

@past parcel not the place for general questions like that. Please ask in #manga or #manga-serious
Ok sorry
I'm almost sure that there's a connection between Nami and Dragon. Kuma was programed by Vegapunk to send her to Weatheria. The same Vegapunk that tried to change the climate of his home island and is good friends with Dragon, the man who can seemingly control the weather. Egghead and Weatheria are connected through being artificial sky islands (partially for Egghead).
All of the Straw Hats mentioned something related to them after the recent Ohara flashback, except for Nami curiously. It would be far from a coincidence if one of the main Straw Hats and the father of Luffy have similar abilities. Could it even tie back into her backstory?
'The D will always cause another storm.'
Nami and Franky's parents are still unknown as both of them were orphans
Uhhhh, i can’t post inages anymore
Had to boost.
Idk if anyone else has already posted these images. I don’t take credit for finding em, but...
Bison bison no mi: mythical model minotaur
J Garcia Saturn, gorosei.
Why would there be a Minotaur zoan
...are you joking?
Several have. But this channel’s for people going over their theories in great detail in text form (like the ones pinned). Could you please go over this theory’s premise and provide all the available evidence/reasoning to support your claim of Saturn having a Minotaur devil fruit in text form?
I'm at work, so super fast.
In the flashback at Marijois, we saw the silhouettes of the Gorosei and their potential devil fruit.
One of them was a bull-shaped horned figure. This caused multiple communities to look at horned references which is where we got that... Strange “where the wild things” theory from.
Eventually, this cover art was rediscovered and this minotaur has the exact same facial scar as Saturn. Oda has foreshadowed many things in his random artwork, most famously Wano and the Kozuki crest years before Momo was even introduced.
That’s about it but... I think this is actually pretty solid considering Oda’s history.
@loud nimbus since you’re moreso doing a prediction on what you hope to see in the arc after Egghead, please use #manga-serious for that kind of stuff since it’s mostly speculative.
Any ideas why Luffy is wearing the number 55 shirt instead of 56, his usual number? Is he going to lose someone?
I actually do have a theory on this, but i’d be stealing this Under Rated youtubers idea.
I’d strongly reccomend watching all these video’s, im not sure how his theories haven’t caught on in the one piece community yet.
His theories are so good that they are actually mind warping. I’m usually a big skeptic but i’ve been sold.
Anyways, i think luffy is going to lose his 3 mentors being, Garp, shanks, and Dragon.
A theory about how Oda set up One Piece so that Luffy met a crewmate or nakama, or lost one, on every island he visited. The 10 man crew line from chapter one was foreshadowing Luffy meeting 10 crewmates in each of the seas he visited.

And to add to that theory the Minotaur in Greek Myhos was trapped in a Labyrinth created by Daedalus a great inventor in that time. So the Minotaur has some connections to a Vegapunk type figure in terms of inventing. And then you have Saturn showing up on Egghead Island. Might be a stretch but some connections there.
can i ask why the theory says that they memtion bb on drum island even tho they met bb at mock town which is canonically after the drum island arc
BB showed up at drum island before the strawhats got there, thats why wapol fled
ik that but in the panel it says luffy heard from a guy he met at a bar that people from snowy regions dont sleep. luffy wasnt there when bb invaded drum island
The theory is trying to relate BB to winter islands in that way. Its not about Luffy knowing something about BB
I think after the egghead incident, Lucci and Kaku might be either done being government agents OR they'll let the Strawhats go
Let? As if they could keep them there lol
Of course, but I mean like not even try
Ah fair enough, I was gonna say they already lost the strength battle right off the rip haha.
Can u share where oda foreshadowed the kozuki crest
lemme search it up
look at luffy's pants/ undergarments, also the pink dragon is Momo before Momo. good color spread, insane foreshadowing
Damn, no kidding. That's actually pretty impressive.
What if Usopp was such a coward during his dressrosa fight because since all his memories of Robin was gone, it set back his character development, because Sogeking was a persona created to rescue Robin. So it would make sense that since she dosent technically exist in his memories, he lost all his courage durin the timeskip
Ok, I'm going to say this theory in a more serious way cuz I just got warned against jokes.
What if the reason the one piece world is as goofy as it is is because of the Nika fruit. Like, alot of the world has cartoon logic (drinking milk to heal bones, or flexing to not be fat, the way many characters look). So what if the world was a serious ship faring world prior to Nika awakening?
The Monkey, Pheasant, and Dog are from a different story, the Tale of Momotaro. The Pig and Rabbit where fan creations that got canonized. Bull and Tiger I dont think have any theming though.
I have a theory that black beard is the new rocks and Hachinosu will be the new god valley and Colby and Luffy will team up like roger and garp to defeat black beard and because history repeats itself instead of kidd or katakuri being the next white beard someone like Jesus Burgess will be the next white beard.
Yes, because once all the islands used to be one, everyone is sleeping on the reason why do everyone in one piece speak the same language, i think all the islands of one piece used to be one and everyone used to speak the same language as well.
What if Blackbeard takes the corpses of Whitebeard, Big mom and Kaido, all with immensely strong bodies, and reanimates them with Moria's Fruit, further making himself similar to Rocks by controlling these behemoths
Also Blackbeard gaining all the devil fruits he have eaten coming from killing someone else reflects Rocks attaining his power, his crew, from davy back fights.
i feel like if the lava did kill them it woulda melted them
@atomic pilot it's an interesting thought. I don't quite understand why you think Ussop being a coward is not the norm of his character with or without Robin. Plus, losing Robin does not negate all the work he did during the timeskip to improve his marksmanship. Sure there'll be a gap when Robin's turned into a toy, but the rest of the people that impacted his life (like Heracles) will still be there in his mind to fill in those gaps and give him that courage. Plus, it's not like Sogeking's skills are different from Ussop's skills, so losing the identity of Sogeking would not hurt his ability to assist the Tontatta Tribe and the people of Dressrosa either. Do you disagree? Do you think Ussop's loss of memory of Robin has led to a critical deficiency in Ussop's abilities as a marksman during the Dressrosa arc?
@tribal sky why do you think awakening powers persist for 800+ years? Luffy's abilities are centered around the "freedom to fight however he fancies" according to Viz's translation of ch1044, not cartoon logic. Granted, there are moment where we see other character's eyes pop out of their sockets in a cartoon-ish way around G5 Luffy, but there are two points to be made here:
- it doesn't persist, it happens for a short time before their eyes return to normal
- it doesn't have far-reaching implications; the entire country of Wano wasn't popping their eyes.
Gear 5 is the Sun God Nika df's awakening. Do you have any evidence that this particular awakening can persist for centuries and have far-reaching implications?
@olive flame interesting thought, but could you please elaborate on why you chose those parallels? What makes Coby/Luffy/Burgess the embodiment of Garp/Roger/Whitebeard? Why would Hachinosu be the next God Valley? Are the events that you think will happen in Hachinosu paralleling what you think happened in God Valley? If so, what do you think it was that happened in God Valley 38 years ago?
@little galleon interesting idea, but could you please explain why/how any of this would be possible? Whitebeard's been buried for 2 years, and BM & Kaido are in Mt Fuji in magma. How is he going to procure these bodies?
Also, based on the recent chapters we know that Moria is alive. Why do you think Blackbeard will have Moria's devil fruit? Do you think Blackbeard has found a way to steal df powers without killing the person? We know (to the best of our knowledge) that Absalom was killed and Shiryu has his df. Or do you think Moria didn't make it out during the Coby rescue operation that was happening at Hachinosu? Keep in mind that Perona made a deal with Coby to free him in exchange that he frees Moria (ch1080).
Please elaborate and provide some details explaining these circumstances and why you think this is all possible.
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. This channel is for serious discussion- please read the channel description. Posts here must be in paragraph form, preferably with evidence, not just a one line open question.
I think that it would be disappointing if Moria was captured by blackbeard... Then just freed again and we aren't sure about exactly how it is blackbeard steals powers, does it have something to do with winner island or was just to confront Law and his devil fruit. Van augur could have warp-warped kaido and big mom'd bodies out of the volcano, or if they spewed out, a random lucky event for blackbeard. And whitebeards body hasnt fully decomposed as well as doc Q possibly being able to patch up their damages. Something funny could be an animation of all of them fused but whatever.
I have to go sleep but here are my quick thoughts on what you've said:
I think that it would be disappointing if Moria was captured by blackbeard... Then just freed again
I disagree. There's a a good deal of benefit to Moria escaping. They may give other parties (SHs, Cross Guild, etc.) insight on BB's future plans and why he asked Moria to join at first.
we aren't sure about exactly how it is blackbeard steals powers, does it have something to do with winner island or was just to confront Law and his devil fruit
You're right, we don't know. But we do know that BB wanted to either sell Law's df or use it for eternal life; he never intended on keeping it and using it for its powers. Also he doesn't need to keep Law alive after he does that. For those reasons, the only data point we have about BB's powers to capture dfs is still Absalom.
Van augur could have warp-warped kaido and big mom'd bodies out of the volcano, or if they spewed out, a random lucky event for blackbeard
There are some theories floating around about Mt Fuji being a volcano whose magma is basically liquid seastone. This comes from Hawking's claim that Wano is the only place to procure seastone and back in Jaya arc we learned that some underwater volcanoes have Pyrobloin, an ingredient that can make seastone. To be fair, this theory is mainly implicit evidence.
Conversely, Van Auger's df may require him to have clear line of sight, which may be possible with CoO. But if it's a lucky random event, I feel like we're just handwaiving.
And whitebeards body hasnt fully decomposed as well as doc Q possibly being able to patch up their damages.
You're right, WB's body wouldn't have decomposed as much as say BM and Kaido. But we're still handwaiving this procurement of bodies.
If BB wants to be the embodiment of Rocks, does he only need those 3? Does he need Wang Zhi or Captain John? He already has the titanic captains so why these bodies too? How does this tie into BB's goal to make a country?
Naah its not his fully df's awakening, it just he is using the fruit how it should be like a zoan user! I believe there is still a "awakening of his devil fruit" whatever it will be, it will be probably Gear 6 and it will appear end of the serie. Or it it's a combination because he makes his enviroment rubber, this looks for me like a df awakening.
If you think this isn't Luffy's full awakening, please do provide evidence/reasoning to support it. Currently we have Kaido saying this is an awakening (ch1045) and Luffy saying that this is his peak (ch1044). He's already doing everything a zoan awakening and a paramecia awakening should do. I think all the evidence points to Gear 5 being his awakening.
Do you have any evidence that it's not his "full" awakening? Are there any other df users you can point to in order to corroborate your points?
I take back what I worte. The only illogical part for me remains the transformation but since the fruit fugues a bit differently and was never really explained, which I hope still happens, I'm excited.
All good man
Yes you’re absolutely right, Zoan transformations don’t make any intuitive sense in Luffy’s context. Several people have made theories on it, but it’s nothing concrete. I’m sure regulars in #manga-serious will have some ideas too. Same, I hope we get more info about it and see Luffy use them soon!
If you scroll up a lil bit, i posted a youtube video by free AZ.
He goes over this.
IMU is the secret weapon Doffy was talking about, the secret weapon itself is immortality, it's implied imu is immortal HEAVILY, and OPE OPE can do that.
Immortality being the ultimate weapon makes sense thematically as one who can live beyond everyone else can ultimately write history however they want
Doffy KNOWS about IMU and knows he's the secret weapon (Foreshadowed a million times in dressrosa) which is why during marineford he had the speech about the victors writing history, an immortal will always be the victor in ancient history cuz he was the only one around back then
- Why would Imu be considered a weapon
- Wouldn't the operation fruit be the weapon then? Why is Imu important
True it is weird they say weapon, but all doffy has said about it is it has the power to change the world, which is exactly what a history writing immortal world ruler would do.
Doffy mentioned the weapon being in the home of the celestial dragons (I cant spell the name xd) and Imu has outlived every person alive in one piece, so in terms of the world Imu is literally a living breathing ancient historical figure which is pretty important for how the world is run
You've pointed out obvious flaws which I appreciate 👍 I think IMU is OBVIOUSLY immortal but the weapon thing is just my own fun lil theory after rewatching dressrosa and all of doflamingos lines
Doubt Imu would just let the fruit that grants immortality go. He had plenty of time to reover it and prevent the knowledge that it bestows immortality from being spread
True, but then why doesn't the WG have the Nika fruit if they clearly know what it does and who had it in the past?
They said people in the past had the gum gum fruit but noone was able to awaken it like luffy did for hundreds of years, which would be the same case for the Ope ope fruit, The ancient user of it probably granted IMU immortality, and then for centuries every person who had the OPE OPE never were able to utilize its secret ability
Yes but the fact that luffy's fruit was a zoan type was concealed. that was not done with the ope fruit. On the other hand it could be that doffy knew about that particular fact due to him being a celestial dragon.
Yea I'm assuming that only the celestial dragons knew about the secret OPE OPE ability (Doffy just snitching to law 💀) similarly to the nika like you said.
But obiously every tiny thing I said could all be wrong by a few more chapters this just my fun lil theory
also I just realized like doffy wanted law to use it on him so bad, but what if Law just DOESNT KNOW how like I doubt thats in the devil fruit manuel
I think during the void century, Lili was on Imu's/the other 19 royal families sides, BUT it was too late.
I think the reason why the 20 families helped establish the WG and THEN only 19 became CDs, is primarily it was too late.
I think during those 100 years the Nefeltaris were in the mix of a war and when Lili came around, she was then able to see the other side, talk and try and make amends....BUT it was too late.
Either she realised what Imu was gonna happen right before the war end or AROUND the war ended, and while her family/her begrudhingly helped create the WG, she wanted no part in this after it was ready and didn't place down her blade.
Because she felt bad or regretted her/her familiy's choices, she gathered a group together to start the D Clan, or what was before the D-clan....BUT what may have ended up happening is, she got killed
And so in rememberance of Nefeltati D. Lili, her followers adopted the Initial D, to carry on the Will of D, the Will of Nefeltari D Lili and the will of the Dawn, the Dawn of the new era.
I don't think the D was directly from Joyboy, but perhaps Lili knew or found out about Joyboy and wanted to free people and bring them joy just like him
One thing that's still very unclear is what happened to her: the obvious answer would be to say Imu had her erased from history but they genuinely seemed not too know at all what has happened to her when speaking with Cobra
I like the theory, but don't you think that his three mentors would be Garp, Shanks, and Rayleigh? Dragon has never really been in Luffy's life from what we know.
!theories @balmy patrol not the place for one-line remarks like that. If you have a theory on Bogard, please go in detail and provide the necessary evidence/reasoning to support it. Else, please use #manga next time

Rayleigh’s time is already over and Dragon, just... Has to be significant in the final saga. Akainu absolutely despises him for some reason and they are around the same age and have history.
Also I definitely miss-spoke, by mentor I mean the mentors of the next generation.
The theory is that BB and Luffy’s crews will actually be about 30 people each by the end of the story (yes I know that sounds crazy but there is a shocking amount of evidence)
The new generation being:
Shanks -> Luffy
Dragon -> sabo
Garp -> kobe
Before laughtale and the final war there has to be a number of “culmination events” that lead to a number of people ending up with the BB pirates and on the 1000 Sunny.
I think the “egg head incident” is going to be the first culmination event that leads to a bunch of dominoes falling and everyone coalescing together.

Fully awakend and fully utilized might be different things here. When I think of fully utilized awakend fruits I think of punk hazard. An entire island who's entire weather and geography where changed by the power of devil fruits. So, is Luffy awakend? Yes, absolutely. Is he using the Nika fruit to its fullest potential? I don't think so yet. I'm waiting for him to start disappearing behind polls, pull giant hammers out of his pocket, and some one is gonna cut his head off for him to just play with it.
That being said, it does have subconscious AOE affects. The whole straw hat crew can drink milk to fic and regrow bones andeveryone's eyes bulge out (and it confuses everyone.
Do you guys believe me that Prime Bogard gave Prime Rayleigh his scars
it makes sense time period wise it makes sense Bogard is one of the Noteable swordsmen Rayleigh could've fought and it cant be Marco highly unlikely especially at his face as marco could barely do anything to prime rayleigh at the time. And it cant be mihawk because Mihawk would've been a child by then. And Bogard has been with Garp for 27+ years (and he's a vice admiral at the time 27 years ago) and there not that much swordsmen at that time that would've give Rayleigh the scar he has. (it cant be vista as I just dont see it)
We always see him with a scar when he was younger and considering how Garp has always fought with the roger pirate's. We can assume that Bogard gave him the scar As Bogard is a master swordsmen. and likely if he fits in the timeline they could have a mihawk and shanks like relationship. And Garp laugh's at weakness and yet he keeps Bogard around as his right hand man and traveled across the Grand line for 30+ years. And past his prime he was training both helmeppo and Koby along with Garp and Koby in the recent chapters did this with likely CC
Got a cool idea from youtuber Dawn & Dusk who pointed out that Sorbet Kingdom starts with the same characters used for sun (in a similar way to Lunaria which is likely connected to the moon: https://i.gyazo.com/6972e8c057d1c896e08073f93b813047.png)
What if Kuma (as the previous ruler of Sorbet) had access to ancient texts the same way King Cobra from Alabasta did? Kuma's bible depicts a figure in front of the sun with wings (also interesting that the bottom-right corner of the image has upwards-shaped wings while the rest of them are downwards which seems to line up with the wall paintings in Enel's cover-story depicting 3 types of winged races: https://i.gyazo.com/bb26074221ff365312c463571fe8b7fe.jpg)
Could this bible or Sorbet Kingdom's past be linked to why Kuma rescued the strawhats and protected their ship?
Zoro is the eternal logpose to laughtale.Hes always getting lost bcs he's unintentionally travelling to logpose
ok, as someone who has just caught up with fishman
after seeing how noah is so big, and later in the series we see a giant strawhat, it's blatantly obvious that the strawhat belongs to joyboy... if you think otherwise you're just dumb. joyboy is obviously a giant
this might be obvious too, idk. im just late to the party
i think the next step in laws story is meeting dragon. there’s a lot of things that connect them especially with how law is a member of the d. clan, and the topics that were brought up in the meetings of the revolutionaries
law rn has escaped with bepo meaning they can end up at any island, and if law here narratively is shown to lose as a competitor for being the PK/one piece, then everything related to the checkered fate, how he wants to discover true history, the meaning of his name is the only thing left relevant about him.
the significance of the ope ope obviously can’t be looked past, this panel + eternal life surgery is enough
a Law & Dragon meeting would be 🔥
I think luffy will be sick. Just like roger
He got Ivankovs boost and it took some of his life away
i believe it was 10 years
He might have limited time to live when the strawhats go through the grandline again in search for the actual one piece after they gather all the poneglyphs

@pure raven please use #manga or #manga-serious for open-ended questions like the one you asked about Saturn.
@grizzled elm could you please elaborate? Why do you think that Luffy’s boost from Ivankov, a founder of the Revolutionary Army, would lead to Roger’s sickness? What’s the connection here? More importantly, is there any in-story evidence to support it?
@kind wind no, I think there’s merit to that. But since this channel’s for in-depth theories (like the ones pinned), I encourage you to bring it up in #manga-serious where you and others can speculate on why that may be the case for Dragon.
@noble hollow you’re welcome to pose that question in #manga . This channel’s for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned).

How so ?
To be fair gear 2 also chips away at luffy's lifespan so he's been gunning for a while
Gear 2 doesn’t chip, it’s constantly disproven here
I must've gotten my sources mixed up 😅
Am I allowed to sort of counter or rather critisice theories in here? I would provide evidence regarding chapters and conversations.
i don't know if it's a common theory but i believe roger was not actually sick, he just let marines kill him so that people get out to sea and joy boy could start his journey. he probably knew about the joy boy's year as oden's wife
I feel like there is a lot of headcanon in here. There is no real evidence that Roger was not sick. There is also no real indication what "Joyboy" really is, tied to the Nika-DF or just a person. How would Roger know that he is not Joyboy how would he know that killing himself would be the solution?
Yeah as long as you're not rude about it you're fine
I do enjoy theories, I am not reacting to every single one but I am going to be respectful. I have no intention to cause a bad vibe.
his meeting with rayleigh first time, he's so sure about that's gonna happen and also calls their meeting destiny. he also probably knew about the hat all along
it's so obvious roger was informed in some way about all of this, all along. not all the story since he decided to go laugh tale
@muted valley not the place for short one-liners like that. If you have a theory, please present your evidence/reasoning. This channel's for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned), so there's an expectation on some sort of elaboration.
@hexed matrix I don't understand what you're saying. What is Joyboy's story exactly and why do you think it's covered in Water 7? This channel's for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned), so there's an expectation on some sort of elaboration. Please feel free to repost your theory once you've assembled the evidence around it.
@pure raven it depends. If your purpose is to negate a popular theory (Blackbeard has 3 personalities), then you can spin that into a theory of its own. But if it's a criticism on a particular interpretation of the story, then #manga-serious may be a better place for it. Pushing back on a theory posted here is always fine as long as it's an argument on the merits.
@oblique sequoia You're saying he's not sick even though it's been stated multiple times he's sick by Crocus, Rayleigh, and Roger himself? I somewhat agree that he chose to die at the hands of the marines so that his death has the most impact. But that's not because he was faking his illness. Do you have any in-story evidence/reasoning that proves these characters were lying?
That is just a titbit of information. This is still headcanon. Can you provide like chapters that solidify your argumentation.
I try to do my best to split between theory and manga-serious. Just feel like, if a theory in here is posted, that lacks evidence it is better to just talk about it in here, instead on moving it to another channel.
I also have no intention to be disrespectful.
I do not try to like discourage you from your theories @oblique sequoia . I have no malicious intent, it is just more of critique and als to understand theories better. Nobody is perfect, and I am sure I have forgotten about certain panels in years, and want to dive as much into lore as anyone else.
i can't provide solid evidence, it was just a feeling from character read and was curious about how other readers feel about it, wanted to do brainstorming. crocus and rayleigh would play along with him about this. not a lie, but misinformation to hide the truth since his death is less important that making joy boy come out. i tried the manga channel to ask about this to hear some ideas but that channel is so fast you cant even talk properly. roger's first meet rayleigh, he is so confident, so sure about that's gonna happen, calling "turning world upside down". i mean if it was for another IP i would say who knows. but this is Oda and we all know how he tricks readers. he met with rayleigh and decided to go for laugh tale yeeeaaaars after. anyway, sorry for not complying channel rules. i will try my chance in another place
Yeah that's totally fine, feel free to interact with the theories you see however you like. Just know that sometimes we may interrupt the discussion and ask it be moved elsewhere if it isn't well-rooted enough.
Totally fine, going with like headcanon. I was arguing in this forum before, that there is a difference between like headcanon and like evidence, panel based. A lot of theories, that are based on chapters, refering to multiple dialogues from past to present, are more close to the present, than the future.
It is not like against theories, but if there are a lot of gaps you have to fill with headcanon, the theory might just break apart easily.
A lot of headcanon theories, look into the vast future and being in the theory community for a long while, like 99+ % of it is not going to happen. I have seen a lot of theory channels, on YT and so on, come and go.
There was just another conversation about the possibility if a character telling an important story bit, was actually lying. This doesn't happen in well written literature when the whole purpose is to tell something to the audience.
"Roger was terminally ill -> he decided to capitalize on his death to kickstart the Great Age of Piracy. "
This is a really solid character moment that gives the reader an explanation why Roger was caught.
"Roger was lying to his crew about being terminally ill so he could capitalize on his capture to infuence the great age of piracy"
This doesn't make any sense, why would he lie to his crew about his plans, why would Oda lie to readers about Roger being sick? From a writing perspective it's just bad writing and from a character perspective, there's simply a too high risk and reward to die on purpose to send a message while at the same time he could've made a much greater scheme how to prepare for the prophecies if he actually had the time.
^
Would like to add the reason he gave himself up to the marines was because he didnt want his crew to suffer after his death. He was practically among the strongest & could take on anything . But as a captain he had to take steps to ensure their safety in his absence. So he disbands the crew. And once Ace was conceived, now if he gets caught & Rouge is found, the unborn Ace would also suffer. He was sick and it would be hard for him to keep up appearances or that much precautions.
Oh whoops sorry for the ping, I forgot to turn it off
It’s fine, don’t worry

another one piece theory: its been refered to many times in the series that luffy acts exactly like roger however some people also say that he is the reincarnation of joyboy which could be true but he could also be the reincarnation of roger so hear me out since we dont know joyboys exact personality or traits we dont know what he was truly like but we do know that luffy acts like roger so it is possible that roger couldve been the reincarnation of joyboy and then luffy is the reincarnation of roger
joyboy is most likely not the previous user of the hito hito no mi:model nika bcs we just dont have enough evidence except for that luffy is most likely the reincarnation of joyboy and it would make sense for joboy to be an incredibly powerful haki user and perhaps even the creator or the discoverer of haki and the reason i say that joyboy didnt use this fruit sepcifically is bcs joyboy has never been refered to as a, "god" or sungod and his epiphet and name is joyboy however it is not something like , "nika" or sungod
A theory by Firegod13244^
I feel like Blackbeard will steal Luffy's devil fruit after finding out its value. This is because Blackbeard has been chasing fruits like those. Not only that but I think if Blackbeard succeeds, he will get sick and die a tragic death before he reaches laughtale while fighting Luffy (this theory branches on the devil fruit user gets sick near Raftel theory)
I am wondering how oda sensei came up with the name laugh tale
i think (non jap speaker) it might be another wordplay on English words: tale = tail.
I would be in awe if the final island (not lode star) is a moving island similar to Zou. As you need for both Islands aids to reach them. (zou: eternal lockport, vivre card, laugh tale = road porneglyph; "lode" might also be another word play to "rode/road")
So, i was thinking that "laugh tale" might refer to a moving island actually called "laugh tail"; as part of a creatures tail, like a giant whale.
And the road porneglyphs describe the way to summon that particular whale.
yea there was a popular one piece is inside a whale theory.
man how heartbreaking would it be if we also only see the strawhats laugh and are left to imagine the one piece forever
I think that a "kingdom of the sun" will be the name of the ancient kingdom or something more similar to that, and the island of Laugh Tale is going to be a place where the presense of that ancient kingdom hasn't been erased and is on full display, only it's nearly impossible to get to which is why Roger was the only one to thus far do it. I think the Lunarians are a "lost" tribe of people similar to Skypeians, who might have been a "lesser" form of them, as the Lunarians fire is pretty busted ability that none of the other skypeians have. As far as Kuma's access to knowledge, I think his time with the revolutionaries like granted him more knowledge than anything he might have learned in a medium/small sized kingdom in South Blue.
I watched that video and was surprised at how many valid points it had. If there was a whale at the end of the grandline, probably a great white whale in a similar vein to moby dick, where it sleeps underwater could be the location of the final island, but unfortunately for us, despite HAVING them in their possession, Robin aka Oda have not decided to have her translate them outloud for us. She knows what they say, she/Oda could write it down and literally spell it out for us, but she/he is waiting for the final poneglyph for the archaeologist to vocally piece it all together and reveal the mystery to us.
i think robin saying it to luffy, without actually finding the fourth is on the same vein as reighleh telling them the location. To luffy the adventure is just as important to him as the treasure itself.
I know, except she has found that information WITH him along the way, so Idk why it would offend him or seem like cheating; they already earned that info while sailing together. And, narratively, she could talk about it with smarter/more informed members of the crew, like Jinbe, Zoro, Sanji, and Franky to get their take on maybe what the words mean (if cryptic or a riddle or something), or to discuss what to do next. It can be done in a way that gives us the info without Luffy getting it, but I think Oda's point is to make us get it only when Luffy does.
i think robin will only function as a translator to the rio poneglyph. It would be all of the crew making sense of it.
I think robin read about pluton in Wano ,asked luffy about whether he wanted it, he didn't care, so she doesn't either.
Well she HAS to translate the four road glyphs to make it all make sense anyway, and we currently have THREE in their possession, so technically, I am saying that that translation could come any time. But I believe Oda will wait for the 4th to be attained before doing ANY of them.
i think you have to put all together somehow to form the rio poneglyph
Also Oda is very stingy of people finding out on their own what he has in store. Robin revealing stuff could lead to more accurate predictions of what the onepiece or where it is , which he wouldn't want
I've had this argument all over the internet, but I firmly believe that Big Mom and Kaido are NOT dead. Narratively, they're down and out and won't be major players in the future (maybe minor, but no longer threats), but so many other people have been narratively defeated and returned via........ COVER STORIES. Oda conveniently drew a volcano for seemingly no reason, while also drawing a diagram showing where Big Mom and Kaido were in relation to that volcano for seemingly no reason. Then he drew that volcano going off with many people saying "the explosion marked the end of the arc or era" which is an ok but not great explanation, when I think it was literally to blast the two former Yonkou out of the earth and send them flying somewhere. Big Mom's ship was still around Wano somewhere so her crew could very well find her, but the fact that Oda drew a literaly DIAGRAM is solid enough for me, because from a narrative persepect it was a pointless inclusion unless it was done as a means to get them out of the mantle of the earth. I think in 2024, we will get a cover story with the two. Linlin had amnesia once already, maybe it's back. Maybe Kaido has it too. Maybe they find each other familiar and weirdly fall in love and settle down somewhere, ignorant of their names or pasts. That's all DEEP theory but if ANYTHING like it happens, I'll be the guy that said it on the internet
I mean the information has to come at some point, we're nearing the end
That's what I mean. It could happen at the end of Egghead. It could happen on Elbaf if we go there. It could happen somewhere else entirely. It might not happen until Load Star for all we know. And I suspect that Load Star is actually supposed to be Road Star, what with Road Poneglpyhs being a thing
I thought there was no point to lodestar if you already knew about the road poneglyphs
Naw, it's probably some launching off point for the final island.
I thought of that as a nod to the power of pluton or whatever is hidden in wano. Also a nod to the destructive power of Akainu magma fruit.
Realistically I think it was Oda's plan to add Big mom to elbaf , but probably figured it would take too long and added her to Wano. That's why i think even if they are dead/alive their wouldn't be any major significance to the story. Also why we see a very big power jump for Law who couldn't defeat doflamingo 2 weeks back.
Big mom could come back , but Kaido can't be back without going to bust out King out of prison (since aramaki caught them). This would take too long.
Like a location you have to go and need to have at least the text of the poneglpyhs or knowledge of it to solve some puzzle or something of that nature maybe. I'm going to guess that is going to be where the final yonkou v yonkou fight happens against blackbeard if the story goes that way; as he is going to take one from law.
I forget where I heard it but I could have sworn the purpose of lodestar was tell arrivers this isnt actually the final island and you can find it via red poneglyphs
I guess it could also be a lunching point when you do find those 4
I mean those are reaching. There's no evidence that lava powers pluton, and if it did, the whole island itself is on a magmatic hot spot and so there might be other ways to harness it, but I don't see a correlation there. And giving Akainu a place to power up near and island we've already gone to and left doesn't sit too narratively well with me. I could postulate on how it COULD happen and why, but don't think it will. And I agree with the lack of significance to their life; just like when Gedatsu got a cover story and we never saw him again. We've had nonimportant cover stories that set up bits of lore for later too, like Wapol. He was beaten, but he is still a character and involved, like BM and Kaido could be beaten but still have some part to play in some capacity. Either way, their role in the story, significant or not, would still have capacity to continue in whatever way Oda wanted it to. If he wants them to settle down and live alone together, we might never see them again and that's fine. If he wants to set up how they get out of the mess and then show them reuniting with BM's crew, they might play a roll later (like Wapol and CP9, or potentially Enel in the future). Either way, the volcano doesn't need to be symbolic because we already had plenty of symbolic actions and gestures in the arc as a whole; it can be a literal device to get them out of the mantle
We were shown when they reach the island, they all laugh. And tale means story.
I've been of the opinion that on the laugh tale, Roger left his treasure beside some form of ancient documentary in the form of an amusing story, that talks about the rise of dawn with a person who was called joyboy. Quite possibly written by someone who admired and liked joyboy a lot which made him write it into an amusing tale instead of merely a story of what happened. Kinda like how Oden wrote his journal.
Out of context but this als brings me to the idea that the relationship between kozuki clan and the joyboy was that of a story keeper and, well, the story "maker". That would also explain how they were able to write poneglyphs so brilliantly and spread them around the world. As if they sensed something joyboy said were his last words for whatever reason and they had to ensure hi story reaches around and this was the only method they could think of
It could but Imu has a sword in their garden that is more likely to be that 20th. This being said, it'd be interesting to find out whether Lili had put her kingdom's sword down before leaving
I don't think the crew are going to be fighting saturn when shows up on egghead but instead they are going to talk to each other about something that won't be revealed to us until later
Also i think that when the strawhats fight the Blackbeard pirates that they will each take a risk or do something that shows just how far they are willing to go to make sure that they can not only achieve their dreams but also make Luffy the king of the pirates, for example Luffy losing an eye, and Sanji having to hurt Devon
Though I think any risk they take would end up working out in the end except for Luffy giving up his eye
but how and why, there is no indication or reason for the fruit to do that lol
now i think that the god knight we saw forgot his name is rock's father and shanks is rock's son
Ok I only just thought of this so I have zero clue weather it's already a known theory or if it's debunked or something but we all know the theory that devil fruit users can't go to laugh take because of the oden flashback. But obviously Luffy is gonna go there. So what if it isn't devil fruit users but rather weak minded people/people without haki. Possibly conq Haki? Si CE you're born with it the island would recognize shanks as possessing the ability to harness and master that in the future and thus he didn't get sick? We know objects can eat devil fruits but what if the island somehow like has joy boys will or something and has a shanks like aura around it, turning weak minded people sick? Idk if this is dumb but I thought it might be interesting?
I think Saturn is trying to kidnap Luffy to stop the revolutionary from disclosing info about imu
!theories
Since this channel is for long in-depth theories (like the ones pinned), could you guys please elaborate and provide some in-story evidence/reasoning to support your ideas? Else, you can continue this discussion in #manga or #manga-serious
@regal flare According to ch1078, Saturn is on his way to see that Egghead is destroyed and the Vegapunks are killed. The Straw Hats were an unexpected variable in their plans. Why would he risk the operation by kidnapping Luffy when the WG’s is looking to destroy everything in Egghead?
@twilit anvil BM was 30 year old at the time of God Valley. Could you provide some sort of timeline that explains Rock’s age at the time and how/why a D clan member is related to a Celestial Dragon like Garling (the God’s Knights’ leader from ch1086)?
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. i think its unlikely since shanks found uta similarly to how roger found shanks, and since we know uta is either the daughter or granddaughter of figarland, it doesnt make sense for shanks to have stolen the treasure of his own relative .
I swear this is a serious theory
What if Rox D Xebec was a Buggy the Clown type character
Who just failed upward and somehow managed to have 3 future yonkou alongside other wicked strong in their crew, simply because it was convenient for the stronger members of the crew
In the same way Buggy is being credited for being the big bad boss of Crocodile and Mihawk, even though they’re only sticking alongside him for their convenience.
Also, its pretty much confirmed that Roger picked up Shanks at God Valley as a baby, since Shank’s father was the former God Valley king. But, who else joined the crew around that same time? Buggy did. Perhaps Roger picked up both Xebec’s kid and Shanks after the God Valley incident
In the same way Oda has set up Buggy as a huge player in the world in the One Piece universe, even though he hasn’t done anything, Oda could parallel this by setting up Rox as a huge player in the world for the audience, even though we basically have no idea what he’s done
Would garp/sengoku impression of him also be mistaken or deliberate lies in that case? Do whitebeard or big mom ever talk about rocks?
i mean, from what I can see, what we know is that mostly the former Rox crewmates didn't like him, and that Garp doesn't really like talking about the circumstances of God Valley/Rox
Lifted straight from the wiki: "Despite being the captain of the crew, Rocks was not respected at all among his subordinates.[1] Rocks' former subordinate, Charlotte Linlin, considered him to be untrustworthy and "good-for-nothing",[3] and Whitebeard mentions having bad experiences with him and his crew.[4"
and
"That said, Garp is not fond of recounting this story despite its role in solidifying his reputation as a hero, since it involved him allying with a pirate and the fact that the World Government had suppressed the late pirate king's involvement"
(I remember reading these panels but I don't really feel like combing through panels and chapters to find them)
The obvious counterpoint to all this is pointing out Xebec's connection to blackbeard, how they were both viewed as anarchists, how they both called Pirate Island their base, how they both are D clan members, how Blackbeard's ship is named Sword of Xebec, etc etc.
But, this is One Piece. Oda's story implications never quite end up like we expect them to be. It could very well be the case that Blackbeard takes after Xebec, but it could also be that he takes after the idea of what Xebec was supposed to be, instead of what he actually was (or some other twist that creates more nuance to their relationship)
As well as this, if Xebec is supposed to be a direct parallel to Blackbeard, then Big Mom's and Whitebeard's description of Xebec don't make any sense. Blackbeard is liked by his crew, and although Blackbeard backstabs other people outside their crew, every story beat and interaction with his crew and Blackbeard indicates that his crew trust and respect him to, at the very least, serve their interests, and be a valuable member of the crew (which makes sense, as Blackbeard is also supposed to be the equal opposite of Luffy, shown through Blackbeard's introductory chapter)
well I think he's liked by the original 4 but not necessarily the impel down invitees and aokiji
However, Big Mom's and Whitebeard's descriptions of Xebec would match perfectly with, say, how someone like Mihawk and Crocodile would describe Buggy
i mean im not fully "caught up" with one piece (i have skipped around) but i know that moria went to black beards island and supposedly got captured. i think (hope) that we will get to see some real good use of that fruit bc under the right circumstances it can be op (from what i know) idk who would use it but i believe thats what is going to happen
unless figured out how to also multi fruit crewmates i think they all have a revealed fruit by now
What is remarkable in all of luffy's fights, is that luffy always needs a power up
Example: luffy vs croc he lost twice
Luffy vs kaido lost 3 times?
Luffy vs Lucci lost once
And he's always come up with something to counter attack
Well as when luffy unlocked gear 5 its said quote "he finally reaches his peak" or smth well when he fights black beard it is theorized that black beard has an alter ego and if this theory is true luffy might also have one
Explanation: when zunesha was at wano and luffy awakened gear 5, zunesha stated that "joy boy has returned" luffy's alter ego could be Joyboy or even The sun God Nika
The Marines will taste defeat. We have 100 battleships, a Marine Admiral and an old man heading their way. What are they up against? The worlds most ridiculous devil fruit powers, one of the strongest pirate crews that have ever existed which is the straw hats, a representative of the Black Beard Pirates, the entire force of the technical wonder of egghead island and its defenses and potentially more! On paper this might seem like a straight forward fight that the marines have no chance of losing. I’m here to say the opposite. Many people have compared egghead to the likes of Marineford. I agree with this. You have a target, Vegapunk, that the marines are targeting to recover/kill, similar to Whitebeard trying to recover ace. You have a well fortified base that has clear defense and other advance technology with the brain washed Sea Kings, just like Marinefords walls. The difference is the rolls are flipped. However the result will inevitably be the defenders win. The Marines will be receiving the L. Assuming no one else shows up, for example the entire Straw Hat Fleet, Zunesha or Even Bonney’s crew, the Marines still need to fight against overwhelming defense that we saw on display. Even the Sunny, potentially the worlds greatest ship, had no chance against them. What will happen when a run of the mill battleship enters these waters? Why would anything but exactly the same thing be put on display. I suspect this will wipe out a majority of the forces. These pawns where always sacrificial. They where intended always for Vegapunk alone, and the Marines arnt one’s to go in unprepared, even if they take massive losses left and right. Then we have Kizaru. Potentially a massive force, but a man who has never succeeded at a single task. He failed to capture a single one of the worst generation on Sabaody, he failed to kill Luffy or Sink Laws Sub and he never even attempted for the fleet admiral position. Many say he hasn’t “gone all out” but that’s clearly headcanon.
We have one of the five elders. A force most likely to be reckoned with. But to think that this force would be able to capture our main antagonist so easily at the end is foolish at best. All five of them and Imu didn’t have the ability to capture Sabo alone. I suspect because of him, they will get their seraphim back. But that will be the only saving grace of this arch for the marines. He will be too preoccupied with this to be able to focus on more. Leaving the Straw hat the opportunity to shine, and also get away.
They will defeat a Marine Admiral, their battleships will be left in ruin, and the Five Elders powers will be on display to only end up with tragic loss. It’s gonna be a bad day for the Marines.
I think strawhats will win as well. Too late in the game to lose and be split up again but too soon for this to be the final confrontation with wg. So a straw hat victory that gets the wg zealously after them for revenge kinda sets up a cleaner timeline of final events
I think the World Government will pose a much larger threat than the Marines ever did. There is most likely a good reason why no one is allowed to go against them
Are there any forces unique to wg (not marines) other than holy knights and elders themselves?
CP0. But that’s more of a collab I guess
They're already mostly subdued at egghead but im sure at least one will break free at some point during the siege to cause problems
Dragon did say that once the Holy Knights got involved that would be the start of the real war. So that might be all they need including their crazy strong weapons of mass destruction
I have a thought that maybe Kuzan froze Garp's wound from shiryu and secretly saved his life
Is it possible that blackbeard could be some kind of clone/satellite hybrid
Its stated that people from winter islands never sleep, which is what vegapunk hails from. And blackbeard has been stated to have never slept in his life.
With the egghead arc introducing clones and vegapunks satellites, which handles each of his bodies aspects like sleep, and eating. is it possible that could be the secret behind his not having to sleep?
It could even be taken a step further and could be the reason his body can house two devil fruit abilities.
We still have no idea of what his connection to rocks is and why his ship is called the saber of xebek, this could be a key factor linking the two.
is there any info on his life before asking to join wb crew as a child?
all we have to go on is the instance when he first joins wbs crew, and a drawing of him as a child crying beneath the moon in the credits of film z.
Which could solidify him as someone who never sleeps
Spoilers ch 1074. Don´t really know if I am right here for this question but in Chapter 1074 we have this big bubble of Kumas memory's and I wondered if it could happen that Luffy accidently could bumb into that and know about Zoros sacrifice on Thriller Bark? Don't know if I would even like that since I don´t see the point of a reveal. Just wanted to know if that possibility is there.
Maybe, could be. The only reason they might not be in there is if the memories were extracted before thriller bark? When bonnie views the memory theyre from a long time ago in his childhood I think
That's a cool idea but this is a channel meant for long, in-depth theories only as per channel description. What if questions are supposed to go into the other manga channels. To distill your idea, I'd recommend thinking about questions: "Would Luffy care?" and "How would this revelation serve the story?"
Sorry, Thanks for clarifying that.
I think the entire point of the “nothing happened” scene is that no one besides Sanji needed to know what actually happened. Nothing would really change for the better writing wise if luffy found out
Would be an easy delivery tho lmao
i agree with that one
I have a theory where Edward Weevil aka Whitebeard Jr will escape Eneis Lobby through whatever miracle or help he gets, and here he will gain either a major power boost or a glow up similar to Mysgaurd before he died. Oda himself has confirmed that he has been experimenting with an Eneis Lobby break in 2 and that he is also excited for what is to come forward with Edward weevil. With the latest appearance being that he gets arrested after saving some towns people, we can start to see him gain a will of his own apart from being controlled and used by his mother. Also Marcos stated that he would protect sphinx island so for Edward to be there protecting the towns people after Marcos had left to help the straw hats must mean that they had arranged something to some extent and more importantly that they trust each other, maybe we will see Edward Weevil team up with Marcos, the Straw hats or maybe even the Cross guild as they help accomplish his dream of defeating blackbeard.
@spark violet I really like this idea alot. Weevil has been a very random character that's been really hard to guess what oda has planned for him I mean he was a war lord for like five seconds lol pretty much just so oda could introduce him
I like the idea of buggy returning to impel down to lead a second prison break then making a mad dash for laugh tale. would be a nice way to get the cross guild into the thick of things, havent heard from them for a while
It would be a good way of getting bon clay to the final battle along with doffy
I have a theory that luffy might be able to replicate other devil fruit abilities in gear 5
I believe Wano will be struck with Imu's weapon next
I feel like blackbeard could awaken his df and it be revealed that the Yami Yami no Mi actually hosts the moon god, ik its not said in skypiea to be a god that they worship, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist entirely.
It kind of makes sense for blackbeard to host the moon god, since he is a direct rival of luffy, the sun god, seeming to have ambitions to take over the world where as luffy just wants to be king of the pirates, similarly to roger and xebec.
its kind of silly but its something that I just thought about
Luffy's dream is beyond that of king of the pirates. He seems to need to be it to achieve his dream. So he does have more ambition than just that.
Dunno if anyone here has theorized this, but I have a theory that Sanji is actually Lunarian or at the very least has been imbued with Lunarian DNA when Judge experimented on him. And to go a step further, all his siblings may have been spliced with Lunarian DNA but they were able to unlock their tough bodies first before while sanji was able to unlock his fire producing capabilities first and only in wano did he unlock his tough body.
i know his dream is more than just king of the pirates. rogers probably was too, but since he wasn't the reincarnation of joyboy he was unable to fullfil that dream
I feel that it would be more space or void related
The profecy of the Sun God Nika will take place as the final war
One side a fleet of pirates, revolutionaries led my Luffy because of his fruit Sun God Nika the liberator of slaves and the drums of liberation will be played as they raid Marie Goi while the world government and the marines try to stop them
The result of the war will be the destruction of the red line giving birth to the all blue
dang, dat actually makes sense
Bro spittin fr
Stop yall making me blush 🤗🤗
you could expand on this theory with
as they raid Marie Goi
could expand into luffy learning of garps passing (if he does) and teaming up with sword and the revolutionaries
We spit nothing but heat here 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
theory dragon being watching luffy ever since luffy left the goa kingdom
Amazing
Theory laftale wont let devil fruit users in the island
Reason
-When roger when to laftale buggy and someone else(forgot name) got sick and they were both devil fruit users
Toki got sick as well. This is common theory now. I think possibly unawakened fruits will get sick possibly
I thought only buggy was sick and Shanks stayed behind to take care of him. Am I misremembering?
Yeah buggy and toki both got sick, this is a popular theory but do we really think there was no one else on rogers crew with a devil fruit?
Saw a theory today about Blackbeard and whitebeards’ fruits being the moon and earth gods respectively which is why he has been after Luffy from the jump. He’s been trying to acquire the three god fruits, probably to bring about some end of the world type biz that has to do with the will of D that only he knows about somehow. It’s been over a thousand chapters and there’s still so much we don’t fkn know 😭
Well we know luffy and dragon are in completely different places for a lot of the story
Wait I saw on yt that black beard is like three diff person
Is that y he got 2 devil
And if so, can he eat a third?
The theory is that BB has three souls in him and that’s why he can control multiple devilfruit. The number three comes from things like his jolly Rodger having three skulls, him carrying three pistols, and differences in his attitude/character. Nothings been confirmed as far as I know but I really like the theory that Blackbeard went to Drum island in order to have Walpole combine him and his two brothers using his Munch Munch Fruit powers like he did with his henchmen when fighting the straw hats on drum island. It used to be super wacky but now Walpole is kind of an important character again after the newest few chapters of the manga
Do y’all reckon Imu could be related to Luffy in any way
Using anime logic, probably? 🤷♀️
Are all the W theories pinned?
family tree wise?
Xebec being related to Luffy makes much more sense tbf
If u think abt it, Xebec assembled one of, if not the most powerful pirate crew. Rocks crew had the most powerful man (Edward) worlds strongest beast (Kaido), big mom. In Luffys crew, he's carrying the world's strongest swordsman (Zoro), A prince (Sanji), the world's most dangerous woman (Robin), First son of the sea (Jinbei), etc. My point is, Luffys eye for crewmates were inherited from Rocks
we already know his lineage in the time rocks was alive (garp)
Oh
Yeah unpopular opinion I think Imu could be luffys mum Oda has said that we have see luffys mum in the anime
wasnt that before imu was even shown ?
Yeah it was but don't you think that Imu being luffys mother would be very poor writing. And Dragon being unaware also makes it look forced and weird
either or its silly and not a good theory
Fishman are gonna migrate to goa kingdom
Did he really say that? Where tho because it's for sure corcadile than.I think Imu could have possession powers where they can transfer there will and mind
I’m pretty sure he did say it in a sbs but I may be wrong
luffy will hold Saturn hostage and blackbeard will use this to request a hostage trade between garp and Saturn. This could likely be sabotaged by marines (eg. Akainu)
Perosnailiy I think black beard is going for the elder once he knows he's there
how long have you watched one piece do you really think luffy can hold anyone hostage
lmfaoo cook
just though about something.
we know shanks has observation haki out the mf wazoo and can see for a pretty good time into the future
we also know that blackbeard gave shanks his scar on his eye
when shanks met with whitebeard, he told him that his scar from blackbeard hurt the most.
what if this is foreshadowing that blackbeard will be a prominent opponent for shanks in the future? what if blackbeard can somehow have a different reality to what shanks foresees ?
OR blackbeard too is able to negate others' observation haki
Is there like a general theories channel? I'm curious about chopper potentially having a model wendigo fruit
It's certainly based on appearance wise in some aspects but it's lacking the real core of the wendigo which is cannibalism and insatiable hunger chopper has never shown either of those things
That's a great point. I guess like... how much does a fruit influence that though? Can't think of any zoan users that distinctly acted like their fruits.
Most zoans don’t have as well defined traits as something like a wendigo I’d argue
You could make a stronger case for big mom being a wendigoo than chopper honestly
You can brainstorm ideas like that in #manga-serious and then post your final theory here

What if the One Piece is actually an afro? With laughs being as prominent as they are, it would make sense that Roger and the others would laugh at the One Piece, since laughter is what brings them together and something soooo out of the vein of what you'd expect treasure to be would be enough to warrant laughter.
Plus, Luffy is loved because he DOES bring people together, and he also has an obsession with afros.
Couple that with LRLL being a rather sus place with too many theories about the Joy Boy, and I wouldn't be surprised if the One Piece ends up being an afro. Laughs is the uniting thread in One Piece characters, and Blackbeard's starts with Zehahaha, meaning he will be the final antagonist before Luffy obtains the One Piece.
now we know that but if dragon has the powers of wind cant he use his wind powers to travel to goa kingdom
he can use the wind's powers + observation haki to
and also he might have a really strong sense of observation haki to sense when luffy is in trouble? cause the only time he helped luffy was when he was about to die
yh tbh i feel like he went to logue town to invite luffy to his army but when he said he wanted to be the pirate king he changed his mind
maybe but wouldnt dragon have already known that from garp, assuming dragon and garp were still in contact
When did we see Dragon use wind powers? Like sure people guess he has it, but it’s never been confirmed. Also are there any hints in the story that Dragon’s watching over him? Like are the freak accidents around Luffy supposed to be Dragon?
I think people just say that because of how dragon quickly came to save luffy in loguetown and also because of the lightning (wind can control lightning idk)
Can I make my predictions here
The straw hats are gonna split up at the end of the anime
his powers have been shown so many times he is shown and plus his ship is called the "wind" granma search it up that can literally indicate he has the powers of wind and tbh probably powers of storm
Predictions are better put in #manga-serious fyi
I mean he could have just coincidentally been at Loguetown too. As for saving Luffy, yeah if he has wind/storm abilities I can see that being the case
but what business would dragon have in loguetown its literally a place for rookie pirates no shot he came for a reason
Okay, but those are all guesses based on inferences; nothings been confirmed yet. For what you’ve claimed to be true, then Dragon must have that ability and be able to travel fast with it and somehow know where Luffy is at all times.
I don’t know. But the simplest answer is he was just conveniently there. Lots of people have conveniently been at the right place at the right time in the story.
Also just to be clear: having assumptions is fine. You’re assuming he has powers based on valid evidence. Just wanted to know which parts of your theory are concrete and which ones are still assumptions
if dragon has the powers of a wind logia (IF) so basically he is the wind and back in chapter 1 in op it literally said wind blows from the east and when ivankov was talking to dragon on the thing it literally randomly said wind blows from the east
In chapter 100 we can see gusts of wind that happened right after dragon got there i would post but i cant post images
no its matching with bb for more. luffy got his crew by friendship. he doesnt care about strength. look at ussop nami. he just chose people according to the roles in start and now he just need friends. even when he make alliance he calls it friendship. bb is the one who doesnt care about friendship and just want strong people together in his crew. luffy didnt recruit the strongest swordsman. he took a swordman who can fight. zoro "will" become strongest swordsman.
I know the part you’re talking about. Do you understand my issues with it being a concrete fact?
Yes if he has that power, it would explain why he has all these wind-related references around him
yeah but I still think its as clear as it can be
Then we’ll have to agree to disagree. Tbh if we saw Dragon more than a handful of times, I’d be more convinced.
@rancid elbow we’ve talked about this before. Sharing theory links is fine but we request that you add a short summary to it, which is basically the premise and 2-3 pieces of evidence/reasoning you use
Got you, the link was supposed to appear and show the evidence. The panels are right there but I will rewrite them when I can, thanks
Yeah, but the summary’s always meant to be in text form here on discord, not in a link’s preview. If there’s a summary within the link, feel free to copy/paste it to your initial message. Also, you don’t have to add panels in your summary either. Edit: deleted your post for now. Please feel free to repost once you have a short summary ready to accompany it.
Whats fyi 👍
Did luffy have gear 5 before he first used it in the manga?
Because in film red we saw big mom still being alive but he used gear 5th to beat tot musika
Nah movie timelines are fucked
But I did see someone point out once that in Impel Down while he was poisoned there’s a point where Luffy’s hair is white….so maybe then. Which would be great.
@primal yarrow fyi means "for your information".
@languid flax like l1ghtsnack said, movies are not canon so they don't adhere to the same timeline as the manga. In the future, please use #manga-serious for questions like that.
Ok
movie takes place after wano tho
hes right its fucked
movies arent canon, as always
donut
i saw a youtube short discussing this, dragon's fruit could be a thunderbird mythical zoan fruit. the markings on his face look like native tribe markings and his first appearance coincided with a thunderstorm. The thunderbird is said to carry rain on its back and created thunder and lightning. pretty crazy to me
and the thunderbird is also a native american legend, which crazily is still a mystery to the native americans like how it is to us
the reason i repeated the short's theory is because i think it kinda matches
How would this thunderbird mythical zoan fruit contribute to the story? I don't see the correlation
maybe that is the hidden reason dragon is so feared. his hypothetical thunderbird fruit could be so powerful that is the reason why he is the most dangerous criminal
They gonna be revealed even before that likely
wasnt the "one piece" confirmed to be a story based on the oden flashbacks ?
what if the one piece was the entire mnga?that is why roger named it laugh tale
Maybe split it into 6 days, yk? It's said that context stick in you mind more if you split it into days... and you can catch up nicely by the next episode
(trust me, you'll feel really sad when you catch up)
Why would it be a shitty looking wig
ok so this is potentially kinda off topic, but I'm not sure what other channel to post in. I'm sure many people have heard the little fact "joy boy is based of a Caribbean mythological figure" thrown around. So I went to look for this myth to read up on it, but all search results around joy boy lead back to one piece. the only thing I have to go off of is that the one piece fandom wiki says that joy boy is described in the book "encyclopedia of things that never were". I check the book out, there is a mention of him, but there are no in text citations, just a bibliography. so I'm coming through the books in the bibliography looking for the one that's the source on joy boy. point being, this is not a super fast process and if anyone has any sources on the joy boy myth to help me find when it was recorded/by who, that would be much appreciated.
links to the things mentioned:
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Joy_Boy
https://anyflip.com/wxhud/dvbo/basic
also I am aware of the potential ties to the indonesian king Ratu Joyoboyo, but I am hoping to exhaust this avenue of stuff before diving into that
what are the running theories on the gisnt sword on onigashima?
It’s probably just decoration
theres still a small chance that the original joyboy was a giant who wielded a sword. ill keep it in the back of my head
The sword is far far too big for a giant even an ancient giant like oars
The swords in the ground like a grave marker
Yahh
Not really a theory but I think one piece’s art style perfectly camouflages it’s dark themes. It’s when you have a closer look(read the manga) you realise what’s hiding in the shadows. When getting my cousin into it he always told me that the characters looked like comedic reliefs and could never be taken seriously. After some time he finally understood the limitations that the art style removes allowing for a world with endless possibilities. In my opinion no other author will get the time or strength to create a world like one piece. (no offence to other series)

@native wing interesting thought. Do you have any examples of moments in the One Piece story that have that kind of characteristic? Were there moments that seemed like comedic relief but actually hid something insidious?

York and Blackbeard: The Contingency Plan
Ever since chapter 1078 dropped, I've seen a lot of criticism toward York's whole plan of becoming a Celestial Dragon. And that's fair enough- it does seem quite naïve to imagine them allowing her to join them, and it's been clear from the start that there was never any intention to honour her agreement with the Gorosei.
However, we're also made aware of a contingency plan of hers, right as we're also shown that a Blackbeard Pirates ship is heading toward Egghead now. So what if her plan isn't actually as stupid as it may seem? After all, even after figuring out the Government double crossed her, she still seemed to believe that she can become a Celestial Dragon.
With the Government opposing her- there's only one other way to do that: to ally with someone who wants to destroy the current World Nobles, but also take their place- Blackbeard.
We all kind of assumed Blackbeard to be quite the anarchist, in the same vain as Kaido who wanted to just destroy the World Government and the Celestial Dragons with it. But with his recent actions involving Koby and his plan to create Blackbeard Kingdom on Hachinosu, it seems he isn't so opposed to actual orderly rule. His idea of becoming a King also sounds ridiculous, much like York's plan- the Government would never allow that, but yet he still believes he can do it.
It almost feels like hes content with just being a King and giving up on the One Piece, but we also know from his battle with Law that hes still aiming for the spot of Pirate King too. Schemer that he is, Blackbeard is likely running these plans parallel to each other, in case one goes wrong, but each with the same result- to become King of the World.
Blackbeard appears to have inherited Rocks' will, having taken over his old base of Hachinosu and even naming his ship the Saber of Xebec, so it's no surprise that he might share that same ambition to sit upon the empty throne. With one of his hobbies also being to research history, Blackbeard may also be aware that there is already a king of the world that needs to be toppled.
Either by claiming the One Piece or managing to become a World Government recognised King and enter Mariejois, Blackbeard can get the result he wants. But as previously established, even Koby or Garp likely isn't enough to convince the Government to let an emperor join them, let alone grant them access to Mariejois.
This is where York comes in. She posesses just as much knowledge as any of the Vegapunks, meaning she can hypothetically create clones, mechs, and notably Seraphim (especially if Laffite and Devon can get their hands on some of the tech already on Egghead). Garp was also just captured by Blackbeard's crew, meaning that cloning the legendary hero of the marines is also possible.
With the threat of an armada of extremely powerful Seraphim and ancient kingdom technology, Blackbeard may be able to force the government to let him join them, and from there his plan begins- to destroy the Celestial Dragons and Imu- and to replace them with himself and his own crew, including York.
Another potential factor in this is Pluton. We know Caribou has a certain someone he's feeding information about the Ancient Weapons to, and while previously Ive given the idea that this could be Crocodile and Cross Guild, Blackbeard is also a very viable option.
If Caribou and York are both working for Blackbeard, it'd also explain why they seem to be working together, with an odd shadow taking out the cameras while York is carrying out her death game.
Wano is very close to Egghead Island, so the ship with Laffite, Devon and York could quite easily join up with Teach, Burgess, Augur and Doc Q, and launch an assault on Wano to claim Pluton for themselves, using that as a greater threat against the World Government.
As I said before in my Cross Guild theory, this can also allow for the Straw Hats to return to Wano and finish some unresolved plot threads- namely Yamato and how she still wants to be a Straw Hat- potentially rejoining before the end of the story.
With us likely returning to Egghead island VERY soon and spoilers coming within the next couple of days, I wanted to get this theory out before it may end up being confirmed or completely disproved.
Obviously no theory is perfect, and I'm not certain that EVERY aspect of it will be true, but I think this is the most likely outcome for understanding York's goals and why she is still so dead set on joining the Celestial Dragons.
I think there may be something at Raftel along with the wig to show that
If the Oden flashback confirmed it was a story then thered be no mystery
As far as we know learning the true history (the story) is separate from the treasure itself
It would be funny. But I do think that the treasures invaluable worth stems from it being simpler than we think
Because it's hilarious
This is very similar to my own theory. I also believe York will join bb as a contingency since the wg tricked her. With her knowledge as vegapunk bb will see use for her.
I think she could potentially do the df+weapon procedure for shuryuu.
But eventually sh3 will be killed and tossed aside maybe by Devon herself. Devon will cut of her head
oh. and i just saw an interview of oda in which he himself says that the one piece is a real, very valuable treasure
So it is a physical object and not a metaphor
A golden afro then
Ok, thank you for letting me know
This was a great read, thanks for sharing. I do think the combination of Devon/Laffitte+York+Caribou will lead to disastrous outcomes on all fronts. I do like the idea of returning to Wano to resolve the ownership of Pluton and love the idea that BB's showing the WG one face but behind the scenes still trying to be the pirate king.
But another thing to note is how York's possible alliance with the BB Pirates parallel Donflamingo's alliance with Vergo, Trebol, Pica, and Diamante to make the Donquixote Family. When Donflamingo was on the run from the WG, he was in possession of forbidden knowledge (the national treasure). Once he managed to escape to the north blue (ch782), he created what we know to be the Donquixote Family. After eluding the WG for so long, he was given the rights of a CD in name only (ch761). So, York's alliance may be the push BB needs to become a legitimate Country and have complete power over the blue sea.
So the ramifications you've listen can be looked at throughs the lens of Donflamingo's reign of unchecked power. For example, I'd be very curious of Devon could "replace" Saturn, which could lead to an traitor inside the WG just like Vergo was in the Marines. Just throwing that out there as an idea.
I've written up a few more parallels between Donflamingo and York here: #manga-serious message
now what if, the one piece is the actual gomu gomu fruit in the treasure chest and shanks had it for the whole time and luffy ate it?
guys what do you think the treasure in Mary Geoise
is?
He stole it from a CP9 ship so like
Thatd mean Whos Who somehow knows where Laugh Tale is
I'd strongly argue Imu is the treasure
Care to elaborate? You have my attention.
Really like your theory on York and could very likely join BB. About Blackbeard wanting to get Pluton in Wano is something that in my opinion would happen after he gets to Laugh Tale and get the One Piece.
I think laugh tale is the last thing or the second to last thing I cant see blackbeard getting his plan rolling by invading wano after laugh tale
Plus if it was a part of his plan then WE know he wont get the One Piece
So theres no point narratively in him having it if he wont even get the chance to execute it
So, I've been having a theory regarding Luffy's abilities and the Mythical Zoans as a whole.
Mythical Zoans are the only Zoan Fruit I've ever seen that don't all follow the standard 3-forms rule. The first Mythical Zoan we see (at least at first) is Marco's Tori-Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix, which features a partial transformation in place of a Hybrid form in which Marco can manifest Pheonix wings and talons, but maintain his normal human appearance.
Other Fruits in the Mythical Zoan category have shown no Hybrid form whatsoever, or only a hybrid form as a transformation depending on the perspective.
For instance, Sengoku's Hito-Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu transforms him into a large, golden Buddha, but he still maintains his physical features like his hair, jacket, and facial features, not unlike a hybrid form of a standard Zoan ability.
On the opposite end we have the Hito-Hito no Mi, Model: Onyudo, eaten by Onimaru, a fox who was a former companion of Shimotsuke Ushimaru. Onimaru shows no Hybrid from so far, only transforming into his Gyukkimaru appearance via a puff of smoke.
However, we have seen at least 2 abilities with standard Hybrid forms, and that is Kaido's Uo-Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu and Yamato's Inu-Inu no Mi, Model: Okuchi no Makami. Both of these individuals have displayed a full set of transformations from their baseline human form, to their beast form, and including a Hybrid form as well.
While we don't have direct confirmation from Oda regarding whether or not Kaido and Yamato are awakened users or not, I'd like to think that due to the appearance of their Hybrid forms, as well as the skill and understanding of their own abilities, they are both Awakened mythical Zoans, which may be why they're afforded that transformative power. (In fact, Yamato himself seems to have the same kind of cloud-flame shroud around them that Rob Lucci and Kaku have for their respective awakened transformation forms.
But how does this lead back into Luffy? Well, some folks expressed confusion regarding Luffy's DF being a Mythical Zoan-type instead of a Paramecia, and I believe there was some controversy about it too. However, the signs of Luffy's true abilities are all there, looking back at the series as a whole. Not only does he pull off feats that should be relatively impossible for rubber anyway, but he also does have a full transformative state that can count for his Zoan transformation: Gear 4's Snakeman.
If you look at the design of Snakeman, how it's animated and the way it looks, it looks like a perfect cross between Luffy and his Gear 5th form, and even behaves not unlike such. This then leads me to the jist of the theory:
Mythical Zoan awakenings grant their user the full range of capabilities of the creature they can become, and also open up access to any form, be it Hybrid, Beast, or in-between, that the user cannot access outright.
Up till now, Luffy was able to instigate a partial or hybrid transformation by activating gear 4th and then adjusting how much air he inflated himself with to alter that form and be better situated for combat.
Should we see other Mythical Zoans awaken, perhaps the pattern with hold. I only wish Oda would explain the criteria behind awakenings and what they need to happen.
I don't really understand what your real theory is other than stating the obvious fact that an awakened devil fruit user is able to fully utilise their powers.
My theory is that Mythical Zoan abilities don't offer the same types or number of transformations as Ancient and Normal ones do, and that awakening a Mythical Zoan-type ability provides access to transformations the user cannot normally access, such as Luffy's full Nika form, and Yamato and Kaido's Hybrid forms.
does anyone remember the water seven ending teasers? it had something to do with hints of the one piece
Mythical zoans are so unique in their powers that also bridge the gap of Logia, Paramecia and Zoan that it isnt so simple. Even Blackbeard's yami yami fruit could end up in fact being a mythical zoan and we know very little about possible transformations.
True, but it's my thought that, until proven otherwise, Mythical Zoans behave in a limited fashion compared to others until awakened
The more powerful the Zoan, the greater the limitation pre-awakening.
It's kinda like (and pardon my off-series reference here) the Chaos boons from Hades. They're all strong benefits, but they come at a hefty cost that stays around for a few chambers before the benefits kick in.
Luffy, as far as we know, probably has the most powerful Mythical Zoan to date, so the fact that he lacks a standard transformation until after he awakens makes sense.
I don't understand what you mean by mythical zoans "behaving" In a limited way. I would argue that mythical zoans awakening have more transformations compared to regular fruit. Luffys for example has unlimited number of transformations as he can morph his body however he likes.
heyo (im new to the server) ,i have a query regarding some wonpiss lore ,was luffy's starting bounty (30 mill) a legitimate & reasonable amount for his head considering the sungod was inside him or am i missing some context? (i mean the search after the sun god started 800 yrs ago & i'd be hard pressed to finally get that task checked out y'know...)
We can't even know since he could've been in giganto form all the time xD
my headcanon was that his bounty was not taking account his DF since
1- it was a legend and not certain, even for the gurusei
2- it would have drawn unnecessary attention on something that the WG would prefer hidden
That's also why the WG doesnt put a price on the poneglyph. It'd have drawn many attention on those and ppl would have started studying it or selling those and it would have made them a valuable stuff. Better to disregard them and let them rot somewhere
fair enough, thank you very very much ❤️
https://youtu.be/ShuHAUAAbfw theory on what was funny at laughtale, the true meaning of loguetown being the place of the beginning and end or something like that. Basically the main premise is that there is a pole shift phenomenon that happened during the void century which changed the currents of the world. And its suggesting that during the current position of poles, loguetown is the place of beginnings but when it shifts again, it will be the final island. This has quite a few pieces of evidence behind it, being the jaya island being a skull when put together with its missing part, because the bottom part was named south sometbing, but its facing east when put together. However if you shift the poles by 90° it would point south. Theres more evidence in the video

@tawdry python sharing a link to a theory is fine, but we always request that people provide a short summary of the theory they’re referencing. Just a few lines summarizing the premise and 3-4 pieces of evidence/reasoning they use would suffice. If you could please edit your message and add the summary there it’d be appreciated.
Its very complicated i cant even summarize it with evidence 😭
There we go, my explanations arent the best, the video explains it well
Nah that was great, thanks for adding it
I ain’t readin allat
This channel is intended for long-form theories, should check out magna-serious for shorter form discussion
Since we know that there are atleast 4 gods in one piece, including Nika the sun god, that leaves 3 other gods that have been revealed to us, god of rain, forest, and earth.
I believe that the gorosei or imu are in possession of atleast 1 of these devil fruits. Theres nothing to back this, just based on assumption of where they are on the hierarchy and how powerful they seem to be.
The other two however could be anywhere. There is a good assumption people have which that Dragon is in possession of the devil fruit hosting the rain god, which would make sense due to rain pouring down whenever he is present in the story.
The other devil fruit could honestly be anywhere, lots of people seem to think that Greenbull is in possession of the forest god fruit, which would make a lot of sense, but since greenbull is a logia type devil fruit user, and appears to be very weak in comparison to someone like Kizaru or Fujitora. This makes me think that someone has not eaten this devil fruit and it remains untouched somewhere within the one piece world.
Theres also the other option, that all the other gods are non-existent and made up due to not seeming to have another mention within the story apart from skypiea, even the gorosei have yet to mention them, and a good reason for that is, that the gorosei have had no reason to mention them. The other 3 gods did not cause any trouble for Imu during the void century as much as Joyboy did, so they have no reason to consider them a threat as large as the hito hito no mi model nika
I think Luffy's gear 5 has some connection to the sulong form as they are both white and have red eyes. I think his name Monkey D. Luffy forshadows his final form that looks more like Sun Wukong who also has white hair.
I just wanna add, that there is an encyclopedia of DF, which means a lot of them have been used before and have been reborn. Including the void age, I assume the government, kept a lot of those DF to themselves and recollected them on the Grand Line.
That is basically just the awakened form of Zoan DF, Kaido has it, also not fully portrayed and Rob Luki has it on his awakened form aswell.
- Zoan Fruits have their own characters. Kaku mentioned, during Enies Lobby, that he felt some sort of presence, after he ate the fruit. Also we have like a sword and a gun "ate" a DF, which means, than Zoan DF shape the personality of a weapon "eating" a DF.
wonder if they keep them in the garden we constantly see imu in
So, Nika could have been in the OG Joyboy and now be in Luffy, based on the DF-Zoan. They keep them in the garden, which I belive is why Admirals and especially the Gorosai have handpicked DF.
Also if Luffy can get imagination going and can be like as hot as the sun, Magma does not stand a chance. Even though, magma is pretty powerful, if Akainue went wild on the East Blue or any Blues, he could have killed many people.
i think nika is the devil fruit
No, it has been established, that the Zoan type DF, was a Human-Human fruit - Type-Nika
Human-Human fruits exist, since Chopper got introduced. The side effect of the fruit that Luffy ate, was that his body got like gum, but his true power is imagination - which kinda reflects the power of the author. Luffy can do anything that the author wants him to do.
The legend of Nika was born through slaves in the ancient times, where slaves would pray for someone to come save them from their suffering. Due to a large number of people praying for this legend to be born, it was, in form a Devil Fruit.
Thanks to Dr. Vegapunk, we know Devil Fruits come into the world through desire from people. As long as people dream of wanting something it would come into the world, through Devil Fruits.
People dreamt of this "Warrior of Liberation" through Nika, in which the Human-Human Fruit Type: Nika was born. Although the Devil Fruit exists in the world, one does not naturally obtain the powers of Nika the sun god, rather the fruit chooses the bearer who will bring peace to the world in which they travel. We see this in Luffy and we can assume that Joyboy also wanted the same.
Reminds me of berserk where people prayed that there must be an excuse or reason for their suffering so the idea of evil manifested. The collective human wish literally created a god.
But I don't believe your theory because Zunesha says "Joyboy has returned" as Luffy's awakens his DF. This means that 800 years agoJoyboy must have had the hito hito no mi model : nika.
The slaves most likely pray to nika because he did probably liberate them in the past. But I believe that the reason Roger laughed at the one piece is because it's a story of a repeating cycle of good vs bad. Joyboy will always be resurrected to put the world back into one piece meaning that everyone can live together regardless of social class or race. But eventually Joyboy dies and the world decends into chaos until he comes back to repeat the cycle.
But I don't believe your theory because Zunesha says "Joyboy has returned" as Luffy's awakens his DF. This means that 800 years agoJoyboy must have had the hito hito no mi model : nika.
i dont see where I said this was false?
I like the way you're putting it
I like the idea of fixing chaos and putting the word back into one piece figuratively far better than the theory that the one piece is actually literally destroying redline
Also, I believe that Zunesha can hear the Drums of Liberation because Luffy gives off the same "Nika" aura that Joyboy gave off, and has Nika inside of him in a way. The same way that the admirals at marineford saw whitebeard when blackbeard used wbs gura gura no mi
the news about imu killing cobra will get revealed, as it will shock the world, and the other nations affiliated with the wg will begin to realize that the wg isnt about justice and freedom, as they realize, they are gonna start to fight back slowly, while they are doing that the strawhats will gather their allies, the revs prepare, and so does cross guild, and once that happens, the final war begins
To the first paragraph, praying does not do anything. People die and live as far as they need to be.
Idk if it is just desire, Vegapunk is also limited in his knowledge, he knows a lot but is very limited and being kept limited by Imu and the later islands of the Grand Line.
About the Luffy DF, you would need to provide some chapters, or lines to support that. As I have said before, yeah it makes sense. But there is a lot of headcannon going on, which I do not believe has not any sort of argumentation with examples.

It is not against you. I have been a part of One Piece theories for a long time. Even on this channel we talked about a lot of - should this be manga-serious or not.
It might be it. It is not, that your theory has no value but, if a theory is more based on references it has a higher value. If things are just like head cannon, they tend to be rather.. vague.
One message removed from a suspended account.
I just wanna say, it is not on a malicious attempt. The nature, was more of an understaning value, to provide to your theory.
Got a theory here on the last road poneglyph and shanks relationship to luffy would love to hear your guys thoughts. Ok so you know how roger reached laughtale and always wore the straw hat? What if he destroyed the poneglyph and inscribed it on the red part of the straw hat then gave it to shanks and tasked him to find the reincarnation of joyboy. In doing that he finds out about the hito hito no mi fruit and knows it’s the rare devil fruit so he steals it and he brings it around with him until the fruit chooses someone to eat it which in turn was luffy. Then shanks tells him to find him once he has become a great pirate and surpasses him to give the hat back. Where the last test for luffy to pass before he is ready to go to laughtale and take on the world government is for luffy to defeat shanks. When shanks is defeated by luffy he reveals that the last poneglyph is in the hat and he goes with luffy to laughtale and rallies up the other emperors to fight against the world government. Which would make sense for why buggy is an emperor and why oda decided to do that.
But you cant destroy poneglyphs, its confirrmed to be impossible and how wud that connect to the man with burn scar?
I think its like this: Luffy is a seraphim clone of joyboy, thats why his mother was never portrayed.
Vegapunk created him in order to speed up the reincarnation of joyboy. Dragon is actually not his real father.
Whats for sure about the one piece.. it comes with a story (book) recap that joyboy left on a poneglyph. It explains the clash between Imu and joyboy which (I assume) used to be friends when they were younger.
I'm pretty sure zoro sacrifices himself to save luffys life one day. And I'm also assuming that lysop dies because he already achieved his dream in becoming a great warrior and there has been no death in the crew yet. Once Wanokuni opens to the world, the seas fuse together again and the all blue is born.
if luffy was a searpim why isnt he darkskinned and why does he have black hair.
I dont think the timing of the cloning tech and the various people lines up for that. Where would vegapunk get joyboys linege factor with him having been dead for centuries? If WG has it, they wouldnt give it to him. Older clones we know of were made of readily available living people like buckingham stussy. And seraphim are relatively new breakthrough building upon the pacifista tech. Also there are plenty of examples of inheriting someones will despite not being blood related, its a pretty common occurence
I've been thinking there's an obvious connection between Suulong form and the Fishmen's National Treasure — in Fishmen Island, it is stated that the pills taken by Hody Jones and his crewmates were the original content of the Tamatebako.
When Hody abused them, he turned into a white-haired version of himself, similarly to how the Suulong form changes the Minks' features.
But seeing that it comes from an ancient treasure, said to be passed down generations upon generations of fishmen, these pills must be something much more important, lore-wise, than the mere steroid reserve Hody saw in them.
Given this visual connection with Suulong, their apparent importance in the Fishmen folklore, their ancient origins, and the more recent appearance revealed by the Gear 5, couldn't there be some kind of "common ancestor" between them all? They all represent a massive power-up, represented aesthetically the same way...
We could argue that this power-up gives their users a means to free themselves of oppression. Could the Suulong and Steroid pills be traced back to the idea embodied by Sun God Nika? Or perhaps just linked to the awakening of DFs?
While I was watching the last ep I remembered a think zunesha said " joyboy has returned" but that just don't make sense why would joyboy returned if he is a different person so I think joyboy is not an actual person but the name of the gear 5 form, but probably the name of the first joyboy is monkey d something, the form is called joyboy because he is smiling and laughing while beating is enemies that's why zunesha said joyboy has returned
I can’t remember where it was said but Zoan DFs have somewhat of a will of their own, basically choosing their bearer, and for HHT:N we should believe it has a stronger will because it wants to choose a bearer that will fulfil the dream of bringing freedom to the world.
buggy's fruit in a sense is a polar opposite to luffy's fruit, and with the clown being a yonko now, is it possible buggy has a god devil fruit like luffy?
Oda is a evil man if this theory is true, the commanders of BB are the 10 titanics and how the titanic sink? Crashed against a iceberg made of ice and who as the devil fruit? Kazan so I still think Kazan is a good guy and he will be the one to start de distraction of the BB pirates
But if he is the opposite of Luffy, Luffy is a god and buggy is not
a devil then?
They all are devil fruit users
When I thought about it, it’s pretty obvious how Blackbeard gets devil fruit powers from dead devil fruit users
We know when a devil fruit user dies, somewhere in the world, the fruit is reborn. Blackbeard’s power can even drag in the devils in the devil fruit itself; and just like the swamp swamp fruit, he can store a lot in himself as we saw.
So he probably dragged in whitebeard’s devil fruit power into himself and stored it, still not sure if this is related to the fact he can use two devil fruit abilities, but it explains how that jailer from impel down got the invisible power from that dude in thriller bark
I have a theory. So you know when BB attacked drum island I believe that it was to claim Wapols DF... BB has the power to eat multiple DFs right? And Wapol has the power to transform into anything he eats. Because of BBs strange body when he eats a DF in that form he stores it inside himself. And when he wants to use its powers he makes it a part of his body( as seen with the dark fruit) .
So Ik Wapol is still currently alive so BB never claimed his DF but this is where the DF theory comes in. BB could have desired the DF so much that a brand new DF was formed that BB then ate. Could he be sending his crew to egghead to learn more about this information. IDK
( btw dont judge Im not completely caught up to the manga so correct me if Im wrong :) )
Saw this on reddit, the theory states that "One piece is Joyboys logbook"
Like literally Laughtale? One Piece was never mentioned by Roger to be what it is now, just by the newspaper. So far, Roger did not name the One Piece. He just completed his journey but he also knew the existance of Joyboy. Considering Luffy´s take on logbooks and avoiding them to have a fresh journey, I hardly believe the One Piece is a Logbook.
In the panel you can sort of see he is reading something, hence the theory that it's Joyboys logbook and his journey
just came up with this off the top of my head when someone asked why Imu would allow people who know her identity to have fruits this powerful, what if they have some sort of Puppet zoan fruit that allows them to control people like puppets and create strings, like puppets which explain the arrows. not very plausible but thought'd be a fun little thing to share
doflamingo fruit has that power but i guess its paramecia version
does that mean theres a puppet logia!1?1!
Logias are natural phenomena fire, ice sand etc
Does anyone else see parallels with Little Garden and what seems hinted at to occur? I don't know but there were some things that grabbed my attention such as; a prehistoric island existing on the grandline which brings to mind the One Piece world in its entirety, how there used to be an advanced sci-fi civilization and now its the 17th century basically; Mr. 3's ability has a sort of analog for control, able to take prisoner and make 'dolls' or puppets if you will, others, and he can even do this to more powerful people through deception and surprise; how the giants are fighting for a 100 years which makes me think that this is a hint at why giants, or, an analog for giants, do not use their power to destroy the Island Eater aka Imu, and it is only when Joyboy comes along and solves the problem do the forces finally come together to destroy Imu; the fact that the Sea King is called the Island Eater, which is exactly the thing Imu is now basically known as in its own way, and, not only that, but two other things to note are the creepy eyes the Island Eater has when rising from the water which to me resemble Imu in his shadow form, and when Dory and Brogy noted how large Island Eater has become by, obviously, eating islands; the fact that the Island Eater is a Sea King, this feels related to many theories that Imu or Umi, is somehow connected to the ocean. I feel like theres more connections within Little Garden but I gotta go to sleep so let me know what you think or let me know if this is common knowledge and I'm just reinventing the wheel here.
Roger didn't find a cure for his sickness on Laugh Tale, his mind is set on disbanding the crew, and Shanks basically just lost his home
If u were raised by a man and he his dying but then he comes back and u know very well that his journey came to an end and his time to say the goodbye
Who here doesn't think dragon has a higher bounty than Roger?
could the hole in the sea where lulusia is be the same as the one under enies lobby?
That's what I was thinking @mighty bronze
So maybe a island stood there before enies lobby but I mean who really knows
That's what I thought when I was reading it, and maybe they did ennies lobby on top so people don't see it, but I think it was done in the void century because in the arc the mentioned that no one knows why there's a hole. My question is if no one in the world knew lulusia kingdom, because people are going to start wondering why the island isn't there anymore or why the road poneglygh isn't working, I know that there's many islands in the grand line and everyone doesn't know all of them but still should be people wondering about it apart from the revolutionary army
If Pudding awakens her Df powers, do you think she can not only cut the memory’s of people, but their fate in the future as well?
with the new reveal that lulusia turned into a giant hole after imus attack what if enies lobby was built where god valley used to be
do we know how long ennies lobby is?
The thing is mother flame wasn’t made till recently so how was god valley destroyed in the first place
The godvalley incident happened 39-41 years ago, but there were the 2 giants in enies lobby that stated they where there over 50 years … so I don’t think that enies lobby was godvalley
It’s also very bizarre. It doesn’t make physical sense whatsoever. The water should rush in to the hole and fill it, so sea levels should actually go down but it doesn’t. Instead you have a hole that is a VOID and we know that Mu means void in Japanese. Maybe imus powers have something to do with actually creating and destroying things
I’ve been saying Imu wants to flood the world for a while now and this essentially confirms it
That’s an interesting theory. It would explain why BB attacked a out of the way frozen country. I always thought that it was odd for BB to just attack it rather than keep a low profile when being on the run from Whitebeards forces
Maybe whatever the weapon was only had enough power to do so then
im betting either someone important dies in the siege or a marine switches sides
Maybe carribou will kidnap a vegapunk for crossguild or BB. Still haven’t seen him after Zoro booted him off the ship.
Yami yami no mi maybeeeee
big bro ?!?
Blackbeard
CP0 really changed sides????
Undetermined.
Pluton is a flying warship, created by vegapunk several generations ago, that had underwent testing to be used by the world government (matches the description that a large shadow was formed above the sky, and the fact that pluton can destroy entire islands). Perhaps enies lobby's destruction was the first use of pluton. It doesn't say the aqua laguna had happened for 800 years, so perhaps this entire event is recent, and annual water fluctuations are a result of that (I'm still not too sure on this part, it could be as simple as vegapunk has been doing yearly tests on islands in the area) Imu may not destroy entire islands often, so this may have been the first use of pluton at full power?
Strussy betrayed CP0 to protect Vega punk. Kaku and Lucci joined forces with Luffy to deal with seraphim. Possibly that in order to prevent Lucci from turn on them afterwards that Vega punk disclosed everything he knows about void Century. Blackmail
Now that he knows the WG will come after him and Kaku too.
Where does he wanna go to? Revolutionists?
Idk somewhere he can kill people. Cross Guild?
Mother flame? What's that
Fusion/power source recreated by Vega punk. Might be power source of one of the ancient weapons
Cp0 being in “the know” about void is nail on head about why they work with straw hats + you have to think lucci and kaku both hold luffy and zoro in high regard at this point
Buggy might have one of the most strongest devil fruits. I dont know if it was for a gag or not but when Mihawk cut him buggy seperated himself to almost particle level parts. If he can do that then theoritcally speaking he could seperate himself until his invisible to the naked eye. If he cant do that right now then maybe he could with a devil fruit awakening
he is not awakening his df bro
who is the baby in the newest manga? Did Dragon have another child?
Buggys regen is fast so it wouldnt be a good power at all. Also he aint getting a DF awakening
Buggys upgraded is going to be acoc obviously
Stop wasting your time making theories on a Japanese cartoon
If Mihwak cuts with Haki, Buggy should be dead tho unless he can predict every single cut
💀 fake one piece fans be like:
I think in One Piece / Japan the term "big bro" doesnt necessarily refer to a sibling. If anything, people speculate the woman holding the baby had a thing going on with Shanks, so it could just be Shanks' child
also my bro rlly called it a JAPANESE CARTOON bro like its called ANIME
it's a CARTOON

Im not your bro
Man named his discord username after a japanese cartoon character and says this
Cartoon is a fodder term

MF JUST ADMIT YOU ASSOCIATE CARTOONS WITH PEPPA PIG LMFAOAOAO

true tbh 💀 but the fact is peppa pig is actually a good show its peak tbh also i love the british accents
bruhhhhhhhh whats your pfp supposed to be its just a character buried over a light yellow i cant even see what it is bro...
anyway i have a theory for the kizaru fight coming soon. i think its going to be a epic clash between kizarus sword and frankys nipple rays.fight of the century
If that was the case then Buggy should've died at marineford. And we know Mihawk has no reason to keep Buggy in particular alive as he had no problem killing other pirates
Either buggy has sufficient haki to resist (which supports him upgrading to acoc soon) or mihawk was going easy/is a fraud.
Either buggy is Aizen level actor or Mihawk was just playing. Personally think the second one
The Mother Flame might displace gravity around it, pushing all the matter in that area outward
Agreed. He had a pretty lax attitude during whole marineford event. He was in the mix a lil but not 100%. His fight with vista for example was a pure sword duel, not a fight to death per se
theory basing of the new chapter; i think that enies lobby is the remains of god valley. while there isnt much proof, i just think it would make sense. Imu has only erased islands that are a threat to them and from what we know the god valley incident kind of messed up imu as it was a place with a lot of celestial dragons and their slaves. i assume to erase such a failure imu used the prototype weapon that vegapunk made that well erases islands there. since it was a prototype it left a bit of land left and from there enies lobby was built. my only basis is that enies lobby is in a triangle with marineford and impel down which the world gvt probably really needs as bases of operation.
Lulususia was not really a threat yet was it? Some have mentioned the timelines dont match up for god valley to be enies lobby crater
why so? and lulususia was a threat due to sabo's uprising there, at least thats what i believe. imu probably just wanted to eliminate sabo for some unknown reason (besides attacking a celestial dragon and hearing a bit too much)
though then again they would have nuked nico robin if that was the case as well and there are plenty of islands that they couldve done so too
Right? I dont think hoping sabo was on premise and then destroying it would be the best way to remove sabo from equation.
God valley took place 38 years ago but enies lobby has been there longer i believe is what i read (may be wrong)
if there is a way to check for how long it existed i will, i think the only confirmation are the two giants that usopp liberated and maybe franky's backstory
Would be weird if enies lobby is only 30 years old as it’s described to us as a massive stronghold w/ so many marines etc.
Anybody else think we might be going to space ? Enel or his devil fruit might actually be the ancient power Vegapunk has been talking about. We know ENEL is now a resident of Fairy Vearth (The moon) it's very possible those little dudes he woke up there might have something to do with the ancient energy. so his return might be inevitable. I watched the anime so I can't say for sure if this is consistent with the Manga but there is no signs of electricity(Specifically for power) in the series. I mean look at Mary geois the slaves are powering everything below the surface. Now the only thing that might tank the theory is the "Mother flame" we don't know what it runs on. But we do know Vegapunk made it but is still looking for the ancient energy. Bonus thing, the top of egghead looks like a UFO ? I imagine the only way they can go to escape is up. (Also im worried about the Sunny)
egghead is supposedly the same age, isnt it?
Good question, idk about age of egghead. Only that vegapunk changed its climate.
didn't the giants at enies lobby work there for 50 years before the straw hats stormed the place?
Yea there u go. I knew there was mention of enies being 50+ years old
Headcannon theory to check back in a year when we know more : Godvalley was named as such because it was daylight 24/7 like a divine place, first Lulutia incident, Enies Lobby is born.
I'm definitely not the first to post that thought here but at least I can ctrl+f in the future to see how much was right or wrong.
How do you explain the age difference. God valley incident = 38 years ago, enies lobby has been around for 50+ years though
Can't find anything online about Enies Lobby's age, can you link me what chapter it's mentionned?
Reply but time limit : ah true, well fuck me lol. I still find the idea convincing enough, we'll see how Oda explains Godvalley
We discussed earlier, i dont have the chapter but 2 giants talk about guarding the gates 50 years ago
Could have been not enies lobby 50 years ago? And still had the gates? Could be interesting idea.
Apparently its said the giants were captured 50years ago but not that they were already at Enies Lobby day1 after their capture
I absolutely love the idea of a space arc and im hoping thats the direction oda goes with it
Headcanon theory: The power source used to power the mother flame uses/is based ancient technology. The use of the power source is what caused the sea level to rise.
Before void century, OP's world was not mostly islands and ocean, but overuse of the ancient technology power source caused something along the lines of an apocalypse where the sea levels rose to form the geography we have today. Maybe tied to war against the ancient kingdom as well.
Space arc just feels like filler
it does but at the same time theres things in the series that hint that something with the moon is involved
Like vegapunk having space pirates meeting with enel
There are loads of ice lands and poles references, I wrote a super long theory about it, a polar arc is very likely. There is even another snow place seen this chapter. #manga-theories message
Vegapunk and franky are gona upgrade the sunny
They said they needed to work there for 50 years after the disbanding of the giant pirates
i think they said they need to work for 100 years for their bosses to get freed but they failed after 50 years cuz strawhats
Can you check?
i believe it's never specified how long ago the marines asked them to guard the gates, they told them to guard it for 100 years and all we know is that 22 years before chapter 1 they were reading about roger's execution, but I might be wrong
So we don’t know for sure why the sea levels rose? Idk if I’m missing something or everyone is just as confused as me
i mean it says the lvl rose because of the earthquake, it might have changed the surface of the sea ground and that caused everything to rise
Okay and then so the earthquakes were caused by lulusia being eradicated?
presumably yes, probably as a result of how deep the hole punched into the planet went? who knows
probably yeah, seems to be what Oda is trying to tell us
Okay cool thanks for the clarification!! Really appreciate it!
guys does anybody wanna come to Manga Discussion
We probably have a lot of new theories coming up with the latest chapter.
exciting times for sure, probably gonna be the case almost every week
Next chapter might see Luffy finally having direct communication with the five elders
I thought we had like a 5 elders - Gorosai matchup vs Luffy and the crew but it seems Oda wants to split up the fight.
Probably oda wants to start with one, as a taste of what to come
maybe a rout of the marines forces jaygarcia to action where he would have preferred to do nothing but he has such overwhelming power that it forces strawhats to escape rather than just win. maybe i interpreted it wrong but it doesnt look like the marines are doing well in the start of the battle in 1089
I am sure we are getting a Saturn fight now. I also, since Saturn is being active. I feel like the importance of the meaning of Garps attacks is importang, we got Galaxy fist and Galaxy divide, which impilcate the distortion that is happening. Like the Gorosai and Imu, named after planets and the universe, now facing the sun god Nika.
But if Luffy does fight Saturn. Would that be the shocking news that spread around the world. If anything the WG would cover it up. So either Saturn won’t fight in the open, and something else world shaking occurs, or it does happen. But how would it spread? There would need to be some World Economic journalist to come by and witness everything and release the story to th world
Similarly to the theory that the one piece is breaking redline and making the world one piece again, I tend to think it could be a way to lower the sea level back to its pre-voidcentury level and unify the world into 1 large continent again
Wouldnt that destroy a lot of sea life?
Anything considering the Gorosai, would probably be hidden. Not to the reader, not to the government. I mean they could frame Luffy, but honestly his bounty is way too high, so I would assume, that if Luffy beats Saturn it would be hidden from the public... or Saturn gets removed from the Gorosai.
What episode is this from?
It would be like Luffy beating crocodile again, and whittling the Seven warlord system
Well, I do not know what is going to happen. Morgans for sure is not on the side of the Gorosai and would love to bring a story out, but he is not there. Also, there is no knowledge of a Gorosai falling ot a pirate, which would be different.
Also there is Buggy who is the true Joker in the universe.
What happened to Lulusia is what happened to another island where the Ennies Lobby now stands. The exact same hole.
They'll probably build a new Enies Lobby on top off old Lulusia so anyone that wanders into Navy will just assume they got lost, and eventually Lulusia is forgotten!
My theory of one giant continent.
Ages ago, the planet had more land mass. I think, the fact that one weapon whether it's an ancient weapon or not, can raise global sea levels by 1 meter tells us that it could have happened in the past and many times over and the land was covered by water.
This takes me to Luffys ridiculous dream: I think it's to have one giant party with the whole world. He'll be able to do this by lowering the water levels and having around in the world be able to commute via land to the party.
@gritty kiteI was looking into you Polar theory and I made a connection that i wanted your opinion and everyone else about. Oda takes a lot of influence from history obviously. Curiously he has 2 very important island names with a correlation to poles as I have noticed. Polestar as you mentioned and Lode Star. A load star was a star that ancient navigators used to tell direction, the most frequently used star was of course Polaris, or more prevalently know as the Pole Star.
Before I elaborate on the previous I wanted to bring up a few translations of the word lode:
*lode (plural lodes)
(obsolete) A way or path; a road.
(dialectal) A watercourse.( Any channel, either natural or artificial, through which water flows.)
(mining) A vein of metallic ore that lies within definite boundaries, or within a fissure.
(by extension) A rich source of supply. i.e. Mother-Lode*
Wikipedia lists 3 words most associated with this root word:
-
lodestar (plural lodestars)
A star used as a navigation reference, particularly a pole star such as Polaris.
(figuratively) A guiding tenet or principle.
(law) A calculated amount to award as attorney's fees derived by multiplying the reasonable number of hours spent working on a case by the reasonable hourly billing r
-
lodestone (plural lodestones)
A naturally occurring magnet.
(obsolete) The mineral magnetite.
-mother lode (plural mother lodes)
(geology) A large or rich vein of gold or of another precious mineral from which other branches extend.
(idiomatic, by extension) Any source of valuable or useful material.
Lode could also have significance in a similar Raftel-Laughtale switch up with Road or possibly Lode Polneglyphs in this case, though I would want a native speaker to confirm that.
All the different paths on the Grand Line ultimately meet at Lodestar Island. According to Inuarashi, travelers who reach the island become aware of the Poneglyphs, the civilization that created them, as well as the hidden final island of Laugh Tale.
Since the Roger Pirates were the first known people to visit Lodestar Island in 800 years, it is implied that reaching it is extremely difficult. Additionally, for some unknown reason, the Log Pose cannot reset and point toward the next island on Lodestar Island and instead the needles will just spin.
Why not put all this energy into a job bro
4th Year astronautical engineering Student While also holding a job. Whats your excuse?
Damn nvm you win
still funny tho
facts
wheres robin?
I cant see luffy directly fighting gorosei before he interacts with shanks again. That whole dynamic changes when luffy learns more from shanks (or not)
Manga Spoilers
||I wanna talk about the scene where Manga Luffy bonks kaido in the forehead. The Scene shows little shading and color schemes to both characters. People say that it's because It's not finished yet or it's so fast and action packed with effects that they had to use little shading and barely any color scheme. No, What I think the reason for that is because it's part of the scene. It's meant to be in the anime.||
||The reason why they only used one shade of color for each character is to give it the simplistic vibe of a cartoon. Since Kaido did quote that "It looks like something that came from a comic script." That I think was what the designers are going for at that scene. You can see that the whole background and terrain is fully detailed with shading and such and not the characters. So I think this supports my theory. So expect a lot of reality changes and and bending when the episode airs.||
enies lobby was wiped off the map with the same weapon that lulusia was wiped off with
probably not the literal same one cause wasnt it recently made by vegapunk? But I figure he was recreating a previous version of the same weapon yeah
Oh thanks for reading it. The mother lode meaning fits a lot, but one never knows how deep Oda went with English meanings, he is not a native speaker after all. I don’t remember if I stated it in the theory but I expect Raftel to possibly be in the pole since it makes no sense for it to simply be standing after lodestar in the bit of grand line left between it and red line. Their only known city was made of gold so motherlode is a very good meaning for that. With the weather modification vegapunk has and permanent light like ennies lobby the ancient kingdom city being in the pole is very possible.
.
.
Oh lodestar is written in Japanese there, I was pretty sure I had seen a map with lodestar in English at some point
Oh maybe! I would love to see abetter updated map
to the ones who have read chapter 1089, u know the holle left by the destruction of lulusia, isnt it similar to enies lobby?
yep, hella simular but the weird thing is that there is still land at enies lobby but none at lulusia
Gland line xD
Tbh id love to see the gurusei facing the seraphim and tasting its own medicine
I look forward to seeing their face faults from Saturn and kizaru when dealing with the ridiculousness of the Strawhats.
If that would be the case than they can just override whatever command was given to them
Pretty sure that S-shark is broken, especially after Sanji dealt with him.
what if the egghead incident explodes into full on war with the gov, and the straw hats actually manage it with the help of the straw hat fleet and revolutionary army, and then the TRUE final arc is the actual race to the one piece vs blackbeard. oda might even put off luffy meeting shanks until the very end of the story,
could've been from a less powerful prototype
I wonder if vegapunk can override that now that he is on full war Vs the gorosei. As in reprogram them
Unless Devon take Saturn's appearance ( if its possible ) and issue counter order with a " dont listen to the next orders I'm gonna give you for the whole day "
Possible. But we dont know enough about how her df works. Bon clays powers were similar but he had to touch the person. Considering her df is mythical i would assume she only has to see/know how he looks. Besides the fact that i do not think she knows how he looks. For as far as we know, nobody besides the marines and the WG know that a Gorosei is there. I doubt even CP 0 knows.
Does anyone know where Oda said that the only panned Super Rookie from the begining was Kidd
I've heard the claim and there are a few theories active right now it could substantiate
Planned from get go but eliminated in 2 pages. RIP
Water 7 is slowly sinking. The current group of houses is built on top of the last group from at most a couple decades before.
Water 7 used to be on dry land, while Shipyard Island would be outside of the city. However, as centuries went by, as the water began to rise, the people of Water 7 would build new houses and buildings on top of the older buildings to survive.
Generations ago, the ancient weapon Pluton was constructed here, before it was shipped off to the Arabasta Kingdom. The blueprints, however, remained in Water 7 for generations.
Water 7 and the sea rising with the mother flame attack, I was going to say that these are all connected to enies lobby but they arent just litteralrily connected but physically almost like it was put in front of our faces the whole time.
I have theories:
The moon maybe smaller and in lower orbit and that helped the water level rise amoung other things.
Pieces of the moon landed on earth and created the red line.
Water 7 is an ancient weapon and so is wano.
One piece is the earth being whole again when the red line falls and the grandline is no longer needed creating the all blue, and all oceans being One Piece.
Will of D is more than one thing. It means the Dawn, the enemy of the of the night. It also means the Will to Smile in the worst of times, as well means that when the sun shines on the moon it looks like the moon is smiling and when it's a full moon, the moon is laughing.
Joy and happiness is the Will Of D for and brings excitement for the new dawn.
Strawhat symbolizes the new dawn rising over the redline..
That's it for now
The Devil Fruits are like the plastic that is in our food in real life. It's unnatural and is why the sea denies it and weakens DF users.
Try sbs that was after his introduction?
Why wasn't Robin in the last panel of the latest chapter with the rest of the strawhats?
hello:D
Answer to that will be revealed probably in two weeks
what if makino and luffy are siblings
On this idea, what about the water levels rising = natures counter action to devil fruits. World floods = no more df’s?
Nah she appears more like an mother figure to Luffy
@pearl tusk maybe? I mean in the manga the flame that destroyed the kingdom left a hole in the ocean so that makes water levels rise a meter.
Highly doubt it lol
I just read some crazy mythology on who Shanks is based on and not sure what to make of it 😧
Fill us in im interested
Any one waiting for zoro arc , associated with wano
You mean Zou arc?
Maybe shes up to something with the rest of cp0
she's in the only place in the world where information about the void century is being researched, pretty sure she's just absorbing as much info as possible
there is no other theory channel so im posting this here
i was watching episode 514 which IS a canon episode and i found this:
i cant paste my image?
ANYWAYS i'll explain it: SO at about 12:16 on ANIME episode 514 you can see a note from vegapunk and franky is looking through it and on that page is basically this rocket + devil fruit = rocket w/ devil fruit powers
and the image that is "rocket w/ devil fruit powers" looks like some kind of monkey/chimpanzee animal hybrid SO my theory is that there is a zoan devil fruit that turns the eater into a chimpanzee/monkey
i originally thought the image of the final result of "rocket + dvl fruit" was choppers fruit before he ate it but then i looked at the devil fruit and realized it wasnt choppers fruit ALSO im fairly sure baldimore is VERY far from drum island so i still believe that thats some kind of monkey zoan OH YEA and also who is eating the human fruit? to do what make you more human like the heck?
there could be some holes in this theory but i have little to no expirence with theorizing
SO ANY THOUGHTS?????
I often feel like I wanna correct people in here but I do not feel like putting up the effort. There are a lot of good attempts but some lack in evidence.
Too much assumption, also the weapon got its first test run on Lulusia as stated by the Gorosai. So not sorry, but that is not the case.
it is entirely possible the gorosei don't know about the VC
Ridicolous but funny. Let all ocean life die. Lol.
im not sure what dream is but i was never super convinced of giant party. Most of the strawhat reactions dont fit well with that imo
No, the test run of the weapon was at Lulusia as stated by the Gorosai. It was a buster call - but if you had Garp punch an island a bunch of times it would probably result in the same outcome.
it could be that the weapon was a recreation of a previous weapon that destroyed whatever was previous at ennies lobby
That’s very likely the case it’s very intentional to show the similarities between the 2
Technically, Imu is the government and the war already started, you can debate on when. With more Yonko falling, the world is also opting out for the government, now making more moves, as seen with Egghead. Cp0 and the Gorosai moving now.
It was stated that Vegapunk was part of creating it, the weapon even got a name. It could either be, that he provided the engine to power up an ancient weapon or that he made a copy. Vegapunk being probably the smartest character in OP.
a copy of uranus seems likely to me. Uranus is still otherwise missing from the story. Pluton is also a crafted thing that could theoretically be copied unlike nepture which probably cuoldnt be
You have to be trolling with all this, funny but yeah.
Neptune is being like Mermaid based, which is why you cannot copy it. It is also not tied to any DF, she just has the power to control those beasts. Anything else is speculation. The manga hyped up Vegapunk as the greatest genius of all time. Maybe he was able to make a copy.. Idk, they still want the original Vegapunk to die. If he would train Franky or Usopp, the arsenal of the crew would increase by a lot.
yeah with luffy sanji and zoro all powering up in wano, itd be nice to give a boost to some of the tech based people like usop franky nami so they can catch up a bit
I mean Nami got an update with Zeus - though I would assume Big Mom is still alive for him to exist but Idk - Nami´s weapon has been very reliant on Usopp upgrading. Franky just needs knowledge, I assume he already has the techical skill. Not sure about Usopp, I feel like, if he gets his full Haki and Oda hiding a ton of popstars, that have not been used yet, can make him work perfectly.
i think zues would live, big mom animated him into existence and she could take away his life force but its not my impression that shes actively sustaining it. Like ppl turned to stone by boa staying stone after her death. allegedly.
It was stated that he among the others, Napoleon and whatever, got to eat soul-energy from her. Since Brook had no effect. Boa is also a different story and her DF has a different condition to activate.
well yeah she steals the soul energy and uses it to make them? Or maybe fed them to increase life span? Or do you mean like passively all the time?
In terms of Admirals you might be right, Fujitora, Smoker and Korby have the character and ability. Maybe Helmeppo is only going to be a Vice-Admiral.
No, it was stated that Zeus, Napoleon got their life by Big Mom giving them her soul and not the soul-energy or whatever of the people. Hence those are different from like the laughing trees or whatever.
oh ok gotcha
Still vague if Big Mom survived the vulcano. So either Zeus is free now and goes with Nami or Big Mom is still alive.
I am not. In fact it would make sense since Eneru was able to get there on a flying golden ship
Eneru is also not a human tbf
Water 7 and Wano be an ancient, weapon, no. Yes a weapon lies underneath Wano but the island is not a weapon, lol.
The Redline existed way before, and all blue also already exist, hence the fish of all the blues popping off in other blues. That has evidence.
Also you make claims based of your headcannon, you do not provide an evidence to your theories.
Also DF being plastic is clearly a troll statement. Idk why I even responded to it. Like you are obviously trolling or an idiot.
That’s not evidence of the all blue tho
If it was conclusive evidence as easily proven as that people wouldn’t doubt it so much. The all blue is a place with fish from all 4 seas exist simultaneously not just some fish from sea A in sea B.
Correct, which is why nobody got evidence. We got like.. yeah South Blue Fish are in the east blue for some reason but that is about it.
Not sure, that was Sanjis interpretation of the All Blue (for me it is not an intersting thing in the OP universe to be honest), yes, fish are in different oceans and migrate. Maybe they use the tide of the Grandline to migrate into other oceans (Blues).
There’s literally no other interpretation of the all blue ever shown why would it be anything else.
He is however, able to travel to the moon in a short time. Even by rocket it takes 3 days
The Blues are connected by the redline though, to the grandline. Idk why an allblue is at the end of the grandline, when the blues are at the beginning.
Look man I don't care, buuuut how can a blind samurai pull meters out from space? His power is gravity. And frankly I don't like your attitude. You don't have to respond so don't be a dick.
cant he kinda see somehow? Like observation?
He can I mean meteors
Okay, you have to be trolling me on this. I was just putting out references, since your statements have been getting 3 laugh emojis before, and I have not seen this in a while. I just did find your take sort of troll, sort of funny and I am pretty sure you had your fun with it but your takes are getting worse. Guess what.. there is a guy.. who is the main character.. who has a skin like gum...
i dont think its any deeper than meteor being a common attack associated with gravity magic
Being far in space there can't be any that close to earth unless there is tons orbiting earth
I mean if you post it, anyone in public can respond to it, it is not a crime. Take care. I am pretty sure you are trolling and I am not going to feed a troll much more. - Also you talk about one guy - also awakened DF, also what do you know about asteroids.
I'm not, your problem is that you have an idea that you are an authority on the matter and you are extremely rude about it
There is no crime in posting theories. You have no authority here. If you want a convo then stop texting like you have a bone to pick with me.
MIght be a cultural difference, Idk where you from. But I am not using ans sort of insult but posting in a theory forum with like a ton of headcanon and statements that can easily be disproved, critique is quite normal.
Just please try to avoid ad hominems 🙂
Saying some one is trolling or an an idiot is not critique and you need to learn the definition
My bad, I am going to leave the discussion.
Sounds good
Doesn´t mean your theory is not full of flaws, and critique is not done on a malicious intent.
I won't deny its full of flaws. That's why it's a theory, and not cannon
comeon don't atleast doubt oda sensei's unpredictability.. sometimes theories that sounds most dumb comes true and best theories become false..
dumb theories coming true will obv have a better reasoning too.
what if Lulusia Kingdom is now a sky island
you suggest that instead of destroying, the weapon transports what it hits somewhere else?
Or sucks it straight up like the bege panel
I have a theory , one piece mid
I think lulusia’s been transported as well but pushed under the ocean, not sucked into the sky
It just got shoved really deep into the seabed, causing the sea to rise to make room for this additional earth
The water falling into the hole it left behind comes back out somewhere else, possibly water 7’s fountain given its proximity to enies lobby and its constant slow submersion
Either smushed and flattened out like a weird pancake/donut or literally shoved into the ground, both work
HOLY MOLY PEPERONNI
that'd make the most sense. Pushing the gravity to make the island go deep, then creating a gravity well where the water can't go in, forming a hole
No , like maybe zoro’s ancestors may come from wano right , that story
Wasn’t it was that already confirmed in the sbs
Zoro is a descendant of ryuma wano’s greatest swordsman on his mother’s side. He and kuinahis childhood friend are cousins
Or do you want an arc that details why zoro’s grandmother and her kinsman left Wano and made their way to east blue
Yes
Well don’t see how there will be a flashback arc since all the ones who@made the journey are dead. The one who probably knows is zoro’s uncle/ teacher but he’s back in east blue. I doubt anyone in Wano knows the details and plus all members of the main Shimotsuki family are dead
I have a theory that Shanks and Mihawk will make an alliance. Shanks has openly stated his move for the one piece and we know him and Mihawk are close, so he might request his help. This would also align with the Mihawk vs Zoro arc because then the premise is actually set. Can you imagine Luffy achieving his dream and then Zoro wonders off afterwards to achieve his?
After the strawhats disband. Zoro will either get lost, go back to east blue or even reestablish the Shimotsuki family in Wano.
Exactly. Which is why Zoro has to achieve his dream sometime before Luffy achieves his. But then again my theory states that itll be in the final arc so that Zoro isnt irrelevant afterwards
I’m betting he goes back to his village, with some help from his crew to tell his master and kuina’s grave he is now the strongest swordsman. Could be then there will be a short flashback of his master explaining how the Shimotsuki branch settled in east blue. Later soror after learning of his heritage will most likely change his name and return to Wano to continue his ancestor’s legacy. I’m betting on this as he already has someone in Wano who like him, hiyori
how can law use corazons' power? the silence one
because the op op fruit is op. Or its awakening allows the user to manipulate rooms so law made a room that silences
So, my theory is that the Boa seraphim ran into Luffy during her rampage, realized he was immune to her powers and promptly got infatuated with him to the point she switched sides and helped them get everything else under control.
It’s more of an inspired attack. Like luffys red hawk is inspired by ace.
Makes sense. Given that the real boa’s powers works on pacifistas during the war summit which are basically clones of Kuma they should work on S-Bear as well. The real Hawkeye was immune to Boa’s beauty but his younger version s-Hawk is noted to be more human by Zoro so he could be turned into stone
Also since the op op was awakened we can assume law can now perform surgery on things other than living things. This includes removing sound from his room.
he can freely control the things in his room, creating a small vaccumm on the outside will pretty much kill any sound escaping that bubble if u think abt it
The best theory I have heard is the simplest Robin/Chopper/Atlas found York and forced her to call off the seraphim.
Law can manifest an area where he controls everything inside ( an operation room ) if he wants the sound to go away from this room he can do it , he just thought about this because of Corazon
Atlas could also have taken the guise of York when she found out she was the one who gave the orders and counter ordered all the seraphim, too
Hm the cleansing part is interesting
Come on he is not restablishing a family even if he knew about it, he is a roaming lone samurai character.
Wasn’t his ancestor ryuma like that? And in the end he had descendants
It's possible that Imu stole Uranus and destroyed it (unwillingly ) by over-using it doing the " Great Cleasing " 800 years ago and now try to replicate it
So I said earlier that the moon is smaller and closer to the earth's orbit right?
Eneru got there by golden ship, he isn't human so he can do that even if the moon was in its normal size and orbit.
But remember the robot drones he found on the moon? He reactivated them. And they went back to the sea where they gathered Intel and when back to the moon. Do you guys recall what they used to get back there?
Weather Balloons.
So there is a point where a even a weather balloon can't go any higher. So though my theory is flawed I stand by that maybe the Moon is closer to earth and is smaller and people over time wouldn't notice.
It's possible that the moon WAS Uranus, or the location of the Ancient Weapon. It reduced the moon into a barren wasteland after its intensive use and became depleted
The direct hits don’t need the target to be infatuated or anything, it works on inanimate objects
Maybe an ancient weapon blew part of it up like Sonic Adventure 2 style
Conveniently, the gravity of the moon regulate the seas, so playing with the moon altitude CAN provoke a great flood
But it was fired from earth 🌎, but also because of the blind samurai guy in the navy can pull meteors from orbit tells me there is a lot of moon rocks in orbit
Moon gravity causes a flood on one side and a de flood in the other half of the globe
in the one piece world where there are ancient cities and facilities on the moon, there might be more to this
Well wano has large walls. Incase of flooding increased.
The got flooded by those walls and they are absurdly high for that purpose
They would be the biggest idiots in the world if they built that to avoid being flooded and ended up flooded because of the walls
Yeah but an ancient weapon is down there too. So I wonder if that has hanything to do with it
the walls had for main purpose to hide Pluton and prevent people outside of wano to get their hands on it. Pretty sure that Pluton is a world moving or land creating device, and that it was last used to create wano's wall before being sealed away
True, the only reason I bring up wano is because in Japan and most island countries are at the mercy of the moons tide.
I wonder if the The Flame from last chapter was the anti pluton if that was the case
anyway it's almost given that the Muddaflame is an astral body with huge gravitational force , and it could strongely be tied with the stuff Capone ended up when entering the Grand Line
Yeah, I thought that was BlackBeard just sucking up land with his power. But your idea makes sense too.
Supernova capone bege enters the new world
So how long has the redline been around? Seems to me it was made during or before the void century. The all blue is no more until the redline is destroyed.
it's implied that the all blue is existing, Sanji found fishes not belonging into the seas they were in.
My guess if there is one place left where all the seas meet - its under reverse mountain. Since technically, they all meet at the top already, but not on a scope large enough to make a sea ( and even the name " reverse mountain " is sus as hell )
Yeah that's what I thought, but another poster was giving me "issues" over it.
But if you destroy Marygeoris or how ever it is spelled, you might get the all blue.
Someone else came up with a theory about the redline's destruction and how it would make the all blue possible
The last attempt to use it before it ran out of fuel
Or the attempt caused an opposing reaction? Since this weapon was made by VegaPunk one would assume, and when that first try happened you saw the aftermath.
Also can anyone tell me the meeting between kingdoms, are all those kingdoms in the grandline? I mean isn't it odd that those kingdoms are there? And not across the globe?
Its all the kingdoms that gave up to WG + alabasta
That can't be fully true since east blue bows down to the wg as well?
The original royalty all gave land up to WG for them to instal their own regimes/or for next gen to takeover in exchange for safety of mariejoa. Except alabasta
Or you mean the ones in the grandline that did bow down too the WG, that's what you mean right
Its the same story in east blue also afaik. I dont think we know enough about like rest of world
Maybe the kingdoms decided to move to the grandline and they gave the rest of the world too the WG. That's also why they are situated in the grandline.
Thats exactly how it happened. They didnt decide though, WG 800 years ago gave them an ultimatum. Join us or be against us, alabasta is the exception as they “joined” but kept their royal lineage going
I wonder if alabasta's queen is imu. Or at least Imu's vessel.
Yea thats a theory. Lot of mystery behind the queen of alabasta from that era. Not to mention they reference a mistske made that caused the poneyglyphs to be spread out
Two JoyBoy Theory
What if the Lurking Legend is Joyboy" himself. In wano Who's who tells tht joyboy stories became legend and Gorosei tells tht the fruit was Lurking the op world this whole time. And as oda said the legend will appear in wano but the only Legend who emerge in wano was joyboy himself.
But how can he be strawhats enemy if Luffy is Joyboy.
So I think there is another "joyboy" he may be " Imu".And he will be Strawhats biggest enemy.
Luffy become a legend who emerged from wano , entered a supernova and left a legend yonkou
He was already a Yonkou when he left from Big Moms territory. But I guess it's the WG who recognized Luffy as a Yonkou after wano so yeah still tracks.
Also Umi is Japanese for river and Its Imu spelled backwards.
Kizaru death theories 👀 enies lobby becomes dark
thanks
So we know now because Zoans have a will that can be transferred to inanimate objects. You can make a Rocket Monkey. But the other pieces there look like cylinders going into the back for some reason seems suspicious.
Enies Lobby used to be something to do with the ancient kingdom
After Imu took a shit on Lulusia, we saw in chapter 1089 that theres a giant hole in the sea where it once was...
THAT'S LITERALLY ENIES LOBBY
So I think that Imu must've used the mother flame on whatever Enies Lobby used to be (probably something to do with the ancient kingdom) and covered it up by building the new government station there
Or maybe the mother flame was reproduced and Enis Lobby was around when the ancient weapons were used.
maybe uranus or pluton was used on it and once the ancient weapons went away or whatever i dont remember if there was confirmation about that but after they realized its power they got vegapunk to clone it, so the mother flame is just an ancient weapon but not an ancient weapon
Maybe, what ever it was tho, it caused the oceans to rise. So I wonder if the weapon really destroyed the island or moved it, or crushed it? And I wonder if Enis Lobby used to be the home of the Lunarians.
true, maybe they wiped out that area because thats where the lunarians were, but then i kinda doubt it because they moved king to punk hazard fairly recently, like 30 years ago from the current time, and im pretty sure it would've been demolished way earlier than that, but honestly it could have been covered up very easily, its a central government station after all that no one is allowed to go to
is the onigashima skull an ancient giant? theres a giant sword near it
Well the name Lunarians has Lunar in it, which is refrence to the moon as well. So the mother flame maybe sending places to the moon?
a lot of theories say it could be something to do with joyboy or it just IS joyboy, i kinda disagree with that BUT the biggest piece of evidence is the giant straw hat in mariejois that we saw when imu went over to it which the giant could've easily worn if it was that big
theres a giant strawhat as well, maybe people from the void centuries are giants
what are our theories about pluton and if the walls are broken that it's an ancient weapon
also is it possible that Imu didn't use an ancient weapon but actually a DF power to wipe lulusia? we see he can take shadow form when he's mad at cobra and sabo
huh, thats interesting. also about your previous message, when lulusia got destroyed, it said the global sea level raised by approx 1 meter, and from what i can remember (there could be more places) water seven and wano have been building up for a long time
I figure that the ancient weapon was wano and the walls just keep it out of the hands of the WG
how can wano itself be an ancient weapon?
You build a city on it, hide it in plane sight. Just an idea tho I don't have much on that theory other than a guess.
i mean, it was known to be an insanely powerful country and didnt have the world government's authority, mainly because of ryuma
why does in episode 1070 where zunesha said "i can hear it" the stones in front looks like giant samurais
because he is close to wano?
yeah'
also I have a theory about Buggy's importance in the story:
The idea is that remember when Roger landed on rafatel but buggy got sick so he couldn't go? And then after Roger finds out what the treasure is he laughs? Here's my theory:
The reason the world is chaotic and has mismatched currents etc. is because it was cut up in ancient times and reassambled by a combination of the Chop Chop fruit and Law's Op Op fruit. Buggy is shown to be able to reassamble his body even when it's cut up, another interesting piece of that story which if you think about it if you had awakened DF powers could cause a lot of ocean current chaos etc. as we see in the Grand line. This is why Roger laughs - buggy is actually quite important
Another few things:
I believe Buggy secretly has a D. and/or very powerful haki - think about how many followers he amassed with Cross Guild after Impel down and that fiasco (remember how will of D draws people to you)
I'm not gonna poo poo the idea of buggy being a secret ringer for the story, but to me it's alot more fun if it's all by accident that this stuff keeps happening. Like a ride he can't get off of.
Batteries. Also on board with buggy gaining ACOC. In near future
Yeah and it showed a human skull being put on a gorilla body. I wonder if that failed.
yup!
Also this isn't super sound evidence but Oda has said buggy is his fav char ... so maybe that means he'll become even more important
“On a ride he can’t get off of” is a great way to describe buggys adventure.
Oda said it was because he was easy to draw
buggy is a fucking goober who has risen up through the ranks by accident, thats how i view it
also this is a questiion more than theory (kinda) but given that Imu is immortal that implies someone used Ope Ope Perennial Youth on him - who co uld that hve been?? 💀
We dont know for sure hes immortal. It would explain a lot but also open door to even more questions.
i mean who else could it be unless its an obito-madara impersonating type of bait
We dont know anybody has had the ope ope surgery done , we jsut know it exists right
I dont think we are going to see anything as twisted as obito madar but never know for sure. If IMU is from 200-800 years ago…seems wild that its taken so long for them to take action or be discovered etc. wouldnt they have interefered at god valley or other events we know about
For someone who can make another person immortal, there has to be something with the Ope Ope fruit that bypasses aging or transferring of souls or something.
My next theory:
Imu and Sugar are parallels - here's why
Remember how Sugar has the ability to turn people into toys? That mindlessly follow orders and have no free will?
Now, let's remember what vegapunk said about the devil fruits ... they came from the DESIRES/DREAMS of people
Doesn't that seem a little fishy? So here's why I think the theory's crux lies:
What if Imu has the power to turn people into devil fruits? Fruits that contain (as i said above) their DESIRES/DREAMS. This would also explain the concept of "inherited will", since a devil fruit regrows after it's user dies (like how the Will of D passes on through generations). Following with this theory, ever wonder why Joyboy/Nika wasn't ever recorded in the annals of history? Even in any remote tribes or races? It's because the Zoan model Nika fruit was literally Nika but Imu turned him into that - it also explains why by fate luffy ate the DF: he shares the Will of D - NIKA'S DREAMS/DESIRES THAT ARE LITERALLY EMBEDDED IN THAT FRUIT
I believe it kills the user in exchange for the immortality on patient,
Yeah and I wanna know how that would work
Magic lol. Thats interesting theory neclo. We really dont dig into the “HOW” of how devil fruits appear, we only know the “WHY”
The DF were probably made from ancient technology. The Will of D is, to me, the will to smile and laugh at the brand new dawn in the face of those who want a sad world.
The will of zoan fruits have animal wills, so Nika being in a fruit makes sense but I think the DF is actually something that someone wanted to become. Like a child saw Nika from a picture book and said make me into that and they made a devil fruit with all those characteristics in mind including personality.
My theory on will of D is ancient “cult” that some families belonged too but were forced to keep secret. And likely had to do with the start of devil fruits
@pearl tusk I like that one too
One thing that I would like to note @pearl tusk @spice path is that the Will of D is connected to the moon. This was said by Oda's editor saying it has something to do with the moon. Then when Oden died it hit me. Doesn't his smile look like a Cresent moon? As if it's reflecting off the oil?
To me, it's clear that dragons play a very important role in the one piece universe (even if it isn't explained yet). In Jaya on the sky island, we see the Shandians literally worshipping a huge snake, calling it a deity. That huge snake resembles a dragon
Also, when Imu's sillhouette is shown as he's attacking cobra and sabo, it looks like, well, an axolotl. What are they also known as?
Water dragons.
more evidence of this is that in the anime in a certain frame, we see Gol D. Roger's ship, the Oro Jackson, carrying a huge egg. What could hatch out of that egg that they probably found on laugh tale? a dragon
This implies Imu has a human and a dragon form (silhouette) (in eastern mythology this is a common occurence)
And yet here's where my theory gets interesting: I'm contradicting what I just said because ... I don't actually believe the axolotl form is Imu's "alternate form".
I believe that Imu was originally an axolotl. Remember how king Neptune talked about how creatures such as Shirahoshi are born evern hundreds of thousands of years - destined to be the "god" or extremely powerful "weapon" of that age? To me, that's what Imu is.
For further proof of his "god like" capabilities - I believe Imu has the ability to control the weather and the seas, explaining why the Grand line has such wild weather patterns. if you reverse the name Imu, 'Umi' in japanese literally means "mother" in arabic and 'sea' in japanese. This means that Imu is literally "Mother Sea". remember how it's a common phrase "don't mess with mother nature" or mother sea or some equivalent? IN the one piece verse that literally means 'dont mess with imu' since he's the god of the age (as stated earlier) and the one who can control the weather and seas
Maybe? This
WAIT OMG I HAVE ANOTHER THEORY NOW THANKS BRO HOLY SHIT
Theory 2 about Imu: Imu is the moon god
Remember how Enel said he wanted to find the "world of dreams" and yet how few can access it at a time? The eternal amazing happy world? And then how he goes to the moon?
@sudden heart what you just said made me realize - that wasn't a coincidence. The moon is literally the world of dreams. This provides an interesting parallel between Nika "the sun god" and now Imu "the moon god" ...
Furthermore - this provides an alternate explanation for Imu's abilities. Its possible that actually, Imu's ability is he can temporartily use any DF ability but only for a short time since the "world of dreams" is both the moon but also represents devil fruit powers".
Imu could be from the moon for all we know. And since alabasta kingdom's queen disappeared, it may be the case that she is thr Will of D and is from the Moon and maybe even from the part of the moon that has light shinning on it or darkness.
there's another thing that supporst her being from the moon:
Alabasta's queen, Lili, is inspired from a real life queen named Queen Nefertiti - often suspected to be an alien because of a super elongated head and not from Earth
There you have it, very good.
The egg is such a mystery
Now I am starting to think I know what Luffy's dream is going to be once revealed.
Luffy's dream that makes people laugh and look at him that he is stupid.
Luffy and Gol D Roger, their dream was to go to the moon.
the one major opponent of our theory with Imu and the moon is that blackbeard's devil fruit being shadow is arguably the representation of the moon, not Imu
Black beard is a man who can't sleep. Therefore can't dream, his hope is to go to the world of dreams. The moon.
imagine one piece turns into a space exploration manga lol
I actually tried to make something like that, it was going to be a star trek Shonen manga, but from what I heard Eden Zero beat me to that idea.
The egg is on the ship before they reach laughtale
I forgot about that egg! I wonder if the Egg is one piece and Roger found it only to return it to where it was supposed to go on laughtale. I mean it could have been left from before the void century and then taken to laughtale for safe keeping.
That’s a lot of speculation we don’t even know if it’s actually an egg or just building shaped like one
True. I mean I saw models where it was an egg from toei toy line
The more I think of it, the more I am starting to think that the world of dreams invaded the world of one piece.
Maybe the Devil fruits are actually from people's dreams and desires, they were manifested some how.
The moon... the will of d... dreams and desires.... what if the Will of D is simply the Will to Dream? I only try to prove my own theories wrong because that's how it should be done.
I also wonder if Joyboy was just a cartoon character and Roger laughed because he got to see a cartoon called JoyBoy.
I don't know about that, but I don't want to say no to it either. It's because when someone asked about Luffy's mom, Oda said she wouldn't be a beautiful woman. I think that's why we have Dadaan but maybe he changed his mind later on.
The caveat with all the D theories is garp kinda. If it was this known thing, surely imu would want to rid of garp asap.
Not really. It's a lot easier to control something than stamp out something. You can't destroy the Will of D since it's something that people inherit through will. Garp may have had a dream to be a hero. Seems like everyone who has a D in their name has a big dream to follow. Maybe.
Yea like its less good or bad and more big aspirations
Yes, a man's dream will never die, it gets passed on to the next generation.
theory: dragon's devil fruit is the rain god fruit. First of all ever since dragon showed up to logue town and was probably the one who saved luffy with the lightning strike sanji and smoker said was that a god? which may be foreshadowing and another thing i wanna say is i think dragon has been watching luffy ever since alabasta with his wind+observation haki. before king cobra said i am not a god that can control the weather... and when luffy defeated crocodile, it started raining so could that be a God? It most likely be dragon
i think the alabasta thing is a bit of a stretch, but i definitely believe dragon has some sort of weather devil fruit
Well when crocodile lost, his power to keep the rain away and the green dust was cut off. So that's why the rain came back.
I think dragon could be a zoan mythical tho that controls wind. Could be a wind God?
Another dragon variant
yeah true actually it might be but i feel like dragon defo has some god like powers bc since luffy has sun god powers it would be father like son
Maybe, it's very possible. But I think Nika is called a Sun God isn't because he controls the power of the sun, he makes people feel like they are free like the sunshine.
.
yooo that makes a lot of sense now that i think abt it 😂
Yeah, sun pirates were formally slaves, sun represents freedom.
There was probably a picture book that was called "Nika The Sun God" where he brought people joy around the world by making them laugh and dance and sing. And some how it became a devil fruit.
Imagine its the character from street fighter
More and more convinced that the will of the D is the will of the Dream.
Dream are a huge thematic and learning that devil's fruit are born from dream make me wonder if the original name was not " dreaming fruit"
I seriously doubt a simple children’s book could spawn such a legend. Nika is likely the name of Joyboy
The Gorosei's Ultimate Desire from Vegapunk
As of chapter 1089, the Gorosei are currently in a position of weakness where they are shown to be backpedaling on everything they initially intended to do at Egghead. Although this may come off as incompetency, I believe that they are operating in alignment with their ultimate desire from Vegapunk: the Mother Flame. In this theory, I'll go over Vegapunk's association with the World Government and peel the onion on the Gorosei's goals with the Mother Flame.
When did MADS disband? In the past, Vegapunk worked in the illegal research group called MADS. The World Government learned of their research into Bloodline elements and forced them to disband but allowed certain scientists like Vegapunk to continue working for them (ch840). It is unclear exactly when MADS was dissolved, but we have several data points to use as referencs:
- Queen silhouette can be seen in Oden's flashback 20 years ago (ch970). We're also told that Kaido and other former Rocks Pirates began creating their own crews 33 years ago (ch962). It's a swing but I'll assume that Queen joined his crew sometime between 33-20 years ago.
- Judge escaped the WG's clutches and continued his research at Germa Kingdom. There he married Sora and had their eldest Reiju, who is 24 years old present time (ch846 and ch852).
- A lesser known fact is that Buckingham Stussy was a part of MADS for some time. She was also a part of the Rocks Pirate crew, which indicates that MADS had a relationship with the legendary pirate crew (ch1073). However the Rocks Pirates have been erased from history ever since the God Valley incident 38 years ago (ch957). Another point is that Stussy is the mother of Weevil, a 31 year old former Warlord that is purported to be Whitebeard's son.
With all this being said, I'll be aggressive and claim that MADS began to lose its financial support after God Valley and was forced to dissolve 38-31 years ago. This may help explain Weevil's patchy features.
Why did Vegapunk join the WG? The cover story from ch1075 shows Vegapunk celebrating his new employment with the World Government. Twenty two years ago months after the Ohara Buster Call, Vegapunk has a spontaneous meeting with Dragon. In this discussion, Vegapunk affirms that he'd rather ally with the World Government who could become a reliable shield for him (ch1066). Also in present time, the Vegapunk clones have all echoed the sentiment that their allotted budget is not enough to pursue their scientific goals:
- Lilith express frustration in her limited budget (ch1062)
- Atlas expresses frustration in her lack of budget or competent personnel to mass-produce her creations (ch1062)
When did Vegapunk make his clones and take York go to Marijoa? Vegapunk has been to Marijoa on more than one occasion. When York revealed herself to be the traitor, the Stella exclaimed "what nonsense is this York?! You went to Marijoa years ago!!" (ch1078). Let's superimpose this piece of info with knowledge that Bonney has been to Egghead before as a child and does not recognize Vegapunk's clone Atlas or Stella without his giant head (ch1062 and ch1067). Moreover, there was a time where Vegapunk led chemical weapons testing at Punk Hazard 4 years ago (ch684).
Although it is possible Vegapunk has created his clones in installments, I'm making the assumption that they were made in succession after Bonney's visit. Noting that Kuma joined the Revolutionary Army 22 years ago, I believe it's fair to assume Bonney's visit was after that because it'd be irrational for a 2 year old to remember things about Egghead (ch1066). For those reasons, I'm going to assume that Bonney was anywhere from 8-14 years old, her visit may have happened sometime 16-10 years ago.
I'll wager that Vegapunk took either some or all of his clones to Marijoa let's say within the past 10-4 years. York definitely joined Vegapunk in that visit to Marijoa.
When did the Gorosei request Vegapunk to make the Mother Flame? Clearly this is a weapon of incredible destructive power. Although this runs antithesis to the mostly peaceful creations he's made, his monologue about Punk Records shows he will do whatever it takes to advance scientific discovery (ch1067). He doesn't worry about the morality if the advancement would pioneer a new realm of science. His knowledge on the Void Century coupled with the Gorosei's request to make the Mother Flame must have been endlessly interesting that it overrode any concern that this may be used to unjustly punish people.
We do know that by the end of the latest Reverie, the World Government are in possession of the Mother Flame (ch1086). Given the careful consideration the Gorosei took when they were tipped off that Vegapunk is studying the Void Century, I'll guess that they received the Mother Flame at least 3 months prior to the Egghead Incident we're seeing in present time (ch1078). To sum, I believe that the Gorosei gave Vegapunk a list of requirements for the Mother Flame the last time he was at Marijoa (10-4 years ago) and only recently did they receive the first prototype (at least 3 months ago).
When did York tip off the WG? It would not be of any service to York to tip them off when she did not have a safeguard (like the knowledge of how to make the Mother Flame) to protect her. Also throughout the past three months Cipher Pol agents weren't able to return to the WG, much less acquire the Mother Flame prototype (ch1078). Also as a clone of Vegapunk, her scientific avidity may have overruled her plans to sell out the Stella for a position as a Celestial Dragon. At the end of the day, anything is possible but I believe York did not tip off the WG until the Mother Flame prototype was complete.
Why did the Gorosei want to kill the creator of this prototype? Obviously we've seen the destructive power that the Mother Flame has on Lulusia (ch1060). However, my big question is: If the Mother Flame is so important, why would they even entertain the idea of assassinating the 7 Vegapunks? Because it did NOT work. The Gorosei likely expected more devastation on par with the giant hole that exists in Enies Lobby. Regrettably, that was not the case when you look at the immediate aftermath of what was left of the Lulusia Kingdom. I think the Gorosei believed that the Mother Flame was a failure, which is why they permitted the Vegapunks to be assassinated. Moreover, they were aware that this weapon may lead to environmental disasters like tsunamis, which is why they immediately issued a tsunami warning after destroying Lulusia (ch1060).
Fortunately, like his artificial devil fruit research (ch1067), I believe Vegapunk replicated the most important elements of the Mother Flame perfectly. It just took 6 days for its devastating capabilities to reach critical mass and be in full display. This is why the Gorosei suddenly changed their tune and were willing to yield to every single one of York's whims/demands; they want to use this weapon more than once at any cost. Unfortunately, York was only presenting the illusion of control. When she bawled her eyes out at the end of their conversation, we learn that the Straw Hats, CP0, and Vegapunk were all listening into this conversation. Although I'm sure Vegapunk was able to connect the dots, the Straw Hats and CP0 are unaware of the World Government's involvement on the erasure of Lulusia (ch1089).
The Gorosei have spent years bringing Vegapunk under the WG's umbrella and pursue scientific endeavors that enriched both the WG and the Marines. This is why we have seastone ship hulls, the Seraphims, and now the Mother Flame. Although Vegapunk is a perfectionist, the Gorosei are much more practical and realize that they need to do everything in their power to ensure the safety of the production process of the Mother Flame and its peculiar fuel source that can only be made in Egghead. The Gorosei realize that if they can freely use the Mother Flame, they can end an ancient battle that they've been waging for a very long time (ch1086).
Is perfectionism from Stella also in York? I feel that it isn't. Since she already betrayed the other VPs, I think it safe to say she wouldn't care if it works she just produce it.
It's a good question. We've seen several Vegapunk clones have pride in their research & creations (e.g Lilith, Edison, and Atlas). I think it's a fair assumption that regardless of how checked out York has been this arc, she is still a Vegapunk at heart. Even the Gorosei see York as competent as Vegapunk or else they wouldn't be asking her to replicating the Mother Flame in ch1089.
Not to disagree with anything you said of course
What do you think the Mother Flame is? @steady prism I just can't think it's a cluster bomb that blows the island to hell. It feels like it pushed the island down, maybe even drowned it?
No worries man. It's hard to say honestly because we have very little information on the Mother Flame. Because of that, there are many ideas and variations that are technically possible. I know some people are talking about the possibility it's Uranus or a replica of it in #manga-serious .
All I can firmly believe in is that the Mother Frame was designed to make a giant hole in the ocean akin to the hole we saw Enies Lobby. What we saw at Ch1060 was not the end of it. That's the one hill I'm certain of.
@steady prism why do people think it's Uranus? Other than that it's hilarious saying Uranus fired the mother flame.
Replied in #manga-serious
seeing parvision theory and latest chapter i come to conclusion that aokiji final opponent will be coby someone who truly inherit garp will .Koby sense of justice is something that aookiji strive to have at some point of story ( ohara) but he just dont stand on it when it most matter. Aokiji vs kobe will be perfect clash of ideologies .See parvision video for complete explanation.
I think that Nami grew a devil fruit on the sunny and the merry and she fed one to the sunny to make it stronger due to the spirit of the ship wanting to carry the crew to laughtale and she also gets the light light fruit after kizaru gets folded
Nami can't eat a devil fruit, because it would make her stronger than zoro, that's such nonsense. i don't think oda would agree..
Nah
But Fortnite no builds mode on a Saturday
Bb and luffy are parallels and their crews kinda reflect eachother, except with aoikiji. And there will be a twist in egghead that kizaru betrays the wg and joins luffy. Then when bb and luffy fight it'll be fair.
I don't think that Garp is dead nor does Luffy know anything about what happened to his grandpa but what's your basis for that?
They meant garp is the grim reaper
is the "end goal" of this ancient battle just wipe out all the Ds? Or all the pirates? Because I remember Imu mentioning how the D. aren't really a huge threat b/c it hasn't been revealed to them or us what their true purpose is ...
My theory on D is kind of normie but it's that they were the chosen guardians for the Ancient weapons - which is why the WG fought them anyway bc they wanted those weapons
!theories friendly reminder that this channel is for long in-depth theories with evidence/reasoning. Please take shorter ideas to #manga or #manga-serious
@errant pasture interesting thought, could you please add a link to Parvision’s theory to your message above? That way others can look into the theory you’re referencing more easily
@hard sierra not the place for powerscaling. Please use #manga
@wide cloud @past parcel @pearl tusk please don’t make one-line statements here. If you have an idea, please provide the necessary evidence/reasoning to support it. Else, use #manga instead
@sand isle with film red showing a chibi Thousand Sunny, there might be something there. However how do you think Nami fed a df to an object? Also your Kizaru comment seems to come out of nowhere because you’d be implying Kizaru dies. Do you have any evidence/reasoning to support that claim?
@boreal skiff why would Kizaru join Luffy’s crew? He seems to be very comfortable being a “cog in the machine” of the WG based on ch1089. In fact, he has always been comfortable taking action for the Marines/WG as we’ve seen in Sabaody or his self-nomination to go to Wano after hearing about BM and Kaido’s alliance. So why would he defect?
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. This channel is for serious discussion- please read the channel description. Posts here must be in paragraph form, preferably with evidence, not just a one line open question.
@willow moon sharing links to a theory is fine, but we always ask people provide a short summary of the theory they're referencing. A few sentences going over the premise and 2-3 pieces of evidence/reasoning it uses would be enough. Could you please edit your message and add that summary?
it's just a theory about the fall of the red line i believe it has been discussed a million times here 💀
If you'd rather not, then you're welcome to share it on #manga or #manga-serious as-is
So I made a theory about something else before this and came up with this idea while talking to someone;
What if the mother flame is just a cloned ancient weapon? Hear me out,
we saw the hole where Lulusia was and it's just like the one at Enies Lobby, so what made them use it on Enies Lobby? Well if I'm not wrong, the mother flame was made in recent times, so what if something to do with the ancient kingdom was there before enies lobby was put there to cover up what happened?
It would've been easy to cover it up as no one outside the WG is allowed to go to that area, so hear me out, if it was a long time ago, what if they used an ancient weapon to destroy whatever was there, and now vegapunk cloned it and that's what the mother flame weapon is?
(if my entire theory is debunked by one thing I forgot thats my fault but lmk)
@grim harness sharing links to your theory is fine, but we always ask people provide a short summary of the theory they're referencing. A few sentences going over the premise and 2-3 pieces of evidence/reasoning it uses would be enough. Could you please edit your message and add that summary to it?
Adding one more sentence isn't enough. You've stated your premise and only cited Lulusia. Please write a proper summary.
as someone who's watched castle in the sky i wou ld say that yes i do see some "borrowed" concepts but at the same time they're very "generic" concepts that anyone could come up with
Oh I’m not saying the whole story is based off of it. I was really just using it as a comparison while adding connections. I think even without the comparisons my idea revolving around it is still the same.
@grim harness feel free to repost once you have a proper summary
crocodile was using his power to stop the rain in alabasta, thats why he was so weak against luffy
No he used rain dance powder
He lost because he got cocky pretty much. He demolished luffy multiple times but didn’t finish him then got stuck in a enclosed space vs a faster opponent
CROCODILE IS LUFFYS MOM
Real
He lost because somehow some blood (wich would dry very quickly while being in luffy's hands) somehow has the same effect as throwing a bucket of water at crocodile.
As just like Gomu Gomu no mi is actually a Mythical Zoan. And Blackbeard is polar opposite of Luffy. What if Yami Yami no mi is not actually logia either but is also a Mythological Zoan of some beast ? BB knew this and was desperate to get it. And now he's actually not after a zoan but a logia/paramecia!?!
Well it might take some time
Gawd that's a terrible idea
Making a fruit Paramecia to Zoan was a good idea?
Atleast not like 2 times brother
It can be possible.
Highly unlikely, oda isn't that kind of person to do that opposite shit the sun to the moon
So the next fruit should Be a Zoan then. A mythical zoan like Luffy's for BB.
Not necessarily Moon but something else
Again just no
Zoro will be the straw hat who dies
So if you had a hole in the ocean, what oda logic causes it to increase sea levels?
The same type of stuff that makes earthquakes cause tsunamis
Faster currents
because that water tthat was in the hole gets pushed outwards
Aokiji the middle man: A man who has seen atrocities from both sides of life. The crimes of absolute justice and the failures of freedom. Kuzan knows about dragon , luffy and ace, about how they failed Garp’s vision. Aokiji is aware of the influence of pirates. If whitebeard had won the war there would have been a rising scourge of pirates and a decline of confidence in justice. I am convinced that kuzan is not done developing his perspective of the world. He joined Blackbeard to understand the worst possible outcome of freedom that is Blackbeard. A man with nothing to hold him back and use people as he pleases to reach the top only to put the world in chaos. Kuzan is a man of freedom who questions it. He saved Saul and robin as a marine. Saved life of smoker as a rogue. They might have been for personal reasons but I feel aokiji was unsure himself. I’m afraid that in aokiji’s pursuit of finding an answer he will aid Blackbeard just enough to the point where he won’t be able to stop him later. We all shove him into a good guy category where time and time again he has proven to be unreliable in expected situations such as marineford and fullalead. He is like us, unable to find the definitive answer to the world’s problems.
What if sea levels were always at a normal level, BUT what if using the ancient weapons or Imu using their powers, caused the sea levels to rise?
This way, Islands were more seperated, easier to rule over AND they could hide any secrets.
Having higher sea levels means more room for dangerous creatures, Fishmen are deeper down below, you're more likely to get stranded, and if you are caught by the Marines/World government, you got nowhere to go and your ships/boats can get destroyed/damaged, making escape almost impossible.
Guys sea level rising isn't because of the lulusia incident. It's because of global warming akainu and aokiji are cause of global warming remember punk hazard his use of devil fruit is causing global warming he is like CFC (Chloro Flouro Carbons) he is gonna cause a ozone layer hole in op world. Aokiji =CFC and akainu= all other toxic gases from magma.
The hole in Enies Lobby might have been a result from Uranus (or whatever was the void century equivalent of the Mother Flame) being used on the Ancient Kingdom, not God's Valley like some people have been saying. For starters, Oymo and Kashi had been guarding Enies Lobby since even before the Gods Valley incident, and since itd be pretty weird if they were just like on the island in the middle of the incident, im saying its unlikely that the hole used to be God's Valley. Number 2: After Lulusias earthquake, the narrator said such an earthquake hadnt been felt in recorded history, and since the Ancient Kingdom was overtaken in the Voud Century, that adds up. Number 3: there arent really that many other mysterious islands aside from God's Valley, Laugh Tale and the Ancient Kingdom, so if the hole really is a result from an island being destroyed (as is implied by ch. 1089) then there arent that many options
if theres any details i missed that would indicate it not being the Ancient Kingdom, please tell me redpectfully. I heard people say "the hole isnt big enough" etc, but other than that i havent heard something that disproves this yet, other than some theories of it being Laugh Tale instead
uh i have one it's kinda idiotic but yeah
basically what i wanna state is that
blackbeard already got the immortal surgery performed on him
we know that this can happen and when someone dies their devil fruit is reincarnated
someone at this and performed it on him, causing him to be immortal
due to this he can eat and n number amount of devil fruits but it only pains him alot
this is because when someone eats two devil fruits, the souls/wills of the devil fruits fight within the host ending up to kill the guy
so since he cant die, the devil fruits continously fight (dark dark and tremor tremor) which keeps him from sleeping
in manga he states that the sea is not particularly a disadvantage so this just adds on that even if he slips into the sea he cant die all he has to do is wait
intersting
i had another theory where i said that uranas/whatever ancient weapon was used on whatever was at enies lobby BEFORE enies lobby and then they built enies lobby to cover it up, and also that the mother flame could possibly be a cloned ancient weapon
theres a bit more but i dont feel like typing a lot lol
i have a theory that the strawhat shanks wore as a kid is luffy's strawhat
but, even as far back the oden flashback, shanks/buggy(i forgor who) said that BB didnt sleep, when he didnt have either devil fruit, so the second last point may need some revising
hmm yeah i remember. what if bb only got the surgery done on him when he was born and as one theory states has a fetus in fetu condition or whatever it is called, therefore, he cant die and lives in constant pain and has a big ass body
possibly
yeah
Could whitebeard have gotten His Scars on his chest By Garling. since whitebeard stated “ just seeing you makes the wound given by that bastard ache again!” To Shanks
I think that would be roger
Could Cararin Devon be disguised as Bonney?
A Day passed since Last Egghead Chapter, so She should be there indeed.
Logically, whoever Devon is Impersonating got Captured, meaning They were Alone in Chapter 1078.
Only ones who could have had a Time Alone are Zoro, Usopp, Lilith, Franky, Kaku, Stussy, Jinbe & Bonney.
However, Zoro's Swords & Fighting Style can't be Copied without others Noticing.
Also Franky was left Conscious when He got Petrified, so if Devon wanted to Replace Usopp or Lilith, They would need to replace Franky too, which is not an Option, Devon can only Replace One Character. So Usopp & Lilith are Cleared.
So apparently there are Four Options:
- Stussy & Jinbe got Separated which allowed Devon & Laffitte to Surprise Attack one of them.
- Kaku was Captured before He caught up with Zoro
- Franky got Replaced cuz He simply was Defenseless & Alone
- Bonney for same reason as Franky
First Option is Unlikely though, cuz Stussy & Jinbe had no reason to Split-Up, and both are Very Strong.
Second Option is also Unlikely, cuz it relies on BB Duo attacking Kaku who is near Zoro, which is Very Risky.
This leads me to One Conclusion, Catarina Devon replaced either Franky or Bonney.
to be a devils advocate we don't know the limits of Devons fruit. It's very possible it can copy a persons skills or turn others into clones.
Right I mean it should be different from bon-chan's fruit in some way
I assume if it’s awakened it’s able to change others as well
I don’t think it is awakened if I had to guess awakening is really hard and I don’t think many of blackbeards crew had DF prior outside of lafitte, Wolf and probably Vasco
why do we think devon is impersonating anyuone in the first place?
Cuz people are guessing that she is at egghead due to process of elimination and that's her power
There is one big hole in this though. He was already stated to not be sleeping while he was young and presumably without any DF
I have a small theory that Franky built the Sunny to do something more like become some sort of giant Mecha which we will see in the final battle or somewhere around that.
Guys someone agree with me that Garp and Aokiji planned all this to happen?
wdym
I think that Aokiji is sword member and that he joined BB group for some mission
i mean thats a good theory but idk ?
And is panel where Aokiji kill Garp real or not?
but yeah could make sense
Kuzan’s a huge question mark in general—there’s also the theory that he’s actually a Revolutionary spy. But either way something’s not adding up with him as a BB crew member
i agree
All possibilities for blackbeard having multiple devil fruits (if I get one right I called it 🔥)
- Unknown mythical zoan based on a mythological creature with three souls
Blackbeard's personalities have been potrayed as sort of inconsistent. sometimes he is ruthless and very comically evil while other times he is a coward. This theory goes that three souls= each have a devil fruit and a distinct personality. The reasoning for each fight with blackbeard being cut off (Law,payback war etc) is that he transforms into the zoan form and the fight ends quickly after. Another thing supporting this is the scars on shanks, blackbeard's claw weapon has 4 blades while the scar on shanks' head is very distinctly 3 scratches. This could be proof that it was from blackbeard transforming and catching him off guard (fuel for cerberus or bai-ze zoan) - Secret ability of the Yami Yami no MI
The yami yami no mi's darkness is said to absorb all "even other devil fruit powers" what if this is MUCH more literal? when they put the black sheet over whitebeard's corpse it is possible that the yami yami no mi hijacked the fruit reincarnation process and consumed the gura gura no mi. Another part of this is that it might take complete darkness for blackbeard to actually transform into his darkness and do this. - "Strange" body (one I like the least)
Blackbeard is shown to be extremely durable almost unnaturally for his power level at the time, he might've had a unique birth circumstance or born from some odd mutation/phenomena. For example blackbeard couldve been born with 2 or more hearts allowing him to contain more lineage factor or get fatigued much slower allowing him to not sleep
The yami one I see as the most possible
has there been any theory yet on Fujitora being a rev spy tho? idk why but I really want to believe that bc I also noticed that of the current generation 5 admirals (Aokiji Kizaru Akainu Fujitora Ryokugyu), Issho is the only one with a paramecia DF instead of a logia (small hint), he seems to have a horrid past to have blinded himself for good, he freed slaves at Marijoa even with Greenbull being right in front of him, he did not crush Sabo despite being that strong. My guess he was a very old friend of Dragon or something like that, similar to Ivankov, and that he went as a double agent for a very long time or sth
I think it's the least likely actually, because of Luffy sensing that Teach is multiple people using the Voice of All Things when they met on Jaya. The Mythical Zoan idea makes some sense if it gives him multiple souls, and "strange body" one could explain it as well depending on how his body is strange. But the Yami Yami no Mi trapping fruits is the only one that doesn't explain it
Could be chalked up to them assuming blackbeard has a crew nearby
yeah nvm I rewatched that scene and it def was not just a crew
Yeah, they specifically played up that Luffy was saying there were multiple entities within Blackbeard
it was far too serious than just them assuming he has a crew
yeah
monke
I have a theory about the One Piece. So the One Piece is apparently located in Laugh Tale the final island. I'm assuming then the One Piece is something that causes you to laugh. So my theory of what One Piece is is that it is actually a portal to our world, the "real world", and when the characters look through it they can see "us" and how we don't have devil fruits or cool powers and that makes them laugh. They laugh at how boring and meaningless our lives are compared to theirs and wonder why we don't kill ourselves. The series ends with Luffy fist bumping Naruto who appears out of nowhere, pointing at the audience, and laughing at the audience.
are you being fr?
kinda, I mean the One Piece has been so hyped up that it would have to be something no one would suspect right?
idk if oda would want to introduce another dimension but ig it makes sense as smth that no one would suspect
I guess it’s possible but I certainly hope not? It would be kind of a let down, too much of a “and it was all a dream” ending
That's what I'm saying, then it could segway into him advertising the live action remake, since it's moving to our world now, and the live action remake would have a new ending for those that didn't like the original ending.
I mean look at all the other manga they always have sorta bizarre anti-climatic endings. Gantz, Bleach (kinda), Evangelion, etc
Oda’s also said he’s planned One Piece’s ending from the beginning, and IDK if this is an ending he’d hold onto for nearly 30 years and talk about how he thinks people are gonna love it
I mean it would be equally if not more lame if it was just a non-mind bending gag like "LOOL IT WAS JUST A SILLY LOOKING MONKEY" or if it was some contrived thing like "omg it's the ancient superweapon that can destroy everything if it gets into the wrong hands!"
it had to be smth no one would expect cause oda said that no one guessed the ending yet
or what else, it could just literally be a treasure chest with expensive treasure?
I remember one theory that it's Joyboy's joy after it was paw'd out, and that's why it made Roger's crew laugh, and how it taught Roger and his crew the true world history
what if I'm the first person to guess it lol, guess we'll never know since he'll never read it
in my theory it taught Rodger the true world history by them realizing they were manga characters created by a japanese guy named Oda, and the government didn't want them to figure it out since it was embarressing.
and that's why Rodger was so ok with dying since he realized he was a fictional character anyway
That theory is really childish tbh am not expecting oda for this to be the ending
One Piece has a mixture of childish and serious stuff
and I'm not saying it would happen exactly as I said but the point of it being a window into the "real" world and them realizing they were manga characters and laughing about it is what I'm sticking with.
maybe it continues after that and it gets into more bizarre breaking the 4th wall kinda stuff
with one of gear 5s abilities being Luffy being able to break the 4th wall like a loony toon since that's kinda the theme of that transformation kinda
and it turns out the government was kinda right about trying to cover up the existence of the "gum gum" fruit aka joy boy power since it literally allows the user to eventually break the 4th wall and that could destroy/alter their entire universe
I imagine if my theory is true they will eventually be more specific with like "we cannot let luffy/joy boy find the one piece, it will awaken THAT ability"
if ur theory is true ill give you $1000000
so the one piece is some sort of portal/window/connection to the "real world" and if Luffy finds it and realizes the "true history" of them being in a manga he will awaken the true power of Joy Boy and will be able to break the 4th wall at will.
this is why the government is so terrified of luffy, who is the incarnation of joy boy, finding the one piece
i think gear 5 will have different modes of expressions of emotion
