Definitely cooked
i have a theory
oh, I'd love to hear it!
i cracked the story in 1084
Hoh share it with us
i have a realization
no one will be satisfied with what the one piece is because it is hyped up for a 1000+ episodes
also i think the one piece is a devil fruit
What do y’all think about Imu being Lili?
I think Moria and doflamingo will join cross guild because back when roger was getting eliminated there was pirates like croc buggy shanks and mihawk and they have all been known to join cross guild except for Moria and doflamingo
Shanks joined Crossguild, did i miss something?
Not shanks
I’m pretty sure the community’s expectations of the One Piece aren’t as high as you think it might be.
toki odens wife is Lili vivis great grandma
she disappeared because she went forward in time
to ensure joyboys return which is why alabasta didnt join the world government
or Cobra family didnt become Celestial dragons
If the one piece is a devil fruit, luffy wouldn’t be able to do anything with it and it would be a pretty empty gesture
Even if finding the one piece isn't exciting, people want to know about all the mysteries...
Then why did she say her parents were from Wano ?

There are a number of factors which go against lili being toki.
For one thing, toki said her parents were from wano. If lili was her, she wouldn't say it.
Secondly, toki's behaviour wasn't what you would expect from a queen. She even forgot her goal and decided to go around with oden.
Thrid, she wouldn't go to wano even when she was sick if oden hadn't forced her to. Her entire existence revolved around being in love with oden. Lili would have other priorities because she understands the things like imu. Liam hasn't addressed any of these issues in his video, he just put forward this possibility of toki being the queen Lili, but seeing as there are so many opposing points, it's not exactly that credible till we have something more solid to build this on.
Which is weird coz generally he analyses his videos more.
But then, this possibility will give more people to go and watch his video and the viewer count would go up, and people will claim or refute the theory based on direct points, so there we have it: possible reason he gave this random possibility
BROO
Alright I’ve got another one.. so my roommate whom I got into one piece is on fishnan island ark. I researched the manga version of the voice of all things scene with roger right? So I paired that idea to the latest manga chapter 1084
THE sea kings who are speaking say they can’t wait for their two kings to be born again… and the two people who are being talked about now are || lili and imu || two (potential) rulers out of the original 20 from 800 years ago
The real kicker is that the sea kings mention that THIS TIME it will work. Meaning a similar case has happened where the two rulers were “together”. (The unrequited love theory of imu and lily) and the “this time it will work” thing is because she was dead. But IMU wants Vivi her reincarnation/ successor of Alabasta. and the seakings were talking about THAT ruler being born. I think this is interesting enough to be possible.
its true i think
Heres my theory
900 years ago. There was a kingdom. Ruled over all seas.
They have technological advanced civilization. And they take humans as slaves as they grew industrious, they make slaves as their sacrificial labors.
100 years past , 20 countries says enough is enough how can they defeat such a technological power to end the sufferings of humanity. so they decided to use curse powers which D clans posseses known as devil fruits. these curse weapon will be the only hope. One of the fruits used is gomu-gomu no mi nika nika fruit a joyboy is born, which possessed. Using devil fruits, along with joyboy and other clans, wano, giants and fishmans and humans unites to destroy the opposing kingdom which is known as Ancient Kingdom. And they succeeded. Although the fruits they use as a weapon, those will marked in the world circulating for generation and make imbalance powers in the future whic can be uses for selfishness , that was the toll. To make these problem fix in the future
the 20 countries known as kingdoms decided to make a new government but no singularity ruling will be made. so they make a empty throne, unfortunately only 19 is agreed, that one is alabasta kingdom.
Years past, the government is become good to worse, they cant control it completely as the history repeats itself, slavery re-exist. Those so called creator of worlds known a celestial dragons doing bad reputation. As they want to protect their upper chair of government, they hunt all those possible that can bring them down, including gomu-gomu no mi, history of ancient kingdom including 3 weapons, info of the clan. etch..
then thats why they need another joyboy to make things right again. as the prophecy says
I don't know about any of you but I don't think queen Lili is Imu
The grand elders have a disdain for the Alabasta royal family and I don't think that mixes with Cobra and Vivi being the descendent of the ruler. My guess is that Lili had the opop fruit and made Imu immortal
I heard about this a while back and that really puts imu character in a different perspective. In Buddhism the whole endgame is to be freedom of the body, mind and soul and the original Buddha was deified for achieving that state of enlightenment. Imu in that sense is Buddha he is withdrawn from the world he rules only interacting with it briefly through the grand elders, he is diefied by the grand elders who are considers gods among the populace similar how Budduh is the head of some Buddha mythology, he is the guiding hand of the world much like Buddha is for his followers. But Imu isn't free he is the illusion of freedom, he concurs and enslave hundreds on a whim, he hides himself from the world as most of his "followers" dont even believe he exists and he is seldom, withdrawn emotion less dressed in black hiding his face. Which makes him the best counter to Luffy who is vibrant, bathed in white and actively enjoys living and exploring the world.
Interesting theory, but not all D clan members presently are in possession of a Devil Fruit power. And a lot of characters have Devil Fruit powers that don’t have a D in their name.
The Gorosei are Imu's Children Theory:
Who can Imu trust to make them the Gorosei except her own family. Oda is notorious for foreshadowing concepts that would later play a major role. Similar to how big mom forms a pirate crew with her children, I believe Imu has a child every century. All of them are old even with perpetual youth surgery as hunting down the ope ope no mi takes nearly a lifetime. The Gorosei seem to each hail from different regions around the world so different warriors or genetic material might have been used to create them. The 5 members of the Gorosei is not enough to suggest she just made the original rules of the 19 families immortal. The Gorosei do not seem to be the type to work together rather work towards the same cause helping their mother Imu.

@wanton berry @oak kraken although both of you are making some interesting points, please use #manga-serious for shorter "what if" theories/questions like that.
@obsidian yoke interesting Imu-related observations, but I've previously asked people to move that discussion to #manga-serious , including DP whom you've replied to just now and brought up ideas on Buddhism. Please continue brainstorming ideas about Imu elsewhere.
@tame notch feel free to restate your theory in #manga-serious since this channel's for longer theories like the ones pinned. Also ping me there if you have an answer to the question I asked about Toki and Lily.

yah . but its 900 years ago. i only theorized that D clan is the first origins of devil fruits.
But what’s the connection in present day?
Please don't make references to other series here, we have #other-series for that. More importantly unless you have more details to provide, please take shorter theories like that to #manga-serious
@chilly dagger As I've already asked Homer, please move this discussion in #manga-serious
I think this is pretty unlikely and for one it goes completely against clovers (who is an O’Hara scholar) discovery. Which was proven to be true by the reaction of the gorosei.

"Imu has the devilfruit power Hito Hito no mi model Gaia, God of the Earth"
The great mystery surrounding Imu is very intriguing and I wanna try to puzzle things together so it can somewhat make sense.
- Why is Imu sitting on the empty throne and not anyone else?
- Why is Imu always seen in Pangea castle?
- If Imu is indeed from the Void Century 800-900 years ago, how did she get immortal?
I think the reason why Imu is the secret leader, is tied to her devilfruit powers and/or the power of whatever destroyed Lulusia Kingdom (could be the ancient weapon Uranus).
We know that the Gorosei Jay Garcia is named "Saturn" and in which turn would suggest that the remaining 4 Gorosei members would be named Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter since the ancient weapons are named after Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. There are 3 remaining celestial bodies - the Sun (Luffy) - the Moon - and the Earth.
I think Imu is the embodiment of the God of the Earth, also known in Greek mythology as the Mother Earth "GAIA". The reason I think this is tied to her immortality. The popular theory is that Imu has had the immortality surgery from the Ope Ope no mi performed on her but I would suggest that isn't the case.
The source of Imu's immortality is the Sunlight tree Eve. With her devil fruit power she could harness the vitality of the great tree Eve and that would suggest the secret to Imu's power is the same way plants and trees gains energy - sunlight, nutrition and water.
This is why Imu is always in Pangea castle and also the reason the Gorosei are close to her and allow her the seat on the empty throne. I think Imu can transfer the source of her immortality to a select few people in close proximity to her and the sunlight tree Eve - the Gorosei give her the seat on the empty throne in exchange for prolonged life or immortality. This would suggest the sunlight tree Eve would be stuck inside the Redline and reach through from fishman island all the way up inside Pangea castle.

But the two kings were original Poseidon and Joyboy... or you're suggesting that was a red herring?
IMO the immortal surgery needs to make an appearance in the story. Oda gave it a lot of focus to not use it in the future.
@fringe elm it’s an interesting question, but since it’s unrelated to any theory above, please ask that in #manga-serious
Why Imu is a false joyboy
Given the latest chapter, there is a high likelihood that Imu is tied to the Nefertiti family. The Nefertiti family’s name comes from Queen Nefertiti of Egypt, who ruled alongside the Pharaoh Akhenaten. To solidify their power, the two overhauled Egypt’s religious policy and promoted the monotheist worship of the god Aten, or sun disk. Aten replaced the god Amun as the sun deity. Other gods during their rule were censored, defiled, and attempted to be erased. The pharaoh Akhenaten and Nefertiti declared themselves the vessel of this sun god.
Uranus’s position as the ancient weapon of the sky would put in a place of contention with the Sun. From what we know about Uranus (or what we think is Uranus), it exists on the sky and is capable of destruction akin to that of a god.
I believe that the parallels between the rule of Nefertiti/Akhenaten and Imu/Lili is intentional. Imu removed the previous “gods” or lunarians and placed themself as the sole deity of the world. They censored information prior the collapse of the ancient kingdom. The ancient weapon Uranus & it’s wielder replaced the Sun God Nika.
When the next heir to the throne was born, they removed Aten and reestablished Amun as the sun god. This heir was King Tutankhamun, or King Tut. The god Amen was the champion of the poor and protecter of roads, which could tie into Luffy as well. King Tut died when he was 19, and Luffy is 19 post time skip.
To summarize, Imu used Uranus to become a false joyboy potentially with the help of a Nefertiti, Luffy will return as the rightful sun god, but might die when one piece ends
But if the nefertiti helped imu why was she "erased" too?
I mean, we have gotten enough information of who Imu might be. The first one being that there are 19 swords on the throne. The second being that Cobra in the same chapter revealed that Lili never returned to Alabasta. In conclusion Lili stayed at Marijoa. Either she became a victim of Imu or that she became the one called Imu. All the info we have right now is that there were 20 kingdoms that swore an alliance agaist a country during the void centery and 19 of them decided to become Celestial dragons while the Nefatari family went back to alabsta which Cobra once again said did not happnen.
Weren't the rulers joy boy and Poseidon?
And maybe the seakings are saying [This time it'll work] because it didn't work out last time as anticipated,
Which explains why Joy boy was apologizing to them too,,
possibly
most of us only assumed that because it happened when we learned about Poseidon being a living person and we knew shirahoshi will be a ruler one day. and the joyboy part came from knowing that roger was the one who heard it. and us saying luffy is joyboy
There is one sword in Imu’s room could that perhaps belong to lili. Also within the new chapter there is a shadowy figure in the room besides imu which could be Lili but that’s a stretch because shadowy figures can be anybody and the shadow figure we see of lili does not really match the shadow besides imu. Perhaps that shadowy figure is a corpse. Perhaps imu uses the corpses of his victims as a fertilizer for his garden and that’s why no bodies are ever found.
I think Imu and Queen Lily probably lover in the past, and he betray Queen Lily because of desire of power. Vivi might resemble Queen Lily. I dont believe Imu is a woman.
Love this
thank you
how emu she?
Lilly left alabasta, but was it revealed that she went to marejois
Alright, so as you all know Lulusia no longer exists, it was blasted to bits by what is assumed to be an ancient weapon. Well I am %100 certain that Doflamingo is fully aware of this weapons capabilities because he named what is likely his strongest attack other than the birdcage "16 holy bullets" And how many beams do we see raining down from the sky? That's right, exactly 16. I was slightly reminded of King's Imperial Flame as well the one he uses whilst in the air, just the way it forms. So perhaps the possibility exists that rather than a technological weapon, this ancient weapon is in fact an ancient Lunarian with absurdly powerful Haki or some kind of ability that transcends haki.
In addition the number 16 has importance all through one piece, King of the Pirates is 16 letters, there's 16 beams in the tablet that Eneru looks at whilst on the moon. Also if you Add the 9 gods knights, 5 Elders and Imu together it makes the number 15, which leads me to believe there is another as yet unintroduced character to make the total equal 16
This theory falls apart when you realise that the strands of "bullets" that imu shot is actually 15 and not 16
There’s 16
I can’t post, but the 16th bullet is to the far left and misses its mark and hits water
"King of the Pirates is 16 letters" Not sure Oda would do something like this based in English...
Defs 16
tbh is the Doflamingo connection to this weapon thing possible, yeah sure and Oda likes to play with numbers sometimes, but these forced connections like "king of the pirates" being 16 letters and adding up the holy knights, elders and Imu and another person we havent seen yet to make it 16 again just to find more reasons for it to be true feels wrong and off and instead of making it more believable just makes it sound a bit ridiculous
@royal spruce unless you have some evidence/reasoning to support it, please use #manga or #manga-serious for short crackpot theories
There’s a lot of 16 for imu and CDs in general.
Doffys 16 holy bullets
The 16 beams coming down on lulucia
Charloss was entry #16 at the slave auction
16 in katakana can spell imu
In doffys flashback, a kid was shot 16 times by a celestial
Luffy also rang the Ox Bell 16 times iirc
Yeah he rang it 16 times after Rayleigh took him there
Hello, I'm new on the discord, wanna ask if there some theories on the new chapters ?
Welcome. There are some theories written above if you scroll up, but there's also some theories in the channel's pins. Unless you want to narrow down what type of theory you're looking for, maybe check out #manga or #manga-serious and see what discussions are going on ever since ch1084 released.
I have a theory. Imu is a den den mushi. I’m not joking. First look at pro den den mushis. Their eyes are exactly Imu’s. Now look at Imu’s only facial feature. That shape fits perfectly with a den den mushi eyeball. Now, remember when Donquixote Homing called someone in Marijoa asking for help and got rejected by someone who told him “don’t ever call me again, human ” Look at the den den mushi. Same eyes as Imu, same moustache as a pro den den mushi (it’s the video den den mushi for broadcasting they used during marineford, they have moustaches, check the wiki for more info). Imus shape and silouette are very weird for a human, specially when you realize the position of his eyes relative to his general shape. Oda choose Luffys fruit because it was ridiculous, it wouldn’t be strange if he gave the antagonist the same treatment. Him being an ancient weapon snail that controls whatever attacked lulusia or a fruit user is a mistery. If you recap important moments in the story den den mushis have always been central to all of them, the alabasta farewell, water 7 buster call den den mushis, marineford broadcasts, punk hazard transmision to brokers and contacts with doflamingo… if Imu somehow was following events in real time thanks to some connection to den den mushis it could prove quite troublesome in the future. Not to mention how fitting for someone who erased history to control the communications would be.
It could be more abstract like the den den mushi are created by imu who has control over them and is a “wave human” who controls different types of waves like radio waves
i consider den den mushis to be one of the greatest mysteries in one piece, so this is fantastic. I wanted to add this image, since it made me squint when i read the chapter. Imu having a denden mushi that monitors the gorosei is interesting on its own. Imu having a deep connection to denden mushi as a whole would be even more interesting
in the recent chapter did any one else feel that imu might be like a child
ofc this is one piece and heights vary a lot and imu might just be a short person but the stature makes me feel like it might be a kid who gained immortality. in the anime the stature was that of adult but in this chapter imu seems to me like a child with really long robe and crown
Loving this den den Imu theory, it's the perfect amount of coherent and absurdly funny that fit One Piece perfectly. The giant den den mushis from Germa still feel super mysterious and could definitely still be one of the important races involved in the world's history
agreed with regards to Germa. That was one of my "no fucking way" moments in One Piece. I feel like its extremely significant
Wait a minute... The ancient kingdom had advanced tech, right? And the powers of devil fruits, potentially more like "powers" as we hear Wano people refer to them. They are somewhat linked to the will of D.
The name of the kingdom has been teased as being important by the events of Ohara. The word itself has a huge significance and we have an initial potentially linked to an advanced ancient people.
Could D. stand for "Den" ?
I'm not suggesting the initial our characters have make them necessarily related to the snails themselves but rather carry the will of the ancient kingdom they get their name from.
Den Den Kingdom
Imu is probably a man from moon who went to earth and found that den den mushi is a great earth invention to use
Just like how amazed luffy and ussop when they discovered dial impact in skypiea then taking some back to earth
i would lose my god damn mind. I do agree the name of the kingdom has been kept from us partly because if we were told, it would reveal a great deal. I have struggled a lot with that, since I have no idea what details it would reveal. But if it really was den den, it would be absolutely insane.
Also, devil fruits being stuff like ope ope, gura gura, yami yami...den den is one thing that is consistent with that.
I was curious if den means anything, so I googled it and this is what I found. Transmit is an easy connection, but legend and tradition are both also interesting.
Good analysis, what the chapter number of daffy speaking to den den mushi as a kid
oops meant to reply to you above
It is like a phone, but in one piece world, don't think it needs any kind of overthinking 🤣😅
OMG this thing actually makes sense, it's huge
what if imu has a fruit which allows him to mark specific areas and manipulate the land within the place he marked, that could be why he somehow destroyed lulusia by just crossing it off the map. Which could also be why god valley vanished
Hello, I am not acquainted much here but I was thinking about this thinking.
Ancient kingdom was very advanced technologically, right? Even Vegapunk can't reproduce as much tech as it existed back then. I wonder how can such a kingdom get defeated when they also had destructive powers of ancient weapons? There has to be some sort of traitorship. It could be someone giving intel from inside but I think its more likely that the 20 kingdoms were maybe like allies with ancient kingdom and shared the technology and then they betrayed the ancient kingdom? But there are like a billion questions regarding the existence of a god and devil.
Also I wonder how will the conflict look like? Will we see Zoro using lightsabers🤣
Some of us think very strongly that the Ancient Weapons aren't actually weapons but just wg propaganda. They can be weaponized for sure. Poseidon's ability for sure can weaponized but otherwise but when you break her ability down to the basics, she's just a glorified herding dog
I don't think so its WG propaganda, poneglyphs had mentioned the names.
It'd be a bad reveal if we found out that ancient weapons are propaganda, especially when Franky had designs for Pluton.
yeah
The ancient kingdom being a “kingdom without land” like Germa would make a shit ton of sense
I think the "Ancient Weapons" do exist but I don't think they were designed as WEAPONS per se. With Pluton for example we think it's basically an excavator or a huge industrial drill that is able to move massive amounts of land mass. Maybe the world used to be more continental but then Pluton was used to centralize that mass of land as Red Line at some point.
Yeah, its possible that its a propaganda that those weapons are't weapons actually.
They might be weapons in the sense that WG poses a threat.
But lets see, there is a reason why the supposed battleship is sealed behind borders of Wano and Momonosuke is the one who is going to unleash it.
Well, several Ds (Roger and Luffy) had voice of all things (and Shirahoshi and momo along with zunesha) and so far it looks like it’s mostly a special form of telepathy (with some added pluses). The only beings in OP cable of telepathy are… well, den den mushis. And voat seems to be hugely relevant.
But didn't the poneglyph mention them as ancient "weapon"
So their main job is to be a weapon
My small 2 cent theory here:
Imu was part of joyboy team/crew
Imu betrayed him for personal gains I guess
Oh interesting
another possibility
We don't know what the poneglyphs say 1:1, they only mention they by name. I'm pretty convinced that the "Ancient Weapon" term is WG propaganda that was created after void century because the existence of Uranus, Poseidon and Pluton is the main reason why poneglyph research is banned. The poneglyphs also contain the information of the location of Laugh Tale and irremovable writings of history. Something like that can be even scarier for the WG than actual weapons of mass destruction.
Also it wouldn't even make sense that they would be called "ancient weapons" in the poneglyphs since at that time they were a real and an existing thing. The mere existence of Poseidon and fully understanding her power kinda points into that direction that the "Ancient Weapons" don't have to be literally designed to cause harm as weapons.
technically that can be said about most “weapons”. But i dont think it’s propaganda. I mean crocodile heard rumors of an “ancient weapon” and even the name of it. I don’t know where he got it from or who told people about it. But anyway, robin (who can actually decipher it) reads it in the poneglyphs herself as ancient weapon.
My point here.
but I also think it’s entirely possible that these weapons don’t have to be actual “weapons” but in the past were used as such.
Yeah they can be weaponized for sure like you can weaponize Poseidon but I think we can all agree that she is not technically a weapon.
this gotta be the only theory I’ve heard that i almost instantly believed. very interesting points
A gun is always a gun and a baseball bat can be used to cause blunt force trauma, that's for sure. It's still really hard to try to present baseball bats solely as weapons if you know what they are. If you spent almost a millenia removing baseball bats from the public knowledge and spreaded fearmongering propaganda about them, the public knowledge would start to associate baseball bats solely as weapons without ever seeing one.
Certain things are kinda odd but, the fact that it’s something that’s been overlooked is interesting. Imu only said one word which could mean a limited vocabulary. idk it’s all confusing. I don’t actually think imu is a transponder snail since they have walked, sat down shown hands, etc. it would be confusing. But the whole transponder involvement in the story and possible race is an interesting idea to dwell on.
if a baseball bat can destroy an island then no matter whatever purpose it may have people will call it weapon
like if a medicine said to cure a disease can also kill when consumed by people without the disease then it would be called poison regardless of the intent of its creator
hold on lemme put my theory
so the ancient weapons that are said to destroy islands are still weapons whether the weilder have that intent or not so shirahoshi won't use it as a weapon but it can still wreak havoc
i wonder if luffy is a legitemate son of monkey d dragon.
Hello everyone I’d like to state my predictions (or theory) of one piece manga. As you saw on the latest chapter, king Cobra reveals Imu’s true name and for doing that he gets murdered by her. It was all going to her plan not to just kill king Cobra but also Capture Vivi. You might ask why and here is my answer: Vivi is one of the ancient and she is Pluton the king of lands which means that there are 2 ancient weapons in Marijoa Poseidon and Pluton but where is Uranus? I have 2 answers maybe one of them is right, Enel is Uranus or The third Ancient weapon is about to be revealed and thats why they summoned all royal families. Next chapters will show us the fight between green bull, Fujitora and the revolutionary captains. And I think Dragon will take action and use his weather controlling fruit to fight Imu but maybe his powers will be stolen by imu using her/his water water fruit and I think that explains why Kuma’s powers are gone. The third Ancient weapon will escape Marjioa when Dragon or Sabo awares them
Everyone is gonna argue with me but there is a high chance of this happening since we are on the last arcs of One Piece. I’m gonna add this now so One Piece says The Third Ancient weapon is burried under wano and wano is a volcanic island above a magma chamber does that mean the third ancient weapon is asleep that’s why there were no huge volcano eruptions? And what does he have to do with magma
Where does it say cobra revealed imu's name?
We have no proof just more assumptions.
And him speaking the lily word has loads of other theories
assuming pluton is a battleship that can be built with blueprints and is locked up beneath wano i hereby disagree that vivi is pluton
vivi is not a weapon. its revealed why vivi targeted its because of her bloodline connects to lili
The 20Th sword was removed from the empty throne room and its showen to be at the garden room i think where imu was you can see that the sword is there so that makes sense
still it is not wrong to assume vivi could be uranus since we know nothing about that specific weapon
It might simply be imu loved lily but had to killI her, but kept her sword for keepsake.
It might be lily fled but left behind her sword, etc.
If lily was imu, why would imu send a secret letter to Arabasta?
And where does Amazon lily fit in with imu being lily? It surely cannot be a coincidence that lily and Amazon lily share the name
Vivi is uranus not pluton
yea i know
never said she was pluton i accidentally siad neptune instead of uranus
my bad
Why is she with poseidon in Marijoa tho
she is the princess of arabasta and decided to go to the reverie and poseidon also happens to be a princess attending reverie ig
ain't that just the plot from return to reverie
kuma still has his powers, too
- Pluton is confirmed to be buried under Wano.
- Franky had blueprints to build it, so it's not human-possessed like Shirahoshi. It's an actual ship
- We've probably seen Uranus twice already, but that's just speculation
The Strawhat we saw in Mariejois might be Uranus
I think that's just Joy Boy's straw hat and nothing more. It's frozen because freezing rubber is a good way to stop rubber being rubbery
It’s probably just a preservation thing there’s no need to counter the rubbery nature of a dead guy
That's also true, we've seen giants being frozen throughout the story quite a lot. I just say that because we've seen Luffy come back using his rubber and maybe that how Joy Boy fell, by not being able to/prevented from using his rubber
Dragon wasn’t present during this
Considering the fruits true nature freezing it would be very difficult if not impossible no ?
We just don't know any details of the circumstances around the Straw Hat so we can only really guess at this point.
Nope, because it’s still rubber and therefore is weak to freezing temperatures
I think Coco meant that it would be very difficult to get Joy Boy in that position in the first place, seeing how he also had awakened his fruit. So maybe Joy Boy was caught off guard/tricked
I just think freezing a dude who either inspired or ate a literal Sun god fruit would be pretty damn tricky
He was betrayed wasnt he?
Oh I see I thought it was a human
He could go there
I thought the reverie was already over and the countries left. which is why it went back to what happened while it ended. After the conclusion that’s when Morgan’s sent out the news of the event and the whole sabo killing cobra thing started. So while sabo was “on the run” he finally found a way to contact dragon
that means if one of those country leaders is Uranus they are already away from mariejois or would’ve publicly been known as missing but in reality is kidnapped by gorosei. Vivi was actually seen as missing but was later discovered to be with Morgan’s
It gotta be Vivi because they wanted to kill king cobra on purpose if vivi was captured he would find out about everything, and he may actually know she is an ancient weapon + maybe next chapter they will annouce that Vivi is missing
the confusing thing is vivi actually was missing but somehow Morgan’s got hold of her. In chapter 1074
what chapter ima check
@brave quiver Can you tell me which chapter they said she was missing too
I believe chapter 1054
I just noticed that pattern wait a sec
Every 10 chapters I think we get like a clue or something, in 1064 I noticed shaka predicted his death and informs dragon of something.
In 1054 they are reading the paper that Morgans sent out, but that is just a cover-up and Morgans is secretly hiding her from the public eye
Yeah that’s the thing, Morgan’s is the one who took her. The government doesn’t know that part because it shows Akainu conversing about it. So they know the events that occurred it’s just that Morgan’s was being vague specifically on vivis whereabouts and sabo murdering a king. so Morgan’s either took her because he heard something too or someone tried killing her. Cause I doubt sabo had him take her at all
“King Cobra got murdered and his daughter was nowhere to be found.” Would be what he wanted to write
Yep, but at the end of the chapter we see Morgan’s basically say how the truth doesn’t matter but the entertainment does
I just made a theory about the letter that was written in the void century
what’s the theory
According to this theory, Shanks' friendly and carefree demeanor is merely a facade to mask his true intentions. It is suggested that he has been playing a long game, carefully manipulating events to further his own interests and maintain his position as one of the most influential pirates in the world.
One key aspect of this theory revolves around Shanks' connection to the World Government. Despite being a pirate, he has managed to maintain a positive relationship with the Marines and the World Government, something that is unusual for a member of the Yonko. It is speculated that Shanks has made secret deals and alliances with high-ranking officials within the World Government, providing them with information or services in exchange for certain privileges or protection.
Furthermore, the theory suggests that Shanks deliberately orchestrated certain events to ensure the rise of Monkey D. Luffy, the protagonist of One Piece. By providing Luffy with the Straw Hat, inspiring him to become a pirate, and indirectly leading him to the Devil Fruit, Shanks has set in motion a chain of events that will ultimately benefit his hidden agenda. This theory proposes that Shanks is grooming Luffy to become a powerful force that he can control or manipulate to further his own goals.
Another element of this theory involves Shanks' mysterious missing arm. It is believed that the loss of his arm was not accidental but a calculated sacrifice. Some fans speculate that Shanks intentionally sacrificed his arm to gain the trust and admiration of Luffy and his crew, furthering his influence over them and ensuring their loyalty.
Additionally, the theory suggests that Shanks has been actively suppressing any information or actions that could threaten the World Government's authority. He may have played a role in covering up the truth behind the Void Century and the ancient weapons, as well as manipulating historical records to maintain the status quo.
If this theory holds true, it would mean that Shanks is not the ally and mentor he appears to be, but a master manipulator with his own hidden agenda. The final confrontation between the Straw Hat Pirates and Shanks could potentially reveal his true intentions and the extent of his malevolence, leading to a major turning point in the story of One Piece.
I’m pretty sure Shanks didn’t want Luffy to have the fruit , but Ace instead
he was initially planning on giving the fruit to ace and manipulating him but after he realized luffy was garp's grandson he knew he had the perfect opportunity to get revenge on him as well

He didn't know of Ace's existence
shank bad
The problem with all the shanks bad theories is from a purely plot point of view it is not a good twist imo.
someone should by a dragon ball super manga from me only for 12 doller
Like what would it add to the narrative outside of making Luffy upset ? Blackbeard has already been set up as a sort of evil parallel Luffy so having to r basis for his ideals subverted would fucksith that
You don’t think Whitebeard would have told him?
Nope. Ace told WB under secrecy, he didn't want that coming out. He didn't like his own bloodline but told WB to keep things transparent esp when he was gonna be made commander of a WB ship. And Wb would never betray that trust
Oh that's right, Whitebeard didn't even know until after Ace joined WB's crew and told him
I still don't think orchestrated Luffy into eating the DF. Doesn't make sense, especially reading the first chapter/early chapters
three sword style 10 billion fold saber
so i think that imu bodysnatched lily ,populr known theory but going off that: i think i just figured out the reason why. doflamingo said he needed the personality switching and the immortality to make use of the treasure of mariejois...whatever that treasure is has 2 requirements: to sap your lifespan as you touch/use it, and for you to be a specific person: a nefertari, lily or vivi. imu has both requirements currently
Lili is based on Lilith myth (not the vegapunk) theory
Lilith is an ancient Mesopotamian and Jewish myth. It’s thought to mean devil or spirit, and was associated to tempests. She was considered Adam’s first wife, and the primordial demon (or devil). She was said to be always in conflict with him until she escaped or was banished from the paradise and she decided she would rather live with demons than come back with Adam. Now compare this to Lili, who literally left marijoa (paradise) and preferred to live outside, is Imu maybe her first husband?
We have devil fruits, an Adam tree an Eve tree, and a woman who left “Paradise”. And someone from that paradise seems to have something to say about her. I think it’s pretty sure her name is referencing Lilith and could somehow be “the first devil” or Imus ex wife based on this. Oh and Lilith is depicted with snakes. The person asking about her is king Cobra.
Oh yes! I thought this too.
In your theory, then D are the people from Lili’s lineage, as having the blood with D like Rh D type or smth. This suggest the Nephilim (fallen “moon”? angels who had children with women (Lili?) then generating the D ppl. Nephilims are the ancient giants. There’s the giant straw hat and the giant Jaguar D. Saul. So Lili would’ve been the mother of demons following Lilith myth. These are cursed by the Imu/Umi sea or just by Mother Nature.
I think we will have a sad moment where the strawhat pirates will escape Egg Head with Vegapunk Stella, but the island is destroyed. While his memories fade away, Vegapunk will tell the Straw Hats to go to Elbaph to get the last Road Poneglyph.
I have a theory posted in manga-serious, idk if it's good enough to be discussed here, but if it does, I'll copy it here later
I could honestly see this happening.
@slow belfry @still spruce
I have an opposite thought, that elbaf does not have a poneglyph. The point is, how and where did big mom find her poneglyph. The only known regions for it around her seem to be elbaf.
She had been set up to live specifically in elbaf for a reason and i can't imagine why would oda put her there when she could have spent her childhood absolutely anywhere in the world. Why specifically elbaf? 👇
#manga-serious message
If the wg got their hands on all the poneglyphs, they would 100% try to destroy them after
its not like they can
Oh? Are the poneglyphs indestructible?
YES btw slowmode is so annoying
Dang. Where did you get that info from? My understang was that they would be difficult to destroy, not impossible to.
They are clearly not completely indestructible because there are words carved on them, but how that happened we dont know
Oh that's a good point
Anyway, assuming that that's true, if the wg got their hands on even one of the red poneglyphs and destroyed it then it's likely no one else would ever know what was written there
Also only a few people like Robin, kozuki sukiyaki and awakened three eyes tribe people can read them
I think luffys origin fruit is rubber oda is the creativest writer ever in the kaide fight in manga kaido says luffys punch can move in air and sayın (rubber cant do it) and in manga number 1043 is coded in the epsoide when u code 1043
10(ju
4(shi
3/mi luffys fruit jushi jushi no mi
does the world government already have uranus?
Is Kaido dead? If not, what him being alive could contribute to the plot?
To be a devils advocate there’s nothing to say their indestructible nature wasn’t added after the transcription was added.
@brave quiver BRO LMAOOOO
im cryin brah i love your beats its so unexpected seein u here
thank you haha. i cant help but be a one piece enthusiast
u too real
not even that, the strangest thing about kaido saying that is he somehow copied luffy in g4
yes there is actually, which would be oden carving rogers name into the pone glyph on skypiea. if it was "sealed" / indestructible After writing on it. then it would be impossible for oden to carve anymore ancient text into it. a more interesting idea though, would be.. WHy if roger cant understand the poneglyph text would he want his message in that language? wouldn't he try writing on it himself in his own language? or did he really wanna keep it private that he was there. or maybe only ancient text can be written on there? who knows
Maybe he believed the chosen one need to have someone who knows how to read poneglyph
Cause if your crew doesn't have someone who read poneglyphs, you ain't knowing the history and the truth of one piece
im 99 percent sure this is made by chat gpt
Listen to this. What if the holy knight that is outlined is Shanks twin? Gol D. Roger found Shanks in a chest so what if there was another one that the government got at god valley.

its pretty obvious
God knights are the red haired pirates
It wasn’t in the poneglyph it was in the gold statue next to it no ?
actually yes, it was inscribed on the gold that entombed the poneglyph
So yeah there’s nothing to say they didn’t just turn regular stone into indestructible stone or whatever
This a borderline tinfoil theory I posted in manga-serious, though I think it matches with the theme of the series thus far. And I haven't heard this theory being elaborated before. It builds upon the theory that Imu is the national treasure Doffy mentioned, but there's an additional detail:
Imu is a kid. Either she's being forcefully kept young so it's easier to control her, or her power only works only when she's a kid, or something prevents her from maturing
While it sounds ridiculous, there's some hints that indicates that:
- On chapter 761, when Doffy mentioned the day he wanted to exchange his father's head to keep his Celestial Dragon status, he said that "if only he had Ope Ope no Mi that day", he could've used both Personality Switch and Immortality Surgery to control the national treasure. However, it always struck me as odd why he mentioned "that day" specifically, when he was only 8 years old, and what's personality exchange and surgery got to do with national treasure. But there's only 1 explanation that fits the bill:
- Personality Switch indicates he want to switch place with Imu. I think many theories have speculated this
- Another translation for Immortality Surgery is Perpetual Youth Surgery, implying that it keeps the affected one to be at that specific age. It means Doflamingo realize he needed to keep being at that age range to be able to be Imu (or at least, gain her powers)
- Replacing Imu also fits the idea that Doffy wished to remain at Mary Geoise at that time, afterall he will be indispensable (unlike say, he gain control of a weapon that could easily be taken away from him)
- It explains Doffy's demeanor after he escape Mary Geoise with the knowledge of the national treasure. His younger self seems hurt that he was denied being at Mary Geoise, but his older self seems amused at the secret. He successfully blackmailed the Gorosei and it seems he never feared Imu's retaliation at all. It's as if... rather than the secret being something grand and to be feared, it was too shameful and shocking to be revealed.
- The idea that the empty throne being occupied has been revealed to us as the readers, but if it's revealed that the Gorosei let a kid be on the throne? That with a passing whim of a kid a country can be erased? Surely as Doffy said, it will shock the world
- It also explain why Gorosei can be blackmailed by such information. Rather than fearing about the weapon being stolen, they fear about the information itself being spread
- The scene of Donquixote family bowing down to 8 year old Doflamingo mimics the way Gorosei bowing down to Imu being portrayed. Everyone knows this, but I think Doffy's age also factor in the foreshadowing itself
- Doffy also have his own Dressrosa operation revolve on Sugar. Perhaps he mimics how Mary Geoise does things and it's further foreshadowing from the story
- The many ways Imu being portrayed so far seems... odd. Rather than an all mighty ruler feared and respected by Five Elders, it seems as if Gorosei revere Imu as a god... but somehow they can't let Imu go into the public? There seems to be minimal communication between Gorosei and Imu, and there's limited area within Mary Geoise that Imu is permitted to go. It's as if Imu is imprisoned in Mary Geoise and not she locked herself in.
- Also the thing I noticed is that in addition to not getting outside, she's being provided information that otherwise she should've known herself if she could get outside (such as the wanted posters and den den mushi in the throne room). And her attendant that told her when she could get outside.
- Imu felt the need to go to the dungeon just to compare the giant straw hat with Luffy's poster. Also she tore down the posters to pieces afterwards. This action seems odd for an adult, but for a kid? It makes sense
- What I'm suggesting with this theory is that Imu have the memory of Void Century, but it's fragmented (because she's forcefully kept young), and only some things could trigger the memory of a child: Shirahoshi poster -> Poseidon, BB and Luffy poster -> D clan, giant straw hat, and in the latest chapter, Vivi's poster -> "Lily"
- In addition to that, the angels for Imu, the newly created Seraphims, are kids. Maybe there's more point to it than just Oda want them to be kids
Another case can also be made that Imu is the missing Uranus, though I won't go that far, it seems likely. But it's for another time I suppose
interesting theory. it honestly holds some ground, the whole kid idea. also ties into the experimentation of gigantifying and why they would use children as their experiments on punk hazard. this could correlate to the giant strawhat that imu looked at, or even be some sort of symmetry to ace and oars making straw hats. maybe a similar thing happened where a giant man made a small straw-hat for someone before roger.
Did Charlos actually die?! 🤣
i looked at the moment zuneisha cried out and i wonder what you guys think of nobody being able to respond to the voice of all things.. except momo. i also wonder how luffy knew momo could command him. i suspect its due to momonosuke being the only currently known person with direct void century blood. since his mother is from that time. maybe his mother was connected to the people who commanded or banished zuneisha? like the original kingdom? it must've been some type of punishment form the ancient kingdom that cursed zuneisha. but the crazy part is. how do you punish an elephant.. or moreover, punish human by turning them into an elephant? what if the ancient kingdom could make someone into a zoan or what if zuneisha is a key into "ancient zoan" types? its a bit scattered but its strange how every time someone uses voice of all things they cant respond but only hear. but as we see in wano, momo can hear luffy speak. but the CRAZIER part is we have never seen anyone Use the voice of all things except for luffy. roger oden and momo have yet to actually speak through it (except for shanks who may have used it with greenbull, but that would have to mean greenbull had it too so its tacky) anyway, the whole voice of all things is confusing but very mysterious.
sadly i doubt it, odas probably gonna pull a spandam tbh
what if imu has a fruit which allows him to mark specific areas and manipulate the land within the place he marked, that could be why he somehow destroyed lulusia by just crossing it off the m ap. Which could also be why god valley vanished
pretty true, i also just realised something else. so both of the only rulers we know to have some kind of twisted fates are shirahoshi and momonosuke. both of them which have commanded beings on their own behalf. shirahoshi w seakings and momo with zuneisha. so what if imu actually is a child. we know imu is a "ruler of the world" , so maybe they have the ability to command gods knights in some way
The D is for devil, the ones whose dreams become fruits
This theory is nice. The D are considered demons because this race was kinda exploiting something to bring about the DFs, like a forbidden thing
Since the gorosei revealed luffy’s fruit to be a mythical ‘zoan’ there were many debates and theories about his other forms and powers. Luffy’s awakening was one of the moments that broke the internet. After going through a lot of theories I came to the conclusion that luffy’s fruit haven’t ‘awakened’ yet after all. This might seem stupid but try reading till the end.
So if I remember correctly we have seen 7 mythical zoans- marco – phoenix, sengoku - Buddha statue, kaido – dragon, devon-ninetailed fox, onimaru-warrior monk, luffy-nika,yamato-weird wano fox. Some of these devil fruits have a unique property that gives a paramecia effect like rubber body, healing from attacks, shockwaves, shape shifting, summoning storm clouds, etc. But the only thing all these fruits have in common is two or more transformations, except luffy.. These transformations is what makes them zoan. The only power luffy had before the said awakening is his rubbery body and his creative ‘inventions’ which can be considered similar to how ancient zoans have thicker skins.
Taking another awakened zoan, that is lucci’s case into consideration he had atleast two forms (base and that upright leopard) before the awakening and after the awakening still had two forms. If luffy could have atleast switched between rubber body and base form then he could have still be considered similar to lucci. But unlike lucci, luffy ‘gained’ a new form after awakening whereas lucci only boosted his earlier form. Also zunesha recognized luffi as joyboy ‘after’ the awakening. It is like calling lucci’s awakened form a leopard and preawakened form a yellow guy with spots all over. This has so far been just an observation and not a theory. The actually theory is actually a shot in the dark and might not make sense for some readers. So here it goes>>
First of why I assumed luffy to be awakened was because first Kaido claimed lufy has awakened. But because kaido only took luffy for a paramecia the powers he showcased after the said awakening was similar to a paramecia awakening(like turning his surroundings into rubber) so kaido could have misunderstood that luffy had awakened. My reason for which luffy suddenly gained such ridiculous powers but I refuse to call it an awakening is because the nature of luffy’s fruit. As we know zoan fruits have a mind on their own and luffy’s fruit in particular was intelligent enough to avoid the world government for like 800 years. Given luffy’s low IQ I think it’s not a stretch to assume that the fruit outsmarted luffy and gave luffy a test to check whether luffy is truly worthy of accessing its true ridiculous powers or something like that.
Since the fruit stands for liberation it tried probably suppressing it’s powers thereby limiting luffy’s freedom with the fruit in the process. But luffy truly reached the maximum one can reach with the basic powers. He stretched the limited freedom offered by the fruit to create his own forms mastered the advanced form of all three hakis and all. When I think about the moment luffy accessed gear 5 was when luffy was when he was in G4 and about deal a acoc punch to kaido when the cp0 agent cheated. The fruit then probably realized luffy’s peak still wasn’t enough to reach kaido lvl and took the restrictions over the power unleashing luffy’s next zoan form. This is why I believe G5 is just another form of luffy rather than being luffy’s awakening.
To be honest I don’t believe luffy reached the requirements for the fruit’s awakening. Since the fruit stands for liberation I personally think luffy will awaken when luffy is ready for true liberation. Sure, luffy has lierated a couple of countries and was about to liberate wano when he awakened. But that might not be enough.
Luffy might truly awaken wjhen he is ready to liberate the entire world by bringing down the world government, i.e the final war. There u go. This is my short theory. This could always be wrong because I don’t fully understand about the ‘awakening’of devil fruits. So please do share your thoughts and correct where I might be wrong. Also let me know if i am missing something i got a feeling that this isn't complete.
Kuma still has his DF powers it shows him use it on himself when he transported himself back to marijoa in Chapter 1068
@native wing links to theories are fine, but we request that people provide a short summary of it as well. It doesn’t have to be long, just 3-4 sentences summarizing the premise and some of the evidence used.
@obsidian yoke it’s a funny idea, but since it’s a battle prediction that doesn’t really have much evidence other than “this fits buggy’s character”, perhaps it’d be better to share stuff like that in #manga .
do you have any in-story evidence/reasoning to support it? Edit: once you have some proper evidence feel free to share it. Otherwise, #manga is a better place for that
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. This channel is for serious discussion- please read the channel description. Posts here must be in paragraph form, preferably with evidence, not just a one line open question.
Could I argue I am following reaccuring character themes and motifs and Oda story patterns as evidence for my theory?
As long as you bring up in-story examples to back up those claims that’s fine. But you’re going to have to explain how someone’s haki could hurt themselves, which imho is a reach because I don’t think has been explored yet. Fundamentally your theory hinges on explaining that part. Still, feel free to give it a shot and there’s always #manga-serious if you’re ever want to brainstorm it

Genius
Codenames and potential devil fruits
Facts
All known admirals outside of sengoku have been given a code name with the known style of color-animal.
All the animals of the currently known admirals have been included in the chinese Zodiac, Tiger, Dog, Monkey, Pheasant/Rooster, Bull.
There also 3 Vice Admirals who fit the known code name scheme, Tokikake/Chaton(Brown Pig) Momousagi/Gion(Pink Rabbit) and Kurouma/Tensei(Black Horse).
All 3 also are based on actors like the current admirals.(This is more speculative than 100% fact but it seems very likely)
Speculation
This leaves the Goat, Rat, Snake and Dragon zodiacs without a known alias.
Sengoku was very likely the previous holder of the goat alias. Something along the lines of Golden Goat since he had a pet goat.
Heavy Speculation
Smoker will eventually get the code name of white snake or “Shirohebi”. (This would be a nice detail to round out his arc since it’s so similar to Shirohige an infamous pirate meaning he would have fully embraced Kuzans ideals of individual justice)
Smoker’s epithet is literally white hunter and has an attack named white snake
This matches up perfectly with the current naming conventions for admirals including multiple having attacks referencing their code names.
He also may awaken his devil fruit gaining control over things such as clouds since it’s the plume plume fruit not the smoke smoke fruit
Crack Theories
Chaton will have some kind of dirt logia which fits his pig code name and brown coloring.
Momousagi will feature a paramecia based around luck/chance or games of some kind her vivre card mentions her like of games particularly classic “geisha” games
Kurouma may have a headless horsesmen mythical zoan which fits the theme of horses obviously
I’m not sure this would fit the definition of a theory since it’s pretty speculative at times so just tell me if you want me to move it
I expect Fujitora to be an ex holy knight. He was drafted directly to admiral, that’s not something that they would do to a random guy with no merits. Secondly he blinded himself because he had seen enough shit. Probably because he was in direct service to the celestials. He is portrayed as someone who has seen enough and now wants change. We have seen him talking with green bull in Marie Geoise as if they were acquaintances. And we saw GB say stuff like “you have no human rights” which is pretty much celestial dragon speech. He would also be an ex-knight. Both were chatting in MG as if they were at home.
no idea what your theory was, but if it came down to haki hurting oneself then two clues are. zoro explaining how that blade could extract his haki upon its own will and it possibly resulting in his death. and how luffy knew that using haki in g4 would result in him being completely unable to use it for 10 minutes. which we havent seen another person do yet
I agree especially with greenbull and the whole green knight angle that could be played out. Plus his personality and ideals would fit perfectly as an ex holy knight who left to be more pro active in hunting foes.
Good thoughts, but please continue this discussion in #manga-serious moving forward
@last snow since this channel’s for longer theories like the ones pinned, you need to provide a good amount of evidence/reasoning to support it. Otherwise, please use #manga-serious for shorter ideas like that

"Will of D is the will of the Dead."
Death in One Piece involves so many related powers and mysteries. Even in death the spirit and the will can still live on in different ways. Inherited will is a concept of continuing the legacy of the Dead and Devil Fruits are even physical objects born out of the will of dead spirits. We know that something both Roger and Luffy did was laugh at the very brink of death, as if they both accepted it with no remorse.
It is this joy at facing death that makes Joyboy so powerful so much so that he could literally fight side by side with death. We know from Brook that souls reside in a realm of the dead, and I believe that Joyboy alone has the soul or haki powerful enough to harness the power of death and fight with the power of dead souls (very similar to nightmare Luffy in Thriller Bark).
I doubt this purely based on the actions fujitora took after dressrosa. Bowing down and apologizing to the citizens and riku. I imagine the holy knights being more like green bull in their strict beliefs that the celestial dragons are the gods of the world.
but that would be exactly why fujitora's blinded himself; bound to his duties but hating how fucked up the world is, then leaping at the opportunity to get away from it all
the main point against it would be how unaccustomed fujitora and meme bull are to fighting while the celestial dragons are in the crossfire imo
Any idea about Coby?
But that's the theory's whole point they are making in the first place. Fujitora wasn't like typical Holy Knights and he began seeing it that way. Hence he left, hence he blinded himself. Hence he felt guilty for whatever the government has been doing and hence he apologized. It all goes well with someone who experienced something horrible and wanted to do good instead.
If he were like greenbull then this theory won't exist because Fujitora would be exactly like greenbull
Oh nvm i just noticed someone else also responded.
I think the mouse would be kinda fitting considering his whole coward to bravery arc
Nice nice
@frozen skiff @maiden stump this channel is for longer theories like the ones pinned that have a good amount of in-story evidence/reasoning. Please use #manga-serious for shorter ideas like that
Here’s a question I just thought of… Oda hasn’t explained what Luffys fruit can really do yet… so what if Luffys fruit can do anything? It was explained that the person with that fruit fights with more freedom than anyone. So what if Luffy can have fire abilities ice abilities lighting blah blah blah, but the reason he only uses rubber powers is cuz that’s what Shanks told him the fruit is (the Gomu Gomu no mi). Like Luffy got gear 2 because he made up some bullshit reason in his head to make that happen. Then for gear 3 he was like if I blow air into my thumb my arm will get bigger. Like that’s not how that works but because Luffy thinks it works it does because the fruit lets him do whatever he wants. Then you have red roc which is fire like how does that work? It doesn’t but Luffy thinks it does. Same with Thor Gun the lightning move. So what if Luffy learns about his fruit and realizes he can use any devil fruit ability he wants as long as he can think of it?
A lot of people believe that this is the case (e.g. once he learns it is not the “rubber rubber” fruit, his power will only be limited by his imagination), but being rubber is definitely part of the fruit. In the intro, and even in the reanimated intro, we see Luffy eating the gomu gomu no mi, then shanks grabs him and tells him to spit it out, and then his legs stretch until his face hits the floor. If your theory is correct, and he only has rubber powers because shanks told him so, how would his legs have stretched BEFORE shanks told him what the fruit did?
I don’t think this means Luffy CANT have the power of imagination; we’ve already seen him grab lightning and red roc. However, rubber body is inherently a part of the fruit as well.

Hello again everyone
I've added and pinned a new list of excellent theories that have been posted here in since the last pin. They cover a wide range of topics and some very interesting perspectives, so I encourage everyone to browse the list and see if anything sounds intriguing.
As a reminder, I pin each batch, so if you want to see the previous batches, please check the pins!
Big thank you once again to everyone who not only posts these big theories, but also those who have provided feedback and participated in the deep dive discussions that inspire theories.

When the straw hats went to long ring Long Island they said it was boring but Luffy loved it the was tall and it looked as if it was stretched “sun god Nikkq” the old man said the people of the island felt freedom and he said Luffy felt familiar
Shout-out to this batch of theories, some amazing work in there! Oda would be proud
Personal favorite is the one about awakenings
but the one about the den den mushi is so well written it’s insane. Never would have thought about it myself
haha, thanks for posting about one of my theories Modoo!
The den den mushi one threw me off because of how wild it was, but that’s what made me believe it ngl. I did notice things that were too humanoid like touching butterfly, desire to even interact with it and sitting down. But overall it was exciting to read through
I think it’s more likely that den den mushi were created in the likeness of imu’s silhouette rather than imu being one
I still think it's crazy people are taking the denden mushi theory seriously
The Perpetual Youth Surgery changes a person's eyes and Mihawk is immortal
This is a simple and straightforward theory claiming that if Imu benefited from the Ope Ope no Mi's immortality surgery, other characters might also have in the past.
The wild assumption is that when the Perrenial Youth Operation is performed, it changes the target's eyes.
The characters with similar eyes to Imu's are to my knowledge Zoo, Caribou, perhaps Cavendish and definitely Mihawk.
It makes sense for Zoo to be immortal, he's been living since Joy Boy's time at least ;
Caribou would be unexpected, it would however explain how Caribou is connected to some mysterious and probably relevant person. Cavendish and Caribou are kind of the weak spot of this theory.
If the eye thing happens to be true, it would provide a very consistent explanation of Mihawk's power : Mihawk is eternally young, he's been honing his skills for centuries
What do we know about logia fruits awakening
Literally nothing. Not a single thing has ever been said in the story about logia awakenings. But here is the only theory I’ve seen that tries to explain logias: #manga-theories message
In JupiterCoyote’s theory, he mentions Aokiji and Akainu are generally believed to be awakened: #manga-theories message
I disagree with this due to the fact that mihawk has aged and is 43 currently and still had his peculiar eyes when he was 19 during rogers execution.
Wild theory: Mihawk does not have conqueror's, but Croc and Buggy do. Well this is basically more of a theory that Buggy and Crocodile have conqueror's Haki, the Mihawk bit is mainly for balancing + having a top tier without conqueror's. Now, I think that Buggy either awakened his Haki in the recent cross guild chapter or will awaken it in the future, maybe to save Shanks or someone else. We know that he's been suppressing his dreams for years now and has a similar potential to Shanks. While this won't make him too overpowered, it definitely makes him at least a competent character to pair with his more serious role from here on. As for Crocodile having conqueror's, I think it has to do with the reignited spark from Marineford that was extinguished by Whitebeard. While it would be hilarious if Buggy was the only conqueror's user on his crew, it's probably more likely that he and Mihawk have it. Still, just a random crack theory
Mihawk is literally the best swordsman fighting for said title with Shanks which as we know has the strongest conquerors to date, how would be not have it
This is great honestly, feels so coherent and well structured
Yep was going to point that out as well
Obviously you're right

@neat mirage @strange hound since this channel's for long theories, please ask general questions in #manga-serious .
@little sorrel @quiet moon please use #manga or #manga-serious for shorter ideas like that. Theories here need some in-story evidence/reasoning to support it.
@inland cobalt please don't make highly speculative predictions in this channel that aren't tethered to in-story evidence/reasoning that can support it. Your idea on Zoro's final swords require a lot of headcannon to justify him somehow acquiring those swords. Please use #manga or #manga-serious for that.
@fallow bobcat your theory/prediction feels a little murky because you seem to be stating that someone with a "reignited dream/spark" is a CoC user but you're going back and forth between Crocodile and Mihawk. While the way you characterized Buggy makes sense, I fail to see how Crocodile comes into this because in ch1082 he was clearly still interested in building a utopia, which is no different from his ambitions in Alabasta. Also as others brought up, it's strange to think that Mihawk wouldn't have it because of that criteria. Although I would like some clarification on what you think are the qualities of a CoC user and why some have it and others don't, you've already stated this is a crackpot theory. so we dont know who luccis parents are... but he do be looking mighty nefretiri
that being said i think Spandine is his dad, hes got the same eyebrows, some chin hair, but a fucking LUST for killing, reveling in the government giving him the go ahead
which would be funny as fuck because that makes Spandam and Lucci brothers
but it also brings some parallels to when Spandine comes to Ohara to find the poneglyph and destroy everyone involved, Lucci was sent to Toms workshop to find the Pluton plans and the one person who could read it
I don’t understand what you mean by Nefertiti so I’m going to put that aside. Spandine and Lucci don’t have the same beard at all nor do their eyebrows have the same thickness at any point in time. More importantly, a lot of OP characters have similar features so using things like eyebrows is a bit of a stretch (tbf Lucci’s beard has a pretty unique style). Is there anything story-wise that more concretely ties the two together? Has Spandem ever talked about a long lost brother or has Lucci ever spoken about his family?
If people's dreams can truly manifest into a Devil Fruit, I think one or several of the Straw Hat's dreams could manifest into a Devil Fruit. Specifically, I think it is possible that Zoro could create the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Ashura after defeating Mihawk. Of course, we don't specifically know how this manifests or if Vegapunk's theory is even true. (It most likely is though). If Devil Fruits are created at a certain location like a potential DF tree, it is possible Zoro could fight Mihawk at a DF tree or some other location where the fruits spawn. Zoro has Conqueror's Haki and second strongest will to Luffy, but the Nika fruit's will likely already corresponds to Luffy and his dream (we also don't know what Luffy's real dream is). We still have no real explanation for what Ashura is, but this could be an interesting conclusion.
As for the abilities of this fruit, most likely it would be like what Zoro's Asura form already grants but with more defined Zoan transformations. The Hybrid form could be like Zoro's normal Asura with 9 arms, whereas the full transformation gives them more demon-like qualities alongside the arms. Possibly some sort of darkness/hellfire manipulation could be involved as a secondary power (since most Mythical Zoans have secondary abilities).
I'm pretty sure that a lot of people would need to wish it into existence
the fruit that is
thats how i interpreted that from vegapunk
and to an extent, Who's Who
Couple of questions:
-
So if all it takes is one person to have a big dream, are you saying that for the past 800 years anyone that had big dreams/aspirations and reached their goal(s) could (or has) manifested a devil fruit? I’ve been under the assumption that df creation in general has halted since the Void Century (because Vegapunk’s theory isn’t the full answer), but what you’ve stated is implying that we can still make new devil fruits.
-
Although Smile dfs are shown to be growing from a tree, what makes you think there is an actual devil fruit tree? Ace’s fruit respawned somewhere far away from Marineford (where he died) and the Axotol devil fruit from Punk Hazard spawned in a basket of fruit nearby the death of its user; traditional dfs have a habit of respawning randomly and sometimes around fruits that resemble it. If devil fruits do respawn on a devil fruit tree, what is stopping the marines/pirates from camping near that tree and maintain a steady stream of devil fruits? Personally, I think this is very unlikely because we’re repeatedly told that devil fruit encounters are very rare, to the point where communities that lived 800+ years ago called it “sorcery” or “curses” by (Wano and FMI). If it grew from a tree I’d imagine people would be less scared of it and it would be more prevalent.
Zoro has shown a variety of attack styles that have motifs related to humans, animals, ghosts, demons/ashura, and even hell. Ashura is a part of his skillset that could certainly be encapsulated into a devil fruit. I’m just concerned that Vegapunk’s theory is only part of the answer. Also, I don’t understand how Zoro’s skills turning into a devil fruit serves his story.
Correct if I’m wrong but isn’t Zoro Buddhist or practiced Buddhist principles? Anyways, I think Oda is constantly having vegapunk say “but that’s just my theory” because it’s only part of the answer. He’s giving us hints while saying “it’s a bit more complex than that, and there’s more to it.” Basically edging us on without fully explaining. And yeah I feel like it’d have to be multiple people wishing for the fruit. And even then Zoro doesn’t seem to be wishing to be asura or anything
I believe they confused the Nefertari family with the historical Nefertiti, they probably mean that Lucci looks to be from the Nefertari family?
Lucci is definitely Italian
I don’t know if his disposition relates to Buddhism but I’ve heard theories a long time ago that attempted to tie his attack styles into it.
I mean Cobra does have a long beard, but it’s still not the same style as Lucci’s post-timeskip...

Theory: The One Piece is a comedic tale of Joyboy and his friends journey written on a Poneglyph.
My theory is that the One Piece is actually an inworld narrative comedic tale of Joyboy and friends traveling through the world carved on a Poneglyph. We know that Joyboy had travelled to various islands that are far apart from each other. May that be sky islands, fishman island, Wano country, and so on. The story could be of Joyboy exploring the world with his friends, one of them being Zunesha, knowing Zunesha's size perhaps Joyboy and his friends travelled on his back to travel all across the world. Meeting and recruiting new friends as Joyboy travels more. It could include funny tales and adventures of them travelling the world, thus why Roger and literally everyone else with Roger laughed at that day after witnessing what One Piece truly was. A story that made people smile even after centuries, knowing Joyboy is the embodiment of 'Joy' and 'Freedom' he would obviously want to bring a smile on people's face making them laugh. Maybe Joyboy's dream was to make everyone feel joy and happiness. Considering the War in void century would take away people's happiness and smiles that would make Joyboy's dream to want to bring happiness and freedom to everyone even more strong. Knowing his fun adventures would bring joy to the people listening/reading it, he could've wrote it on a Poneglyph after he completed his journey. The island being named "Laugh tale" is also a strong evidence of this. Roger even wished that he could've been born in his era meaning he enjoyed Joyboy's adventures that much.
After reading such a funny narrative story of a Man who wanted nothing more then to make others laugh and feel joy, Roger simply laughed.
we have also seen that Poneglyphs have written stories and apologises that are not related to ancient weapons and such, Oda also stated that the One Piece is a physical thing.
It is also poetic that various amounts of Poneglyphs lead to a single Poneglyph IMO.
extra ideas about the "Jaguar Binks" theory. wherein JoyBoy is the moniker of Saul's father, Jaguar Binks (not confirmed or said). this "implied" through the possible wordplay in saul's name. Saul = Sol = Sun = Son effectively making his name the son of D "D Son". it makes sense for joyboy to have been a giant given the giant straw hat. Also, JoyBoy -> JB -> Jaguar Binks. it just makes so much sense with how much oda loves wordplay.
So essentially Saul is the first D? It's pretty plausible that Saul is related to Joy Boy but I feel like he'd be the grandson instead.

@undone holly It is certainly possible that any devil fruit could exist, but it has never been implied that Imu has a devil fruit. @pure raven do you have any actual evidence to support that?
harmony?
there's a poem called "The Iroha" that became famous for using every character in the Japanese language, essentially their version of "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." the first sentence of this poems begins with the character い, or イ ("I"). another sentence in the first half of this poem ends with the letter む, or ム ("Mu"). what does this excerpt roughly translate to?
"いろはにほへと ちりぬるを わかよたれそ つねならむ"
"Although it's scent (colors?) still linger, the flower petals scatter and fall. For whom will the glory of this world remain forever?"
... but there's a problem. in the present day, む "Mu" does not appear in the poem, it's been replaced by ん "N." let's look past this for just a moment.
more interestingly, the Iroha inspired the notes on the musical scale.
EN: DO RE MI FA SO LA TI DO
JP: I RO HA NI HO HE TO I
so "I" is right at the beginning, which corresponds to the first note on the musical scale, A. but where is "Mu" on this scale? again, when this poem was originally written, "N" was written as "Mu." instead we need to look for something corresponding to "N" -> "Ni".
if "I" represents A on the scale, what note does "Ni" represent? "D."
Wado Ichimonji has no direct inference to Lodestar Island. The kanjis are nowhere close to the same. By that logic one could argue Enma is guiding Zoro towards Hell, which I don’t agree with. More importantly, assuming Harmony=Lodestar, your evidence would mean that Wado Ichimonji, not Zoro, is the eternal pose you speak of.
what if its more about zodiac sign
the black arrows could be
zodiac sign Sagittarius since he is known to never miss his marks
It’s kinda obvious now, the D stands for Descendant
Imu is totally 3-5 Tontattas in a trench coat (/srs)
imu destroying the island was definitely the use of an acient weapon, because if he could he would have just used the same ability to erase sabo from existence
We've heard from Vegapunk that the devil fruits appear throught the desaire of people... Could we actuaally have an Roger Roger no Mi or something like that?
After all, this Great Age of Pirates was originated from Roger conquer the sea so of course there are probably a tone of people who wished to be like him...
Little theory:
Everyone has the D in their name
Cobra says something about "We share the moniker 'D' ", and later on we see a flashback with Ace and Luffy reflecting on whether it is a coincidence or not, and they just say "Err.... I guess"
I believe Cobra's dialogue there wasn't targetted just at the Nefertari family but by everyone, meaning that everyone can be an enemy of the Gods, and the fact that people still have D in their name without being hidden means the voices of their ancestors were stronger in the past (they are 'Echoes' as Imu said)
they were on the same island…

i know its new because maybe in the chapter this came up now, but do we have any theories about who is Zunesha?? because i really think that Zunesha is Lili paying for her blunder crime like Imu's reference says in this new chapter... i think the way Imu's say that is likewise they refered about Zunesha crimes.
So interesting thought- if we’re still going under the assumption that it was Shanks that met with the Gorosei, he also likely knows something about their newly revealed transformation if he has the connections/knowledge to get an audience with them.
He might now know about imu because they seem pretty secretive. Can’t wait for more to be revealed.
Due to Nika and Buddha being the revealed god fruits so far, and the level we see them at, I think it would make sense that the Gorosei might also have god Zoan fruits that correspond to the animal years of the Chinese calendar, as that seems to be the trend so far when it comes to revealed god fruits being tied to Chinese culture
Yeah they seemed to have some sort of transformation in the throne room, mythical/ancient zoan fruits are definitely plausible
Just as a reminder guys, this channel is exclusively for long-form theories and the discussion of those theories. Any comments on the new chapter are best to post in the other 3 manga channels
Neffatari D. Lily scattered the poneglyph.
I got some crazy thoughts on this.
What if the poneglyphs were part of one big cube..like the road poneglyphs were actually 4 parts of one big cube, so the only answer for how to find One Piece is to combine those texts together.
The reason why the poneglyph was scattered was because Lily had the power of Bara Bara no Mi? Buggy really bugs me tho...he has the same hair colour with vivi, assuming Lily has the same hair colour too..why do I say this? I'm just assuming some interesting connections..like luffy and joyboy/roger...blackbeard and "xebec"..buggy and Lily, the reason why buggy is one of the top spotlight now, why oda make buggy the yonkou, considereing there might be a something with shanks meeting the gorosei to talk about a certain pirate..there must be something about buggy.so yeah, wild guess huh?
Hmm, do u guys think the "arrow" Imu used is an arrow? The way I see it, it looks like a tail, like a devil's tail you know. So got me thinking, what if Imu-sama is an extinct species from a certain kingdom that can transform similar to a Lunarian (in their case they do offensive and defensive mode depending on their flame) and if Imu-sama were to have DF, I would say base on the happenings, he or she'll have a Space Space fruit or Void void fruit. If Imu-sama is the one who did the laser thing on the sky, then it would make sense he/she would keep that weapon from the ancient past close to him/her like it came from his pocket space. If Time fruit exist then space would make sense.
Or maybe, Im Sama has the same Cartoon Power luffy has, only deturped to a evil way
Hmmm as opposed to Joyboy, Imu would be Soyboy haha
So, my best theory so far: Lili is Toki that reached Wano and teached them how to create and read poneglyphs.
I believe that the powers that gorosei and imu have are yokai monsters
Same thoughts but i think somebody will say here such theories like yours will need to be in #manga-serious
I always got confused about the channels.. thanks.
Alright guys how about this… What if the 3 shadow figures from the Florian Triangle were more of the giant robots from the void century like the one that attacked Marie Jois 200 years ago and was found by Vegapunk???
Far too large, they were dwarfing thriller bark
Yup too large, my best guess on the 3 shadows are, theyre a part of the base connecting to a sky island above florian triangle

I think Gorosei Ghandi Myth Zoan is based on Amatsu-Mikaboshi/Myōken.
In myths, Mikaboshi was called the August Star of Heaven and Scarecrow Man of Heaven. He was associated with Venus.
Confirmed by oda
I wouldnt be mad at this
phew finally someone noticed my theory! 😭 Thats fine, would love to add in more ideas from other ppl
i shared it around
tis theory was so good
One piece divine comedy 👍
yup. way too much of a coincidence to have that flashback after Cobra says "we're all D". I think being a D doesn't mean being direct descendants of the enemies of Gods but will to defy them. Sabo probably doesn't have ancestors related to the D people but now that Cobra passed down the will to him and the fact that he already opposes the WG, he can take up the D moniker.
A little side theory is that Ace's mother was probably told of the meaning of D by Roger. And she realized that how important it is for Roger's will to go on, which gave her extra motivation to be pregnant for 20 months
The gorosei are of the same kind of the monsters we saw after Thriller Bark.
They can alter their shapes and size as we clearly saw when Imu countered Sabo’s fire fist attack by eating it with some big mouth.
I also don’t think it’s a devil fruit. It could be a whole different race. They probably came from one of the moons in space. And they came here to disguise as the government and take over the world
Similar to those conspiracy theories about the Queen of England being a fucking lizard lmfao
What's the best posted theory on the meaning of D?
Two gorosei had the same awakening clouds we see in luffy, kaku, lucci, and (part of my personal theory) Yamato. That means that at least two are awakened zoans
Bec's original idea: #also-manga message
My follow up reply: #manga-theories message
I am not aware of any other D theories with some meat on them but maybe others have
Anyone remember sad boy theory
I think the gorosei aren't even human. I think Imu has a Kraken Mythical fruit and they were ink creatures the whole time. they way they move looks really fluid. If they were real Zoan users, I don't think their silhouettes would look like that. They look similar to Big Mom's Soul collector souls. I think they aren't sillouettes at all: They are just black creatures. I think Imu keeps themself covered in Ink too. The arrow-like attack they used was a tentacle. I also think narratively speaking it would make sense too, because what's a better enemy to pirates than a giant kraken?
Another thing which is kinda an afterthought but I was just thinking Imu is trying to essentially rewrite history. You gotta use Ink to write. Silly, I know, but I think it makes sense
According to the current chapter there was one ruler among the 20 WG founding families who shares the same name as Imu. If we assume they're the same person, we can assume Imu is immortal. Probably through the immortality surgery.
So my theory is, Imu doesn't have a physical body anymore and is no longer human. One can become immortal and undying, but it doesn't mean your body is invincible and non-aging. Centuries have passed and no matter how you preserve a body, it won't stop time from decomposing your body. At some point in time Imu must have lost/left their physical body. What remains left is the soul (like Brook's soul form), but in Imu's case it can interact with physical objects. That's why I believe the dark silhouette that we have seen in manga and anime was intended and is the actual form of Imu.
The way they speak indicate they see themselves above anyone else like a transcended being. Following this interpretation, it wouldn't be far-fetched.
Power of imagination versus Power of ink (write story and change it). Makes sense. BTW, the arrow really looks like an arrow written on a block of paper.
The Gorosei are def human, you can see the one react when the Order to kill Dr clover was given. Aint no way an ink creature is gonna show emotion
Oda broke fourth wall with luffy imagination (rolling eyes ... etc...). Will be amasing if Imu start to draw the manga itself to change story xD. OMG xD
Lili doesn't have to be Toki for this to be true.
It’s possible the Road Poneglyphs and Red Poneglyphs were originally housed in Shandia
So I’m starting to feel that Imu conspiracy , let me explain. We know that the great kingdom was destroyed by an enemy and then the world government was formed. But what if that enemy who had enough power and intelligence to defeat the great kingdom , then used a way to lure in the royals so he can keep them close. Why keep them close ? Their bloodlines will be necessary somewhere at Mary Geoise and that is why the celestial dragons are so protected even if they are literally useless and incompetent. So the whole world government history and 20 kingdoms is a conspiracy that was created by Imu to be able to bring in all the royals and use them for a grand scheme that will only be possible soon. Joyboy was trying to save the whole world and that is why Lily and so many other countries tried to pass on the messages with the poneglyphs, because it’s much more than a hidden history about the past , the poneglyphs are explanations about Imus grand plan.
Imu's "weapon" (at least I think this attack is coming from Imu) looks a lot like the devils tail...
Theory: Tokki is Nefartari Lilli
Let me explain, Tokki used the time - time fruit to go forward in time to check if she successfully completed her 'blunder', it is also stated that Wano used to be open to the world so it would make sense that Tokki would travel to an island that used to be open during the time of the ancient kingdom. It was not explicitly said why she needed to go to the land of wano but i think that the ancient kingdom as allies of the land of wano. By vegapunk it is also stated that the technology back in the day was way more advanced than what it is now, so perhaps Tokki used an alias to ensure she was not erradicated by the WG as she was a 'D' member. Some people may counter argue why she wouldn't just go into time where the final war is happening, but perhaps she stayed with Kozuki Oden as it was successful. Idk about this theory but i just made it up now.
'' Their bloodlines will be necessary '' maybe only nobles can interact/command Ancient weapons?
That attack came from Saturn and he's shown to have devil horns, I think he ate the "devil" devil fruit
I read through it again and I think you might be right. In these panels it looks like the attack came from one of the Gorosei to the left of Cobra and since we're probably about to see Saturn fight in Egghead Island Oda probably wanted to reveal a bit of his powers before that main fight happens. It does still look like like Imu has a DF power when he eats Sabos attack though.
Great theory! Should be pin 📌 if there’s not one like it
thank you! and i dont think there is a theory similar to this
thank you man!!
My theory is not that it’s written but they actually see it. Luffys joyboy or all joy boys, but they actually see Luffys adventures, that’s why they know what need to happen and that a certain person will come in 20 years. They are also laughing at buggy becoming pk in newspapers
Oh i see, well its quite different from mine in that sense then. still a nice theory tho
Because let’s be real, they have seen the future as implied by a lot of things
We shall see
Idea: God Valley wasn't erased by Uranus, it is Uranus.
Maybe imu swolled It all?
What if those creatures is the manifestation of haki sabo couldn’t block it and he’s a haki master so this begs the question is imu the manifestation of haki? Is there a haki fruit?
One of the most scariest chapters of one piece, seariouly
i think they are the actual demons inside of fruits
Maybe but I think haki is alive
like everybodies haki has a will?
Yes and there’s wills destruction and thus manifest destruction
y'aknow? i don't think that "shadow arrow" was really an arrow. i think it was a devil tail

wait… doesnt a straw hat look like the aun on the ocean like 🌅
that was great,
just looking at what happened in the throne room with Imu. i think Imu has a devil fruit power, chess board .imu is king, gorosei are -bishop-knight-ect. and the holy knights are pawns,
that would make imu king, a male role imus been pretty androgynous
that why i didnt mention the queen . both
Yall I think that Imu and the monsters in silhouette just look like that
I think Imu has some kind of darkness/spectral/ghost ability
Imu has the time fruit and used the ancient weapons to erase lulusia and history from the 800 year void
i mean its damn well sihlouette sihlouette no mi from oda
but general shape seems to be there and that they are some typoe of mythical zoan
I think that Imu used their ink/moon/dark/whatever fruit to intentionally silhouette the Gorosei cause they wanted to keep their DF powers secret for some reason
Same reason I think they keep themself in shadow too
i think the name lili is a parallel to to Lilith (who left the garden of eden (marijoe) after being seduced by lucifer (joyboy))
the reason i say lucifer is joyboy is because the will of D's are painted as the enemies of god (lucifer) and also that i dont think anyone else fits the role
this is most likely been said a few times but

Jaygarcia Saturn's Devil Fruit is related to Matadors / Bull Fighting
According to Wikipedia: "The practice of bullfighting in the Iberian Peninsula and southern France are connected with the legends of Saturnin of Toulouse and his protégé in Pamplona, Fermin. These are inseparably linked to bull-sacrifices by the vivid manner of their martyrdoms set by Christian hagiography in the third century."
This and the fact that he looks like a bull and the name Minataur is taken by our favorite jailer - i believe it will be something along the lines of Hito Hito No Mi Model Matador
Or maybe their blood is needed to create more weapons / activate their full power.
If we have a Hispano Fruit, i will be happy
i feel like the 20 ancient kingdoms are supposed to represent the largest colonizers/empires in history and the gorosei make up some of the largest
Spanish (Saturn)
America (monopoly man)
German (blondie with the blue eyes)
Russian (Rasputin looking one)
Japanese (monopoly man with a sword)
Blondie will be Britain not Germán, tho. The Britain Empire was bigger than the German, if i not mistake
I think the British empire was the largest of all time so potentially linked to Imu
Would be very Oda to make her look like the queen or a parody of her
But totally can see them being British
I can see that.
Or maybe Marie Antoniette. France had more history with revolutions, and Dragon can be Napoleon in thats regards (I know Oda say he was inspired by Fidel Castro, but who knows)
I like this one
Yeah this kinda falls flat with the history angle imo
If it is historical empires then some massive ones would be missing for some really odd fits like America would be a very weird case since so much of it was basically double taken once from the Native Americans then again from Europeans and they never made any serious efforts to expand past the current borders
It’s such a drastically different type of expansion and empire throwing it in with traditional colonial empires just doesn’t really work thematically
this could also lead to a mini series after one piece that tells the tales of Joyboy
i like this
I agree there isn’t a clear correlation but america is another one that just seems so clear to me
The guy looks like the monopoly man and his transformation is a pig or a capitalistic pig
Doesn’t have to be a devil fruit in any relation to America/capitalism/monopoly but i see the parallels
I say Russia as the tall guy cuz Rasputin is such a badass figure in history and he’s tall lanky and has the beard stache
Also his dragon transformation is like a trademark Rasputin thing? Or it seems so with google searches
its funny. theres a Devil fruit called akuma-akuma fruit or oni-oni fruit? i think one of the gorosei,
Anyone thinking when Sabo said hell is at the top?
I think now the devil fruits is related to hell theme now. And imu has the one that is devil-devil, and that is the satan tail attacking. Looking at the shadows, the gorosei might have devil fruits such as Malphas and Behemoth
I think Saturn is the one with the Satan tail. He's also shown with horns and Saturn is linked to the devil, so he might have the "devil" fruit.
As for the rest, the Gan Fall looking guy likely has a cockatrice fruit although I'll be throwing out the Minokawa, a sun eating monster bird from the mythology of the Philippines.
Gorbachev might be a Baku since we see his ears and he tried to bite Cobra. His moustache could have turned into horns.
As some people have mentioned before, Gandhi likely has the Mikaboshi fruit and is named Venus. He has the smoke ring associated with awakened fruits as well as Asian deities.
The blonde is a bit of a mystery for now but he might have a Logia.
The 2nd one could also be a hybrid form idk I'm totally not oda. Imu also looks like the axolotl df fruit from punk hazard
jack already has the mammoth fruit
The one labeled as mammoth looks like a boar to me.
Than he might have a elephant fruit or something to that nature also boar is every possible
the rightmost one is most likely the gorbechov looking gorosei. simply because the tusks/ mustache shape retains in this form as well
1.Horn-odin fruit 2.elephant-ganesha fruit.3. Morgan- horus fruit.
What if Imu has a fruit that can bend/shape reality similar to luffys nika fruit?
Do you guys still remember when big mom talking with kido about the 3 races she still needs to add to her arsenal?
The giants and KING race and then when she wanted to mention the 3rd one it got cut out I wonder what is that 3rd race (dunno if it's Kuma??)
not sure. maybe oni? members: oars, oars jr, possibly kaido
Have we confirmed that Kaido is an oni race?
no, i said possibly
Ah yeah, I don't remember oda shares what Yamato or kaido race regardless on how they look
Imu's devil fruit being the "nothing-nothing" fruit might be a possibility, because he was able to wipe out islands instantaneously.
The island's destruction was probably done by Uranus/secret weapon not with the fruit
some may argue that Imu uses a weapon tho yea
an interesting theory is that joyboy, zunesha, and imu are all connected somehow. this is a good possibility
How is that a possibility? We know it’s a fact
I don’t think that’s the case. If you look at the scene we see a dark cloud forming before the beam strikes lulusia kingdom, and also note that it comes from the sky, and the god Uranus is the personification of the sky, so I don’t think it was a fruit power but actually the ancient weapon Uranus
Isn't Jack already a mammoth?
Zunesha came to wano for joyboys awakening and both left a promise unfinished, possibly something they would do together. Imu is pretty much confirmed to be one of the founders that were joyboys enemies
Yeah that'd why I said elephant df kf that nature
The cp9 dudes sword has the elephant fruit, also I don’t think an elephant or mammoth really fits with the other fruits the gorosei are using
I wouldn’t assume those are fruits. They could be not human beings. Those silouetthes look way too ghostly
I feel like Luffy and Zoro would time travel into the past and being disappointed that joyboy doesn't exist he decides to become joyboy
Yeah I know I’m just making assumptions, also potentially extensions of imus fruit (if they have one) or just imus power, but I think them not being humans makes good sense aswell
As another guy said it's possible for it to be a boar so any tusked animal/prehistoric animal/god/mythological creature ig
What if there's a heir to the throne of the world and joy boy was the rightful heir but imu and the other 20 countries conspired to steal the crown
Joyboy running the world goes against his idea of freedom I think, also just want to through this in as seen some people have this a different way Nika is a title and joyboy was someone who got the fruit
What about the Baku (It eats "dreams", too!)
Yeah I thought they have hell/demonic powers too. Stretching this out a bit, does this mean the original “D” family had holy/angelic powers to be their natural enemies?
On the context of this, I don’t have much reference at hand but would likely enjoy writing something full about demonology, but they might be inspired on princes of hell, Astaroth, Magoth, Asmodee, Beelzebub, Oriens, Paimon, Ariton (Egin) and Amaymon.
I do like the idea of them having full on mythological demon fruits, and a way of them being tied to one another in demonology’s branch might be having them as Planetary demons, since princes are 8 and kings are 4, planetary demons are specifically 5 so that would match greatly, all of this is refered in the Key Of Solomon which is Jewish myth and litherature
maybe luffy's wish was to rule the world
My theory is that all the Gorosei are related to darkness or the consumption of the sun and dreams. Saturn is the devil, yes, but he's also the god Saturn, known for eating his children "the dreams/dawn" in this case.
Gandhi is likely Mikaboshi, a darkness deity.
Sanji's uncle is still unknown, we don't even know if he's the salamander on the throne or if it's Imu so we can't speculate
Merlin might be the Minokawa, a monster bird from the Philippines known to eat the sun.
Gorbachev might be the Baku, a dream eater
I cant send pic, read chpter 154 when D first mention.. there is panel foreshadowing the birth of new country with unusual flag ( Dawn flag?)… ancient kingdom arc probably will be similar with drum kingdom arc
I think imu or whoever had that devil like tail has the devil devil devil fruit
I’m just saying I’ve said the gorosei will be strong ever since I saw them and ppl thought they were weak mfs Saturn boutta rock luffys shit
The devil can shape shift so perhaps imu shifted their body to kill cobra and eat Sabos fire
Imu's Power
I believe that Imu is not a mythical zoan- but rather the wielder of the Scribe Scribe fruit, the superior version of Kanjuros Brush Brush Fruit, making them an author human.
Ever since Imus introduction, they have been veiled in a pure black shadow, to the point where people question whether that's just Oda concealing their appearance, or it is actually related to their ability.
I believe both aspects of this are true. Imus true appearance is being concealed not by Oda, but by Imu themselves, almost wanting to stop the AUDIENCE from seeing them by manipulating the ink on the page to appear as nought but a shadow.
This means that Imu can essentially maniplulate the flow of the story to their own will, quite literally. Back in chapter 1060, we see a hand that may be Imus crossing Lulusia off a map, prompting a giant shadowy figure to appear and destroy the island.
What if this shadowy figure isn't Uranus at all, but a construct made by Imu to remove Lulusia from their story, to "retcon" it as though it never existed.
The Gorosei themselves may also be constructs of Imu made to perform tasks they deem as too trivial. I say this because we are discovering this information amidst the Egghead Island arc, in which Dr Vegapunk and his satellites have been a major focus. Oda may have waited to reveal the events of the Reverie so that we understand the concept of creating satellites before showing off Imus shapeshifting abilities.
In essence, a character is the WILL of the author personified, being a vessel for their intentions which can be manipulated and altered as the author pleases, much like how Vegapunks satellites function and how Imu controls the Gorosei. The shadows the Gorosei appear as may not be devil fruit transformations of their own, but rather ones that Imu has had them undergo using their ability to manipulate the characters of their story, which they have total control over as the author of history.
This may also explain why the Ponegylphs cannot be erased and why they seem to annoy Imu so much. Imu may have sought to erase the void century completely from history, quite literally crossing it out like Lulusia, but as the Poneglyphs are likely made with Sea stone they could not be destroyed by Imus fruit power
I think Oda would choose this fruit because of what it can really symbolise in the story. Not only is ink black, going against the idea of light or the dawn, but it also gives Imu total control, taking away the freedom of those who live inside of their story. The only one who can TRULY oppose them is Luffy whose own power can also manipulate reality, which is why the government so fear the D and the Hito Hito no mi Model Nika, representing the freedom and individuality of those who live within the world of One Piece, having their own dreams beyond being part of Imus story.
The arrow that appears and stabs Cobra looks a lot like a devil's tail, which is likely an intentional reference, but what if this is Oda playing around with the idea of messing with the pages. While Luffy can make imagination turn to reality, Imu can manipulate the foundation of the story itself, which can allow for all kinds of wacky instances of messing with the page format in their inevitable fight, such as using speech bubbles to stab Luffy (like Oda uses from time to time, as seen below) or disorienting Luffy with ink covering his line of sight, or the page becoming disoriented.
Great theory but I think he’s a mythic zoan with those same abilities rather than a paramecia with the rise of mythic zoans it’s only fitting the final antagonist has one.
nah, that's breaking the 4th wall too much
You can say that about any power Imu has. If its Uranus or another godly power entirely, you can always argue why not use it to do X or Y.
Same can be said for the Gorosei and Holy Knights, if theyre all top tiers why not just send them to dispatch the yonko? Either they have their reasons or Imu sees it as beneficial to maintain some level of chaos (to make the government able to maintain its status as the good guy), only using these superweapons when it goes too far, like Sabo seeing Imu or whatever happened at God Valley
Actually, this makes quite a perfect sense. Also if we take a look once more when Imu said "D."..., the speech bubble doesn't have an arrow. The arrow is thrown to Cobra.
Yeah its more like its coming out of the side of the panels, which are black in flashbacks. In the future it could work for speech bubbles
ever since seeing the weird shadow forms or the gorosei I can't get the thought out of my head that those aren't their powers but instead Imu's ability/fruit. it kind of feels like what Karisu and prince do with thier powers, the usage of different live forms y'know. I am not sure how this will all pan out but Imu's powers seem weird
Well i do agree with the notion of scribe scribe fruit and the massive implications it has on the story as a whole...now to pose it as an antagonizing power to luffys nika fruit which essentially turns imagination into reality while imu's fruit turns reality into imagination! Erasing the whole islands in the present for him as he lives through the years...quite literally masking their presence and so on
Luffys fruit "breaks through" the panels of the story with his ideas of freedom while imu's fruit quite literally "binds through" the panels of the story symbolising captivity
If Oda was using wordplay around Lilis name it would likely be through goroawase, Japanese number play
That said idk if or how that works for Lili, would be better to ask someone who knows Japanese
Oda writes in English sometimes. Like the very first chapter in one piece, and the “D” is written in English as well. So an English pun isn’t out of the question entirely
Considering this and the popular D = Dream theories, Imu could have some type of Nightmare fruit.
Hey guys, I was reading up on Real life pirate lore the other night and happened across Blackbeard’s real life flag.
I believe Imu and Blackbeard are somehow connected.
Has anyone noticed that Imu’s arrow could also be a devil's tail?
The real life Blackbeard’s Flag was a Devil like man holding a spear that looks a lot like imu’s arrow/tail. There is also a heart shape, this reminds me of when Blackbeard wanted Boa’s Mero Mero No Mi/ Love Love fruit. There are also three red dots in the flag which could resemble the theorised Blackbeard is Three people. Sorry if this is confusing. Forming sentences is not my strong suit. Let me know what you guys think and if you can make other connections. -Eskenel
the shadow in florian triangle now looks quite familiar after we've seen Imu's and Gorosei's void/nightmare forms
Not to mention that the Florian triangle monsters are based off Umi bozu in japanese mythology and Umi backwards is Imu
Hey guys I was reading this theory and thought to share it.
The most important out of all is the very thing the entire story is about. Many theories regarding the One Piece question what it may be and the meaning it has for the world. The World Government appears to be adamant to keep this out of reach for pirates, and this may very well be because the One Piece is the very thing that reveals the truth of the world and the 'Void Century'. Gol D. Roger's final words at his execution were that which explained the One Piece 'containing everything the world has to offer'.
This almost certifies that if the One Piece isn't just only information based on the past, it still definitely has information that will be useful to pirates' understanding of it. As One Piece has entered its final stage with more mysteries edging closer to their reveals at long last, fans should know that this will eventually be revealed juxtaposed with all of the other important details of its world
So the first page of 1085 contains the message on the left that explains why Imu refers to himself as "Mu" and there's explanation that Mu is written in a way to suggest it could be interpreted as "void" or "dream". I've looked it up and apparently there are two meanings to the word "Mu", one is [noun] nothing, nothingness, the other is [affix] dream [affix] illusion [affix] vision; that aligns with what the message on the page says. So I've dug a bit deeper about the "Mu" thingie, and the second meaning of dream-illusion-vision written as "Mu" is to be understood in its negative subtext, that is to say "nightmare" instead of dream, so I instantly thought that it could make sense, Imu and Gorosei are the nightmares taking over control over the world government like parasites, while D. could stand for Dream which would be the opposite of nightmare and could be interpreted as "ancient enemy" (as Imu put it) for nightmare. But then I stumbled upon some explanation of the first meaning of "Mu", the "void" or "nothing, nothingness" here it goes: The large central character on this sheet is mu or "nothingness," a key term in the philosophy of Zen Buddhism. This is understood as an alternative to dichotomies such as yes/no or positive/negative. This sounds to me like yes/no or positive/negative are two opposites like light and dark or yin and yang, and I instantly thought of luffy and blackbeard, while "nothingness" and "void" is nothing at all, a force that wants to erase both the good and the bad and that again reminds me of Imu and his ways of doing things in the form of "void century"/"erased century" or erasing entire islands not just from current existence but from ever existing at all ie. 908's "the light that needs to be extinguished from history, have you decided who it should be yet?".
so in essence luffy is light, blackbeard is darkness, and imu is void that wants to erase both the light and the darkness; let me know if I got something of substance here.
Or he could just be calling himself Mu because he didn't want anyone to make the connection between himself and the founding 20
whats this spoiler about zunesha?
See, what bothers me is that in One Piece, Oda has a fairly consistent with the relevance of the number 16
We know there are 9 holy knights, 5 Gorosei, and Imu. You add those numbers up and they are equal to 15, so I believe that there is one more character critical to the story on the side of the world government that we are missing. Perhaps either someone who sits above Imu that only Imu knows about, or perhaps someone below Imu but still above the Gorosei, or some form of enforcer.
The person that came to Imus room with the (posters?)
That's some great nuance
This gets insane, when you think about Kaidos depression and his 3 calamities, maybe someone valuable left him in his past that became Imus servant.
There are 4 calamities in the Bible: Death, Hunger(Jack the drought), War(King the wildfire), Plague(Queen the Plague) ... So where is death? In his introduction Kaido wants to commit suicide, but death will not come back to him again...
I think this just makes me think Kaido is death in this example ngl
We don’t know vivi is a D though, one detail people have missed us that Lili isn’t the direct ancestor of Vivi. She’s the descendant of her brother who we don’t know is a D considering it’s likely an adopted title.
Hey friends! Do we have any theories on the origin of Luffy/Roger's straw hat?
I think it could be more fitting for imu to represent a lack of dreams and blackbeard to represent nightmares, since mu means nothing/the void and blackbeard’s a funhouse mirror version of luffy
But then again imu and the gorosei’s powers were specifically described as hellish while blackbeard’s dreams aren’t so overtly evil, just his actions and execution
I just watched Joy Girl's vid and she honestly makes a great point. What if some of the Gorosei didn't eat Zoans themselves but it was their weapons? It makes sense considering they pulled guns but never used them. For all we know Saturn's cane could have transformed and he pulled the gun to use himself.
As for who's most likely to have Zoan weapons, I'd say Sanji's uncle and Merlin. Gandhi is a swordsman himself and has a humanoid shape, Gorbachev has his moustache in Zoan form and Saturn I just doubt. Let me know what y'all think
I think the letter D stands for Dawn and Joyboy was the one who created the clan of people who were against the idea of the 20 kingdoms forming the world gouverment.
Joyboy was the guy who was the previous helder of Luffys DF and Dawn also happens during the Sunrise -> Sun God Nika
"Raising the flags of Dawn" was also mentioned by Cobra who knew his kingdom was in danger if the world gouverment find Lily was also in the Clan of Dawn which explains Imu's reaction.
Imu is an Umi-bozu, it can't be a coincidence that imu spelt backwards is Umi, it's also can't be a coincidence that at the end of thriller bark the Umi-bozu in the middle is shaped like imu and has red eyes.
Imu is an Umi-bozu who can take human form, maybe the other 2 Umi-bozu's are creations of imu's power, maybe imu can make more shadow figures, maybe the 5 elders aren't even real people but imu's creations.
Umi-bozu also means sea priest and maybe just maybe the reason the sea sinks fruit users is because of imu. It has also been said that there is always a white fog around the Umi-bozu so you cant see it clearly and we have seen imu covered in white fog.
it also doesn't help the fact that Maryjoe and the fluorine triangle are almost near each other and each corner of the triangle has a marine based thing like empel down, enies lobby and the gate that leads to where imu is.
The corners of the florian triangle all have a government base
That is why I think Imu could be the umi-bozu in the flesh or have the mythical zoan umi-bozu fruit
Can someone actually confirm there’s any tie between Imu and Umi in Japanese ? I find the ties to the sea more doubtful now than ever since Imu calls himself Mu.
Very nice theory. If you see closely Imu’s arm, it seems like a bit weird. Some people theorize Imu’s arm looks a bit like the animal on the moon. Meaning it’s a non human entity or smth
This theory has probably been stated here, but I still want to put my two cents in. @modest skiff
So the theory I currently have is that Imu is the final ancient weapon, or has access to the final ancient weapon.
The three ancient weapons are named after Greco-Roman deities representing the earth, sea, and sky.
Pluton (Pluto) - ruler of the underworld. Pluton is canonically beneath Wano as of now.
Poseidon - ruler of the sea. The abilities of this ancient weapon have been canonically passed to Shirahoshi.
Uranus. The final ancient weapon that has not been given any sort of descriptor, personification, or characterization.
It is the ruler of the sky.
Chapter 1060. Imu wipes Lulusia kingdom off of the map. Clouds cover the sky above the island and lasers rain down from above.
I’m not sure about the radius of the ancient weapons, but, we know they’re weapons of mass destruction.
The reason that I believe that Imu themselves is the final weapon is simply because the three ancient weapons can consist of living beings, like Shirahoshi.
It’s also stated that the ancient weapons, if used, can be used to either rule, or destroy the world.
I think Imu could be an embodiment of Uranus, as Shirahoshi embodies Poseidon, and uses their power to, as we’ve seen, sit upon the empty throne, and secretly pull the strings of the world government.
My theory is that that the kuzuki clan are secret d members too since now we know people are just hiding it like cobra was doing I say this because of how oden died and because it was just said that vivis family are now d and I feel like it’s obvious joyboy would be a d member too, so I feel like it was the d clan that made all the ponegliffs and planed to spread them around the world after the ancient kingdom lost or connecting to that they messed up spreading them somehow and that’s why joyboy made that apology in fishmen island and that’s why there was a ponegliff in fishmen island because joy boy put one there and he couldn’t keep his promise because him and the others failed, and there’s one in wano because the kozuki clan but because everything failed they closed the borders and hid the d in there name and one on zuneshas back in zou and the zou one could make sense if my theory is correct that lily is zunesha and that’s why she needs to constantly walk as punishment since 800 years ago since either she failed her mission or because she betrayed the ancient kingdom full of d members as well since she was the queen of one of the 20 kingdoms but left that because reasons unknown but it’s still an unknown how big mom go her hands on one ponegliff probably has to do with something to do with the giants I’d assume that probably has the same relationship with the d clan as wano maybe lokis ancestor or considering how long giants live great grandpa is a d clan member and failed like the other three clan members.
Sorry if this sounds confusing it’s my first time writing a theory here I’ll gladly take suggestions to add on to the theory or saying if anything is wrong or debunks.
Quick question: do theories have to be related to the previous one? Cause I'm not sure if I should bring something up if it's out of nowhere, and interrupts the topic of discussion
Maxim Arc was an Uranus replica theory:
Back in Skypea, Enel was originally from Birka, a city that has huge ties to the ancient kingdom. In the Enel cover story we find out that the ruins in the moon are the city Birka and that it’s inhabitants used some kind of ship to travel to the OP planet, most likely landing in what was now known as (new) Birka in the White Sea. Enel not only destroyed the place, he stole plans for the arc Maxim and enslaved the Gods guard to build it, this is explicitly stated in the manga. If you check the interiors of the maxim arc, with what we know today, it’s pretty clear it’s ancient kingdom technology ( vats, gears and electric equipment). While Enel used his fruit to power it, it probably needed the ancient kingdoms eternal flame Vegapunk mentioned (unless it’s his fruit itself since we saw him powering an army of ancient kingdom robots with it), but used his fruit as a substitute. The maxim arc had enough destructive power to destroy a whole island by producing huge dense clouds that obliterated anything below with electricity. It’s not crazy to think it could be Uranus. Now remember Enel found plans for it. We know there were plans for Pluto, it would be exactly the same situation as water 7, only that in this case the heroes arrived after the plans were already stolen and used. Like in Pluto’s case, there would be countermeasure plans and the weapon itself somewhere, one of the two versions seems to be in Imus hands right now, who somehow controls it remotely. So, either the WG got maxims arc and that’s what deleted Lulusia or the WG has the original version and Enel has a copy. The huge shadow above lulusia is very consistent with the black cloud sphere maxim generated.
Somethjgn that caught my attention is the resemblance between Garp and Mihawk. Just take a closer look at their faces. the strong jawlines, intense gazes, and distinctive features. It's hard to deny that there's a striking similarity between the two. The resemblance leads me to believe that mihawk is garps long lost son. Now look at the genetic similarities between Garp and Mihawk. Look at
the traits they both have . They both have two ears and two eyes. While this might seem like a small detail, it has led me to believe that they ARE indeed father and son. As fellow one piecers, we know that the world is filled with ancient bloodlines. Garp was said to have fought on the same level as pirate king Roger. Roger couldn’t fully accomplish his goals cause he was too early for something. He was too early for garp. Garp I’m his old age finally expressed the traits of his ancient lineage that ties to the one piece. This makes Garp the one piece. Who is now old enough to finally become the one piece. He is the one piece because of his immense power showcases in the series, and his ties to the ancient race of one pieces and mihawk. Oda sensei has said one piece is over once we see the man with an eyepatch, but have we ever seen mihawk OR garps eyes? Nope. Garp is the one piece and the main with the eyepatch. Oda has tried to fool us with other ideas but Garp is the true one piece treasure.
"Don't Deal with Imu"
(One Piece theory regarding Imu)
"There is no power more ridiculous"
Words used to describe Joyboy and his abilities to become the most free fighter in the known world, what could possibly stand up to a Cartoon who is capable of basically anything he sets his mind to?
Oda loves Cartoons and thats no secret. One common character in early cartoons is the prescence of a Devil.
In old cartoons the Devil is portrayed as a figure which is able to shapeshift into different forms, but its true form is very cartoonishly evil, two horns and a devils tail ending in the shape of an arrowhead
An Imp, an almost cartoonishly evil character comes in all shapes and sizes, usually very mischievous, but despite this it carries a legitimate threat being able to turn into your worst nightmares, particularly made terrifying in old black and white childrens cartoons with images of hellflame, chains and contracts
In relation, in chapter 1085 some have discovered Imu has the mannerisms and speech of someone who is very old yet is very casual speaking, being the shadow hand of the world government.
And cobra met his end by an unidentified arrowhead piercing into him, and Imu is able to transform into a unseen form with a gaping jaw and sharp teeth which i believe is one of many.
If say Imu's true Devil fruit form is in the shape of a devil it would be the perfect foe (complete with toon power) for luffy and his cartoon powers to fight against, a being who is also comically powerful but capable of great evils and become a worthy opponent.
(Lets call it... Mythical Model: Sea Devil)
I wanna see how bec deals with this
I like this idea but wouldn't it be a massive contrast with the formality of the Gorosei, Sakazuki etc?
this is the best theory out there rn, ive never realized they have 2 eyes and 2 ears, good observation
Is there any theory on why Roger never fulfilled his dream, the one he shares with Luffy, despite him already become the King of Pirates?\
Oooh, you’re onto something. Or maybe he already did fulfill his dream offscreen?
He disbanded his crew as soon as they reached Laugh Tale, so unless the dream didn't involve his crew (which I pretty much doubt it), he hasn't accomplished it yet
I heard so many theories about a worldwide feast, but Roger didn't prepare for it. Even when we add an argument "the dream can't be accomplished because Imu is still around or whatnot", the only requirement both Roger and Luffy think to accomplish that dream was to be King of Pirates
Here is my theory-
Ae we know Luffy's true devil fruit is"Hito Hito no mi-Model Gun God
Nika"which is an ancient mythical zoan fruit.
Gorosei said that, "Fruit hasn't awakened for centuries"
The reason it hasn't awakened because No one eaten it for centuries. It was located on the Laughtale along with the One Piece.
When Roger disbanded it's crew you can see when he is walking away he has a bag which contained the devil fruit, and we know that Roger was executed after 1 year he became PK. So he ate the fruit in that interval.
We also know that the devil in the fruit and his will gets passed to the nearby fruit and to the next user the reason Luffy's word matches with Roger bcoz Roger's will passed on to the Luffy.
This bringing the AZ fruit in circulation to find next Joyboy.
Shanks was tasked to retrive the. fruit which he did by stealing it from CP9 agents.
The will of the fruit chose Luffy .
It makes 0 sense for Roger to eat the fruit only to put it back into circulation again
Nefertari D. Lily might actually be Zunesha in the One Piece series. Zunesha is said to have betrayed JoyBoy in the past and was cursed to wander as a result. In this theory, it's suggested that Lily's curse originated from 800 years ago when she betrayed Imu-Sama, one of the kings who sought to advance the Old Kingdom.
Lily apparently realized that the experiments being conducted by the Old Kingdom were harmful to the world, so she turned against them. This theory proposes that the Ancient Kingdom and the D. family, including Lily, ended up forming an alliance with what eventually became the World Government, opposing the Ancient Kingdom.
Imu-Sama, one of the kings, needed Lily for their plans and wanted to prevent the spread of the Poneglyphs, which contain the history that the rest of the world wanted to erase. The theory suggests that JoyBoy, who was aware that the Ancient Kingdom couldn't withstand the alliance of other kingdoms, asked the ancient descendants of Wano to create the Poneglyphs.
JoyBoy apparently managed to communicate with Lily, who regretted her association with Imu-Sama. She made a promise to sacrifice herself to preserve the ancestral weapons and spread knowledge to the world. JoyBoy also requested that the ancestral weapons continue to be shared even after his death, and that his will be inherited to eventually defeat Imu and the kings.
but zunesha is said to be from a specific elephant tribe, so there are multiple of them, there fore this is super unlikely
race* not tribe
yeah now that i re read it this is some chat gpt bs
okay and how did roger know it was that fruit, how did he know itd bring it back in circulation, how did he even get it after hundreds of years of it not being in this "circulation"
Really what chapter was that?
its not part of a chapter, its some sbs
@compact glade
He may have learned the truth at Laughtale and what he and his crew have to do like Roger Pirates are stationed where SHs needed most. Basically they are paving a path for Joyboy.
He kind of sacrificed himself like he was going to die anyways.
Roger was a pseudo joyboy I think.
I heard a theory, that lily is zunesha, and imu turned her into elephant, and spreading the poneglyph was the crime zunesha committed and also thats why it has a road poneglyph on its back
why do people think the tail is from IM. It clearly came from cobra's side. so it's one of the gorosei's
Someone talked about the first SPEACIAL episode of one piece, in that episode the crew discover a city in the bottom of the sea (hints to laughtale) and that has monsters that protect a treasure and this treasure is called by these monsters "The treasure that fulfills wishes" and this treasure is discovered by pirate called "captain joke".
what does joke+treasure mean?
Laughtale
We know that Devil fruits are people's desires and wishes
In this episode there is a kid that wishes to have the power to kill captain joke because before captain joke finds the treasure he ruined the isalnd where that kid lives
ask yourself, does the one piece treasure has the ability to fulfil people desires and wishes as Devil Fruits?
because its not logical to have a fruit with magical powers unless they are imaginations that people desired
she\he might have he ability to grow her\his power from a distance
Zunesha has always existed as elephant long before the Void Century and the Minks has always been on his back
Hey guys so i have this theory, i dont know if someone else has mentioned this but basically i believe imu has a devil fruit that takes over people like a genjutsu and makes them see their biggest fears. Thats why the gorosei appeared as shadowy beasts after cobra was struck with the arrow. Also the fruit took over imu and thats why it calles its host "mu" and mu in japanese means nothing. We know as a fact that fruits have personalities and this one took over their host showing imu as a shadow as their appearance is not important, whats important is whats in side and thats the fruit. Also it would make sense that the final boss would be a rogue fruit that tries to take over the world and the Ds are the ones that created the fruits probably thats why they are mortal enemies. Would love to hear your thoughts!
To be fair people were mixed on Joyboy's cartoon powers so i cant say its perfect but its pretty damn cool if it happens.
Oda mixes themes well.
I agree it supports this theory I have too My theory is that that the kuzuki clan are secret d members too since now we know people are just hiding it like cobra was doing I say this because of how oden died and because it was just said that vivis family are now d and I feel like it’s obvious joyboy would be a d member too, so I feel like it was the d clan that made all the ponegliffs and planed to spread them around the world after the ancient kingdom lost or connecting to that they messed up spreading them somehow and that’s why joyboy made that apology in fishmen island and that’s why there was a ponegliff in fishmen island because joy boy put one there and he couldn’t keep his promise because him and the others failed, and there’s one in wano because the kozuki clan but because everything failed they closed the borders and hid the d in there name and one on zuneshas back in zou and the zou one could make sense if my theory is correct that lily is zunesha and that’s why she needs to constantly walk as punishment since 800 years ago since either she failed her mission or because she betrayed the ancient kingdom full of d members as well since she was the queen of one of the 20 kingdoms but left that because reasons unknown but it’s still an unknown how big mom go her hands on one ponegliff probably has to do with something to do with the giants I’d assume that probably has the same relationship with the d clan as wano maybe lokis ancestor or considering how long giants live great grandpa is a d clan member and failed like the other three clan members.
the implied reason is that his chronic illness left him too little time to live and make use of what he attained at Laugh Tale
basically he turned himself in in order to make that declaration on the execution platform, to spur other people to set out at sea hoping one among them will be able to fulfill it in his place
Well that reason is obvious, the curious part is that Roger already knew he pretty much had no time left right before reaching Laugh Tale, that's pretty much the reason he rushed his last journey to find the poneglyphs. So his disease should've changed nothing, but somehow it did
it changed that he was not the "guy of the prophecy", because he could never live long enough to exist when the carrier of the will of D was going to be needed
which is also the reason he fathered Ace before going to die, because he expected his own son to do it in his place
That's assuming that his dream has anything to do with prophecy, I thought we're talking about the same dream that kid Luffy conjured up too?
I think it's relevant in that by personality he was the right kind of guy but unfortunately existed in the wrong period of time
I mean what kind of dream that sounds childish, can only be accomplished by being the best pirate in the world, has nothing to do with prophecy but somehow it did when one's reaching Laugh Tale? Curious isn't it
becoming an astronaut
in all seriousness is a sort of test of character, because the fated person is not expected to have some specific bloodline or DF power, but is expected to have a specific mindset
Yeah, I think it's almost for sure that some part of the Gorosei, Celestial Dragons, Imu faction are aliens. My reasoning is that, in the Esteban Child of the Sun connections to One Piece, the end villains are aliens. The Child of the Sun connections are the most predictive and parallel to One Piece among all the connections I've seen, and they connect the general story structure, which again gives more credence because it's not relying on highly variable connections like using historical allusions. A large part of the One Piece story frame ties in with Child of the Sun. Another line of evidence towards them being aliens is the presence of other aliens, i.e. Enel's stories on the moon. And then lastly there's the whole celestial body motif that is central all throughout One Piece
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/pqa53e/the_mysterious_cities_of_gold_an_inspiration_to/ and https://screenrant.com/one-piece-five-elder-planets-gorosei-aliens-theory-imu/ for anybody who wants to read
Now, I'm not saying the weird forms in the latest chapter are due to them being aliens, though. Although, I think it'd be a mild and kind of cliche reveal if that was the case.
uranus is luffy, specifically his power to “make anyone he comes across his ally” as mihawk said at marineford. this is an capable of mass destruction as he can gather army big enough to destroy countries or even the whole world goverment. i believe this was the weapon joyboy had that he used to try take down the world goverment 800 yrs ago but he failed.
Even though people with the name “D” don’t know the meaning of their name, we’ve seen multiple times in the story that people with D initial are very ambitious. Rocks attack the Celestial dragon to achieve his goal of becoming king of the world, Roger finding the last island by collecting the poneglyghs, Teach betraying his own crew because he want to be the pirate king and Luffy who has two dreams: one that is unknown at the moment and wanting to become the pirate king after inheriting Shanks straw hat.
I think that the God knights, who are like the police for the celestial dragons’ wasn’t form after the God Valley incident. The faction was only created in order to fight the next Rocks ( I think Luffy fits this role because sooner or later he’s going to rebel against the government after hearing what happened to Cobra) just like how the warlords were created to maintain the balance of the world, incase the One of the four emperors start a war against the world government or Navy.
(Theory, is came up with while talking with someone in chat)
Doflamingo and corazon might reflect shanks story with how he was found in a chest and law survived in a chest this is driven home if a holy knight is related to shanks . Perhaps a brother or uncle.
Theory: The full Japanese name for the "D" initial in One Piece could be "Densetsu no Tsunagari" (伝説のつながり), which translates to "Legendary Connection" in English.
Explanation:
"Densetsu" (伝説) means "legend" or "myth" in Japanese. This term reflects the mysterious and significant nature associated with the "D" initial throughout the series.
"no" (の) is a possessive particle in Japanese, indicating that the subsequent word is connected to or possesses the quality of what precedes it.
"Tsunagari" (つながり) means "connection" or "link" in Japanese. It signifies the bond or relationship shared among individuals with the "D" initial, connecting them through their shared lineage and will.
This hypothetical full name, "Densetsu no Tsunagari," would convey the idea that those bearing the "D" initial are linked by a legendary connection, signifying their shared heritage, will, and significance in the world of One Piece.
maybe the one piece is the proof that all are "D"s
if luffy's awakened power is to turn himself and anything he touches into a cartoon, then it would make sense for imu's ink ink awakened power to fill in any object or person in a panel, or even entire panel, with dark ink, and create any form or shape inside a panel out of ink, including nightmarish shadow-like creatures or fast moving certain-kill arrows, and therefore I submit to you that buggy's ultimate awakening will be to split not just anything he looks at in op world, but also the manga panels themselves in a way to hinder imu's ink powers and make luffy's cartoon nika powers even more hilarious, and thus giving him a tactical advantage in the ultimate fight
A ink fruit would be terrible for a strong person to have
When Oda said the one piece will come close to an ending when a person with an eyepatch comes around well if you don’t know Oda is getting an eye surgery so he might pull up with an eyepatch
did ayone read the latest message from Oda sensei about his eye surgery, one of the lines he said "I have been currently thinking stuff like (There are a lot of people with twins these days)" Could this validate the shanks twin theory where the guy meeting the gorosei is shanks's twin?
yeah thats what i think as well, a hidden message
Luffy has already awakaned his DF.
You can always post any theory at any time, unless someone is posting a really long theory that takes many messages to send. But this channel is not intended to be a continuous conversation like some other channels. We have an extra long slow mode to discourage casual conversation.
The main intention of this channel is for big ole thicc theories like the ones in the pins. If people aren't actively posting a theory, feel free to always post. But please keep in mind we try to have this channel purely used for long theories and we moderate this channel heavily
He has tho
The Nomi Nomi no Mi it lets him get infinite amt of info or so it was said
And didn't his foreheads size enlarge because of it too? Ig yes
I have to say no because he's a D. He could have keeped it a secret but Garp was pretty open about it but I don't think they would have a D. So openily in holy land
Depends on imu’s stance and also garp was supposed to be fleet admiral but declined so they would’ve had a d running the government. I think it’s more targeted toward Pirates? Who knows
what's up with Crocus's, Hiruruk's, Clover's and Garling's hairstyles? any theories around that?
perhaps only those who follow the will of D... You can own the name but it doesnt necessairly mean that you act like a ''D'' ( like do what the will is about )
i mean it doesnt have to mean anything, just design choice by Oda for the characters, not everything has to mean something
I think the weapon "mother flame" may be a type of variation from 'Project Thor', a project of kinetic bombardment that materialised in the 1950's around the time of the vietnamese war: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinetic_bombardment
I dont think this is too much of a reach seeing as how the void century was more technologically advanced then the current time in one piece, with holograms and more, which we havent made yet irl, and a concept that was almost made is definetly possible in the one piece world.
I dont really have any proof that its real im just thinking that seeing as how Oda likes to include and reference real world things/scenarios/problems it may have a chance of being real. Thoughts?
I don't know why you would pull a random historical allusion when you should go with what's likely. Occam's razor is a useful heuristic here. It's most likely nuclear fission --- at least something related to the ancient energy source Vegapunk was talking about. Considering the sun = nuclear fusion, I would be a lot more fine referring to the power source as nuclear. And it makes sense --- nuclear power (and generally power generated by stars, which isn't just limited to nuclear of course, but has that connection to the celestial motif of One Piece) is the most powerful and well known sources of energy in the real world's universe.
I feel like the best overall versal theory for One Piece is that it's a post-apocalyptic world that once had nuclear energy. The Ancient Kingdom's fuel source was nuclear energy, and the insane technology that only some people have in One Piece hints at that pre-apoc world as being a techno-utopia. The 20 Kingdoms faction has alien origins (this is due to One Piece's rather close following to major plot points of the Child of Esteban) and battled with the precursors of the D's over control of the planet. Imu has some kind of terraforming ability, considering the unnatural existence of the multiple Lines and the Gorosei's reference to them as "founder", and is now basically confirmed in terms of storytelling to have had the immortality surgery.
oda getting eye surgery = oda with eye patch
and we all know what that means
why else would he wait a year
before getting the surgery
because he didnt wanna take 2 4/5 week long breaks in the same year
Also, this is a good theory, that D is a code word for uprising against the World Govt.
oda with eye patch though 🤤
Yeah it makes sense even more now from 1085 || when imu said the moniker of their enemy is D. But that means Imu knows what it means which is weird||
Have people already speculated on Imu having gotten the immortality surgery that seems like an obvious connection to me
Yes.
New Theory,
Zoro isn't in the cover art for the latest chapter cause he's dead. Oda is hinting at his death
God Valley Theory:
Rocks go to God Valley to rob the island like they do back in the days.
Garp and Roger fought Rocks and with the help of saint Garling they beat Rocks pirates, later Garling make the 9 holy knights. But when Roger escape he took the tressure chest where was Shanks - one of the twins of saint Garling.
P.S 1 And Garp didn’t talk about it because saint Garling save his ass
P.S 2 Maybe saint Garling promised tressure to Roger if he help him, but didn’t knew Shanks will jump in the tressure chest
Imu is the shadow of luffy.
That is like a "Pink Diamond = Rose Quarz" story.
I really had this idea too.
bro we are so cooked
That wouldn't do well with the audience out of Japan and is way too long to be a feasible name. Imagine "Monkey 伝説の繋がり Luffy", it's just not a name. It makes more sense to be a thematic name like Dawn or Dream or whatever other theories people throw around.
People right now seem to assume that Vegapunk created the weapon that destroyed Lulusia, but I don’t think that’s the case. I think the weapon we see in the sky is still the Ancient Weapon Uranus and that Vegapunk only created a fuel source to momentarily power it.
Imu calls the invention the “Mother Flame” we know that the ancient fuel source of the ancient kingdom was some type of flame. Based on their dialogue we can note that whatever Vegapunk created has a time-limit, as well as a limit for how far it can go (most likely before it runs out of fuel).
I think Vegapunk has already created the Ancient Fuel Source, but like Momo’s Clone Fruit he considers it a failure because it isn’t eternal like that of the Ancient Kingdom’s. The Mother Flame could be a one use thing and you have to load it over and over again after use of the Ancient Weapon.
I think your totally on the nose but I think it's a copy of pluton and not Uranus. We know for sure pluton can be built and that they wanted the blue prints presumably to figure out the power source of the weapon. I personally think with the reveal of the elders names that each of them are actually the corresponding weapons, seeing how the only missing planets are the weapons we know about. And pluton being man mad and not actually considered a planet ?
I doubt it's pluton just because of the name, even if it wasn't a conventional ship it shouldn't be an airship because that's basically Uranus's deal
^
It's probably some sort of all terrain thing
I don't understand where that connection is made tho?
What connection?
That Uranus would be flying and all that ?
Uranus is the personification of the sky in greek mythology?
Uranus was the god of the sky, nuff said
Edit: stupid cooldown
Idk shirhoshi power doesn't mimic Poseidon like that Play exactly what happen to illisia is the description of pluton power
We should move this convo to #manga-serious but Poseidon was also the god of the ocean
Wasn't Poseidon mainly the sea god
What’s the difference?

Theory:
Poseidon was meant to procure food, sea kings are big and cannonically edible. Places that aren't good for farming like alabasta could've used something like that.
Pluton was an exploration vessel that became a warship in the void century.
Uranus was a fuel source for all of the mechs that did the bulk of manual labor. What the wg has now is a knockoff that they've repurchased as a big brother canon
The Eisei Eisei no Mi is a cannon fruit ? i notice being mention in google and one peice wiki but i dont see any info of who is or were the holder of the fruit or where it was mention. it also grants immortality as it can use the immune system as it likes.
Not possible, devil fruit names only have two syllables. Also it's just fan made
Theory: Shanks is a Figarland, but us actually the son of... Saint Figarland Roswald. Yes, Shanks is the brother of Charlos. Their family name hasn't been revealed yet, has it? Also, Roswald has a hair color that bears a resemblance to the moon, just like the crescent shaped hair that his brother Garling has. It would also explain why Mjosgard received the death penalty for attacking the nephew of Garling.
Oda used the Iron Giant as a metaphor for Uranus:
•Vegapunk created the Mother Flame
•Vegapunks dream is a world where energy is free to all aka the Mother Flame
•Mother flame is the new version of the Eternal Flame form 800 years ago
•You need the eternal flame to power the Iron Giant (confirmed) and need it for Uranus
•Dragon is right Vegapunk DIDN’T create the weapon that destroyed Lulusia but he did create the Mother Flame aka the power to operate Uranus.
•Uranus hasn’t been used because the Mother flame wasn’t ready
But I'm not going to lie dragon would be bad ass if he were
Theory: The entire God Valley incident was told to us wrong (or we were mislead). It wasn't actually Roger Pirates and Garp vs Rocks Pirates but instead Roger, Garp, and Rocks vs The Holy Knights and Rocks died fighting them (and Garp was credited with killing him).
I agree with this, Vegapunk didn't create the weapon. He created something that enabled the WG to use Uranus.
I think St.Figarland is actually related to Franky
Hair Piece- Franky rocks the crazy hairs but we have yet to see him rock a moon shaped hair style even though the Franky House has a moon on it.
Franky was abandoned by his so called parents cuz he was annoying but what if they weren’t his real parents and actually was another baby stolen from God Valley during the incident
His age lines up nicely being close to Shanks age
His real name is Cutty Flam - Flam - Flan - F…lan. - Figarland
Or it’ll be a Hair Battle and he is Frankys final matchup
Franky isn’t old enough for that to be true
He’s 36 and god valley was 38 years ago there are some interesting connections however
Does anyone think that Saint garling figarland is the guy we saw in the center of silhouettes when dragon mentioned the gods nights in 1083? The silhouettes didn’t show the same moon shaped hair as we saw in 1086 but Saint garling has the same style cloak and sword as seen in the silhouette
what if it fuels pluton

@thorny siren For short "what if" scenarios, please use the other manga channels, as this channel is intended for extra beefy theories like the ones in the pins. sorry im new to this server
No worries at all, just helping people navigate our channels
Took out the "What ifs" so it follows the rules now 😉
:p
I agree with this 100% and I have said the same thing before. Not saying you stole my idea or anything, just conveying the level to which I agree. However, this is more of a topic for another channel, so if you'd like to continue this conversation, please continue it in #manga-serious or #also-manga
I sort of agree with this but see it more of being vegapunk style “failed” version of Uranus how Momos fruit is a “failed” version of Kaidos
If it was in fact Uranus and all Vegapunk did was provide the fuel - why call it Mother Flame and not Uranus?
It’s not like they don’t know the name or they are trying to be extra secretive about it like it’s a taboo (talking about Nuking a nation)
I could see Vegapunk studying it and creating his version of it for the pure sake of science (like he did with the giant robot he just couldn’t figure out but has tons of replicas of) and the WG taking it
Luluscias test of the weapon wasn’t to signal Dragon or other rebellious groups as much as to signal to Vegapunk - thanks for the gift we now have no use for you which is why he predicted he was gonna die soon - the heavens foretold it
Imu is possesed
The Deep Relationship of World Government and Ancient Kingdom with Roman and Greek Mythologies respectively
The Gorosei have been revealed as being named** St. Shepherd Ju Peter (Jupiter), St. Ethan Baron V. Nusjuro (Venus), St. Topman Valkyrie (Mercury), St. Markus Mars (Mars) and St. Jay Garcia Saturn (Saturn) and have been given the moniker “Warrior God”. They are effectively named after the Gods of Roman mythology**. Since they are called “The Five Elder Planets/Satellites/Stars'' it's easy to think that they are simply named after the planets of our world - who were named after the Roman Gods - but I think their naming sequence carries a deeper meaning all the way to the relationship of Greco-Roman Mythology.
*Greco-Roman Mythology? But those are all Roman Gods! What do you mean by that Ketu? *
Well, there are three things in One Piece that are named after the Gods of** Greek Mythology**. They are: Poseidon, Uranus and Pluton. The Ancient Weapons being affiliated with The Ancient Kingdom. As a sidebar, I have been a long, firm believer in the idea that the Ancient Kingdoms so called “Ancient Weapons” were not actually weapons, but that is a theory for another time.
The Ancient Weapons Greek God equivalents short descriptions goes as follows:
Poseidon: Greek god of the sea, storms, and earthquakes. Ruler of the oceans, wielding his trident and known for his unpredictable nature.
Uranus: Primordial Greek god of the sky and father of the Titans. Symbolising the heavens, he played a pivotal role in the creation of the cosmos.
Pluton (also called Hades): Greek god of the Underworld and ruler of the dead. Mysterious and feared, he presided over the realm of souls and guarded its secrets.
There have been misconceptions here that Uranus and Poseidon are of Roman origin but they are not. It is true that the Roman and Greek mythologies are deeply intertwined to our modern optics but we have to recognize that Greek mythology is where it all started and the Roman empire absorbed it as its own. The acquisition of Greek mythology by the Romans can be attributed to a combination of cultural exchange, conquest, and admiration for Greek civilization. The process of acquiring Greek mythology involved not only the adoption of Greek deities but also the integration of their stories into the Roman narrative. The Romans identified parallels between their own Gods and the Greek pantheon, often equating them based on similar attributes or domains. This syncretism allowed for a smooth transition, with Jupiter assuming the qualities of Zeus, Mercury taking on aspects of Hermes, Venus from Aphrodite and so on.
Pictured is Poseidon (Greek) and Neptune (Roman), guess who is who!
But for example Uranus was not directly adopted into Roman mythology, as the Romans did not have an equivalent god representing the primordial sky. I confess that Pluton is an outlier here since the name exists in both mythologies. The Romans associated him with their own god of the Underworld, Dis Pater or simply "Pluto." Dis Pater, meaning "Rich Father," who was an amalgamation of multiple Roman and Etruscan influences, as the Romans often blended different cultural elements into their mythology.
In the real world, the Romans' emulation of Greek culture showcased their admiration for Greek achievements. However, despite their efforts, the Romans were never able to fully replicate the intellectual and artistic heights of their Greek predecessors. Similarly, the World Government's affiliation with Roman Gods represents its desire to embody the authority and grandeur of the Ancient Kingdom.
The blatant connection between the World Government's adoption of Roman Gods and the Ancient Kingdom's association with Greek Gods reveals an interesting contrast in World Governments attempts to emulate the past. While the World Government seeks to replicate the power and authority of the Ancient Kingdom, it ultimately falls short in capturing its essence and achieving the greatness it aspires to.
One key aspect is the moral decline and corruption within the World Government. While the Ancient Kingdom has been portrayed as a highly advanced, futuristic and probably a civilised society with fully-automated labour, the World Government is depicted as a flawed institution plagued by secrecy, manipulation, abuse of power and depending on slavery as a cheap way to handle physical labour. This stark contrast suggests that the World Government's attempts to mirror the greatness of the Ancient Kingdom are superficial and lack the genuine virtue and integrity that characterised the latter. The slave-operated escalators in Mary Geoise and the automated ones in Egghead are probably the best single example of that.
In summary, the correlation between the World Government's use of Roman gods and the Ancient Kingdom's association with Greek Gods is an insightful parallel to the historical phenomenon of the Romans copying from the Greeks. It highlights the World Government's aspiration to be like the revered Ancient Kingdom, just as the Romans emulated Greek civilization in their pursuit of greatness. And just as the Romans, the World Government will inevitably fail.
@modest skiff
What else does AK-Greek connection have beside Poseidon and how do you factor King Neptune into this theory?
Pluton and Uranus
Never trust silhouettes in one piece is something we learned
My bad, for some reason I thought both are Romans. Yea, they're greek too
Mihawk is possesed by his sword but its a friendly possesion where Mihawk has the control as the sword accepted him as his master and deems him worthy. Cavendish and his sword Durandal personalities dont match or he just needs a good talk like naruto and ninetails. But its only because he has mastered the art of rapiers and has trained since a young age as a prince thats why he is being possessed by his sword as the sword deems him worthy. Why i think he is being possessed by his sword is beacuse of the words of the legendary swordsmith Shimutsuiki Kozaburo. Swords exist to cut people down. when smith make them they make sure they take as many lives possible. Each blade is like a person with a unique disposition. And Cavendish "ego" just wants to kill. Kozaburo also says a swordsman is one who tames the swords wild nature and bends it to their will. This is something Mihawk has done. Cavendish needs to do. And for Zorro to even occur. I think Enma will possess zorro. I think this is used on demand and Mihawk just prefers to stay like that beacause of training. And that brings me to imu being possessed by something or someone. Maybe the information about ope ope no mi is misleading and while the users body dies he gets the control of the body the feat is performed on.
Is this even a theory it has to be a fact
I'm sorry?
You put this info in manga theories

Read the chapter if you haven't before you continue!
I am proposing that imu intercepted the call, eighter himself or through some middle man, coming from lulusia and destroy the Island thinking that Sabo was on there. That's because Sabo obfuscated where the call is from. Now why would Oda introduce a plot contrivance like annihilating an island that is coincidentally where the most wanted person is (Sabo)? There is little reason to attack Lelusia because there are a lot of other nations in rebellion and Lelusia also has a big population. The gorosei even object and told that Imu. It seems to be unusual and the gorosei object at first because of the high population. The reason that Imu gives is also very flimsy. The Island is just close and that is the reason?
Now, that might just be his childish nature and his need to test out his new toy. They did say that it has to be tested and I don't think that it is new but I think that it is the same thing that erased God valley from the map. Did it maybe fall into disrepair? Regardless I did go on a little tangent here... But who got introduced? The former king of God valley that presumably got destroyed by the same weapon? Coincidence?
I think I established that imu's resons are a bit suspect but I wanna elaborate on the den den mushi decoy. Sabo essentially used one phone to call an in between phone and that phone is than connected to the other one. It's like a cruder form of a proxy or a VPN without encryption. And the location of that decoy got destroyed... Combine that with emus behavior and the fact that imus behavior seems strange to the gorosei and that it is the perfect explanation as to why lulusia got destroyed and you have a solid case as to why emu might have destroyed lulusia.
Now why might imu lie to the gorosei? No idia... But we also know very little about imu. Apart from the fact that emu has acted against the advice of the gorosei twice. Once when he got on the throne with other people present and once now when he destroy lulusia. There might be some misaligned interest or conflict there.
How imu did it is quite easy. The gods knights exist which probably report directly to him and there could be others who know about imu. He could have an intelligence guy who directly reports to him. Imu could also have a devil fruit like the den den mushi no mi or some innate ability related to his race. It's not really necessary that he has some crazy ability though. It's probably just the ultimate boss of all the Cipherpols. But you can't deny that a Bere bere no mi (den den mushi no mi) would be cool and very oda. He could still be from some ancient race.
The main part of my theory is that imu destroy lulusia because of Sabo though the stuff with the den den muchi no mi really has no proof. What do you think about my theory? Plausibel?
(sorry for errors it's not my first language.)
Calling this one...
"Fishmen: the Original Masters of Haki"
As Devil Fruits ran rampant around the world... its interesting to note that Jinbei and his water techniques as well as fishman Culture share a lot with the concept of Haki.
Flowing water and energy or Fishman Karate allows you to hurt your opponent without touching them.. seethrough coating that can be used to hurt devil fruit users.
and then there's Madam Sharley's future seeing ability which could be derived into the Observation Haki.
Lets say the Fishmen Discovered Haki to combat the Devil Fruits, hence... The enemy of the sea..
Some fishmen decided to share their knowledge with other races and now we have Haki?
I have no idea what possibly could be the inspiration for Conquerors Haki though.
If you have any ideas about conquerors possibly being linked to fishman culture i'd love to hear it
I wonder since they have Seraphim of all the OG Warlords do you think they might have an S Hippo? If they have DNA of all the Warlords and made the Seraphime out of it could they have Blackbeard's? An S Hippo would be pretty op
Not sure; no guarantee they were able to obtain his DNA in the extremely short period of time he was a warlord
Oh i did forget he was a Warlord for a VERY short time. He was litteraly there for like a week and the betrayed em lol
with film red showcasing shanks as a figarland (not canon but probably important) and a figarland being former king of god valley and current commander of the god's knights, this has a bit more credence
bro it was a compliment 💀
My understanding is that the attack on Lulusia was done before Sabo reached there, it was done while Sabo was recuperating on the ship.
All these romans / greek name might have a link with the Ancient Kingdom having a name similare to Atlantis.
Coincidence ?
Plato said Atlantis existed about 9,000 years before his own time, and that its story had been passed down by poets, priests, and others. Atlantis, a fabulously wealthy and advanced civilization, was swept into the sea and lost forever in a story which has captured the imagination of readers ever since.
Oda said that the AK existed 900 years before current event.
cavendish did transform into hakuba when he was not in contact with his sword , and regarding swords in one piece treat them as zanpakuto , one needs to stop going against their sword and accept it and possess a strong will in order to wield it effectively.
I noticed something about Imu's name. The first part Nero could refer to the Roman emperor, black in Italian or a form of the verb "sleep" in japanese. If you look at the name as one phrase, you can break it apart into Nero (as above), nai (the lack of, without) and Mu (void/dream). Put together, it can mean a void that isn't black or a sleepless void/dream. Not a theory but could be the basis of one.
It could also mean an emperor (above, as in above the people or above the CDs) without dreams.
I have a theory that the D stands for “dreams” or “dreamers,” queue Blackbeard yelling “PEOPLES DREAMS NEVER END!”
The world of one piece is filled with sentient life; even more populous than our earth, with all its fantastical species. From egghead, we have been told that the soul has a physical weight to it, and that devil fruits are the manifestation of peoples hopes and desires. Is that really all there is to it?
We know slaves for hundreds of years dreamed of nika, at least the prisoners in impel down for years according to who’s who. Yet somehow, the fruit only came into existence right around the passing of roger.
Maybe that’s just coincidence, and that’s just how long it look the nika fruit to grow, maybe it takes a long time for fruits to come back into the world. Well, we know of one fruit that came back into the world very quickly; the mera mera no mi, aces fruit. Ace died protecting Luffy, which was his will. Now the fruit is back in play, in the hands of none other than sabo, another individual who would die protecting Luffy. Another coincidence?
I think the D family is responsible for manifesting the devil fruits, or at least manifest them at a much higher rate than others. If one piece is a world with billions and billions of people who dream, how are there so few devil fruits? You would think there would be many more. But there are relatively few Ds out there. We know there are very odd devil fruits that wouldn’t people normally wouldn’t dream about (like the mochi mochi fruit), so I don’t think it’s just X amount of peoples combined dreams make them reality.
We do know of another fruit that respawned quickly though, the axolotl fruit hsed by Smiley
Ah darn
Ancient Kingdom was for the D. In Japanese version, Garling is not mentioned that he was former king of God Valley. But mentioned He fought as a Champion of God Valley Incident. That indicates he was the most savage man
ゴッドバレーという土地で活躍した王者 which translates to a champion who was active in the land called god valley which he might’ve joined them for some reason
The Gorosei were after the GOMU GOMU no mi for several years I believe for 800 years and everytime they were close to getting it, it just “ran” away
Several Era’s
why gorosei name are so modern? does that mean that 800 years ago the whole one piece world was very highly advanced(knowing lore dump we got in egghead island aswell as that they are from the void century)
[God's Valley to Egghead theory]
This is a condensed version of what I think all the lore revealed so far was leading up to, and how it all ties up together:
-
38 years ago, Uranus, the same weapon that destroyed Lulusia, was activated in God's Valley for unknown reason, destroying the island. It ran out of energy and has since in Gorosei's custody.
-
Kuma was a slave in God's Valley. At the time of Rocks incident, he was 9 years old. After the incident, he escaped to South Blue into Sorbet Kingdom. He was a former royalty, and that allows him to take control of Sorbet Kingdom.
-
Roger was in God's Valley in search for poneglyph after he reached Lodestar a year prior. Rocks was there because he sought after the Ancient Weapon and that's the taboo that he broke, mentioned by Sengoku. The Marines was there to protect Celestials
-
To save his son, Figarland Garling put baby Shanks into treasure chest, which will later be in Roger's custody. For some reason, the Figarland family has a feat in God's Valley that put them in top ranking of God's Knight
-
The Uranus incident was the reason Kaido sought another Ancient Weapon, Pluton, that resides in Wano, and why he was confident that the weapons can brought the world to its knees
-
Uranus can't be activated without a special energy source, and so Gorosei ordered Vegapunk to research another energy source without telling him what they gonna use it on
-
22 years ago, WG put a buster call on Ohara. Vegapunk learned about the Void Century. Dragon and Iva, in turn, organized revolution activities hosted by Kuma. Kuma stepped down as king. Later WG spin this so Kuma was labeled as tyrant overthrown by his own people.
-
The real reason why Kuma was chased: he was a former Celestial slave from God's Valley. WG captured Kuma and Dragon asked Vegapunk's favor to take Kuma into Egghead.
-
Vegapunk, who get stuck on the mission Gorosei gave him, broke the taboo and researched the Void Century with the ancient robot for an answer. His new energy source, dubbed the Mother Flame, is completed only recently. He didn't tell the Gorosei how he achieved it
-
3 months ago, York revealed to Gorosei that Vegapunk is researching the Void Century. This prompts Imu and Gorosei to speed up their test on Mother Flame. After multiple failed attempt on communicating with Vegapunk via Cipher Pol, they decided to test Uranus on Lulusia
-
After Lulusia was successfully destroyed, the Gorosei decided that they no longer need Vegapunk and they move to destroy Egghead. They also want to bury Void Century research for good
THEORY ON THE MOTHER FLAME
First of i am sorry for all language errors i am no native speaker and quite far from it 🙂 Second i was just about to write something similar to what the person before me wrote and think its very plausible i wont repeat it here so maybe check it out since i will build up on it a bit. He has some points i didnt consider but i researched some stuff i thought is connected to it aswell and now wonder if we can connect it to his theory aswell. The 5 Elders and the 3 Ancient Weapons all have a connection to Greek/Roman mythology and also our solar system. If you just look at our 9 Planets of the solar system, we have 8 of them already in the story with the 5 Elders standing for Venus Mars Mercury Jupiter and Saturn and the 3 ancient weapons being Pluto Uranus and Neptun which is the Roman name for the greek name Poseidon. So there is 1 of the 9 Planets missing and that would be our earth. I strongly believe that we will eventually get introduced to something representing the Last Planet in our solar system our earth and that it will be the "Mother Flame" which is the Energy source Vegapunk was searching for. In ancient greek Mythology Gaia stand for the Earth and is Mother of Life also she is the direct mother of Uranus. Since Gaia is the personification of our Earth and and mother to Uranus but also seen as the mother of life i strongly believe that the so called "mother flame" is the last representative of our solar system and stands for our Planet earth and therefore can bring life/power to Uranus but also give power to all people as Vegapunk dreamt.
If you go further with this solar system metaphor we have Luffy as the Sun. So we would expect Imu to be something aswell in the Solar system. So whats left? Right the Void. I read multiple theorys on Imu being the Void or connected to it here before and it would just fit in great all together. Thanks for reading 🙂
ya imu is the void , ruled the last last 900 yrs .The Void Century is a century-long gap in recorded and archaeological history, the study of which is forbidden by the World Government . so since he/she ruled the world for all that time , named as void centurya
why leave a 100 years gap for others to theorize about instead of filling it in with fake favorable-to-yourself history? why let the world know that the world gov was founded right after the war 800 years ago instead of altering the history to better fit it to your narration? why resume calling yourself imu and thus provoke theories on who you might be? why allow so many lose ends and d's and incidents to happen and keep happening for 800 years? couldn't take or locate one singular poneglyph for 800 years? couldn't locate the nika fruit for 800 years? couldn't prevent any unfavorable event from occuring in the past 45 years incl. what luffy, dragon, roger, rocks did, no shred of deception or mistification, 800 years went by and there's plenty of clues left in the world on that happened back then, damn, this kid operates... like a kid, no real world government would've acted like this without gaslighting or decieving, widsom or brightness or cleverness aren't his characteristics, and to let someone like wapol see you through a hole and escape, what a loser
Imu calls themselves that because literally no one know who they are, you can't guess who Imu is if you never see them
Exciting theory, I would like to add only that also the representative of the moon, as antipole to the sun, is still missing.
That would be Blackbeard, Buggy or Law (?)
that would be enel
Blackbeard would be the most plausible right now since he is an important enough character to be part of this solar system metaphor. But to realy find arguments for his connection to this would heavily depend on which theory to him you would find most plausible and this would be a big other topic that would make this theory a bit to big and therefore to messy.
We also don't have Blackbeard's backstory and goals
yeah thats what i mean to find any arguments you would need to go into the theorys about him so the moon would be open for now but if anyone has any good ideas how to fill that hole in the theory i would be very interested
Blackbeard makes a lot of sense, so does the return of enel (or the lunarians in general), seeing as he went to the moon.
Child Blackbeard was specifically shown looking at the moon in a SBS
- luffy / joyboy / nika represents cartoon-like powers in comics where characters do cartoon like actions or faces, and turn anything realistic into a cartoon or fantasy or something silly or funny, and/or go outside the panels themselves in terms of comic frameworks
- imu represents ink or control in comics where the comic itself consists out of drawings and coulds and panels in a frameworked, predetermined and controlled fashion to preserve clarity and transparency of what's depicted or what action occurs, and sequence of panels, otherwise it would've been chaotic, so it has to be controlled and aligned with rules
and so nika intends to break those rules and that control and bring some silliness and chaos and freedom and I think at some point near OP's end we will see how these two opposing ideologies will start to pour out from the action in the manga itself into outside of the panels (ie. breaking the 4th wall), and we might see some struggle between imu and nika ie. between trying to control the panels and clouds and action and objects, and nika's attempts to go outside the panels and break them or merge one with another and turn everything into a flexible rubber even the comic/manga itself, which is what the ultimate form "bring joy through freedom" could be.
This is a brilliant theory
Imu - sama
In chapter 1086 Oda represented Imu as a male
I assume that there are 2 scenarios about Imu
S1: Saint Imu Nerona is a male\female who used the Ope Ope no mi to control another person (male\female) who has a high role\special power
S2: Saint Imu Nerona is 2 characters that agree together and one of them uses the Ope Ope no mi on the other
we are on a flashback then how we would see the gorosei talking about it at the same frame we see lulusia burning or whatever is happening on it
did Imu see the future? maybe
another thing I want to say
we saw one of the Gorosei saying "The world moves at the will of the creator" this shows that Imu really have the ability to create objects
A character saying something doesn’t make it true necessarily
Mars called Imu the creator of the government, not a literal creator deity
Is it possible that the same way we didn't know Luffy's true devil fruit was the Sun God fruit and Luffy was totally unaware that Aramaki has the Mythical Zoan Forest God devil fruit without knowing because the Gorosei/WG don't trust him with the information? Loyalty he has towards the Celestial Dragons but that doesn't mean competence. The WG want willing pawns but in order for Aramaki to NOT grow out of control and remain a pawn (Another oda joke: A Forest if let grow out of control can be a problem'. There are a lot of jokes like that where the devil fruit has a lot to do with how the character acts and how they progress with the plot
So, been itching to post this, might as well rip the bandaid off; you don't like my theory, that's fine, just...don't be an *ss about it.
Sorry for all the coming text, there's a lot I want to get off my chest, and I've been trying to find the right words for it all, keeping it as brief as I can
First, while I will fully acknowledge being a fan of the character, I'm not blindly optimistic about the how thing might turn out, and know that her last appearance might've just been the final farewell until the final arc, where all the straw hats allies are rallied for the big war that's going to take place.
However, there JUST enough story telling breadcrumbs left over for me to believe there's still a chance that she (Carrot) might still join up with the main crew, and it all comes down to a few things: A) an excited comment she made in Whole Cake Island when she overheard Nami and Chiffon talking about Elbaf B) the association she had with the 'lookout' position (that she basically inherited from Pedro (along with his will)), and C) the ambiguity of her situation at the end of Wano
As such, if there's ANY chance of her becoming a Straw Hat, it'll be somewhere around the Elbaf Island arc, with her having been prepared for the biggest journey of her life by the minks, who she informed of Pedro's true will.
For the record, I'm well aware that Vivi will likely be reuniting with the Straw Hats, and that a lot of fans want her to join the crew on a permanent basic. That's fine, and I have no problem if that's the case, even if she's not my first choice.
However, it's also entirely possible that Vivi will be returning as a guest, needing to be escorted again, this time to a safe location where she will learn about Cobra's last message to her from Sabo, and from there, either have Alabasta cut ties with the world government and join the revolutionary army, or have Alabasta declared a territory of the Emperor Straw Hat Luffy while she returns as the queen.
It's Oda; anything's possible, and, even taking into account how good he is at foreshadowing, there's no way of telling which way he'll take things. All that we can really do is make an educated guess.
There, I said what I wanted to say. Just glad I'm not bottling it up anymore
Sorry if this belongs more in Manga-serious or something; I guess...I guess I just want to be able to talk to someone about it, to share my thoughts and such
Doesn’t one of the five elders kinda look like a possible clone of Gan Fall
or vice versa they just really look alike
lol the love for carrot is real, i think vivi is better for the straw hats and makes more sense than a usuless bunny lol
Thing is we know nothing about imu, but imu is in fact king of the world the exact position BB wants to be in and the exact position rocks wanted to be in
I thought to myself why would BB go for him and then BB vs Luffy
But at the same time imu Vs Luffy sounds kinda epic considering that imu most probably did fight joyboy or atleast saw joyboy before
And now he fights the new joyboy again
And we see parallels of like imu fighting joyboy in Nika form and Luffy in his Nika form
Things like that seem very interesting to me
But at the same I feel Oda will still to BB either being the final or maybe he'll fight him after Luffy reaches the one piece or smthn or before reaching it
Also notice the Oda mastermind in introducing to us so many strong characters to show it isn't just the marines, the WG has some insane power too
And he does this thing where I believe it's super smart it's not like he is introducing characters stronger than the ones we knew before he ya introducing other people on their level
Introducing the royal knights who boss seems to be the guy who injured WB(this doesn't mean he was stronger than WB)
And now the 5 elders who are definitely strong but that doesn't mean they'll 1 shot characters like Akainu or Kaido
The only character he introduced that seems to be level above the characters we know is Imu
vegapunk's mother-flame can be "warped" instantly between islands to fire for destruction... the warp tech itself was shown back to back with vega's full, official reveal (ch. 1066) - as for arriving to directions itself: magnetic fields also used by the log/eternal pose... more hints:
I agree that the weapon is being powered by Vegapunks energy source but there is a thing
back in history we know that Albert Enstien discovered some type of energy and his goal was to help people but it was used as a bomb in Hiroshima and Nagazaki
the same thing is happening to Vegapunk

The Vegapunk introduced in his debut chapter was a hologram. He didn't teleport
@modest skiff did you read my thing? #manga-theories message
oh good idea, thanks
if this is ur take , it has to one of those interesting reads i have read
why dodnt imu then use that power to stop lili if he can control the whole manga... ?
same way luffy still can't break the whole manga with his rubber, maybe it's something we'll see by the end once both of them develop that power through their battle (prob 100 chapters long), or maybe not, who knows, it's nice to theorize about it tho and it would be cool if it happened
imu had 800 years to train. luffy had 2 years.
train what exactly? all we know is that imu could be as powerful as he was 900 years ago, meaning we know nothing about it whether he did or didn't or is or isn't, and btw. luffy started "training" when he was a little kid so it's 10 years. none of that disproves my imagination on what could happen in the finale of op when someone becomes stronger or unlocks certain abilities during the battle itself, like we seen happen time and time and time again in this manga.
train the devil fruit. if imu had a devil fruit for 800 years he deff had to master it by now and if he had that fruit he would stop lili or by now use it to his will and rewrite evrything. luffy train for 10 years thinking his df is a rubber heck to this point he still dont know is a god. imu knwoing what his fruit does and doesnt do anything kinda sus for him to have that fruit.
Theory : Figarland Family isnt the Original 20 Celestial Dragon Family
I know its a wild theory but stay with me, so why do i said this? what is the reason?
We know that saint garling fingarland is revealed to be a king of god valley and a leader of holy knight. But, how can he be a king and a cd at the same time?
From what we know in the story. Approximately 800 years before the current timeline, 20 royal families from different islands across the world formed an alliance to combat the Great Kingdom. After the 20 kingdom alliance was victorious, 19 of the 20 royal families relocated to the Holy Land of Mary Geoise, the city built at the top of the Red Line at the halfway point of the Grand Line, a location referred to as "the center of the world". Only the royal family of Arabasta Kingdom chose to stay in their homeland.
All 19 family that move to marijoa become the celestial dragon that we know today except the nefertari family they didnt go to marijoa to become a cd and deem as traitor. But its not only nefertari family, instead we have Figarland family also who stay as a royalty in God Valley but become a Celestial dragon? How can that be?
So, my theory is. Figarland family is actually not a 20 cd family that form the wg. Instead they are a royal family that is a king in god valley and not a celestial dragon family at that time. After the god valley incident. Bcoz of saint garling fingarland have a really big role saving the cd there at the time and protecting them from the threat of rocks pirate. He is instated as a new celestial dragon. But, only he, not his whole family. And now, he become the leader of holy knight based on the perfomance of god valley protecting the cd there.
So, before the god valley incident. He is the king of god valley. After the god valley incident. He is a celestial dragon and a leader of Holy knight. I hope u enjoy reading my theory thx 🙂
Imu said they're gonna test the mother flame which is vegapunks invention, but then Dragon and Ivankov agree that what took out Lulusia could not have been made by Vegapunk and is possibly an ancient weapon, however that's strange considering what Imu and the Gorosei mentioned, so what if what took out Lulusia was an ancient weapon and "mother flame" is something that powered the ancient weapon? meaning what took out Lulusia was both an ancient weapon and something not made by vegapunk?
Possible but we can't confirm
Dragon likely doesn't know the meaning of D. No one in the revolution can read glyphs and he didn't know about the existence of Imu or the ancient weapons.
I think dragons might become their Ally, but i very much doubt they will be the D.
Whatever D is must be equal or more important than Luffy and the whole joyboy thing. I can't imagine dragons getting that importance out of nowhere
Dragons are actually pretty important but the entire symbology behind them is that of the nobility the enemy of the D clan from stuff like the obvious celestial dragons to sabos dragon claw fist we see a lot of dragon symbolism.
Also I am very doubtful theres any ties to a dragon lily when there are literally over 100+ types of lily flowers in the world and we know they never reach or at minimum spend more than a few hours in Aegis.
Gorosei betraying Imu is spicy. I'm pretty sure this is the same member who reluctantly made a buster call. If I recall correctly. He looked deeply bothered to have made that.
Also if my memory is correct Ju Peter is the first one to notice Sabos sneak attack.
I think it's the Mars guy, not the Jupiter one
Basically we know that the 5 elders represent one planet each sou of the 9, then we have e ancient weapons that add to a total of 8 planeta plus imu that represents earth and the ego of the men, we also have Luffy the sun and the captain of the holy nights that represent the moon so we know have all players in game
if only people knew of the real history of the world
mother flame is the fuel that Vegapunk created that powers up Uranus which is in the possession of the WG. Remember how Vegapunk talked about creating an undying fire. Vegapunk wouldn't tell the gorosei he's basing his research on the void century so it must've been the Vegapunk snitch who told them
I think this explanation factors in everything. I just read Lilith saying that Egghead itself is run on fire as a power source
Yes!!!!!! I agree 100%
Vegapunk also talked about trying to recreate the energy source that powered the robot he found
I wonder if Pluto is powered by this energy source as well
Lilith was adams first wife. She left paradise because she would rather live with demons than with Adam in paradise(marijoa). She is considered a primordial demon (god’s enemies). Adam was 930 years old when he died ( Imu is around that age, 800+ years, 930 if he was 30 when the void century started). The eve three (adams second wife) is in marijoa.
these connections with mythology can work but I feel so many connections can be made that its very difficult to guess which one Oda uses
for example marijoa paralled with paradise goes against what Sabo said about it being hell and the people at the top being represented as demons.
Lili being Imu's wife is itself possible but we have no indication of that and Imu having a second wife is even more improbable. Especially when we consider Imu is a kid and Lili was an adult woman
We don’t know Imu is a kid or Lili was an adult tho
The whole Imu is a kid thing is based on some very vague notions about how Imu speaks. It’s hardly confirmed in the slightest
its not vague at all, Japanese is more nuanced with how peolpe of different ages/positions speak
but I do agree its not confirmed
Yeah, it's not confirmed but you'd be a fool to not consider it quite likely assuming you know the nuance of the Japanese and characterization
with the height as well
The St Peter elder is eventually going to be killed by Imu. The real life St Peter was killed by none other than emperor Nero, and we’ve learnt Imus real name is nerona (Nero-na). I’m guessing he might betray Imu and when dies he’ll have a backstory or it might just be a normal kill.
What if god valley is that flying island
also Jupiter is supposed to be the equivalent of Zeus. Zeus was one of the younger gods who rebelled against their father(kronos) , overthrowing him to free his siblings of their tyranny. So I’m assuming there’ll be a traitor amongst the five elders, either st Jupiter or st Peter
yea he's the roman equivalent of Zeus
Im not saying they are married just that the names are there. Oda doesn’t take the whole myth and inserts it into the manga to the last detail, he does this kind of thing where he uses the names but they aren’t married while sharing some aspects with the myth. Marijoa has been said to be the paradise in the series by the tenryubito. I think Oda plays with who are supposed to be the gods and the demons and who are actually more like demons and saviors. I’m just pointing paralelisms, but I make no predictions based on them. Whenever people start reading too deep into myths it’s never correct, Oda just takes names and details doesn’t use every detail and relation in the myth.
Is there any in story reason why St. Ten Peter would betray Imu?
What do you mean Nami is Imu? I've never heard that theory
I am curious what Shiki is doing all this time bcs his influence in pirate world is preety big
the shit gonna turn into the bible with the holy trinity 😭 you got joyboy the nika nika fruit and sun god nika
from my understanding, NIKA is a legend represent freedom which Joyboy and luffy use, much like phonix is a legend that dosent exist but marco uses its existence
wait dendenmushi starts with mu… is there a link 👁️
nah that’s a stretch
It just means insect
but u see the real name in one piece which resembls
imu looks like an insect tbf
What? How is that related to Garling looking like a crescent?
from the beard to head
@iron zephyr could the person who obtains the nika nika fruit is the sun god and as joyboy ate the fruit he became the sun god? makes us wonder about devil fruit wills and how the wills came to be and the devils fruits came to be
So how is that related to Imu??
it is real life example solar system sun and moon
hasnt been revealed, we dont actually know much bout Joyboy, he couldve died of the same sickness as roger for all we know.
Uhh can someone help explain, I don't understand how Garling is related to Imu's appearance
bro moon side verse sun side
Honestly I think they trapped the individuals into the fruits of mythicals
And how is that related to Imu? Luffy is the sun not Imu
because we all knew that luffy is sun god
And Imu?
I see it has the moon rotates around the earth. Remember there is like a bunch of moons in our solar system earth is like the only one with just one so figarland being the moon that rotates around Imu I think he's higher up than the elders
wait.. as imu is translated as sea in japanese… and the devil fruits like to stay away from the sea, is it because imu is the god of the sea that the devil fruits like to stay away from the sea? could imu have created the devil druits? could joyboy have created the devil fruits as he is the opposite of imu who is darkness and nothingness?
Imu isn't sea in japanese
No umi is sea in Japanese
sorry yes well imu is umi backwards and people have speculated that he is the god of the sea because of that
we didnt get clear view of this guy but he can absorb sobo flame
Garling likely ages while the Gorosei don't, also at this point Imu is probably the void rather than the earth.
To address @pure raven , Umi isn't Imu backwards, that only works in english
well a lot of credible people have stated that theory, i understand possibly character wise it wouldn’t work, but not even pronunciation wise? sorry i know nothing about japanese
opppisite of sea is earth, moon is endless veath ('Enel' - Skypia), sun and moon are night n day -----, imu represent moon
There is no evidence to back up Garland or the elders having eternal life only Imu
if he is sea then akoji himself can defeat imu because he can frezze the water
Personally with film red existing, shanks was found in that chest on god valley right. His name is also heavily implied to be figurland. Then this chapter we so happen to get an older man, last name figurland, and former king of God Valley. That lines up pretty well anyway. But then, shanks and Garling have opposing ideals, which would make an interesting parallel. Garling said that anyone who protects the weak is weaker than the scum they protect. Whereas we saw shanks’s fleet, and it’s full of weak pirates who he protects, physically like we saw with Kidd. And he lets them use his name for safety while traveling.
what if the voice of all things is joyboys will and all those with D can hear the voice of all things?
and guys figurland family can have twins like two shanks
Yeah it really only works in english.
@oblique isle , we haven't seen the elders age even in Ohara, and if Garling is actually the father of Shanks then he's most likely not immortal
Look at dragon during O'Hara dragon barley looks any older lol
Mono has it and he isn’t a D
even the queen of albasta has d
we don't know for sure yet
He has the will of D, the Kozuki family didn't actually have the initial because it doesn't fit into japanese names
are you proposing dragons a rebeled elder (6 eleders makes a ton of sense)
That would mean garp, dragon and luffy are celestial dragons
How does that make sense, also they're saying that the Gorosei aren't necessarily immortal
garp dosent have to be
I mean, devils advocate:
Shanks could perfectly be the son of a Tenryuubito who is from the Figerland family, and Rocks. And the moon hair dude is his relative.
Yes he would, you can’t just become a celestial dragon, it’s by blood, and then if you say it was dragon’s mom. They aren’t allowed to marry non celestial dragons
dw, figure im wrong lmao
Guys I suggest you go to a different channel, this is for long form theories not short discussions
No I'm staying dragon didnt age like at all in 20 years from O'Hara. And here is the elders during it. It's really hard to tell because there shrouded in darkness but to me they look like they could be younger other than mars who looks the same but so does kuzan!
The only one that looks to be the same age is mars and even that's hard to tell really ? And it only shows 3 out of the 5
That could also be what happened, Garling could be his uncle or grandpa. But with the conflicting ideologies, dad or grandpa works the best. Personally it all works to week for it not be his dad, but I can see how people might not believe it.
You don't have any proof, please don't post baseless speculation in this channel
It's for theories with evidence, not random speculation. Also, dragon was 15 at god valley.
I mean tho I disagree that dragon could be there koby was 16 when he joined the Marines
Right but celtrial dragon is written in Japanese Tenryūbito. It's just a little different tbh. Dragon name uses English tho..not to mention in Japanese mythology dragons have a lot to do with koi ascending water falls and becoming dragons
Also the celestials being named D is counterintuitive, there's no other significance to the D being Dragon than what you've said
They do they appear in wano during wanted and oda has confirms ryuma is the same ryuma
The dragon on the right is the first dragon to ever be shown in the one piece universe dragons were a real thing in one piece.if you havent read wanted specifically the chapter about ryuma you have to right now. It's literally confirmed to take place in wano
I'm not taking real world inspiration, it's literally the phrasing used in manga
It's basicly the same dragon from punk hazard even Zoro slices it the same way and yeah it doesn't look like wano but oda confirmed it was
Maybe but most likely not sense Seiryū always appears as an eastern blue dragon it's literally the translations..blue dragon and the only depiction are eastern
Yeah I'm not sure why the Wano dragon was European
The first devil fruit ever shown is based on a melon.
It's monsters in a collection called wanted. Oda first published work and monster is where ryuma originate from and oda has confirmed it to take place in the one piece world
alot of DF also look like mushrooms, starts and othe questionable objects, the dragonfruit style adds uniqness to some of the fruits
It's literally 青龍, an asian dragon, of course Oda needs it to be eastern
It does need to be different because Easter dragons originate from a koi going up stream or a water fall to become a dragon (meaning there fish) while other dragons don't have this in the lore and @iron zephyr I would definitely give wanted a read it's honestly really good! Wish I could find a physical of it in English
If it was the dragon fruit straight up you would have a point but it isn't
Aegis Kingdom isn’t Greece it’s GB
That was my whole point, Monkey D. Dragon, celestial dragons and Kaido all use different kanji or katakana
We saw the king at a the reverie and regardless dragons do not really feature in any Greek myths outside of maybe typhon if you stretch it.
But it’s not Greece it’s Great Britain
Oda be taking ideas from greece, rome, buddhism, zoroastrian and tons of other cultures, he has also been caught mixmatchin some cultures in skypea and zou arcs
Actually she say Eegis
In places we actually see yes but the reverie is literally just insert stereotype here. Like the king of Mexico is called taco it’s not some elaborate combo.
Actually she says Eigisu
I have screenshot which I wish I could post and translation its spelled aegis
The name of this kingdom is likely a portmanteau of the words Eikoku (英国?) and Igirisu (イギリス?), names for the United Kingdom in Japan.@fallow bobcat no here the official translations
Not to mention we know they never reach their Morgan’s picks them up
It could be spelt in any way
You kinda proved me right here, the transliteration is Eigis
I just can't spell 🤣 or type! Fat fingers lol
Apparently I can't either, proved** lol
It’s phonetic no ? But I would assume it’s E because England starts with E
idk if anyone has said this yet but you remember that statue form skypiea. it has the same shape as Imu and it says the statue is representing the eternal yearnings of the citizens who lived in the sky. we all know how much oda loves foreshadowing so i think that is a staute of Imu from when she was the ruler of skypiea. what do you guys think?
I was on board with Imu being Vearth but than I wasn't and now I'm kinda back again..most likely an alien tho if you ask me vearth.
Not the place
been lookig for a simular theory thread, main reason i joined the server, Bout Nika. Nika's weapons are knownto be a Sword and a Spear. What if the weapons dont represent zoro n sanji, but two new factions in the war against the world government / imu...... the secret Navy orginisation SWORD with Monkey.D.Garp as the leader, and the revelutionary army as the spear with mankey D Dragon as a leader. this way the war with the monkey family all as leader on one side which makes sense.
Honestly my favorite theory about what the D means is that it simply has multiple meanings for example Luffys D could be mean Dawn but laws mean destiny etc.
It would be a great subversion of expectations without contradicting anything said before(that I know of). It would explain the split between more noble D clan people like Roger and Luffy and the more nefarious ones ala Rock/Blackbeard
I always like determination because it just seems like the d are so determined with what ever they become fixated on! It also described luffys so well. Also I believe Hanuman used a sword( the Indian deity that Luffy is based on) I think he will make weapons like he made the goggles during kaidos fight infact I think he will use divine departure one day
What if all the royals 800 years were were forced? Had no choice?
What if instead of being simply allied, they either lost or were forced to, and Lily was the only "traitor"?
Probably Imu threatened them to join with a weapon and li li knew she had to keep her origin a secret. I have no bases but maybe the ak didn't beat the 20 nations but at least made sure to cripple the ancient weapon?
Everything until now points to the 20 founders being allied against the ancient kingdom, with lily being a traitor to them and siding with the ancient kingdom. Why would you think the tenryubito ancestors would be victims, the tenryubito are always depicted as oppressors and the bad guys, it makes no sense to me to think that they would have been forced to join.
That statue was so weird, vearth is earth and it wasn’t explained why it was represented with a creature.
The current CD are were talking 800 years in the past. We already know one kingdom lied in joining and opposed in secret for 800 years. We have also seen the Donquixote family, a majority of them decided to oppose the ideals of other CD. Your thinking of it too black in white im not saying all 20 kingdoms were on board but it's not farfetched to think other than alabasta that didn't agree . So no everything till not has not said that
That another of the 19 families that went to live in marijoa could have been in the AK side is not impossible, but we have no reason to think so or any conclusions to draw from it.
We do Imu completely obliterated an island for rebelling. This definitely could have happened during the void
But specifically you're right we don't know but he probably did have something in his possession that would make the others want to follow. I guess to rule over others? Or maybe to set up a system that would make them "gods" but some one other than Lili had to disagree
ahmed rhay mout
Luffy is joyboy, since he has the same df
Ok so here is my theory: luffy's mom was a celestial dragon and dragon loved her. The Marines were against their marriage and attacked them. Dragon to attain his revenge started revolutionary army.
Just gonna throw this out there bc I don't know where else. My most half baked biggest reach theory I have is that we'll get a "Land of the Dead" arc and it'll be the Luffy only arc before the final arc
Literally just based on vibes, a lot of my favorite stories/RPGs feature a moment where either the MC dies and gets resurrected ||like Chrono trigger|| , or MC gets an opportunity to meet/reunite with long dead characters ||Harry Potter, Naruto|| and there is a personification of Death in story + mention of a Land of the Dead Brook avoided going to
OP is literally bordering on Isekai levels of RPG-ness so I feel like it wouldn't be surprising if it borrowed tropes like getting existential towards the end and God-like being as the final boss
Shanks was found on god valley and we know he is related to the fingarland guy in 1086. What if buggy was also found on god valley but buggy is actually rocks d xebecs son.💯💯💯
Has the theory that ethan nusjuro has ichidai kietsu been tossed around
imagine
I think Imu was the one who used Op-Op fruit on the one that's sitting on the throne. Even if people find some sort of evidence, they would just think he's Imu and his real name will be safe. Idk why this thought popped but names in One Piece are pretty important.
That would make Rocks story as comedy and Buggy's to be a tad bit serious, that's counterproductive for both
Naruto had this "imagine there's a mastermind behind a mastermind" and it didn't work well. Why would there be a false Imu when we didn't even care for the real one
I would bet that someone else from im's house used it and with immortality in play they (the other 18) had no other choice but to succumb and let im rule
There's no way the position wasn't attained with great difficulty
I'm saying this based on what ivankov said about im's potential identity
I also don't count lili into the 20 founding famlies because it is my assumption that she packed up and left then im's people caught up with her later
- Only Lily disappear out of the 20
- Even when Lily cause the poneglyph to spread, Arabasta remain unharmed, no threats there
- Only 2 recent Donquixote distance themselves from nobility, it's not "majority"
- The original Donquixote slaved the Tontattas before Riku family replaced them
- For 800 years all 19 families live in harmony on Mary Geoise, willingly
- And we never see anyone spoke against slavery or celestial tribute either until recently
In conclusion, the idea that other than Lily herself there's anyone else rebelling is still far fetched
Figarland Garling is the father or uncle of shanks
I wasn't suggesting that another guy was behind Imu, I was suggestion that another person was impersonating Imu. Then I realized that the five elders don't have to call Imu by a fake name when they're alone so ye I don't think that's a good theory 👀
- Okay so your just stating facts
- Lili was only suspected of being a traitor in referring to illusia being blown up. It isn't untill recently Imu has had confirmation that Lili was a d and the traitor from 800 years ago.
- How many donquiqote have we met? Doffy, doffy father, mother, brother and uncle...how many of those have been redeemed? 4 our of 5? Is that a majority? Uh yes.
- Your missing my point that people can't change over time or be forced I to joining like Lili
- How do you know this when it's the void century🤣 also we literally know doffy father left there so this is completely wrong there definitely could be other that have tried.
- Yes because they are all killed by the holy knights or made to leave the holy land I think your missing the subtext to the introduction of the holy knights and how many other CDs are killed the same way because they believe in different views.
Not really have you seen the at jupeter theory's. So much evidence he's a traitor. Gotta read a little deeper with one piece
We know that the Donquixote were pieces of shit from the Dressrosa flashbacks and exposition
Clarify this, isn't your theory there "might" be other kingdoms that opposed to Imu but they were threatened to not do so because they were threatened by a weapon or something? My point of bringing Lily, and I'm not even saying the word "traitor" you did, is that even when Imu knew she caused the poneglyphs to spread, nothing harm ever come to Arabasta. Then where's the evidence of this "threat"? And what's the point of Imu threatening them in the first place when the alternative is living in Mary Geoise?
Also counting Donquixote by "how many we met", instead of the obvious fact they been in Mary Geoise for 800 years and who knows how many generations, is kinda disingenious. That's like saying the "majority" of mermaid princess born are Poseidon because we have a whopping sample of 2. And we know Homing and Mjosgard are outliers, just look at all the Celestials during Rev raid. The original Donquixote slaved Tontattas we know that. Both of them were not even "rebelling" in the same sense that Lily did.
Also the subtext of that holy knight execution is that the majority of Celestials are cheering while Mjosgard, the 1 guy, is an outlier
I mean why in the absence of information now that we have to prove that nothing happened?
- "we know nothing of void century, so there "could" be other kingdom rebelling, there "could" be Imu's weapon threats, they "could" be killed by holy knights" - and so on
Imu has the Hito Hito no mi model Sea Devil
And it gives you the ability to give devil fruit powers to others, like he gave the Gorosei zoan forms
"The Motherframe"
What is the weapon of Mariejois?
And why is there a giant strawhat in Mariejois... what if... the giant hat IS the weapon...
But its not a hat...
Also the look of the Celestial Dragons makes more sense if you look at them as Aliens.
They're wearing space suits!
The Celestial dragons
Are there any theories on how Blackbeard gave Shanks his scar? He’s had his scar way back before he ever met Luffy. So at least 12+ years ago. Between the time of Roger’s execution and meeting Luffy. We could assume that Shanks has always had powerful haki (or at least conquerors haki since most can use it from a young age, whether on purpose or unknowingly), so how did pre-devil fruit Teach manage to scar Shanks like he did? And why?
your post will likely be deleted as this is a place to post theories not to request them....
but let me induldge you quickly.
What makes you believe Teach himself doesn't posses CoC? He might be too dumb to realize what power it was then. But same as luffy presented feats that shocked experienced haki users, teach might have suprised a very cocky shanks. Given how Teach is at the very least inspired by Xebec....a possible theory would be that there was some God Valley related talk that turned into a fight. Or it was some Cavendish like monster that awakens when Teach does end up sleeping. possibilities are endless here.
even we can say that shanks get his will be the scar
Thanks
guys, isn't kizaru an uncle to sentomaru? this was something that we learned when both of them were introduced back in saobody. and so I'm curious on kizaru's, no, borsalino's reaction when he sees or hears from sentomaru himself about the events that unfolded, could it be that kizaru will switch sides to mugiwaras the same way cp0 did, especially once saturn will take over the control of 4 seraphim that are there from that kid who betrayed and we know of seraphim's powers and now saturn's as well, it's likely it's gonna be luffy, zoro, sanji, kaku, lucci, stussy AND borsalino versus saturn and 4 seraphims
all I'm trying to say is that there was a reason why Oda made from the start sentomaru as vegapunk's bodyguard AND kizaru's nephew, certainly so that this relationship will have some significance at some point
he's not
They are kinda friends no ? even if it’s not his actual uncle they did seem at least somewhat knowledgeable so they will get a scene discussing it at some point if I had to guess.
Possible, it could cause Sakazuki to tuen against the government. One counterpoint though, Sentomaru isn't Kizaru's nephew.
What if Zunesha is Lili Nefertari? It was stated that Zunesha committed a crime 800 years ago… what if that’s what Imu was saying about Lili distributing the Poneglyphs around the world. This would also explain Zuneshas connection to Joy Boy and Lili’s disappearance. She didn’t disappear she was instead turned into Zunesha
no, it’s wrong translation. it was used as „yakuza boss”
For some reason I think zunesha was part of some other tribe (a quick google says it is a naitamaie-Norida elephant), but this would lead for some interesting speculation. This would imply that whoever imposed this punishment on Zunesha/Lili has the ability to turn other people into other creatures (which may explain the gorosei transformations).
The punishment also fits the crime; Lili "accidentally" spread the poneglyphs around the world. Now, Zunesha is not allowed to take any action without an express order to do so. If Luffy is the embodiment of free will and liberation, it makes sense that foil would stand for subdued will and slavery.
Perhaps this was Imu's way of making sure Lili couldn't cause any more accidents? It also makes sense why Zou contains a poneglyph, and how imu knows lili is the one who spread them; she would have been caught spreading them.
This brings about more questions than answers;
What is the significance of the final location zunesha has been searching for? (perhaps where the final poneglyph was going to be placed?)
Why would Imu allow Zunesha to take orders from people not him?
Why wouldn't Imu just execute Lili/Zunesha? Clearly he is willing to throw away entire nations.
Based on the above information, I have a new theory. Lili landed the final blow on Joyboy, or was instrumental in his loss in the ancient War. She did this for a similar purpose Snape killed dumbledore: To act as a double agent, and prepare for a future where the celestial dragons could be defeated. Upon being caught spreading poneglyphs, her status as a hero of the ancient war made Imu spare her life.
I’m glad your brought up the ability of transforming people into creatures. This is a point I wanted to bring up, it would be interesting if the Gorosei don’t actually have Zoan devil fruits, but were instead transformed by Imu. I think it was Vegapunk that said Devil Fruits are despised by Mother Nature. If Imu is in fact this “Mother Nature” or “Creator of the World” (as stated by Gorosei last chapter) it would make more sense for her subordinates to not have devil fruits but instead be influenced by Im’s ‘divine ability’? Or something along those lines
Why do people keep assuming that it was lilly that spread the Poneglyphs? That wouldnt be a mistake. A mistake is not e.g. not stopping someone from spreading them. I think its way more likely she let someone escape or didnt stop someone from spreading the poneglyphs.
agreed yeah. I like the idea that she went missing along with some prisoners and some poneglyphs, so it's ambiguous whether she deliberately let them out or was kidnapped/threatened/whatever
A "mistake" in the eyes of the government, not in the sense of an actual accident but more like "you shouldn't have done that, you just betrayed us"
No way would you call a betrayel like that a mistake. He wasnt sure she betrayed him or not. If he knew she had betrayed the 20 first nations they would say the first 19 nations and the bastard nefertari who deserved to be destroyed. Aint no way hed just let them chill for 800 years after he just nuked a kingdom for nothing.
Imu might not know it was intentional as she was tricked by lili who said it was a dumb mistake but actually a calculated move
Okay so here's a thought I just had.
God Valley probably had a lot of treasure hidden away in their royal vaults A lot of it probably belonging to the Figarland family. Treasure that Roger ended up taking, and possibly leaving at Laugh Tale? Would that mean the One Piece is partially Shank's inheritance? Is that why he wants it?
I honestly think Blackbeard has an existing devil residing in him, similar to how devil fruit users have an entity/substance that influences their soul. We've never actually seen Blackbeard defeat an enemy, it always cuts to when the enemy is already on the floor. This is very interesting because he seems to be someone who's very strong and very weak at the same time. Someone who can break Ace's bones but also not be able to dodge pre-timeskip Luffy. His strength is very difficult to gauge due to how polarised his offense and defense is. I think it's because in his default mode he is weak and the devil inside makes him quite powerful and durable, to where it can come out and create very powerful attacks, such as defeating the likes of Ace and Law.
This side of him must've come out when he attacked Shanks and I think Shanks is grasping the magnitude of this power, which is why he's so shook about Blackbeard and warned Whitebeard about him, potentially warning the Gorosei about him too.
I'm having trouble reconciling the Nefertari family history in Alabasta.
Alabsta predates to about 4,500 years to date. King Cobra is only the 12th King in the linage. So who was ruling before all that?
Could it be maybe the Nerona's were the rulers before and for whatever reason, Imu had to leave and start a Kingdom in the Nerona (something happened where the Neronas forced a change in who rules the land)? Is this the jealousy/anger aspect that triggers Imu when Lily is mentioned)? It did state the As soon as Lily Dissapeared, it was her Brother that took over to run Alabasta till current.
Key thing here is that 12 generations is to short to cover 4500 years of a country's history. I feel like (just like Wapol) the Nerona lineage were probably not good guys and (just like wapol again) they set base at a new country.
Nefertati family only began ruling a few hundred years before the VC
before that it was some other families, Robin says stuff about them when she reads the poneglyphs to Crocodile, that's why the palace is so old despite the current monarch is so young
Just a short one: Writing wise it feels like Buggy and Shanks have a big role in transitioning the generations. You have the older generation - Kaido, Whitebeard etc. and after that the middle generation - Buggy, Shanks, Mihawk, Crocodile - that sort of paves the way for the future.
Also Buggy is also the oppsite of Luffy in some ways. Buggy was introduces to not being able to be cut by a sword and Luffy can repel bullets. - Buggy is weak but still is getting a ton of respect from his crew and draws in strong people such as Mihawk and Crocodile - not wiliingly but that is usually an Anime protagonist power.
My most obvious theory is that Mihawk Croc and the rest of Cross Guild will wreck havoc in the Impel Down and free Doffy to join them and they will do their move to challenge the One Piece they have to do it Oda loves Buggy so he will make the Guild challenge for the One Piece
Scopper Gaban still on the loose after all
Only issue is how do they get to impel down in it’s the calm belt and the only way in is the current controlled by the WG.
So the youngest of the Goroseis name is St. Ju-peter
St. Peter was persecuted by the Roman’s under emperor Nero, and Imus family name is Nero-na. And Jupiter was the youngest of Kronos’ sons, who eventually overthrew him, and St ju-Peter is the one who questions Imus choices the most
Maybe we’ll get a betrayal of imu towards the end of their series
Buggy’s def gonna take the title of pirate king at least for a bit
hell naw, maybe he gon have the chance to steal the title
im sure he gon do nothing
So you killed thatch and stole it?
That was just bad luck! This power chose me, ace!
That's what bb said so...its basically confirmed bb has a mythical zoan
Buggy went from regular pirate to shichibukai, then Yonko off of charisma and lies alone, he could easily become the pirate king by either his crew hyping him up or maybe like a mistake in the news papers switching his name with luffy when he becomes pirate king or something
Took some time to catch up to 50 odd chapters of One Piece. Main thing I wanna bring up is my surprise in lack of theories between Kid and the Iron Giant? My hypothesis is that the previous user of the Magnet-Magnet fruit was responsible for controlling it, and that's the "energy source" Vegapunk is searching for; it in fact comes from this other punky guy.
Thinking about it more, why would the Giant be inactive for centuries... and then suddenly the stars align for it to be moveable again in between 900 and 200 years ago?? 200 years doesn't feel like that much time ago in OP, so it feels hard to imagine it's some special energy that existed but suddenly became unfindable/unrecorded.
That's why I think in this world with the main supernatural being devil fruits, a devil fruit is likely involved. I surmise that just as how the Iron Giant originally moved 900 years ago, a past user of the Jiki-Jiki was also responsible for the Iron Giant in Mariejois, before they were caught and murked by Holy Knights or smth, and that's why it came to an unexpected stop.
Trying to stretch this one step further, what if other certain advancements of the Ancient Kingdom also comes from the powers of Kid's fruit? Kid is the only one out of his 3 Billion trio that currently doesn't have a deeper meaning to his DF. This would tie him to the Void Century and make him too a special figure that must be erased from history, for having potential of recreating aspects of the Ancient Kingdom, such as controlling the Iron Giant.
@cobalt igloo @ ishysgone (rip)
I would adore for this to happen. Currently I’m counting on Elbaf to focus on what’s next for Kid the same way dressrosa did for Law. A talk with Saul about ancient stuff would be great and i think this would be a really cool way of getting that interaction between them to kick off. Another thing I think will happen is Kid going to mariejois and fighting alongside the revos to “get rid of the scum” as a nice callback to his auction house intro. So him doing that with these ancient robots (maybe even an army of them) would be so cool, I can’t believe I didn’t put it together until now. I recall it coming to mind one or two times when the chapter came out but since didn’t tie it to Kid post loss
Are they talking about that burnt face man?
There's been plenty of theories on who could it be, most of them sounded "meh" to me, and my own wish would've been some sinister Davy Jones type of character, similar to the one in PotC series, that would expand OP lore and world, and have his own arc, but the problem is that oda already made "jones" and "van der decken" loser characters back in fishman island so that's against my wished theory. There's one on youtube about that secret character being Deuce, Ace's partner and ex-crewmate, which I thought was interresting and that's the one I'm hoping will be true.
Davy Jones is a character that we haven't seen in the manga though, he could be relevant
3 solutions: 1) They are the last dynasty to rule, 2) Most of the kings have unnaturally long lives, 3) Queens, like Lily and presently Vivi, do not count as those 12 kings
The problem with this theory is Vegapunk had no reason to link the robot with Ancient Kingdom if it's merely a fruit that can exist in any age
I have small additions on this God Valley theory, just a thought that I had:
-
God Valley was located in part of Red Line that resides in West Blue. If you look at OP world map, you'll notice that Red Line is not a straight line, there's twist and turns in there. This is in conjunction with recent theory that states God Valley is based on the rock formations in Utah, which looks red. It's called "valley" because it's technically not an island, it's a valley formation on Red Line continent
-
It explains how Celestials can rule there (because they technically didn't descend from Red Line). Also explains how Shanks can be born in West Blue. After reaching Lodestar, Roger might exit Grand Line through the Calm Belt parallel to West Blue (West Blue is adjacent to the New World part of the Grand Line). Also Shanks association with the color RED, coincidence?
-
Lunarians used to live in Red Line, and God Valley is probably the last Lunarian dominion before they were enslaved there by Celestials. This is why Whitebeard mentioned that "Gods used to live on Red Line", because he was present in God Valley with Rocks. And based on King's (Alber) age, he could be the last survivor of God Valley incident 38 years ago, and the reason why he and Kaido was captured together and transported to Punk Hazard
-
The "flames" that the holder of last Road Poneglyph has, probably comes from God Valley incident. Either it's Lunarians flame or the scar he sustained when the valley is destroyed
If it’s not a science invention and it’s a fruit, it’s the Enel fruit. We have seen him powering ancient kingdom robots.
I was answering to this
That was likely Shiki with slightly less hair
Speaking of Shiki, where is he? He claimed to have a 20 years long plan and bragged to whitebeard about it in chapter 0, now 24 years have passed and he's still nowhere to be found
Given that we know the donquixote family ruled dressrossa centuries before the story. I think it’s possible that the 19 families before coming to marigeoise ruled over islands throughout the grand line.
We are told that this is what happened, after the void century the 20 kingdoms that formed the WG left their kingdoms and started living in mariegeoise except the nefetari bloodline
Well the thing is I assume that each of the kingdoms that the straw hats have been to were ruled by the celestial dragon families. Like the drum kingdom.
I think the final war will start between the Four Emperors for the fourth poneglyph. Since Robin and Pudding are the only ones who can read poneglyph and they are with Luffy and Blackbeard respectively, they are at an advantage.
The war of the Four Emperors will blow out of proportion. I think the main fight will be Blackbeard vs Shanks because Shanks has been tailing Blackbeard since long and he also gave him the scar. But i think the war will end with Shanks getting killed so that a Luffy vs Blackbeard fight can happen later on with more emotional intensity (because BB was responsible for the murder of Ace).
I think Luffy will reach Laughtale, see whatever is there and then declare a war on the WG for all there crimes.
I see Blackbeard siding with Imu. Buggy Croco Mihawk and a good portion of marines siding along with luffy(Smoker, Koby, Garp)
I've said this for a while but I'm convinced Dragon has the Tori Tori no Mi: Model Thunderbird
that seems like it would make sense he is kinda native -inspired it seems, design and motivation
she couldn't during WCI but Big Mom thought she'd be able to at some point
Why would Blackbeard ally with Imu ? Outside both being evil it seems extremely out of character to me.
You mean the guy in one of the cover pages dressed in yellow and orange? That is most likely shiki and it would be cool to see him again
Also why would Imu ally with BB when he knows BB will just eventually betray him again just like what happen with the waelord system
[Luffy's end of series Dream: to buy the world]
This is for me the simplest and the most elegant way to end the series. Many have speculated that Luffy's dream is to have a banquet with the world, or the freedom of the world, but these theories fail to account that: 1) Roger have reached Laugh Tale without achieving the dream, and 2) Luffy's dream should be selfish, childish, but he thought achievable even if it's near impossible to many. I believe that what he reveal to the crew, and what Roger revealed to WB and Oden, was: "Using the treasure hidden in the final island, I will buy the entire world!"
Now for some context: I believe that the ancient kingdom's dangerous ideology Professor Clover was talking about was "to envision a future without kings and nobility". The name of the kingdom might be something like "The Kingdom of Free People" or something that indicate that, instead of an actual name as many suggests. And to achieve that dream they intend to freely spread their futuristic technology to the entire world. The 20 kings who felt threatened that their throne might be jeopardized, betrayed the kingdom and their vision, when they were invited.
This explains why the kings didn't grab the technology for themselves, because they feel threatened that the technology might spread and empower the people. Instead, they bury everything related to the kingdom (Void Century) and made a worldwide alliance centered around the new nobility, the Celestials. This could also explain why Nefertari can join the movement at first and betrayed them later, because Nefertari want to keep their position as king and later realize that they should side with the people instead. Will of D could stand for Will of Demos, will of the people, to rid themselves of nobility privilege. This is why people of D will always clash with authority
Now about the dream, I believe that Luffy, after reviving ancient kingdom tech when he reached Laugh Tale, and defeating Celestials along with the Revs, will try to bargain with world kingdoms of the entire world to give up their throne in exchange for the One Piece treasure (whatever it is, I have no theory as of yet). Now of course he wouldn't do it out of charity, instead it's a selfish dream to buy the entire world. Roger didn't do it because the treasure isn't ready yet. All of this is in line with Luffy's idea that he want to become king of pirates without ruling anything
Very nice theory. This can easily be the case bcs Luffy’s mind is freely pure, simple. When he told the crew his dream, Franky kinda vibed into it and Usopp felt uneasy. I’d ask Why such reactions for this. Don’t feel like a match or smth
I love this theory and I can honestly see this being Luffy's goal. One of the best theories I have seen on it and your idea on the D clan wanting to get rid of authority fits with the themes of the series.
It can fit, but I think his dream is to make a world sized feast where everyone can eat and drinks for days
I think the final reward at Laugh Tale (separate to finding out about the history and getting the power to defeat the world government, which will also happen) will be the ability to go to space.
If you think about it Luffy and Zoro are on track to complete their life goals at a very young age, and they're doomed to spend the rest of their lives bored like Mihawk. For them being presented with an endless expanse of new challenges would be the best possible reward. Afterall, we know from Enel's cover story that there are other pirates out there - can you really be the 'king of the pirates' if you haven't gone out to meet them?
what if the fruit blackbeard read about in books isnt actually the yami yami no mi and its actually a zoan type fruit and imu is using it
please... Oda isn't that low to do another hidden devil fruit
I think Imu's fruit is literally the Mythical Zoan type : Devil
that is very true, but yeah the DEVIL fruit actually makes a lot of sense
but i do think it will have at least some connection to the yami yami imo
I think the hidden fruit will be Buggy's. It's the opposite of Luffy's fruit and would serve as a good end game power up to make Buggy competent but still a joke
I don't think there will be another " hidden " devil fruit in a sense that it exist in the DF encyclopedia but is hidden under another name. However, I do think there is unnamed and unmentionned devil's fruit that are kept hidden by the WG. The WG got them and prevent them from leaking into the public by doing a process like Caesar and BB, they transfer them to other DF from ages to ages and kept them under wrap.
Those devils fruit are the most powerful one, and that's probably what mentionned Dolflamingo with the " rotting power ". Eventually the fruits rots away and they need to pass it down to others people. The most dangerous stuff is , for example, a Gurusei facing death and his unique fruit being stolen ( I'm looking at you , Blackbeard )
That's why they wanted the Gomu Gomu. To keep it and prevent it to " resurface " on the world later. but since they never got it, it roams freely on the world every time
That doesn’t look like shiki at all
Ik it doesnt look entirely like him, since the guy in the cover art has shorter hair and all, but the fact that he has long blonde hair and a yellow/orange stripe clothing is very similar to what we have of shiki here. Also Crocus is a doctor after all so he could have removed the steering wheel
It's really hard to say tbh it could be shiki but wouldn't he has a steering wheel in his head. It would have made sense if he went to crocus to be modified but tbh the hat makes me think wano 🤔 wait hold up that cloak
If it was just the hair I would say idk but I think I posted the official coloring . That actually convinces me it is shiki. That's the same cloak
Same sleeves and similar skin color too
what is the point of hiding him though? we already know who he was
If it was shiki Oda would have confirmed it in a SBS because surely he has been asked a bazillion times and it makes no sense to not clarify it if it’s shiki. Then, we have the fact that shiki maybe doesn’t even know who the fuck crocus is, he is someone who traveled during some time with Roger and they probably only fought in edd war which wasn’t one of those roger-wb encounters where they end up in a friendly chat, they were enemies. There is no reason for those two to be happy and together. Not only that, that guy is normal size while shiki is huge, wears a wano style straw hat instead of having a steering wheel in his head. And instead of the huge mane that gives shiki his lion epiteth, he has quite normal hair. That cloak has similar colors to those of shikis clothes? Sure, but that’s literally the only reason to believe it’s shiki. It makes no sense to have him so different from the movie and episode 0. Also, like every movie villain, shiki never appeared in the manga, only in that special episode for the movie, it would be a very weird move to suddenly include him in a cover story with a vastly different look and never clarify on it. I don’t really 100% trust the colors in the colored manga, but even if they were given as instructions by Oda, it’s super strange to have them similar but different to shikis actual color palette if that’s only to be the only way to recognize him. In fact, most of that cover series is someone who has a special relation to a straw hat reacting to the news, I wouldn’t like it to be the rumbar captain, but it makes more sense than shiki.
I mean as much assuming I'm doing your song the exact same. We really don't know and oda literally avoids any questions he's saving. Just because he doesn't answer it in sbs means nothing. He literally picks the question he wants to take 🤣 also the coloring is directly from oda. that's why the manga color is known as canon and robins eyes are brown and not blue like in the anime. So yeah we definitely don't know but I see why someone would assume this is shiki especially sense we have had no other characters match it( tho I have heard people say it could be judge) also things get retcon but really ten years to wait for one character I wouldn't plan on seeing this character again and just chalk it up to being a cameo for shiki 🤷
Man do you seriously think Blackbeard will ally with luffy, for any reason
Why does he have to ally with either of them ?
also blackbeard would probably ally with luffy, luffy hasn't actually done anything to blackbeard it's an extremely onesided beef.
Not really. By awakened you mean third eye people, but I don’t think he’s going to bet on that working. Her devil fruit could get him to Raftel by showing the memories of someone who knows how to get there though.
Like anyone from rogers crew except shanks and buggy
fair point tbh, there are some powers that could force people to tell them as well like Sugar
I think it's unlikely anyone will be able to completely skip the poneglyphs though, that would kindof sidestep the conflict that's been set up for the final saga
It’s a black beard thing to do though. He always takes the easy route
No man not third eye, devil fruit awakening
How so? You would have to assume the fruit’s awakening power
Blackbeard is actually pretty close to "legit" Laugh Tale access if he can awaken pudding (maybe with the help of Gecko Moria's fruit?)
He should have the Zou + Wano ones from beating Law and he could also have the Big Mom one from when he kidnapped Pudding
Blackbeard literally was responsible for Ace getting captured and if he kills shanks also(can be possible it's Blackbeard) then luffy has a reason
he could be in basically the same position as Luffy (just needs the Burn Scar Poneglyph)
Plus i think he knows about the man marked with flames, if shanks knows, Blackbeard sure as hell knows
Even shanks has three poneglyphs, i wonder how Buggy will get the poneglyphs
buggy should know where they all are right
I dont think so cuz i think they were on there way to laugh tale or getting the last poneglyph when shanks and buggy joined but i could be wrong
How
Luffy having reasons to hate blackbeard doesn't make the inverse true.
Did we ever get a payoff for the "captain john's treasure" marker that Buggy got from Luffy in Impel Down?
Man all i know is that Blackbeard will stirr up some weird shit in the final saga
They went to the place but it was just a mine i dont remember the episode but it was shown
That was pre impel down
yeah Buggy failed to find the treasure with a map, but after that he got a marker from Luffy that should actually take him there
John was actually in Rocks' crew which is interesting because two of the other poneglyphs ended up in the hands of former Rocks members
He was looking for clues to the treasure and that was one of the false leads.
Luffy took the armband from Thriller Bark. Since John's corpse was there it seems pretty likely it's legit
Yeah I really hope we get pay off to guys like Captain John, Wang Zhi and Silver Axe
yeah. I think both of those could be more background though, while John's Treasure is something Buggy has been obsessed with since the start
Yeah we should get an explanation of that considering it’s literally the origin of Shanks and Buggy’s beef but it would also feel like a big step down atm.
The treasure including a poneglyph would be a great way to include back into the main story
Random side note I am really thinking the Law Gorosei is a Xiezhi a kinda Chinese Ram/Goat tied to law/justice with a single long horn.
Buggy is a mistery to me atm. Oda got him to be a Yonko there has to be something.
he's usually treated as a joke but he is linked to Shanks and Roger
Well he is a clown though.
Garling's words have big implications about what he feels about Shanks if they are related (according to those who watched Film Red, Shanks and Uta , because of adoption) are part of the figarland family. Garling Figarling's words "Those who protect scum are lower than the scum they protect." would imply that he would look down on Shanks for the following reasons:
Shanks lost his arm, protecting Luffy from a Sea Beast.
Shank's fleet is considered the weakests yonko fleet. This implies they are all mostly just buddies, similar to Luffy's crew and his fleet.
If they reall are part of the same family, I feel like at some point, we going to probably see Shanks and Garling interact and would be quite interesting. I do not believe Shanks is a God Knight, personally.
Was east blue really the weakest sea ? Or was buggy legit gatekeeping ? Tbh Luffy woulda been dead af, if dragon didn't step in
it does seem like the weakest. Looking back on all the pirates crew there, they are like fodder now, even compared to the Beast Pirates generals or whatever those were like the chicken man. And not many of the pirates there had a devil fruit like in the Grand Line and New World.
But it is also ironic considering that the strongest characters comes from there, Luffy, and Shanks. (or maybe I am wrong about shanks)
Do y’all think Blackbeard has three souls?
Better question to ask in either #also-manga or #manga-serious because this channel is intended for long theory discussion rather than brief questions
Shanks was found in God valley in the grand line somewhere , Roger was from east blue
oooh, alright. thanks for clearing that up. So its Luffy and Roger.
Also have to think dragon and garp are also from Goa kingdom in the east blue
yeah, true. that makes sense.
New World > Paradise > everywhere else but I dont know if the other seas have a clear ranking
I think the god valley link to Garland makes it overwhelmingly likely

I believe that Vegapunks "Mother Flame" is simply an energy source.
The WG had the poneglyphs before "Lili's blunder" so I find it highly unlikely that they don't have at least 1 of the Ancient Weapons.
So I think that Uranus is the weapon, however they were unable to use it for a long time but were able using the Mother Flame energy source
The weapon that Imu used was the giant straw hat we saw ages ago and Fishman Island will be targeted at some point
Madame Charlee predicted that straw hat will destroy fishman island but what if it's actually the weapon that Imu used on Lulusia that she saw and just thought it meant it was Luffy
More interesting is why something that emits a laser is called a flame
Heyo remember that this channel is meant for long form, well written and thought out theories like the ones in pinned. The other manga channels are better suited for this type of convo
The Strawhat is not close to large enough to cast a shadow big enough to notice from miles away.
The strawhat might be what controls it somehow, like a bit roller ball
that I could see more but why freeze a control device seems very counterproductive. It is probably just JoyBoys hat you would freeze something to preserve it over time if fragile but water is awful for any form of tech.
@scenic fulcrum @inland cobalt @feral trellis for shorter theories, please use #manga-serious rather than this channel, since we prefer to reserve this channel for in-depth theories similar to the ones in the pins. We have the extra long slow mode here to discourage prolonged conversations so that the channel remains focused on larger theories. People often use #manga-serious for discussion of brief theories or for crafting of larger theories prior to being posted here
kobe is shanks son...
kk look why one time helliboub said to kobe "do u know shanks any way?" and also he made garp make his son marine in back he make his grandson a pirate. and in the same time kobe was gonna get hit shanks appeared "in marine ford" so yeah
Please see my message above yours. Thank you!
Whatever Toki (Oden's wife) was running away from 800 years ago during the void century may have been related to Queen Lili, and might be why Toki, Vivi, and most likely Lili had blue hair. There may be an Alabasta and Wano connection that relates to the monarchies of both lands. Especially with the latest chapter showing Queen Lili being the one to spread the ponyglifs world wide, and the fact they're written in an ancient Wano language. It would seem we're in for some big surprises soon.
It was definitely emphasized that Toki was running away from something or someone during the void century 800 years ago, and I suspect it may have been Imu.
My theory on that subject is:
- The world government captured a bunch of Joyboy supporters, including at least Toki and someone with Kuma's power (or something similar). They also captured the Poneglyphs that they had intended to spread around the world.
- Lili was sympathetic to them. She released them from their shackles, and they were able to scatter the poneglyphs using their powers to kingdoms they knew were friendly. Toki then jumped them all forwards through time to escape from prison.
- This is why what happened to Lili is unknown, and why Imu is unsure whether she was a traitor or just made a mistake - from Imu's perspective it's unclear if Lili deliberately assisted in an escape or was just caught up in it
- It also explains why Imu is so antsy about Vivi - if she looks like Lili then Imu might think she's Lili from the distant past (we know this isn't true, but Imu could easily think it is)
- This could also be why Imu freaked out and felt the need to kill Cobra when he mentioned Lili's name - from Imu's point of view it confirmed their suspicions
- The "D" in her name was a signal people adopted to show they were sympathetic to Joyboy, and that his followers could rely on them to help. Much like the tattoos in Wano. The meaning has been obscured over time, but in the present day it still functions as a signal to time travellers that this person has a brave and adventurous spirit and therefore should be a reliable ally.
Could the person with the paw paw fruit be Kuma himself? He’s definitely got some mysterious past and is from some special race. Z
Oh as in he came from the past? That seems unlikely to me just because Kuma was a king, which suggests he had some kind of birth pedigree that was verifiable in the present day. But it's not impossible
I wouldn’t say it’s 100% likely but he’s one of the most mysterious characters in the series and we have seen kings ascend to the throne through other means like Dalton. I’d say it’s doubtful Kuma was a normal king considering his temperament and being forced out.
true, honestly that's an interesting angle. Given how much he seemed to want to help the Straw Hats and prepare them for what's ahead he does seem to know stuff we currently have no explanation for
If we assume he jumped to the same point as Toki did that would make him 17 years old when he jumped forwards (30 years ago), which is perfectly possible. Also gives him time to have Bonney (24 years old).
Suspect this theory will very quickly be proved right or wrong after the hiatus though, as we should be about to get Kuma's backstory
Misread the initial theory. But I'm still not sure where Lili ended up
awesome theory though, would help tie Toki into all this which would be very much appreciated
Yeah if Lili is actually around in the present day I am not sure where. Will think about if there are any mysterious ~50 year old women it could reasonably be
I'm rewatching Wano now, and am now convinced Toki and Lili are the same person. The anime makes a big show of never showing her face. What really sealed it was seeing Hyori and connecting her hair color with Vivi's.
The scene where Ashura was talking about how exactly Toki knew to send everyone exactly 20 years in the future and not 10 or something in between. Lili/Toki may have been time traveling to protect the poneglyphs and make sure the path to Raftel was protected to destroy the WG.
And would explain why Conra referred to her as missing and wondered where she was the whole time.
wym never showing her face?
Damn that's a hot take if I had ever seen one. I don't think they are the same person, but I believe heavily connected
It's never drawn in detail. Just like Oden's wasn't before the flashbacks.
hes a void creature
