this is really a good one
@proper moat
A wild theory, devil fruits were perhaps some sort of ancient beings who turned themselves into devil fruits, and each turned himself or a part of himself into a df with a specific purpose in mind, like immortality for ope ope, etc. Similarly, other dfs must also have a very unique specific purpose in mind, all pointing towards the same goal
Yah it's kinda wild but hey we also saw how sugar can turn humans into toy, so it's a possibility that some power can convert humans or a part of them into df...
In chapter 1044 Zunesha says joyboy has "returned". Way back in Fishman island we saw his apology letter.
Makes me wonder if the previous joyboy was the owner of the devil fruit or the person himself who changed into a devil fruit. Surely it can't be the owner? If so, why would the owner change himself into joyboy just to write an apology letter & then sign the letter by name "joyboy" instead of his own name. So these two points brought the possibility that df were actually humans or fishmen in the past.
.
Also, not saying morality is a thing in onepiece but emotions are, and this just might be why the df user drowning curse exists, possibly the df beings were fishmen, so the cannibalism was looked down upon and some high power got angry and said "oh NOOO don't turn into df! Be with me etc etc! What?! U won't listen to me?? Grr I'm angry, here, have a curse" 💀 something like this, just more serious...this might explain the apology letter contents too, the joyboy says "sorry i turned our people into df but wat to do this was necessary, hope u understand".
Where’s the original theory please? I searched “ D stands for Don” but not much in terms of long form theory. Is this regarding how it sounds like the awakening of Nika?
Good theories
The DFs weren't people but the will/s , dreams, and ambitions of the previous owners are past through the fruit. Joyboy was likely the or a previous owner before Luffy. To go through everything Joyboy found Laugh Tale (didn't name it though). Fought against the 'WG' (aka the 20 families) likely protecting something, this is a common theory as to how he died before he achieved what he sought to do (next point). Joyboy likely had Poseidon and was trying to use Noah along with the powers of Poseidon to allow the Fishman to live on the surface once again which is their dream and wish. He failed to help them achieve this hence the apology on the poneglyph and this is the only known way to fulfill their dream/ wish. A common theory as to how the DFs were made is the Ancient/ Great Kingdom (common theory is that's where Marījoa now sits) and that is the sunlight tree. The sunlight tree is Eve, so to continue into a deeper theory I suppose someone ate the fruit off the tree and sin/ the devil entered the world hence the name devil fruits.
Oh that's an already thought out theory? Thats amazing how detailed it is...
Also, the Fishman theory reminds me of a certain theory i started watching on YouTube by a person named Morj.
I will check out the details.of this theory, thanks a lot for elaborating!!
Edit: I should remind myself the series is like 30 yrs old so it's quite possible the theories newbies come up with is alr old💀
That came from a bingo card I made in #also-manga that had several theories on what I’d like to see revealed the final saga. Over there, the conversation went into why D could stand Don: #also-manga message
Hey does anybody think Luffy's fruit can be awakened?
Are you an anime-only or a manga reader?
Now that it’s been revealed Devil Fruits are created from people’s desires, maybe the collective desire of people wanting to be free took a step above that and literally created a person. And then once this person (Joy Boy) died, their abilities were ‘reincarnated’ into the Devil Fruit Luffy now possesses.
Perhaps the thousands, if not millions of people lacking freedom’s intense desire to be free created a person in Joy Boy, AKA ‘Sun God Nika’. Which is why the Ancient Kingdom was destroyed. Imu is the Sea’s antithesis to this unnatural
creation born from Desire.
I know it’s a stretch (get it?) but I just had this idea when I read it. Especially with all the talk about Devil Fruits basically being unnatural Evolutions, maybe the intense desire of thousands, if not millions of people could Mutate or even evolve to be ABLE to create a ‘God’ (being Joy Boy, AKA ‘Sun God Nika.’.)
Obviously could be something else, but it sounds cool so 🤷
(My NEW theory for Nika/Joy Boy’s origin)
crack theory time the truth of pluton and the grand and red lines
ok so here goes my theory as we all know tom was the keeper of the plutons blueprints and were lead to believe that he never actually used them however id like to give a theory that he actually did use them for you see plutons true identity is in fact a train. I'm thinking it could of been something similar to the Schwerer Gustav a train cannon that was used in world war 2 but one pieceafied. i think tom could of taken just the train parts of the design and applied them to making the sea train or at least the basic principles of it. (this would also tie into Franky's arc with tom taking a great weapon and turning it into something that can be sued to help the world).
the question to this would be though how would a train run in the one piece world well you see my theory is that trains were more common in the void century and that how the world was far more connected back then. there were 2 train lines that the trains would go through the grand line and the **red line **. part of this is that the magnetic fields in the grand line are actually remnants of train lines or they themselves were how the train like objects that there were in this time moved about.
Can I post a theory based on little hints? I have an idea of what Elbaf will be like.
THEORY: Shanks was trolling the whole time and lied abt the gomu gomu fruit. I think he intended to keep it locked away until the time was right to give it to the next joyboy. HOWEVER, Luffy at the fruit and Shanks decided to test Luffy or better yet entertain his dream to be a pirate so he could fufill the will of Joyboy throught the Nika Nika Fruit
he was probably like "eh if luffy fucks up then ill get rid of him"
EXACTLY
So I think the whole strawhat promise was to see if Luffy would be able to max out the potential of Nikka fruit (basically awaken it) and if he could it would prove he is the next Joyboy who will topple the wg
Thats probably why Shanks sacrificed his arm. To show Luffy that this aint no game, you done did eat an important fruit. You said you wanna be a pirate now prove you can be.
3 Elbaf theories:
I believe that Elbaf is home to both the human giants (based on the Asgardians) and the ancient giants (based on the frost giants). This is based on how Oars Sr died from being frozen with no protective clothing, hinting that the ancient giants live in a cold climate, which does exist on Elbaf with the winter solstice that was mentioned in Big Mom’s flashback. Another idea is that the two Giant tribes have been at war with each other for centuries, which would explain why Elbaf hasn’t taken over the world despite having the strongest army, as the giants are too busy fighting each other. The centuries of war on Elbaf can also explain why Saul dislikes being associated with the island and their culture.
And since Elbaf is established to be an island AFTER Wano, it’s most likely the island where Ace meets and befriends Oars Jr, which would foreshadow an eventual meeting between Oars Jr and Luffy once the Straw Hats finally reach Elbaf, which would once again show Ace’s influence on the plot like with Dressrosa and Wano.
My last theory is that Prince Thor wishes to end the war between giants, causing him to be banished and dishonored as a disgrace to his people by the warmongering King Odin, who would be the main antagonist of the Elbaf arc. This is why Loki is the crown prince, as implied during the Whole Cake Island arc.
Was Oars alive after the war though I dont remeber
I would bet good money that Oar's Jr will be alive and return in the Elbaf arc. Ace meet Oars Jr AFTER visiting Wano because of the kasa.
Ahh so that could be a good theory you got here
Thanks! With Elbaf being based on Norse Mythology, I realized that Oars Jr's giant race can be based on the frost giants.
As Oars Sr died from being a "frosted giant"
Classic Oda 🤣
In the scene where Trebol is telling law how the family was established and how they were showing their dignity to their subordinates, the way the executives bow down to Doflamingo mirrors the way the 5 elders bow to Imu down to the very last detail. Sword in one of their hands, cane in one's hand. It's crazy.
Manga
I was thinking that, since the world government gave nika a fake name. I believe that Luffy assume that it was the gum gum, so he was using rubber based attacks. But as he got more creative through out the story, he tap in to the fruit Ture power joyboy. Soo I believe he still has an awakening he needs to unlock.
The reason devil fruits explode you if you eat more than one is because you're being torn along two evolutionary paths
In my opinion the kid pacifistas have lunarien dns in them because of the wing and the eyes and the white hair
I figured that was implied
You man I solved it
based on VPs theory on the origin of DFs, sounds like nika was the original god who created them through imagination. but now i question some of the DFs out there like kelly funks jacket jacket fruit. who in the world wished they could be an actual jacket??
I believe some of the Fruits were not imagined as they were, but they are the Wish straight interpretation. "What if humans could jump really high?" Spring-Spring Fruit. "What if humans could add to each other's strength?" Jacket-Jacket fruit. "No no, not that way, like raising the strength? Strong-Strong fruit "No, to each other" Pump-Pump fruit.
"what if a guy just wants to simp for this girl while she feelin cold?" jacket jacket fruit
Pluton is a ship of some sort (could be a submarine). I don't know why people keep coming up with theories that it could be something else
My theory is that devil fruits are related to the sun the sun is related to fire and fire is weak to water therefore I think that’s nika sun god controls devil fruits
Uranus is a satellite dish from the ancient kingdom that is powered by the combination of Enel, Kizaru and Kid’s df from the users 800 years ago thats why its an island breaker and its light rays are so potent
I wouldn’t be surprised if Uranus is on the Moon or a Sky Island considering Poseidon being under the ocean and Pluton under a mountain.
I wouldn't be surprised if all three "Weapons" were basically construction tools to terraform the One Piece world.
That would explain the red line and the calm belt dividing the world. The formation looks way too intentional to be natural.
Yeah think about it, how would you go about creating the Red Line.
You need land so you carve out pieces using Uranus the sky drill.
Then you move said pieces using Poseidon the aquatic dumptruck.
Then you shape it to your liking using Pluton the overpowered chisel.
And you leave the rest of the manual labour to minions like the Frost Giants.
Why would you create the Red Line?
My theory is Lunarians are the lifeforms most originally related to the alien race that settled on One Piece world. Red Line is their way of terraforming the world to make everywhere more accessible via a proposed way of transport.
Pluton created the Red Line, Poseidon created the Sea King nests in the calm belt, and Uranus made the erratic weather conditions on the grand line
All security measures by Imu to make it difficult for the anyone to find the One Piece left behind by Joy Boy
I'm wondering why Lucci has this as well
On the one hand, it's likely to parallel Luffy, sorta like the darkness vs light, and the rings around his body look like his leapord spots....but why?
Also
This may semi-confirm the devil fruit theory, that if a concept exists, so does the fruit.
the new thing that vegapunk said about the devil fruit theories has just provided a handy explanation for what was the only missing piece in my theory of one piece's magic system. originally, the conceit is that haki is willpower magic. this is pretty obvious if one just says it like that, but to be more specific about each of the rough categories:
busoshoku is the enforcement of one's will on one's own self, to provide armament
kenbunshoku is the ability to sense the wills of others, from varying distances and various lengths into the future
haoshoku is the ability to impose one's own, necessarily strong will on others
other phenomena can also be explained in this manner, such as diable jambe (sanji manifesting his fiery passion), ashura (zoro manifesting his killing intent), and the voice of all things (a sort of specific frequency of kenbun that allows the detection of similar/inherited wills). previously, the only gap in this explanation of one piece's inner workings was devil fruits. however, we now have the smartest known character in the series voicing his theory that devil fruits are the manifestation of humanity's collective notion of "what if?"
not only is this an interesting way to think about them, it fits right into the system i had already been in the latter stages of laying out before this chapter. does it not make sense that one of the most formidable powers on the sea, which in fact interacts with haki, would be created by the strong and fundamental collective desire for realized possibility?
(if there are any flaws you see here i would be happy to hear them, this new aspect has made the theory even more of a work in progress than it was)
Saying devil fruits are a result of collective wills may be true, but isn't there too many gaps in between? It's like saying humans evolved from amoeba, which may be true and understandable, but there are too many intermediary stages of evolution (which definitely wasn't linear) that led to modern day humans.
It has also been suggested that no new devil fruits were created since the Void Century. If your theory that devil fruits are a result of collective wills, then why aren't there new fruits created as a natural process of the world. For example, why isn't there a Dial Dial Fruit stemming from the collective wills of more people knowing about the technology of dials.
I'd like to believe that the process of devil fruits are indeed manmade and not too different from the process derived by Vegapunk. It is the culmination of at least the following:
- Fruit from a tree
- Water with extracted Lineage Factors
- Sunlight
It is possible that Sunlight Tree Eve was the farming site for devil fruit manufacture, sending sunlight down to the sea floor where devil fruits are incubated and kept dormant by the sea's effect so it doesn't warp out of the "farm".
as for the first point, i think the idea is that the only creatures with strong enough wills are sapient
as for the second, that's a good point and i hadn't considered it
the third seems to not account for devil fruits continuing to exist after the user dies and not having duplicates (save for vegapunk's artificial one), a property which would seem to support a less scientific origin
Oda loves his religion/ mythology though. It's why I think the sunlight tree was part of the GK/ AK where Marijoea sits now. Since Eve at the fruit off the tree in many religions and sin/ evil entered the world, wouldn't it make sense for the devil fruits to be created that way? Could that be the reason why the WG destroyed it as well as they were so technologically advanced?
after looking at a list of devil fruit powers, it seems like there are aspects of technology present in devil fruit powers but the most advanced would be simple machines like hinges, wheels, or springs. this could suggest that the ideas need to be ingrained into people's collective brains as aspects of life that could be added onto people in order for the will to be strong enough to create a devil fruit. if you're talking about specifically a dial-dial fruit, the issue to me seems to be that there's no general dial. they're all just tools that do other things like produce heat, flame, or light, which there are already devil fruits for
The Adam tree is the strongest wood in One Piece (and it could be the 2nd entrance to Skypiea) so The Eve tree could be what created the devil fruits but also as we know provides sunlight to FMI.
i suppose if we take that as true that would provide an explanation for the lack of new fruits
Although the fruits can evolve since the owners dream, wish/ aspiration changes from user to user. Some fruits can even call their next owner (like the gomu gomu no mi potentially did with Luffy) or even Ace's fruit did with Sabo because it's known fruits can 'call out' to people.
Further to my point of devil fruits being a product of manufacture
1: What if the vibrancy in One Piece world is a result of a space-faring civilisation finding an ideal planet with multiple biomes due to the landmass broken up into different islands. Lineage Factors can be extracted more richly from having multiple sapient lifeforms evolving from different perspectives.
2: If the devil fruits are indeed a result of technology, and this technology was lost due to conflict happening around the timeline of the Void Century, it would explain why there may be no new devil fruits generated after that.
3: Perhaps a hint here would be Blackbeard's iconic quote: "People's dreams... never die!" As one of the ingredients for devil fruit manufacture - the extracted desirable portions of the Lineage Factor - could be referred to as the culmination of desires in various sapient lifeforms. This extracted ingredient (SAD in modern day terms) could be construed as distilled desire, crystallising in a devil fruit. The person ingesting the devil fruit has a permanently changed Lineage Factor. The death of this person doesn't diminish the concentration of the distilled desire and still results in the next devil fruit.
the first one is certainly an interesting thought. lacking further evidence, i think i'll revise my stance on devil fruits to be that they are created, artificially or not, as embodiments of desires for realized possibility. i'm not willing to go so far as to say that a spacefaring civilization colonized and terraformed the world of one piece, but i do recognize that as a prominent idea floating around so it's certainly possible. i'll still just stick with my stuff that i'm pretty concretely sure about though
I think the reason why Luffy's fruit isn't in the encyclopedia of devil fruits is because it is the FIRST Devil Fruit, aka the first desire of human evolution that desired to be FREE. The theme in one piece has always been "Slaves, liberation, rebellion, etc." but the slave part really sticks it to you about the 20 countries that fought over the ancient kingdom. This could be particularly why Luffy is so cartoony for his awakening because it's the most free form way and desire "Joy Boy" had when he made this fruit as the prototype for all devil fruits. This could explain why Luffy's fruit doesn't really fit just one but all three types of devil fruits. And I think Oda made Luffy's 5th gear white because it's the most free color that is void of any color and also the only color that is the default of any cartoon/manga/etc. When you look at the sky, you see white clouds and think to yourself, "how can you be so light in weight yet so high in the air, free from the ground?" Just my opinion
When BB said that, it made me realized why Joyboy didn't die...because his dream was manufactured as the FIRST devil fruit and to only be awakened by the one who carries his will.
If we were to theorycraft the extraction of Lineage Factor for the purposes of manufacturing devil fruits...
Zoan-type seems to be the easiest to extract, evidenced by Vegapunk's reverse engineering of the Seiryu fruit. You simply have to extract the essence of a leopard or elephant.
Outside of that, the other types seems to require splicing of traits of various lifeforms for paramecia and logia type fruits. For Mera Mera, you might splice Lunarian flames + Flame Beetle (Strong World) + Dragon, etc..
On ancient zoans, these may be extracted Lineage Factor of fossils.
On the subject of mythical zoans, these seem to be the most difficult to extract as by definition they don't exist in the world. So it suggests that there needs to be some technique to extract memories/will from the Lineage Factor of humans.
Based on this, I would propose that Nika fruit is one of the last fruits (if not the last) manufactured as a culmination of devil fruit technology.
Luffy’s fruit is in the encyclopedia. The gomu gomu no mi isn’t which is the ‘fake’ name for the fruit
No, neither of Luffy's fruit name is in the encyclopedia. The "Gomu Gomu" doesn't exist in the first place, and the since the Sun God Nika has been scratched from history, his fruit would not appear in it.
During Franky flashback in ch358, after he "died", he found an abandoned ship, and he uses the parts he found on that ship to make his cyborg body.
What if it was the same ship as the MADS ship.
While it looks similar it would make little sense for Oda to redesign it, specially to look so goofy.
Also, franky is the same age as Caesar, unless Caesar entered Mads very young it doesn’t fit.
did roger ever actually say that the one piece was in laughtale? what if its somewhere else?
if this is right, we'll be waiting for another thousand chapters
I think at this point all the major mysteries have been cracked, except for "Where/What is the One Piece?" and "Who is Im?"
The theory that "D" stands for a group of people (joyboy's friends, royal guards of the old kingdom, survivors etc.) and the people bearing their initial being their descendants (biologically, not ideologically) is a given at this point
All of my ideas for what the One Piece actually is have major plot holes though... is it "the story of the world", "the power source", "a place where time travelers from the past will show up soon"...? What is the consensus around here?

Apologies, when I said "cracked", I don't mean revealed in the story, just that there are satisfying answers (theories) that are so well thought out that they are basically headcanon, just waiting to become true
For example, the ancient kingdom is now revealed to be technologically superior and the OP world is basically post-apocalyptic, which revealed a huge mystery of the backstory (including Uranus being a flying (space)ship, etc.). However, the One Piece... what is it? If it's something very valuable, why didn't Roger or his crew take it or try to make use of it? Why did he want to encourage piracy in general?
I think the one piece is just something so important from ancient times that the government didn’t want anyone finding it at this point cause they seem to be wiping things from existence a lot recently
That's the most likely scenario, but that also has so many plot holes, such as: Why doesn't the WG eliminate the OP? Does she WG know about it? Is it something indestructible? Somewhere hard to access?
It would be somewhere hard to access if roger has been the only person we know of to lead a crew to have found it
So egghead and sabaody are very common with kuma and kuzan on the way. While Luffy is very strong he’s not strong enough to protect his whole crew against the enemy forces, so kuma is going to sacrifice himself to get the crew to the top of the island.
This and the disappearance of Sabo is going to send the revolutionaries into a full assault on the WG. Luffy and co. are going to go from egghead straight to elbaf where they will get the last ponegliph and briefly meet with Shanks who will tell them what blackbeard has done with Koby and Law sending luffy into an outrage. This and the revolutionaries will trigger the next war. This war will destory the redline, marijoa, and fishman island. Hence creating the all-blue and realizing luffy’s true dream of giving everybody freedom.
there was the theory that laser tech for the pacifistas weren't just modelled after BUT genetically replicated from Kizaru
Upon reading the newest chapter I have a small theory which Luffy may not be able to awaken his devil fruit if he does not truly enjoy himself or find Joy within the moment so he may just revert back if he's not enjoying himself or truly free
Thanks for being patient. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this mega-theory and pondering its implications. I've had to do a little research and some rereading to better cement these ideas you've brought up, so here's a summary of the larger points you were making and my thoughts on them (Btw this won't use 1069 as much just yet since I'm trying to process that chapter):
1. The AK's Coveted Resource - Seastone: You're absolutely right, the AK do not need to be philanthropists, which explains why there are irregularities in the distribution of knowledge; They arrived on Vearth to capitalize one of its natural resources. However, it is difficult for me to agree that seastones was the target resource. Rather, it makes more sense to me that Mt Fuji's magma is the resource that the AK want to collect.
Pyrobloin is a pretty versatile substance. In ch240, Pagaya tells us about the particle Keratin (which supposedly has Pyrobloin) that is responsible for the creation of two things: the White Sea and Sky Islands. Depending on what Pyrobloin reacts with (in this case, level of moisture), it can create something that either mimics the sea itself or makes an innocuous cloud-like island, respectively. Also, assuming Mt Fuji is pivotal for Wano's manufacturing of seastone, I believe Mt Fuji's magma, which is rich with Pyrobloin, is the real resource that the AK wanted to collect. In addition, since the Kozuki clan are known as a clan of stonemasons and we know that Pyrobloin can make more than seastones, I'm starting to believe that Pyrobloin is just as critical for making Poneglyphs as well. To sum, I believe the AK specifically needed Pyrobloin to make all kinds of futuristic technologies, which included their "endless power source".
2. The Lost Technology: I think the examples you brought up were completely on point, especially Dr. Tsukimi's automata technology. I disagree with your Skypiea example since bazookas could have come from ships that accidentally (or on purpose) made it up there and never came down. Additionally, in Thriller Bark, Brook revelaed that he had a tone dial but said that he bought it form a "merchant's ship", which if taken literally, means he got this dial from the blue sea. You could say Skypiea was sufficiently isolated at first but over time intermingled with people from the blue sea, which explains why Pagaya and Conis weren't fazed when they first met the SHs. Anyway, Pudding's df, the lack of flying ships, and the lack of technological advancements in Zou/Wano all made sense. The best way to control a population is limit the information/knowledge they have.
3. AK Theory: Your outline on the AK's timeline is pretty damn solid. I'm sure the AK's technological marvels were used as soft power to put pressure on islands that still endorsed slavery. They must have swayed public opinion to their favor and focused on the masses instead of the few in power. Mort importantly, I love the idea that a false flag operation occurred in Alabasta to tie all these big players together. I don't think any of this is shaky at all.
The only issue I have is understanding Imu's motivation throughout this timeline. Why do you think Imu helped the 20 kingdoms? Why did they want to hold the planet hostage? Was Imu originally a part of the AK? Did they come from the sun?
4. The Third Faction: This is probably my favorite part of your theory. The idea that the sea is sentient and Poseidon is the custodian of the planet magnifies the weight of the Sea Kings' statement about the two rulers. These sea kings have possibly been around for hundreds of years and are more aware of the truth because they actually lived it. This also means that the second ruler they were talking about is possibly unrelated to the ancient weapons (assuming they hate the AK). This kind of sheds a new light on the purpose of the red line as well...I just can't put my finger on what could be underneath/inside it. Overall, the idea that there is another superpower that have their own motivations this late in the story is both mind-boggling and exciting at the same time.
5. AK are from the Sun: What greater ending is there other than the entire solar system aligning itself for Luffy's dream? That would honestly be majestic. Side note, having the AK flee to the endless energy source of OP's solar system is kind of ironic lol. Whatever it takes to get an eclipse in the OP world. As for the portal....I'm on the fence. The AK being from the sun is really 'out there' and if they return, I'm not sure what role they'd serve if they returned to Vearth. Would they recreate their utopia?
That's it for me. Like you said, there are some unresolved plot points (e.g. the various world trees, the red line's purpose, the AK's home planet, etc.). Regardless, I think the themes/ideas and timelines you have here are really well thought out and adds more nuance to this story. For the life of me I don't understand why you haven't pinned this yet!
Bad theory but I was watching Ohara and he said hito = 1 and luffys fruit (just in case a spoiler is coming up) is the hito hito no mi model Nika, 2 hito so what if luffys final bounty is gonna be 11 billion?
well I've seen that theory about how Oda puts a lot of 56 for Luffy, shirt, his fruit Go-Mu and about how his bounty may be 5.6 billion, just a bit above roger's, so idk
this aged quite well, about vega having long head
Most people think that the war will be a fight between BB Marine and the world gov. But I believe that the fights will happen all separately. We know that kizaru is being sent to egg head I dont think he will die but he will be defeated. I think that the rev will defeat the gorosei but imu will not be defeated by the rev. Now the only ones left are BB Imu akainu greenbull and fujitora. I really do think that there will be a arc before luffy becomes pirate king that will have akinu and green bull defeated, notice how i did not say fujitora i think he will help luffy. Now BB and imu are left this is where i am 100% sure about this, Luffy will defeat black beard and become pirate king then he will go off to kill imu and free the world
Even if Lucci had the worst devil fruit ever. If he trains his haki like Gold Roger he can be strong asf
Ppl making fun of lucci being a normal zoan. Literally a guy without devil fruit conquered everything.
Luffy is gonna fight kizaru and win, while the other straw hats engage the cp0, i think this way simply coz the last time kizaru was there, straw hats couldn't stand a chance. Now that whole situation is repeating, the only reason for situations like this in mangas usually to give a different outcome
Oda always surprised with a different outcome, I'm looking forward to how this one will change XD
Not much of a theory here but I forgot who but someone mentioned a rocket in the newest chapter so maybe strawhats in space???
Luffy when he awakens his fruit he becomes gear 5 or Nika. there is white smoke around him, The same around rob Lucci and Yamato. I believe this smoke is the will of the zoan leaking out of the body. We know that a zoan awakening brings the true personality of the zoan to life that's why it's harder to control yourself when you are in the awakened form. You might think that Kaidou has an awakened fruit but does not have the smoke, that's because I believe that Kaidou's zoan fruit is not a good fit for him. Kaidou does not want to become the strongest ever all he wants to do is die, which is not qualities of his fruit. His fruit is the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu which is one of the strongest fruits. Now to get back to what I am saying if you awaken your zoan and it matches your personality you will get smoke around you but if you get a fruit that does not match you there will be no smoke
Luffys awakening of his DF in gear 5, it’s said it’s his zoan form which is easy to transform to gear 5 which uses less haki and gives him more agility , durability in the battle field and many more advantages!! Does that actually mean it’s the end of gear 4 which uses huge amount of haki and makes luffy weak after sometime and have to wait for 10 mins to recharge haki in the middle of a serious battle ?
yes
!theories
@weak brook shorter ideas like the one you brought up are better put in #manga-serious unless you’re prepared to elaborate and give more evidence/reasoning for your space idea
@astral cove whimsical one-line theories without any evidence/reasoning is generally frowned upon here. If you have evidence to your theory, please repost with those details. Otherwise, feel free to repost it in #manga as-is
@pure raven This isn’t a the right channel for casual OP-related Twitter posts. Please use #manga instead
@errant nova really interesting observation, it’ll probably be more appreciated in #manga-serious since it’s not a full-fledged theory yet
@hard bramble as I’ve mentioned to others, theories in this channel must have evidence/reasoning to back up its premise, even headcannon ones. Please elaborate and provide those details or feel free to use #manga instead
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. Okay.
Sorry.
No worries, you’re welcome to edit your original post anytime.
the beginning part of the theory sounds good but the ending you said how red line is gonna break doesnt feel like a thing that will happen.
Joyboy and Nika theory: its kinda short but basically, i think the question of what their association is, is that the Joyboy from 800 years ago (aka OG Joyboy, WOO WOO!) WAS Nika. We can tell that Joyboy isnt a single person, its more of a title. we can distinguish that this is the case because of luffy being the "new" Joyboy. It was said that Nika was a friend to slaves and that he would bring smiles to peoples faces when they saw him. In my opinion that kinda matches up with what Joyboy does, with his "treasure" bringing smiles and laughs to all who saw it. Now, zoan type fruits are based off of historical things, like Buddha's and Dinosaurs, etc... and in my eyes 800 years ago definitely seems like enough time to be concidered "history". So in conclusion, Joyboy = Nika and Apples = Oranges.

Yes, he did, Joyboy left treasure there as did Roger.
He left everything he had in " one piece, go "there" and find it.
Don't believe he explicitly mentions laugh tale but the people who know his arc would assume that's where it is
dragon is the weilder of the ancient weopon uranus: for example it isent a devil fruit cause he was able to swim to rescue sabo, its a weopon of mass destruction: being able to create strong winds, and conjure thunder and rain clouds. uranus was the god of the sky afterall and all dragons natural disasters seem to come from the sky or the air. so i believe thats some solid proof. do you agree
Since gear 5 is a state of Luffy’s devil fruit, and gear 4 isn’t, because he has to do his whole transformation into gear 4 with the drawback, then when will we see Luffy bite his arm and use gear 4 while in the form of gear 5?
And would that be his gear 6?
It’s possible but I think it’s prob smth that he can just do. Like g5. Can just replicate it without having to do the whole g4 transformation process
You are right but everything points to Laugh Tale since that makes the most sense to leave the treasure there. Logically speaking it’s really the only island that’s been ‘untouched.’
Are there theories why Roger didn't take it? Or did i miss this?
It wasn't time yet, whatever is on laugh tale won't do what's its supposed to until right now. ( or 20 years after roger)
He's supposedly "too early", most likely you need 3 ancient weapons and joyboy himself/person with nika fruit to use one piece.
The reason I don't believe that you need the three ancient weapons: they are totally different. One is an inherited power, the other is most likely a spaceship, the other a ship. There is nothing uniting them beyond the period when they come from, no obvious way to fit them all together. Another argument against that is that none of Roger's crew tries to go after the ancient weapons after Laugh Tale
blackbeard knew luffy was nika the entire time because he had the old fruit encyclopedia
I think its a mistake to say "If it isn't obvious, it can't be true". Not being able to fit all the pieces together conceptually based on the information we have does not mean the pieces won't fit together more logically with more information. There are still a great deal of unanswered questions, and without those answers, it is difficult to dismiss.
That wouldn’t add up. The wg changed it, also the reason why they even changed to the gomu bc the base fruit acts just like it. So bb would have no reason to doubt it’s the gomu. Also don’t you think he would steal the fruit? Why wait all this time to fight a super Luffy when you can fight the weaker one
I just had a thought...
So... peoples dreams bring results..
People in slavery wish for freedom which brings Nika.
You'd think the elders would know this and abolish slavery so Nika never returns...
Would removing slavery end nika's mission and would he still reincarnate as a result?
VP stated in a recent chapter that the Gomu Gomu no mi doesn’t appear in that book at all IIRC
idk blackbeard has his own designs. at one point he did consider getting rid of luffy, but used ace instead.
it might actually serve blackbeards interests to have someone else super powerful and on a loose hinge ready to act chaotically like luffy. it weakens the WG a considerable amount and there may be a greater design to his plans.
Yea I was thinking about this. I think its part of the WG's efforts to mask the existence of Nika and the fruit. They made sure to never record its existence at all. In relatively recent years (~10-20 years before start of series?) the WG finally got a hold of the fruit, and thats when they dubbed it the Gum Gum Fruit to hide its true abilities.
This leading to the Shanks/Who’s Who incident you’re referring to?
yup, thats what i meant by WG getting hold of fruit
Recently, I saw a Zoro theory that sorta blew my mind.
I dont necessarily agree with it, but I'd like to share it here and see opinions on it.
We all know Zoro has a shit sense of direction. He constantly gets lost. But what if Zoro's sense of direction leads to Laughtale, making him a Eternal Log Pose?
Personally, I just think he has this trait for gags but it's a interesting theory...
So if the Gomu Gomu no Mi wasn't listed as such in the book of devil fruits how come Sanji never mentioned it as he read that book as we learned in Thriller Bark?
I believe VP was talking about the "old df encyclopedia". Which implies there is a new version that is different in some way. Sanji was probably reading the new version that was likely changed by the WG or someone. Also this question is better for one of the other manga channels
What if Joy Boy created devil fruits?
Many Wano users, including most notably Toki, refer to "powers" instead of fruits, indicating these powers were not always in fruit form. They might have been hyper advanced ancient kingdom tech.
We know Joy Boy had awakened Nika's powers and had failed to presumably save the ancient kingdom during the void century, leaving behind a trail of treasures to bring it back to life.
What if he used the sun God powers of imagination to trap the essence of these inventions into fruits that would eternally reappear, thus preserving them. These would be let loose in the world, knowing that eventually their secrets would be discovered by someone like VegaPunk.
In other words, the Kozuki wrote history down on permanent relics, and the joy boy faction cartoonishly encoded high tech into the lineage factor of some fruits
If only someone had asked people like Kin why how exactly he got his powers, we might have gotten a glimpse at ancient high tech earlier
Roger was too early for Joyboy because he knew Joyboy would turn the world on it’s head and use the 3 ancient weapons to fulfill the wish of the Fishman, destroy the Red Line and there’s one other thing either i can’t remember or don’t know
I doubt Joyboy created the DFs because he already had a fruit so it occurred before him.

He had Nika's powers, unclear if he got them from a fruit. But yeah, another option would be that a previous user of this power turned them into fruits. The core of the idea is that these fruits were not always in that form (many hints towards that) and that Nika's powers with imagination could have been what transformed them, given that it preserves them in a way, which seems to be the will of Joy Boy at the end of the void century
In fact i would add the D initial as a third and final "legacy" from the ancient kingdom along with Poneglyphs and Devil Fruits. But just like for DF, it's not clear whether they already existed before the void or if they were created specifically for the purpose of preserving the legacy of the AK.
The will of D does seem more abstract than the other two though and, if it's in anyway technological (which i don't think it is), it'd be something like lineage factor software. I personally think it's more on the magic side of things, related to Haki.
These three legacies from the AK could also match up with the ancient weapons in some way. Maybe one needs the haki of a D., another requires a DF, and Poneglyphs give instructions on how to use the last one.
It would be a nice way to tie this all up with Luffy and BB at the center
Also ties into the first line: "wealth (DF = treasure), fame (conq haki), power (information from glyphs is power) ..."
This is why I'm confident on the Eve tree theory. The fruits 'evolved' via the owner's dreams/ wishes and ambitions,
Someone, a long time ago, wished for pirates' dreams to never die. That Blackbeard panel in Jaya definitely foreshadows this.
And yeah i agree it does feel like a sacred tree should be involved with the fruits: maybe the tree always gave soul -embued fruits that "never died" and someone found a way to infuse the essence of advanced technologies into them to create the hybrid we know as devil fruits.
In one piece all of the characters are actually alternate versions of the same person which is zoro. Each character represents a different personality trait or aspect of zoro's psyche, and their adventures and conflicts reflect the internal struggles and growth for zoro. The ultimate goal of the series is for him to reconcile and integrate all of their conflicting aspects into a harmonious whole, ultimately achieving self-actualization and enlightenment. The "One Piece" is zoro's true, fully-realized self. why do you think he comes in the story so soon? he makes up luffy as someone to look up to because he can't rely on himself
also the true villain of One Piece (imu) is actually the narrator. Imu has been manipulating the story and actions of the characters all along, using their desires and motivations to further their own agenda. The ultimate goal of the narrator is to merge the real world with the world of One Piece, creating a utopia where they have complete control over everything. their just using luffy as a distraction
Do you still have any of what you injected in your eyeballs before typing that? If yes, can I have some?
Oh wow, that makes so much sense even though it is a tiny detail. I think that someone ate a fruit, then sin (the inability to swim after eating one) entered the world. This caused the mutation of the DFs. I don't think the ancient technology has anything to do with the fruit themselves but it has something to do with Ceasar trying to make the artificial SMILE fruit and failing every time and the investigating VP has done on them too.
@analog sun what a weird backhanded comment. If you have constructive criticism, feel free bring it up. But don’t be rude to people who took time to write their theory out, regardless of your stance on it.
@lucid needle @merry fractal please use #manga-serious for general thoughts/guesses you have about the series.
The Great Kingdom was a great and powerful kingdom that was destroyed by the Twenty Kingdoms... The Great Kingdom was an advanced technological culture and Gods of diverse powers like folklore were in command of this kingdom. The Great Kingdom fell when IMU one of the gods of The Great Kingdom devised a plan with the 20 kingdoms to overthrow The Great Kingdom and in return they'll become celestial dragons and their family will forever be regarded as god's themselves... Imu betrayed Joy-Boy the great king that ruled over The Great Kingdom who brought joy and laugh's and great tales, and either Joyboy or Imu put the god's souls into fruit to be used.. Desire to liberate everyone from the world government and imu's power and to bring joy and laugh's and great tales to the world again
It was never meant as some kind of backhanded compliment but a humorous way of saying the theory is "out there". The reaction emojis to both the theory and my comment confirm that most people interpreted it that way.
If this issue is about the attempt at humor instead of just factually stating "this theory is out there", then point taken; I'll avoid that in the future.
Yeah, it’s moreso how the humor may come off negatively on the receiving end. I understand that you didn’t mean for it to be interpreted that way, it happens. That’s why staying factual and keeping any criticism constructive helps foster better discussions here and doesn’t discourage people from posting their theories. Anyway, thanks for understanding
Hey I'm sorry for my previous response to your theory that read like I was mocking you. I only meant to say your theory is out there, but I don't really have any specific comments for or against it.
It's a lot wilder than the theory I had just posted (one of my most boring ones) and I love posting "out there" theories myself, so I was only half joking when I said I wanted some of your inspiration 🤟
Don't apologize your comment made me laugh
Now that we know, that DF's are created by Dreams and Desires of the people, might it be that the "D" actually stands for Dream/Desire? And the D Clan were people that created the DF's with their wishes
The scan translations didn't word Vegapunks words correctly it apparently meant the dreams and desires of the ones who created devil fruits, so I've heard
I wouldn't say it is "known" at this point. It really sounded like VP was just posting here and sharing his theory rather than a grand reveal of how DFs work.
Here is the viz translated panel. It is not conclusive by any means IMO
How do you think this relates to Oda's quote (from a while back) about how we'll learn the truth about DF from a certain professor?
We all assumed it was VP, but do you think this means we'll have another scholar (resurrected Clover?) give the truth?
Or maybe Oda changed his mind about VP delivering that lore and his quote is no longer relevant?
It could mean a variety of things, but if Oda specified professor, I think its worth pointing out VP is not a professor. VP could finish his research while with the straw hats. All sorts of possibilities.
Wasn't he referred to as a professor back when we first hear about him on Drum Island? I always interpreted it as a loose translation that has since been standardized, but it's hazy.
I really love the idea of VP finding the truth with the Strawhats though! That'd be worth scrapping an off-hand comment over for sure
Since zoan awakening overwhelm users mind, yall think that luffy's awakening is affecting his mind by alot since he's acting strangely ? I think if this is true, once he has 100% control he will be way way stronger
I think if you re-read/watch, you'll see a lot of moments where Luffy is goofy and care free while dancing around dangerous situations. Against Kaido, Luffy gave the impression of being a goof ball, but he was also strategic and determined, taking enormous damage for the sake of lining up a guaranteed hit with Bajrang Gun. And since Luffy says it is when he is entirely free, if anything, it is when Luffy is fully in the zone. I don't see it as him being replaced so much as him being a more intense version of who he is.
Luffy will not die why because he hates cherry pie. At first it seems too simple still the cherry as a fruit stands for beauty and transience. Since bb loves cherry pies what was he after the last time the only devil fruit which represents beauty so and you will agree that he will lose the battle against luffy. Since luffy never was interested in the beauty of Hancock it seems to represent the cherry pie which luffy declared to hate. And so he will stay till the end and will not die. What do you mean?
It still intrigues me a little too find out why did Luffy look like he was melting right before the first G5... It could have just been a style Oda chose to diverge from quickly, but still love the theory that it had to do with the Strawhat taking control of his body.
In particular there was an awesome theory that Luffy did only have the Gomu Gomu and the hat had the mythical powers. It's pretty much debunked at this point, but it was so cool...
Now that we've seen him in G5 twice i agree he seems mostly in control/sync with the soul of the fruit. But maybe it's not trivial and that's why Chopper had trouble on monster point before the time skip
Any theories on robins fruit? Im caught up in the manga but I just watched the newest one piece episode so it got me thinking about it again
Looking at this image now that we have 2 confirmed awakened zoans ig they get that lil ring motif which I wish I could remember the name but that's really interesting I wonder if any specific designs will follow for awakened logia since they are also formulaic like zoans
@solar grotto interesting thought, please use #manga-serious for open-ended questions like that since it isn't really a theory.
I have this not very well developed theory about every person with the will of D being a descendant of Joyboys crew, and that the reason he never fulfilled his promise is because he was betrayed by someone for selfish reasons, likely whoever Blackbeard or Xebec is descended from. The D could just stand for Demon/Devil because the crew was anti government/celestial dragon, but could also relate to the Davy Back theory of the original Davy back fight being between Joyboy and maybe Imu. Davy himself was actually part of Joyboys crew, maybe a whale similar to how Brooks crew had Laboon, and they were literally trying to get Davy back. Anyway, that part of the theory is not mine, it’s just what the will of D part is loosely based on.
As far as lineage, assuming dragon is actually garps direct descendant, we know of 4 different lines of the will of D - Garp to luffy, Blackbeard, roger/ace, and Law, and Saul. I am personally of the belief that Black beard is related to xebec, which is why I didn’t include him. Either way, most people agree that we don’t know every single person with the will of D yet. I think it would be interesting if Joyboys crew mirrored Luffys, in that they ended up having 10 members. However, if this was true, it would also increase the likelihood of on of the straw hats betraying the crew astronomically, which is the only thing that makes me second guess… because I don’t want that to happen. Since we know that there will be a big final war, it would be interesting if that final war was a fight between the WG and everyone with D, but with Blackbeard fighting against everyone else. Given how the only reason Garp didn’t literally murder Akainu in marineford was Sengoku holding him back, I really just don’t see him fighting for the navy/WG this time around. In my opinion, he will either get injured/die, or fight with luffy. Dragon has every reason to fight the WG. Law will fight with luffy, don’t have a good reason why. Luffy inherited Roger/Aces will, so that’s that base covered. We know the straw hats are gonna go to elbaph, and that Saul is alive and hates the WG, so he would fight with them. As far as any other descendants, we either haven’t met them, or they are smart enough to hide their names. Like I said, not very well developed, but please feel free to give me thoughts, debase, or support!
I have an interesting theory about the void century and will of D that could maybe add on to this. A not very developed theory I thought of in ~20 minutes while in the shower:
Nika was a Lunarian that (very much like the celestial dragons) was a god of the world. But the 20 kings that made the world government—which were likely pirates— rebelled against the gods, forming the WG. During the fight of the soon-to-be WG, something damaged Nika fatally or at least stopped Nika’s ability to fight. Due to this, the gods had to develop a system to keep Nika’s will to eventually overthrow the world government. This is when the first devil fruit, the Hito Hito model Nika was created. I believe that this is also responsible for the fact that Zoans have a will of their own while other fruits don’t (either because they are “knock-offs” of Nika’s fruit or because they don’t have they don’t have wills incorporated into their type). When the WG won, the only remnant of the gods were the devil fruits they created (the invention of the DF may have been hidden from the WG at the time). The WG then wiped Nika’s name from history and killed anyone still loyal to him or the gods, I think that the giants were targeted for this the most since they have the longest lifespans and therefore more giants remember them, I also believe that this is why giants are only native to Elbaf.
The important thing, however, is that I believe that Joyboy himself was a Giant (since the locked straw hat is so large) and actually had knowledge to Nika unknown to the WG, which forced him to become a pirate because then he would be able to escape them and form another rebellion in the form of a pirate crew.
These pirates would then be called the “Dawn” pirates which would lead the world to dawn. While everyone else in the world had forgotten Nika or had been silenced for the knowledge of Nika, Joyboy would remind everyone of hope.
He was able to get his hands on the Gum-Gum Fruit and then Awaken it into the Nika Fruit.
Since Joyboy had untold knowledge of Nika, he would tell this to his pirate crew, who all sequentially inherited the initial D, signifying the family that would bring upon the dawn of the world. I think it’s also possible that the crew started developing their own devil fruits as well, but I’m not sure how they would acquire the knowledge to do so. Anyway, the would fight the WG, but eventually lose, breaking promises around the world (including the promise on Fishman Island) I think that Joyboy isn’t his real name, but instead an alias given to his transformation which cannot stop laughing (as we can see in gear 5). Since this was called Joyboy, I believe that the two are one in the same, which is why Zunesha says “Joyboy has returned!” Not the person that was behind the entire rebellion during the void century, but the concept of Joyboy. This makes me believe that Gear 5, Joyboy, and Nika are the same thing despite being three entirely different people.
Since Joyboy lost, this means that the WG now had knowledge of devil fruits and especially the Nika fruit, which caused them to once again wipe out the name Nika along with the name Joyboy while also gaining the Ope Ope no mi and performing the eternal youth operation on Imu (probably the same person which betrayed Joyboy and would go on to form the Xebec or Blackbeard bloodline). Joyboy is probably shortened to JB which can be the initials of the person behind the name Joyboy.
This next part is highly speculative, but I haven’t heard it anywhere else, but I think it could be something major. While I don’t know what the “J” in JB could be, I think that the “B” stands for “Binks.” The same “Binks” in the song “binkusu no sake.” If you pay attention to the lyrics of the song, it seems like it is a direct mirror of Joyboy’s personality and ideals, with the beginning of the song being humble beginnings (much like the East Blue saga), the middle being the fight that they were fighting throughout the void century, and the ending being their loss.
I like that last part, gonna go over analyze binks sake now
I could dm you some of my personal meanings if you want, or I could just send them here
please share
Send them here!
Ok so the first verse doesn’t have any meaning that I can decipher, it just seems like normal pirate stuff but you can dig in to it if you want.
The second verse starts with 「我ら海賊 海割ってく」Which directly translates to “We pirates divide the sea.” The kanji 「割」translates to divide/split or it can mean “to cross a line.” While pirates don’t normally act friendly, this song seems more hopeful than normal pirate life as I’ll discuss later, but since this song is so old (assuming it originated in the void century), then this could be a crew challenging the norm of the world, much like the Straw Hat Crew throughout the grand line.
Next, 「波がおどるよ ドラムならせ」Which translates to “The waves dancing, beat the drums.” I think the most obvious thing here is 「ドラム」which means drum, this can be a direct reference to the drums of liberation. If we take it to mean this, we can also assume that “Waves dancing” could literally be dancing waves based off of the Nika fruit’s powers, but that is kind of a stretch.
Then there’s 「明日の朝日が ないじゃなし」Which translates to “Tomorrow’s morning sun will come” or some variation of that phrase. Quite literally just saying that dawn will come and to wait until tomorrow, the line before it saying 「おくびょう風に 吹かれりゃ最後」Which means “Be brave or this breath’s be your last” or something inspirational like “hold out longer so you can make it” anything along those lines, which I think is referencing the will of D and how it’ll persist and how nothing done by Joyboy’s crew will be in vain.
I don’t know Japanese, so I may be wrong about the translation of the next part, but In the third verse, the song says 「今日か明日かと宵の夢」Which means “today and tomorrow our dreams through the early night” which if I am right could mean that the Will began as the darkness fell upon the world and then the Will will persist until “tomorrow.”
(Not done yet so let me finish typing the rest of the meaning)
After this line, it says 「手をふる影に もう会えないよ」which translates to “Wave goodbye, we’ll never meet again.” Which means that the crew died or Joyboy disbanded his crew like Roger did. Right after this line, the song continues saying 「何をくよくよ 明日も月夜」which means “Don’t worry, the moon will rise.” I think this has something to do with the Nika fruit. As we know the famous pose with Gear 5 and the moon, which I will refer to as the “Nika Pose” symbolizes Luffy’s awakening. This draws parallel to this part of the song which says “don’t worry, the moon will rise” by showing not only Joyboy’s return, but the drums of liberation along with the moonlit sky.
The fourth verse seems critical of Joyboy, the first of the last two lines says 「どうせ誰でも いつかはホネよ」which means “It doesn’t matter who you are, sooner or later you’ll just be bones” which means no matter how powerful, whether Joyboy or Roger (and maybe even Luffy by the end), they’ll all be just a skeleton (I’ll get more into what I think this line implies later).
The second of the two lines in the fourth verse of the song says 「果てなし あてなし 笑い話」which means “endlessly, aimlessly, a funny story.” Saying that everything was without purpose and for nothing.
Together, the two last lines of the song kind of tell a small story or a monologue, a monologue of someone criticizing Joyboy saying “It doesn’t matter who you are, you will end up just some bones. A pathetic tale without meaning that’s worthy of laughter.”
And yet again, that word “laugh” is there. The last words of the song are 「笑い話」yet again, these translate to “funny story,” but the kanji used are 「笑」which means “LAUGH” and 「話」which means “TALE.” Quite literally a laugh tale.
(final part in the next block)
I also want to revisit the line 「どうせ誰でも いつかはホネよ」which says “It doesn’t matter who you are, you’ll just be some bones.”
I just want to tie this part in with Brook. Brook is someone who’s entire crew died, yet he was revived as JUST BONES and continues to carry the Will of his crew to yet again meet Laboon. Not to mention, Brook’s laugh is in the song itself, showing a deeper connection between him and the song. On top of that, during the fishman island arc, Brook is seen doing the Nika Pose much like Luffy activating Gear 5. Accompanying the Nika pose, Brook is playing music, which could also be paralleling the drums of liberation. While Brook did the Nika Pose, he also manifested a reality for the fish to be happy and dance in, bringing imagination into reality (at least for the souls of the fishmen that were fighting him). One of the fishmen also had a close-up of them smiling. The bringing imagination to reality and freeing the fishmen of their burden from the war is literally all what Nika stands for, which further shows a connection between Nika, Joyboy, the song, but also unexpectedly, Brook.
This may be a stretch, but because of all of this combined, I think it’s possible that the ONE PIECE itself is Joyboy’s Skeleton. The treasure revered across the world for the great pirate era and the pirate king is nothing more than just bones. Isn’t that laugh worthy?
“It doesn’t matter who you are, one day you’ll be a skeleton. An endless, and aimless, laugh worthy tale.” These are the words, or speech, that the song ends with, so what not more fitting for the One Piece than just some bones?
@modest skiff @glacial pendant
This doesn’t need to be pinned, but since you wanted it, here is my interpretation.
Insightful!
Have y'all heard of the cloud ring that forms on certain devil fruit users like luffy, yamato, lucci
There's someone else that has the cloud rings and we met him back in skypia
guys so im rewatching op with my friend, and so you know the bird island that chopper visits? with the cavemen looking people that seem to have advanced tech? well they have this mass library that chopper studies from and im pretty sure that this library is the remnant of the books that were saved in ohara from a couple chap ago
Those books were taken to Elbaf? Are you suggesting some were removed or that chopper was in/around elbaf?
I get the feeling wapol will become an ally(his kingdom) to the strawhat crew. The production of wapometal was so important the WG gave him a new country to rule. We know from franky that vegapunk had a dream of finding a shape changing alloy. Silly enemy's(like buggy) tend to come back as situational allys
im assuming that some were removed

Are we ever given the information of a lunarian’s lifespan? This theory could still work depending on that

Descendant’s of the Ancient Kingdom
I believe that the descendants of the Ancient Kingdom are those of the Will of D. It has been implied that those with a D are related in some fashion, and the D is an attribute that has been passed down for generations. I don’t think it’s a coincidence for the Ancient Kingdom to be enemies of the Twenty Kingdoms, and for D bearers to be referred as the “Natural Enemy of God” or enemies of the Celestial Dragons. This would also align well with why the World Government tries to censor the D from the names of Luffy and Roger.
After reading chapter 1069 and this post, I too believe that the “D” could stand for “Desire.” The Ancient Kingdom likely used its advanced technology to manifest their intense desire into devil fruits. This would, of course , frighten the rest of the world and trigger the insurrection.
Devil Fruits – Why the Devil Fruits always respawn
I’ve got a bunch of thoughts and shit I want to talk about regarding Devil fruits. All of these spurred on by the recent chapter 1069, with Vegapunks fruit theory. So let’s get started then with what we learned from chapter 1069, starting with Devil fruits.
During chapter 1069, Vegapunk explained his theory on the origin of devil fruits and explored the core of them being tied to a desire of evolution. Vegapunks theory is as follows;
“Every Devil Fruit is a possibility for human evolution that someone desired!!”
“If only I could be like this…If only I could be like that! All of those powers represent the many branches of the future of humanity!!!”
“But that unnatural status is loathed by the sea, the mother of nature. A fitting punishment for its sin! Those with powers exist in different dimensions dreamed up by someone else before them!!!”
So this means that each of the devil fruits that we have seen thus far has been born via a wish or desire of what a human wishes it could be or do. This, alongside Vegapunks earlier quote, could also explain why these fruits consistently respawn after the user has been killed.
Respawning Desire
Now, Vegapunk states, when referring to Luffy as Nika, *“But as long as people wish for him, his existence will never truly disappear. All things are brought into this world with hope, even Devil fruits”. *
Now I know that it would be a fair assumption that the first sentence is referring to the fact that people only die when they are forgotten, which is a fair point. But given the context of the scene and the rest of the conversation, I believe that as long as people wish for Nika, the fruit will consistently spawn.
This is why the World Government wishes to completely eradicate any mention of the word Nika, even by word of mouth. As long as someone has the idea of him and wishes for his safety, the Hito Hito no Mi; Model Nika will always spawn.
This can be applied to any fruit. As long as someone wishes for that power or a power similar to it, the fruit will exist and respawn. And the same goes for the other way, if the fruit is forgotten or no one wishes for the power, then once the user dies, the fruit dies with it.
In fact, if I were to go one step further, which I shall, I would say this is the mysterious power source that drove the creation of the Devil fruits is the eternal flame that Vegapunk has been looking for. Desire. Imagination. Hope.
This was the ancient kingdoms greatest achievement, and the one thing that the mother Sea (how convenient that Imu is Umi backwards, with Umi meaning Sea) cursed and rejects. And considering how the WG calls those that directly give power to the people or throw chaos to the world, The Devil Fruits are truly a fitting name.
There is also one other thing I would like to talk about, and that is of how BB and co can seemingly harvest fruit powers.
Obtaining a Fruit the Other way
So how does this mix with that of passing on a fruit. As we have seen with the BB pirates, there seems to be a method of obtaining a fruit from a user without waiting for it to respawn on a nearby tree. However this does involve killing the current user, as BB proved in 1059 when speaking to Hancock. So how are they able to do it?
My answer? Cannibalism. Specifically that of eating ones heart who is either alive or only just passed, but nothing stopping you from eating the whole body
Let’s think to the only other time someone seemed to gain fruit power without eating the fruit. Remember one very large mother? All the way back in in a little Orphanage 63 years ago.
Back in chapters 867 and 868, whilst not directly showed, it was heavily implied that Big Mom ate all of the children of the orphanage, including Mother Caramel, during her birthday party and consumption of Semla. In fact the sight was so horrific, one giant warrior who witnessed it fled the scene in sheer terror, disgusted by what he had seen. And what happened next? She could use the fruit powers, seemingly without ever knowing how she did so.
So why would Blackbeard keep this a hidden secret. It’s certainly gruesome, and cannibalism certainly breaks most taboo’s in the world. But to me the simple answer is just that Knowledge is power.
The world was watching Marineford, and Blackbeard was right in-front of Navy Headquarters and Soldiers alike (chapter 577), with the footage being broadcast seemingly everywhere. I imagine this is a secret very few people know, let alone would act upon, and is something the WG wouldn’t even think of to begin with.
So why would he want his enemies, hell even anyone else to know how to harvest devil fruit powers without simply eating the fruit? To me it makes perfect sense that a man like BB would keep that part of his plan completely hidden and showcase the end result. Got to keep the knowhow secret otherwise it wouldn’t appear so magical to the rest of the world no?
Hell Blackbeard himself was unsure if the method would work on the first use. (Chapter 577, Shiryu mentions that if he fails, will the crew disband) The crew was formed around the idea that hadnt even been fully tested. Its that secret. It makes a lot of sense as to why BB has kept it this close to his chest imo
Anyways, that is all I wish to say
I apologise for the word wall, and I thank you for reading.
Word walls are a treasure. I look forward to reading later. Remind me to pin if I forget to.
I think Rob Lucci has concerns haki cause first he leads cp9, become fodder, and somehow still able to lead cp0 he's a natural leader
I personally belive that blackboard used his fruit to obtain the fruit maybe like sucking the insides? I don't think he'd become a full cannibal.
devil fruit juice
I like this a lot, had similar head canon. The only thing that doesn't imo work is the BB part. It would certainly be a very nice and dark twist, however. They left WB's body there. I would think when they left, out of all the marines there, someone would see that the heart was missing. Not that you can see it without looking inside (his body was full of wounds in the front) but I'm sure they would #1 look for anomalies because his df got stolen and they don't know how and #2 notice later depending on how his burial was handled. I assume it was the red haired pirates but still I find it hard to believe not one marine would take a better look at WB while all the commotion was going on.
How did he gain a second df power is too big of a question to not at least try to investigate and the second anyone would see he is missing his heart, they would put one and one together. Like someone HAS to know if the heart was missing... I'm not saying they would go around telling people the truth because it would 100% make people start eating others hearts to gain their power which is not exactly a nice world but still someone has to know.
Oda either wants to hide this from us and it could be true or it's not eating a heart that does it but it's got something to do with BB's "strange body" and/or his df.
We know that Devil Fruits reincarnate by transforming a nearby regular fruit into a Devil Fruit. We also know that the Black Beard pirates have been hunting down DF users and stealing their fruits, but the only examples where we knew about the previous owner were White Beard and Absalom. The first one was definitely killed, and they claimed to have killed Absalom as well. Likewise in the Ace side story, Teach says that the way to steal a DF is by killing the previous owner. So whatever the trick is, they have to kill the previous owner and can't simply pull out the DF powers from them while leaving the victim alive. As for how they actually get the DF, could be something as simple as carrying a fruit so that it is the closest one, but if it was that easy it would be weird that no one else figured it out. Heck, since the BB pirates cover up WB and Teach at Marineford, this implies that whatever the trick is, they don't want it to get out. THIS implies that the trick is something that others could imitate if they see how it happened. So I don't think the trick is something that only Teach can do or that it requires his "weird body" or even the use of the Darkness fruit. Furthermore, Burgess tried to kill Sabo and steal the Fire fruit from him, so the trick must be something that even he could do with the resources he had at the colosseum. Teach being special is more likely how he manages to use multiple fruits at once, not to do with the trick of looting DF from the people they kill.
Honestly this is the most logical option, but it's going to be really anticlimactic if it turns out to be right
One thing: if Shanks knows more than he lets on, what if he actually knew how BB got Newgate's devil fruit and so prevented anyone from getting close to the body? As for motivations, I'm not too sure since we still know very little about Shanks.
Its not a nearby fruit, it's a fruit anywhere in the world
The only time we saw it happen, was to a fruit on the same island. I suppose that could have been a coincidence though. But the "easiest" way for Teach to steal fruits would be if they have a way to ensure that the fruit spawns right next to the body and they can immediately eat it.
Well big mom acquired carmels fruit by eating her so cannibalism is a valid option
It wasn't a coincidence, Caesar placed the apples there specifically to regain the axolotl fruit
Neither option is confirmed but I think it's heavily implied that it must be a nearby similar fruit. Reason #1 is Caesar put those apples there for a reason it wasn't a coincidence they were there and #2 If it really was a fruit anywhere in the world, the chances it would appear right next to where the previous user died are astronomically low. So low that the only logical conclusion is a nearby fruit is where it reincarnates.
im also sure this is the point. caesar knew it resembled a apple so he planted many apples close by. this totally makes sense.
I always assumed those apples were manipulated, with sad or somehow, if it was so simple it would be common knowledge. A fruit or someone gaining powers would be a big deal, in a world of islands and naval battles it would be way too obvious for it to not be common knowledge.
Not to mention some rarer ones would always spawn in the same place
I don't think anything regarding devil fruits is common knowledge if we are looking at the entire world. In the start of the series most characters were shocked and couldn't believe their eyes when they saw people with strange powers, some thought df's were a myth. But I do think one the grand line they are known well and I would say that all of that is common knowledge to those people.
Wdym in the same place. They reincarnate close to where the previous user dies is what I'm saying
Some fruits only grow in some places. The fruit would always spawn there. Not to mention for example a botanical garden (think a zoo but for plants) would get lots of devil fruit spawns since it would be the nearest place for a lot of weird trees.
Yes, I don't see how that's a problem at all. The user still needs to die. Most devil fruits that we've seen seem to inhabit very common fruits. If some only reincarnate on one specific island because that's the only place that fruit is in? Sure I guess? There's nothing wrong with that
What are the chances of Blackbeard being a member of a race that has been lost in the most of time .that might explain his uncanny ability to possess 2 devil fruits . I remember Marco mentioning blackbeards unique body structure so it might hold true as to thinking he possesses a Zoan fruit as the white beard borates would have known his inability to swim.
I still think the DFs were from the AK/ GK, and the Eve Tree has something to do with it. The DFs carry a person's will/ dream and therefore change forms that way as a way of evolution. I think you are correct though the DFs find a similar-looking fruit and 'attach' themselves to that. The only DF that I believe/ think is the mythical zoans which are a little different since they're likely to 'call to the person.' Just like the Nika fruit with Luffy (since he had to same dream/s & wish/es as Joyboy which is why I think Luffy being the freest pirate makes a lot of sense and becoming the PK.
I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but is there an archive of the theories discussed here? It would be awesome to dig through old theories
There are several particular theories pinned in this channel. Also, there are some in-depth character/theme analyses pinned in #manga-serious
Ah thank you so much!
Goverment could also have lied. About the 2 df notion
But no one is lucky enough to attain 2 df's and want to take the risk of dying.
I love that, in this story where someone reading a newspaper is pure hype moment, many in fandom (including myself) are just dying to meet a couple of trees. A masterclass in world building...
I'm almost certain the two of them will be at least locations of interest during the unfolding of the final events. If we go by the religious implications of the names Adam and Eve, they could well be ancient entities, maybe the very same ones who entered into that eternal conflict with the Mother of Nature - the sea - which fits into the idea of them being the origin of devil fruits

ok what are ur guesses on what the one piece is
yeah better asking that in #manga
this isn't the channel for general questions and guesses
if you have a theory, feel free to write it up with evidence/reasoning to support it
i have a theory that one piece is a ponegliff based on history
Again, this channel's for more long-form content. Please provide evidence/reasoning to support it.
To continue this; I do think the trees have a more literal sense which we know of 1) being a source of light to FMI and 2) being the strongest and hardest wood. Both are likely to be considered ‘ancient’ trees. I think the sunlight is a parallel to the tree of knowledge on Ohara. To go into that further to fulfil the dream that Joyboy failed to do and the Fishman have always wanted is to live on the surface again, the only way this can be achieved according to Madam Sharley’s prediction is to ‘destroy’ FMI (figuratively not literally) and along with Poseidon (Shirahoshi) + the sea kings to use Noah which ties into the mythology. As for the Adam Tree that ties into Norse mythology being something similar to Yggdrasil (I know 333vil has spoken about it) and that ties into the egg seen on Roger’s ship (which has yet to be explained) but it’s likely to be a large bird of some sort (which could be an ancient weapon). The common theory it’s Uranus. To back this up with my own theory is that we already have water (the sea kings), land (Pluton being a ship), and then air being Uranus. Although I wouldn’t be too surprised if Uranus is a power but the egg not being explained yet has me thinking this way.
Ok the only person who has reached the one piece is Gol d roger and his crew and we see in kozuki oden's flashback that they have reached last island Laughtale. And in the background of laughtale we see no treasure nor does the crew carry any treasure with them. The reason that Roger name's the island Laughtale because there is no treasure to collect only a story to know to Laugh. The story of JoyBoy Void century the reason there are the weapon's that can destroy the World. And Madam Shirley state's that luffy will Destroy the Fishman Island in the Future we know that luffy will do no such thing maybe it is because what he read on the ponegliff that is known to be One Piece.
any opinion's??
Joyboy also reached "Laugh Tale" (by accident I would assume), Roger named it. It's stated many times in the story that the One Piece is real and there's treasure there. As for Luffy and FMI along with Madam Sharely's prediction, I stated it above what will happen. FMI has nothing to do with the ponegylphs (except for the one that got moved).
Yeah it is stated stated that one piece is real and Whitebeard Confirmed it. Treasure mean's a lot of thing's not only gold and silver, 'many character's stated that the one is real but do not know what it is nor they have been there to know what it is'.
Nah the treasure is tangible. I know the whole omg Oda said this thing is a a meme lol. But I think he did say one piece is an actual thing. I can look for it if you’d like.
I think that would be good
Luffy's last fight is Blackbeard. Luffy is taking he's last breath. Chopper is stunned by the scene. Then chopper ate 9rumble ball thing. His transformation 3x stronger and bigger than his monster point. And the his new transformation is called "cyclops point " he awakened his DF and yeeted black beard pirates. And then Sanji got yeeted too by chopper. He found Absalom at Dr hogback lab. Sanji kicked Absalom ass up. Sanji got separated from the straw hat but atleast he can abuse his power😏

THEORY : BLACKBEARD IS THE ANTICHRIST AND LUFFY JESUS
As you all know, Luffy symbols Joyboy's return in the world, and he's the man who would finally fulfill his initial promise.
His promise being related to the Noha obviously inspired by Noha's ark, this can be shown by King Neptune apologising to Joyboy for its destruction
Why was this ship built? Since Joyboy got its protection and was guilty when he destroyed it, it's probably not his creation, it actually belongs to the prophet before him : Noha
Noha helps solve the void century, why was an entire century erased like that? Noha indicates there was a flooding, and if we look into the islands who survived the flooding, we see that they consist of Zou, Wano and Fishman island. Zou is standing on the very tall Zunesha, so even a flood would submerge the island.
Wano built walls to restrict the flood, but the flood is described in the Abrahamic texts as a great rainfall which covered the earth, meaning the walls acted as a big cup that retained rainwater, but it couldn't overflow because the rest was pushed into the sea. This is evidenced by the submerged part surviving and Robin saying "this couldn't be seawater"
Fishman Island be originally on top of the land, and submerged during the flood but fishmen could survive and maintain the city aswell as the Noha. It could explain why the royal family is obsessed with going to the land, and the conspiracy in the world gov to keep them there
Pluton is also kept in Wano, perhaps by Joyboy's request, so that he could destroy the Red Line and lower the sea level. But this wasn't done during his lifetime, although the series hints at Luffy doing this. Joyboy being the only figure preserved and which relived, it would parallel Luffy, meaning Joyboy is Jesus and Luffy his second coming
Blackbeard wants to annihilate Luffy and really any person with an aim to go get the One Piece, innately, so him being the antagonist would equate him to the Antichrist in the story
_ _
That could also mean Kuma and Mihawk are the apostles?
Kuma is known for his ties with the revolutionary and we didn't see Mihawk part of any crew, but Kuma trusted him with Zoro, and both are visibly dedicated to christianity
And most importantly, Bartholomew is the name of one of the apostles in the new testament
I do agree with this theory however i do see some plot holes. Joyboy in hos time did have Poseidon who controls the sea kings and the fishman were already on FMI. Their dream has been passed down from generation to generation to live on the surface. We still don’t know why/ how Zunesha is being punished. I don’t think Joyboy knew about Pluton or even Uranus. I still think the tribes/ races all lived in the AK/ GK as one or well they could all travel there (if the AK/ GK is now Marijoa). As far as we know Kuma is the only person tied to Christianity (i think).
I'm calling it now, Shanks fuckin dies. Luffy said he's gonna give his hat back but that would pretty much force Luffy to rename his crew. Shanks is closer in similarity to Roger than Luffy in some ways, especially since he doesn't have a DF and fights with a sword (not to mention being on rogers ship). Possibly fights blackbeard and dies
Do you have any other evidence supporting this theory?
THEORY: LOGIA MIGHT NOT BE “DEVIL” FRUITS
Hint to Logia-type devil fruits
As of Chapter 1069, we have seen successful replication of devil fruits. The seraphims S-Shark and S-Bear possess artificial versions of Sui Sui no Mi and Nikyu Nikyu no Mi. Momonosuke currently possesses the artificial version of Uo Uo no Mi, Model Seiryu.² Repeatedly, Vegapunk has shown that devil fruits can be perfectly replicated by him to a high degree. However, it is notable that a Logia type fruit has not been replicated successfully. This is not from a lack of trying, since we see that Vegapunk has been studying Kizaru's Pika Pika no Mi ever since the start of the Pacifista project, and has only been successful in incorporating the laser beam attack using the principles of Kizaru's attack.
What if this is a hint that Logia-type devil fruits hold a separate concept to Paramecia and Zoan -type fruits?
The term logia in Greek can mean "words of divine origin".
Motifs in crests
The Kozuki clan motif features a crane holding an orb with 8 shapes surrounding it.³ The Shandian crest features a large circle with the word "God" surrounded by 8 shapes.⁴ The Arabasta crest features an orange circle surrounded by 8 shapes.⁵ This suggests a common influence on these three civilisations.
The prevailing theory is it signifies the Ancient Kingdom co-founded by 8 races.
But, what if there is an older event that connects these three kingdoms (and, possibly the AK as well)?
Possible truth behind the large circle
The Tree of Knowledge is the oldest phenomenon recorded in the One Piece world.⁶ From the top, which is the perspective of the Sky People race that has achieved flight, the Tree would undoubtedly be round.
I propose the Sky People are the original inhabitants of the Tree. They consumed and possessed the original powers of Logia fruits as fruits from the Tree of Knowledge. There was trade and alliance between the four kingdoms most notably for the Sky People's space travel endeavor, e.g. Wano for gold.
Drawbacks with this theory
There are 12 logia-type devil fruits, but the motif has 8 shapes surrounding a larger circle. A possible explanation is that Sky People may have exchanged 4 Logia fruits to solidify the alliance, and that were not important to their space settlement ambition.
It is also unknown what Arabasta and AK bring to the table, but we could guess that Arabasta and AK may be sharing knowledge and technique in urban planning and cyborg technology.
Thanks for reading!

Love that theory!
What if the 4 given out were represented in the world gov flag? It would have a different meaning than what you're saying but fits the 4+8 part
isnt manga for manga (i dont think its manga)
I think fishman island was originally in some big continent but a big flood the void century comparable to Noha's flood would have submerged the city, like most other forgotten islands were, but the difference would be that it didn't degrade because fishmen already lived there sp they could live under the sea's conditions and maintain the Island. Returning to the good ol' times would be the only logical reason for them to want to move to an actually hostile environment.
Mihawk also is visibly Christian, he wears a cross on the neck and his sword is the shape of a cross, another apostle Paul states that all christian soldiers need to train by the sword of the Spirit "which is the word of god"
As I Christian myself I can agree and say that the statement above are correct
@shy spear as for Zunesha's sin, it's really unclear but the only thing I could think about is the story of an army Elephants led by Axum tasked to destroy Meccah but they were stopped by a miraculous horde of birds holding burning rocks
I don't think Oda would get inspiration from Islamic stories though, but his punishement does have something to do with not being able to go to Wano until Joyboy's return, so Zou would be originally part of Wano explaining how he obeys Momo. Zou's maybe the origin of devil fruits?
FMI parallels Wano so it does make sense. Ah yes wasn’t too sure if I was forgetting someone or not
See there’s so much mystery with Zunesh. As for the DFs I think they go into something regarding Joyboy and the AK/ GK + the sunlight (Eve) tree
But it still joins the whole christian/abrahamic story, devil fruits being born out of an original sin (rejected by nature) in the Eve tree

Question for everyone. What are your top 3 theories from any content creator? It can be a written out document, reddit post, or video. Not personal theory.
I saw one theory that pertained to chopper's rumble balls, essentially he theorized that the rumble balls are a sort of artificial awakening and eventually someone will catch wind of these drugs and then chopper will finally have his big boy bounty, as a drug peddling reindeer
Ancient energy - Eternal flame theory
In chapter 1065 Lilith mentions wishing there was an Eternal Flame to power things. I believe this eternal flame is connected to the Ancient Energy that Vegapunks mentions in chapter 1068.
What caught my attention is something Vegapunk said in 1068: "In carrying on my friend's will, I find myself treading into The depths of..."
I think that quote refers to "Inherited Will".
Devil fruits being able to carry over previous owner's Will in my opinion heavily refers to Ace's Mera Mera no mi being involved with this "Eternal Flame".
However I think Luffy's Sun God Nika fruit is needed to eternalize the flame. This would make sense emotionally for Luffy as well to carry on the flame from both Ace and Sabo and carry on their wills.
Could we see a scenario where Luffy gets the power of Mera Mera at some point to combine both fruits to create The Eternal Flame?
I would love to see that. Do you have a link?
What caught my attention is something Vegapunk said in 1068: "In carrying on my friend's will, I find myself treading into The depths of..."
Vegapunk is referring to Clover’s will of uncovering the story of humanity/Ancient Kingdom, not a meta discussion of Inherited Will.
The biggest problem I have with this theory is, assuming you’re an inventor of this civilization that has access to both Mera Mera no Mi and Nika, why would you dedicate yourself to develop an energy source?
Pre-timeskip it would make sense since WG controls 4 logias. Adding Ryokugyu’s Mori Mori no Mi into the mix, WG’s flag design doesn’t seem to hint anything in this direction. For now the plain meaning is its control over all four seas stemming from Mariejoie. Perhaps there might be another theory…
Theory - Fate of Fishman island
In Fishman island arc Madam Sherly saw a foreshadow or whatever it is that Luffy is going to destroy Fishman island. Later in the story the Mugiwaras could wage a war against the Holy land of Mariejois which can most likely happen because of the secret treasure there as mentioned by Doflamimgo. In that process the Mariejois and Red line get destroyed eventually causing the destruction of Fishman island.
Also its Sanji's dream to visit the All blue - place where all seas meet. If the Red line gets destroyed it will cause all 4 seas to meet at that point most probably leading to the discovery of All blue
Ps- idk if this theory was covered before or not , this is something I came up with at 3am
Yes it is
Dunno if this has been theorized years ago since it is in Chapter 701, but it's interesting to me that the Strawhat crew disguises themselves in black suits and white beards, making them look very similar to the Five Elders of the World Government. So naturally it might imply that the Five Elders are actually disguised themselves, and are not what they seem.
I mean't that Vegapunk carrying on Clover's will is inheriting his will in a general sense, a clue placed by Oda to remind us that there are both figurative and more literal ways of inheriting one's will.
In regards to the Ancient Kingdom and inventing things, maybe Joyboy had enough freedom using his devil fruit to create things from his imagination and that could be to create undying flames or unending lightning to power things.
ok lol
And the theory is…?
So Oda strongly suggested that someone was going to die this arc during Jump Fest 2023, and I think it's going to be Kuma. Supposedly he doesn't have any free will left, but I don't think that's entirely the case. We know willpower is a strong force that can overcome many things in the One Piece world, so it would make sense for Kuma to be able to act on his own if given the proper motivation. In chapter 1067, Kuma went crazy and ran away from the Revolutionary's right after a message goes through to CP0 about Bonney being on Egghead. What if Kuma still has access to that line of communication and was able to find the strength to break free from the mind control one last time?
My theory is that Kuma is going to rush to Bonney's defense and die protecting her, while also turning the tides in the Strawhat's favor. It sounds like the kind of thing Oda would do and it would work as a point for him to pass his will on to Bonney, while also resolving the part of her character arc that just wanted her dad to be himself again. Other than that, I don't really have that much proof for him dying this arc, but I'm almost certain he's going to show up on Egghead and help out the crew.
Since we knew that devil fruits spawn after someone dies on the nearest fruit (is what we know so far) and Devil fruits are actually somewhat of a "dream fruit" where it manifests cause of someone wanting to do this (basically what Vegapunk said in ch.1069)
What if Devil Fruits also manifests when someone's will is so strong enough that when they die they create a Devil Fruit. What I'm getting at is, what if Roger decided to let himself be captured because he wanted to manifests a "certain fruit" that will change the world by using his execution with his will and everyone's strong will to get the One Piece.
That fruit is none other than the Sun God Nika fruit. After Roger learning about the truth in Raftel he learns about Joyboy and in his mind his final thoughts were wanting to pass the will of D to that fruit.
well it's heavily implied Joyboy had the same fruit and Roger lived waaay after him. That alone just debunks this whole idea. It couldn't have been Roger to have made it because it predates him.
@modest skiff can I get a pin? #manga-theories message
yes sir
Did joyboy have the same fruit or even any fruit.
Or did Rogers will create a fruit modeled after Rogers desire to see joyboy reborn.
Just toying with this theory really
I assume only one of each df can exist and since it already existed before Roger (I'm assuming this is fact because it's a stretch to say it didn't) I don't see how Roger would have "created" it. There is a complicated way of making this possible but I think this is where we should be using occam's razor and going with the simple answer.
I guess the gorosei refute my idea because they say its eluded them for centuries.
I still wonder what else we will learn about fruits, like can they grow stronger of people desire them to.
Are there conditions to who can create fruits (maybe shanks refuses to eat fruit because that would disqualify him from leaving his own dream in a fruit?)
If Roger ends up being confirmed eating a fruit before he dies I hope it’s the “gum gum” just to spite the WG. He wouldn’t even need to use it just die with it
I have a feeling that the fruits creation was a one time thing. Something must've spurred it on. Not saying it isn't the wishes of humans but something that triggered that whole process of creating the fruits. I say that because it's too specific to just be created by anyone. Like why would the will or dreams specifically manifest in fruit form. I'd think it would be more ethereal if it wasn't for some sort of catalyst that caused the "reaction" and somehow it was controlled in a way that gave them the specifics. So no I don't think they can be created just by sheer desire anymore. However this is just my current understanding, it could change very quickly
So on chapter 1067 the CP0 entered Egghead and we saw that Stussy knows a lot about this island. And we also know that bonney was on Egghead in her childhood. And lastly on chapter 862 we can see that Stussy doesn't want to share her age with Du Feld.
So my theory is that Bonney turned Stussy met on Egghead when bonney was a child and she aged Stussy to be younger.
We can also see that Oda revealed that Stussy's age is a secret.
I also have a theory in regards to Blackbeard.
We all know that Luffy & Blackbeard’s character have a heavy emphasis on the DREAMS of people. One explicitly shown to the personification of Freedom (Luffy/Nika) whilst the other although yet unknown was described to have never slept but still a believer in the dreams of the people.
Luffy’s Gear 5 is the power of imagination as described by Vegapunk himself whilst I think Blackbeard’s awakening is that who steal dreams.
This is also further backed up by the fact Vegapunk states that the devil fruit’s real nature is to further progress the dreams of the people and the Yami Yami no mi cancels out Devil Fruit abilities; cancels out Dreams.
Blackbeard the Dream Eater
Another theory in mind is we’ve already met Luffy’s mother; It’s not Crocodile. It’s simply Dragon.
Thanks to Germa 66 we know cloning is real and whose to say Luffy isn’t simply a clone of dragon but with xy chromosomes.
Dragon could’ve also been a women
Blackbeard being dream eater is interesting ngl
🤨
It’s eyebrow raising I know
but it’s within the realm of possibilities
Luffy could be a clone, but not of solely dragon. He’s actually joy boy using dragons dna, maybe.
That would make them brothers?
Anything’s possible but, I doubt VP had JBs DNA just lying around or else the government would’ve made use of it
I think the process is less direct. Roger didn't will himself a Nika fruit, he launched the Golden Age of Piracy, the collective unconscious of Pirates and Marines and Slaves and Celestial Dragons and Revolutionaries made Nika (either by desiring freedom, or fearing an upset to the status quo)
I can’t believe this is the same person that had a debate with me
Even Sanji had a mom.

Thank you for correcting this typo. I was really baffled when I first read this, since you appeared to be contradicting my point of slavery being ended by the AK. But now that I read this again, I see you are just saying I worded it wrong but my conclusion seems valid.
Thank you for the pyrobloin/seastone correction. In my "The volcano kills Kaido" theory, my justification was my belief Pyrobloin is the component of seastone that harms DF users and that a pyrobloin lava beam would dumpster Kaido. Not sure why my brain farted by saying seastone was the thing mined rather than later forged.
This is version 3 of my void century theory. You can find V2 here: https://discordapp.com/channels/164970986284777473/477571830941614080/1044036164677533706
I made significant edits and reduced the word count by over 1000 while adding more concise info, so hopefully it is more readable now.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me with this, including Bec, Salmy, Harsh, Keturin, and Plushie
I will try to make this version condensed since some people have already read it before.
**
The Void Century**
Evidence of lost technology:
- Combustion is necessary for bazookas and Wyper’s uses a dial containing gas. He uses the dial to release gas and then the ignition mechanism in the bazooka to basically shoot a flame beam. Combustion is not present in the navy or any WG nations we have encountered so far. Skypiea having this level of technology, after being isolated for so long, indicates this technology has been around for a long time. We see other advanced technology in the form of dials. If dials were widely available in the blue sea, they would be used frequently. We are told dials as a whole are extremely rare in the blue sea. Even just the capability to traverse the calm belt is a major advantage in the Blue Sea.
- Pudding’s Devil Fruit. In the current One Piece world under the WG, there is no technology even close to the level of creating film. All forms of video/audio are through snails, which are their own thing that I won’t get into here. From Pudding’s fruit, we can assume technology was advanced in the civilization/era where Devil Fruits were her fruit was created.
-
Dr. Tsukim, though we have no idea when his cover story took place. The technology he had was way beyond what is currently being used in the One Piece world by mainstream WG folks. We know that there was a big explosion on the moon, causing Tsukimi to choke on food, which prompted the robots to go see what happened. They got bodied once they got there, but we learned there are pirates who see value in the moon. I believe this giant explosion was a result of a failed mining operation on the moon. During Enel’s story on the moon, we see some sort of large mining device on the moon, which he destroys when he solos that whole fodder space crew.
-
Morgans and his crew are the only faction in the story with the ability to fly their base/ship around the world. Creating a flying vessel was also viewed as a paramount achievement, specifically requiring Enel’s fruit during Skypiea. The ability to fly is extremely valuable, and in my eyes, a forbidden technology. Since Morgans is able to operate separately from the WG, he appears to be an entity that is not accountable to them. We saw him easily dispatch a Ciphor Pol assassination and generally gives the impression he gives no hecks about what the WG/navy think of him.
- VP and the SSG, while technically a part of the navy, appear to operate independently. We have never seen a navy ship capable of combustion, lasers, or any of the technology VP has developed.
Pacifista authority hierarchy:
- Five elders
- VP
- Sentomaru
4 Chip owners
We have seen no indication the SSG takes orders from Akainu or anyone else in the navy. If anything, the SSG appears to operate above the navy.
- A giant robot had some unique power source, which has since been lost. This robot is said to have been built 900 years ago, which is the beginning of the void century. It was powered by a technology that VP has yet to be able to replicate. The robot was defeated by a sword somehow.
How Wano relates to the void century:
Toki’s power transports users into the future, in the exact same location. Toki was searching for Wano, but we do not know if she was from Wano. It is possible that Wano used to be located somewhere else, but I think it is more likely that towards the end of the Void Century, before stuff really took a nosedive for the AK, Wano was constructed as a supremely defensible position. I think Wano represents the ultimate fortress and a means of preserving the diversity of the planet within a single border.
I believe Mt Fuji was manipulated by Pluton to forge the white sea and all of its various layers. For details of this theory, please see this link: #manga-theories message
Summary: The material that forms the white sea (Pyrobloin) comes from fuji. The white sea is artificially made as a means of escaping Imu’s ultimate weapon: the ability to change the sea level of the planet. The reason many kingdoms are either incredibly high up, fortified, or can float, is to protect against a weaponized sea level. I think the final stage of a new dawn is for an event to take place where the people of the blue sea are no longer vulnerable to Imu’s checkmate card, the ability to just flood the planet. Noah, Water7, Zou, Wano, and the White Sea are all intended to serve a greater purpose when the time is right to finally “turn the world upside down”. This invalidates the entire core of Imu and the CD’s stranglehold on the navy and the planet as a whole. But in order for this to happen, Wano needs to be opened to the world. Zunesha needs to crush the border before the final eruption when a pathway similar to the one speedy shrimp use to reach Skypiea is created from Wano to the white sea. This is why it has been of absolutely paramount importance for Wano to remain closed until the right time. I think there is a special moment that Oden was aware of (which Momo now knows thanks to Oden’s journal) which requires Wano opening and it will involve Mt Fuji creating a pathway to the White Sea. I imagine a scenario where Seakings pull inhabitants of the Blue Sea up into the White Sea aboard Noah, something along those lines.
When the time comes, I think this pathway, with the One Piece, will allow Luffy’s crew to travel to the new home of the AK, which I think is the sun. Since we know Elbaf has been entirely independent from the world and the WG has zero say in what Elbaf does, and we now know Ohara’s research was located there, I think we have a lot of reason to assume the void century is entirely preserved and understood to the people of Elbaf. In this panel, the AK are implied to be far away up in the sky:
**The AK are “the gods” and Elbaf knows all about them: **
Throughout the story, giants have always given hints that they know a great deal about the world that no one else does. I think that just like the Kozuki clan, giants have held onto the AK language. When Shanks was on Elbaf, it appeared as though Elbaf is essentially an enormous tree that reaches into the sky. I think Elbaf has a direct means of walking on to the white sea and they protect it from the WG/Navy. This is a part of the deal that was reached at the end of the AK war: Giants will not destroy the WG, but the giants will remain isolated and protect the white sea. While I originally thought the AK lived in an upper region of the White Sea (above Skypiea), it appears as though giants see the AK as living in the “heavens”, which I take to mean space.
**TLDR so far: **
- Technology beyond the current WG/society existed at the time of Pudding’s fruit being created. Factions existing independent of the WG (Judge, Morgans, Enel, etc) have technology beyond all of the WG-allied nations. IMO the 900 year old robot with an advanced power source solidifies this.
- Wano being the planet’s only source of Pyrobloin makes it incredibly valuable and it is necessary for the New Dawn
- Elbaf has not had its history destroyed and they regularly refer to “the gods”, who we also hear come from high up in the sky.
Relevant events in history:
Devil fruits being named devils, the people of Ohara being called devils, and the general trend of exterminating anything and anyone associated with the AK, indicates devil fruits were created by the AK. I had at one point considered the idea that perhaps an advanced alien race once traveled to to the One Piece planet to collect devil fruits, but Pudding’s power combined with all the recent stuff we now know makes me gravitate towards the devil fruits and the technology both coming from the same place/people.
-
Tree of knowledge planted. We don’t know what race planted it but islands are confirmed present 5000 years ago
-
From the wiki: “Alubarna is mentioned to be an ancient city, proven by the large quantity of ruins surrounding it. The royal Palace of Alubarna is said to predate the kingdom of Arabasta itself, having existed for around 4000 years.”. Another group built the ruins and Alabasta was basically built on top of it.
-
Law says Zou has been inhabited by Minks for “nearly 1000” years, meaning there is a potential for hundreds of years for the AK to exchange technology with the Minks. The Minks show zero sign of technological advancement.
- Slavery was present on the planet (1000 years ago), then stopped (900 years ago), then resumed again at the end of the void century (800 years ago)
Add this all together and here is what I think happened during the void century
AK having advanced technology and seeming to not be present for much of the timeline other nations on the planet indicates the AK arrived at some point. If they chose that planet in particular, it must have something unique. Other societies on the planet having primitive tech indicates the AK were after a natural resource, since there is nothing else of clear value to a technologically advanced race. There are no signs that the AK enslaved people. It appears they were anti-slavery and perhaps refused to associate/help nations with slavery. Once nations were disallowed from keeping slaves, they tried to help native nations while they were visiting for resources and ended up keeping a long term colony. I think they built machines to change weather (Uranus), change land (Pluton) and Poseidon is native to the planet and serves the interests of the sea. I think the AK technology was so advanced that it single-handedly made the whole kingdom invincible. But they also helped lots of nations thrive and were net-positive for the planet, so people weren’t really interested in overthrowing them anyway.
If the AK arrived from space suddenly, outlawed (widely used) slavery, and then were defeated, it makes sense for the winners of the war to outlaw flying and advanced technology as a whole. I think the CDs basically said “the world should just stay like this. No one is allowed to have combustion or beyond, and we now rule because we were able to commandeer some AK tech which allows us to hold the planet hostage”. Since Clover was killed before saying the name of the kingdom, and he did not know the name of the kingdom prior to recent research, the AK was not a part of any history of the planet prior to the void century. Even if it was just a kingdom that suddenly got super powerful, there would be evidence of their existence before the void century and it would be obvious they were eliminated during the void century. History before the void century is all still intact. Only the void century is suppressed.
I think many nations got together and started to think: “What is so good about liberating our people, benefiting from technology to solve issues like drought (by changing weather on Alabasta) if we don’t get slaves? My life was better before the AK. I hate cooking dinner”. There was also likely a dynamic we have seen before: Unexplained/foreign power being a source of fear/skepticism. The AK waltzed into the planet, flipped it upside down, mined a bunch of pyrobloin, and took over the world informally by setting rules against slavery/violence.
Since the world was already skeptical and somewhat scared of the AK, I believe someone who was firmly against the AK launched a false flag attack on Alabasta, which was originally one of the allies of the AK. When King Nefertari talks about his family hiding a great shame, and we know Zunesha did something incredibly unethical during the void century, these 2 events sum together to give me the impression allies of the AK attacked the AK and then later realized that was not the right thing to do. Zunesha seems like a good person. The Nefertari felt great shame. Whatever they did, they later regretted it. Since this all appears related to the void century, I am concluding Zunesha and Alabasta did something to harm the AK in a way that the other 20 nations were able to conquer it or run them out of town in some way. As we know, as soon as the 20 nations won, it was right back to slavery in Dressrosa.
Whatever faction Imu is a part of basically said “See? Told you guys the AK are dangerous. Queen Nefertari is dead because we trusted them. Let’s go destroy them”, which Convinced Zunesha and Alabasta. The war happens, and since Zunesha and Alabasta were insiders, they were able to defeat the AK.
When the war was lost, the AK forged all the pyrobloin they mined on the planet into the material of the glyphs. I haven’t decided if I think glyphs themselves are a power source or if they are instead a form of pyrobloin that is specifically engineered to be invincible, but I think the AK solved 2 problems at once:
-
Tell people what happened and that slaves will be liberated again some day
-
Prevent pyrobloin from falling into the hands of the slavery-supporters. I think that through some mechanism, pyrobloin ends up being the “eternal flame” VP describes. A sun is certainly an eternal flame, so the idea that pyrobloin somehow is able to be used to create fusion, an infinite energy source, makes sense.
This is why the robot isn’t able to be properly powered: the supreme energy source it was designed for is not available anymore.
I think the reason Roger was too early and there’s all sorts of stuff related to cycles (Poseidon) is rotation of planets. I think planetary alignment or at least proximity is necessary for the One Piece to be useful. I think the AK homeworld is only accessible at a certain stage of the One Piece planet’s rotation. One or more planets has an elliptical orbit, just like Uranus IRL:
Uranus travels in an elliptical orbit around the sun once every 84 Earth years. At its closest (perihelion), the distance to Uranus from the star is 1.7 billion miles (2.5 billion km); at its farthest (aphelion), 1.89 billion miles (3 billion km).
I think the one piece universe has an exaggerated form of this. I think there is something that only happens every 900 years and this dynamic is necessary for the whole plan of liberating slaves to be successful. This is a long way of saying: I think the One Piece is a method for traveling to other worlds or just a spaceship itself. I think the reason the AK only showed up when they did was because the one piece planet was so far away they essentially needed to wait for the planet’s orbits to align to reach it.
Vegapunk’s comment basically saying “If we only did stuff that was safe or reasonable, science would be slow as heck” was, IMO, a perspective shared by the AK. I think that like most characters/factions in One Piece, it isn’t as simple as good and bad. They did a lot of good for the planet’s inhabitants, but I don’t think the planet itself agreed. As I said before, I think 2 of the ancient weapons are devices that the AK used to reshape the world and help the inhabitants. But I think Poseidon has always been an extension of the planet. The sentient sea kings and their genetically inherited master have existed as a means of protecting the world and I don’t think they like the AK mining the seastone from the planet. This brings me to who I see as another major player: the 3rd faction, the sea/planet itself.
As I alluded to above, I think Devil Fruits were made by the AK, as evidenced by the technology involved with some powers. Power over gravity, Pudding’s fruit, mochi and a few others support this. I think the devil fruits, through some mechanism, carry the will/souls of members of the AK who were killed during the void century. This is a common theory, so by no means am I taking credit, but I think the planet seeming to have hatred for devil fruit users is related to my theory that the AK were mining seastone and that seastone is in some way a vital part of the planet.
The sea is sentient, has a soul, a will, and hates devil fruit users because they contain the soul/will of the people who assaulted the planet for scientific gain. Devil fruit users respond to being in the ocean basically identically to how people respond to intense conqueror’s haki. I think the animosity the sea feels towards devil fruit users is very intense, and given the strength of the sea as a whole, even people like Luffy are zero-diffed by the ocean. And while I do think the story will eventually involve Luffy coating his whole body in conq haki to be able to swim through the ocean, he ain’t there yet.
We have gotten limited glimpses into what Marie Jois is like on the inside, but we do know that they have moving floors that are powered by slave labor. I think once upon a time, these floors were powered by electricity, like much of Marie Jois, though it mostly doesn’t work anymore. I think “the secret of Marie Jois” is the fact that Marie Jois is using the technology they outlawed and they are using it to hold the planet hostage.
dk if anyone said it yet but what if the "peoples will to evolve" creates devil fruits, would this be a way to tie in ussops lies coming true? obviously his lies dont become devil fruits but it would be a nice way to tie it in
Theory about Shanks and Kaido.
During marineford it is known that Shanks went on to meet with Kaido to stop Kaido from going to the war.
What prevented Kaido from going?
What did Shanks do or have that made Kaido agree with him.
I theorize that Kaido knew Shanks' connection with the WG/Gorosei, and that Shanks made a deal with Kaido to share some invaluable information about what he knew about the ancient energy (same on that powered the ancient golemn) if he stay put and not join the Marineford war.
Since Kaido also knew about the lunarians and the devil fruit of Luffy (although he doesn't know its full potential as seen during Wano arc), he may possibly have known some secrets within the WG that involves Shanks which further convinces him to have a deal with the guy.
Hence the reason why Shanks' crew seem like they didn't even go to battle when they arrived at Marineford. Because they did not fight Kaido's crew, they just made a deal.
Just as a general reminder, film red details are still considered a spoiler until film red releases on Blu-ray, so please keep theories unrelated to Film Red
but feel free to post in #film-red
but the "gum gum fruit" existed before Roger right? Wasn't the navy on the lookout for it?
We do not know when and where the fruit was around, but it must've existed for a while and surfaced before, or else there isn't much sense to the actions of the Elders
I was trying to find when in Wano Kaido talked about it, but I remember him saying he and King tried to go after Whitebeard but Shanks didn't let him. The 2 characters that fly. My read is that they tried to fly there, and Shanks threatened to drop them from the sky. So I think you're right that they didn't fight, but just because I'm pretty sure the Red Hairs all together can drop Kaido and King to the sea once, and that's all it really takes to beat them in those circumstances.
Luffy is actually Ace in disguise
I've been thinking about the eye ring and the general theory that it implies a person is posessed by another soul/entity that has popped up many times over the years.
While I used to think it also meant some sort of immortality/longevity, it bothered me that Mihawk (who even has the name Dracule pointing at immortality) did seem to age in the time since Roger's execution at least.
Now, let's take a look at the main eye-ring people:
- Zunesha: The best elephant in manga is a big mystery but what we know of it is relevant to its eyes. It's very old (~1k years, maybe older), was a Nakama of Joyboy (presumably during the Void Century), and has been condemned for a crime to what appears to be an endless punishment. Zunesha is an interesting first character to examine because I actually believe that the entity condemned for the crime (and potentially Joyboy's Nakama) is the one possessing what is otherwise an old continent-like elephant. This was potentially forced onto them as part of the punishment (ie "You shall be trapped in this elephant's body and roam the ocean endlessly, never doing anything else unless commanded to by a king").
Beyond that, I don't think we can speculate much more about this character, other than they seem to keep consciousness and memory and are able to "recognize" Joyboy. Speaking of which...
- G5 Luffy: Our favorite Rubber Boy showed us a cool new side this year with G5, including mysterious eye rings. I evoked this in Zunesha's entry but basically it seems straightforward that Joyboy is the entity taking (partial) control of Luffy in G5. This also opens an important aspect of this theory which is: how does this mechanism actually work? In the case of Luffy, I believe it is going through the Devil Fruit. This is another well established theory linking inherited will with devil fruits and a form of immortality (for the entity that gets to still "live" via their vessel). Since it's almost certain Joyboy was the last person to awaken this fruit, it also seems likely that awakening may be one of the ways this can happen. I don't think it'd be the only way, but does seem necessary for Luffy if we go with this theory. It also suggests that multiple users' souls could be part of a single fruit, either remaining as themselves or merging into an amalgamation of the inherited wills of the users.
I don't want to go too far into the DF side of things though because we now need to examine...
- Mihawk: The earliest clear eye rings we saw had intrigued fans even before we saw the feature in other important characters. But a defining characteristic of the powerscaler's favorite swordsman (cue the rage) is his apparent rejection of devil fruits. While he could very well have one (I don't think we see him swimming), it'd be a stretch to speculate on it. As mentioned in the intro, his Dracule name suggests immortality and lack of aging, both of which contrast with what little we've seen of his past where he did look younger, so the name could just be to match the gothic aesthetic of the character. The rings however could explain why Mihawk does seem to have the experience of a thousand lifetimes: swordsmanship. Despite his youth, the lad has been at the top of the game for a very long time, in a world with pretty strong competition. I'll cut to the chase: Ryuma's soul inhabits Mihawk in a way. I don't think I need to expand on why this could explain his prowess. Let's address two things:
- Why would Ryuma want this/with this person? The passion of swordsmanship is strong with Mihawk and was presumably strong with Ryuma too; it's not just about winning, they never want to stop playing. Mihawk is disappointed that Shanks lost his good arm and won't be able to compete how he (Mihawk) would like. Simply wanting more fighting seems like enough reason to do this given the chance. Using a young body (that maybe had existing passion/talent) also seems to make sense as opposed to, for example, trying to recover your old corpse; a reason why I don't think Mihawk would have had an issue with Moria playing with Ryuma's corpse.
- What is the relationship between the soul and the host? This question was easier to sweep under the rug for the last two names but we'll start needing to address it now. I think these relationships can vary greatly from seamless cooperation to full cohersion. On one end you have Mihawk who, I believe, is fully working with Ryuma's soul and altering control of the body as needed. He willingly agree to Ryuma's request to "take" him and lets him take over during (some parts of) the fights. We then have G5 Luffy where I believe Joyboy and Luffy's interests are mostly aligned, but it's a far less explicit relationship, only manifests fully in G5, and is not always coordinated. Luffy had to sometimes force himself to get a tiny bit serious in some occasions when the goofiness got too intense. I don't think this will ever be an issue, but it's not the Yu-Gi-Oh-like relationship we see with Mihawk. Finally I believe Zunesha is trapped in the elephant with very limited control over it.
This brings us to the last character I want to look at today:
- Imu: No two ways about it here: we know next to nothing about them. Their appearance is mostly shrouded. We get a rough sense of their size based on bounty posters and, unlike what most people say, they are pretty regular size; certainly nowhere near giant. What little hint we do get though is that they have in their possession, a frozen strawhat roughly the height of their body (again, not giant-size, would barely be visible on the skull of onigashima) that we fans speculate belonged to Joyboy, implying he'd have been the size of a small-medium giant (bigger than Saul, smaller than the bigger giants we've seen). This roots out a possible theory about Imu's body being Joyboy's old body that pops around occasionally. I also think the "live body is better/necessary" thing from Mihawk applies here. This leaves us with one of the other theories about Imu: it's Luffy's mom. Now that one is insane but would kinda work well with the "soul taking control" theory: Imu would be some sort of entity that has transcended death somehow and has indeed been around since (and maybe before) the Void Century. They operate however by controlling live bodies which they trade for younger ones every few decades. Luffy's mom was taken in some way by Imu, to be possessed as "the body", maybe because she was of some royal lineage (not going to name it here, but another manga comes to mind). This could explain Dragon's outstanding drive against the WG, solidifies Garp's conflicted positions (imagine his son was married to some Celestial Dragon mega-secret-noble-slave), and make for a big reveal of Imu when they decide to stop being a silhouette. (The Crocomom enthusiast in me is furious about what I just wrote)
Now I'm aware these theories get crazier as we go, the order is intentional. Take it, and Mihawk to some extent, with a grain of salt.
But since you made it this far, you must have decent tolerance for insanity, so here's my forward-looking theory:
This whole "eye-ring means possession" will be confirmed/explained in the future when we see these rings on Blackbeard as Xebec takes control. I guess by default that makes the Mythical Kraken/Cerberus/Whatever theory likely in that it'd be similar to Luffy: an old entity traveling via a Mythical Zoan devil fruit. BB and this entity probably have a similar collaborative relationship as I suggested with Mihawk, and the entity might be responsible for teaching Teach (hehe) some secrets about the world like consuming multiple devil fruits, or stealing them from corpses.
Thanks for sticking with me, happy holidays! (Sorry this looked much shorter on Notepad, I'll try to cut it down)
This also fits with the Cavendish and Hakuba thing
Oh I always forget him! Feel free to add how this fits, I'm not remembering much about him right now but would love more "evidence"
Good read, regarding Zunesha I originally thought it could be a giant friend of Joyboy that ate a mythical zoan of the elephant variety. Don't know what the mythical creature would be specifically but there's plenty elephants in mythology (Airavata is one example). I mean if there can be a buddha zoan then anything is possible really. It doesn't really explain why the others have those eyes but just adding my thoughts, maybe you can find something more meaningful in the idea.
Would this mean Zunesha has DF powers? It's one reason I didn't bring that possibility up until Luffy's section, since Zunesha is technically walking in the ocean all day. But more generally it's certainly possible this all goes through mythical zoans, and the abundance of mythical elephants you mention is definitely an argument in favor of that for Zunesha. An alternative I like is that the elephant itself could be a deity, one that (unlike Nika) is still around and kicking and has not yet become a mythical fruit (however that happens).
Well elephant symbolism includes stuff like luck, prosperity, long life etc. Makes sense for someone who's been alive since the void century. I don't think Zunesha having df powers and walking in the ocean is a problem. Sanjuan wolf does it perfectly fine. You just get weakened but the sheer size of them would let them walk around no biggie. But it could very well be that it's actually an elephant and nothing else. Although the reason why I'm not a fan of that idea is that I don't really want there to be any deities in the OP world (note that it could just be an elephant but the size is all crazy because OP world is crazy. However the fact that it speaks makes me think otherwise). Like I don't think Nika was an actual god. The way things are getting explained now, implies stuff like that was created as an offspring of people's dreams etc. This is also obviously a personal preference, I'd just rather there aren't gods. But it is certainly possible.
But then again the Buddha and Seiryu fruits exist
yeah those could easily have been created by dreams of people too
Giant elephant roaming the world does sound like something that would be dreamt up too. Maybe it was even the whole minks tribe dreaming of a roaming home where no one could catch them
I do think there were some machinations going on that allowed dreams to be manifested inside of fruits. So just dreaming of a a giant elephant for a home wouldn't create Zunesha but idk
I was just thinking and this is probably so wrong but yk how vegapunk had a theory about devil fruits are different unnatural evolutions so nature hates them and they can’t swim and stuff. What if haki is the correct evolution but it’s not time for haki so only strong people can use it and it’s basically speeding up your evolution so that’s why it can cancel out some devil fruit abilities
So I think yasopp was formerly in the wb pirates but left.
I think yasopp and vista were on wbs crew and eventually met banchina(usopps mother). They began to fight over her love and that messed up their relationship. She was drawn to yasopp more even though vista was the greater chaser, no pun intended. They eventually had a duel and whoever lost left the crew. Yasopp lost and went back to his hometown.
I believe it was on the wb pirates where he gained his infamy. And that's how shanks knew of him
@rustic hawk that discussion has been moved to #manga-serious , just fyi
Cool I'm just writing out a theory unrelated to that
One of the basis of garps character is kesari from Hindu mythos. Luffy representing hangman. And his 2 fathers vira and kesari. Vira the god of wind, dragon who had wind powers. And kesari who was known to have the face of a monkey. His wife was a celestial nymph who fell in love with kesair after seeing him perform several heroic acts. And she herself became a monkey.
Kesari protected several holy saints who were being persecuted by a monster and took down the monster with his powerful fist. That monster being xebec. And could imply garps wife and dragons mom is a celestial
And garps wife fell in love with garp due to his heroic nature
vira? dragon? you mean vayu, the god of winds? vayu is never represented as a dragon, kesari and anjana are vanaras, a race of people who are generally considered to be forest dwelling people, appropriated as apes (either can be true), anjana was a celestial nymph who incarnated onto earth and there's an entire story about how hanuman was born through vayu and was raised by kesari
No one said vayu is represented as a dragon. Where are you reading from.
You are basically agreeing that hanumans 2 fathers are vayu and kesari
Dragon has wind based abilities. And vayu like you said is the god of wind
You're confusing theory with reality, dragon appeared when it was windy.
It might mean he has wind based powers but we have no real proof as to what his strength may be.
@rustic hawk what translation did you read
This is the wiki, which I would argue is the community consensus on dragons powers.
I'm not saying you are wrong or that you shouldn't build theories on top of dragon possessing wind abilities.
But it's worth understanding that it is not an undisputed fact/ canon
wind logia would be the ultimate sign of freedom almost
Yeah the consensus is there is no consensus. The wiki does mention the convenience of wind gales occurring near Dragon but abstains from definitively saying that Dragon has wind-based powers because nothing canonical in the series explicitly confirms it. Kiritard is right, it makes sense to build on that assumption as long as you are aware that it is an assumption.
I think a have a very crazy theory. I think luffy is going to surpass Roger a LOT more than you think. After Gol D. Roger's death, You can say that those words, well, started the great pirate Era. When Roger was sailing before he became pirate king, he was just a normal pirate. But why was Roger a pirate in the first place? No one knows, but what we do know is that luffy will surpass Roger. But it will be by a LOT more than you think. Luffy was sailing as a 17 year old kid DURING the pirate Era, after Roger's death. No one knows how many pirates (especially the strong ones) were sailing when Roger started his adventure with Rayleigh, but it's GOT to be less than how many pirates started sailing after Roger's execution, right? So many people around the world started their own adventure after the execution, meanwhile before that time there wasn't as many people sailing when Roger was. The fact that Luffy will become Pirate King will surpass Roger by so much since of the amount of people that there was to fight against, ally, and conquer when Luffy started his adventure With zoro. Don't know how ppl didn't see this.
I do have another big theory to say but I can't since I'm on phone rn but I will announce tomorrow 😊
That's a good theory. I will say that Rocks D. Xebec seems to be an outlier in this regard, because from what we know him and his crew were absurdly strong. But we don't know the specifics.
There is loguetown, then there is also sabo's flashback when something looking like a wind blast quelled the fire in a straight line radius, and there is also the dialog with Ivankov where dragon could be theorised as " listening to the wind " toward east blue
Those are maybe hints that point in the same directions
Yup

Lulusia kingdom and sabo survival theory:
i honestly believed lulusia kingdom survived this
mainly because i dont think this is an explosion at all, instead its a huge teleportation device made by Dr. Vegapunk.
we already saw oldman vegapunk teleported back to his lab and what if such teleporatation device is only possible because of learning some technology from the ancient kingdom? This might also be the reason as to why the wg found out that he is currently researching on ancient kingdom and why they wanted to eliminate him
lucci also implied that vegapunk might have something to do with what happened to Lulusia kingdom
another thing is the cipher pol ships disappearances around egghead which might be a result of early failed teleportation experiments by Vegapunk
I'm not really sure why vegapunk saved lulusia but we know that the kingdom joined the revolutionary army after the reverie and we also know that vegapunk has connections with dragon so that might be it or maybe he's just against the killing of an entire nation like what happened to ohara.
what do you guys think?
I think it’s an interesting idea and yeah, that lucci line does bring up some question marks. But imo, the panels preceding the Lulusia one with Imu make it seem like they are responsible for destroying it. It’s part of the great cleansing that was mentioned during Reverie because these nations are rebelling
what if the gorosei asked vegapunk to make a weapon that can destroy an island but oldman vegapunk made a floating ship that can teleport an island behind their backs instead to prevent the killings?
I’m on my phone so I’m not going to look up the panels, but I think it would be interesting to compare the panels showing VP’s teleportation technology. It really looks like Lulusia got destroyed, but maybe teleportation looks the same.
I’ve always squinted my eyes at the whole “erased from existence” term rather than just saying “destroyed” or something similar.
I’ve generally believed kingdoms or places that were erased from existence previously were shot up into the White Sea by something similar to a knock up stream, but Lulusia looks destroyed. But like I said, if VP teleportation looks similar, perhaps possible.
The other thing is that VP’s teleportation tech doesn’t seem super reliable right now even when applied to only one person. I think when he first teleported he accidentally ended up under the big robot, right?
yeah, he did say something like time and space getting twisted the first time, but he didnt experience the same issue the second time. Also i wouldn't really count much on the panels of lulusia looking like its getting destroyed to when vegapunk used his teleportation, its true that it looked different, but i honesty believed oda just intended to draw lulusia getting destroyed just so we readers think it is. I think its just another of those false death moments especially since sabo is on the island
In terms of how it was drawn, Vegaprime going up to his lab looked like changing opacity on a layer until he was gone, while Lulusia looked like a bling flash, much like a nuke. Sabo's angle looking up, just before the Lulusia pic posted opens a little bit of a chance he was on a boat heading towards Lulusia
We've been shown very little, and it's likely we'll have some answers by the time the anime catches up, as I'm sure animation will clear up at least some of the ambiguity
Does it matter how many pirates sailed? It's only top tiers that matter. Roger's era had Rocks, WB, BM, Shiki, Captain John?. For Luffy, the major oppoments were Kaidou and BM. Shanks is acquaintance. WB is dead. Kidd amd Law and others are clearly inferior. Luffy has the strongest crew of all SN. SN aren't worth mentioning in front of Luffy's crew. Besides Yonkou, only BB is the true competitor.
Just caught up to the one piece manga and I’m looking to search for some op theories. What are some of the op YouTubers you guys would recommend for theory videos?
One thing to keep in mind is that youtube channels are primarily financially motivated, so you'll notice they make some very click-bait titles with really "out there" theories to grab people's attention. A lot of theory youtubers cite straight up wrong information to support their theories because the only actual motivation is clicks/ads. There are some good youtube videos out there, but the majority of them are very bad in my opinion.
The only youtube video I recommend is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6MFrmTWlCTo&t=1s
As for text-based theories, please feel free to take a look at the theories we have pinned
[SPOILERS THROUGH BASICALLY THE WHOLE MANGA]
After watching some theories regarding whales in One Piece, I decided to connect several different ideas into a theory regarding the importance of Whales to the story. Through this I have come to the conclusion that Laugh Tale and Whales are inseparable and that the final island in the Grand Line is m...
Sounds good, I’ll give it a watch, thx for the advice too

The real question is how did they get to that degree if there weren’t many pirates that have sailed? It doesn’t make sense there must’ve been a third power or something formidable aside from the marines to pose a challenge to grow ‘cause as Rayleigh stated your haki grows the more you’re in the heat of battle; I’m guessing bounty hunters were more prominent back then.
My theory is that Luffy’s gum-gum fruit has a Will of it’s own and will appear to those through out history that seek freedom, my reasoning is that Dr Vegapunk explains that zoan fruits are the easiest to replicate and that the mythical zoans have special conditions.
Roger said so long as there are people that seek freedom in this life, it will never vanish from the Earth. What if he’s referring to the Sun God Nika / Gum Gum Fruit?
The world government has been trying to capture the fruit for 800 years to keep anybody from rising up, to keep Joyboy from ever appearing again.
Agreed!! I always felt that Shanks visited Foosha for Ace. Call it a mere coincidence or fate that he came there with the nika nika fruit, and it felt in Luffys hands! Luffy always pursued the true meaning of freedom.. even aa a kid. So it can be that the fruit chose Luffy
I’m sure when the Straw Hats get to Raftel, it’ll explain the truth about the gum gum fruit on a poneglyph.
The giant straw hat that Imu had locked up belonged to a person 800 years ago who had the gum gum fruit and tried to rise up, but failed.
The giant hat belongs yo Joyboy most probably.. given the importance it's shown by Imu. There is a good chance he was the previous owner of the Nika Nika fruit before Luffy
Since there are certain traits and habits the current holder of a DF gets from the previous owner.. like Sabo using Aces finishing moves. Luffu in G5 can be like that.. where he becomes like the original warrior of liberation
5 elders did say zoans have a will of their own and vegapunk mentioned something like that so yea fruit probably chose luffy
So the thing about the woman in MADS is, I'm not sure its stussy. mainly because Stussy has no need for a gun. she can do long distance Shigan. I thought it was Kureha because they're definately smart, (espescially if the secret to her eternal youth is more than just a gag) but I'm thinking it could be Ochoku (whang Zhi) we never got a confirmed gender and their historical inspiration is famous for their use of guns
most likely it is stussy. I dont think it would be kureha. 24 years ago she would be in her 100s still. I think its possible it could be nico olvia because MADS was broken up right before the ohara incident occured but also her hair doesnt match at all. honestly the most likely person is stussy.
@royal spruce all of these options are certainly possible, I forgot about Kureha. Given that this is more of a general observation of the potential candidates, please use #manga-serious for now
Little nit-pick: it's a bit rich to say he reached the conclusion whales are important after researching them after watching the Ohara/Yuderon that explicitly put forth that proposition first.
They reached that conclusion, he just agreed with it. It wasn't that hard to give them props while still saying he's adding value to their theories
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. But I will say that I don't think its bad to leverage other people's ideas/theories.
The overall point is still great and they expand those connections very well . I'm a huge fan of the whales in OP and hope a lot of what he brings up gets confirmed because it's super well laid out
I didn't say it was bad, my last sentence even says the opposite of that
What's a bit rich is him saying he came to that conclusion. It's like if I responded to this video saying "after watching this, i came to the conclusion laugh tale is inside a whale". I wouldn't be leveraging the idea, right? Just claiming i came up with it
Speaking of Xebec, I think that blackbeard is trying to carry Rocks' Will and power. Although thats pretty obvious
Its also possible they came to the same conclusion without watching those videos. I also don't think its really necessary to credit stuff that explicitly. I try to just say "i've seen other people say x or y", but I don't go out of my way to find who exactly said what during various discussions. Are you just saying hardrocker should have credited yuderon/ohara in some way?
Think about Blackbeard, someone who is trying to carry on Rocks D. Xebec's Will
As an example, I came up with my Mt Fuji theory without seeing a video/reddit post about it. Our theories were similar, but diverged in a few ways and I added extra details. Their theory came out before mine, but I didn't steal it or something
It's not though.. they explicitly say it's after watching those videos. Their words, not mine. I explicitly said this was a nit pick, it's not like I'm trying to demolish the person, it's all gonna be okay. Saying the wording of one sentence is a bit rich is not that big a deal
I'll withdraw the feedback as it would anyway only be useful to the author, and is causing unintended effects here.
The whole video is perfect, no nit pick!
I see what you're saying, and when I read that, I see it as them saying "based on what I have read, I have concluded they are right about the significance of whales". I think that's entirely in line with what someone should say. I don't read that as them saying it was entirely their own idea. Also, it is conveying that they spent time researching to verify certain things and concluded its all good and valid.
got it, i understand what you mean. Nothing wrong with nit picking, I just thought you were saying something different at first. You're right, we can move on. Thanks for clarifying
If there is any channel where nit picking is not only acceptable, but encouraged, its this one 🙂
Sure but i was talking about the form and this is not the forum for this, right? The theory material in this is great and starting an argument about how those points were delivered was maybe more appropriate as a YouTube comment 🔥
But damn one piece is so good i can't wrap my head around it. So many open spaces for insane but amazing theories like this to not only be true but also be compatible with other crazy theories
lol yeah makes sense, I'm just trying to tell you not to worry too much about it
Also, just now remembered to pin your eye theory. If you are curious to read what I've written on the topic previously, please see here: #manga-theories message
How do you even begin creating a universe like that? We are at a point where we can super easily jump into the premise of ancient advanced tech, but the story could have taken a whole other direction and still worked. Even within the whale theory there's so many variations possible.
It reminds me of a comment a few days ago about Zunesha being a mythical elephant fruit dreamt up by the minks as a roaming homeland. A mythical whale to hide a treasure island would also be great
Thanks!! I'll go take a look
Yeah the BM and pudding stuff probably holds the key to the truth. I didn't even consider getting into that but it's probably what we need to understand to have a complete picture of what's going on.
But for Cavendish and Mihawk it would also help to get definite confirmation they have no DF, because it's still somewhat implicit and could make a difference if it wasn't the case. Luffy's rings relating to awakening a fruit tips the scales towards it being related.
Nami also has done it in the past, when she ultra rages, and we know she does not have one
Good point, and the joke about her having conqueror's is also likely to be a bit more than a joke, so it could make sense for her rings to be as legit as BM's (she already seems to have a lot of similarities in terms of having this rage induced overwhelming power)
As far as I'm concerned, Jinbe said what it is, and he's seen it himself in other people many times, so I have no reason to consider it a gag
Do you have an opinion about Imu and whether or not their appearance is shrouded because we could recognize them or if it's just a regular silhouette for teasing purposes?
Since many people have had silhouettes, yet been people we've never seen or even heard about, I don't see a reason to assume its someone already known
Yeah i think the silhouette alone doesn't cut it, but the context makes me wonder. It is being presented as the final "antagonist" on the WG side and is shown to have the rings (one of the very few things we know about it really).
Since the ring theory seems to point at ancient entities/people who may all be related via the void century history, could Imu match someone we're "expecting" to see in a way? Whether it's the ancient entity itself, or the modern "vessel", could they have a significant appearance that would fit hints that have been dropped through the story?
The tinfoil hat in me thinks it could be a way to reverse engineer the ring thing. If we could find a pattern with those that matches the theory of related ancient entities, we may be able to speculate on and deduce Imu's appearance before it's revealed.
Lots of ifs
For me, the ringed eyes is just an illustrative way of displaying "seriousness". Luffy has shown them towards the end stages of fights for years now. Heck even sanji whips em out randomly.
Someone like mihawk is always serious.
I'm not expecting ringed eyes to hold any big secrets.
It's possible, but they appear recurrently in these characters and never in some others (like Zoro) who have gotten serious many times. It's also a bit of a stretch for Luffy whose attitude when fighting is a lot more serious in gears 1-4 than 5.
Does this count?
Maybe, the door is not close to this being just a style effect. I definitely agree there's a bit of tinfoil in seeing meaning in the fact that it's been emphasized in a few characters. But by One Piece standards both are totally possible
It's certainly reliant on some choices made by the anime that further highlight them on the characters we bring up. Similar to dragon's green wind, it could very well lead to nothing but just get people theorizing because they know Oda may have told them to do it (but we'll never know)
If that counts as ringed-eyes then you really gotta rethink.
Just scrolling through a few chapters I found this on king, izo, sanji, zoro and the lil fish dude kappa
I say does it count cause there are iterations where we see an inner ring then more eyewhite before a final circle ending their irises
As a permanent fixture for Mihawk, Zunesha, and Imu, i don't think there's anything to throw away, it's certainly relevant even if it's just to denote seriousness
The permanence I can get behind as a plot point, but throwing in luffy or anyone else really dilutes any value
Not if you're trying to prove something about dual souls
The transitive nature of Luffy's rings and coincidence with Zunesha feeling joyboy's presence in G5 is the basis of my point, so throwing it away would leave a pretty boring theory behind and I certainly don't come here to read those
Momo and Kinemon getting possessed mid-page
Not the best example you could have picked but let me play along just to show you what you're suggesting
Not sure if luffy still counts as having ringed eyes while they pop out of his head, but sento definitely got possessed
Updated eye ring theory
You know how Zunesha, Mihawk, and Imu are always shown to have well defined rings in their iris? Well we know Mihawk is a serious dude so that means all three of these characters are always series: Imu is a serious king and 🐘 is s serious criminal.
does it again, what a mad lad
You can stop spamming pages, you won, i updated to your better theory. Happy now?
I'm aiming for constructive criticism, not to tear it down entirely.
I'm even leaving the typos in as free spice 😜
Nah dawg you're literally going chapter by chapter posting every example you can find your hands on of characters with non permanent eye rings
Yeah because I need to put to bed the idea that people like nami displaying this means something 😅
That stopped being constructive after the first Zoro one
I'll stop it then, sorry
Why would it be a problem for her in particular though? I get having an issue with the randomness of it appearing on many characters (as you proved), but what is the implication that would be difficult with nami?
NVM you said people like her, i can't read
It's more that she's unlikely or un-hinted to have any massive unrelated genealogy, and including some temporary users of "ringed-eyes" means the theory has no reason not to include everyone.
I could feel good about the dual-soul concept being a genetic way a historic faction tried to protect the future, in the same way that the Nika fruit( and all fruits?) Seem to be
So in thus sense the permanence comes from a specific group impacting their blood descendants eyes permanently
What if it's more to do with the soul than the vessel though? Or maybe even that unexceptional vessels (like her presumably) can host/attract unexceptional souls
I could also get behind a scenario where there is something effectively guiding the world like fate, and characters gain the rings when being guided by "fate"
Shit that opens a lot of tinfoil options! I can see this kinda chessboard controled by dead gods and the characters we've known have sometimes been straight up be played like pawns.
Taking this to a high-tech angle, if the ak exists amongst the stars and is returning after 800 years but can occasionally dial in for key-moments, that could work
It's even wilder than the previous theory, so maybe not the direction you wanted to take it, but i kinda like that angle. Or that star dial in thing you mentioned too, it feels in line with the den den mushi 'magic'
Half the fun of theories is making them crazy, the other half of the fun is coming up with even crazier narratives to defend them from criticism
One thing I'm wondering more generally is what the role of Toki is. She technically doesn't seem needed yet, it's not like we're lead to believe her knowledge of the past influenced the outcome of things other than her willingness to send Momo 20 years.
I can't imagine that's the only reason she'd be introduced with this crazy fruit and mysterious origin story and think it's yet to be revealed. One main theory I have is that her genes are actually important and since she passed them on to Momo, they could be the reason he can actually control Zunesha. Even Oden couldn't control it, even though we assume Momo inherited that power along with the voice of all things that they both possessed. In other words, I bet the reason he can't die (as the journal says) is because of both of his parents' genes.
Did her bloodline condemn Zunesha during the void century and that's why Momo can command it?
I generally don't expect non-crewmembers to come back and get significant new lore after "their arc" but we know momo has the journal and needs to live for something.
I wish we'd heard more of toki and her own story, but naybe she's not dead and odas gonna bring her back when the time is right.
But yeah we do need to understand why momo
Momo/Wano might get an exception because of pluton. Kinda like Shirahoshi and somehow Vivi
As long as people are being respectful, as many examples as Kiritard wants to point out are above the belt.
That being said, some of the examples Kiritard gave are different from the distinctly many circles eyes seen in Imu/Cavendish
Maybe i wanted them below the belt, it's bold of you to assume!
All jokes aside: point taken
Yup, I think we are all on the same page on this now 😁
No, it doesn't. It's a normal way to draw eyes compared to Mihawk, Zunesha etc who have multiple rings basically covering the iris
Yeah I'm on board with this being a secret to be revealed
The female on the right is theorised to be Stussy (I thought of it but I don’t think anyone has thought of this)
The stockings closely resemble eachother, her hair look similar and the way they wear their coat is similar
And there’s also this
It's come up a few times in the manga channels and the spoiler channels, highly likely to be correct given Stussy's knowledge of the lab
Anyone? It's all over youtube, reddit.
Unfortunately, that's what everyone expects
From what we've seen of Stussy, her being in MADS is almost a given, but her hangups with age, Kuma's still unexplained choices, I think Bonney is either her daughter or a test tube baby of MADS.
@raw laurel we’ve talked about this before. Please provide a text summary of the link you want to share and the evidence/reasoning they use.

It’s sora
I don't know why but I think that is sanji's mother
So hear me out here, what if conqueror's haki awakens only when someone or something precious to one is on the line and that too just for the capable
had this exchange w @candid stratus and @radiant crown in #manga-serious and we ended up in a neat theory. I will try to remember to go back and write out a post with some panels and shit tomorrow but for now wanted to leave this here per Plushie’s suggestion
we have seen examples of this on-screen with characters awakening it infront of us
like Doflamingo, something that is precious to him would be his own life, we have also seen the same with luffy and ace during amazon lilly arc and the luffy flashback respectively, so what if shanks also awakened his conqueror's haki whilst protecting luffy ?
!theories @pure raven could you please elaborate and provide evidence/reasoning behind your idea? What series of events would happen to make Shanks the reason Luffy becomes pirate king? How does this fit with Shanks’ earlier statement of “let’s claim the one piece”?

All good mate
Will of D(Dreamer)
Theory
My theory of one piece world being a dream world.
Will of D being a Dreamer's will.
After getting explanation of devil fruit by Vegapunk I think devil fruit are just a power boost for someone. Why I think tht way bcoz the same concept going for haki as Reyliegh explained to luffy Haki as an invisible armour and it relates to strong will.
So as in real world when we see a dark dream sometry to fight it but some submit to it.So I think everyone in one piece are having the same dream and the reason some of them r getting Df and some getting Haki is bcoz of thier strong will to fight it in tht dream.
And why everyone is waiting for a new Dawn and waiting for a great tsunami.
It also give some hind of pretimeskip Reyliegh's speech of one piece when Luffy will find it and knows true history the path he will choose might be diffrent from Rogers crew.
May be in the end when Luffy's crew will find the real history they will know the truth of this world being a dream and now they have to choose if they want to live in a dream or to destroy this dream. And what will be the best way to awake someone who is sleeping a lot by splash of water 🌊.So Luffy will decide to destroy the red line bringing the great tsunami to awake everyone.

I didn't get into one piece until 2020 (since then I've watched it 3 times and just bought all the manga) and I love making theories and stuff. What are some of the big theories back in the day, like pre-timskip theories and amazing stuff like that?
Lol nice theory. This makes sense as it’s the truth so ridiculous rogers crew didn’t believe it and lmao’d it but why he wished he was born at that time? Luffy loves freedom will ofc go to awaken everyone
ive also been tracking this 8 satellites thing too. im still not sure what it means. There are more nations that have it too, one being Fish-man island. It's interesting because the sun is illustrated as one and 8 satellites.
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/ldg738/ancient_kingdoms_symbol_is_a_sphere_with_8_points/
ill get into that if u want me to later but for now yeah.
Another example may be oden. Oden had 8 real satellites in the scabbard
Here’s my theory on the ending: I think that Black Beard will arrive at Laughtale first, but will develop the same disease as Buggy did back when he was on Roger’s crew due to possibly his devil fruit. And then I believe that with the power of the sun god Nika fruit, Luffy will be able to obtain the one piece.
To further add on this I think ancient kingdom was a group of scentist who made this world so people here can fullfill thier wish and for that purpose they also made red line and sea kings so people stop going around sea but as story further tells of a great war between ancient kingdom and Wg might be bcoz of some group try to rule this world.
From chapter one Oda always focus on Dreams of the every character.Yes Oda hyping Luffy's dream too much but at the same time he also hyping the word Dream from day one.And the onigashima war as decribed as a "Long Night for a new Dawn" also gives us a theme for a final war".As everyone wake up from thier dream and a new sun will greet them.
Now let's check on the people who actually died in one piece were Roger,WB,Ace,Z,Oden,Kanjuro,Asura Doji,Pedro,Izou,Orochi. The people who died here are either sacrifice themselves for someone or they simply submit to thier death like orochi who at last understand tht he was going to burn to deth and tried to take Hiyori down with her.
While people like Kinemon and Kiku who are deadly wounded still living bcoz of thier sole purpose or wish to fullfill Oden's dream.Same goes with Zoro.So it can also fill all the loopholes in the story
Even Luffy's fruit being Sun God and giving him a power like that gives us a hint of a dream world.
And what can be the most horrific thing about a dream is Nightmare.i think imu's power going to be related to nightmare and it will rival to the power of sun God.
OKAY , i found something that related to Monkey D Dragon's DF/Ability in episode ||737 at 12:18|| , there's wind around him and wind blowing onto Ivankov
we've never seen someone/something that using the air-air fruit (assuming its that fruit) or the wind-wind fruit , and also Dragons ship was way out to sea so , there are 3 possibility's
- dragon ate the wind-wind fruit / Air-Air fruit
2.dragon just swam to his ship
3.he wasn't the one who flew him there.
people may add-on to this is they wish
This is manga theories so I would suggest using that as references. Here is the corresponding panel in the manga
#manga-serious message
It can be used for this argument just as well. We had a debate about this in serious if you scroll around what I linked.
Oda is kinda setting up for luffy to get captured by the marines and for the stuff to play out just like aces execution because oda loves paralels, except there will be like 20x the amount of firepower trying to save luffy
Blackbeard is able to have several devil fruit powers because he is a human product of the Baku Baku no mi (Wapol's devil fruit).
Wapol was first introduced by being on the run from Blackbeard. This could be because he wanted to separate but he failed to capture him.
If a human can only have one devil fruit each, maybe a combined human can have one for each combined human.
Garp to save Koby from Blackbeard then meets his demise, the shock from that will awaken Conqueror's Haki for Koby, just like the shock of losing all memories about Robin, then the probability of completely forgetting Luffy, awakened Observation Haki for Usopp.
Wdym by losing memories for Robin?
Everyone previously lost their memories of Robin when she was turned by Sugar.
Ohhh 😯
I'm kinda curious, what kind of theory were made about Haki before it was formally introduced? Did they theorized it like 'Nen'?
@pure raven given that you're asking a more general question, please use #manga-serious instead
Interesting one! Definitely subverts the expectation that Shanks will be BB's main "victim".
One issue with it is that Garp is, at this point, the most likely character to channel a flashback to the God valley incident (since BM and Kaido are probably out of the picture). This would still leave BB himself as the one to expose this part of the lore, but Garp is the last main actor in the actual battle, it would be crazy not to get at least one first-hand account
This is my attempt at a normal theory... here we go. We all have been anxiously waiting to see the outcome of the Law v. Blackbeard fight, but I believe we are missing something. If the cover stories (and a few panels) have been taken into account we know that Charlotte Pudding has recently been kidnapped by Van Auger and the newest "member" Kuzan. Not only this but Coby is held hostage, as bait. Blackbeard knows that Koby was trained by none other than Garp. This is bait. I believe that BB will use Pudding to read Garp's memories of God Valley, revealing that Rocks D. Xebec is not only far more formidable than expected, but that what really happened at God Valley is much different than what Garp said. Rocks learned of Imu sama and thus was a great threat. He had to be put down, Roger and Garp didn't beat him but rather this Imu sama.
Of course this was just a quick attempt but I will try and revise it when I can. Let me know if there are any suggestions.
My theory about G5 is actually that it's not the death that made Luffy awaken. For me it seems, that Mythical Zoan awakenings should be connected to the myth of a fruit itself. But, Luffy embodied the Warrior of Liberation long ago, why didn't he awaken sooner.
So, I reread the fight again, and, in 1045, when he goes out of G5, he reenters it with a phrase: "Beat loudly again, heart". And, interestingly in 1043, just before the whole Joyboy has returned we see a panel of Luffy's lifeless body, and then focus on his chest, and a sound ba thump.
And, final thing, Nika's heartbeat, aka Drums of liberation, seem really important and one of defining characteristics of Nika awakening, but it seemingly does nothing except sound.
So, what if heartbeat is a key to activating awakening, just as pumping blood is for G2, or blowing your bones or muscles for G3 and G4? And, in the beginning of Wano, and again on a roof, we see Luffy, while being completely unconscious, use Coc. So, what if, after his heart stopped, he tried to restart it with his df powers, and it was a final trigger for awakening
im betting that "him vs him" will have something to do with shanks or blackbeard
When I re-read him vs him it seems like oda is saying we will think that numerous times. Like a battle royale of people running into each other
So i don't think Oda is hyping up one "him" inparticular, so I'm not inclined to think shanks is fighting just yet. Considering he's the biggest "that guy" we've never seen in action
thats why he needs to put him in
Atlas fed Luffy, Atlas was hurt and Atlas had the light gloves. The set up is already there.
For Luffy to remember Atlas while fighting Kisaru, get the gloves, and bring back...
AFRO LUFFY G5 VERSION

There's already been a reference to Gomu Gomu no Baku Baku, Afro Luffy wouldn't be the weirdest thing
Vegapunk seemed to have a warping tech, and the clothes were the same as Luffy's, like... if it were a hologram, why would it get stuck? need the same clothes? have the same shoes mechanisms to do the things he does?
I do like these panels 👇 I like them in general, but you guys might be able to use them for this as well. @candid stratus
Thing is tho, none of the other gloves seem to have the circles I colored yellow here 👇
And while Atlas was able to touch the holograms we don't see the holograms themselves interact back with the environment like how Vegapunk is leaving a dust cloud while running ig
yeah VP is most likely not a hologram indeed, to many things indicating he isn't
@raw laurel try to DM Kirosh2 on the subreddit. That'll make sure the message reaches the right people.
How many supporting details do we have to support the Crocomom theory? I find it quite funny.
oda trolled us hard now till he decided to show off another awakened zoan we dont know wheter the clouds are a sing of awakening or not
Boils down to Ivankov for the gender-change, and Croco's behavior at Marineford after Luffy's Dad was revealed (to the world) as Dragon for the 'mom' part. Ohara has a decent video on the topic. To summarize: Croco has a secret past that Ivankov knows about. Since Ivankov can change people's gender, and works with the revolutionaries, the theory goes that Crocodile was biologically a female member of the revos who has a child with Dragon (who had kept his last name hidden) before leaving the revolutionaries and changing genders. While initially hostile to Luffy, Crocodile becomes very protective and supportive during the paramount war coincidentally after Luffy's revealed to be Dragon's son.
I'm a huge fan of the theory as well but there's not too much more to say about it here. Croco's recent appearances have not dropped any hints so it's pretty much just a matter of ensuring every fan out there is aware of the theory (usually by acting like it's been confirmed in the 'manga' channels)
I support the fem Croc side of the theory, the Crocomom theory not as much. Although, there are some pieces of evidence:
Fem Croc: Crocodile clearly has a large focus on gender (baroque works system), while noticeably being fine with an okama (Mr. 2 Bon Kurei) in his organization. He also looks rather androgynous as a child and is the only character whose face wasn't shown in Chapter 0.
Now, for Crocomom. The Marineford evidence has been stated above, but he also lacks a ring on his ring finger, despite the rest of his fingers having rings on them. I can't remember much more as the moment, but I'll add more if this becomes a discussion
I'm not sure I believe in the Crocomon theory either, but I just want to point out that the fact that he lacks a ring on his ring finger when he has one on the others could signify a messy break-up
I actually didn't notice the rings but that could very well also be proof in favour of the theory. Oda specifically not putting a ring there because for example Dragon and fem Croco had a massive argument and broke up or whatever. So he now doesn't wear a ring on the finger. Another thing that supports Crocomom is Ivankov's connection to Dragon and the change of heart that Croco has towards Luffy. Like beforehand he didn't know Luffy was Dragon's son but when he learnt that he actively helped Luffy. The one big thing going against this theory is Obviously if Crocomom were true Croco would have to know of giving birth to Luffy. Would he really forget and not doubt it but hey anything is possible
I just realised Donkey wrote the same shit I just did above
I am sorry for me being blind
One theory that I saw was that Croc peaced out while Luffy was still a baby, thus not recognizing him. He might not have known Dragon's surname either, because iirc even Ivankov and Sengoku referred to him as just "Dragon"
Yeah only the closest people to Dragon know his full name. For all we know they could've had a short fling and Croco got pregnant, gave birth and dropped off baby Luffy at Dragon and buggered of because it's not his problem
We still don't know if Garp is Dragon's biological dad or do we?
We don't officially, but I find it nearly impossible for this to not be the case.
I mean there are multiple ways since the japanese culture also has a custom where daughters husband is adopted into her own family to inherit companies etc. So Garp could be actually Luffys moms paternal father
This is completely based on the conversation between roger and garp where roger was convinced that garp will take ace in.
So that would make Crocodile daughter/son of Garp
I am joking but if all of the above theories were correct then this would have to be the case
I don't really care about the crocmom or femcroc theories even if femcroc theory is kinda plausible. crocmom is just stupid, you get the only mother who has survived childbirth after big mom and you're gonna make her one of the biggest bads out there who tried to kill luffy multiple times? Oh please.
I don't think it's that bad tho it can be argued to be true. I think it's very unlikely yes but I also think it's in the realm of possibility
I really haven't read any plausible ideas that croc would be luffys mom, it just doesnt work
Well there were a bunch of reasonable arguments above, if you don't like those then
there's more out there but those should be enough to at least open the possibility
You really think Revo!Fem!Crocodile didn't know the whole name of Dragon when they were romantically involved? The whole thread hangs on that bit.
I think it's completely possible yes
käää
Just the datalog or whatever that says "born as Garp's son"
Follow up, here is my Dragon theory: #manga-theories message
And follow up explanation why Garp's actions support it: #manga-theories message
Forgot to check back on this after the Crocomom comment, so happy reading the discussion that followed! 🤟 All
Revos are terrible at sharing, as evidence by Robin being with them for 2 years without learning about the aftermath of Ohara (they should have let her of all people know) and the Sabo shenanigans that border on continuity error.
One way to explain these things could be that the revos, due to the secretive nature of their mission, share only the strict necessary info even with one another. It would make sense for their leader not to go around telling everyone he's the son of the hero of the Marines, a lot more sense than any of the Robin stuff which no one bats an eye at (when trying to refuse Crocomom into their heart)
This being said i don't think i could convince you: the reasons you cited here are actually the ones that many of us zealots love so very much about this theory. One of the only living mothers and this whole time we knew her as a manly man who almost killed Luffy! It would be so weird!
But I can see how that weirdness can be off-putting. I'm not just using religious terminology for comedic effect: I'll be the first to recognize that the core of Crocomom is faith-based. Some facts just happen to line up, but even I somehow secretly wish the truth is never revealed and we can keep manifesting this dreamt-up madness like people of the past dreamt devil fruits into existence
Very well said. Iirc Ivankov didn't even know about Dragon having a child. He seems to have been one of the top three members of the revos up until Sabo came into the scene and he didn't know about Dragon's child? This itself proves that there is a lot of secrecy around dragon and it wouldn't be a surprise if he hadn't told his full name to his partner.
Exactly! Especially if it's a Bonnie and Clyde type of romance where they were "partners in crime" so to say. Croco might have even transitioned and left without ever telling Dragon who, for all we know, has no idea where his lover is now
It's also possible he wouldn't know about Croco changing genders. If the secret Ivankov knows is that he changed his gender it is possible Croco mostly fears that he would tell that to Dragon as that could be something Ivankov promised not to tell.
All of this makes sense
Thanks
I mean it's applaudable that you're calling yourself zealots and acknowledging the faith based basis on the theory and that's a thing that makes the One Piece Theories Community great
this is not a theory but I'm here to just say if theres any arc for there to be a admiral flashback this arc would be about the perfect time for kizaru, also it'd be very oda like to see the admiral we've seen probably the least about/least understanding motives get a backstory flashback first so we can almost fully grasp his goals as a admiral.
Does anyone have ideas what gear 6 could be? Gear 5. Certainly can't be the last one
gear 5 / nika seams like the last
i mean nika was considered the Sun God
Awww I was hoping for a G6 thought it could be an extension of G5
Not sure if this is a theory or a guess but here's what I got to say:
So looking back at chapter 1060, the map used by imu, when he striked out lulusia on the map is most likely uranus, based on these following facts:
Doflamingo heard about some kind of treasure in mary geoise and he wanted to steal it badly enough, to the fact he went hunting for the op op fruit (other than the reason he wanted it to become immortal), and I'm sure doffy isn't the type of guy to go after something unless it's important.
Now some argue that the map was just for showing off, or imu used his own devil fruit (if he has one), and that the treasure mentioned isn't uranus, but we won't know until further information.
I think Kuma is perfectly fine, and that the Kuma we’ve seen has just been a seraphim type thing
Carrot will show up in elbaf because zunisha will be in elbaf

as the famous theory that the good guys' plan is to destroy the red line and unite the seas to create all blue etc etc... then the world government is trying to do the same thing, but instead of the red line they want to destroy the whole grand line. Devil fruits probably came from the ancient kingdom and in order to annihilate all the devil fruit users they would have to gather all of them at one place, they even built the perfect "prison" for this (calm belt). Pirates certainly can't go back through the reverse mountain because of the flow of the water and they also can't go through calm belt, sea kings will kill them. The previous poseidon had probably something to do with it. People with devil fruit powers sooner or later tend to travel to the high seas, the grand line, this project could have taken years until it is kind of confirmed that most people with devil fruit powers are in the grand line. The end game will probably be devil fruit users vs world government, and that's why the marines will join pirates, because the world government eventually will have to annihilate the marines too.
Everyone seems to think the straw whats are gonna clash with kizaru... I think the straw hat grand fleet is going to intercept them
Omg mate this makes so much sense, If this is what actually happens, this would be awesome
any theory who vegapunk asked for help in the latest chapter?
dragon but for me its just speculation no evidence, if he doesnt appear here i think atleast elbaf.
i doubt its dragon tho. cuz its said that they were in the island alrdy.
yeah, it might be someone new
...No idea, my money are on two things.
One, some of his former science-squad teammates (the ones that aren't in prison anyway).
Two, Cross Guild.
You already know Garp is meeting Whitebeard soon
you mean whitebeard finna laugh at black beard in hell
The way the person in the phone answered doesn’t sound like croc or anyone with a big ego
- I was legit thinking of enel because of the links between Enel, the space pirates & the moon, ohara, and vegapunk
but then vega mentions that he's a man who has been hiding from the government, which is least probably to be enel because he was born a skypiean if I'm not wrong, and he never recieved a bounty which could mean that the government or at least the marines arent aware of him. So i neglected the belief that it could be enel
- My thoughts are it could be either Scopper Gaban or Shiki
I dont see why scopper would be hiding, he could literally be living just like Rayleigh because he never posed a threat to the gov since the roger pirates disbanded
But then we get to shiki, and we know for a fact, that the government knows that he was planning something against the gov for years. He also escaped impel down by himself, and was the first one to even do so. So i think it makes sense that he's constantly being chasen down and needs a place to hide
I'm also not assuming that it's a new character because if i remember correctly there hasnt been any brand new major characters, oda has just been revealing more of the mystery major characters recently that he hasnt showed us much of. Like shanks, vegapunk, blackbeard, greenbull, bonney, the revolutionaries and soon garp
honestly i think shiki is a good shout
This is not the way shiki would answer. Or half the guys that are getting suggested for that matter.
Not to mention shiki appearing would need some kind of a acknowledging what happened in the movie and Oda has heavily avoiding canonizing the movies. Have you seen the Uta pannel? Couldn’t include a character less in the manga than that without not including them. He definitely doesn’t want to mess with movie characters in the manga.
The translators also don't know who this person is so it's much harder for them to get the tone of the person correctly. Saying who this is by this one line of text is next to impossible. I would also suggest talking about this in the other channels
How does this channel work? I can’t find it in the pin or rules. I thought here people posted theories and they were discussed
you're not wrong, but after a while its common to move continuous discussion out to #manga-serious
The channel description is on the top next to the channel name. This is for more long in depth theories like the ones that are pinned. this is more for manga-serious as Kiritard proposed
My best bet would be a Lunarian (a new character) that has been hiding in Egghead and working with Vegapunk.
Vegapunk would have used this person to develop the Seraphim. Yes he should have King's DNA, but who knows if that's enough to make Lunarian clones of people.
Lunarians are hunted down by the World Government, and because of the absurd bounty offered for any information on them, people would sell them out without caring for the reasons. Vegapunk however, as a figure of knowledge and reason, would know the truth about Lunarians and would recognize the value of having this person on his side.
The topic of Lunarians is one of the newest in the story, having been introduced very recently and being a major factor now with the Seraphim. Oda clearly is going somewhere with this. We have yet to hear any character use the name "Lunarian" in reference to the Seraphim. We'll probably get a scene in which their nature is revealed to the crew. Having an actual Lunarian show up could be the trigger.
lol, i had the same thought today and just typed it out in manga-serious, just to see it beeing posted here haha
Could also be just another Seraphim of A character that Vegapunk has developed in secret.
so rocks might be a goody guy thats actually really good theory
Kaido Clone? It has to be someone whos Lineage factor VP has access to could be anyone really, as he seem sto be able to get blood from Impel Down prisoners
Kaido clone without the awakened dragon form would be so funny but I think Doffy could work as well. But it's necessarily not a seraphim since seraphim cannot take orders over den den mushi
exactly. i think Salmy Gondy is right
But we are getting closer and closer to the revelation that Garp and Kuzan are SWORD
Or Roger Clone, remember that Vega could have access to his DNA before the execution
anyone from Impel Down really haha
Well, yes ahaha... Wait that mf did a Buggy Clone!

@gritty kite this channel's topic sums up its purpose; this channel's for serious long-form discussions on the community's theories, like the ones pinned. For general thoughts like the ones you've brought up, #manga-serious would be a better place for it.
@light onyx please add evidence/reasoning to support your theory. Else, please use #manga next time
@pallid snow don't just post a video as-is in this channel. Please provide a summary of the video's theory and go over things like it's premise and some of the evidence/reasoning it uses in text. Feel free to repost that video with that summary.
Regarding the discussion on who VP was talking to, please use #manga-serious moving forward for general brainstorming. If you have a more specific theory on it and think you have considerable evidence/reasoning to support it, please feel free to bring it up here.
Please refrain from using manga-theories for joke theories, casual chit-chat, power scaling, bounty predictions or low-effort memes. Yeah yeah I've been told this before if I can remember I think I said it here before I just can't find it
Anyways too tired to write
That's fine. Once you feel like you've gathered a substantial amount of evidence/reasoning, feel free to post your eyepatch theory here. Till then, shorter thoughts/ideas you want to share are better put in #manga-serious
So looking over this i have two or three things I understand from this panel .
- if we saw the den den mushi we would know the person who is this ally right away
- The shadowing covers the top so cant tell if has a top receiver and we can see the left with a speaker from the looks of it.
- The most important in my opinion is that if we could see the eyes even if silhouetted we could identify them.
So my dumbass looked at all of the den den mushi and only two have anything weird with the eyes that you could make out even if shaded.
So surprisingly i dont think its doffy at all bit kuma again is a good fit as we have not seen the other side at all
Sabo or Rodger’s other commander is at egghead. At the red line where kuma is , this is either sabo. Or kuma simply taking revenge on the celestials as his programming is to resume his life choices of hating celestials
I think Gaban will be the man Vega Punk calls, we saw on Rodgers ship they had a massive egg at one point and the name of the island is egg head soooo
that panel of the denden mushi
at which angel are we seeing this? at first i thought we see this from the side
but i think we looking at this from the back
Yep id agree 100%
and i agree the top part of the snail is not shown for a reason
its either glasses or eyebrows like garps snail
Yea i filtered out garp sengoku and jimbei as they dont fit due to current info
That's actually part of an in-depth theory about the Hito Hito no Mi model Nika
I believe kuma crashing into the redline is the same situation as the Ancient Giant 200 yrs ago. Perhaps vegapunk transplanted something from the AG into kuma (fuel source related) and thats why hes going to climb the redline. Would also make sense as why Vegapunk says to bonney that he cant turn her dad back to normal.
I also think kumas dead when he gets top redline by akainu or something, which would inspire bonney/strawhats to be curious about what powered him to go there etc and have vega explain what he did to kuma (transplanting AG parts into kuma), then bonney would align with either SH or rev army.
i can see that
woah I love the subtle GL being a prison (DF sieve) concept. the villains defo seem like ppl who do sh at a world scale, so it makes sense for even the GL to have been manipulated into existence some way
yeah if you see it that way, once in there is no way out of grand line, unless you have a marine ship
The one piece is joyboys grave hidden from the government including the island hidden. There rodger saw joyboys grave and realised he could not live up to joyboys wishes as he was soon passin. Therefore he challenged the world to make it to there hoping that someone could take joyboys wishes and fulfil them
That would be cool
Roger said Joyboy did leave treasure on 'Laugh Tale' and he also left his own treasure there. Roger knew he was too early because to live up to the wishes of Joyboy he needed Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus (all 3 despite being ancient weapons are controlled by someone too). Poseidon to fulfill the wishes and dreams of generations of fishman and merfolk to live on the surface once again, Pluton for the destruction of the Red Line (which leads into the All Blue ) and we still don't know anything concrete about Uranus.
The person dying isnt going to be garp or bb . This is yet again oda misleading slightly to throw off the theories
Yh I should’ve been clearer how I meant Rodger treasure is there as well as what i explained. He didn’t need the ancient weapons and the last part of that is good but I personally don’t rly like that to be the ending . Seems so obvious and with Oda being oda would like a twist or something there
I agree, i still think it will be a feast tbh that it ends on
Theory: I think that the unknown person is not person it can be the group of people's or Rocks D. Xebec because it was not confirmed that he is dead or not and as in manga they mentioned that the mysterious person/persons can easily handle the attacks of seraphems and he has a combined power of CP0 so I think there is a chance of Rock d. Xebec Or Sabo I am saying sabo because dragon or vegapunk have a lot of friendship between them say will happen that when dragon heard that the vegapunk was in danger then he send sabo as a mysterious man to help vegapunk in egghead..
I don't think it will be Rock's I think it can be an Roger pirate or a revolutionary as it is also said he will get in trouble too
Yep, I also thought and it can be true
Any theories on The race Kuma is? Is it possible that Blackbeard is the same race?
BLOOD IS THICKER THAN WATER

Due to his childhood experiences with Garp, Luffy has developed a fear of him, but has also grown to love him and still sees him as his grandfather. He wished that things could have been different, that he didn't have to choose between his family and his best friend, his role model. But he knew that he had to do what was right, even if it meant making the hardest decision of his life.

Zoro asked Sanji to deal with the old man, pointing out that Sanji's fighting skills were a match for the old man. The two argued, but the old man taunted them both. The old man rushed towards them...
Request to pin @modest skiff
Which old man?
im not good at theorie stuff but imma try something !
Hear me out ! Vegapunk he cant turn Kuma back because the kuma that crashed into the red line was the first pacifista with an artificial devil fruit and the real kuma is the person he was talkin to on the den den mushi !!! does that makes sense XD
The guy he was talking to is Scopper Gaban unless proved otherwise
Exactly.. we'd recognize Gaban's goggles even if it's a silhouette
I second that
Gaban is known for his distinctive pair of axes, which serve as his iconic weapon of choice. When he throws these axes, it is a clear indication that it is Gaban, as they are a defining characteristic of his identity. His second iconic look is his black sunglasses. Well, he will use in the second scene talking to the whole Straw Hat Pirates.
That's actually a pretty interesting idea. Kuma's powers do mean he could scatter CP0.
I'm low key looking forward to Luffy punching Kizaru.
Do you think it could be, that the one Piece is a weapon wich is able to destroy the whole red Line, but only Humans with the Letter ,,D“ are able to use it. So after the using. The whole Wrld. Gov Dudes are dead and the four diffrent oceans (East-, West-, North- and Southblue) are connected to a big one. The all Blue wich to find is the dream of Sanji
The eve tree at marijois grants the celestial dragons immortality because what could imu give a king which they already didn't have. This is also shown was in fishman island(right below marijois) there is a box which takes the drug user's life span away, and it is located near the roots of the eve tree so this musts mean that at the top there is the eve tree which releases bubbles like the ones the celestial dragons use to provided them immortality. And how come the gorosei never age
I feel that the One Piece is something to be achieved... like a deed or an act.
But as Oda confirmed that there is a treasure at the end of Laughtale.... I believe that the treasure is the real Binks sake which will help achieve "One Piece"
either that or the straw hats etc all leading their own things . Either with a new government led by new ppl etc. Or as a pirate crew leading different sections
The treasure which has been called one piece can be paralleled to the gold found in skypiea(city of gold) . They were only able to find the gold after defeating the enemies on the island .If we consider such then the one piece will most likely be a tangible treasure and can only be collected after defeating the enemies that stand in the way which in this case would be the celestial dragons and imu. Since I cannot fathom any other reason luffy would go to war with the world government if not it has direct correlation to his journey. And I don’t believe there’s gonna be another situation like robins either so the prospect of it being for a treasure in mariejois makes it more confirming to the character of luffy.
Koby and Garp dont die. They are instead held for public execution by blackbeard in which akainu wont send all marines due to garp going off on his own. So will be a battle royale of Sword members, Straw hats and allys, good marines who will help e.g. Fuji etc, and pirates wanting to try gain status off of confusion and weakness (like bb at summit war)
Very unlikely
well i dont see how a fight with them will go down without them either all dieing or all living. Blackbeard isnt just gonna let the others escape
and to kill off both koby and garp wont rly make too much sense unless there is a chance for a fight to save at least one of them
hence a public exe since bb is to show off his crews power now they are all df holders of obscure powers
Well maybe a reenactment of god valley. After all bb pirates are very reminiscent of rocks pirate as they both hv a broken set of crew members and are coming together to form a similar climax . Well if we see harps shadow in koby and rogers shadow in luffy it kinda makes sense.
true which would also line up blackbeard to public exe rocks killer. Therefore revenge on marines for killing rocks as well ig
I have a question.
I read a few reddits post and the only reference I can find is; Kuzan.
Kazan has lost his leg. That's fair. But I would say judging from how his ice form leg is; it was completely molten.
So my question is this; going by that I believe that all logia users can reattach limbs if they are cut by haki users.
they can certainly fill the gap of their limb with their element yea
it just may not work as effectively for everyone
like smoker probably couldn't do that
Yeah, ice leg or arm makes sense since ice is solid but smoke leg or arm won't work because smoke isnt solid
I doubt all the Celestial dragons are immortal. I do believe the gorosei and imu are. The only canon mechanism for immortality that’s confirmed is Law’s Ope Ope nomi. My favorite theory on all this is that the gorosei have all had this operation over the last 800 years
BB might be using Koby as bait to lure in Garp so he can use Pudding to get memories of God Valley
One piece is always getting better i love it , oda can go any direction he wants and it will only cook things up further
all 3 luffy kid and law are somehow correlated right now , i just wonder how all 3 will come together or what
With the recurring theme of inherited will transcending biological family, I've been wondering if Xebec/Teach are blood relatives of Joyboy. Basically continuing to subvert the expectation that being good or evil is a matter of genes, and reinforcing Roger/Luffy inheriting the true will of someone they're not related to
Black beard can have as much devil fruit as he want
Blackbeard devil fruit is a very special devil fruit and actually has a hidden ability, he can use his devil fruit and suck ability of other devil fruit user and have there abilty but he needs the body of the df user. So like if he defeats sabo he can choose to have the mera mera fruit or no.

There's still one place you're forgetting to mention. The City of Gold was in Skypiea, The City of Emerald is an unknown and the One Piece is on Laugh Tale (they were mentioned in that order too). The One Piece is a treasure (ie gold) but the common understanding/ theory is that it's more than that. Luffy wants to become the freest pirate so naturally, his enemy is the WG. I think the treasure of marijoea is either Uranus or it's a power and Uranus is on Elbaf (ie the egg on Roger's ship).
I'm currently compressing a 5 page theory that is massively connected to Im, Blackbeard, Devil Fruits, Kuma, and Dragon. I've compiled everything that I've gathered together with the evidence that is connected to those characters.
I posted a headcanon/theory yesterday on Reddit;

900 years back in the void
The true motive of shanks
One piece is a treasure which can only be obtained if a joyboy of that generation is alive so roger when he reached laugh tale said that if he was born in joyboys time and shanks knew to unlock the one piece treasure the main key is the awakening of the nica fruit which can only be awakened by a D clan member so he planned all this along and the chapter were he stated its time to find the one piece was because he sensed the awakened nica fruit and that one piece treasure is opened
All blue is implied to already exists though, when sanji found a fish in a market, that did not belong to the sea they were in
for me, all blue is beneath reverse mountains. All the sea stream already cross at the top, so there should be some kind of underground sea tank with a passage toward all the different seas, even the name " reverse mountain" implies that there might be some kind of stuff going on or about to happen with the place
for me all blue is where sanji and zeff survived (the rock in the middle of the ocean) bcz there is all sort of fish and the location is still secret (bcz oda don’t wanna break sanji’s dream)
This Is a theory about devil fruits that devil fruits go along said your personality and If you have multiple personalitys you can have multiple devil fruit
That why black bread can have multiple devil fruit because it has been implied by zoro and luffy that he has more than one personality
Can I share a theory I have based on chapter 1071?
Stop it lmao, the all blue will exist when the Red Line is destroyed by/ with Pluton. For Luffy to becomes the freest pirate it sets up the dream of the All Blue because then you can travel all around the Grand Line.
Ok, so now that I got the Green Light, Here's my theory>
I think the one ally that Vegapunk mentioned in the recent Chapter is Tom. Impressed by Tom's revolutionary sea train and engineering skills, Vegapunk saved the shipwright by recruiting him from Impel Down. This would align with how multiple plot points from Water 7 are converging on Egghead like Dragon, Vegapunk, Saul, and CP9/0.
So I came into theory. I mean I want to ask questions. In the recent chapter, Garp will save Coby that being kidnapped by BB. So for Luffy teams, they will depart from Egg island with Vegapunk if they success escaped from marines army. And with Sabo, we dunno his condition because he is assumed dead with Im destroyed the Lulucia island at that time. But I think Sabo is somewhere. Do you guys think Sabo will be with BB?
And next Luffy will be heard about this and head to save Coby or Sabo?
Then it will be a war to save Luffy family again. Sabo-Coby-Garp. I mean if Garp is losing to save Coby.
Then this will be all the Straw Hat grand fleet will come into action to fight with Luffy? That this is the upcoming war that no one can foreseen since the grand fleet been formed in Dressrossa?
Anybody agreed with this? Or other theories for next chapter of One Piece?
To go to Winner island, Luffy has to travel back i think rather the forwards. Why would Sabo be with BB? The SHGF won't come into play until the final war.
we don't know if law is captured tho
but law has been captured multiple times before so i won't be surprised lol
Mabey something to do with the eve tree mabey the CDs
Law maybe but yes Coby and Pudding he's got right now.
Yeah I agree, I don't think Sabo is with BB, I mean, the last time we saw Sabo, he got nuked by imu so why and how would Sabo turn out to be with BB
I think Ive read on previous chapter that BB has been at Lulucia Island when Ace searching for him. But thats when in the past. And we dunno where BB and his subordinate would been now.
So next maybe Garp-sabo incident. The luffy team also dunno where the last ponegliff. That they already got 3. And about Kid going to Giant island.
Ahh, sabo-Coby incident. My mistake. Also we dunno if there are hidden characters will come up. Or maybe new Straw Hat members. Even tho Jimbei just joined the crew. Jimbei is like father to Luffy. I really respect him and his way guiding Luffy before the time skip and the current.
D ok you guys think vegaphnk js the traitor working with the government to trap the straw hats
Prob a pretty stupid theory but it somehow makes some sense in my head... so you prob heard of the theory that zoro i somehow attracted to the one piece like a magnet... what if the last missing porneglyph is a living being -> zoro
I mean maybe but if the road phone glyph probably isn’t as human because a human can’t have stayed alive 800 years
I think that the last road pneglyph might be in mariejoa
No.
If it was, it would've been destroyed and the whole search would be pointless
So I disagree on that
well i wont say destroyed
do we know if they can even destroy it? specially the road glyphs
i'm pretty sure it was mentioned that poneglyphs cant be destroyed
also the last road glyph was last seen in FMI right?
formerly protected by WB then after BM but its not there anymore
Yeah true, forgot about that, thanks for pointing that out
Could Elbaf Arc be the arc where Luffy and Kidd will fight for poneglyph and knowledge?
Is obvious that Blackbeard has defeated or killed Law?
After Egghead arc, could Bonney appear in Elbaf Arc or not?
What could be Urouge's role ? Elbaf Arc or being Blackbeard's ally?
Did Kuma crash himself on redline to make the world know Marijoie's dirty works ?
What about Luffy Kid Urouge and Bonney in Elbaf Arc
its a one piece mystery, some theorise it is uranus.
others say its a sea king, we don't know anything about for now
that sucks, i was seaking an answer
nice pun
You know how in court it’s “innocent until proven guilty”? I think in one piece theories for mystery characters it’s “Gin or Scopper until proven otherwise”
lmaoo yess
the dialuge bubble in 1071 hides the den den mushi who vegapunk was speaking to, which means a mysterious person who is always gin or scopper till oda suprises us
ussop isn't a full fledged liar, his observation haki is just too powerful so he accidently peeks into the future without his knowledge
his goldfish lie came true
his beautiful swordswoman with meat lie came true (rebecca)
30 million bounty lie came true
he visited the island of dwarves in tonttata land
i mean
I'm kinda wondering if Kizaru can do something to Luffy. Luffy was able to hold a lightning zap into his hand, which is condensed light electricity... what if he could catch all of Kizaru's light beam and do whatever he wants with it ? xD
There is a theory that Blackbeard possesses multiple devil fruits by giving their powers to his rings. Because there are five rings on his left hand, I think he will have either 4 or 5 devil fruits by the time luffy fights him at the end of the series.
1: Dark Dark Fruit (May have just been eaten normally and gives him the ability to quickly harvest devil fruits)
2: Quake Quake Fruit (Previous user Whitebeard)
3: Shadow Shadow Fruit (Previous owner Gecko Moriah)
4: Ope Ope Fruit (Previous owner Law)
5: The last fruit Blackbeard will want to take is Luffy's fruit. At one point, Ace's Flame Flame Fruit may have also been one of the fruits he wanted on his rings.
Maybe he will only have three fruits. His flag has three heads, so that hints at something. But, I think that it would be cool if Blackbeard had an infinity gauntlet style hand that just gave him the most upsurd devil fruit abilities. I also think that Blackbeard will have extremely powerful haki. Him fighting garp will show that his devil fruits won't be his only threat.
Here is a theory about the planet/geography.
What if the world originally had 2 "red lines"? One that was where the Grand Line is now was destroyed and that's where all the islands came from.
It is known that the red line is basically like a bunch of islands put together, like how different sections all have different seasons.
The ancient kingdom could've been on this other red line, or even where reverse mountain currently is. Maybe reverse mountain was a result of what happened when it got destroyed.
Could make sense , and jumping from this theory , it could be it was broken up to give more freedom and whatnot,
tho i personally subscribe to the red line was made from islands
And reverse mountain seems too perfect to go over the red line imo so its definitely not natural, but thats my opinion 🤷🏻♀️
Here is a theory about how the story will play out from here to the start of a possible elbaf arc (this theory is 100% a reach btw so don't even take it seriously I just came up with it on a whim)
So seeing in the most recent chapter (1071 as of making this theory) we've got a lot of moving pieces with kidd going to elbaf, garp going to go fight blackbeard, a traitor among (no) the vegapunk's and a new hidden ally for the little vega-strawhat alliance, so first I'm going to start off by saying this new ally DOES NOT MATTER IN THIS THEORY, I know right kinda crazy but no matter who this ally is, we can assume that they're somebody important, personally my bet is kuma but that's beside the point, point is this ally will most likely FAIL in stopping the pursuer's and the crew will have to step in to stop them, probably splitting up as they always do in every arc (I mean they already have) and considering the amount of marine ships there they'll probably hop into egghead, this'll probably lead to strawhat's fighting a bunch of marines, luffy maybe encountering kizaru who knows, whats important is that a strawhat or vegapunk might hear that luffy's grandfather is going rogue and is taking ships to go fight blackbeard to take back captain koby (this is something that would most likely happen as it risks alot of things such as the life of garp, koby, alot of other marines and a war with a yonko, whilst they're also fighting A YONKO ALREADY) when this SH/VP hears this, when the allies meet back up information will spread to luffy and luffy's first thought will be to stop his grandfather, luffy knows all too well that going to save koby would end in his grandfathers death, and result is further more chaos, and while luffy would want to go with his grand-father to save koby as he's a dear friend of his, luffy probably already see's the signs that it's giving a whole paramount war v2 vibe, so a few things could happen after luffy confronts his grandfather
- he stops his grandfather, koby dies, and luffy goes on to elbaf, this feels like the most un-oda like option and lazy one.
- he decides that in order to prevent a second paramount war situation, he GOES with his grandfather to fight blackbeard, and while they succeed in saving koby, it's in turn at the life of garp, this prompt's luffy's hatred and anger towards blackbeard and he hurts blackbeard real bad to the point where he has to run away from beehive island, which he runs away to elbaf, a giant island with plenty places to hide, which has also been made to believe where the final road poneglyph is in road to laugh tale, starting the elbaf arc
- Garp ignores luffy, continues and luffy follows his grandfather to stop him, going to blackbeards island in order to stop this entire ordeal shanks style, (and I'm not gonna repeat my self cause from here it's just the second option where koby is saved garp dies blackbeard runs away yada yada, this is imo the most oda like option and best writing-wise since it shows luffy's emotional growth and experiences and trauma's from losing his brother.)
and then the funny elbaf arc starts yay (also the marines are totally chasing them throughout all this options theres no doubt about it)

Dk if it’s been said. But regarding BB two devil fruits. What if he used the “green blood” from WB to gain his DF powers? So technically he only has one?

As I stated just before your message, all blue is implied to exist. Sanji dreamt about it because I heard about it, if it did not exist he wouldn't have heard about it. It's not something he made up. Plus, there is a passage were he find a fish on a market that wasnt supposed to be in the sea they were in, which convinced him that all blue exist and is true, and thus, already exists in the OP world. Mystery is where it can be located, my bet is beneath reverse mountain.
Pretty sure it was explained that fish go through reverse mountain at times. That’s why the All Blue being in the world already is believed to be false but if the All Blue does exist could it be it’s connected to Laugh Tale
Laugh tale is near reverse mountain anyway. So there is defo a connexion ( since reverse mountain is the end of the Grand line ). I bet that there is an underwater current that bring ppl under Reverse mountain and that's were all blue is because all the sea cross at the top but also beneath
DogooLord
All Blue probably did exist, then the Celestial dragons made the Red Line and covered it up for their control over the world
Not sure the Celestial did the Red Line TBH. It looks like joy boy or whomever hide laugh tale wanted to challenge the one that would find it on a precise path at a precise moment. It seems everything was engineered for a special moment by whomever wanted the one to reach laugh tale. If the Celestial do not know where is laugh tale, they would have never conceived a sea and red line with laugh tale at the end. its like the world was designed to hide it from the WG and Pluton ( to avoid destruction )
Yeah the problem right now is we know very little about the void century.
But there were past theories where All blue existed during Joy boys time but was "destroyed" when the red line was made and there was also a theory a DF was used to make the red line/calm belts as well
LMFAOOOOO
Wow
This is more of a small addendum to a common theory:
Many have suggested (with great arguments) that pyroglobin/seastone may be related to the endless fuel known in ancient times that VP dreams of figuring out. If that turns out to be true, then I think the poneglyphs (that are speculated to be made from related materials) could actually hold significant enough amounts in them to actually represent tons of energy output. What's more, the red material of the Road Poneglyphs could be an even richer source of this energy.
As we know from real life, and even our fictional planet, energy is a pretty neat thing to have. People are willing to spend quite a lot for it in fact.
So my theory is that the immense wealth said to be in the One Piece treasure is actually the true value of the materials that make up a potentially large stash of poneglyphs (something that has also been theorized to be part of the treasure already). There would be a nice little irony in having these ancient artifacts prized for the knowledge they carry turn out to carry surprising material value as well (the twist is usually done the other way around). And what an elegant solution for the Ancient Kingdom than to pass down both their history and technological treasure within the very same objects.
The overall direction the story can take with this is that the material is needed for endless energy, and our heroes' actions will lead, in part, to these Poneglyphs ending up spread somewhat equitably around the world (as opposed to controlled by only a few), and that the people will be able to repurpose them to make energy. In fact part of what one might be able to read once all glyphs are put together is a set of instructions on just how to do that. VP's proto-internet thing could be used to share that knowledge far and wide.
do we know if the frontier dome going offline was just a malfunction or did someone sabotage
We don't know, it could be either one, but I personally think it was sabotage because of the fact Vegapunk, being as smart as he is, would've had stuff in place in the event of an malfunction of the frontier dome
But I could be wrong
but nothing was detected on his radar, would he really use a faulty creation knowing hes a perfectionist?
Since we are told the island runs on geothermal energy, and we know it is somewhat close to Wano, perhaps this is an early indication that Mt Fuji has erupted and it is diverting lava from under Egghead Island
Yeah your right. But It it could've been one of his satellites, I mean either of us could be right or wrong but I just think the whole thing with the malfunction when CP0 was there is very Sus
that sounds like a very interesting theory, but wait, arent kaido and bm in that volcano?
That makes sense actually 🤣
They were at one point. Hard to speculate what came of them
what are the chances they are still unconcious. and if they have woken up, isnt wano in danger?
If they were unconscious, I think they are definitely just melted and dead
damn
where has kuma arrived at? it seems like a government island but i cant tell which
Either way I think it would be very hot news to everyone
I looked too deep into the top theories. I can’t go back.
Started a reread for the first time and the first thing that caught my eye was chapter 22.
Roger appeared too early to “claim” his treasure and it is known that it would take 20 years for it to be claimed.
Gaimon found his treasure but it took him 20 years to actually find out that there was indeed nothing in the chests he longed to obtain.
Gaimon is Oda’s favorite character.
Devil Fruit’s are born from the dreams of people.
“One Piece is only a dream inside a dream.”
(Ignore me I’m just throwing stuff out there)
Fun catch actually
I had a joke theory how the One Pieces Japanese moniker "ひとつなぎの大秘宝" and the "人繋ぎ bit can be read one rope linking all men could be internet at this point and this was before Vegapunks proto internet. Knowledge freely shared could be really something the revos needed for their ideology to press, the same way printing press had for protestants and social media was for arab spring in the real world
ima stick to the old ass theory and say that one piece and all blue are inside of reverse mountain
thats definitly interessting, would also explain why the WG/Marines got sooo pissed when whitebeard also said that the one piece is real
just as roger said it, the pirate era started and many many people started to desire the one piece, then whitebeard just goes on and further hypes it up
It's actually kinda funny how fearful The WG is about someone finding "One Piece"/reaching Laugh Tale even when 1) about 99% of the people think it's just vast riches and bragging rights 2) There are only a few living people in the world who could actually read the poneglyphs that most likely await there 3) How could they actually utilize the knowledge that's waiting there?
I bet U the one piece is some sort of weapon that only joyboy can use
I doubt it, you can defeat weapons but you cannot defeat ideas
Good point
i dont see what joyboy has to do with that? roger was too early cause shirahoshi wasnt born yet? so far thats the only reason we know of
and also since shanks is on his way to claim the one piece, this shows that nika fruit isnt a must for whatever it is
Yeah your right didn't think about that
Three things that probably are there: true history of the world, Joyboys manifesto and somekind of blueprint what needs to be done so the Celestial Dragons can be defeated. I guess Poseidon is required for the manifesto.
i mean who knows, im not saying your wrong tbh, in the end oda can always spin it differently
Nah, your pov makes more sense than mine
Though I do think that Luffy will at some point end up fighting someone for the one piece, whether that be shanks or someone else
we know that aokiji owns garp a favor so im thinking he will give coby to garp and let him escape.
Zoro is God of death incarnation. Ik it's a reach but I think Zoro is based off Yama He is the son of the god of death in Hindu "surya" and surya is the son of the Hindu Sun God , and I solely seeing this being tru because there is already a risk of Blackbeard being the "moon god"/ Imu theory imu was created by the gods but she betrayed them won erased history, races and islands she defeated the gods and the only thing they can do is reincarnate xebec was a reincarnate I feel like he was the moon but there wasn't a sun or a moon at the time and isn't this era known to be the best up and coming as in all the previous gods are supposed to reincarnate/ Floran triangle Theory. The giants from the floran triangles are another one of the gods failed project but imu was the perfect one + imu backwards is Umi that's sea in japanese and where are all the dreams of the world supposed to flow into the sea imu wants the sea as in the world
And Roger last words were meant for the world but mainly Imu
Ik he does im saying he's a god incarnate too like luffy
#promote-yourself for huge imu theory can't post links here
During my reread I’ve come across chapter 102 when they enter Laboon.
“One Piece is only a dream inside a dream.”
(Ignore me just throwing things out there)
My theory so far is that One Piece is Joy Boy’s dream, or the dream of him and his people.
The ancient texts describe the history of the Void Century and how to travel to Laugh Tale.
On Laugh Tale is a piece of Joy Boy’s will that explains his dream (whatever that is) and how to achieve it.
Roger and Luffy share the same dream and I feel in order for their dream to be achieved they have to complete Joy Boy’s dream.
“One Piece is only a dream inside a dream”
At the moment I feel that the “Will of D” doesn’t have a singular meaning, but multiple.
Will of Dreams
Will of Desire
Will of Dawn
The clan carries the will of the past and desire to achieve their dreams in order to create a new dawn.
(Ignore me just throwing stuff out there)
I accidentally posted my theory in progress. I will post it once I finish writing it, but I noticed it does take some influence to the above theory and so I want to say I agree with what you've said and really like it.
Thanks, let me know when you post your theory
I got writers block by how complex it is to completely theorize on (because One Piece is just that complex) but basically what I wanted to say is that Dreams are the key to everything. The story has always been about making dreams come true. There are like so many references to sleeping, dreams, moons, and all of it is probably either connected or hinting towards the same meaning.
Dawn is when dreams end. Dreams only truly end when they come true. Luffy is that Dawn and Luffy will make all dreams come true. When he gets to the end of his dream all of the dreams will be fulfilled.
Blackbeard says dreams will never end and at first is sounds like a positive message because you don't want your dream to end but if it ends it's fulfilled and that's even better. It could get really weird and the one piece world itself could be a dream.
Here are some thoughts not organized well or really fully explained but it's better than not saying it at all:
I was going to get into ancient kingdom and imu, Wano's history etc. but it just got so complicated and due to the huge timeline that exists (900 years) it is just so hard to make speculation on events with next to zero hints. I do think Luffy and Zoro share something special. They both sleep a lot. I think Luffy being a D and Zoro having connections to Wano actually has relevance to the past. Like Wano being ancient allies of the ancient kingdom etc. Also maybe the D are old gods protected by the lunarians. Or something like that. Also I think BB never sleeping and other D sleeping a lot has meaning to Dreams in particular.
Maybe Blackbeard doesn’t sleep because he wants his dream to be reality, but that could contradict his saying because if you don’t sleep you won’t dream.
Although one could say that if all you do is “dream” you could never achieve said dream.
And I also think dreams and Dawn tie into each other as well.
Roger conquered the seas and thus created a new Dawn for pirates.
Rocks wanted to become king of the world and create a new Dawn under his reign.
Joy Boy dream could be to free all rac s end create a United dawn for humanity
So...is there a chance that the Lulusia Kingdom became a Sky Island???
im betting on Dawn
What’s that?
the citizens of lulusia surely are in the sky rn
The island that Imu wiped off the map. I think the reason it's gone is because she somehow turned it into one of the floating sky islands
Never heard of it
Pretty sure it's the island that Sabo fled to, to contact Dragon only to get nuked by Imu
@acoustic mural Am I right
Yessir
I had a cool idea
Not a super in depth one but just food for thought
We’ve seen Zoro encounter a manifestation of death when enma weakened him. Zoro seems to have some level of power relative to death.
What if Luffy dies in the final battle of one piece, and Zoro has to enter the domain of death to save luffy.
Remember the Post Timeskip is the reverse of Pre Timeskip saga theory by Totally Not Mark's friend? I think Egghead is the Reverse Sabaody Arc. At the first encounter instead of rescuing a mermaid, they rescued a Devil fruit user and put them into trouble instead of succeeding with ease.
The supernovas are all separated instead of meeting up in one place, the World Govt is instead causing up the trouble via CP0 trying to kill Vegapunk, the most important person in that island.
Luffy listening to Vegapunks learning what he's all about instead of Rayleigh telling Luffy about what he haerd from Shanks bout Luffy
Usopp begging Shaka and don't wanna listen stuff about the One Piece (Ancient Kingdom lore) instead of asking literal One Piece spoiler
Luffy just heard about the One Piece and didn't care bout it instead of yelling to stop spoiling
I dunno seem to be a stretch but we might predict how it would end with that.
Sorry I did this on mobile, I did not put screenshots or chapter references.
Assuming the Ancient Kingdom lore has something to do with the One Piece itself
it never existed
The will of D. is the Will of the Dead. Will can be inherited. Will can be erased. The D. Clan was formed after the near extinction of humanity during a great flood in the void century. Hiluluk explains the concept of "a man dies when he is forgotten" and Roger says "I'm not going to die" after being stabbed in the heart - the will of those who die are capable of influencing the butterfly effect of how the present world plays out. Those who are forgotten truly die, because they can no longer impact the present world through their legacy.
Wills of individuals, wills of entire societies, wills of entire eras - they all can be inherited and erased. Those who carry the Will of D are internally guided by this philosophy - they are motivated by living humans, but they are even more fired up when someone's entire legacy is on the line.
An example: Luffy needed Robin to hear she wanted to live, because he was just beginning to understand what motivates him the most, and this is inherently tied to what the Will of D. is. Luffy didn't need to know about Ohara, he could maybe "sense" that her death would lead to the extinction of an entire country, but moreso he ultimately did not want Robin's wish to go unfufilled, and she is the only one that can make that wish happen with her life.
Can you please provide a summary of what this theory is and what the gist of the evidence is? You don't need to post the entire thing, but we do ask that people at least explain what someone will be reading if they click the link, rather than just a link. Thank you!
Sure! No problem.
Oh yeah that's right, I don't know what I'm talking about, there is no such thing as the island of Lulusia
I was so confused for a second
like joy boys dead body so he could never be tested on by government
what could brook's awakening be? or have we already seen his awakening in fishman island
one piece is luffy just dreaming up adventures . when he awakens one day the dream will come to an end.
What if the ''One Piece'' doesnt exist yet? What if similar to devil fruits it needs to be dreamed of and wished for to be created/brought into the world? Thats why roger was too early. Imu sama is safeguarding that dream so that the one piece can never exist, stopping the one thing that makes it possible (luffy/rogers dream). What were Whitebeards final words? '' The One Piece is real''. What if it takes everyone of the world to dream/wish for the one piece to be real or align with that dream for it to come into existence?
Agreed....I feel One Piece is not a material thing....it's some kind of a deed or an achievement. But as Oda sensei has said that there is a treasure at the end of Laughtale..I fell that it a the real Binks Sake
The official scan release translation have somewhat narrowed down the identity of the person in hiding on egghead . Though still nothing on who this person might be comes to mind . I believe the text said that, exposing them would mean kicking them out of their home basically.
Who do you think it is then?
might be toki
TOKI???
The One Piece is a treasure, that's a fact but that may only be part of it (Joyboy left treasue there without knowing it was 'Laugh Tale' and Roger also left treasure there (as well as naming the island). Joyboy tried to use Poseidon to free the fishman too and failed hence the apology.
Toki would make a lot of sense, she’d be a treasure trove of info from the void century that vegapunk uses to inspire his inventions
Im sorry for spitting out. There will be gonna be massive plot twist I think. With many theories going around, Im geting hyped and dont want to overjoyed. The thing I am most curious is the link between Zoro and Wano Kuni. About the Straw Hat awakening Devil Fruit after Luffy and Robin. About the 3 weapons that will be destroyed the world maybe one of them is within Straw Hat or Sunny. Next past villain that will join the Straw Hat members.
Why does Blackbeard want Boa’s fruit? I think after recent revelations that devil fruits are a manifestation of people’s desires and dreams, the more fundamental desires would lead to more powerful fruits (as more people desire that particular thing). For example one of the fundamental dreams that people might have is freedom which spawned the Nika fruit. What’s the next fundamental desire ? Lust. And I think Boa’s fruit is much more powerful than we have seen and that’s why bb want it
I want to be light itself

D could also represent Uranus, and also the rising sun on the horizon, and the smile of the D. clan

I think the second Joyboy which is Luffy is different from the first Joyboy. I mean the first Joyboy as we know for example he made the promise to Fish Man and they build Noah to keep the promise to Joyboy. But Luffy destroyed it. What Im trying to say Luffy will continue the Joyboy Will but in his way.
Hurmm, Im not quite agree. There are many encounter that Luffy is nearly dying after many battles against strong opponents and he keep living either from the help of people or his will of keep living. For sure, his lifespan got reduced after Impel Down. But Luffy is still early now and I think by the end of the journey Oda will not betray us to make Luffy die easily.
alr got a bit of a theory here
So we know the old marineford now G5 and the new marineford are both other sides of marie gois. But why?
Surely having a big base near the start of the grand line wouldve been better as hardly anyone has the technology to get through the calm belts and if they do then it wont be a huge volume of lets say Pirates coming through. As well as a passage through to the new world side
However understood that the celestials need to be protected, but may it also be that they have a treasure or something they are really protecting at marie . Some sort of big secret that will come out in the final arc as a big twist oda has maybe been foreshadowing and with the appearance of kuma back at marie. Was he investigating for vega? Did he find something and went back?
thatd be sick af
Nah think that’s basically seven deadly sins at that point
It would be cool if sengoku finds out about bb vs law and from laws and sengokus previous love for donflamingos brother. Maybe sengoku goes to revenge law and goes to fight with garp . And we see a garp and sengoku vs the bb pirates
That can be. Its gonna be marine vs BB. Paramount war v2
Yh just without admirals etc
guys did anyone think or suggest that the mysterious person who vegapunk talked to could be shimotsuki ushimaru
Yeahh, or maybe they will got involved at the end
yo what happened to law and bb?
Ig depends if they get captured etc
idk why but i got a feeling its him we aren't sure if he is dead or not and the other samurai who were with yamato became giants or the numbers but none of them look like shimotsuki ushimaru so i belive he could be that person
They fighting however bb has plot armour on his side so rip law or a very injured law is my theory
Maybe and I think Oda will add some suprise element at the end of the arc. Or some surprising character that we will no be expected gonna be there
Either that or aokiji steps in or fuji potentially as its sword
I highly doubt that law is going to die
Fuji is a monster with his power has not fully shown. Hahaa. I love him to be there
My theory is fuji power boosts heavily as an awakened gravity fruit. Would seem to be OP af
i feel bad for rob lucci i thought he was finna do something to luffy ☠️
Tbf he dosent need to he just needs to take out the vegas to get the seraphine and my theory is probs will try to do that but end up just getting sat down by the straw hats
Yeahh, I cant wait to see.
So he just there to stop Straw Hat escape with vega but in the end will be wipe out by them. Egg Island will be short same same as Zou I think after battle arc in Wano.
And I hate Caribou got escape with Straw Hat ship. He just getting annoying by keep listening those info about deadly weapons.
I hope he is not. Op op devil fruit will be getting by BB and the worst outcome will come. I dunno but Im seeing BB as cowardly bastard even if he got advanced Haki or more stronger than he seems.
So with Shanks claiming the One Piece I think the final battle will be between Shanks and Luffy. Or with luffy team up with Shanks against Im the phantom god.
Are there any theories about Shanks, Gold Roger, Dragon past? I think their past is the key for future arc.

Massive Theory...
*There is no exact explanation for how the fruit ended up being eaten by Tony. Years ago, a character named Scopper Gaban landed on Drum Island while searching for a piece of wood. He accidentally mistook one of the reindeer's horns for a piece of wood and the poor, wounded reindeer was dying. Scopper, shocked and upset, put the entire fruit in the reindeer's mouth in an attempt to save it.
After being spotted by a yeti that mistook him for attacking the reindeer, Scopper left and forgot his blanket. He was later rescued by the eccentric Dr. Hiriluk, who named him Chopper based on the name on the blanket and took him in as a friend and assistant.*
??
Don't mind it...
even as a troll, how can you come up with that idea
Dude, it's cold. Gaban needs fire.
there are trees everywhere on drum island
Its freezing. No time to be picky.
and cutting a reindeer horn doesn't cause any issue. They shed every year
Chopper is a bit slow...

@merry geyser btw when I said “summary”, I meant give a synopsis of the theory’s premise and some of the evidence/reasoning around it. Obviously can’t mention any #other-series story elements. Currently it seems like you’re giving more of a preview of the theory without mentioning those details. Could you please fix that?
@upper latch don’t be rude. Either provide constructive criticism or keep comments like that to yourself.
Unfortunately no because 1. It isn’t written out yet and 2. Mohdoo is the one that curates pinned theories. Typically headcannon-heavy theories aren’t pinned due to the high level of subjectivity in it. But the decision is always handled on a case-by-case basis. So finish up your theory and we’ll see.
^ @edgy lagoon this goes to you too.
This channel is for drawn out and lengthy discussion of non-joke, high effort theories from the community. [...] messages that are decidedly low effort [...] Disregarding this rule may result in you losing your access to the channel. I think his theories are breaking the rules
Headcannon-heavy theories don’t inherently break any of those rules. Depending on the amount of headcannon involved, it may indeed limit the level of engagement the community can have with the theory, which is a trade-off. Regardless, it isn’t a problem. If you don’t like it, feel free to disengage from their posts moving forward.
I'll preface this by saying I'm a Sanji fanboy but I think Sanji vs Lucci at this stage would be fitting.
For Luffy
Luffy's passed Lucci by a wide margin. There was the initial clash but after that, Lucci failed to land any hits on Luffy and his only impressive showing was how well he could take a beating from Luffy who dominated the fight. Lucci denying Luffy's superiority over him and Luffy's status as an Emperor could be laid to rest if the Straw Hats' resident Cook and 3rd strongest bested him in combat.
For Robin
Sanji made clear he'd protect Robin from CP0 this arc, now it would be a good chance to back it up. Lucci also spewed a lot of vitriol Robin's way on the Sea Train and Sanji would probably want to pay him back for all the suffering and anguish he caused her. Not to mention Sanji would get a chance to payback his crewmate for the Black Maria incident. "I'll chase her to the ends of the Earth, " he claimed so I can see him redirecting some focus to capture her along with assassinating Vegapunk, plus he's not exactly following orders completely at the moment. Plus we could potentially get Robin vs Stussy to show she can handle herself as well.
For his own strength
It would allow Sanji to grow in strength and also make his accomplishments more impressive. He'd come out of this arc having bested one of, if not CP0's top agent, on top already beating a +1 billion berrie Commander, Queen. The Straw Hats' number 3 being this accomplishment would reflect well upon their strength as a whole as well.
Why it probably won't occur
Egghead is a relatively short, fast-paced arc and it seems to be mainly for reveals, lore-drops and to build up to the upcoming arcs. Straw Hats are already preparing to leave and even though Kizaru hasn't arrived, there might not be enough time to face Rob Lucci.
Overall, I'm just here to dump my feelings and Egghead may not last long enough for this but I hope Oda goes this route. I hope this isn't out of place/too long.
i kinda agree with you. we have yet to see his germa awakening body power potential yet
Btw. we now from Doffy's brother that the D Clan is also known as enemy of the gods. Now that we know of ancient zoans that are related to gods, could it be that the D clan are the actual sucessor of gods ?
doesn't that goes against VPs theory
I'm surprised I haven't seen this take yet. I like the idea a lot. It makes much more sense for this to happen especially if Kizaru is gonna be there as Luffy would most likely have to take him on and Zoro would have to deal with Kaku in that moment. The person that VP called for help might mix things up depending on how strong they are. We'll see. But I'd love to see Sanji beat Lucci now since as you've said he is sort of a guardian angel of the Straw hats. Fingers crossed for this one.
this is a theory that some people prolly wont like but ima just say it
i think blackbeard will get or already has a third devil fruits i saw some theories on what those could be my personal favorite is that he has an octopus zoan devil fruit more specifically a kraken mythical zoan which is why he can eat three devil fruits because octopie have 3 hearts either that or a simple answer he has three souls
that is not my theory my theory goes off of that i like the idea that blackbeard can eat three devil fruits one of each type logia paramecia and zoan and if he has eaten one or if hes going to eat a zoan in the future
my theory is how i want blackbeard too die i hope after eating a third devil fruit he will go over board and try to eat a fourth one doing so he will die amd explode leaving his head disbanded from his body and put on a stick like the real blackbeard/ edward teach
the octopus idea is cool. Would love to see a kraken based devil fruit in op

@onyx cedar also Oden is food, Aramaki means salted salmon or something.. weird coincidence!? No they're brothers
There are times that names are important. Translation of the name might help in decoding the personality or lore of a certain character. Aramaki's name is probably just based on "type of food" and it ends there. No connection to Oden.
no, i think that plot would have been played or atleast more hinted on during the wano arc I feel. Like smth with him and momo. I do still believe there’s a chance gb was in wano before in his life. Due to him being used to the terrain and stuff. But he’d be the shoguns son if he was oden related so either way everyone should know him, so I find it odd they don’t. Imo I think he was a random peasant during the kaido period when he took over. Tbh he might have been with fuji or smth
He looks exactly like Oden and in Wano it was illegal to leave the country as well so that could've been something they swept under the rug being a royal family, or just thought he was dead side his tattoo meaning. But anyways this was written a long time ago so it's a bit out dated, I was just showing Amoeba.
Yeah those perfectly sculpted brows, sharp noses, and beautiful wavy dark hair hair have nothing in common.. let alone a food name reference, since that was such a popular occurrence of the kozuki clan and within the land of Wano.
Perfectly sculpted
My nose is like that...
Joke aside, Oden and Flower guy is not related.

it was a theory tho
Obvious character traits that the character themselves confirm is not a theory.
oh my bad
I never heard this theory but I really think it could be true. it would also explain why Aramaki uses energy to reflower the land even tough he has a big fight ahead of him.
Thank you, I can't remember if I put something about that in my original theory. But with him being able to find Wano and go there so easily, since the country has been so closed off, it makes me feel like he's not a stranger to the area and I was gait to see he was turning the land green wherever he went
Heracles never did go back to boom archipelago if I remember right. At least that’s what we know from the cover stories.
Him finding Wano isnt something that helps your theory. Remember the world government/marines already had ships sent out to Wano during the raid. They were positioned out there to take over Wano after the battle but plans changed and Aramaki went ahead alone. The Marines/WG already know how to get to wano/where it is.
I don’t have all the particulars, but it would make a ton of sense if Luffy’s father Dragon planned out his adventure from the beginning. He’s pretty much doing Dragon’s work for him, going around from island to island overthrowing oppressive governments.
Maybe even Shanks and Dragon could be in cahoots, and Shanks knew what he was doing by bringing the devil fruit to him.
There are certain steps in the Strawhats's journey that are related to Dragon and also unplanned by him, which I feel go counter that theory: Kuma and Ivankov. Dragon does not know what is going on with Kuma's robofication, so the Shabondy scattering would have been close to impossible to coordinate. Luffy's Impel Down and Marineford adventure relied on Ivankov, who was cut off from the Revos and, correct me if I'm wrong, was unaware Luffy was Dragon's son before he arrived in ID
Guys who you think could be the person/peoples that vega called?
I think stussy is an option but the only thing speaking against this is that vegapunk clearly says ,,them" so it has to be multiple people
There's singular "they" as well. It might be that the translator is non committal about the gender of the character. So little is written about that character, without some translator notes or someone bilingual checking the original it's hard to say
Ahh interesting
I really think it can only be stussy in that case
The way she acted on egghead(not warning kaku), her being hinted to be the missing scientist etc.
God is a strong word here.
PS, I also vote Stussy is quite old and an integral part of this plot.

he lost/////
You have to accept the reality that Zoro is just a natural talented guy.
No special lineage. He is a star just like Marco said.
ok so i'm late to this and others before me have probably come to the same conclusion but:
For a while I've been on board with the idea that Kuzan is part of SWORD, and that he is to Blackbeard as Drake was to Kaido. Since we know Koby and Helmeppo are in SWORD, I feel like it only makes sense that Garp is also part of it, perhaps also its leader (we know Kuzan has been indebted to Garp for a long time). And the reason he's going to Fullalead now of all times is because Kuzan told him that the majority of the Blackbeard Pirates' forces are currently on Winner Island fighting Law, though as to whether Kuzan is currently also at Winner Island remains to be seen)
We've had extensive debates on Kuzan being in sword but it was prior to Garp going to hachinosu. This does add quite a nice connection. I was always a fan of this being the case but it does require a few head canon things to make sense. I assume we will see the truth shortly and by shortly I mean this year
Something I've considered when re-reading anything to do with Sanji producing fire from his leg and also to do with Lunarians being able to do the same, could it be possible that Sanji was actually engineered to be capable of this by Judge? It's extremely likely he knows about Lunarians as he worked with Vegapunk and Vegapunk personally extracted King's lineage factor. I feel Sanji is going to unlock greater control of his abilities when infusing fire into his attacks and ignite other parts of himself. I think this will happen during his upcoming fight with the Seraphim, he and Zoro will be the key to defeating them. Zoro with his haki and Sanji with his Lunarian lineage lineage factor and speed boosts from controlling Lunarian powers.
A Walking Information
"Knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it is also a powerful weapon."
Marshall D. Teach
I think Teach knows what happened in the Ancient Kingdom and how it was destroyed. My theory is that, once you absorb something, you gain information on what you just absorbed. We all know that this Ancient Kingdom was powerful, and probablly has a lot of informations from all over the world, races informations, ancient weapon informations and other things.
This is the reason why Blackbeard was shocked the moment he saw a Seraphim with a Lunarian appearance. If the World Government banned all books and information about the Lunarians, there is no way Blackbeard might have been able to determine their appearance or even have an expression that suggests he knows something about them. Once you absorb something, you gain information about it, just like how he was able to perform Whitebeard's famous pose using the Gura Gura no Mi. And I think not only the Ancient Kingdom informations are stored in that Devil Fruit. That is why, Im wants to get rid Blackbeard.
But the person who used that Devil Fruit to absorb the Ancient Kingdom is dead. However, the information is still stored in the void of the Yami Yami no Mi.
Can you pin this @modest skiff?
Marshall D. Teach - Blackbeard - Complete Hit or Miss Theory (Egghead Island spoilers)
We know that recreating a Paramecia type fruit is easy, we just need the Lineage Factor of the user. So, what I think happened under the cover/sheet which BB covered over WB was, he extracted WB's lineage factor after he died, and he created an ARTIFICIAL Gura Gura no Mi.
I reckon, even with the Yami Yami no Mi, it can't negate the side effects of having two REAL Devil Fruits in your body. However, the Yami Yami no Mi is powerful enough to negate the side effects of having both an artificial fruit, and a real fruit.
It was a direct, end to end transfer using the Yami Yami no Mi.
No replication or whatsoever, the Gura Gura no Mi soul is now in possession of Blackbeard.
After the Summit War, it was stated he is the only known Pirate who wield two Devil Fruit.
Is it explicitly shown though? We have never seen the fruit being eaten by Blackbeard. For all I know, this theory is 100% correct, or 100% wrong, I just wanted to put it out there 🤷♂️
Okay.
Right after Blackbeard killed Thatch. The only way to get the power of the Yami Yami no Mi is to eat consume it.
Now for his second power the Gura Gura no Mi. Blackbeard used his Yami Yami no Mi while in touched with Whitebeard's dead body.
That is the only way for Blackbeard to absorb the Gura Gura no Mi. You have to be physically near, touched the object.
The process of absorption at that scene was covered by a black cloth. Maybe this cloth was used just to cover the hugging process...
Do not confused about the Cloth. It was just an act for the Blackbeard's crew.
Yami Yami no Mi is the key.
I think the issue with this is how. Lazy it is. Feels like a plot point to a much lesser work
if the yami yami no mi is the secret ,then how did the other bb members get their powers, all the yami yami no mi does is absorb and regurgitate. i believe it's something else because Burgess was about to steal the gomu gomu no mi from luffy after he had pased out after figthing Doffy, i think its either he was going to extract his lineage factor or just kill luffy and take a bite of his dead body.
Here is my take;
We all know the Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi can absorb and release anything. Absalom is dead.
**1. **- Blackbeard's hand is touching Shiryu and his other hand is on Absalom's corpse. That is the only Devil Fruit that we have known so far that was stolen from other characters other than Gura Gura no Mi. Blackbeard act like a "conduit" for two objects for his power be able to transfer, or
**2. **- Blackbeard didn't use his power. They just killed Absalom and Clear Clear Fruit respawned in the area or maybe next to the Absalom's corpse.
What you just saw probably in some YouTube about Burgess planning to steal using a Knife. I believe it's just a weapon, nothing special properties in it.
And he got a pouch right or a bag. Well I believe he needs to bring the corpse to Blackbeard then absorption will take place. But what if the Devil Fruit just respawn right next to the corpse. The use of the bag is just a bag to place the Devil Fruit inside of that bag.
wouldn’t luffy know about Sun God Nika if this is true, since that information would be stored in the fruit ?
Here's what I think happened 900 years ago;
- There is an ancient kingdom, where the rulers are evil.
- The desire of all the slaves (Human, Fishman, Lunarian, etc) is to be free. The Nika fruit is born.
- This boy gives happiness and joy to the slaves in the midst of darkness. They call him, Joy Boy.
- Nika's soul found the boy.
- The Boy and the slaves face off against the rulers of Ancient Kingdom.
- Joy Boy and the slaves win, a promise is made, Ancient Weapon abolishment, and Joy Boy disappears.
- Years pass. Yami Yami no Mi is the fruit of the hatred, heinous desire of the the remnants of the ancient kingdom to annihilate the slaves specially the boy, who only known as Joy Boy.
- Im is the first user of the Yami Yami no Mi and ends up absorbing the ancient kingdom. Im disappears.
- Holy Land and The World Government formation.
- 200 years ago, Im returns!. Im activated Uranus. Iron Giant detects it. Head to the Holy Land, but runs out of power.
This theory is connected to why Blackbeard able to identify Lunarian: The Yami Yami no Mi has absorbed something in the past and has stored it in the void. The user can access this information at any given time.
- The information is still stored in the void of the Yami Yami no Mi. That is why, Im wants to get rid Blackbeard.
- Marshall D. Teach's desire is much greater than that of Rocks and Im. This is the reason why the fruit chose Marshall D. Teach.
The aura of a true samurai is present in Zoro. It reminds Hyogoro of a certain samurai named "Ryuma" and for some reason, he sees a resemblance in Zoro. However, this resemblance does not mean that Zoro is from Wano or has a connection to it, particularly to Ryuma. Oden doesn't have a connection too with Zoro. But the aura of being a true samurai is present in Zoro. Enma is with Zoro. Kaido sense the aura of Oden from Zoro. The same one you are trying to say to me. Again, for me, Zoro has no connection to Wano's legendary Samurai.
it was myself, sorry, you answered my question from before which i delete cause i wanted to rewrite it.
and the i deleted the other question because i saw you answered my deleted comment so then i had to delete the newest comment again
didnt kaido sense it cause of enma?
but wouldnt that with hyogoro show that zoro is a shimotsuki?
I believe, "Enma" is just to help him control his power or to boost it.
But the aura of being a true swordsman like Oden, lies within the swordsman. It's the aura that Kaido sensed not the Enma.
or should I say, the "Will" that Kaido felt, it the same thing he felt when he fought Oden.
i see, i understand that point of view but to me it somehow felt different
Big Mom said something like careful for that attack. Then Kaido saw the image of Oden within Zoro.
Zoro aura is as the same now with Oden. This aura is what Kaido saw before Zoro launch the attack.
yes i see
but to me that doesnt discredit shimotsuki being his lineage?
Remember, it's not only the sword that can make damage. It's also the user of that sword, swordsman's strength and the will, how he can control that sword.
Wano Arc is done. We are done with the story about Samurai. There is no connection to Zoro.
didnt ruffy himself say he will come back?
we still have the storyline with the walls of wano and pluton, im sure we will come back
Or could Oda explain it later? Zoro being the King of Hell and growing up on Shitmosuki village is no coincidence. Being able to wield cursed swords/ black blades with ease is again not a coincidence and it’s likely he’ll get the Wado to a black/ cursed blade too
I think Zoro is a natural guy with unbelievable talent, without a special lineage. He is just pure greatness. But, as a Samurai, he will always have a connection to any legendary sword and figures.
Wano is done, but the connection to the story is not yet finished. There are too many questions that need to be answered, one of which is the Poneglyphs. What kind of material are they? They are an unidentified and indestructible type of stone. My guess is that they are from the Ancient Kingdom and that the same type of material that ancient weapons were built from, only ancient weapons can destroy these Poneglyphs. Can Luffy's Gear 5th abilities alter the properties of these indestructible stones like he did to the roof and terrain of Onigashima? I think he can't.
Right now, he don't have a Devil Fruit and I don't think he will have in the future.
He would not be able to swim and would be a detriment to the rest of the crew (those with a devil fruit) and their stupidity . in the future however, please do not leave one-off small theories like this in the channel. read the channel topic when you can

- How are they evil? Oppressive? Immoral? If they are evil, why won’t the WG use that as propaganda for their own cause? Instead they swept everything under the rug and took extreme measures to keep it hidden.
- “The Nika fruit is born?” Why haven’t we witnessed another fruit to be born in the modern era? What is your premise for a devil fruit to be borne from culmination of desire in the form of a mythical being? Rather than a literal sense e.g. Freedom Freedom Fruit
- Um, okay
- ???
- Except the demise of AK is directly linked to the rise of WG. So Joy Boy’s disappearance should involve WG’s participation.
- Joy Boy’s plan to free Fishmen literally involves the use of an Ancient Weapon.
7 and 8. The only way shown for Devil Fruit powers to transfer is after the death of an existing user - See my point on 5
- Maybe
- Still doesn’t make sense that Im was previous user. Wouldn’t Im go immediately for the fruit if he knew the secrets and knowledge it would impart to the next user?
- You are suggesting that Logia fruits have an identity of their own, a trait that’s been linked specifically to Awakened Zoans only. Please show an instance of awakened logia.

The World Government are just a mask. They are the servants of the Celestial Dragons (Evil) who rule the Upper Earth (Holy Land, their heaven).
1b. In order to destroy the newly inhabitants (Slaves) of the Ancient Kingdom. Celestial Dragons managed to recruit other evil clans that wanted to live in that Ancient Kingdom. -
The Nika Nika no Mi appeared because of the "Desire" of the "Slaves" to be free from the evil rulers of the Ancient Kingdom.
-
There is a slave boy that makes his fellow slaves happy even in the midst of darkness. Is this hard to explain? They called him Joy Boy. It's like Luffy that makes his Village happy.
-
The Nika Nika no Mi's soul got into that boy's body. We can say, like what happened to Luffy. That boy eat the fruit.
These are all headcanon. I will only reply the same answer. You can read my original post again.
Like I said on #8. Im is the first user of the Yami Yami no Mi or the Darkness Darkness Fruit. For some reason Im disappeared. The fruit reborn and fast forward, it happened to be in possession of Thatch, later Blackbeard.
Just like what happened to Joy Boy's fruit. Luffy got it.
Im's fruit. Blackbeard got it.
It was never mentioned that Joy Boy died. Again, these are all my headcanon.
Make a reply one by one. I'll answer you.. Crystal clear.
IMO head canon theories are low effort since there’s no real proof from manga, like how I mentioned to you in a previous post. I won’t engage further. Have a good day.
I'm sorry for my low effort. But thank you for reading my low effort.
The AK couldn't be evil since it still likely exists where Marijoea is now since the Eve (sunlight tree) is likely to be the last remaining (known) memory of it (point 1). The Lunarians had likely already fled from the moon and joined the AK. Nika was 'born' when Joyboy died, I agree with that. The DF is another issue in itself because the giants robot on Egghead was likely a protector of some sort that relies on solar power (ie the sunlight tree because that's an infinite source) The slaves didn't win though since Joyboy failed to use Poseidon (who appears every 800 years I would assume) to free the Fishman and Merfolk from underneath the sea (FMI), along with Noah to fulfill their dreams and wishes of living on the surface once again (point 5). Imu couldn't have the yami yami no mi since 1 they're still alive and 2 DFs either incarnate with the closest fruit of similar colour/ shape that's how they appear 'randomly' (or at least that's what I think). Imu does have a 'treasure' of some sort (doffy said this too and it's likely the reason he was imprisoned along with the crimes he committed.
The Yami Yami no mi being able to hold information is an interesting idea to help explain why BB knows a lot about the world. However, although the WG has effectively erased Lunarians from the world and suppressed knowledge about them, they still provide hefty bounties for any info/tip on any living Lunarians based off of what was said by the Beast Pirates in Ch1035. BB being able to recognize them but not identify them in Ch1059 is normal and could just be a story mechanic by Oda to help verify that the Seraphim do indeed look like King.
I don’t think BB being able to perform WB’s famous pose doesn’t require any special knowledge. We’ve seen CP9 agents eat an entirely unknown df and in very little time become proficient enough to use them in battle with the SHs in Enies Lobby. BB on the other hand, has lived with the Whitebeard pirates for decades, so I’m sure he picked up an idea or two on how WB uses his powers.
The idea that the Yami-Yami no mi absorbing more than just the material itself is interesting, but I don’t know if there’s any evidence to support it. There’s still a giant question mark of how BB acquired a devil fruit encyclopedia and acquired the knowledge to able to use his fruit to absorb another df user’s powers. Maybe he read it somewhere, maybe he has the help of a third party, who knows.
Your void century tidbit is as you’ve stated pure headcannon and doesn’t really help your theory because there’s a huge burden of proof on you to provide evidence to support each of those points. Try to stay grounded to existing story materials that help justify your argument.
blackbeard unlimited df
Black beard can have as much devil fruit as he want
Blackbeard devil fruit is a very special devil fruit and actually has a hidden ability, he can use his devil fruit and suck ability of other devil fruit user and have there abilty but he needs the body of the df user. So like if he defeats sabo he can choose to have the mera mera fruit or no.
why do I think of this?
Bb has already 1 df but still go to boa handcock island and he wants boa’s fruit.
why body
Bc I think that with his ability, he can suck up a users ability and use it but not actually eating the Df, Causing him to have 2 DF currently. The suck ability is like a black hole and he mentions it here.
I think the guy vegapunk was talking to is ether sabo or some new character or maybe just maybe gin. (Sorry if I need to use spoiler tag idk how to)
BB's has an interest in history, oda once suggested if he wasnt a pirate bb would be an archaeologist. And we've seen from Marco that the whitebeards knew rumours about lunarians.
It's reasonable to assume that being on WB pirates is where BB gained much of his deep knowledge
I think that Brook is Aokiji's father as they look very similar in brook's human form and they both have ice type abilities for foreshadowing.
Original
Brook spent 50 years in the boat alone. Aokiji is 47.
What I just posted to my Theory is Blackbeard's Yami Yami no Mi can store information's on all the things that stored/absorbed.
In the scene with Marco talking with Whitebeard about Lunaria. I believe this scene in my Headcanon was happened after Thatch murder.
Blackbeard probably heard it but I will still insist that hi's Devil Fruit is an endless void of information. Blackbeard can access all the information any time.
You should stop headcanon- ing your theories
If you insist
Why not? If gives ur brain think deep things other than narrowed thoughts.
You have to think wider things other than what just portrayed in the Manga/Anime.
Endless possibilities, headcanon are a key for a theory.
This isn't a channel for discussing theories in the marco-verse of one piece
I tried engaging with your theory with a reasonable critique, being that Marco knew about Lunarians and him and BB shared a crew for decades, and your response was. "I'm going to pretend Marco only learnt this after BB left"
If I were you, create your own piece of information that other users can think of it too.
It makes the channel engaging rather than making those efforts wasted.
I'm sharing my headcanon with a theory a possibilities and someone said to stop. That guy is a one sided guy that can't think wider than his inner thoughts.
Okay, fair enough
@merry geyser enough with headcannon-heavy theories. No matter how charitable I can be with the theories you've shared thus far, there is a clear barrier of entry because you're not bringing forth enough evidence from existing story material to create a solid foundation that can be discussed in a meaningful way. Rather, you've taken the idea that "BB has a df that can store information" and extrapolated from that to discuss the ramifications of that knowledge as well as Imu's tie-in to that df. It's difficult to engage when one person's theory relies on so many assumptions and very little in-story evidence.
Please keep your theories here grounded to existing story material. If you have a theory that has way more assumptions than it has evidence, consider posting a shorter version of it in #manga instead.
!theories @past iron please read the channel's description. Your comments are better suited for #manga

I think shanks isn’t evil. But I do believe since luffy is starting to gain lots of supports and start to take over some of shanks territory I do believe he will have to not be weak and fight luffy not because he wants to but has too
my theorie is that the joyboy era was that the celestial dragons was destroying and enslaving islands, races and etc so joyboy(a slave)eat the devil fruit (the first devil fruit) the dying king and escaped created haki, got a crew, and created more devil fruits that his crew could use.he tried to defeat the celestial dragons but he was too weak (his crew died exact Zunesha who helped him was ordered to walk the earth untill she died) to do it so he died but when buried him in laughtale he grew into a great tree that didnt need water(devil fruits are made by the essence of joy boy and the soal of joy boy was in luffys fruit)so the sea hated him.Imu the decedent of the king got the hold on a another devil fruit and begame to come control the world and anybody who had the presents for joy boy was marked a d for devil and whoever uses to much haki will get a sick because haki eats at your willpower so if you fight costanly or uses it all the time and overuse it you wil get sick .also Rocks D Xebec was just like luffy but smart who had the yami yami no mi and was trying to find the one piece and but rogers was too so rogers joined with the world goverment(garp) defeated Rocks just to find out that the one piece can only be reach by a the soul of joy boy(gomu gomu no mi).shanks was planning on eating it to find it.when luffy ate the fruit shanks made his plan to steal the one piece from luffy.i also think the one piece is to get a wish for joyboy himself.
Nice theory seems pretty good but idk about creating haki as it’s not rly something that could have been created. Also potentially depends on whether Vegas theory on DF was correct or not
I like the concept that whatever is at Laugh Tale will not exist until Luffy goes there and uses his "imagination power" to bring it to reality.
Really like the sound of this but the thing is with the gomu gomu no mi, it was ment to go to lucky roux, not shanks
So why the heck is big mom so big. She has superhuman strength and haki. Abandoned by her parents on elbaf because she was a danger to them. Friggin Kaido is on par with her and he is ?part? Oni
What if she has giant royalty blood in her. can't link but it is shown that Loki, the giants' ruler, has a smaller stature than other giants, indicating he has different blood or ancestry.
Would further explain why she is vying for control of elbaf and why her parents dumped her on the giants doorstep, as well as her size and strength.
She is a giant
no?
She is born with a huge size
Not enough to be a giant. She’s still 3m smaller than the smallest giant
The reason why she is so huge is bc she ate her friends and bunch of food that gains fat
She was already bigger than normal humans at a short age. Her alimentation helps sure but it’s mostly genetics
what in schizophrenia
did it not show her parents?
It showed
Her parents were regular humans who were terrified of her when she was like 5.. maybe she's just got an eating disorder lol
The Builders of the Ancient Weapon (Uranus)
Elbaf is just going to be the land of the giants. There have to be other things that will be applied to the cultures of giants that are not entirely based on Norse mythology. It has to be some kind of reverse culture since the inhabitants are already giants and their looks. There are too many manga that have already introduced a fully Norse mythological inspired theme. There has to be something that will make Elbaf not a typical Norse mythology-inspired theme. Oba will make it far different than you think. No Odin or Thor, Loki's name is enough.
I believe we are going to learn more about ancient weapons in the land of Elbaf. The island is known for having giant and fierce inhabitants. In Wano, we learned about Poneglyphs. In Elbaf, we are going to learn why the ancient weapon Uranus, its big because it was built by the giants. I believe a giant is the second-to-last crew member to join the Straw Hat Pirates. This giant is the one who will fight Sanjuan Wolf of the Blackbeard Pirates.
I think this is like a recruitment arc for a new giant nakama, and a training course. But there won't be a big battle on this island. Blackbeard won't be present on this island.
I’m gonna kill myself if black beard says ROOM
I dont remember if this was ever confirmed, but isn't it pretty obvious shanks set up the gomu gomu no mi to be eaten by luffy? First, he brings it into to bar. Excusable. Then he leave it out of sight. Someone else could see it. Leaving it unlocked and opened(I don't know if it was opened, but it was def unlocked)? Definitely a set up. I think he wanted to test the fruit out and see hpw it works and luffy is the test experiment. What if Now that he knows luffy is about to unlock his full potential, he or someone from the wg is gonna try and steal it?🤔
it was said that the nika fruit had will of its own so maybe it influenced shanks to somehow let it be eaten by luffy?
count me in
Me too
I believe shanks is waiting for the Nika fruit to activate
Kinda too much of a coincidence shanks saw the bounty image and decided to claim the op
My belief so far is that while Shanks was after the Nika fruit, he planned to give it to someone other than Luffy. That is why he was so shocked when Luffy ate it. In fact, we saw the Gorosei ponder if the fruit itself was affecting the world in a way to escape from the WG whenever they tried to secure it. Perhaps the fruit acted again sensing that Luffy would be a good user for it? There is the fan theory that Shanks meant to give the fruit to Ace, who was on the same island as Luffy. As it is, I like the idea that the DF itself has been somehow working towards a specific goal. Making it so that Shanks and his crew got a chance to steal it and then used the opportunity to make Luffy be the one to eat it rather than whatever it was that Shanks planned to do. After all, to me it seems like Shanks merely thinks Luffy a funny kid and annoyance until he gave the same speech he heard from Roger earlier. But this is just my current theory and I'm pretty sure Oda will reveal the truth before the manga is over.
Again this fruit was ment to go to lucky roux not Luffy
That is actually part of an in-depth theory about shanks and the Hito Hito no Mi Model:nika
bruh
@merry geyser so yeah i wanna see those sources you have. maybe they'll be good enough to convince me, maybe not. regardless, i do want to see them
Is everything getting deleted or is discord bugging
mod deleted everything, and idk why. we were just talking about blackbeard's fruits
You can move on from the topic
👍
The purge happened because the channel was cluttered with less than valuable discussion
Hop on a new theory
i mean i thought it was interesting, and now i dont know who was talking here so im not able to talk in dms
Hello
Look for "Marco", the broader concepts about how bb becomes endgame villain are interesting.
yeah i just @ ed him asking for his sources on his theory
Anyways, let's move on as requested
Favorite theories that you think are most likely true?
Bb 3 souls
Laugh tale is on the moon
Shanks has some ulterior move and isn’t exactly good or bad
Dragon was a high ranking marine
(These are a few)
Tried looking into the bb 3 sounds one and finding multiple different things, mind elaborating on what specifically you mean?
Basically it follows the idea that bb has 3 souls (the way he has or got them varies on the theory) and that’s how he has 2 fruits and implied to soon get a third. He does things in 3s a lot kinda
Df are connected directly to souls. So in theory if you had more then one you could also have more then one df. It also explains why his personality is so different all the time. And it fits with his “weird body”
Plus the three skulls on his Jolly Roger
There’s more then that depending on the theory but thats the basic stuff
Yeah I’m seeing some interesting stuff. Some of these theories people have are so creative and well thought out
